Caray, Caray!

• Mercy tells Ryan that she took 5 pills and Ryan insists on taking her to the hospital. Mercy doesn’t want to because she loves being there with her two children. Ryan thinks she’s talking nonsense and goes to make a call.
• Danilo announces to the audience that he is going to perform a new song for a friend, who he hopes knows he is always there to help her. Morgana smiles, thinking it’s her, but Laustela, walking backstage, hears him and smiles, knowing it’s really their song. Danilo begins to sing and sees Laustela at the edge of the stage. He sings to her but Morgana begins to dance seductively in front of him and takes him away. Laustela shakes her head at the whole thing and leaves as Danilo tells Morgana to put a sock in it and get off the stage.
• Later, in the dressing room, Laustela asks Morgana if she is okay but Morgana chides her for the poor condition of the dressing room because there isn’t even a sofa for her to lie down when she has a headache. Laustela explains that it is simple festival, and they don’t have fancier accommodations, but Morgana reminds her that she should, at least for the guests of honor. Laustela will be sure to tell Ryan and Tato and goes to leave but Morgana asks if she’s Ryan’s woman because she would like to give Ryan her message personally and see if she can flirt with him. Laustela smiles and reiterates that she will tell him as Genesis comes and tells Laustela that Don Chayo is ready to go on stage and need her help. Laustela leaves with her but leaves her beg behind. Morgana sees it, checks to see no one is outside, and takes it with her.


• Outside, she walks to the band’s truck and takes out Laustela’s wallet. She sees her permanent resident card and takes it out. She then takes out her cell phone, notices it doesn’t have a code, and unlocks. She smiles as she goes through it.
• That night, backstage, Danilo asks Laustela if he liked her surprise but she is too distracted by Don Chayo and his band, which are finally on stage and begin to sing.
• Genesis comes and tells her everything is ready and squared away; she will call Ryan now to let him know. Laustela nods and then goes to enjoy the festival. She sings along with Don Chayo as the audience cheers.
• Some later, Don Chayo finishes and the audience asks for another one as a man walks toward the stage. Various audience members try to hold him back but he reveals that it is a bottle of tequila for Don Chayo. Don Chayo approaches the stage but two men with tasers take down the audience member and the bottle breaks on the edge of the stage. Laustela tries to hold Don Chayo back as a fight breaks in the audience. Don Chayo tells her that the audience is full of countrymen like them but Laustela runs to the mike and announces that the police are coming. The audience disperses as several ICE agents come and fire warning shots into the air. One audience member runs off stage and crashes into Laustela, ripping her staff badge in the process. She doesn’t notice as the badge is kicked below on of the microphones.
• Ryan calls Laustela but finds Morgana has her cell phone. Morgana explains that Laustela left her cell phone and she answered because she was curious. He asks about Laustela but Morgana doesn’t know where she is; last she heard she was going to have an intimate celebration with Don Chayo. Ryan shakes his head as Morgana continues to spew her venom.
• An ICE agent detains Laustela, who tries to tell him she is part of the staff and a US citizen. Another two agents come and tell her they didn’t find her ID badge in the dressing room and no one can confirm she’s part of the staff. They call her a liar and inform her that she is detained until they find out who she is.
• Mr. Blake has checked into a seedy motel with Luisa, who tells him he has a call from Senator Logan. He asks Logan how his anti-immigration efforts are going and asks if he has a lot of friends in ICE. Logan confirms he does and Mr. Blake tells him that he needs to know if Laura Oviedo is in one of the detention centers ASAP. He also confirms he will send Logan Laura’s fingerprints, pronto, so he can do the appropriate research.
• Laustela is dragged out of LA Rodeo and stuffed into the back of a van with other detainees.
• Ryan brings Mercy, who seems to be feeling better, some tea. Mercy thanks him and reiterates that she had nothing to do with Pedro’s murder, especially because she felt horrible when he was detained. Ryan asks that they put that conversation on the backburner and Mercy asks if he went to the festival. Ryan tells her he didn’t but he supposes everything went well because Laustela went to celebrate with Don Chayo. Mercy thinks it’s horrible that she went to party instead of taking care of Paloma but Ryan shakes his head and reminds her they are separating and she can do whatever she wants. Rosario comes in and hears the tail end of the conversation. She tells them that Laustela is not that kind of woman and she’s probably in trouble if she isn’t home yet.
• Asdrubal gives Danilo and the ban a new tour bus, much to everyone’s delight. He then opens a bottle of champagnes and begins to celebrate. He then tells Asdrubal that he learned his lesson and Asdrubal tells him the tour bus is a gift for a job well done. Danilo smiles and tells him everything went smoothly but Asdrubal grabs him and reminds him that he better learn quickly. Danilo nods and Asdrubal tells him that in order to keep El Dorado happy, he needs to get more power at Furia. Ryan explains that Ryan has more shares than him, it’s just a matter of time before he registers Paloma as his, but Asdrubal tells him that whoever holds the most shares is not always the one with the most power. He then gives Danilo a baggie filled with cocaine, “so he can grow.”
• At ICE police headquarters, Laustela is lined up with the rest of the detainees. The guard asks them to be quiet and cooperate and everything will go smoothly. A woman asks Laustela if she’s Mexican and Laustela tells her that she is a US Citizen. The woman is surprised to see her detained and worries that she will be deported because it’s harder to cross the border if she is. She then asks if Laustela has kids and she nods before telling Laustela that she has two children: Maria y Tadeo, who are 17 and 15. She then explains that she came to look for her husband, who had stopped writing long ago, so he could help her bring their children over the border since she had to leave them behind because she was short on money. Laustela thinks he will help her right away, if she calls him, and then a guard asks if there are any American residents present. Laustela raises her hand and tells them that she has no IDs on her person but she can call someone that can verify her identity. The ICE agent tells her to shut up, because she doesn’t have any rights there but Laustela fights for her right to make a phone call. The rest of the detainees begin to protest as well.
• Danilo gives Asdrubal back his baggie and tells him he doesn’t need cocaine. Asdrubal nods and then tells him that El Dorado wants Morgana to put her body to work because she’s obviously not a singer. Danilo will take care of it as soon as he takes her back to the hotel but, for now, they party.
• Ryan tells Rosario to go to sleep because Laustela is fine and at a party but Rosario doesn’t believe it; Laustela is not that type of woman and she barely knows Don Chayo. She chooses to wait for her in the living room and asks Ryan why he always thinks the worst of Laustela. He reminds her that he had a deal with Laustela and that deal is over so he has nothing to say about her decisions. Rosario realizes he’s jealous and reminds him that he has closed off his heart since he’s been hurt before. Ryan shakes his head and decides to go to sleep.
• Laustela tells the ICE agent that she only needs to make a call because she has family that can prove her identity. The agent shakes his head and then leaves as Laustela sits down, frustrated. The woman tells her that they are nobody to the agents, who think they come to the US out of pleasure and not necessity. Laustela confesses that she would rather be dead than go back to Mexico because she’s a US Citizen as the woman advises her to not sign anything lest they deport her immediately. Laustela is quiet and then the woman finally introduces herself as Leticia. Laustela tells them they need to pray for a miracle but Leticia reminds her that the worst they can do is drop them off at the border. She tells Laustela that the American don’t even realize that they would be lost without the immigrant workforce.
• The ICE agents discuss the fact the detainees. One of them ones them gone ASAP because they will need to investigate them all if they stay longer. Two of the other agents are looking over the fingerprints but the third one reminds them that it’s late and they should forgo the fingerprint process.
• Danilo arrives at Morgana’s hotel room. She thought he would come back next week but Danilo chides her for disappearing even if he did kick her off the stage. She goes to complain again but he grabs her and kisses her before throwing her on the bed. She reminds him that he was singing to Laustela but Danilo continues to kiss her. She eventually gives in and confesses that if Ryan and Laustela are separated then Ryan may not register Paloma as his and they could get pregnant and win the 20% of the shares. Danilo reminds her that she didn’t want to ruin her figure but Morgana explains that her figure wouldn’t matter if she lost him, especially now that he has 40% shares in Furia. They continue to kiss and Danilo doesn’t notice Laustela purse on the floor at the foot of the bed.
• The next day, an ICE agent comes and tells Laustela to wake up as she and several others are being transferred to another facility. She tells him they can’t take her anyway as her family is in LA and he tells her she won’t get to see them as she is leaving through the front door of the ICE station directly back to Mexico. He tells her and Leticia to hurry up.
• Tato visits the Cabrera household and informs Rosario, Mercy and Ryan about the police and ICE raid at the end of the festival. Rosario chides him for not letting them know sooner but Tato tells them he left before the end and didn’t imagine it was that bad; he sent Don Chayo home immediately and he spent the night with his family. Everyone is shocked to hear this and Rosario reminds them that she knew something had happened to Laustela because she wouldn’t just disappear. Mercy asks Ryan to tell Rosario what happened three years ago but Rosario waves her off and wonders if ICE took Laustela. Mercy doesn’t think it’d be a problem because she’s US citizen but Ryan goes off to look for her immediately.
• Some time later, Ryan goes to the LAPD but the policeman informs him that they detained no Estela Carrillo. Ryan then asks about ICE detainees but the policeman tells him that their records are separate. Ryan asks about ICE detention centers and the policeman informs him of three close by in Santa Ana. Ryan storms off.
• Someone knocks on Morgana’s hotel room and she immediately opens it. It’s Asdrubal, who informs him of the ICE raid at the festival. Danilo doesn’t think it’s a big deal but Asdrubal reminds him that Horacio, Tato’s lawyer, has El Dorado’s money. Danilo asks him to calm down as Horacio left when Don Chayo went to sing and as Asdrubal nods. He then kicks Laustela’s wallet by mistake and asks them why they have it. Morgana quickly goes to retrieve it and explains that Laustela lost her bag during the raid and she took it home with her. Asdrubal grabs the wallet and tells Morgana that she’s lying because they didn’t know about the raid. He then asks Danilo if Laustela organized the festival and Danilo nods. Asdrubal tells him to think because if ICE detained Laustela, and she didn’t have her ID, then she will likely be deported and ICE would have to investigate Furia to see if there hired other undocumented workers. Danilo thinks she’s likely partying but Asdrubal reminds him that everything needs to be in order at Furia and calls him an idiot before storming out.
• Laustela and the other detainees are stuffed in the back of the van as one agent tells his superior that he took all the detainees’ fingerprints but no matches came up. He hangs up and then calls his direct supervisor and reveals they didn’t follow protocol as instructed because there was no need. He hangs up and then tells the van to go.
• Rosario prays to the Virgen de Guadalupe to bring back Laustela, safe and sound. Just then Paloma comes and asks about her mother. Rosario tells her that she went to work but Paloma reminds her that Laustela never came to give her a good night kiss or sing to her. Rosario tells that she left a kiss for her and sang but she was too sleepy to hear her. Paloma doesn’t seem too convinced.
• Ryan goes to the ICE station to look for Laustela but one of the agents informs him that they detained no one last night. Ryan reveals that he spoke with the LAPD and they informed him of an ICE raid last night. The man reiterates that they detained no one but Ryan asks him to think about it a little more.
• On the way to the border, Leticia stresses about the fact that they will be dumped at the border like trash but Laustela in unsure. Just then, a truck gets in front of the van, which immediately shoots, and fires warning shots. A few masked men jump out and demand they release all the prisoners.
• The ICE agents reveal that they did detain several people yesterday, including Estela Carrillo, and Ryan chides them for not following protocol and allowing her a phone call. The agent explains that she made a call but found no one who could help her; either way, there was no way to prove she was who she said she was. Ryan tells them the law should’ve been followed but the agent tells him that they were illegal immigrants and from Mexico, like him. Ryan tells them that he’s a US citizen and not ashamed of his heritage as the US was founded by immigrants. The agent is quiet and Ryan asks if they can find out if Laustela is across the border. One of the other agents confirms he may be able to find her before she is turned over to the Mexican authorities.
• The ICE agents surrender as the masked men open the van doors and demand all the detainees jump out. They oblige but the masked men grab Laustela and tell her they are here for her before dragging her to their truck with Leticia in tow. Laustela and Leticia hug each other as the truck drives away.
• Later, Ryan asks the agents for an update and the agent reveals that the ICE van was intercepted by armed men, possibly drug traffickers, and they let some detainees go and took others. The agent reveals that one of those that were taken may have been Laustela. Ryan tells the agent that anything that happens to Laustela is on him and storms out.
• In Furia, Joe tells Mercy that not everyone wants a refund for the festival but they are lucky to have bought the insurance either way. He realizes she isn’t listening and Mercy reveals that she still has a headache as Danilo comes in and instructs Joe to organize a board meeting, pronto. Mercy reminds him that he is no one to do so but Danilo reminds her that he is a shareholder. Mercy and Joe remind him that there can’t be a board meeting without Ryan and Danilo asks that they find him immediately and not be flirting so much. Mercy asks Danilo to respect her but Danilo warns them to listen to him lest he reveals what he knows.
• Ryan and Steve drive around Santa Ana and try to find Laustela. Ryan thinks it was Pedro’s people who kidnapped Laustela because they know she isn’t Estela but Steve asks him to calm down because he’s too hyped up. Ryan nods and Steve tells him to go look for her at the other ICE station. Ryan agrees and they go.
• The men drop Laustela and Leticia off on the side of the road, a few miles from where the van was. Leticia confesses that she was scared for her life but Laustela tells her that they are now safe and need to find out where they are. Leticia realizes that those men knew Laustela but she shakes her head and tells her that they confused her with someone else. Leticia nods and shakes it off as a miracle then before telling Laustela that she needs to find her husband ASAP. Laustela tells her that she has someone who can help her and then asks if she has a place to stay. Leticia shakes her head and begins to cry before telling Laustela that everything since she got to the US has been a tragedy. Laustela tells her that she will help her for the time being and Leticia thanks her and tells her that she is the first decent person she’s met since crossing the border.
• Danilo sits down and puts his feet up on Mercy’s desk before warning her that it would be her word against his if he opens his mouth about her affair with Joe. Mercy asks him what he wants and Danilo explains that he would prefer not to be treated like trash, especially as a shareholder, and asks Mercy for a position within the company. He hums as he thinks and then tells them that he wants to be in charge of finding and launching new talents, especially because he’s an artist himself. Mercy thinks he’s too irresponsible for that position but Danilo tells them that he is not asking, but demanding, and Mercy and Joe agree. He then tells them that they must inform Ryan at once and smiles before leaving.
• Ryan is in his room when Paloma comes and Ryan immediately welcomes her and picks her up. She asks if her mother is back but Ryan tells her she’s not but she will be soon. He asks her to not be sad because then her teddy bear will be sad but Paloma tells him that he has a friend, Ryan, and she named her other teddy bear after him because he gave it to her. Ryan smiles and Paloma asks if he’s sad. Ryan nods and tells her he lost something valuable to him: a piece of his heart. Paloma knows how to find the piece he lost and asks him to close his eyes. Paloma rubs her nose against his and asks him to make a wish. He obliges as Rosario comes in and asks if he knows anything new. Ryan shakes his head.
• Laustela and Leticia find her way to Chavalin’s establishment. He offers them food and drink but Leticia is too nervous to eat. Laustela tells her everything will be fine but Leticia explains that things are scarier in the US than Mexico. Chavalin and Laustela nod but he tells Leticia that it’s hard in the beginning but she came to the US for a reasons, her children, and she needs to power through. He then offers her a room in the back and Leticia nods as Chavalin tells her that he will cook up a new identity for her. He then tells Laustela to go home to Paloma, who must miss her terribly. Laustela nods.
• Rosario demands Ryan look for Laustela but he asks her to calm down. As Rosario calls him heartless, Laustela walks in through the front door and Rosario goes to hug her. Ryan then asks her where they took her but Laustela wants to go visit Paloma before anything. Rosario goes to get Paloma as Ryan asks Laustela where ICE took her. Laustela explains that she needs to make sense of what happened first before telling him. Ryan understands and apologizes for leaving her alone at the festival. Laustela shakes her head and thanks him for worrying about her. She tells him that it’s nice to know someone out there is holding out a light for her and won’t let her get lost. Ryan confesses that she is the light in his life and goes in to kiss her…
