Dead Men Rising
[Repeated Scene: Ryan brings good news to Laura—there is nothing left to connect her to the money laundering at Furia. Laura is relieved and gives Ryan a nice long hug. Their little celebration quickly gets stifled when the official comes in and tells them they have found five badly decomposed bodies on her property.] Rosario and Luisa, who have been standing close by are shocked and listen as Laura states that it must have happened before they moved in. The official advises them that the forensic team will need to complete their investigation. Ryan believes that Danilow must have been responsible since he lived there before and urges the investigator to go after him, but the official tells them that his division is responsible for the investigation, but they must wait for the forensic team to identify the bodies. When Luisa asks if they are safe or in danger, he tells them everything looks to be in order so they shouldn’t have to worry (with five dead spirits roaming outside the door). When the official advises Laura that she will have to make a statement, Laura agrees. Rosario is appalled that they have been living so close to dead bodies.
Raising the Bar...or the Stick…
At the Salgado mansion, Morgana stands crying before El Salgado who sits surrounded by his golden statues and vases. He tells Morgana that she should look on the bright side…if Danilow turned her over to him, he must not want her. He tells Morgana not to cry; he will treat her the way she deserves (I’d start worrying if I were her). He continues that he is old, but he can give her a life she has never imagined. Morgana wants to talk to Danilow so he can retract their agreement because she thinks it’s just not going to work out. Salgado summons her to get closer; he doesn’t bite (but the turtles might). He cautions her that she does not have an option because, right now, she is his and he is even starting to feel that he wants her. Morgana, who looks quite distressed, asks Sagrado if he is still able to…can he still…? Sagrado admits that he can’t move, but since she is young, she can always try (Morgana looks like she’s gonna barf).
A Crappy Surprise
Horacio is in Danilow’s hotel room as he wonders if Danilow is going to ask him about Morgana, but Danilow has other things on his mind; they need to find Estela. Horacio doesn’t think it should be too hard; all he has to do is follow Ryan. Danilow had already thought about that, but knows that Estela was in hiding for three years and knows very well how to protect herself. He is sure Asdrúbal knew an important secret, but now he has taken it to his grave. Danilow is certain Estela has all the money, so when he finds her, he will make her talk. When there is a knock on the door and “room service” is announced, they get apprehensive since neither one ordered anything. As Horacio goes to open the door, Danilow hides behind the room divider (such a tough guy!). After Horacio brings in the cart, he finds a message on the tray: “This is not a game. There are many of us who will go for you; return the money.” Horacio panics and knows it’s ‘them’ and they are coming for them (they’re coming to take us away, ha ha!), but Danilow laughs it off and thinks that what matters most is the dinner they sent. When he lifts the tray and sees a plateful of crap (maybe from Rain Stall?), he is NOT pleasantly surprised (did he really think he would find anything better?)
Golden Girl Gives Another Award-Winning Performance
Joe arrives at Estela’s apartment since she sounded so distressed when she called him. Estela asks him to sit down as she thanks him sooo much for coming. She needed someone to talk to because what she dreamed of for three years is going to the devil (hmmm, it’s going to her?). Since he is Ryan’s friend, she wants him to tell her if Ryan is really no longer interested in her. When Joe wonders why she thinks that, she explains that Ryan has been cold and distant toward her. Joe thinks she should understand—his mother’s condition worries Ryan since she is his only family…of course there is Danilow, but Ryan doesn’t consider him as family. After Estela asks about Mercy (as if she cares), Joe looks forlorn and tells her Mercy hasn’t improved. Estela leans over stroking his beard and tells Joe it pains her to see him so sad…even if she hasn’t known him very long, she cares about him. She lays it on thick and tells him he has already won a piece “right here”… she gets his hand and places it over her heart (which in reality is probably a ticking time bomb).
Joe stands up quickly and continues to tell Estela that Ryan is also worried about Furia. Ryan’s parents built it up and now it’s in shambles with a bad reputation…Danilow destroyed it. Estela is sure that Ryan will come out clean because there is no evidence against him. When Joe thinks she sounds too sure, he tells her that the knife she gave to Ryan (which he was supposed to turn in to the police, but hasn’t…whyyyy?) has her fingerprints and asks if she killed her father. Estella is surprised that he has the knife and asks if he is going to turn it in to the police. He responds that first he needs to know if she killed Pedro Carrillo. Estela spiels her sad story that EL Dorado had the knife as a trophy and told her exactly how he killed her father. When she found out that Ryan was going back to trial, she stole the knife from El Dorado, risking her oh so precious life just so she could give the knife to Ryan. She knew she might be blamed since her fingerprints were there, but she didn’t care…she did it for Ryan. She also knew people would think horrors about her…thinking that she killed her own father, but she adored her father. Estela just knows that Joe would have done the same thing...sacrifice himself for love, just as he has done for the love of an older woman.
I Smell a Skunk…
Laura thinks Danilow tipped off the police about the bodies so she could be considered as his accomplice in the murders, but Ryan thinks Danilow only spills his guts when it’s beneficial for him. As Ryan wonders who the dead are, Luisa brings in Genesis who says she came over as quickly as she could. When Luisa dismisses herself to go make the rounds to make sure no one gets near the ranch, Genesis babbles away and mentions how badly it smells outside. Laura informs her that the police were there and found five bodies on the property. Ryan tells Genesis he needs her help in handling the press in case they get through to try to get the scoop. Genesis quickly agrees, but worries that Laura’s ranch is dangerous. When Ryan says he plans to stay there, Laura assures him it’s not necessary. Luisa is there and she also knows how to protect herself and her family. Ryan urges her not to misinterpret his intentions; he is worried about Paloma, Rosario, and especially her since she is pregnant.
Time Is All I Need
Danilo has a video-conference with Salgado to ask for help with his other clients. When Salgado asks Danilow if he still owes a lot to his clients, Danilow confesses that he has the money, but he needs it to support the business and he needs his help to calm the clients down. Salgado understands Danilow’s game and advises him that if he wants to do well in this business, he needs to know when to ask for a pardon rather than to ask for permission. Danilow assures Salgado that the clients just need to have some patience and give him a couple of days. Horacio mentions to Salgado that the other clients will believe him, and Salgado of course agrees with him; he won’t leave his new associate hanging out to dry. When Danilow asks about Morgana, Salgado tells him she’s upset, but she’ll get over it. Salgado then gets back to the subject and tells Danilow they need to have a meeting with the clients there in Tijuana and Danilow needs to be present. When Salgado insinuates that Danilow might be scared that he will be sent to prison for the issues at Furia, Danilow reminds him that in this country, a person is innocent until proven guilty. He thinks the one that will go down is his brother since he was the one in charge of the accounts.
Golden Girl Wants Love at First Run
Estela watches TV as a reporter interviews Regia about her next concert. Regia announces that her festival will be at Los Primos. When Ryan arrives and asks if something is wrong, Estela puts on her pity-me-please face on and tells him she is locked up all day. When Ryan tells her she needs to find something to do with her life, Estela tells him he is her life and wants to start over somewhere else. Ryan reminds her he can’t leave with his mother being as ill as she is; furthermore, if he leaves, they will think he is running. After Ryan advises Estela that she can leave if she wants, Estela wonders what he is insinuating. Ryan thinks that their reencounter was only a crossroads and they need to follow different paths.
Estela knows that Ryan’s world is in turmoil right now…his mother, Laura’s pregnancy…and her return. She just can’t believe their story will end this way. Ryan reminds her that their story was interrupted three years ago when she disappeared, but Estela counters that Laura also showed up at that time…an ex-prostitute that was handed from man to man. Ryan yells at her to be quiet and leave things alone until after the festival at Los Primos. When Estela thinks that place was important to him, Ryan confides that when she left, his life was in chaos…he lived a life of drinking, partying and all-nighters. He hit bottom and it wasn’t until Steve took him to Los Primos that they helped him out of his hellhole. Estela never wanted him to go through that and apologizes, but Ryan doesn’t think it was her fault…he did it to himself. Their conversation is interrupted by a call from Steve who tells Ryan they need to talk.
Return of the Living Cousins
Jimmy listens intently to a news report that announces the show at Los Primos, then turns off the TV before Steve gets close. Steve comes and tells Jimmy he needs to return to LA since the situation with Sagrado seems to have calmed down. Steve plans to talk to Ryan and give him an explanation. Jimmy agrees and thinks it’s time to return to Los Primos. With a smirk, Jimmy tells Steve it’s time for him to get help and return to Los Primos for treatments. Steve thinks it would be best for Jimmy, too.
Powwow at Tijuana and an Iron Maiden in Distress
Salgado meets with Danilow’s clients and introduces the man they have been waiting so long to meet…El Dorado. As Danilow swaggers in, one of the clients chides Danilow for treating them as fools and wanting to keep their money. Salgado assures them that this is the real El Dorado and that he and his new associate will build the biggest money laundering operation they have ever known…they will make millions of dollars. When the client warns Danilow about failing them again, Danilow announces that he and his associate have started a new company, Golden Productions. He shares that he has secured many of the artists that were with Furia and they will be playing at the festival at Los Primos. Danilow guarantees that their pockets will be spilling over with squeaky clean money.
After the powwow, Salgado invites all the clients to go outside for drinks and celebrate. Danilow and Horacio, however, stay behind. Horacio wants to know why Danilow didn’t ask Salgado for help in killing Estela, but Danilow doesn’t want help, he wants to do the deed himself. As they walk outside to join the others, Morgana watches from the window of her ivory tower of hell and yells desperately to Danilow, but Danilow and Horacio keep walking and don’t hear her (and if they did hear her, they’d probably still keep walking).
A Time to Forget and Regret
Ryan and Steve meet. Ryan knows that Steve is not to blame for his brother’s debts. He knows Danilow forced him into turning over the shares. Ryan asks about Jimmy and Steve tells him he is very fragile. When Ryan can’t understand what they threatened him with, Steve evades responding. He tells Ryan it will only make him think of times he wants to forget...times that he is ashamed of. Ryan assures Steve that he can confide in him.
Golden Girl’s Last Card
At the El Dorado office, Estela is glad she didn’t burn all the documents Danilow brought her. She knew they would be of some good sooner or later. She orders Chula to take them and plant the evidence against Ryan at Furia. Chula warns her that those papers will surely be used against Ryan, but Estela clarifies that she would have done anything to keep Ryan from being suspected, but now she wants Ryan to drown and feel he has nowhere to turn…so he can feel obligated to run away with her. It’s her last card…and she’s going to play it.
Beware of the Boogeyman
Back at Laura’s ranch, Luisa tells Laura she has information she has been wanting to tell her, but hadn’t wanted to add to her worries. When Laura wonders what it could be, Luisa informs her that when she went to view Blake’s body, she noticed a tattoo that is associated with a supremacist group that includes members to the highest levels of power. When Laura wonders what that has to do with her, Luisa explains that this group will stop at nothing; they get even. Laura wonders if they will come after her for what she did to Blake, but Luisa knows they usually don’t go after the one that offends them...they will go after the offender’s people.
DAYS LATER…
Uni’s Promo Time…
Regia is performing the last concert of her tour sponsored by Metro PCS (with a neon sign no one can miss) in Houston. She thanks Metro PCS for allowing her to share her story and realize her dream. She is also glad that she was able to reach her fans in Mexico though Mexico Unlimited. After the concert, she meets with the Metro reps who praise her for her success and they take a picture.
A Family Affair
Sagrado tells Morgana to get closer as he sees that she is wearing the bracelet he gave her (which she didn’t bother to refuse knowing what she would have to repay with). When Salgado’s phone rings, he answers the call from Danilow who just wants to tell him that in a while he will go over to Los Primos to see how things are going. When Sagrado wants to know if there would be an opportunity to get some merchandise in there; he is sure their clients would appreciate it. Danilow assures him that he will check and let him know…Danilow sends him hugs (so smug!). As Sagrado hangs up and asks Morgana why she stays so far from him, his henchman brings in an envelope he received from Sagrado’s cop informant. It’s a report that indicates his grandnephews have been found. When Sagrado questions the information, the henchman assures Sagrado that the bodies found were those of his grandnephews since they were identified by the forensics report. The henchman also reveals that the bodies were found at Rancho El Adobe...a ranch that had been owned by Danilow, El Dorado. When Sagrado gets upset and leaves the study with the henchman, Morgana goes to the desk and looks at the pictures. She then remembers how Danilow killed Porfirio and Ursula (What to do? What to Do?).
Sometime later, Sagrado enters his study as Morgana hides behind a wall. He complains about how he would advise Porfirio not to branch out on his own, but Porfirio didn’t listen. Salgado calls out to Morgana because he knows she is there hiding. When she approaches, he demands to know what she knows about the deaths. When she stays quiet, Sagrado orders her to tell him what happened… he wants to know if Danilow killed his nephew and niece (speak now Morgana or forever keep your mouth shut; or they’ll shut it for you).
Morgana nervously tells Salgado that nothing would have happened if Porfirio hadn’t kidnapped an innocent child that Danilow felt obligated to protect. Salgado asks her if she expects him to believe that his nephew and niece were responsible for their own deaths…and they deserved to die. Morgana tries to explain about the trap Danilow set and how everything turned south, but Salgado peers at her with doubt. When the henchman asks who the other bodies were, Morgana can’t say because she wouldn’t know. Salgado doubts Morgana and asks her to explain how it is that she knows so many details if she wasn’t present during the killing. He doubts Danilow told her since Danilow doesn’t care for her. Morgana states that Calao was the one who told her all the details…Calao was taken with her and wanted to impress her. Salgado thinks awhile and figures that he should take over the new business Danilow has set up. He orders the henchman to send his sicarios to Los Primos and have Danilow killed in front of his band so they can have something to sing about. He wonders if he should believe Morgana.
LetMeTearDownWalls
Tadeo is at home on his way out while LetMe works on his costume. When she wonders if he is going to show up at the festival with those clothes that aren’t really fit for a show, LetMe shows him the jacket she is working on and tells him that she only wishes for his happiness. As they hug, Tadeo thanks her for understanding (finally). LetMe asks him to forgive her for being so slow to understand (so she knows!); that is a mother’s love and she loved him even before he arrived in this world; she has always loved him with all her heart. LetMe knows that Tadeo is a great man—gentle, caring, responsible, hardworking, a good son, and a good brother (she must be trying to make up for all the stupid things she said).
LetMe tells Tadeo that she is glad there are no barriers between them now as Maria enters. LetMe and Tadeo are pleasantly surprised and wonder who the beauty is that just walked in. Maria laughs and tells them that she was at the beauty parlor because she wanted a popular style for Latinas…Latinas are superhot. When LetMe warns her to be careful, Maria assures her that all she wants now is to study so she can get ahead in life. When Maria begs to go see Tadeo play at the Los Primos show, LetMe allows it.
Mercy Forgives But Doesn’t Forget
Mercy wakes at the hospital to find Joe sitting by her bed. Joe asks her for her forgiveness. He didn’t know what he was thinking when he sent that message to Walter; had he known the damage it would cause, he would never had done it. Joe kisses her hand and when he sees Mercy is smiling, he tries to kiss her, but she turns away and shakes her head. Joe takes that as a sign that Mercy has forgiven him and that it’s all over between them. Mercy nods. Joe has a look of acceptance and tells her it is important for her to know that Furia is under investigation, but Ryan is clear...Ryan also hopes they will all be cleared. Joe hopes that they can survive all of Danilow’s misdeeds. As Mercy strokes his hand with her finger, he tells her he also found out something, but will tell her later when she is fully recovered.
A Festival of Omens
Ryan welcomes the crowd to the festival and to Los Primos, a place that was chosen for the Festival of Hispanic Music Producers. He then introduces La Regia who walks out; and as she does, Ryan walks to her and tells her it will be a beautiful day. She welcomes the crowd.
Meanwhile, backstage, Jimmy walks to the pile of instrument cases and adds his own instrument case. Luisa sees him, but he stares back and snarls that it’s just a guitar. As Luisa turns to leave, she notices Jimmy’s tattoo, but still walks away.
Back on stage, Regia starts her message of working hard and being proud of oneself while Steve and Jimmy walk through the crowd toward Ryan who has Paloma on his shoulders. Once they meet up, Steve gives Ryan a hug and stays as Jimmy backtracks and leaves.
Danilow and Horacio are arriving and as they walk they converse about the investigation at Furia and how Ryan will be the one to perish especially with the item Danilow delivered. When Horacio mentions that the police have some incriminating evidence, Danilow assumes Estela was behind it (and he is right). As they talk, Morgana calls Danilow and reminds him that El Sagrado’s name is Silverio Piñeda…and asks if that name sounds familiar. Danilow thinks the last name sounds familiar…and the light finally goes on. Danilow thinks she’s joking, but Morgana doesn’t have time for jokes because Silverio found out he killed part of his family and has sent his sicarios to kill him. (Danilo knows he’s in deep doo doo and it’s going to take more than his gun and a paddle to take him out.)
Luisa walks the grounds and notices two security guards rushing in through two other civilians. As she starts walking away, Estela appears from behind a structure (she looks like one of those spies in a B movie).
While Regia is singing her little heart out, Ryan spots Estela. He hands Paloma over to Rosario and goes to ask what she is doing there. Estela tells him that she came for him and that they need to leave…right now! They have evidence that will ruin him. He drags her away from the crowd.
Meanwhile, Jimmy is at the instruments as he slowly opens the case he brought in and exposes a rifle. He turns to give a quick nefarious look.
As Ryan pulls Estela away from the crowd, Estela tries to convince him to leave with her, but he stops her and tells her he had something he wanted to tell her later, but he’ll go ahead and tell her now. Since they caught Laura at the apartment and Laura accused her of being El Dorado, he has been seriously bothering him. He remembers how Laura tells him Estela is El Dorado and he didn’t believe her. Estela tells Laura that she is doing this because she is hurt and it’s her fault she returned the very same day they got married. When Ryan questions how she knew they had gotten married that day, if, supposedly, she was locked away, Estela tells him she probably heard it from someone after he rescued her, but Ryan denounces her saying that he and Laura were very careful to keep that from her so as not to upset her (go, Ryan, go!). Ryan questions how she paid for everything she bought when she didn’t have very much money…the money he gave her couldn’t have been enough for everything she bought. He also questions how she quickly lost her fear of El Dorado capturing her again. The last question Ryan poses is how she sent the large donation to Los Primos on the exact day that he arrived there. He wants an explanation for all these things, but when Estela tells him she will explain everything she has been hiding later, he confesses that he has been hiding things too. If he returned to her, it was just to see how far she would go. He wanted to reveal her own double life (Woohoo, Ryan!! You just didn’t fool her, you fooled several of us!)
In the meantime, Regia finishes up her song and introduces Tadeo who starts singing as Danilow and Horacio continue conversing. When Danilow asks Horacio if he has seen Estela Carrillo, Horacio urges him to give it up, but Danilow insists he has to find her. From a distance, Salgado’s sicario spots Danilow and talks into his earpiece. He says that at that precise moment, he is looking at El Dorado.
Within the crowd, Steve goes up to Genesis and tells her he was looking for her. When she starts to scold him, he kisses her and tells her he has so many things to tell her. They kiss passionately and start dancing together.
Estela insists that Ryan tell her what to do to get him to believe her. She admits that her father ordered her to launder money, but she fell in luurve with him. When Ryan asks her why her father wanted to separate them, Estela says she doesn’t know. Ryan warns her that nothing she can say will remove the idea that she is truly El Dorado from his mind. After Estela reminds him that he was in danger since the first day they met, he demands to know why she didn’t tell him that her father wanted to kill him…he wonders if the money was more important to her than the love she supposedly had for him. He mentions that it was just her luck that Laura appeared at just the right time; and Estela retorts that she knows all about the lies to keep him from going to jail. Ryan counters that those lies turned to the truth…a true love…a strong love that was stronger than the love he had for her. Estela is sure that when Laura used her name, Ryan thought about her and felt her close, but Ryan thinks the name is the least of it. Ryan cannot conceive her reason for a double life and suggests that, if she really loves him, she will turn herself in to the authorities.
Ryan starts to walk away when he sees Danilow and chides him for having the balls to show up there. When Dan doesn’t think he should care, Ryan wonders why he is there…is it to finish destroying what his father built. Danilow boasts that he is going to start the biggest production company since Furia is in ruins. Ryan admonishes him for trying to realize his fantasy of being someone with power when in reality he knows he is a nobody. Ryan warns him that no matter how much he tries to convince himself, he will never amount to anything. As Danilow starts to tell Ryan to go to hell, Ryan grabs him and pushes him down right before Sagrado’s henchman shoots at Danilow.
(Did Ryan save Danilow? Is that the end of Danilow…or was he wearing his bulletproof skull vest? Is that the end of the henchman because he didn’t follow orders and (try to) kill Dani in front of his ban? Will Luisa stop Jimmy? Will Regia find out what’s really going on while she is singin’ and dancin’? Will Morgana perform a miracle?? Stay tuned for the beginning of the end…)

So Danilow...dead or alive?? Would they kill him off right before the finale?
Thanks RG, I have more reading to do.
Oh and I plugged in Rain Stall :-)
Thank you, RGV! Great as always, especially in your description of Ryan confronting Estela. He did full several of us (myself included).
I was just thinking last night...only 2 more episodes and Laura isn't even showing yet. Will she ever have her baby...or will she have to wait till the 2nd season?? poor thing!
Maaaan, when Estella had Joe's hand pressed onto her "HEART", which is partially covered by that big bloob I halfway expected her to grab his other hand and say: "Since you already got yore hands on me can you check and see if I need to go to the bathroom too? Rrrrr." #checkmypu....lse
I actually thought Regia's song performed in Houston was pretty good. Although they all sound the same after a while and that Toobba, sounds like a freight train passing gas. And didn't Helen Reddy already sing about roaring or something? yawn
So do you doubters take back those mean things you said about Ryan? He just (with good reason) didn't tell Laura his plan. It is understandable though, the Spanish talk a million miles an hour endlessly and never tell each other ANY---THING ! #gladtobegringo
Stupid Morgana (lifesupportforabeaver) gets a phone and calls DaniLow and warns him? Is that her way of thanking him for selling her into slavery? dumbdumbdumb
"he tells them everything looks to be in order so they shouldn’t have to worry (with five dead spirits roaming outside the door)", "what she dreamed of for three years is going to the devil (hmmm, it’s going to her?)" and "she gets his hand and places it over her heart (which in reality is probably a ticking time bomb)" were among many favorites.
For the first time, I felt things were a bit disjointed and choppy. The crucial elements and character were present and there was much movement in Danilo and Morgna's storyline. Yet, all the "action" regarding Estela just felt flat to me. Without someone manipulating behind the scenes, Estela as the mastermind is just not believable. She is fueled by emotion, not logic. Instead of cool and collected, she is vengeful and emotional. This is NOT the El Dorado we've been led to believe existed.
I had high hopes and expectations for Joe's storyline as well. Could he have been the Wizard of Oz behind the curtain? Apparently not. He seems to be just a peripheral rather than the central character he might have been.
"He tells Morgana not to cry; he will treat her the way she deserves (I’d start worrying if I were her)" perfectly encapsulated the revulsion we feel for this lecherous individual. Cringe worthy.
In spite of Danilo feeding her to the wolf, she did not reciprocate in kind as she tried to warn him. I have to admit that I kind of enjoy the fact Dan is not cowering in the corner in fear, even though his last supporter has now turned against him.
"When Ryan tells her she needs to find something to do with her life". Huh?? Ryan, I don't think she will have much opportunity for a career or any other extracurricular activities behind bars (if she makes it through this alive).
I'm not convinced this is going to a second series. If Danilo dies, what would be the point? Estela's situation will likely be resolved in the next two episodes so unless Laura and Ryan are going to encounter a whole nother set of disasters (the triple life of Estela?) I just don't see it happening.
Kirby, the previews passed so quickly, I can't remember anything. Perhaps it is for the best...
Rgv Chick, what a pleasure it is reading your exceptional recaps! Thank you for your thoughtful, clever narratives.

"Good, Ryan, I just had to kinda be gone for a while."
"Oh really, why, Buddy?"
"Well, I'd rather not say, "
"Oh, well, OK then."
"Yeah, I did some really bad things a while back and I need to tell you."
"OK, I'm your friend, you can tell me. I don't judge my friends."
"No I can't say, it was really awful. I'm ashamed Ryan."
"Well if you'd prefer not to say, it is OK. But if you ever..."
"Yeah Thanks I really need to tell you about this shit."
"OK, I'm all ears, Steve. Shoot."
"Well, maybe not , not now."
AAAARRRRRGHHH See What I mean?
A Gringo would say:"Hey Ryan, I was in this skinhead group before you knew me and we roughed up some beaners one time."
"Ooohhh Buddy that's bad, Thanks for telling me."
Diana
Kirby, "So do you doubters take back those mean things you said about Ryan?" I added some hopeos and ate my words...didn't taste too bad :-)
I ditto Diana on your pic....marvelous soothing water and colors. Thank You!!
There is something about water, whether sloshing up on shore or falling from the sky.
The envy of all my buddies until they find out it tried to kill me.
Beautiful but a lot of plastic up front.
Unreliable. You never know if you are going to get there or not.
"The envy of all my buddies until they find out it tried to kill me. Beautiful but a lot of plastic up front" had me smiling Kirby.

These random attacks, slaughtering innocent people, is sobering and sickening.
I am praying as well.

RGV Chick: I hope the Spanish government cracks down on these terrorists & wipe them off the map!
OK so didn't see last night and haven't had a chance to read, but two thoughts on Tuesday's episode:
1. Rgv Chick reposted my thought that Joe could be a Carrillo. Thanks, Rgv! I don't know if anything has happened yet to disprove that, but I got really suspicious when Joe asked Laura to hand over the knife.
2. The look on Horacio's face during the whole deal of tricking Morgana into going with him to Sagrado's place. He looked like he regretted it, dreaded it, didn't want to do it, was ashamed of himself, etc. but when it came time to tell her the bad news, he did it with gusto. He's alarmingly pragmatic. Actually, that puts the hotel room scene with the two women and Tadeo into a different perspective as well. He will literally do ANYTHING for his job, and he will even convince himself to like it.
3. (I can't count) Sagrado's place is full of dead wild animals. (Reminds me a little bit of Blake with the butterflies.) He is all about "taming" beauty things even if destroying them is the only way to do so. It sounds like he hasn't harmed Morgana yet, but I don't think he'll be a benevolent master.
By the way, Adriana, in defense of Amor Bravio, the writers put a nasty fish-hook into poor Daniel. Miriam showed up with a possible aneurysm and they were told she must not suffer any kind of shock. Daniel avoided having sex with her, but that should have been enough of a shock to her since they were supposed to be so in love. My heart ached for both of them--but more for Camila because Dan had a daughter to get to know. It all got straightened out in the end with an unbelievable last few episodes. Nonetheless, it's among my very tippy top favorites.
I'll be away for another week--without a computer.....putting me even further behind, but I'm still with you in spirit.
FWIW--Back on 8/4, I agree, Estela has to be ED and as you all noted, she displayed few mafia-like organization and management skills, although she displayed plenty of her assets.
Two thoughts:
So Ryan couldn't stand it any longer and just had to blurt out that he was stringing Estella along to get at the truth? Uh, the truth isn't out yet. I guess now she will go BSC.
Morgana is nuts to warn Danilo after what he did to her. He really is a golden boy. Someone always has his back, no matter what he does.
OT/BTW--I finally e-mailed Vivi in DC and she replied right away. She recently changed jobs, from one she loved (they were eliminating positions), to working with a consulting firm. She's doing fine. She's giving herself a break from social media, TV and Caray. She hasn't abandoned us completely and we might be hearing from her again soon. We're going to get together after I get back from our Sackets Harbor Week (in Upstate NY just a few steps away from the shores of Lake Ontario).
I see from the last few comments here that in 10 days the more things ought to change, the more they stay pretty stagnant.
You all have convinced me to check in on Ramon.

Niecie, ITA that Ryan jumped the gun on calling out Estela, but maybe he wasn't really looking for conclusive evidence that she was El D; maybe he just wanted enough to convince himself. OTOH, he did say he needed to find El D before Danilow so he could clear Furia...so, yeah, definitely jumped the gun in that case.
Anita, always good to hear from you and thanks for the update on Vivi. Please convey my wishes for all the best in her new job.
Steve, the 5 bodies found on the property were already in your body count--it was Porfirio and Ursula Pineda, their 2 henchman from Cartel Los Altos, and I'm pretty sure the 5th one was Dr. Fragoso.

Alfredo this outstanding recap brought
Out the luster in this episode. Now did
Ryan catch the bullet for his good for
Nothin bro? It didn't look like it, so
We'll find out later.
Can y'all believe The straight face estela Has when she lies? Why is Joe
So accommodating to this heffa? Puttin
His hand on her breast and callin it her heart. I think she over estimates
Her appeal. It certainly don't effect
Ryan anymore,I don't think it has for quit Awhile. From what he said hes been
Watchin her clock since Laura outted her to him.I kinda hada feelin he was.
Good for you ryan, Now kick her lying
Moneywashin daddykillin manipulating
Ass to the DEA.If you didn't catch the
Bullet for your no-acount-1/2bro. Who
He don't consider family cuz he ain't.
Are they gonna do a time laps thing so
Mercy can get better so she can meat
Her son/daughter. I really hope estela
Is not her daughter. Ryan asked her why her father didn't want them together, that set off some bells and
Whistles. And again she lied "I don't
Know".For somebody that passes herself
Off as Being smart, she dumb. And she's Not that good of an actress either.Did
I mention how much I don't like this bwitch?
I hope these last two nights aren't a big disappointment
Thank you Alfredo.
I don't think Ryan has plans to turn Estela in since he suggested she to do it herself...maybe because he has no real evidence...just his own conclusions.
I sure hope they do a significant time lapse so Laura can have her baby!
It is mostly unique to TV people though. Not many people can get away with this in real life.
Julie, sounds like you had a blast! But I was unnerved by your comment on Sagrado's desire to "tame" things. I am afraid you are right! I didn't think Morgana could ever make me pity her. I was wrong. Also, I am very distracted by the lion - is it real? I keep staring in horrid fascination.
Ryan did poke the snake (so to speak) by telling Estela how he feels about her, Niecie. And yes, hell hath no fury like Estela scorned. She has such an overinflated ego, doesn't she?
"Ryan asked her why her father didn't want them together, that set off some bells and
Whistles. Hmmm, Nina...
"maybe she's hopeoing for one of your Oscars". :) Rgv Chick.
Diana
Is tomorrow night 2 hours?
Anita, great to see you here. Thanks for the word on Vivi just taking a break.
Julie, every ride you wanted? You must be exhausted.
15 minutes to showdown. I'm betting Danilo survives to Part 2, if there is one. Mala hierba nunca muere.
I was disappointed that Danilo gave Morgana up so easily. I figured he'd probably let Sagrado have her, but I had hoped he'd at least make a counteroffer first.
Diana, I don't think the lion is real! A real one would be extremely expensive.
(Unless you meant, is the lion prop playing the role of a real lion. I think we're supposed to assume that it's real.)
I did have a blast and Niecie, yes I am exhausted. I got through today okay at work, but it's catching up with me now. My BIL had to take the day off. Funny how we can do something all day long and not think it's a problem, only to crash the next day!
