La Candidata, Capítulo 61; Thursday September 7, 2017: Grande Finale, Part 1

Previously, the last thing we heard at Casa Barcenas was a single gunshot and sirens in the background before the scene faded to dark. This episode begins with the SWAT team everywhere, reporters abound, and chaos seems to ensue. The only inside shot we see is what appears to be Noemi sitting on the floor with blood on her abdomen. Reporters do not know who has been shot. Was it Regina? Who? We see Cecelia coming through trying to find out what happened, but the police are not letting her through. We see a gurney being taken to a waiting ambulance. Finally we see Noemi walk out escorted by a paramedic. Finally, we see Regina walk out. Both appear shaken, have blood splatter, but safe and unharmed. Cecelia looks at Regina, closes her eyes as they tear up.

Meanwhile, Escalante is in Alonso’s office with “El Chulo”. Alonso wants to know why he is supporting Regina when she cannot win. Alonso says he is the one who will be the next President. Besides, (they all laugh) who is going to vote for a woman? Escalante glances at his phone and says, “Hey, maybe your words are prophetic here.” Alonso is puzzled and says, “What do you mean by that?” Escalante explains that it is all over the news that there was a shooting at Casa Barcenas and it looks like someone is dead. Alonso then asks who was there. Escalante then says that Regina was there with her mother. As he looks down at his phone he says, “Mario was the shooter, but they don’t know who was shot.” Alonso looks very worried, but El Chulo sits there and takes another swig of his whiskey.

Gerardo frantically looks for Ximena at the abortion clinic. Finally he finds her sitting on a chair. She explains she couldn’t go through with the abortion as he hugs her.

At the hospital, Regina is with Noemi as Cecelia walks in. But Noemi wants nothing to do with her and Regina asks her to leave the area since it hurts her mother so much. Hernán arrives and escorts her elsewhere.

Regina explains to her mother that she wants to put her up in a hotel to rest. However, Noemi has other ideas. She wants to stay at the hospital. After all, this is her husband.

Cecelia talks to doctors and wants to if they can save her father. They explain that they need to remove the bullet, he is in critical condition but don’t hold out much hope. Hernán takes Cecelia in his arms as she cries.

Alonso arrives at the hospital as Regina hugs her son, but Regina tells him that she doesn’t want to see him. Then he explains that his own father died a few hours ago. He asks one last favor of her: He doesn’t want to be alone at the burial. Regina just looks at him and shakes her head. (She obviously can’t think about this right now.) Then officials come and save her from this situation and ask her to give her statement regarding what happened with her father.

Ignacio comes home to a gun at his head. Chulo is there and Ignacio observes Andrés down flat on the floor. Chulo says he is still alive for now. Chulo, waving his gun in the air says he hates traitors and wants to know who has talked about Escalante working with the narcos. Chulo keeps hitting him with his gun, threatening Iggy’s life. He puts the gun between his eyes and wants to know if Regina knows about him and Escalante. Iggy, scared out of his wits, denies everything and says “please believe me, I have told no one!”  Chulo shoots off his gun in the house another couple of times.

Back at the hospital, Alonso harasses Emiliano concerning Ximena’s being pregnant. But Emi stands up to him saying, “What part of I no longer want you in my life do you not understand?” Alonso tells him to lower his voice because this place is full of reporters. “Of course” says Emi. “Everything is about appearances for you. But you can hide things, cheat, and lie. But you can no longer count on me for that Father.” He turns away from Alonso and says, “I’m going to go check on my grandmother now.”

Gerardo then arrives and asks Emi how his mother is. “She is giving her statement right now.” He turns away and says, “I’ll see you soon.”

Then Alonso stops Gerardo. “So what do you want?” Alonso says, “Before you go see Regina, you and I need to talk.” Gerardo says, “Look, I’ll talk with you when I feel like it.” Alonso is getting angry now and says to him, “You are going to listen to me if you don’t want her killed.” Gerardo is now very angry himself and grabs Alonso by his suitcoat but then releases when Alonso says, “let go of me!” Alonso tells him he must listen if…But Gerardo says he wants nothing to do with him. “You are going to regret this!” says Alonso.

Gerardo finally finds Regina in her blood soaked dress and hugs her, asking her how she feels. Regina starts to say, “I don’t know how this man who gave me my life….” She breaks down in tears recalling the gun.

Cecelia finds Alonso at the hospital and she says she needs to talk to him. “Alonso, did you ever love me?”

“Love you? Are you kidding? You are very pretty, but very destructive. You have done all sorts of dark things. But you know what? I have not stopped loving Regina, not even for a second.”

“But I do love you, Alonso.”

“No, I don’t think you know what love is. You just use your body to get what you want. I don’t want you getting close to me ever again. More than that, stay away from Emiliano. Excuse me.”

Cecelia seems to know the gravity of what she has done looks over at Hernán who just looks at her and puts out his arms to his side and walks away.

Gerardo continues to talk with Regina when he receives a phone call from Mauro. “It’s very urgent that you come and see me in my office now”, says Mauro. Gerardo hangs up and tells Regina he needs to go see Mauro and will be back.

At Mauro’s office, he explains to Gerardo that he has information concerning Alonso that he will attack and extort from them. Mauro explains to Gerardo that they all have to be much more intelligent regarding this situation. “Regina does not understand about playing dirty. But if she doesn’t do it, she cannot win in the political arena. Someone has to dirty their hands.” Gerardo just looks at him and says, “If you want to give me this information, I will be appreciative, but I will not accept conditions on it.”

Ochoa and the goons show up at Alonso’s home with guns in hand. Alonso looks down and says, “Ochoa, you have come to kill me, haven’t you?” Ochoa then explains: “The President does not want Mauro to continue as Governor. There are a lot of dirty things going on right now and Mauro is now supporting Regina.”

“Now what?” says Alonso.

Ochoa goes on, “We now have two problems. We have to get Mauro out of the way to make sure that Regina does not win. The powers from above don’t want her. If she does win, it’s going to be one big headache.”

“What do you want from me?” says Alonso. “The people with the power can do what they want to.”

So Ochoa explains, “The people in power will be the ones who will support you. They do not want things to change and they want you to become President.”

Alonso stands up, facing Ochoa, he finally says: “Then now, it looks like you are all finally understanding me, so let me be clear about this. I will have to do this all myself.”

Ochoa then says, “We cannot go up against the Governor ourselves, it’s just too dangerous. But we know you have friends who can get the job done. Once that is accomplished, we can be back to normal with the organized crime.”

Alonso then says, “So the evidence that Gerardo Martinez has, you can take care of. The rest, I’ll take care of.”

Back at the hospital, Emi encounters his mother again. Regina asks if he had a problem with Gerardo. Emi says, “I really prefer not to talk about it right now.” Regina says, “It’s critical, isn’t it?” Emi says, “There have been so many things happening, maybe this isn’t the right time.” However Regina says that BECAUSE so many things are happening, right now just happens to be the right time, so spill it out. If something else bad is going to happen, I might as well find out about it now.

Emi says, “Ximena is pregnant. She wants to have an abortion. I just want to talk with her and let her know that she can trust me and I will support her in what she needs to do. Mother, you can believe in me now.” Regina says, “Well that’s a good start.” They turn around to leave.

That evening, Regina is at a hotel on the phone with Daniela. Apparently, Daniela has checked on Noemi and everything is alright. Gerardo walks in, but Regina looks at him seriously and says, “Why did you not tell me about what happened with our children?”  “Oh so you found out?” says Gerardo. “So when did you plan on telling me? Were you going to wait till things got very late?” But Gerardo explains that he just found out himself that day. “I did not know how to tell you, considering everything that happened today.” Regina nodded her head and said, “I know. Emiliano told me.” Gerardo then remarks that Emi is a very responsible young man. Regina apologizes for complaining. Gerardo says, “I don’t know what they are both going to do.” Regina says they have to mature and be responsible if they have this baby. They then start joking about being grandparents, growing old, wrinkled and toothless. Gerardo asks where Emiliano is. Regina says he is out with Ximena letting her know that he is there to support her.

Alonso arrives at his father’s home and is met by his mother. “What are you doing here? Why aren’t you with my father?”

“Why would I be? You just killed him!”

“He was already dead. I just cut things short. All you wanted to do was leave him there, so you could get back at him.”

“I wasn’t going to make any kind of decision without consulting you.”

“Of course not. You never made a decision. All you ever did was reproach him, complain about him, and go to bed with whoever you want to.”

“Enough of that! Your father just died!”

“Exactly! Have you already ordered all the preparations for his funeral?”

“I’m going to talk to the funeral director. Leave me alone.”

“You made the wrong decision. My father is going to have a dignified funeral and a proper burial for someone whose son is going to be the next President of Mexico. And you are going to be there to keep up appearances. Maybe you can look like the lady you once were.”

At this point Natalia is very angry, comes down the stairs and says, “I put up with EVERYTHING your father did because you asked me to. I wanted to divorce him but you did not permit it because it wouldn’t look good to the electorate. I’m tired of all this ‘just for appearances’, you don’t seem to care that this almost took my life.”
“My father and I were exactly the same. Yes we are! And the only thing that seems to interest you is to go to bed with men that are young enough to be your sons!”

At this point, Natalia slaps Alonso across the face. He angrily turns to her and says, “Get rid of that guy from this house and from your life. If you don’t do that, I am going to fulfill my father’s wish. I’ll have you killed. I have warned you! I expect to see you tomorrow at the funeral!” (What a guy, what a son!) Alonso angrily walks out.

The next day the funeral for Omar is held. Everyone is in attendance. Alonso looks back at Mauro. Noemi puts out her hand to Natalia. Alonso turns to Magda and says, “I want you to talk to my mother. I want the will for my father read as soon as possible.”

Over at Ignacio’s house, he talks seriously with beat up, injured Andrés about keeping quiet about what they know about Escalante because their lives are at risk. “Are we clear about this?” says Ignacio. Andrés just looks up at him.

As Regina leaves from the gravesite, Alonso catches up with her and thanks her for coming. “I didn’t do it for me. I did it for Natalia and my son.”

Alonso says, “But you and Emiliano are my family. I’m always going to take care of you.”

Regina shakes her head to say, “No, no, no.”

“Look” says Alonso. “I really didn’t want to argue. I just want you to know that everything I ever did, I did it for us. And if you want me to say that it’s all my fault, okay, then I accept all that responsibility. Just please, don’t take away my son Emiliano.”

Regina shakes her head again and says, “I have never pitted Emiliano against you. And if your son is as important as you say he is, don’t use him for the campaign. You can attack me in whatever way you want. But for Emi, keep him out of things.” Alonso finally agrees to do that and Regina walks away.

Regina goes on to Hernán’s talk show where he is interviewing her about her father’s activities. She tearfully explains that she had no idea that this man who she loved, who gave her life, who is her father, lived this double life that hurt so many people’s lives. She explains how ashamed she is of her father who was involved in so much corruption, and here she was standing against corruption, while it was right there in front of her. So she feels a lot of responsibility for this. Hernán then asks her about how difficult it was to report her father to the authorities. She responded by saying it was, but it was the right thing to do because no one is above the law. She was never going to endorse what he did. Hernán next asked her about what Alonso thought about this and Regina responded by saying she was surprised he has distanced himself from it.

Next during the interview, Hernán asked her about the sister she just found out about. “Yes, Cecelia Aguilar. I’m going to do everything in my power to make sure that she gets recognized with our surname.” Cecelia is watching the interview and whispers tearfully to herself, “Cecelia Barcenas. Cecelia Barcenas.” Her doorbell rings. Some officials come in and say she has to come with them. She tries to hide cocaine, but they are not looking for that. They are arresting her for being an accessory to her father’s crimes.

At the hospital, the doctor does not have good news for Noemi. “Did he die?”
“No he did not die. But his injuries have caused him to be a quadriplegic.”

At Alonso’s office, he hands Gerardo two flash drives. One has the video of him and Regina making whoppee, the other has Ximena buying drugs for Nayeli. He explains that this was a trap set by Mario. “Now you have all the evidence against me in this government. Gerardo tells him, “Do you really think that Regina is going to sit there with her arms folded?” Alonso warns him that this investigation ends right here, unless he wants to die. “I don’t care what happens to me.” says Gerardo. “I don’t’ care what happens to you either” says Alonso. “I only care what happens to Regina.”

“I don’t understand why Regina would be in such danger if I have the evidence.”

Alonso goes on to explain that the powers that be are in control of everything. The banks, the corporations…”we are just their little monkeys. You should not be under the impression that the vote counts for anything or that anything can change.”

Gerardo says, “Yes, things can change.”

Alonso tells him he is naïve and that he (Alonso) is the only one of them that knows how to play the game.

In Mauro’s office, Franco and Mauro are discussing what Mauro wants to do.

“Mauro, you have gone crazy!”

“I’m more sure now than ever. Listen to me because I have very little time. I have given Gerardo Martinez all the evidence he needs that involves the wrongs that Alonso has done. The problem is, that all of that also incriminates me too.”

“Do you know what this means?” says Franco.

“Of course! That is why I have to leave the country. I want you to come with me.” Franco looks away, but Mauro says, “Franco, look at me. I want to start a new life together, away from all this hypocrisy.”

“I’m not going to abandon my family, my business, just to escape with you, like two adolescents.”

“Franco, you very well know that your family is all a lie. And your business, it’s all run by narcos. I am preparing everything to leave. I will leave on with an official pretext, but I’m not coming back.”

After the interview, Escalante approaches Regina to let her know that Cecelia has been arrested. He explains that she was arrested on the fact that she was involved with her father’s illegal activities. Regina remarks that she does not know to what extent it may have been, but knows that her father manipulated everyone. Hernán says, “Is he going to help?” Regina says she was going to talk with the authorities about the situation to see what can be done. However, Escalante does not want her to involve herself in that because her father’s legacy will be sticking to her. “It’s not about me, it’s about the law”, says Regina. “Everyone who breaks the law needs to pay for their actions.”

Gerardo comes to Ignacio’s house and asks what happened. They get into an argument about what happened but Andrés won’t keep his mouth shut. Gerardo turns to Ignacio and says, “You mean to tell me that Regina’s campaign is being financed by narcos???” Ignacio gets very angry with Andrés and yells that they are all going to be killed.

At Natalia’s home, Jose notices that she has been distant toward him ever since Alonso left. He asks if there is anything going on that he needs to know. She turns to him and says, “It’s that I don’t know how to do this. Our relationship has been marvelous, but we have to be realistic. Our relationship is really expiring. I would have to pretend that I don’t care about our age difference. I just can’t abandon everything to go with you.” Jose offers to stay with her right there. Natalia then says, “Jose, I’m sorry. We have to end it now. It was a beautiful adventure. But now, we each have to go our separate ways in our lives.”

Jose said, “It was the most beautiful time in my life.” He kisses her and leaves.

Noemi enters Mario’s hospital room. As the music plays, she says, “Mario, listen to me. You can’t move, you can’t talk. You won’t be able to walk. You are a vegetable. All these years you have denigrated me, humiliated me, cheated on me and used me, but now you will have to absolutely depend on me for the rest of your life. I’m not going anyplace either until you die, my love.”

**I would like to say a big THANK YOU to my fellow recappers for being part of this amazing team. Thank you especially to Urban, who kept us all properly scheduled and organized. Thank you to Alfredo, Sandie, Anita, and Jarifa for all your work and dedication to writing on your assigned days. It’s been an amazing ride on this TN. I kind of wish there would be a season 2 for this story and make it about Regina’s presidency (assuming she wins). Tonight will tell us how it all pans out!***

Great work, Cynthia.

So Mario will be a prisoner of his own body. Not a bad choice for the writers to make, since this has to be worse than any prison sentence that could be imposed on him. He will be at Noemi's mercy. No escape.

It also looks like Natalia doesn't catch a break either. While her relationship with Jose would have an expiration date on it Alonso forcing the end is cruel, patriarchal, and nasty. For her to be a slave to his corrupt career after a hellish marriage to Omar is.... I can't use that language here. Why the hell did she ever marry Omar in the first place?

How the hell can Alonso even say that he never stopped loving Regina when he cheated on her for so long? Unless this is a lie that he's telling Cecelia to get her off his back, which makes story sense here.

More later.

UA: Alonso IS going to be the next President of the United Mexican States!

Cynthia: No Happy Ending for anyone!

Thank you, Cynthia, the recap is wonderful. You sure did this episode justice.

I am liking how quickly this is wrapping up. Now as for "just" endings for our characters, I think that Mario's situation is perfect, sort of a hell on earth. I think Noemí is really going to enjoy reminding him daily that she is in control.

I believe Alonso when he says he has never stopped loving Regina (in his macho/paternalistic way). He can't control her so he cannot stand her but he still loves her. For him, his sex outside of marriage has nothing to do with it: it is the old double standard that he also applies to Natalia. At least Natalia got in that second slap. Not a just ending for her but there is one more episode, so who knows?

Ximena couldn't go through with the abortion but wants one? Sure. Emiliano will be a father.

Regina assuring that Cecilia would be recognized as Mario's daughter with his surname was just and longcoming. Maybe being in jail is safer for Cecilia in her fragile state.

Looks like Mauro is on his own.

Jarifa: Ximena will still find a way to get an abortion.

Thank you Cynthia, your recap explains some things I missed. I especially like this passage: "Meanwhile, Escalante is in Alonso’s office with “El Chulo”. Alonso wants to know why he is supporting Regina when she cannot win. Alonso says he is the one who will be the next President. Besides, (they all laugh) who is going to vote for a woman?" Again I like the actor playing Alonso who snickers happily.

I still don't understand what happened when the shot rang out. Was Mario trying to kill Regina, Noemi or himself? He got the bullet. Maybe it was deliberately obscure.

Escalante's observation was telling. He did not care who was in power. He could manipulate them. Alonso seems to think that this is the way that things will be and that Regina and Gerardo are too naive to understand how dirty politics is and how to play the game.

The funeral scene was well done. I've always been impressed by funeral scene of movies in England. There it is always raining and in the church yard everyone has brollies.

I am looking forward to the second part of the Gran Final.

I think the shooting was deliberately obscure. I've gone over it in my head a few times but I've been wondering whether Mario ultimately shot himself. I don't recall any lines about where the bullet landed but it had to have been the brain or the spine for him to become quadroplegic. There could have been a struggle. I have to admire Regina's cool in all that.

What value would his name give to Cecelia now? I don't see the obsession with it; this isn't 19th-century England we're dealing with. And Cecelia knows that Mario is a criminal.

Lynette: The likelihood is that Alonso will be the President of the United Mexican States!

BANK ON IT!

Steve, this is at least the third time you've posted that in the last two days. You've made your point.

Jarifa, if Alonso could control Regina he could not love her. There has to be respect for there to be love and you can't respect someone you can control. As to his infidelity, this has to be a Madonna/Whore thing with him, which makes no sense at all to anyone of reason. She was insulted by it, as she should be.

Hola a todos!
So this is my first time commenting because I have been at least a week behind for this whole novela (until now), but I want everyone to know how much I have appreciated your hard work in creating spectacular recaps and insightful comments. It has really made watching this novela (which is AMAZING) an even more incredible experience. I'm so excited to see how it will all wrap up and sad at the same time to see it end. I will be waiting impatiently for the next time Silvia Navarro graces our television screens!
As far as this episode goes (and again, thank you so much for the recap!), a couple of things I wanted to mention...
one not so important, but regarding Natalia and Alonso's conversation, Natalia said she was planning to skip the whole pomp and circumstance of the viewing/funeral/burial, which I think is completely understandable and exactly what I would have done. Alonso became upset at that, however, and told her once again she had made a bad decision and that there would definitely be a formal funeral...for appearances, of course, and because everything is always about his candidacy.
The second thing I wanted to mention...and maybe someone can go back and listen...is when Gerardo first saw Regina at the hospital and she was telling him what happened, I swear I heard something to the effect of "me quiso matar" at the very end, and in between sobs. That leads me to believe that Mario must have been serious pointing that gun at her and a struggle must have then ensued which lead to him being the one shot. Again, I can't be sure as I watch without CCs, but I thought that may be what she said.
Other than that, I just want to say this has been a wild ride and one of the best novelas I have ever watched. It makes it even better that MY last name is Barcenas!!
Ciao for now,
Isabel B.

Excellent recap of an exciting next-to-last episode, Cynthia! Well, 1 bad guy finally bites the dust, and it's worse than death. I agree with Jarifa that it's a fitting punishment for Mario. So, no abortion for Ximena. Not exactly unexpected, given that the writers, producers, etc., were probably thinking the audience's cultural norms would condemn it. At least Cecilia no longer has any illusions about Alonso, but he was remarkably cruel. Good for Natalia standing up for herself, and I thought she very nobly rejected José to save his life. Alonso is as bad at justifying his crimes as Mario is.

Thanks everyone! I'm sorry it turned out to be so darn long and was over 3000 words. So this recap turned out to be very involved and I hesitated cutting anything out on this episode that kept me at the edge of my seat.

I am wondering if Chulo has Iggy's house "bugged"? Especially because they were in Iggy's house and when Andres opened his mouth regarding the truth, Ignacio said they are now all going to die/be killed. If so, then there will be more dead characters in tonight's episode. Ugh....

I am counting on Regina winning tonight. She's the underdog in all this and she just may pull it off.

Cynthia thank you, you got such an involved episode and you more than did justice to it, so many things to still be cleared up.

I'm afraid that 45 minutes is not enough to close everything up. Or maybe it's just me wishing there was more than 45 minutes left.

Lynette you pin point the one passage that IMHO is center to the theme. The way the men in this TN view women, and maybe not just here, but that is a topic for another day. Alonso on one occasion told Regina that defying him was her mistake, how can she a "woman" expect to defeat a man and take the power that belongs to "men" away. Women in this TN were abused, neglected, used, raped, murdered, defiled, cheated on, lied to, and I could go on, where I'm getting at is that the ones with power were the men, the women such as Isela, Cecilia, Lorena only thought they had power, they were puppets in a man's world, only used long enough to extract all of their "juice" and then discarded. Perfect example is Mario using Cecilia until he knew he could get nothing more from her. Escalante using Lorena, etc., etc.
It was an impressive TN, Ms. Gisselle Gonzalez has a fan in me.

UA: The big question is whether anyone inside the law enforcement authorities will figure it out that Escalante is the Puppet Master along with El Chulo ?

Thanks Isabel. I went back and watched the section where Gerardo asked Regina what happened. My Spanish isn't that great and when I put it into Google translate it gets the subject mixed up with reflexive verbs! With Spanish subtitles, this is what I got when Regina answered Gerardo after he asked what happened.

"No sé que pasó, no sé.No entiendo cómo el hombre que me dio la vida se convirtió en eso espantoso. Me iba a matar a mí. Se puso la pistola y se disparó."

So I guess Mario was going to kill her.

Lynette: I see it another way he pointed the gun at her yes , but "se puso la pistola y se disparo" means he then tried to kill himself. Attempted suicide like the coward he is. Se puso means he put the gun on himself. Se disparo, he shot himself or it can also mean the gun was shot. But the "se puso" leads me to believe it was self inflicted. Because if he had continued pointing gun at her she should have said. "Me iva a matar a mi, me puso" as opposed to "se puso".

Thanks Sandy. I'm trying to learn Spanish. The community college in my area did not offer an intermediate class this semester so I went to one at quite a distance. I am auditing so I asked if I needed to get permission to attend this level. No said the college, you enroll for the class for which you think you are ready. Many of the members of the class don't even know the basics. The traffic to this area is terrible so I cancelled and am now doing grammar on my own - and watching telenovelas.

Lynette,
Thanks for checking on that. If that is the case, then I'm even more confused because to me that would translate to "I don't know what happened. I don't understand how the man that gave me life became such a horrifying person. He was going to kill me. He turned the gun on himself and it went off."
So he was going to shoot Regina and then changed his mind? Decided to do himself in instead? I figured that is what he would do from the get go. He knew he was trapped with no way out but prison. I was really surprised when he trained the gun on his daughter. Though I was surprised when he totally rejected Cecilia the day before also. The man is a criminal and definitely horrifying as Regina said, but I at least was convinced that he actually loved his daughters. Apparently I was just being naïve!
One other thing I forgot to mention earlier...when Alonso and his mother were talking he actually threatened to have Jose killed, not his mother. I know he just basically "killed" his father, but I think having his mother offed would be something even HE is not capable of. But maybe that is just me being naïve again!
Anyway, I'm about to watch the finale on my Univision NOW app...can't wait another minute!!
-Isabel B.

Welcome, Isabel.

Alonso had previously demonstrated some love for Natalia but the whole idea of her staying with Omar "for appearances' sake" was pure selfishness on his part. I was never sure whether he would kill her otherwise but now I know that he has no problem killing her spirit, any more than he tried to do with Emiliano and Regina.

Isabel B. it also can be "He was going to kill me. He turned the gun on himself and shot himself" not "it went off" so yes you are probably right,he saw he was cornered had no choice, and ultimately showed that he cared for Regina because he could have made this a double murder, suicide, instead he just shot himself, like I said he was a coward.

Thanks Isabel for your insight. I'm not a native Spanish speaker, but I grew up with my parents speaking Spanish. So I do the best to my ability in listening to the conversation and trying to determine the context. I used to have a friend who was living with me for a while, so I'd ask her what the context of the conversation meant and she's explain. She moved out of town recently and now I have no one to watch the TNs with. :(

Grand finale is nearly over. I'm closing the comments on this one now.
