MMTF Ep. 26, 9/28/2017 Part 1 She’s NOT Having My Baby…Maybe

Blanca and Imelda are relentlessly banging on the door so Julieta finally gets up. They are worried about what happened, and Blanca assures Juls (I hope she doesn’t mind being referred to as Juls) she is not alone; she has a family that can take care of her. When Imelda insists that she eat and sends Blanca to go get some food, Juls tells Imelda to keep calm, she’s not dying. Imelda asks to see her hand because there is a pressure point that will make her feel better; Juls yells as Imelda finds the pressure point…but it’s for her own good.

At the Córsega kitchen, Linda chides Blanca for attending to Juls who is the devil that almost broke her nose. Dani points out that Linda that isn’t saying the whole story and Marisol thinks Julieta is a better person than they thought. Blanca asks Mari about signing the divorce papers and apologizes for saying things before thinking...she loves her very much.

At Julieta’s, Imelda insists on massaging the other hand. When Blanca advises that she needs to concentrate when driving, Juls tells them she was distracted by all the messages she was receiving. When Blanca realizes it was her messages, Juls tells her not to worry. Blanca justifies that she only wanted to know what time she would arrive and mentions it wouldn’t have happened if she had given her the (damned) KEYS!! Julieta sarcastically agrees that the accident was actually her fault and finally decides to give Blanca the copy of the keys. Blanca refuses them until Imelda reminds her she will need them when she comes to see the babies (…and here it comes!!). Blanca realizes that, yes, Juls will have to get pregnant right after getting married because later she’ll be too old. Juls wants to be clear and tells them of their decision not to have children. As Robert comes in quietly, Blanca tells Juls that the idea of not having children is crazy and Imelda thinks Juls needs much guidance. Juls understands their intentions but she needs them to be understanding of her (when pigs fly!). Juls doesn’t think she could make a child happy. Imelda is dismayed and tells Juls that for a woman to be a “real” woman, she needs to have a child. As Juls asks them to respect her decision, RobPablo makes himself known and supports Juls 100%. When Imelda demands they listen to her because she is the elder and knows what it takes to make a family, and children are a must…y punto!! RobPablo sternly states they will not have children. After Imelda thinks they will have serious problems if they don’t change their mind, Robert politely asks them to stand and leads them out the door. He tells them that when they calm down, they can return to talk….Juls doesn’t deserve to be treated that way (woohoo, RobPablo…put those women in their place!). When RobPablo goes back in, he thinks his return has caused them to cross the line; they are pressuring her too much. When RobPablo notices that her attention is sluggish, he tells her to go rest.

At the Córsega home, Imelda doesn’t understand what they did wrong and Blanca wonders if they really did offend them or if they just misunderstood. Imelda can’t fathom how this girl could say she doesn’t want children.

Linda advises Dani to fess up and call Gabriel to tell him she likes him. Dani doesn’t understand how it happened but she finally admits she does like him…since she met him, she always thinks about him. As Linda thinks Dani is falling in love and doesn’t even realize it, she gets a text from Bruno inviting her for a drink.

Gabriel is on the phone insisting to his father that he can’t kick him out of the business. When his father tells him he will have to take charge of a restaurant, Gabriel complains that he knows nothing about restaurants, but his father retorts that he can look for a job on his own.

MMTF Ep. 26, 9/28/2017 Part 2 She’s NOT Having My Baby…Maybe

At the bakery, Eugenio tells Marisol that she and her sisters are his treasures. He supports her and Frida in everything they need. When Mari cries that these days have been difficult, he expresses how proud he is of her; she is being so strong…so “Córsega.” Mari is sorry she didn’t listen to him in the past, but he knows she was in love. He is going to make sure everyone supports her and advises her need to remember the dreams she had before getting married and realize them….today will be the start of a new life. As Xavi composes (I couldn’t read the scribbles other than “Return to”), Eugenio asks how Blanca reacted. Mari tells him she wasn’t keen on the idea, but is concentrating more on RobPablo. Eugenio worries that her mother will pester RobPablo and Juls so much that they will not want anything to do with her. He knows Juls is nice, but she has no reason to put up with the family.

At the Córsega’s, Blanca and Imelda discuss the list of four things they need to resolve: 1) Marisol’s divorce; 2) marrying off Daniela; 3) Julieta’s pregnancy; and 4) Robert’s anger. She shares her secret—St. Anthony on his head (which supposedly brings love).
In their bedroom, RobPablo cares for Juls who thinks Imelda’s massage actually helped her. She thinks RobPablo should call them…they are like children, but though he values them, he needs to defend their opinions. He will talk to them the following day. He congratulates her for how she has conducted herself with his family. When Juls asks about the dinner with his uncle, RobPablo tells her he wants to meet her; though Ana is still strange and it seems Tulio is also hiding something about the family.

Ana gets another text from Julián who misses aggravating her and hopes to see her the next day.

At the restaurant, Linda waits and thinks she got stood when she see Bruno outside in the rain. After he summons her to go to him she chides him for keeping her waiting and taking long to respond to messages, he surprises her with a kiss and tells her they are now officially seeing each other.

At night and in bed, Blanca worries about so many problems that need to be resolved. She has tried to be nice and show Juan Pablo how happy she is that he has returned, but isn’t sure if he will ever tell them he loves them. She has also noticed that ever since their son returned, Eugenio talks more…and scolds her more. Blanca gets up and goes to the kitchen to pray; she doesn’t want her son to be upset…they didn’t have ill intentions. When Linda surprises her, Blanca notices how happy she is. Linda tells her she had fun with her friends.

Early next morning, Eugenio finds Blanca asleep at the table. She wakes up clamoring, but Eugenio her they need to go to the bakery and will wait for her there. After he leaves, Imelda comes in and thinks they need to make the “sacrifice” of returning the keys. They also need to assure RobPablo and Juls that they don’t want to be “metiches” (meddlesome). Imelda thinks that when they see the keys, RobPablo and Juls will realize that they are willing to respect their home…once they are content, then they can work on convincing them to have a child.

At the bakery, as Blanca talks to Eugenio, she spills all the sugar into the dough. Eugenio accuses her of being too tired because she meddles too much. She needs to go rest.
At her home, Juls looks like she’s feeling nauseated (uh-oh!) while RobPablo goes to Blanca’s and earnestly asks to talk to her and Imelda in his apartment. Before they go, Blanca and Imelda discuss their strategy. In their own kitchen, RobPablo wonders what they are going to do with so much food. Juls suggests he take it to the foundation but RobPablo has a better idea; so he takes it to Polita and Audifaz. Audifaz tells him they have more than enough food, but finally accepts so the food won’t go to waste.

MMTF Ep. 26, 9/28/2017 Part 3 She’s NOT Having My Baby…Maybe

Back at the apartment, Imelda and Blanca arrive and tell Juls that they only want to be supportive and they are there in peace. When Juls call Blanca “mama suegra,” Blanca is happy that she is not angry. Blanca is going to return the keys and tells Juls that their intentions were not bad; and they certainly didn’t think it would cause so many problems. As RobPablo enters, Blanca finally hands the keys to Juls. After RobPablo apologies for his behavior the night before, he tells Blanca and Imelda, in a very serious tone, that he and Juls have very definite plans. First, they do not plan to and will not have children. When Imelda whines, Rob makes it clear that they will NEVER have children (oh my, never say never, bad omen…or maybe good!). Meanwhile, Juls has gone to the bathroom and is throwing up. RobPablo knows they want grandchildren, but Blanca already has a grandchild; and she has three daughters that may grant them more grandchildren. When Imelda points out that the girls don’t seem to have plans to marry, RobPablo suggests they may not be destined to have more grandchildren. After he demands that they stop pressuring them, Blanca concedes but offers to make breakfast or clean up. RobPablo, however, has to leave to the hospital and Juls has an appointment at work. As Imelda and Blanca leave, he invites them to go out after work…if he gets out early. The ladies are pleased and Blanca wants to know, “Around what time will he let them know?”

Xavi takes a picture of himself and posts it saying he is working on his new hit. Mari leaves another tray of food and sees clothes hanging out to dry. When she notices the underwear are torn, she takes them and leaves.

At Polita’s home, Audifaz wants Aristóteles to call him after school so they can work on his assignments together…they can learn together, but Aris has plans to go to the foundation to help Max since they need so much help. When he asks Polita to gather the clothes that don’t fit him so he can donate them to the foundation, Polita thinks it’s a noble act. She then goes off to take down the laundry before it rains. When Audifaz suggests that he wants to be Aris’s best friend, Aris recalls his grandmother saying the same thing and thinks they are both too old to be his friend.

At the hospital, RobPablo gets reprimanded for not going to Cancún. Although, RobPablo explains that he thought his wife had been in an accident, the director doesn’t think he should mix his professional life with his personal life. When RobPablo advises the director that the next time he needs someone to go to a conference, he should ask someone else, the director thinks his commitment to the hospital is not 100%.

Juls is on the phone at work and tells her boss that their plans will ensure the best catalog Cklass has ever produced. When she goes into her office, she begins to feel woozy.
Gabriel calls Dani to tell her he has gotten a job at one of his father’s restaurants and he needs someone like her in a position that is available. However, he needs her to come with a different look...like a woman. He’s not saying that what she wears is not decent; it’s appropriate for carpentry or to work with cadavers, but not for the job he is offering.

At her office, Juls reads an article on the failures of contraceptives, then quickly closes the laptop and looks dismayed.

RVG Chick: Zuria Vega is awesome in this Teleserye.

Thanks, Rgv Chick. Great title and recap. My fave: He tells them that when they calm down, they can return to talk….Juls doesn’t deserve to be treated that way (woohoo, RobPablo…put those women in their place!).

You go, Robert! He kicked out the metiches, but in a nice way.

Blanca and Imelda at the flipchart listing the issues with each kid was a hoot! They can scratch Julieta's "problem," cause a grandbaby is on the way. Julieta and Robert are gun-shy, but of course they'll make great parents. Poor Julieta will get a barrage of butinski when everybody finds out.

Rgv Chick, I was happier reading your recap than the fact it is Friday! Awesome. Simply awesome. What a treat.
"
She’s NOT Having My Baby…Maybe" Ha!! Perfect. Well written and intriguing as always.

There were important steps forward taken “Blanca asks Mari about signing the divorce papers and apologizes for saying things before thinking...she loves her very much”. And then, everything comes to a screeching halt and reverses direction with “Imelda is dismayed and tells Juls that for a woman to be a “real” woman, she needs to have a child”. Can’t. Even. Go. There.

“)marrying off Daniela”. Oh yeah, that is a huge problem. Are Blanca and Imelda really living in this century?

That said, I feel for Blanca. She is deep in uncharted waters. She is smothering when she should be giving space. Imposing when she should be retreating. Robert was rightly stern with them. If they don’t change, Eugenio is right. She and Imelda will only have themselves to blame when the couple relocates elsewhere.

I have a fondness for Marisol. She is kind and loving.

Ari may need friends, but his father should not have that title. Fatherhood does not preclude friendship but includes guidance and instilling responsibility. Friends are usually not noted for the latter.

I am really enjoying Gabi and Dani. “He’s not saying that what she wears is not decent; it’s appropriate for carpentry or to work with cadavers, but not for the job he is offering” made me smile. I can’t wait to see what she wears!

This is so much fun (despite some sobering moments last night).

Steve, Zuria is awesome but Daniel Arenas is as well. So different, yet so right together. Opposite4s have never attracted so well.

So happy you are part of this journey RgvChick! Thank you so much!

Diana

RgvChick, thanks for the outstanding recap! I needed it since my tape had run out while I was watching football in another room.

Anyway, I just laughed through so much of this last night. Blanca and Imelda play off of each other so well. I love how excited Blanca was when Julieta called her "mamá suegra" so naturally.

Even though they are overbearing, I wonder if at some time Julieta will appreciate being cared about by "mamá suegra" and company since she never had that with her own mother.

Yes, Niecie, Rob did kick the metiches out in a nice way. I love how he supports Julieta.

Diana, ITA about Audifaz not having the "friend" title because as you stated it is so much more as well as is being a mother.

The pregnancy wasn't really a surprise but it didn't matter because I am liking this so much.,

Hey, Rgv Chick, another home run. (I won't say "touchdown").

This whole episode, and in fact this entire series, has been such a hoot.

Blanca and Imelda looked like a homicide squad working a murder case, or Eisenhower planning D-Day with their sketch board.

Imelda offering the keys to Juls, and then jerking them back made me laugh.

Diana, totally agree Ari does not need his father for a friend. I wasn't friends with my children when they were young, but I would be friendly with them. Now that they are adults, and don't need my discipline any longer, (although on occasion they still seek my counsel) I can finally be friends with them.

Finally a tn that uses nausea as an early sign of pregnancy rather than fainting!

Eugenio remains a bastion of good advice and support.

OT: Son finally got out of Afghanistan. He is in Kuwait waiting for transport to Germany, then on to Fort Sam Houston where he and his group will be evaluated for PTSD before being released on leave.

Thanks again, Rgv Chick. Great job.

David

David, thank you for sharing the good news that you son is on his way home.

Thanks so much RGV!!!!

I'm probably the only one holding out hope she's not pregnant. She is soooo not ready to have a child. You could see the dismay on her face. I'm hoping she just has a slight concussion that is making her nauseous.

I fear Gabi is going to make Dani a waitress and with her attitude we all know how that will turn out.

Ari should take Audi to the foundation. I think he would really benefit. His self esteem is so low I think the children could really help him. Like they are for Ari.

Eugenio remains the most clear eyed of all. Love that he told Mari to follow her dreams.

Imelda is a force to be reckoned with and she has too much influence over Blanca. Blanca sometimes seems to be thinking in the right direction and Imelda brings her back the wrong way. You would have thought losing Tulio would have influenced her to stay out of it a bit more.

Thank you, Niecie, Diana, Jarifa and David!

Robert is such an unbelievably gracious galan. He was firm, yet gracious in inviting his mom and grandma for an outing. And Eugenio is so caring and understanding. I can see where some think Robert would have turned out to be as kind-hearted and thoughtful even if he had been raised by the Corsegas...and if he only listened to his father...hehehe

Diana, ITA that Blanca is smothering, but I think there is hope for her. She did consider Dani comments and, like she said, she speaks before thinking, and that is what gets her in trouble. Imelda, on the other hand, is relentless and has no clue that she is wrong. She uses her "elder" position to bully people around. She drove away her son with the same thinking she might drive away Robert and Julieta.

Jarifa, I do htink Julieta will actually come to appreciate the attention Blanca is giving her. She was actually trying to actually defend them...she is turning to out to be a lot more patient than even she realized.

David, "Blanca and Imelda looked like a homicide squad working a murder case, or Eisenhower planning D-Day with their sketch board." Yesss!! perfectly stated...that was SO funny...and when they showed that Imelda had St. Anthony on his head...so in character!!

I agree with everyone...Audi BFF with Aris...uhhh, NO!!

Was anyone able to read the scribbles on Xavi's pad? Was it the name of a new song or the goal he is tring to accomplish?

Carvivlie, I was writing whiel you posted. I agree, Julieta is NOT ready for a baby.

Since Gabi is insisting Dani change to a "woman's" look, I was thinking that Gabi might offer Dani a better job..maybe a hostess? or assistant manager?

David, so glad your son has made progress in returning home...prayers for his speedy and safe return.

Carvivlie, I, too, hope that Julieta is not pregnant and she just has a concussion but her being pregnant would fit in so well with the goofy plot. What can I say? Poor Julieta because whatever can go wrong is going wrong for her.

Julieta will not have one moment of peace if and when they find out she's pregnant. They so need to move.

Thank you, CHickie.

Diana, people say the most awful things, don't they? Around here, people started harassing you if you were not pregnant a year after you were married. I also remember an awful saying that I heard people use,"A man isn't a man until he makes a man." Ugh.

Wow Susanlynn I hadn't heard that one before. So misguided. As if shooting sperm makes you a man.

Susy, "Around here, people started harassing you if you were not pregnant a year after you were married." And around here, people start counting back the months if a woman gets pregnant before the first anniversary date!

Rgv Chick - Thank you for the recap!!!

Las Metiches and their flip chart just cracked me up. Who knew Blanca was so organized? Does she have a flow chart, too?

That sly Blanca handed over those keys only when Robert walked into the apartment, and not one second before that. I hated how she kept dangling them and taunting Juli.

Oh, but of course, Juli is preggers. (It's in the Telenovela Rules. Duh.) Las Metiches will have an absolute field day, too!!! Heaven help her.

Kudos for Robert for standing up to Las Metiches about having a baby.

David - I'm glad your son is safely home!

"Blanca sometimes seems to be thinking in the right direction and Imelda brings her back the wrong way. You would have thought losing Tulio would have influenced her to stay out of it a bit more".

You're on fire today Carvivlie!

So enjoyed everyone's comments.

God bless you, your son and your entire family David. I can only imagine how happy and joyous your family reunion will be.

Diana

David, thanks for sharing the latest news on your son's end of tour in Afghanistan. Yay, homeward bound!

Looking forward to seeing the outfit Dani hooks up. I hope she stays in carpentry since that's what she likes, but that's no reason for her not to add some style. Like Justice Ginsburg does with her lace collars and necklaces when she's wearing the robe.

Thanks RGV Chick. In wondering if Julieta is pregnant, think of the impact of Blanca and Imelda having the shame of a granddaughter born out of wedlock unless they speed up the wedding! This could lead to some amusing moments. Again Eugenio shows up as a wonderful balanced person with the meddling Blanca and Imelda.

I wonder if anyone else is watching "Hoy voy a cambiar" at 10:00 p.m. I did not know about the singer Lupita D’Alessio. She has a wonderful voice and the telenovela shows her career but mixed up life with drug and alcohol addiction - and men. Unfortunately it seems that artistic people fall into this lifestyle.

Excellent recap, Rvg Chick! Wow! An apology from Blanca (to Marisol)! How great! She does seem to be generally well-intentioned and maybe will learn some tact. Eugenio is very sweet with Marisol--especially that advice about picking up her before-Ignacio dreams again. It seems very sad that Audifaz and Polita don't have enough food--or is it just lack of organization? It seemed a little bit like some of our society's working poor the last few days of the month when all the SNAP benefits have been used up.

Niecie, I'm wondering if Dani will give herself over to Linda to fix her up. But I can see Dani showing up in the most awkward looking, too big for her suit if left to her own devices.

Lynette- good point about the baby being born out of wedlock. Since our protags are now officially engaged, they will have to set a date soon.

SpanProf, now we know why Polita always has her tupperware. I think Audi's real estate business must be pretty bad. I got the impression he owned it but maybe he is just an agent? He is the type to be an agent but act like he owns it. Either way they are desperate. No wonder the family doesn't think twice when she has her tupperware. They are being kind by not pointing it out so they don't lose face.

Thanks for the recap Rgv :)

I'm really excited to see what happens next. I'm finding that I'm starting to like all the characters a lot more. Blanca and Imelda made me laugh so much yesterday with their charts. How long have they been doing this? Marrying off Dani must have been on there for years haha considering she's 34 (she does not seem 34 btw). I'm hoping that they'll show progress of accepting who Julieta and Robert are and their values. Rather than flipping out when they said they didn't want kids.

Speaking of kids...Julieta is pregnant. I have no doubt. I agree Doris, it's the typical TN twist. Not that I mind much. Because I think that will be both a funny and interesting thing that Julieta will have to deal with. Because I think she needs to realize that she can be an amazing mother. I don't know if it's Zuria whohas that mother-like glow or Julieta or both. But I think she and Robert would be the most amazing, beautiful and supportive set of parents.

Dani and Gabriel! Alway a pleasure to see them on my screen. She admitted to Linda she likes him!!! I agree with Linda. She's falling for him. And so is he. One minute he says he can't handle a job and the next he's calling the first person he thinks of he would like to work with: Dani. I still think Gabriel is full of himself (who doesn't belong in a restaurant) because he has money and thinks he's hot and that kind of annoys me but I feel he has a good heart so he's growing on me. Anyone know how old he's supposed to be on the show ? I know the actor is twenty something. I wonder if he asks Dani to dress up to mess with her and see if she actually would dress up nice or in his words "like a woman"

I love Marisol she's becoming one of my favorites. I couldn't see what Xavi was scribbling but I'm assuming it's a song. Could it possibly be kind of like an easter egg? Like the words he's scribbling are the lyrics to the song in the TN that the actor; Yahir sings?

-Jackie

I see that Lupita D’Alessio is the singer in the Telenovela "Enanorandeme de Ramon". I'm not following this novela.

Mi marido tiene familia Capítulo 27: The Makeover 9/29/17 Parte 1

Marisol is sitting on her bed mending the men's (under wear) shorts she took off the clothesline. Linda comes in all happy about Bruno and about how they are now seeing each other exclusively. She notices the under shorts and asks Marisol who they belong to. Marisol is not telling.

Audifaz and Polita go in search of his missing shorts. Polita thinks it must have something to do with the guy living in the roof apartment. They pay him a visit. Audifaz demands to know where his shorts are. Xavi knows nothing. He continues to play his guitar and sing as they search for the missing shorts in his apartment. Xavi has had enough and takes out his phone to photograph Polita and Audifaz so he can prove what they did. They leave running and hiding their faces. Xavi follows them out. Marisol is there. Audifaz tells her about his missing shorts and Xavi is the suspicious one. Marisol comes clean and shows Audifaz his shorts that she mistook for Xavi's. She sewed hearts over all of the holes. After Audifaz and Polita disappear, Marisol apologizes to Xavi.

Imelda tells Blanca they have to pray to Saint Quintina to change Julieta's mind. Blanca does not know who that is and does not like to pray to saints she does not know since the ones she does know don't pay any attention to her. Imelda says then they need to come up with a strategy: send them on a honeymoon. They start fantasizing what a child of Juan Pablo and Julieta would be like.

Julieta is at work giving Luz an assignment that she needs done. Luz wants to know why she is so nervous. Julieta leaves Luz with the excuse that she has to go and check something. Julieta is all alone with her pregnancy test. The doorbell rings as she is reading it and realizing that it is positive. It falls into the toilet.

Daniela is having a video call with Linda as she tries to figure out what to wear to see Gabriel about the job. Limda tells her she will have to wear heels. Marisol arrives. Linda is cut off. Marisol will help Daniela who still doesn't know what to wear and that guy will be fascinated by her. Daniela insists it isn't for the guy but for the job. Imelda and Blanca witness the well dressed Daniela who is even in heels and are so pleased. Imelda is happy that Daniela looks like a Daniela and not a Daniel. Marisol tells her how good she looks, too. Imelda thinks she looks so good she should get married so she could have a second chance at more great-grandchildren. Imelda and Blanca start ragging on Marisol about getting back with Ignacio. They wish Daniela good luck. Daniela arrives at the restaurant and Gabriel cannot stop staring at her. She asks what is wrong. He says nothing and asks her to sit down.

Bruno has returned home and Catalina is overjoyed to see her prodigal son. Hugo and Diana appear and it becomes clear that Hugo is not happy with Bruno moving back in. He tells him he doesn't "fit" in the house. He blew all of his tuition money and now has returned to steal their food, space and oxygen. Bruno insists he has returned to be with his mother and sister and reminds Hugo what a great "investor" he is. Catalina tells Hugo and Diana not to pick on her little boy..

9/29/17 Part 2

Gabriel thanks Daniela for coming. She urgently needs a job and he told her there was a position. He asks if she looked at herself in a mirror, She looks different. He gets up and leaves. She takes off her heels. In the restroom he is still dealing with the shock of the "dressed" Daniela and washes his face with some cold water.

Polita was the one dining the doorbellat Julieta's. She is there to return all of the Tupperware. Julieta tries to cut their conversation short but Polita insists on talking. When Julieta finally close the door on her, Polita gives the door the stink eye.

A new day, a new worry: Blanca is talking to her sister Belén worries now about how she stacks up in comparison to Juan Pablo's adoptive parents. She is probably nothing compared to them. Nelén tells her she has to learn how to control herself, go about her business, calmly and not to compare herself with anybody. She is the mother that Juan Pablo has waited for his entire life. Blanca only want him to see her with love for her. Belén insistas that in time he will love her as much as he can. Blanca is then worried not knowing if Juliets likes her or doesn't like her. Belén tells her not to think so much. Sometimes the key to happiness is not thinking.

Imelda still does not get it and wants Marisol to fight for her home and family. Imelda says he will leave her without anything. Marisol tells her she may not believe it but she is going to go on ahead alone. Imelda insists her way is the "truth". Marisol informs Imelda that she has no idea of how much she suffered because of Ignacio. Imelda insists she forgive Ignacio for his foolishness. To Marisol, falling in love with another woman isn't foolishness. For Imelda, the wife is always the wife, Marisol admits it might have been that way in another time but not now. He made his decision and she decided to choose herself. She deserves another life. Imelda adds "alone" to that thought.

Julieta with rubber gloves fishes the pregnancy test out of the toilet not being able to believe the results. Robert call just to touch base. She is just taking care of a few things. Everything is calm on her end. He just wanted to make sure his mother and grandmother were' bothering her. He wants Julieta to know that he did make it very clear to Blanca and Imelda that there would not be any grandchild or great-grandchild.

Back at the restaurant, Gabriel is telling Daniela he just wants to know if she is interested in the job. She is the only person that he knows who is looking for a job. Then he starts talking in circles about not knowing if he treated her badly and it being his way of supporting her. Daniela is just uncomfortable standing in her heels and wants to know if she will have to come dressed like this everyday. She looks right for the job. She does or agree. He doesn't get why she has to make everything so hard, she doesn't feel comfortable dressed like this. It isn't her. If she has to dress like this, she isn't taking the job. He asks her opinion aboutnhe job. Later they can talk about the uniform. He decides not to pressure her if she is not sure. He walks away. Danielamfollows him and says she is afraid of him being so critical and being her boss. He is not as bad as she thinks. He tries to take her into taking the job so they can work together and move the business forward. She finally accepts the job. They shake on it.

Robert gets a call from Blanca. He tells her what she need to hear about their relationship getting stronger everyday. She loves him.

9/29/17 Part 3

Marisol ours her heart out to Xavi. He says her granny can say what she wants but she is the person who has to decide her own way for herself. What does Marisol want to do? She has to make up her mind and do what she wants. He grabs her hand. She pulls it away and leaves.

Julieta is at the pharmacy buying three pregnancy tests, all different brands, please. She suddenly notices a mother with a crying baby and other children in the tore. The look on her face is one of dread. She gets her tests and leaves. Even after she leaves, all she sees are Clarence running amuck.

Aristóteles spends time with Max and Robert at the the foundation. Robert is going to have Octavio talk to him about ADD. Max has his own issues because people do not like to be around burn victims. Aritóteles says he is "people" and he likes him. Robert talks to David who just wants to be with his parents. Robert remembers his own experience and reluctance to get to know his adoptive parents. Robert promises him all of his support. Robert tells him his story about his adoptive parents. David doesn't want that for himself.

Catalina and Diana get into it about Bruno and his supposedly stealing all of the money that was intended for his tuition. Catalina says he is staying because it is her house. Diana is calling Julieta to let her know that Bruno is stealing money. Catalina grabs the phone. Hugo arrives. He doesn't want the two of them fighting but leaves the scene with Diana not Catalina who is left to fume all by herself.

Linda gives Bruno a tour of where she works. She missed him because he had not texted her all day. He brought her a flower. She loves it. They kiss in her office.

Blanca is informing Marisol that Xavi hasn't paid the rent for the month. Marisol says not to worry about it. Blanca then starts in with his worried she is about Marisol. She wants Marisol to put her in contact with Ignacio. Marisol asks to not start going on like granny. As a matter of fact Blanca can stay with granny far away from her. Marisol leaves leaving Blanca alone.

Julieta has just tried another pregnancy tests and it is positive. She is panicked. She cannot believe it.. It must be a mistake. She goes for the new tests she bought.

Gabriel is giving Daniela a tour of the restaurant. He hands her a menu and tells her she needs to know how long it takes to make all of the dishes, the flavors and the ingredients for alll of the dishes. Immediately she takes on a defeatist attitude. Gabriel reminds her that nothing worthwhile in this life is easy. She says she'll try. "Trying" won't do it for him. He needs her to accomplish the assignment. He wants them to make the restaurant the best in Oaxaca. They start to bicker.

Poor Julieta is alone in her bathroom looking at more positive pregnancy tests. She takes them all along with their boxes and puts them into one bag for the garbage.

9/29/17 Part 4

Good news from Dr. Octavio. Aristóteles is not suffering from ADD. His attention problems come from low self-esteem and familial pressures. He could benefit from some therapy. Octavio wants to talk to Aristóteles' father. Aristóteles' mother is there to pick him up. He leaves. Robert tells Octavio he is worried about David not wanting to go to an orphanage. As for Robert, Octavio tells him to not waste time and get close to his mother.

Julieta leaves the apartment building and throws out the bag with the pregnancy tests into the dumpster where they fall out on top of the other garbage.

Aristóteles brings home the good news but Audifaz isn't too keen about his son going to therapy. Why would he need to talk to anyone else than his father? Aristóteles tells him not to pressure him. Polita stands up for Audifaz. Aristóteles stands up for himself. He cannot take him wanting to know everything. Polita lost her father at a young age so she thinks he should take advantage of having a father.

Daniela is readin the menu when she accuse Gabriel of making fun of her feet. He says he is only looking at her. They then move on to a game he has for her. He tells her to realax. Obviously she is not king to wear that clothing or heels. That was just a test. She takes off her heels. Itmismquizmtime as he asks her what a particular wine glass is used for. She manages to boggle the menu and knock m out of his seat so he falls backwards on the floor. She bends over him to help him up and they just stare into each other׳s eyes. He gets up and they just grin at each other.

Marisol goes to see Xavi anoit the rent. He insists his "rep" was supposed to have paid it. He pulls out his cell phone and calls "someone" to ask why his rent has not been paid. He tells "whoever" that this better be the last time. Xavi asks Marisol, as he brushes her cheek with his hand, to apologize to her mother and tell her that they can fix the situation. Marisol is happy and touches her cheek.

Julieta goes to a clinic for a pregnancy test. Robert calls her. Where is she? He just got home. She has things to take care of, some shopping. She will call him in a little while. He loves her more than yesterday. They hang up. Julieta will get her 100% correct preggers test results in just a few hours.

Blanca brings out some garbage to the dumpster and what does she see? The pregnancy tests.

Good morning, Jarifa.

Very well done, as always. The CC's were way messed up last night, so I really appreciate you cutting through all the stuff to give us the real story!!

I thought the SWAT hit by Audifaz and Polita was a too hammy even for a tn, but was humorous regardless.

Julieta buying three more pregtest kits speaks to her desperation, perhaps partly fueled by her and Robert's explicit pact to not have children. It's looking bad for those of you who are rooting for her not being pregnant.

I wonder who Xavi is to be giving advice to Mari, what with all his problems which include evading the truth about rent payment. It was pretty good advice, however.

They keep pushing Imelda back in time with her ridiculous judgements about roles. What is she representing now, 1732 AD perhaps?

I loved Dani trying to dress more feminine all in one fell swoop. Those high heels, in addition to being an entirely new experience for her, were about a size and a half too big, judging from the gap between her heel and the heel of the shoe.

It seemed to me that the Dani-Gabe relationship turned a corner for the better. I loved when he wound up on the floor and she came to minister to him.

Thanks again, Jarifa.

David

Jarifa, just loved this.

"A new day, a new worry" and "Polita stands up for Audifaz. Aristóteles stands up for himself" were marvelous. Yet another exceptional recap.

There were so many enjoyable scenes last night especially Marisol inadvertently mending Audi’s shorts! Very funny. Gabi looking dazed, confused and besotted at Dani’s transformation was gratifying. Here is a couple to root for.

Seeing Julieta’s expressions at the children’s antics was priceless. She looked completely overwhelmed!

Although nothing in her pregnancy testing was amusing to Julieta, I thought it smacked of something that Julieta might actually do. Shocked and determine to prove the test results wrong, it did not seem out of place for her to do it not once, but multiple times, buying different brands as you noted.“Blanca brings out some garbage to the dumpster and what does she see? The pregnancy tests”. As Julieta has not had had a moment of privacy since the truth was revealed, why shouldn’t the most momentous momens of her life not be shared with her MIL too?! Oh dear…

"Imelda thinks she looks so good she should get married so she could have a second chance at more great-grandchildren". Sour among the sweet.

Could it be possible that Julieta is adopted? Every single one of the scenes with her family make me cringe, particularly Hugo’s assertion that Bruno “…blew all of his tuition money and now has returned to steal their food, space and oxygen”. Hugo and Catwoman are greedy and grasping. Bruno is duplicitous.

"For Imelda, the wife is always the wife, Marisol admits it might have been that way in another time but not now. He made his decision and she decided to choose herself". Marisol continues to be one of my favorites. Xavi hasn't convinced e yet he is worthy of her. Is he going to do anything else but hide and play a few occasional notes? :)

What a splendid way to start a Saturday. Thank you Jarifa!

Diana

"They keep pushing Imelda back in time with her ridiculous judgements about roles. What is she representing now, 1732 AD perhaps?"

Our comments crossed David. I think you are right about the timeline! Too funny.

Diana

"Seeing Julieta's expressions at the children's antics was priceless. She looked completely overwhelmed."

Couldn't agree more, Diana. This brought back memories of when my daughter got pregnant. She and her husband had planned to be a childless couple who were party animals. Nature stepped in and she had TWINS!!! She adapted and became one of the best mommies one could hope for. . .and I am sure that Julieta will step up to the plate too.

David

Jarifa - thank you for your recap! I'm looking forward to watching my recording of this.

Juliet a will probably be a great mother. She has three (CatDQ and las Metiches) examples do what not to do.

Just keep Ana away from that baby. 😧

Thanks Jarifa!!!!

Everything Juli didn't want is coming true. She wanted a quiet life with just she and Rob. Now she has a big, invasive in laws and now a child on the way. She must feel her life is spinning out of control . I don't think I've ever been so disappointed for a character to be pregnant but I felt super sorry for her. Blanca will suffocate her no doubt in an attempt to take care of her.

Dani and Gabi are too cute but I fear this work relationship. Dani has few people skills and I can see her having a hard time with customers.

Hope Mari decides what she wants to do soon.

Linda and Bruno are awful kids that deserve each other.

OMG Doris. "Just keep Ana away from that baby".

Yes! I suggest a 24 hour guard. I suspect that won't be difficult as it will be nearly impossible to tear Blanca or Imelda away. Sigh.

Diana

Thanks, Jarifa...amazing recap as always...you captured every moment with great finesse!

ITA with everyone's comments regarding Julieta's reaction and the concerns about the metiches overwhelming her when they find out. And i agree with the 24-hour guard too!

Imelda is getting really outrageous with her "1732 AD" (thanks David!) comments...she is so overbearing, but I'm glad Marisol stood up for herself though Imelda did manage to put some doubts in her.

David, "I thought the SWAT hit by Audifaz and Polita was a too hammy..." OMGoodness, what a riot those two were; the only thing missing were the trenchcoats and fedoras.

They worked up Dani's transformation so much, but I was honestly disappointed especially since she recruited her sisters to help. A little make-up and fluffing up her hair would have helped, IMO. I too like the way Gabi ended up on the floor...I thought for sure an attempt at a kiss was going to follow, but the way they quickly separated was more in character.

Thanks, Jarifa. Terrific job. Your recap captured the zaniness of last night.

Eeeek! Marisol lovingly mends what she thinks are Xavi’s raggedy drawers. That's a pretty intimate move to make before even a first kiss, no?

Imelda and Blanca start ragging on Marisol about getting back with Ignacio.

Ladies, please! Blanca is fortunate to have a great husband like Eugenio. With her attitude, Eugenio could've walked all over her -- cheating and keeping her in the kitchen -- and she would've put up with it to keep the family together.

I'm getting a kick out of Julieta being pregnant. Man plans, God laughs. Without Robert getting a vasectomy or Julieta her tubes tied, this was bound to happen sometime. The pill or whatever they we're using isn't perfect.

That dumpster should be in the credits. It's been a part of some key scenes, like Robert finding his little rabbit. Knowing how nosy and involved her kin-in-laws are with the dumpster, Julieta should've pulverized the kits with a hammer, tied them up in the bag with a triple knot, and traveled across town to another dumpster.

Dani and Gabriel are so cute. Gabe going in the bathroom to process his feelings about Dani and maintain his cool in front of her was so cute. I remember that feeling well.

You're welcome and thanks everyone for all of the kind comments!

Julieta and those multiple pregancy tests were the best as she just kept hoping for just one to be negative. At least she headed to a clinic to get the real deal answer. The way that dumpster is just out there, the pregnancy tests or any trash could be dropped in by anybody walking by, right? but I think we know where this is headed now with Blanca discovering them.

David, the subtitles were either delayed, missing or incorrect. What a mess! Yes! 1732 AD!

Diana, I also liked that Marisol. was honest about her involvement in the "short mending" to settle the issue eventhough it made her look silly to a certain extent.

doris, ewww I had not even thought about Ana and the new baby. Creepy thought!

Carvivlie, good call! Bruno and Linda were made for each other.

RgvChick, you and me both were disappointed in Daniela's makeover just for the reasons you mentioned. She just had on heels and a dress. That was it?

Niecie, you have me laughing about the dumpster. It is sort of like the Toyota Tundra in LQLVMR.

Niecie, you are so right. Those dumpsters have had a starring role.

I wasn't surprised by Dani's makeover. She's not going from overalls to tube dresses overnight. She did the minimum required of her. Plus, the actress playing her has an amazing figure and I think they are keeping that covered up to keep the attraction between the two characters on a deeper level.

Dani is so talented as a carpenter that I'm disappointed she wasn't able to get another carpentry job.

I know what Dani could do, she could design furniture and display it at the restaurant!

I was thinking...the Corsega girls' ages range from late 20s to 40? And none of them have professional careers. Could that be because the parents and the "elder " one discouraged it...expecting the girls to get married and "be taken care of?"

That would be perfect for her RVG.

You are right but only Marisol has followed. She said that she was told to get married and have a family. Dani looks like She has chosen her own path, learning carpentry. Even Gabi told Dani she either has to go to school or be such a genius she can't be denied. At least Linda works but it looks like none of them we're encouraged to go to college. I think Blanca and Imelda just think these are holding places until married. I guess that's why they don't understand Juli.
