Caer en Tentacion #5, 10/20/17: Raquel's Wounds appear to be Self-inflicted
Present time
At Santiago’s house he is packing a bag, when Lola comes into the room she asks what he is doing. He tells to get Benji’s things ready because they are going to Valle del Bravo (town where Vicente lives – Carolina’s brother). Lola asks Santi, why, maybe her aunt lied. No the one that lied is Vicente; he knows where Carol is. Santi is yelling at Lola when he says this, and then Nico walks in to let them know that Raquel is there and wants to talk to Santi. Santi goes to see Raquel. Nico asks “what is going on?” Lola tells him “nothing just gets your things ready because we are going to see Uncle Vicente”
Santi goes to talk to Raquel who has just met Lisa; Raquel wants to know if Santi has any updates. Santi can’t talk about anything right know because they are getting ready to go to Valle del Bravo to follow some leads. Raquel says “what leads” some leads that Lisa has given us. He mentions that Carolina had been seen in that town with another man. Raquel has a slight reaction of shock but then tells Santi that he should let the police investigate that lead. Santi says that the police won’t do it so it is his job to do it. Raquel insists that he should not go, but Santi is determined to go.
At a road, the truck that Santi is driving to Valle del Bravo has stopped working so he is fixing it; in the meantime his kids are in the car asleep with the exception of Benji who is being tended to by Lisa. She walks over to Santi and asks him to not mention that she was with them to Vicente. Santi won’t but just needs Lisa to help him find the house that Carolina bought. Santi can’t believe that he was such an idiot and did not realize all of Carolina’s lies. Inside the truck Nico overhears this conversation.
Back at the scene of the accident Laura limping along discovers a red shoe, yells at Fernando to come over. She reaches down and grabs it with a handkerchief. She is sure it’s Carol’s Fernando is not sure. (But we all can tell that it is one of the Red shoes Damian bought her 3 years earlier.
At Raquel’s house she comes downstairs to find Miriam waiting for her. She has come to ask her to sign an authorization that will allow her to take Damian out of that hospital to another better hospital, closer to Miriam’s house of course. “Oh so you need me now” says Raquel. “Well, only because the doctor insists that his wife be the one to authorize, and since Carolina has not surfaced yet, you are the only one left.” (ahhhhh, she makes me scream). Raquel very patiently says that if she wasn’t in the situation she is in she would reply to that comment the way that Miriam deserves it, but she won’t. Raquel says “well MY HUSBAND is going nowhere he is fine where he is” Mia walks in and Monster Miriam tries to insinuate that Raquel does not want her father to get better care. Raquel tells her to not get Mia into this mess; well Miriam will do whatever it takes because Mia needs to know how Damian means nothing to Raquel.
At the offices Andres tells Damian they need to talk about what’s going on. Damian doesn’t have to tell him anything. Well Andres wants to know “what is going on with that woman”, “what woman?” Andres says “Carolina, you want to have her be part of our business?” Damian clarifies that the banquet business was Raquel’s idea, so he tells Andres to keep his nose out of this business. “I know those people, Carolina does not like you, and she is only after your money”
At school Joaquin continues to try to get Mia’s attention, he cuts her off and tells her that he wants to get to know her. She tells him why, and what for. He tells her because she is driving him crazy, he kisses her, and she backs away but then goes in to kiss him.
Present time
Damian takes Carolina home and tells her that it’s a good idea to go to Acapulco he would be honored to go with them; they (Raquel and Damian) like Carol and Santi.
In a car Joaquin and Mia are making out, she takes off her blouse, and then she tells him that’s enough. Joaquin says that’s fine but he wants to take a picture with her. He takes several selfies including one of them kissing. (This will not end up well, those pix will end up on social media, and they will probably haunt Mia)
Lola is in her room with her “friend” discussing the situation with Andres this “friend” tells her it’s not a matter of whether she wants to do it or not, Lola will do it because she will do it and she has no choice. She is convincing Lola to have sex with Andres, because Lola has no choice.
At Santiago and Carol’s house, Santiago is not sure about the trip, there are money issues and he is not sure it’s wise to go, besides do the kids really want to go? Carol does not like that Santi is not supporting the trip, so she tells him that since he does not want to go, “here are your cookies, your milk and have everything in your perfect little box” Santi notices the sarcasm in her voice and he explodes, and asks her “what is her problem with him?”
Present time
“Tell me the truth was she here with another man?” “I never saw it but in town they said she was here with a very elegant, rich man that was here to get her a house” “Show me the house” “I don’t know where it is. But go into town and you will find out in 5 minutes."
At Raquel’s house she is taking a bath, she has broken a picture frame of her and Damian. She lies down in the tub and she looks very upset she lets herself go under water and does not come out; she begins to lose control of the situation and appears to want to drown herself.

Anon207: Your question from yesterday, "I thought Raq told Andres she wanted to buy a gift for Damian but didn’t want him to be signing his own check?"
Yes--that is what she told Andres, but as far as we know, Dam didn't get any gift(s) for which he ever thanked her profusely--or at least that we saw, to confirm her statement. When he questioned her, she dodged the question, for sure.
Now we know she claimed it was for the Foundation--although they both know any money going to the foundation came out of Legato accounts and Dam always signed those. So....obviously it was enough money to raise the scrutiny of Dam and his questioning Andres about it. Dam didn't know what the money was for. Meanwhile...we on the patio have been led to believe Dam himself bought a nidito de amor for him and Caro. How or where did he get that kind of money without raising a suspicion with "the accountant," i.e. Andres. Or...maybe he did know and was keeping that information for future use.
Excuse the ramble. Now to the recap--can't wait.
Is anyone sane in this TN? I haven't found anyone to like yet. Mia seems like a real brat, Miriam is obviously a witch, Santi is insane, Laura is really unlikable. And who is Lisa?
Does Benjamin have a table on the patio?
This is moving so quickly yet you captured every action, thought and nuance.
These families put the "d" in dysfunctional. An overused term overall, it does not seem strong enough to denote this sad, sordid state of affairs.
"I saw you were too close to my mother” bothered me immensely. Is there any validity to Mia's assertion". "Santi and the guys are left speechless at the absurdity of Mia’s complaints". A beyond troubled child.
“That is the snake that she is, you don’t even know her one bit”. I think all of the pictures of the main characters are not yet fully painted yet the images taking shape are dark and disturbing.
"Lola’s quandary “She is convincing Lola to half sex with Andres, because Lola has no choice" another brutal situation.
Laura is relentless but if there is someone who can get to the bottom of this, then I am relieved she is here.
LoriLoo, I am not finding anyone here likeable because everyone is suspect.
Lola and Mia are breaking my heart. Why did none of the parents realize what is going on? I don't think Mia turned bitter and self destructive overnight.
Having an affair is being self centered and selfish. Being oblivious or unheeding to the hurt being imposed on a partner is bad enough. But I've not seen anything to indicate Damian or Caro have given a moment's thought as to how their children are going to be affected. While never contemplating the tragic situation that now exists, they have effectively destroyed their families. And each other.
Honestly, I really don't know what to think at this point. Is Caro dead? Will Damian come out of the coma? Will have to wait and see.
All I know is that this recap was incredible Sandie. Thank you.
Diana
Loriloo Lisa is Vicente's ex-wife. Vicente is upset at Carolina because in their troubled marriage it appears that Carolina took Lisa's side. She is the aunt that came with them to Valle Bravo and asked Santi not to tell Vicente she was with them
With the intensity of the relationship bet Caro and Dam so early, I have a hard time believing it took 3 years for them to decide to go off together, and just a weekend trip at that. And for neither spouse to know what was going on.
The flashbacks with the kids aren't working. At 3 years later, they would look a little different and presumably be in college.
That detective should be fired for feeding his journalist wife info that could destroy the investigation or a future case against someone.
I'm confused. Why would Caro take half the house away from Vicente if Dam bought her one? If he bought her her parents house than wouldnt have Vicente and Lisa gotten their split?
Thanks for filling in more than a few blanks for me. There is still no On Demand of it yet, so I much appreciate the detail.
Miriam is a piece of work and I think Mia may be a chip off the old block. Nico's a blockhead for mooning over her.
A couple of nights ago creepy Andres was having his way with someone on a couch. Who was that?
We need more backstory on Carolina's family of origin. I've had a creep vibe from him since he first walked into view and I suspect he has a criminal record, which would be a motive for Lisa having divorced him.
Mia is a total brat. We still don't know why she was bullied in school in the first place which made it necessary for her to change schools just prior to when the curtain went up on this tale. Are schools in Mexico just as bad as the ones here in dealing with this issue? Her behavior regarding Raquel and Santiago was completely irrational.
Totally agree that there should be at least one small change on each of the "kids" over the three years.
Is there any possibility that Andres actually knows something real about Carolina? Could she be an accomplice of his for the purpose of stealing Damian's rightful inheritance? Having gotten to that, could Miriam know about this and this whole thing was designed by her to get rid of Raquel?
The selfies Joaquin took will definitely be used against Mia and probably by him.
More later.
Vicente seems like an interesting character. I have the feeling he'd want something in return for helping Santi.
I agree that Godoy and his wife seem to want to take all the credit for cracking the case of Caro's whereabouts. Not a smart idea for Godoy to help his wife with her story.
I thought Dam's comment to Caro about distracting him while he was driving was interesting. I'm surprised he didn't say something like "we could get in an accident if you keep distracting me." Could that have been a factor in the actual crash?
I wonder if someone will find Raquel in the tub before she actually succeeds in drowning herself.
Carvivlie: I agree the whole house plot line is confusing. That's another story we need more clarification for. So far this TN has more questions then answers. For the first week of a TN we got a lot of content, much of it murky.
I don't know what to think of Vicente just yet, but he's the character I find most interesting so far.
As annoying as Raquel can be at times, I enjoy her friendship with Santiago. She seems to get him even if he doesn't see it.
I was feeling guilty for finding Raquel a bit annoying, because after all she's done nothing to deserve this. But now I see I'm not the only one who finds her a bit over the top.
But at the end of the day, Damian did nothing to let her know he wasn't happy in their marriage. So shame on him. I'm thinking he's cheated before because he moved in on Carolina without hesitation. Plus, his primo Andres wasn't surprised to see Damian making moves on another woman.
That car "accident" was definitely a set up. But by whom? Andres?
Niecie: Agreed Raquel is a bit over the top, pushy, and does not measure her actions, this obviously is what brought Damian And Carol together, but she did not deserve getting backstab by her "friend" and her husband. Neither did Santi, although he had faults of his own.
Carvivlie: Completely agree Fernando Godoy is absolutely crossing the line passing information to his wife. He should get fired. He may be one of the only good cops though. We have seen that there are a couple of rotten cops in that PD already.
Again this TN has left us wondering so many things. Mostly questions, no answers yet.
I wonder whether Raquel's personality is Miriam's main objection. She is pushy in a way that could be regarded as declassee although Raquel clearly is well-meaning. She's not Anna from MCET but she is a long way from Regina in LC.
I am also inclined to suspect Andres regarding the car accident. He wants what Damian has and worked for, including Raquel. He may not care that Miriam wouldn't like his endgame because he might consider offing her as well.
I don't yet have an opinion on whether Damian has cheated before, but I'm sure Andres has tried to encourage him to.
