Caer en Tentacion #2, 10/17/17: Looking for Answers and Someone or Something to Blame

Hi all.  I got to see the capitulo and then write.  I get home too late to watch generally the night of. The recap will be up ASAP...  --edit.  P.S. FYI, On Demand hasn't listed this tn yet.  It may take a week if the past is any bit of the predictable.

Fernando is spitting in the wind trying to tell cuckolded Santiago everyone has got to do their part through this.  Nando has been here before and tries reasoning with his apparent bud that Santi’s got to give him room (to effing breathe) while they do their search and discovery, and Santi’s got to give them that space.  Santiago NEEDS answers, but is grateful.  Nando will do his part which, as he reminds Macho-Man-turned-Maniac, is being done as a favor to the Chief. They are not shirking their responsibility in any way. Yeah, they in fact have been doing their job and they found Carolina’s cell phone--but unfortunately they cannot tell Mr. Raging Bull where it was found.

Nando gets a phone call from his wife as a possible reprieve, but no, it’s another harangue.  Hmm.  Well, she taunts, think about the investigation her lover, the accident—yes, it’s all intertwined.  Think about all of it and maybe you can manage to learn from this investigation what prompted Caro Rivas to leave her husband like this and the reason you cheated on me!  Click.

Lola says there’s got to be a reason Mama didn’t get in touch with them before. Santi advises Mama couldn’t face them with what she did.  Nando told him Uncle Vicente (?) told him that she never showed.  In fact all the times she used Unkie as an excuse she wasn’t there.  He hasn’t seen in in nearly 2 years!!  Uncle’s a drunk who they shouldn’t believe, counters Lola.  “—Get in the car!”  Just then Raquel comes running out and asks for a lift.  She’s got to get away from there and fast.  Santi obliges.

Mama Miriam, comes out with Sr. Abogado and the two watch Raq driving off with Santi and “that family of trampy low-lives!” [muertos de hambre]  “--Ha! I always suspected my daughter-in-law was disloyal to my son!  And after that little number back in there, I have the proof.   My son and Caro are doing this probably out of revenge and those two are the ones having the affair!”  El Sr. Abo-gato doesn’t disagree….exactly.

A girl at Mia’s school introduces herself as Julieta and says she knows Mia as she’s all over the social media and the net.  Who doesn’t? Mia seems to blow her off.  Meanwhile, Lola’s friends are telling her she should sleep with Rich Brother of Mia to wangle money out of him for a trip I believe they’re wanting her to go on with them.

Mia’s being ogled by Mr. Popular and his posse.  She definitely blows him off just as Mr. Popular’s current squeeze walks up and warns her “Hands off, slut!”

We see a quick flashback of a night as Raq, alone in her bed, looks at a picture of her and Dam in happier times.

Santi screaming at Unkie V accusing him of knowing where his sister, Caro, is and keeping it from him.  Unkie V has the right idea: he hangs up on Macho-Man Maniac.  Raq comes up to him and says they will certainly find a reasonable explanation for their spouses to have been in that car together.  He bellows back at her there is no other explanation.  The only explanation is they were cheating on the two of them.  Raq looks sour, like she’s about to vomit….They didn’t have the guts to face them and tell them.  That’s what!

3 years earlier: Caro and Santi are in bed together.  He wants …. affection….er…a little bit o’ sugar. “--Just a quickie.” She refuses.  She’s got to get up early?  Any early appointment?  There’s a text about the inability to sleep.  (Dam to Caro?) Dam’s at the other end of the text.  He’s just showered and has his towel wrapped low enough that all of Viewerville has their tongues hanging out in voyeuristic anticipation.  Raq is so beautiful.  So lovely.  He drops the towel and Raq cannot stop from mentally licking her lips.  He jumps in.  (Man!  Caro, I can see why you’re ripe for the picking!  Compare her loud, demanding, stubborn, bearded and brutish bumpkin versus the dashing, deep-pocketed and debonair Damian.  Ain’t no comparison needed in my book!)   Oops.  Something fails. Can she help a bit to fix the nix?  It’s obvious his head was in the right place but the heart and the rest definitely were not…..

At school, the coach is warning Lola, she’s missing her games and practice and she’s been hanging out with the wrong crowd.  She blows him off with “—I got a few problems I’m dealing with.”

Santi’s doing some plumbing repairs or rehabbing at the Beckers’…..while Dam is conveniently over at Caro’s taking advantage of the time to chat with her and flirt.  She offers to make him a cup of coffee and he accepts.  She accidentally twists her foot (her 7” high wedge sandals being the culprit) entering the kitchen.  He wraps it like a pro and she smiles sweetly at his proficiency.  She admits her nervousness at this situation and he takes his leave, but not before a tender, sexy, electric kiss just to the side of her mouth on the cheek.

It’s a circus at los Becker with Raq insisting Santi’s soaked and needs to get dry and please, “--no, I demand you put on one of Dam’s shirts so you don’t catch your death and I don’t worry you cannot start on the renovation of my house!:”  (Methinks Santi has met his feminine match!  She’s as pushy and stubborn as he is.)  He’s embarrassed at being shirtless.  She looks on unabashedly and states that at the beach he’d have even less clothing on.  What’s the big deal?  Well, she always has a way of putting her foot in it, she obliges.  So, she’s sorry.  He’s now got to go and he’s leaving the proposal for her and Dam to look over.  His problem, he admits, is that he’s got to go home in another guy’s shirt and explain, but Caro will probably understand it’s the truth, after all, right?  He races off.

Currently:  Miriam looms over her comatose son for never paying her any mind when she warned him…..Sr. Abo-gato arrives.  Mir wants the assassin found!  “—Your son’s alive, madam.  So, there is no assassin.”  “--They’ll try again as long as he is alive.  I need your help to find whoever is responsible.”  Rueda complies.

Rueda later meets one of his snitches who tells him Tonio is closed mouthed and hard to get information out of.  Rueda puts a packet of pesos under his nose.

Meanwhile, Raq insists Caro will appear.  Santi and family are leaving now.  He’s tired of her naiveté in believing everything is still the same as before.  He’s wasting time with her.  He’s got to go.

At the factory/store office, Lola demands from Primo Andres what’s Dam and her mama to each other.  He should to know. “—Ask them!”  Nada de nada.  She insists and he tells her they were together to get what they wanted from each other and nothing more.  She wanted his family’s money and position and Dam wanted what a man always wants.  She was all too eager to trade.  They are interrupted just as he’s about to attempt to lay a big one on the smacker.  (Depravity R Us, Andres?) Obviously he’s laying the groundwork to accuse of her like mother like daughter.  Zorra!  Slut!

3 years earlier: Andres was attracted to Lola from the start.  (Aha!  This is the Daddy Warbucks Lola’s friend was going on about!)  Bad GF is coaching her at a restaurant.

Mr. Popular's Squeeze comes after Mia to accuse her.  She says she’s got a boyfriend.  Suddenly she sees Federico and lays a lip lock on him he wants explained.  In the background, the real BF looks on and leaves, disgusted.  Now Fede wants an explanation.  She tells him he’s daft.  Don’t get your hopes up cuz it was nothing.

At their respective houses, the spouses explain the crazy morning and disastrous results, then how they tried to rectify it and made the other worry that their spouses wouldn’t understand and get jealous.  No problem if there’s no reason, says Dam.  Nope, not with Raq.  But then, we see Caro sniffing the aftershave on Dam’s shirt.

The next morning the renovation starts.  Raq drags Santi off (to the store to purchase the materials?). Caro’s to stop by Dam’s office to pick up the cash,

Nando's wife is dealing with a an editor.  She is supposed to stay away, to keep from having Nando resort to a long line of sweet things.  Is he leading her on?  (Dunno as this convo was totally unintelligible.  Help appreciated.)

Miriam is looking over files and tells Rueda, El Sr. Abo-gato, that sure she knew about this two day trip and the only one who’ll get the worst of this will be Caro.  The only one ignorant of it all was Raq.

Andres drives Lola home.  He wants to chat her up.  Back off!  Not on your life.  She tells him her papa and Raq are together in there.  He says invite him in for coffee.  She refuses.  He gets out just as Santi opens the gate.  Andy says say hi to my cuz’s wife for him and leaves.  Santi asks Lola how she could hang around that twerpy guy.

Andy immediately calls Rueda to inform him that his S-I-L is at Santi’s house while his cuz is laying comatose at the hospital.  Curious, no?  Miriam’s ears prick up.

Inside Santi’s house the two families are commiserating.  They were too trusting, suggests a tearful Raq.  Suddenly a call comes in and Santi thinks it’s Caro.  The kids and Santi are all in a kerfuffle. Maybe it really wasn’t her.  Nobody really can say.

It turns out to be from Nando’s wife.  She begins writing a column.  What’s her game?  Nando shows up at her desk.  He’s there to take his wife out to eat.  Unless he’s got news about Caro and Dam—it’s The Story of the Century—she’s not going anywhere with him.  He won’t spill a thing to her.  He cannot.  She leaves to take a call.  She doesn’t need his info.  She’s got her own sources and methods.

Lola and Santi are desperate.  She wants answers from daddy. She has been told things by Andres.  Like what?

Back at the paper, Nando takes a gander at his wife’s screen.  He reads the line that “Every call Santiago Alvarado Rivas answers is another hope.”  He checks his wife's phone log and sees she placed a call recently to Santi’s home.  She walks in and accuses him of shamelessly spying on her.

Nando gives in. (So much for her putting him into a compromising position that threatens his job.  Mr. Clean turn in your earrings.) He’s got a list of all the calls to and from Dam and Caro and he’ll give them to her to investigate if she promises she won’t divulge anything learned before he gives her the go-ahead.  What’s a girl to do--and with a proposition like that?  Hell yeah!!  She only wants to know what kind of relationship the two really had and….”--Hey!  Do you think Caro’s still alive?”  He shakes his head and says he’s got no clue (pardon the pun).  She could be alive and in hiding out of fear or doesn’t want to face folks, she could have caused the accident, who knows?

Andres arrives at Miriam’s and says he was just at los Alvarado and knows Raq was there with Santiago…  Miriam’s all too eager to say it was proof positive they were up to something.  Rueda takes his leave.  Miriam asks rather suspiciously, what Andres was doing with that little girl.  He says she was at the office asking him questions and he took her home.

At los Alvarado, Tonio, the comandante friend of Santi’s arrives with a file of detailed information he’s giving him before the press gets hold of it.  Forewarned is for-armed.  Ok.  El Comandante explains the details prove the two were travelling to Miami for a couple of days together.  Raq goes berserk.  “--He was leaving me???”  Lola goes in to tell Fede what she overheard and it’s all true.  Mama and Raq’s hubby were leaving them all, traveling to Miami.  In the other room, Raq is having a breakdown and Santi's got her in his arms, trying to comfort her.  "--I'm here.  I'm here for you.  Hush now."

Nando wife, Laura, begins writing the article, relaying all the basics that we—and the police-- know to this point.  The rest is supposition and accusation based on that supposition: that a relationship hidden for as long as it must have been was no adventure one took lightly; it was the kind that led to revenge, and this is homicide-attempted or committed.  Laura wonders to herself,  “--Where are you, Carolina?”

Out in the middle of nowhere a dark haired woman is wandering blindly, indiscriminately, but with determination….

Looking forward to seeing the recap!

Jardinera, we must have the same cable company. They sure manage to shoot themselves in the feet lagging with the posting of episodes OnDemand.

Yay!! It's up!! Enjoy, Steve Boudreaux!

Jarifa: could be. Xfinity doesn't do me any favors that's for sure! Hulu+ doesn't carry Uni's stuff any longer, either. A waste. Anyway, thank gawd for good old fashioned video tape recorders......

Thank you Jardinera! I particularly enjoyed "Can she help a bit to fix the nix?". Your fine sense of humor and cleverness were on fine display.

As much as I understood almost everything that transpired Monday night, I was lost almost all of last night, particularly the interaction between the children.

Nando's wife is horrid. Just horrid...He seems to be a man fighting his demons, his wife appearing to be prominently among them.

"Methinks Santi has met his feminine match! She’s as pushy and stubborn as he is.)" was spot on. Actually, Santi seems far less sour when he is with Raqi.

The sight of shirtless Gabe was well, dreamy. Is there a better description than chiseled and hot??? Whew.

I am going to have to go back and read this a few more times. Too many new and active characters last night.

Jardinera, thank you!

Diana

Thank you, Jardinera. It is such a treat to be watching a telenovela with you again.

Well, in Vino, Gabe Soto wore vests all the time and was fully dressed under those vests most of the time. But this show..HELLO..towels and tattoos.

What is up with smelling other people's clothes in telenovelas? It has become a thing.

Is the reporter married to the policeman?

Lots of teenage angst in this one..meh.

Silvia seemed to be a bit hyper and overemoting .

I missed Monday night, but I recorded last night's episode. I am kind of lost with all the characters, but your recap helped. Am I correct that Andres and Dam are the sons of Miriam, and old Andres is after Santo's young daughter Lola?..ick.

Susanlynn: the TV Reporter married to the salesman ?

Andres is Damian's cousin. He kept calling/referring to Miriam as "Tia".

Fernando is the cop. What's the name of the guy who showed up at Santiago's house with the file?

Federico is Mia's brother so the guy she kissed was either Nicolas or some other guy.

I don't know the name of Fernando's wife but she's nasty so no wonder he cheated on her. Also, she's a cruel bitch to keep calling Santiago's phone pretending to be Carolina to get a reaction out of Santiago for her story.

Miriam says everyone knew about this Miami trip except Raquel and she referred to finding the assassin when Damian is still alive. Methinks Miriam has something to do with all of this that will be revealed in the future.

Oh, and the smelling of the clothes ... it shouldn't have smelled like Damian unless Raquel gave Santiago one of Damian's dirty shirts.

Hola Girls and Guys!

I love this telenovela, and I would like to thank for the recappers the summaries. I understand a lot in Spanish but not everything, and you are those people who tells also the tiny detalis.

I would like to give a little help with the names.

Fernando Godoy - The policeman
Laura - The reporter woman, Fernando Godoy's wife
Antonio - boss of Fernando Godoy, he was the friend of Santiago's father.
Mia kissed Nico, Santi's son. The other guy is Joaquin " Mr. Popular".

"Methinks Santi has met his feminine match! She’s as pushy and stubborn as he is" It's very true. Both of them are strong personalities.
I loved Santiel scenes.

Hi everyone! I'm back! Long time no see! 7 months was way too long to be away. Although I did watch the rest of VEA and LDVDEC I didn't really enjoy the last episodes that much. Although I heard LDVDEC will get a segunda temporada and production could start early next year. Anyway, when Uni started announcing that CET was going to start soon I saw this as an opportunity to get Uni back on my good side lol I meant to post a comment yesterday for the first episode but completely forgot.

So far this story is very intriguing. I'm still trying to learn the names of the characters, particularly the kids. I noticed in the first episode that Amador Zuniga is back lol. I don't know his character's name yet so I'll call him Amador. Even when I learn his name I'll probably still get confused and call him Amador.

I am pretty interested to know what Laura is doing and why. She was the one who called Santi whom he thought was Caro, correct?

If Caro is alive I wonder why she ran? Is she purposely letting Damian take the fall for the affair? I can already see the chemistry building between Santi and Raquel.

Miriam seems pretty shady. She definitely has ulterior motives.

The guy that looks like Amador Zuniga is actually NOT the actor who portrayed Amador Zuniga.

However, I think the actor who played Amador IS showing up in this novela later on.

If that was truly Caro, she might have gotten out of the car to get some help but was disoriented.

Kids:

Damian & Raquel's kids:

Mia: Girl with short bob (like Raquel). Sour disposition.

Federico: Mia's brother. Kind of nerdy and preppy looking. Apparently asthmatic because either Mia or Raquel reminded him to take his inhaler on the first episode.

Santiago & Carolina's kids:

Nicolas: Wears the beanie cap & apparently plays the guitar.

Lola: Thin, long brown hair. Is getting caught up in ho'tivities to keep up with her friends.

Blond Toddler: With all of the revelations about Caro & Dam coming out both Raquel & Santiago will be giving this kid the side-eye.

Other kids:

I am not sure if Nicolas is Mr. Popular or not, because whoever Mia kissed asked Federico if Mia was always this way (abrasive) and Federico said no, she's usually worse.

Jealous Girl: Mad at Mia because of Mr. Popular

Sidekick Girl: Friend of Jealous Girl (was wearign yellow jacket last night)

Lola's Friend: Encouraging her to get involved in ho'tivities so she could party/go on a trip with them.

Julieta: Plain looking girl who was trying to befriend Mia & got the brush off

Gracias, Jardinera. This episode definitely had its challenges.

What is bothering me is why was Mia being bullied in the first place? Obviously something about that followed her to her new school. BTW, Ela Velden is actually 25.

Miriam is looking to blame Raquel for this no matter whom else gets dragged into it. She really has it in for her for taking away her widdle boy. She's on the next Toxic Mothers list.

Jardinera- I'm still waiting to hear back from you, do I start recapping for this tonight or next week? I'm so confused!

Thanks Jardinera. Without the recap I would not have a clue. Shame that the person in charge of Creative Decisions decided no English caps. Last night the Spanish caps were of little help to me. Especially since at times speakers were not identified. I just gave up halfway through. The time sequence is not helping either. But I will wait a few weeks before abandoning Soto et al.

Jardinera thank you so much for all of the great details.

My head is still spinning, this episode was definitely hard to follow. Recap and comments sure do help.

Jardinera, I have Xfinity, too, plus a trusty VCR. Sometimes the old tech works the best.

Jarifa: I'm sure that Damian's evil cousin is scheming to take over the company & hijack the family business, etc.,

Jardiner456 an excellent recap. And I don't think she gave him a dirty shirt
. Now I don't see how she could smell Damian on that shirt after her hubby
Has had it on all wet and sweaty. And
Raq did a double take as did I when
Santi took his shirt off.Now Y'all are
Oooin and aaain over Damian's God given Blessings, well He didn't skimp on santi either.
Silvia Navarro is a good actress, she
Looked like she was in alot of pain. A
Broken heart. Very painful. But she's
Probably kickin herself for trusting
Who she thought was a good friend. And
Kiddos aren't missin a beat, At least
The teens. That cute little girl is just lookin from one adult to the other Wondering "where's moma?". She a good baby.
That slimy guy andres, he looks like a
predator. That girl is young enough to
Be his daughter.Santiago ought to open up a can of whip-ass on him. And hes
Damian's cousin? Now he could gain alot
If Damian was eliminated. But baby boy
Is mommie's favorite.This is a juicey
Story. It came out of the gate on fire.

It could be Caroline came to and when
She saw dam out cold and bloody she jump out as to not be caught with another woman's husband. I am hoping
That wasn't her that came to the door
In the advance.
I see Miriam is gonna be a problem. She
Actually thinks that raq and santi are
The ones cheating? Shes been drinking
That bad "my son is perfect" coolade.
That weasel Andres should have been her son. Damian may be a Very veeeerry attractive man, but that cheatin ain't
Good. He got some major groveling to do. I hope he wakes up tonight, I want
To see what he got to say for himself.

Yes, Juju. Wednesday is fine

Jardinera, I'm a little slow, I start tonight, yes?

Jardinera-6-5-4, Im sorry sweety I got
The numbers turned around. It's 6-5-4. Ok.

Jar--Late again with my huge round of applause and thanks to you. Brava for sorting out the scenes and characters into something intelligible. Good idea of Urban's to put the past in blue. It really helps.

The plot is already thickening. Oh, so many suspicious characters--Miriam, suspicious of a kidnapping attempt, Rueda, who is not averse to using bribes, and Santiago, too, paying off someone in the first episode, and now Laura, what's her game, indeed. Inquiring minds want to know why--NOW.

I think we're supposed to be sympathetic to Damian and Carolina, thus we get a hyperactive Raquel and a grouchy, stubborn Santiago. Most likely Raquel was drawn as a wealthy upper middle-class woman who doesn't have to work, lives in a big house with servants, dresses lavishly and has always had an overbearing (bombastic?) public personality. We do see her in her more tender moments with Damian in bed, snuggling. That said, Silvia has a tough job ahead if she is to become the sympathetic character we want to see her as.

I hope they don't play up all the school kids. This isn't Junior Televisa Acting School. Do it on daytime, please. Four is enough.

P.S., Nina, the little kid is a boy. Apparently his name is Benjamin.

See you all later.

O ok. I thought boy cuz that shirt was pink. Wasn't it?
See thats why I need on demand so I can go back and check stuff.
Thank you Anita.

PS: I like that song on the opening credits. Who's singing, anybody know?
Also on the opening credits when they're showing the different characters with the different facial expressions, they show this one with Silvia Navarro the tears coming down and then it goes back up and she's got that look on her face that says "I am not crying for this bastard anymore". Well That's what it looks like to me.

It hasnt started, they are showing a gsme. Anyone know if will start late?

Thx

JuJu: yeah. Do tonight's fine and I'll do Thursday.

Juju, yes sir ce I saw the draft I had thought you were ready for tonight's Wed episode to recap
Go ahead. I look forward to reading it. Thanks!

I'm so mad that they don't have English caps anymore was really looking forward to this show now I've just lost interest in Univision all together

Oops! Looks like the show was pre-empted by Soccer games galore.

They showed the TN at 8 Central today.

Thanks Urban!

Hmm I wonder if we will see SN in a different approach here . I'm still waiting for her to accept a darn villian role! She would cause total mayhem! I love how Giselle is taking advantage of her talents to further expand Silvia's trajectory.

As for Laura her job was always despicable seeing that she's a papparazi and they're always vultures. I like the actress that portrays her though as I havent seen her before in anything.

What was Santi paying the construction guy for and why?

Miriam is already detestable. Could she surpass Ursula, the ultimate bitch mother from YNCH?

In California this was on an hour early because of soccer. It replays at 2am if anyone missed it and has a VCR (or whatever newer things they make now).

Thank you so much for all the discussions everyone. I'm trying to finally learn Spanish, but I think I'm just getting hooked on the stories. Maybe some will rub off. This one is really good.

I wish they would put names on the closed captioning of who's talking. The other 2 I'm watching do that and it really helps keeps the characters straight.

And I also started watching Argentinian novelas. Some of the accents are awful but the performances are amazing! Currently I'm watching Por Amarte Asi(Which will be remaked by Angelli Medina as "Me declaro culpable). This show is also a remake of an Argentinian show Amar despues de amar altough Ms Giselle is very creative!

What I gathered from Laura's discussions with her producer is that for some reason she's been booted off television and relegated to background research. I thought the extremely smarmy producer guy alluded to some scandalous thing she'd done. Although there was also a hint of her being replaced by someone younger and cuter on the air. The jerk producer, if I remember correctly, basically told her to milk her husband for details of the Dam/Caro story if she wanted to get back on the air.

novelera--In a passing conversation Laura had with Nando Godoy, he suggested she wasn't ready to go back to work yet. She claimed she was. We don't know what happened to her. We DO notice a visible limp on Laura, but that would not be enough to take her off a TV anchor desk. So, it's still a mystery.

Jerk producer did say those things, even though he probably knew things were not cozy between them. We also don't know if they are still married. We've never seen a domestic scene with them.

Thanks, Anita. I think they are still married and living together, although he's in the doghouse for infidelity. Although, his inviting her to have dinner with him could hint at the opposite and separate residences. I'm not positive why I think they're under the same roof. [Maybe it's because I'd have a hard time kicking out a babe like him.]
