Dani doesn’t want to continue the discussion; she said what she wanted to say, but RobPablo asserts that he didn’t get lost on purpose and those years were terrible for him too. During that time, he thought he was abandoned. He is very sorry for her pain, but no one is at fault. He thinks they shouldn’t suffer more; they should make peace. Dani cries that he doesn’t know how much she hated him; she prayed every day that he would return. When RobPablo asks to hug her, she shakes her head and walks away. Meanwhile, Linda contends that RobPablo and Juls think they are better than they are. Juls doesn’t even like them and she should accept that her future husband has a family. Juls assures her that she will continue encouraging RobPablo’s relationship with his mother. When alone, RobPablo admits to Juls that the situation is much more complicated than he thought.
Ana tells Julián that he now knows the truth and can tell the whole world. He would only liberate her; and the family would stop seeing her as the “good” Ana. She wonders if he is going to blackmail her. When she asks why he pressured her and what he wants from her, Julián responds that he just wants to be close to her, but when Ana reminds him that she is a married woman, Julián tells her there is a world to see; and he wants to show it to her (with her money!?). Ana asks him not to waste his time; and when he hugs her, she doesn’t resist.
At night, RobPablo reflects that inviting his sisters out wasn’t such a good idea, but Juls justifies that it was with good intentions; he needs to give Dani time. As they sit together, Juls wants them to always be together even though they are experiencing what seems to be a tsunami. RobPablo looks at her and tells her he has decided to love her for the rest of his life; he wants to be with her, so there is nothing to fear even if she doesn’t get along with the family. There are families that always interfere, but the important thing is that they remain united. Juls is his most important decision.
Next day--
CatDQ criticizes that Hugo is going to work with a vet; he doesn’t know anything about it. Diana reminds her that it’s a job even if he has to start from the bottom. CatDQ tells Hugo it’s up to him if he chooses to start at the bottom instead of waiting for something where he can utilize his talent, but Hugo wants to work because of Diana.
Frida doesn’t want to go to school because the parents are supposed to go; though Mari reminds her she will be with her. When Frida complains that her father won’t be there, Mari suggests they tell the other children he is on a trip. Mari tries to call Ick, but he is still in bed with Begone and ignores the call. When Frida cries and asks why he left, Mari tells her she needs to accept reality; she can’t stop going to classes…and they can’t stop living because her father isn’t there.
RobPablo notices that Eugenio has a big smile. Eugenio explains he smiles because every time he sees him, the day brightens. Eugenio noticed Blanca was very happy after their time together the day before. He shares that Blanca was talking about his name and last name. A person has their name in their blood…his name is Córsega. Eugenio emphasizes “supposing” RobPablo is going to have a son, he would like his grandson to have his last name.
Ana gets message from Julián who says her secret is safe with him. He wants her to be trust in him.
At the Córsega’s, Imelda thinks about the gender of the baby. Blanca wants a grandson and when one asks one receives; so they need to pray…they can name the baby Juan Pablo. She emphasizes that their plan has to be a secret. Imelda will call Ana so she can take them shopping. They can start with baby clothes and blankets. Each of the baby’s aunts can knit something for him. Blanca is so happy; she can’t believe they will be carrying a baby again. Imelda wants to have a big celebration; and they can also start a prayer chain so the baby will be healthy; but Blanca reminds her they can’t get ahead of the parent’s decisions.
Juls is at work and shares her worries with Luz—her car can’t be repaired and of course her mother and RobPablo’s family, though Blanca has been calmer. Luz talks about her struggles because of her color. She thinks it’s just the way people are and suggests Juls continue being herself. After Juls mentions that she has a sister-in-law that makes her skin crawl, Luz reminds her that the important thing is that she has a husband who loves her. Just then, Juls gets call from CatDQ because she knows Juls won’t call her. She is very worried about Julieta’s brothers, but Juls thinks she needs to have more confidence in them. CatDQ then suggests Juls offer Hugo a job that is worthy of him, but Juls tells her he needs to earn the “good-paying” job.
Hugo is at his first day at work as the Vet explains the job and introduces him to his “son” Picho (a dog) who will ultimately give the approval that he be the new administrator. When alone, Hugo takes Picho and it barks at him.
Mari takes Frida to school as Xavi comes running after them. Frida is still sad because she her father isn’t there… and he doesn’t care about her; so Xavi offers to go as her father’s representative. When Frida agrees and is happy, Xavi thinks it’s the least he can do since they do so much for him. As they enter, women are excited to see Xavi and take pictures with him. Mari can’t believe it…when she was a fan, she only dreamed of being close to him; and now Xavi is there doing this for Frida.
At the hospital, RobPablo walks along the corridor when he sees a woman grabbing a child by the arm. He remembers himself as a child, crying at the market and the woman taking him by the hand.
Ana is in her SUV on the phone and asking Julián what he is doing. Julián is on his way to talk to her nephew.
Blanca and Imelda are at Belén’s store and tell Belén and Amalia that Julieta is pregnant…but it’s a secret. Amalia isn’t really listening; she’s on her phone, but complains that everyone gets what they want…except her.
RobPablo questions Julián and wants to know what he is doing with Ana. He wonders why Ana should she help him when he tried to cheat his mother and grandmother. RobPablo warns him to stay away from Ana; his family now has him to defend them, but Julián isn’t going to go away or let anyone tell him what to do; he does whatever he wants.
At school, Frida has to go up for a presentation; so she walks up with Xavi who imagines that everyone cheers for him. He is supposed to say something about Frida so he says some nice things—she is brave and has had to adapt to a new home and her father being away. He thanks her for being in his life and touching his heart.
Ana gets a text from Tulio asking for her location.
The Córsega ladies et all talk about what they will buy the baby and who the baby will look like. They ask for Ana’s opinion, but she thinks Juls is the one who should make decisions about the baby and how much input they will have about the baby. Juls will not allow them to control her.
Juls is at work when she gets a call from Linda who has an idea and wants to go by her office to talk about it. Juls agrees. Luz laughs at the face Juls was making.
At the restaurant, Gabriel talks to accountant about the numbers not jiving, when Dani walks by. Gabriel sees her and reprimands her for being one minute late. He brings up Benjamin and warns her that he doesn’t want his employees to be distracted. After Dani walks off, Gabriel asks the accountant is he was strict enough. Later, Dani thinks about her friend Benjamin who told her he would always remember her. Otto wonders why she is sad and asks who she was thinking about. When he guesses it was the guy she had been in love with, he suggests she call him.
As they leave the school, Mari thanks Xavi for going with Frida. Because of Ick, she thought all men were liars, but she is impressed that a famous singer like him would take the time to do what he did for Frida. Xavi needs to tell her something important later…and alone…
Hugo catches up with Picho when he runs into his mother who wants to know what he does with that animal. She complains that now he is walking animals; she thought he was going to be an administrator. He tells her the dog gave him the job which elicits a confused look from CatDQ.
Bruno goes to Julieta’s office. Juls thought he had repented and gone to ask for a job. She is disappointed because he is only there to ask for money…she refuses to give him anything.
As Hugo and CatDQ stand together, the vet grabs Picho and asks him if he is ok. He then chides Hugo for letting Bicho run away. When Hugo suggests the dog should run races since he runs so fast, the vet fires him for being irresponsible and a comedian. CatDQ insists that Hugo wasn’t born to take care of Picho, but Hugo doesn’t think a “title” does any good if he can’t find a job. He hopes Bicho will put in a good word for him.
Ana gets home upset and complains to Tulio that the ladies are already planning for the baby. It’s best they don’t invite her to any of those things that affect her. Tulio points out that she is acting the way she used to many years ago; but Ana doesn’t think he cares about what she feels.
At the foundation, RobPablo tells Tavo he remembered being at the market and the woman who took him, but he couldn’t make out her face. He also shares that he saw Ana with Julián and thinks there’s something between them. She always acts mysteriously and thinks they are hiding something.
Ana gets a call from Julián who tells her about his conversation with RobPablo.
Tulio gives Lazaro the third degree. He wants to know who, what, when, where Ana was.
Bruno tells Juls he isn’t really “single.” Juls hopes his girlfriend is responsible, calm, and can help him get his act together, so Bruno replies that, yes, she is all that and more…she will meet her soon.
Blanca and Imelda arrive home with all their bags. They need to wait to see how Julieta will decorate the room before buying the crib. Tulio arrives like a mad bull and asks what they did to upset Ana. He wonders if Imelda told her something about not being able to have a baby…again.
At the restaurant, Dani doesn’t know what to do, but gets up the nerve to call Benjamin as Gabriel walks from behind her and listens. Benjamin answers and is very happy to hear from her. He has been think about her lately because he wants to invite her to his wedding. He is indebted to her because she introduced him to America, her friend.
Linda arrives at Julieta’s office with her proposition. Since she is RobPablo’s fiancée, Juls is the one that has to win her place in the family. Linda will stop making her life miserable if Juls gives her all her clothes…that she wants. Juls laughs and can’t believe Linda would expect her to buy her all she wants, so Linda threatens that she will make her mother hate her if she doesn’t agree. Juls doubts it because she is going to give her mother a grandchild…she is pregnant.
Linda threatens Juls who tells her she is pregnant. Linda doesn’t believe her, but Juls doesn’t care and asks her to leave. Knowing her little scheme didn’t work, Linda backtracks and tells Juls she didn’t express herself well. She meant to say she’d like to borrow some clothes…she likes how Juls dresses. Juls agrees, not because of her threats, but to keep the peace.
On the roof, Xavi confides in Marisol as a friend not as a fan. He confesses that he has lied to her all this time. He is not famous nor does he have money. No one wants to hire him. He is a failure and is in ruin. He doesn’t have money for rent or food. Xavi apologizes for lying he lied to her. She is the only one that still sees him the way he was. Mari starts singing one of his songs and reminds him he wrote it. He is the same man that wrote that song…the same man that so many women followed. His voice brought her consolation and happiness. She suggests that he just needs to reinvent himself. Everything has changed. He showed her not to lie to herself he should do the same. He hugs her.
At the Córsega’s, Tulio continues his attack on Imelda and Blanca. He chides them for putting on these “shows” that upset Ana. Blanca and Imelda had no intention of hurting Ana. Imelda apologizes for what she said those years ago and wonders what she can do to make things better. Tulio asks that they not involve Ana in any of those events that would be upsetting for Ana; they should be considerate because Ana didn’t have the luck they had. Imelda thinks Ana should find something else that could bring them happiness. They could have adopted a child, so not everything is her fault. Imelda knows he hasn’t forgiven her, Tulio didn’t think he had to forgive her. She has done with the family whatever she wants. Imelda points out that he could have stayed to help her change, but the only thing he did was to make things worse. Tulio denies it. He mocks her but she demands he respect her. Tulio chides her for turning Ana’s life into a hell, but Imelda argues that Ana shouldn’t have allowed someone else to ruin her life. Imelda then demands that Tulio leave.
Ana goes to see RobPablo. When she tells him Julián told her he came to see him, RobPablo is surprised that Julián would tell her so quickly. Ana invites RobPablo to the dinner Tulio asked her to organize for the whole family. It will be the first time the family is together in many years.
Linda asks if Juls needs models; she would love to work there. After she leaves, Luz tells Juls to breathe.
Blanca asks Imelda to calm down, but Imelda thinks that, deep down, she knows he is right. She was very harsh with Tulio and Ana; and she didn’t know how Ana suffered…that is what he hasn’t been able to forgive. His look was full of hate for her. She was a mother that wanted to impose her wishes (and she still is). She should talk to Ana and ask for her forgiveness. Imelda fears that she has caused so much harm and made her family so miserable. Blanca tells her to think of the good things she has done. At that time, she thought she was doing the right thing.
At the restaurant, Gabriel wonders what is wrong with Dani. He doesn’t know her long, but long enough to know when there is something wrong. She says it’s stupid things, but he insists on knowing why she is sad; she can confide in him. When Gabriel asks if it is about the one she fell in love with, Dani clarifies that he was her best friend…she never told him how she really felt.
The TV reporter calls Amalia but she doesn’t want to talk to her. Belén tells her she needs to change her attitude, but Amalia wants to be left alone. Belén wonders if Amalia is going to allow herself to be defeated by what happened. This is her opportunity to accept herself as she is and should take advantage of her talent. Amalia doesn’t think she has the image needed to be star; so Belén reminds her that their 60’s are just around the corner; and it’ll be 60 times more difficult.
Ana arrives home and orders Lazaro to take everything down. She chides him for looking at her and not hurrying. When inside, Ana tells Tulio that all the family will be there for dinner. When Tulio asks about his mother, she tells him she is willing to make peace. Tulio asks about how she is feeling because he has noticed her mood changes and thinks she may need help again. When he wonders if she would like to postpone the dinner, she gets upset and refuses to change the plans…this way the family can see she is fine with Julieta’s pregnancy.
At her apartment, Juls tells Linda the clothes are ready. Rob arrives and sees Linda who says Juls is so cool to lend her some clothes. RobPablo is pleased that they are getting along. Juls shows Linda a dress, but Linda wants another one she had seen her wearing. She goes to Juls closet and starts taking out clothes. If Juls is going to do her the favor, she should do it right. Linda pulls out a dress that she adores, but Juls says it’s her favorite. When Juls questions why she needs so many clothes, Linda replies she has a lot of events to go to. Linda starts yelling for “Juanpi,” but once he approaches, she tells him everything is wonderful. RobPablo is shocked at the amount of clothes she’s taking, but Linda tells him not to worry. After she leaves, RobPablo asks Juls if she was pressured…Juls denies it shaking her head and looking distressed.
At night on the roof, Xavi sings as Mari and Frida brings dinner. Frida tells him some mothers want his autograph which pleases Xavi. After Frida leaves, Mari tells Xavi that it was so important to her that he told her the truth. The good thing about what’s happening is that they both have hit bottom and can start again. She wonders if she can help him be who he used to be.
Before the dinner--
Audifaz can’t believe Tulio invited them. He thinks they have repented about pushing them away.
Imelda wonders if Tulio will still be angry; so Blanca reminds her that Ana invited them and her sisters. Imelda says she is in no condition to receive any maltreatments.
Juls tells RobPablo that she wonders what happened between Tulio and the family. It’s hard to understand his family and worries that the baby will be born under stressful (family) conditions.
At the dinner--
Ana welcomes the family with exaggerated smiles. As they arrive, Juls whispers to RobPablo that if things don’t go well during the pregnancy they may have to choose between his family and their tranquility, but RobPablo is confident that his mom has been discreet about the pregnancy. When Amalia wants to know the purpose of the dinner, Ana announces that it’s for the news …about Roberto and Juls. Imelda and Blanca try to keep Ana from elaborating; Imelda says that it’s because of Robert’s return, but Ana continues that she and her husband would like to be the first to celebrate Juls’s PREGNANCY!! As RobPablo looks at his mother with piercing eyes and disappointment, Blanca wants a rock to hide under. Blanca reminds Ana that it was a secret, and RobPablo interjects that they had only told his mother who had promised to be discreet. Linda defends her mother and reminds Juls that she had already told her so it wasn’t too much of a secret. Imelda worries that now everyone will think they like to gossip (ya think!). When Blanca justifies that she just wanted to share her happiness, Eugenio and Audifaz suggest they celebrate, so Ana proposes a toast to the grandchild.
Eugenio chides Blanca for speaking more than she should, but Blanca repeats that she just wanted to share her happiness. Eugenio scolds her for not wanting to accept that Ana is very envious, but Blanca can’t believe Ana had ill intentions. Eugenio thinks they have been together for so many years and she still hasn’t learned, but Blanca retorts that it has been so many years of not saying what she feels and tells him to leave her alone.
Ana tells RobPablo and Juls she didn’t mean to be impertinent. If she had known it was a secret, she wouldn’t have said anything. She wanted to unite the family, but she ended up separating the family.
In the kitchen, Tulio and Polita are amazed with all the food and wonder if they could take some even from the pantry. When Tulio overhears Audifaz saying that (Tulio) feels more important, Tulio points out that it’s a result of many years of hard work. Lazy people always think hard working people have “luck.”
Imelda advises RobPablo and Juls that they should marry. RobPablo reminds her that it is their decision. Ana agrees, but Imelda insists and uses the “I’m old and don’t have that much time” line. Juls thinks that a wedding can’t be planned from one day to the next. Imelda suggests the wedding be in a couple of weeks because a bride with a baby-tummy just doesn’t look right.
Back in the kitchen, Tulio and Audifaz continue their shouting match. Eugenio intervenes and tells them they should be fighting over such trivial things...they are brothers after all. Tulio continues and says he didn’t want to offend Audifaz but still contends that Audifaz has nothing he could say anything good about. Eugenio demands they respect each other; after all, they are there to celebrate his grandson. Since the three brothers are together, they should talk with more mescal and less shouting.
Linda starts throwing her daggers at Juls and asks her if she is running from the scandal. Linda reminds her that she has to win a place in the family and adds Juls was sharp to get pregnant by her brother. Juls thinks Linda is talking nonsense and demands she return her clothes. When she tells Linda to cool it, Linda retorts that no one sets limits on her. Blanca approaches and chides Linda for talking to Juls in such a way. Linda mentions the dress, so Blanca chides her some more for bothering Juls. Linda complains that everything is about Juls and RobPablo…she is tired of it; so she leaves. Blanca apologizes to Juls, but Juls tells her the problem is not the dress. Mari then asks Blanca to let her talk to Juls.
RobPablo sees Dani and asks for Juls. Dani asks if he is ok and thinks that if she were him, she would feel really bad. She wonders if he doesn’t feel like running away. When Dani mentions it was his blood calling to him, he agrees and says that he was also searching for it for so many years. Dani thinks his task is not an easy one…to learn to love; and as she extends her hand and he accepts it, she confesses that she admires that he chose to stay instead of running away.
Juls tells Mari that she loves RobPablo and doesn’t care how long she will have to put up with Linda. Mari agrees that Linda isn’t easy to get along with, but thinks Linda lacked some TLC. They couldn’t live as a normal family; they always lived with guilt, ignorance and uncertainty. And as RobPablos overhears, Mari confides that they were victims of RobPablo’s absence.
Blanca tells her sisters that she shouldn’t have said anything. Amalia and Belen try to console her, but Blanca fears that RobPablo and Juls won’t want to talk to her and that RobPablo will leave.
RobPablo sits with Juls, so Mari goes to look for Blanca. Juls thinks the whole thing is funny…not really, but there’s no use in getting angry; and she doesn’t want to waste any more of her energy. Juls wants to find Blanca and tell her not to feel bad. Rob brings up that they have other things to think about; he thinks they should listen to Imelda… the sooner they get married, the better.
Your headings, especially “A Miserable Dinner at Les Miserables” were fragrant flowers in and of themselves. "Ana welcomes the family with exaggerated smiles" and "RobPablo looks at his mother with piercing eyes and disappointment" conveyed all the palpable emotions perfectly.
Why I love Juan Pablo:"There are families that always interfere, but the important thing is that they remain united. Juls is his most important decision."
Every day we see the life shattering pain Juan Pablo’s abduction caused. Old wounds are reopened as the family struggles with the past as they try to resolve their own and each other's personal pain. There was an incalculable toll on so many lies from that one, utterly selfish, utterly cruel action. “When RobPablo asks to hug her, she shakes her head and walks away”. Raw and unimaginable pain.
Blanca so excited about the baby! I don’t blame her a bit. I have switched my concerns about Julieta being smothered however. The baby will likely not know a moment’s peace as Blanca will surely try to recapture every lost moment with Juan Pablo through her new grandchild.
I meant to mention yesterday how touched I was by a lovely scene between Eugenio and Blanca. I believed he thanked her for never giving up, for always believing. When she left the room, his “I love you” seemed to drift across the room like a warm, enveloping hug. My eyes misted.
Benjamin. “When Gabriel asks if it is about the one she fell in love with, Dani clarifies that he was her best friend…she never told him how she really felt”. I readily admit this came as shock. Did we know about him or have we seen him previously? I thought Gabi was her first crush. What happened to the scenes of them quietly thinking of the other? That seems to have evaporated (at least on Dani’s end) and now, boom, the revelation Dani had been in love and suffered silently.
“Tulio chides her for turning Ana’s life into a hell”. And Ana returned that favor tenfold. “They couldn’t live as a normal family; they always lived with guilt, ignorance and uncertainty” said everything.
“CatDQ tells Hugo it’s up to him if he chooses to start at the bottom instead of waiting for something where he can utilize his talent…” I’m sorry, I must have blinked when his “talent” was explained. What pray tell is his talent exactly?? I finally enjoyed a scene Hugo was in but that was thanks to Picho.
“Linda reminds her that she has to win a place in the family and adds Juls was sharp to get pregnant by her brother”. Just go away.
Again, Juan Pablo and Julieta have showed love and compassion by forgiving Blanca. I couldn't fault her either. You can just see and feel how her life was shattered and how desperately she is trying to fix it.
RgvChick, outstanding. Thank you!
Diana
Where to start?
I am appreciating the fact that they are making Robert's reintegration into his birth family very realistic by showing how it seriously affected everyone and not just his parents. It is going to take effort from everyone to make it work.
Talking about "effort", Hugo seems to be learning his lesson. I was impressed by his perseverance in wanting to work with the vet and realizing his 'title" wasn't going to feed him.
Still on the topic of "effort", Audifaz seems to have missed that life lesson that Hugo is learning since it seems he always has been the goof-off brother. Anyway, Tulio's reaction to Audifaz calling him "lucky" was priceless because he is right that he has worked hard for all he has. I bet Polita's Tupperware didn't make a big impression either. Audifaz and Polita are becoming less funny for me as we find out more about them.
I was impressed to see Eugenio as the peacemaker.
The dinner party sure brought out the worst in most. It would be good if it cleared the air but there is just too much deep seated resentment and hatred there.
Linda is just a b****. I sure hope she gets her comeuppance with obnoxious Bruno and Cornelio's revenge plan.
I liked that Luz brought up the discrimination she has faced because of her skin color.
As for Julián? That continues to be a mystery yet to be solved.
Julian certainly IS a mystery. Is he at all drawn to Ana and if so, in what way?
I am a bit perturbed at myself for starting to get a bit interested in his and Ana's storyline. Two rephrehensibles. Credit the writing team for managaing that...
Diana
I didn't want to be snookered into the Julián situation either but ITA that the writers' are making that impossible. They are sure doing a great job as well with the endless ramifications of Juan Pablo's abduction.
I can't say again, but I will, how much I am enjoying this novela.
" ...Tulio's reaction to Audifaz calling him "lucky" was priceless because he is right that he has worked hard for all he has."
True, but what is so interesting about this telenovela is that while Tulio has all the financial success and material trappings that go with it, he is miserable, his wife is miserable, and their relationship is a wreck.
OTH, Tulio and Polita, while being ne'er-do-wells and would truly starve to death if not fed by Blanca, they truly love one another and their son, support each other, have good communication; they have all the non-tangible things that Tulio & Ana lack.
Catalina is sooo toxic! Who on earth is she to tell Hugo to sit home, unemployed, until the right position that is worthy of him comes along. Hel-lo?!? With no job experience, nobody will hire him at such a level.
That woman is certifiably crazy. Totes cray cray..
Linda .... what can I say except that she seems to be a sociopath. Maybe she will trip and fall down in front of a bus. Soon. One can only hope.
OMG Linda!!! That girl needs, as my brother would say, a beat down. She has won over Bruno, I don't believe for a second he is still seeking revenge for Corny, but her being called out by that guy at dinner wasn't enough.
Tulio is still a mystery to me. I don't know whether to feel bad for him or dislike him. Obviously not being able to have a child was traumatic for both he and Ana, and turned Ana into a sociopath. I can just imagine though how suffocating Imelda was too and obviously said some horrible things to Tulio, which drove him away from the family and made him bitter. The fact that he still loves Ana says something....Why Ana wouldn't look into other ways to have a child is a mystery.
I don't mind Ana letting out the pregnancy secret. I mean Blanca had practically told everyone and was buying clothes and planning on buying a crib. They need to learn to back off a bit.
Can't wait to watch this episode when I get home.
Diana, "Blanca so excited about the baby! I don’t blame her a bit." ITA Robert and Julieta should have known better than to expect her to keep it a secret. They know her well enough already.
Jarifa, " they are making Robert's reintegration into his birth family very realistic" yes, they are! I kept wondering when Robert was going to turn his focus away from Blanca and Imelda and on to his sisters. I am SO impressed with the writers...WOW!! kudos to them and the directors.
Doris, I like the way you brought out the differences between Tulio/Ana and Audifaz/Polita. I hadn't really thought about it, but, you're right...what one has, the other is lacking.
Steve, no one "ordered" a kidnapping. JP was taken/stolen to an orphanage by his Aunt Ana as a child...that's how he got separated from his family.
Carvivlie, "I don't know whether to feel bad for him or dislike him." Me neither! he still has so much anger for his mother, and he is trying to make amends with the she-devil; BUT he has shown us that he does have a glimmer of a heart.
They really need to change Linda's name...maybe to La Leon-a
Juls thinks that a wedding can’t be planned from one day to the next. Imelda suggests the wedding be in a couple of weeks because a bride with a baby-tummy just doesn’t look right.
I’ll confess I was nodding in agreement with abuela. The metiche was on point. Why get married in a maternity gown when you don’t have to? Rob and Julieta should step it up. And yes, Imelda was cruel advising her son to dump his barren wife, but Tulio and Ana were grownups who should’ve bound together and handled it. I like abuela standing up for herself and not letting Tulio place the sole blame on her for their last 30 years of misery.
In the kitchen, Tulio and Polita are amazed with all the food and wonder if they could take some even from the pantry.
They were even going to hit the pantry! Geez Louise! Poor Aris. When Audifaz is poaching food, he seems to forget all about making his son proud of him.
Eugenio scolds her for not wanting to accept that Ana is very envious, but Blanca can’t believe Ana had ill intentions.
Attaboy, Eugenio! I loved him forging peace between the three brothers. Could he be the only person in this TN who’s happy and satisfied with who he is? So glad he is onto Ana, who hoped to insert another wedge between Rob and his mom with her blabbing. Where is the repentance Ana showed just a day ago?
I'm struggling because what we've seen the past day or so just doesn't jive with what we saw initially. If I'm recalling correctly, Tulio treated Ana with scathing contempt the first few times we saw him. I got the distinct impression he loathed her. Then, rather out of the blue the other night, he tries to smooth over what was likely years of a very rocky relationship. She seemed very afraid and that indicated his behavior was peculiar and unexpected. If he is in his own version of hell now, he put himself there.
Diana
What Imelda did to both of them was inexcusable though. She is accountable for making tragic circumstances dire ones.
Diana
Diana, I've wondered (based on absolutely nothing in the story so far) if Tulio got bad news from a physician. What would trigger him to suddenly care about Ana after all these years?
If that is indeed the case, no wonder Ana looked truly stricken!
I have a feeling you are spot on as you have been on so many occasions!
Thank you.
Diana
Diana: "What happened to the scenes of them quietly thinking of the other? That seems to have evaporated (at least on Dani’s end) and now, boom, the revelation Dani had been in love and suffered silently."
So I don't think we've ever met Benjamin, but we know they met in university...they were in the same major? Dani is the type of person who says you should leave things in the past so she probably tried moving away from the thought of ever meeting Benjamin again and settled with she would never need a man anyway and she prefers furniture to men or whatever she said way back in the first episodes. I guess she hadn't thought about the pain until now with people asking. I think she highly doubts Gabriel likes her at this point which is sad because that man is head over heels for her in my opinion.
Jarifa: " I am appreciating the fact that they are making Robert's reintegration into his birth family" me too. I appreciate anything that has to do with Robert trying to strengthen that bond with his family and vice versa. I really like that they're not rushing this. He didn't jump into the family and everything is okay....everyone spent years with this pain some have tried pushing it down and now all the pain is resurfacing and trying to settle in the past, but some pain still lurks.
I'm glad Xavi finally told Marisol the truth! It was about time. I love her reaction. She immediately supported her. What atrue fan haha and a good friend i would say. I hope that relationship keeps growing.
Tulio, Ana and Julian and the three character that I'm just so confused about. I'm not sure how I'm supposed to feel about them or where their story is going. Are Julian and Ana gonna be a thing. (I'd rather we not) Tulio and Ana reconcile....that could be interesting....Tulio finds out about Julian...that's probably definitely going to happen. It's a TN. I hope he becomes less cold with his family. Do you guys think they could all get along well by the end?

Tulio seemed so awful in the beginning with Ana but now with some insight into their past he seems less so. Like Ana stated, they are like strangers now. We don't know how long they have been this way though but things changed the year she left JP at that orphanage and haven't been the same. Maybe he is just one of those people that isn't likable but comes from personality, not actions.
I don't trust Julian one iota. He wants money and he is going to play Ana for it in every way possible.
Ana prayed to be forgiven and free but that forgiveness can only come from the family. It will be awful for her but telling the truth and facing its consequences can't be worse than the last 34 years of prison walls she has built around herself.
"It will be awful for her but telling the truth and facing its consequences can't be worse than the last 34 years of prison walls she has built around herself". Beyond impressed Carvivlie.
Why do I love this blog? You need only read the recaps and comments. Such insight, intelligence and generosity from everyone.
Thank you all for making this a true pleasure.
Two more hours tonight! I couldn't be happier.
Diana
I've been super busy lately with chores and recapping, so I apologize for not acknowledging your brilliant ideas and comments, but I do make time to at least read all the commentary...it makes the TN so much more interesting than it already is.
