Blanca just doesn’t believe Julieta’s explanation about her stomach upset. She thinks that the nausea could be a sign of pregnancy.
In her kitchen, Blanca confides her suspicions to Imelda who is now convinced they should not meddle in the couple’s life, especially since they gave their word. Imelda thinks that if Juls were pregnant she would have surely told Juan Pablo. Just then, Frida comes in squealing followed by Marisol. Blanca complains to Mari about the man on the roof who hasn’t paid his rent, but Marisol makes excuses for him and asks her to be patient. After she tells Blanca the man has a lot of money and will pay soon, Blanca wonders if Mari is friends with him or knows the man.
Blanca goes and bangs on Xavi’s door and yells that if he doesn’t pay she will throw him out. Her banging is futile other than bringing on her own pain.
In their apartment, Julieta is folding laundry and wonders if RobPablo had any more memories after he saw the photos of his childhood, but he doesn’t think it’s going to be easy to recall his entire past. As RobPablo notices that Juls is not herself and seems nervous, Juls blames it on Blanca who is insisting on a grandchild. RobPablo shares that Blanca wants a grandchild to carry on the family name, but he doesn’t think he would make a good father. He would be too apprehensive and overprotective; he surely wouldn’t have a peaceful night.
At a park, Xavi continues his talk to the man who is trying to convince him to perform at a commercial center. Xavi finally agrees because he desperately needs the money. He asks the man for an advance and that he go pay his rent…he doesn’t want to pay it himself because he doesn’t want them to find out he is bankrupt. [Mexican Version: When Xavi gets home, he knows he must live in the present and forget about the successful past. He decides to get rid of all the awards and other things that remind him of the good life he had.]
Blanca complains to Audifaz that the man has not paid the rent. Audifaz tells her to calm down, but Blanca complains that everyone keeps telling her to calm down. Polita comes in and Blanca tells her she suspects Julieta is the one who is pregnant. Blanca thinks that her son is going to give her a grandson, but can’t be sure since Julieta denied it to her face! But she can’t meddle because then she would be “invasive.”
At the Córsega home, Imelda tells Ana she thought that when they invited Juan Pablo to dinner with Tulio, she would be invited too. Ana reassures her that Tulio only wanted something simple. Just then, Blanca comes in upset about the man who hasn’t paid the rent. Imelda shares that she is also worried that Marisol is getting involved with the man. Imelda gets on her “elder” high horse and thinks they should help Mari straighten up her life. Blanca adds that Mari should think of Frida who is out of control (how the heck is Frida out of control?). When Imelda comments that Mari shouldn’t live there without assuming responsibility, Blanca agrees and needs to give Mari a dose of reality; so she will charge her rent and the food they consume.
At the bakery, Eugenio tells Mari he will always support her but she shouldn’t forget her responsibilities. He thinks people don’t see a woman alone with a child the same as a woman who can dedicate herself to her home.
At the Córsega home, Imelda notes that Ana needs to find something else to do other than take care of her since RobPablo has returned. As Linda comes in, she warns Ana that they are all out of sorts because things are not the way they want them to be. When Blanca finds out Linda is going out without her permission, Blanca tells her she can’t be there skimming off of them so she needs to go help in the kitchen.
At CatDQ’s house, Bruno is on the phone talking to Linda who has to stay home and help. Bruno chides her for being one of those girls who still has to ask permission to go out. Blanca overhears Linda complain and brings it to her attention.
After Marisol can’t withdraw money because of insufficient funds, she calls Icknacio to ask that he deposit the support money for Frida, but he refuses because he hasn’t gotten paid. Mari is furious and demands he take responsibility; he needs to pay for Frida’s school…he hasn’t even called Frida once. Icknacio tells her not to bother him and hangs up.
CatDQ comes to visit Julieta and wants to talk alone with her. When she sees RobPablo taking laundry out, she complains that they don’t even have someone to help, but Juls remarks they need to save money since she and her brothers did away with their money and lost their savings. CatDQ wants to know what’s going on since Juls hasn’t visited for several days and chides Juls for not even knowing that Bruno had to return home and quit the university since she is no longer helping them. Juls retorts that Bruno is not her responsibility. Juls then thinks she doesn’t want to have a child because she doesn’t want the child to be as miserable as she has been because of CatDQ.
On his way to the roof, RobPablo runs into Audifaz who points out that his girlfriend has him under her control. Blanca will be furious if she knows he is hanging out laundry. When RobPablo points out it’s none of his business, Audifaz argues that Aris admires him too and doesn’t want Aris to follow his example. RobPablo walks off and gets to the roof where he discovers Xavi as he plays the piano and sings as he cries inconsolably. Juan Pablo clears his throat to make himself known and apologizes for interrupting. He praises Xavi’s talent and offers to help. Xavi refuses because no one can help when everything goes wrong. RobPablo suggests that is the best time to start over…when things are falling apart, it’s best to let them fall to the bottom.
At the apartment, Juls continues to defend herself to CatDQ. Juls needs to think about making her own home, but CatDQ questions why she would want a home if she doesn’t want to have children…and by the way, it’s good she doesn’t want them because she would be a terrible mother (skin the Cat pleeeaase!)
Back at the CatClawing, Juls insists that she will not dish out any more money. CatDQ tries to give her a guilt trip and tells her Bruno has problems studying; and now he feels pressured because she has been demanding he bring her his reports...it’s an injustice. Juls doesn’t fall for it and refuses to give in. When CatDQ points out that she is successful, Juls retorts that she has worked hard for it. Either way, Juls doesn’t have money to give away...not even a savings. CatDQ thinks Juls is being influenced by her in-laws…her mother-in-law has turned her against her own mother. When CatDQ pretends to cry, Juls tells her she has her own problems and walks away.
At the Córsega kitchen, Linda asks for help in making rice but Blanca refuses. She thinks Linda considers them her slaves. When Ana wonders what is really upsetting Blanca so much, Blanca confides she has a problem with RobPablo’s girlfriend…she is almost sure she is pregnant (wrong person to tell!) but won’t confide in her.
At the CatClawing, Juls asks CatDQ to leave her alone, but CatDQ refuses to leave until she gives her a response (until she gets her way).; so Juls decides to be the one to leave. Just then Blanca arrives with some rice. When Juls refuses to eat, CatDQ comes out to defend Juls, but Blanca is glad CatDQ is there because she is worried that Juls is not eating…something is going on and Juls doesn’t want to tell her. CatDQ, however, asks Blanca not to force Juls to eat. They squabble some more until Blanca gives up, but she will leave the food in the kitchen. While Blanca is in the kitchen, CatDQ thinks that meddlesome and insufferable woman will be the end of Julieta’s relationship. Meanwhile, Blanca has been eavesdropping when she gets a call from one of her sisters. They need to go to the church for a mass to give thanks for Juan Pablo’s return.
Up on the roof, RobPablo confides that he took piano lessons as a child, so Xavi lets him play.
Blanca advises Juls they need to leave to the church soon, so Juls goes to look for RobPablo…he went to the roof. Blanca, without fail, criticizes Juls for making him help with the laundry; so CatDQ defends Juls and questions the mass. Blanca comments that she doesn’t know what kind of mother CatDQ is, but she is one that celebrates the return of her son.
On the roof, RobPablo likes the song Xavi is singing, it makes him think of his girlfriend. As Juls arrives, she hears RobPablo tell Xavi that she is the love of his life. As they hug, RobPablo dedicates the song to her and Xavi continues to sing.
Blanca calls out to the girls and hurries them off to the church.
At the church, Juls prays that she find her path. The priest talks about the family not giving up hope and gives his blessing. Meanwhile, Ana gets a text from Julián asking her to the movies. After the priest shares that another mass was also requested for the ones who can’t have children, Amalia admits she was the one that made the request. RobPablo clarifies that they don’t want to have children. When Amalia insists on knowing why, Belen asks her to control herself and Blanca suggests they can cancel the mass. Imelda adds that they want the priest to marry the couple. The priest then turns to Juls and advises that she should accept what the Lord offers…after they get married, they may have a child…one never knows. Everyone starts shooting remarks, but when Linda laughs, Juls becomes overwhelmed and walks out. RobPablo gets up and goes to Linda and hisses, “ Enough!” CatDQ follows Juls and tells her that family is going to eat her alive, but Juls wants to be alone. As CatDQ walks away, Ana approaches Juls and suggests her mother is right…she shouldn’t have remained close to the Córsegas. They will do her in as well as her marriage… IF they allow her to get married. When Ana leaves, Juls wonders what she should do.
Back in the church, RobPablo asks Linda what her problem is. Linda says her family is sometimes pathetic. She shouldn’t have laughed, but it was funny how the family spilled everything to the priest and asked for prayers that Juls gets pregnant.
Once back in their apartment, Robert comments about how they didn’t know how his family was. He wants to rebuild his relationship with them, but he loves her…Juls is the most important person in his life. Juls knows they are part of the family now…they live in the same building. Just then, RobPablo asks if Julieta is hungry because he has being thinking of some cookies with white chocolate and almonds and a big glass of milk (he’s getting cravings!!). He is puzzled at his craving for something sweet…it’s like an obsession. He jests that he might even think he has sympathy pregnancy cravings. He laughs at the thought of them being pregnant.
Eugenio talks to Blanca about not pressuring RobPablo, but she points out she didn’t make any comments at the church. He, however, knows that those comments derived from their house. He warns Blanca that RobPablo and Juls are going to end up hating them. Blanca then gets up to go talk to Marisol; she want to tell her she needs get with it and not let her life fall apart.
At her home, Ana responds to Julián and thanks him for the invite; she will call him the next day. Tulio comes in and senses something is wrong, but Ana dismisses it. Tulio then suggests they should take some vacation days which takes Ana by surprise. Tulio feels it’s been several years that they have avoided each other, though they have always remained together. Isn’t it worth it to see what is left between them?
In their bedroom, RobPablo removes Juls's neck brace and says the best medicine is kisses. As he kisses her, the doorbell rings. Juls thinks it’s his mother, but when RobPablo gets up to open the door, CatDQ stands there with luggage in tow. She has problems at her home and Juls has her own problems; she needs Juls, and today she confirmed that Juls needs her…so she has decided to live with them (oh, yay!)!!
The "Mass of Thanksgiving" turned into one chaotic mess especially with Imalia's and Emelda's commentaries.
Poor Julieta. She has a mother and a mother-in-law from hell!
"Her banging is futile other than bringing on her own pain" was inspired.
Simply lovely.
"he doesn’t think he would make a good father. He would be too apprehensive and overprotective; he surely wouldn’t have a peaceful night". Robert is so good and kind, we forget the terrible emotional scars he carries. How utterly sad.
And yet, Robert always has time to comfort, to nourish, to love. "RobPablo suggests that is the best time to start over…when things are falling apart, it’s best to let them fall to the bottom". What wise kind words to Xavi. Robert could easily have walked away, yet his caring nature made him indulge in yet another act of kindness.
"CatDQ thinks that meddlesome and insufferable woman will be the end of Julieta’s relationship". Surely she was looking in a mirror, wasn't she?
So many interesting (and strange) events.
Of course the CATastrophic (sorry couldn't help myself) made me cringe. Is there a more selfish human being on earth? And the Tulio attempted reconciliation gesture at Ana made me squirm (I shrink from his presence). Linda being her annoying self and poor Amalia always saying the wrong thing at the wrong time are becoming staples here.
And Julieta. Her tears, pain and confusion seemed so very real. But how can she possibly clear her thoughts when her venomous mother is now even more in the mix? Poor, poor girl.
Delightful from start to finish RgvChick. Thank you so much!
Diana
Well, it looks like Catalina will not be denied in her position of "mother" eventhough she isn't much of one.
How much more can Julieta take before she lets them all have it especially after the horrendous showcasing in the church as a "woman who does not want children" (as if it were a crime)? Oh, joy, it looks like the Córcega's are planning her wedding, too. She and Robert should elope.
Diana, I, too, found Robert afraid to have children very sad. You are so right that we tend to forget his past due to the incredible human being he grew up to be.
Thumbs up to Blanca for telling Linda she is sick of her taking advantage of them and treating them as her slaves.
Looks like Marisol is going to be under the gun to get Ignacio to pay child support with Blanca going to ask her to pay rent and for food. Court, anyone? The time has come for Marisol to get a job.
Where are they going to put Catalina? How big is Julieta's place?
I hope Julieta gets some peace soon.
Hear, hear Jarifa!
After reading your thoughtful comments about Julieta, I am starting to admire her even more. She hasn't once acted out of anger or frustration although she has had plenty of reason to do so.
Sometimes, people lack common sense. What happened at the church went far beyond that. It was plainly, pitifully ignorant. Not to mention hurtful. And insulting.
Diana
I'm surprised all of the stress hasn't caused Juli to miscarry. Juli, for her own sanity, has to turn her mother away. But I did like that Cat stood up for Juli as Blanca kept pushing the rice on her. Blanca doesn't know how to take "no" for an answer.
Audi was right when he said to Polita if Juli is pregnant they won't let her breathe.
I wonder if Blanca would be so hard on Mari if she wasn't divorced? I mean Dani works, used to, but I don't remember her being asked for rent. Blanca is taking the stress of the Juli situation out on her daughters.
I feel a migraine coming on every time CatDQ is on the TV screen. Las Metiches were bad enough, but Cat moving in, UNINVITED, just proves that things can always be worse. 😜😜😜😜😜
Thank goodness for the FFWD--->>> button on the remote control.
The gratitude mass . . . What a train wreck!
Blanca and Imelda wearing their mantilla to church visually drive home the generation gap between them and everyone else, including Blanca's sisters. Oh, wait, then it might be more of a cultural gap? Here in the U.S. the Catholic church did away with requiring women to cover their hair sometime in the 1960s, IIRC
The mass--CATastrophic, train wreck, chaotic mess...all worthy of describing that horrendous attack on Julieta. How she is keeping it together is miraculous...they should have a mass for her...NOT!!
And we did push Robert aside, didn't we. It took a reminder of his fears to help us refocus on his own plight.
Carvivlie, "I wonder if Blanca would be so hard on Mari if she wasn't divorced?" Good question! It seems to me Blanca is using that as a tactic to "punish" Marisol rather than to help.
Isn't it pathetic how Blanca and CatDQ see other's people's shortcomings and not their own?
What I did question was why Robert only focused on Linda at the church. It would have been a perfect time to address ALL the metiches and criticonas. He could have told them what Eugenio has been trying to tell them...the family is just going to drive them away.
Catalina decides that they both need each other so she informs Julieta that she is moving in. Julieta tries to talk her into going back to her own house but Catalina insists Julieta needs her to fend off Blanca. Julieta almost has her out the door but Robert already has her things moved into the guest room. Julieta tries to convince Robert that Catalina can't stay because Julieta has so much on her mind. Robert wants to know what. It's the catalogue launch and she can't be distracted, their apartment is small and his family is just across the way. If Catalina stays, it will turn out badly. He remarks that she seems desperate. Julieta insists he does not know what a manipulator she is. Robert wants her to calm down. No, that is something Julieta cannot do. Suddenly, Catalina is demanding attention because "she feels like she is dying", Robert goes running and is taken in.
Linda meets Bruno at the shopping plaza in a shoe store. They are both so glad to see each other and He has her surprise for her. Yes, they are getting to know each other and going out so he wants to accompany her in every step she takes. He has some sparkly slip on athletic shoes for her. She loves them. She feels bad she has nothing for him and quickly talks him into letting her buy him something.
Blanca is on Marisol's case for her to contribute. They need the financial help. Blanca feels that if she were to not ask Marisol to contribute she would be doing her a disservice. Marisol is upset she doesn't have a job and Ignacio hasn't given her any money. Blanca explains that she will never deny her or Frida food or a roof over their heads but Marisol needs to take control of her life. Marisol needs to get ahead for herself and for Frida. She needs to be the strong one.
Julieta fills Luz in on the latest. Catalina is staying with them because Robert says she's really ill. Julieta is ready to explode with all of the pressures in her life. Blanca calls. Catalina would not let her in with some food she had for Robert. Julieta tells her to go back and ring the door bell until Catalina opens the door and to tell her that Julieta has told her she can come in and give Robert his breakfast. Luz proclaims that the "mother in law" war has begun. Julieta is not getting involved. Julieta has not even has had the time to tell Robert she is pregnant. God forbid Robert's family finds out because then they would be having them married like tomorrow and would start criticizing her about how she was handling the pregnancy and would want her to quit. Luz cannot believe she cannoypt depend on her own mother. Julieta knows Catalina would be the first to criticize her. Then, she really doesn't want to pass all of her anxiety on to the baby. Julieta smiles. She never thought she would have a baby inside her and least of all now when they are inundated with work. Luz suggests she just tell Robert and put the limits on e everybody else. Luz agrees it won't be easy. A phone call ends their talk.
Julieta calls Diana to find out how Catalina ended up at her place. Diana tells her things haven't been good on the home front since Bruno moved back. He definitely was not studying. He fooled Julieta. Diana has to go. She has a meeting with a famiily. It is Audifaz and crew.
At Blanca's, Imelda is declaring that they cannot allow Catalina the mother in law to live with Juan Pablo. Mother in laws are unbearable and extremely difficult. What did Julieta tell Blanca? To have Catalina open the door and for Blanca to state what she wants clearly. Imelda sees that as Julieta sending out an SOS: asking for their help. Poor Julieta! Imelda thinks that she must feel protected by the two of them because she sees they are the opposite of what her mother is since they are sweet, peace loving, open, discreet, kind and prudent. They are perfect mother in laws!!!
At Julieta's, Robert is getting to experience the Catalina Julieta knows as she starts criticizing Julieta from the get go when Robert asks why Julieta left so early. Catalina states that Julieta left early because she cannot stand her mother. Eventhough she is her daughter, Julieta is strange. She gives Robert some orange juice. Catalina has a lot to think about but she is feeling better. She wants to make Robert breakfast. He declines the offer. Since she is going to be staying "a few" days (Catalina frowns when she hears that) he doesn't want her to be the hired help. She insists she is there to put a few things in order in this building. The door bell rings and it is Blanca and Imelda. Robert says they didn't have to bother making him breakfast. Immediately, Catalina tries to one up them by telling them that she can fix him breakfast because she knows exactly what he likes and calls him"son". Blanca is upset hearing that. Catalina then criticizes some families forcing people to use the title "mamá". He's Robert. No, he is Juan Pablo., Robert explains that his mother in law Catalina is going to be spending a few days there. Blanca thinks Catalina is very accommodating, Some mother in laws come and never leave. Catalina has an idea. All three of them can put a breakfast together for their adorable Robert. Blanca corrects her: Juan Pablo. She sends himto was his hands.
Things get nastier quickly in the kitchen with Catalina announcing they will be having a food competition. She knows what Blanca's and Imelda's game is. They want to make Julieta's life impossible. Catalina remembers when Blanca didn't know that Robert was her son, she described him as divine and Julieta as a witch. Blanca denies it and they call Catalina "creative" and a busybody. Catalina cannot believe that now Blanca is forcing Julieta to call her mamá and to be the best of friends. They insist they really like Julieta now.
Julieta is running a huge meeting with the Cklass vendors and, of course, who shows up? Auntie Belén and Auntie Amalia. They are all excited that they are related to the vice "President iof Creativity". Amalia makes sure everybody knows., Julieta feels woozy at one point. Luz reminds her that she has to tell Robert about the baby.
Daniela and Linda are discussing Blanca charging Marisol to stay at the family home. Daniela can understand it because their parents are ok'd and have a lot of expenses..Daniela has been giving them money for a while now. Linda doesn't give them anything and they haven't asked her yet. That would be a very ugly scene because they are her "parents." Marisol chimes in with it is okay that they have asked her for rent. She just doesn't have a job. Daniela tells her to have Ignacio help her. Linda agrees. Marisol hems and haws.,Damiela then tells her to get a job so she doesn't have to be waiting for his money. Marisol isn't prepared for any job really.. Daniela tells her she is going to be working as a waitress inspite of having a technical career. Linda thinks she was born to be a "kept woman". Marisol wonders what kind of job she will find.
Xavi breaks his piggy jar expecting to find money. He finds practically nothing. That is it. He is going to have to take the job.
Catalina, Blanca and Imelda all invade Robert's bedroom and stand and stare at him. He just wants to be alone and use the bathroom. They finally get a clue and leave. Robert looks stressed.
Breakfast is over and Catalina announces that Blanca and Imelda have nothing else to do there. Funny, but Imelda and Blanca were thinking the same thing about her. Blanca wants to know how many days she is staying..Catalina doesn't give them an answer so they wonder if she is deaf or blind or maybe it is her age . . . Blanca says nobody is gojng to stop her from taking care of her son. Is that clear? Catalina says it is clear but may not be possible . . . Catalina leaves the dining room and Imelda expresses a concern to Blanca: if this is how Catalina is, how is Julieta going to be: just like her?? Catalina returns surprised to see them still there. Catalina wants to be alone to straighten up the house. They must have things to do in their own homes. At that point, Catalina Directs themout into the hall and closes the door. Out in the hall, Imelda is angry that she threw them both out. She cannot do that to the owners of the building. Blanca starts ringing the doorbell. Catalina braces herself against the door. She thinks Blanca should call herself "doña bell". She hopes they are enjoying ruining the bell because she is going to put an end to it right now. Catalina gets a knife and cuts the electrical cord leading to the doorbell. She receives a shock and falls to the floor unconscious. Robert hears something is going on and sees Catalina on the floor. He calls an ambulance. Imelda and Blanca hear the explosion and go to their apartment lest they be blamed for whatever happened to Catalina. They are only worried that Jukieta will hate them.
Robert talks to Catalina who is now conscious ready to be transported to the hospital. He asks why she would ever think about cutting that wire. Catalina starts to say it wasn't her fault . . . but right then the EMT's start transporting her to the ambulance. Blanca and Imelda are watching through the peep hole in their door. Imelda says that they can't be blamed because they didn't cause any explosion. Eugenio comes out and asks them what in the earth is going on. They tell him and he calls it as he sees it: they are just busybodies.
As they wheel her out, Catalina states that if she dies she wants Robert to take care of her three children and forgive her children their debts to him. Robert is not Impressed. As they put Catalina in the ambulance, Robert approaches Blanca and Imelda to see if they know what happened. Why would they know? The ambulance leaves. Eugenio is sure they know what happened but aren't talking.
Audifaz, Polita and Aristóteles are at school waiting for their meeting. Audifaz sees what a flirt his son is. Lolita says he is just like a dad. The levity doesn't last for long when Audifaz finds out about the "Cultural Olymics" Audifaz wants his son to win. Aristóteles gets upset because Audifaz still does not get it. Aristóteles is not good at stuff like that. Both father and son get angry and it is just more of the same old same old with Audifaz just thinking about himself.
At the restaurant, Gabriel is telling Daniela what needs to be done. Change the lights, arrange the tables and menus, and especially fix all if the dining room chairs. He has a power tool for her. She (dressed in a nice an modest uniform which includes a black skirt w/tights and a white embroidered blouse) complains about the amount of work but says she will try. Sorry, trying is not good enough for Gabriel. If she fails to complete the tasks, she will get her first warning. And when she reaches three she will be fired. It looks like she is successful. because Gabriel looks pleased.
Julieta pays Hugo and Bruno a visit. Bruno runs to hide. Hugo is vacuuming but not working outside the home. She tells Hugo there will be no more money coming into that household.from her. Bruno is on the phone with Cornelio saying that a Linda is starting to pay for her dirty tricks. Bruno bought loads of clothes., Jukieta tracks him down and tells him how he didn't tell the truth and knew all of the money she gave him. On her way out, she faints.,
Hugo puts Julieta on a bed in her mother's house. When she comes to Diana is there. She insists she is fine and tells Diana she is pregnant. She asks her no to tell anyone because she is just getting used to the idea herself. Diana always wanted a baby. That is the problem. Julieta never wanted one. Robert doesn't know. She wants her mother ot be the last to know. Julieta explains her fear of being a mother. How could Diana ever want a child with her brother? Diana answers with that they say love and the maternal instinct are unconditional. Hugo blames Julieta getting ill on Bruno getting her angry.
At the hospital, Catalina is dressed and looking fine. Robert tells her that she had no burns or internal damage from the electrical shock. She blames Imelda and Blanca because they are addicted to ringing the doorbell. Catalina gets a call from Hugo telling her that Juliets got sick. Robert overhears and insists on talking to Julieta. She just was angry and nauseous she tells him. Robert informs her that Catalina had an accident but he didn't call her because it was nothing serious. Catalina doesn't like hearing that. Robert wants to know if he should come for her or if Hugo can bring her. He wants her to have some tests run. . .

I loved the snarky sniping of Blanca, Imelda and Catalina. Their insults were the best and made me laugh.
It was no surprise that Linda didn't think of offering to pay something to her parents. I laughed at her aspiration of wanting to be a "kept woman".
Maybe Daniela will find her niche in her new job.
I smiled through last night's episode and did even more so this morning. Exceptional Jarifa. I've used many of your excellent lines in my comment.
This was mayhem pure and simple! And as hard as it was to watch the bickering and posturing, it is clear that there is deep love for Robert and Julieta. As heinous as Cat is, I do believe that deep down she does love her daughter even though every word and deed of hers seems to indicate the opposite.
“Blanca explains that she will never deny her or Frida food or a roof over their heads but Marisol needs to take control of her life”. Hmmm. These forward thinking words seem so strange emanating from the woman who actually encouraged her daughter to stay with her husband despite his lying, cheating ways. Conversely, why is it that “Linda doesn't give them anything and they haven't asked her yet”. Huh? Linda is a spoiled, mean spirited princess.
Imelda’s “Mother in laws are unbearable and extremely difficult” had me snickering; “They are only worried that Jukieta will hate them” did not.
Still there are many sides to the story: “Catalina cannot believe that now Blanca is forcing Julieta to call her mamá and to be the best of friends”. Actually, she is spot on there. Despite Catalina’s many faults she sees the forced closeness being imposed on and demanded of her daughter. What a shame she doesn’t realize that she is guilty of the same.
Loved seeing Dani fixing all with relative ease. She is so talented! I had to smile at the men just standing around, Gabi with an amused yet impressed smile. I love this couple. Linda and Bruno? Not at all.
Jarifa, yes, Julieta needs to tell Robert. I wonder if all this stress is adding to Julieta not feeling well? I don't like the fact Imelda and Blanca know but Robert does not.
Julieta continues to treat everyone kindly. She needs a break from the watchful smothering. She and Robert are not finding the time and privacy to connect which is what they need to do during this time. They need to put the Cat out, bar the door and canoodle and cuddle. Robert isn't smiling too much now and that has me concerned.
This was wonderful - thank you Jarifa!
Diana
My favorite scene was Eugenio walking up to Las Metiches, while they were spying thru the peephole, and scaring them half to death. I truly was LOL because that was just so very real. And funny.
The Guerra dialog was well written and just classic.
It was kind of funny to watch Gabriel and the other guy just standing there, eating and drinking wine and watch Dani work like a beaver, doing all the carpentry, plumbing, and electrical repairs.
Telling Diana she is preggers may have been a mistake. Eh, whatever. We all know the secret will be out soon anyway.
Methinks Amelia has no filters. Really, is there something wrong with her? We all have at least one relative like her, usually an aunt.. (one of my sisters...ack)
Catalina needs to get a job. She has nothing better to do all day than stir up trouble with her kids. And she needs the money. She is a real piece of work. Too bad that electrical shock did not affect her ability to talk! Valganos Dios! 🙄🙄🙄 Granny Clampett would put her to work, scrubbing something, immediately.
Surfing around, I discovered that the actress who is Julieta is the sister of the actress who was the tacky crazy train wreck Stella in Silvana Sin Lana. OMG! I can so see the resemblance. I like her even more now! LOL
Yes, Diana, Julieta and Robert sure need time to "canoodling and cuddle" as you put it so well. I wonder how long we will have to wait until Julieta finally tells Robert.
doris, a job could do wonders for Catalina mainly giving her the money she evidently needs. I am so glad Julieta is not giving in on supporting them.
Las M: Juan Pablo
CatDQ: Robert
Las M: Juan Pablo
CatDQ: Juaby/Juobby (??? I went back, turned the CCs on, and it said "Juampi"?)
Did anyone have a better take on that?
The Consuegra battle was indeed hilarious and So expected! These women really need to take a good look at themselves before criticizing each other.
Even though CatDQ defended Julieta and made some clearly justifiable criticisms, IMO her motivation is self serving. She doesn't want anyone taking her "mother" place, yet she is a horrible mother...I still can't get over her telling Julieta should would be a terrible mother.
I do hope Robert makes Julieta go to a doctor soon. So much nausea and wooziness...on top of all the stress she's going through has me worried.
Doris, I think CatDQ meant "Juan P" but it did sound like Juampi.
Dani should start her own business doing repairs. Those guys were utterly clueless, and extremely impressed. Gabi in his pink shirt with pink blazer was fantastic. And when does a waitress fix repair issues? I do think Gabi is taking advantage. Dani is a hard worker. I hope he now understands what he has in her and treats her better--with no more threats of warnings.
OMG those three women fighting was too much. Julieta needs to run away and give Robert clues how to find her.
Did Linda give Bruno money to buy all of those clothes he told Colin about? Did I miss a part? I did not like when after Juli fainted Bruno asked if they would inherit if she died? He and Linda need a really big comeuppance.
Hugo may not be working outside the home but he at least has been working within it. We saw him doing the dishes before and this time washing the floors.
Good point Carvivlie. I can't honestly say I'm interested in Hugo and Diana. Perhaps if we are given a bit more storyline other than lazy loafer/breadwinner wife, that might change.
I like nothing about Bruno. Linda is supportive of her sisters. Not much - but something. These 2 together? Don't know and don't want to know.
Diana
I think Juli's side will start to come more into play once they are introduced to Robert's side. I mean they are all so intertwined now in some way. At least Diana is a bit of a support system for Juli.
I cannot wait until Linda finds out Bruno is Juli's brother! Oh my. The little snot will be backpedaling with amazing speed (I imagine).
I think Hugo might change. He need only spend a few quality hours with Robert. It already worked for Xavi, didn't it? :)
Diana
I wonder how far Bruno will go with Linda for payback on behalf of Cornelio. Linda is so gullible thinking they are going "steady" when they barely see/know each other. If they end up together at least nobody but themselves will be hurt by them.
Maybe the job at the restaurant is exactly what Daniela needs with Gabriel being patient enough to allow her to get her used to the "social norms/ conventions" of the real world.
How will Julieta finesse her way out of getting medical tests before she has a chance to tell Robert about the baby? Guess I have to watch tonight to find out . . .
I agree, Jarifa, with Daniela's new job situation, I was sure she was being set up for failure if she was expected to be a server from the first day. She is learning many facets of the workplace and thereby earning respect from her coworkers. I hope her confidence grows. I really like her character. I don't totally trust her heart in Gabriel's well manicured hands. But so far he hasn't done "her wrong".
I can't stand Julieta's mother and I am looking forward to the Bruno/Linda splash of reality!
thanks again.
