MMTF Episode 32, 10/9/2017 Let’s Walk Together Part 1

RobPablo is in Julieta’s office and tells her they need to calm down; he just thinks she’s acting a bit strange. Julieta questions if anything will change…his family will let them breathe?…her mother will leave?. When RobPablo seems frustrated and tells Juls he’ll leave her alone, she chides him for leaving her so he can go tend to his patients rather than stay with her, but RobPablo doesn’t recognize the Julieta he is talking to; and it seems she’s having a tantrum. He starts to leave…but stops dead in his tracks when Julieta blurts out, “I’m pregnant!”

At Gabriel’s restaurant, Otto asks Gabriel if he has noticed how Dani works…she’s is a good worker and has a different vibe. He and the other waiters (who are all guys) would like to give Dani a dinner party to welcome her. When Otto emphasizes that they all like her, Gabriel questions (ad is bothered) that they ALL like her. Otto continues that they are willing to prepare the food and even bring the wine...if Gabriel sells them the cheaper one. Gabriel, who seems jealous, finally agrees but he will bring the wine and attend…she is, after all, a good waitress. When Otto leaves, Gabriel stares at Dani.

At the office, Juls apologizes to Robert and assure him she was taking care of herself. After she tells him she knows he doesn’t want children and never imagined this would happen, he hugs her tightly. Juls cries that nothing is as they planned, but Rob knows that there are several examples of things in life that don’t turn out as planned. RobPablo wonders why she didn’t tell him sooner; she didn’t have to go through this alone. He assures her that, no matter what happens, the important thing is that they are together. He kids her about the names, but she is still very scared so he gives her a reassuring hug. He reminds her he is with her and they will talk about it later and take it a step at a time…they have several months to prepare themselves. He kisses her.

In front of Delizzie Restaurant, Begonia spots Marisol and confronts her, but Mari only wants to talk to Icknacio. When Begonia tells her she has no dignity, Mari throws it right back at her since she broke up a family and ended up paying to have a man at her side. After Begonia threatens to call the police, Mari is all for it…they can arrest him for not providing support for his daughter. Mari insists on talking to Icknacio.
Amalia is at Linda’s office getting the plan for her weight loss; she wants to be super skinny like her; and she wants the doctor to operate right NOW! When Linda explains that it takes time since it will require several tests and three weeks after the surgery for recuperation, Amalia insists it be done today or she will report them for false advertisement.

At Begonia’s restaurant, Mari talks to Icknacio who bluntly tells her he doesn’t want to see her. Mari explains that she is only there because he hasn’t deposited Frida’s money. When Ick suggests she could have sent a message, Mari knows he would have found some lame excuse to say he had not gotten any messages. After he tells her he will deposit the money the next day, Mari demands he give it to her NOW or she will announce to everyone there that he is a kept man. Begonia comes over and orders them to her office where she hands Mari the money, but Mari refuses to look at her and tells her it’s Ick’s responsibility; so he has to give it to her. Begonia sneers that the money he has given her has always been her money…the house she lived in, and anything else he will give her. She adds that from that day forward, when Mari wants money for her daughter, she should ask her for it. Begonia also suggests that when Frida eats, Mari should ask Frida to pray for her because, thanks to her, she and her daughter are eating. Humiliated, Mari turns to leave and can only cry.

MMTF Episode 32, 10/9/2017 Let’s Walk Together Part 2

At the office, RobPablo sits hugging Juls. He knows they are not prepared but that’s the way it is. Many things have changed since they decided to live together…some not planned, but not everything will be that way. He asks Julieta what she thinks: should they worry about everyone else or should they do their best to make sure the baby has all the love it needs. Juls thanks him because she has been in a panic and doesn’t want anything to separate them. They were planning a wedding and now here comes a baby. When she thinks about still needing to organize the wedding and everything else, she needs to go to a special place to clear her mind and asks RobPablo to accompany her. RobPablo assures her…wherever, however, and whenever she wants.

As Mari walks, she sits on a bench and tears up the money. She calls Icknacio and tells him she wants nothing to do with him or his lover’s money…from now on it’ll only be Frida and her.

Later, Mari tells Blanca where Ickky’s money comes from as Blanca massages her shoulders. Blanca can’t believe it and thinks he is lying to both her and his lover, but Mari clarifies that they both knew exactly what they were doing. When Blanca apologizes for not being understanding what she was feeling, Mari states she will no longer permit it or lower herself again. She won’t accept one more cent, but Blanca thinks he should be held responsible, Mari, however, disagrees; she can’t stand the thought of Frida being supported by Ickky’s lover. Blanca understands, but insists Mari shouldn’t be alone. Mari thinks she needs to do and think for only Frida and asks for more time to pay the rent, so Blanca explains that she only did it so that she would pressure Ickky for support. Mari then asks for Blanca’s help to close that chapter of her life and Blanca, stroking her face gently, nods and assures her she will. Just then Ana comes in and asks if all is well; Blanca responds, “more or less.”

Sometime later, Frida sits with Mari on couch and shows her the picture her friend sent her. When Mari confirms it is Xavi and tells Frida he is famous, Frida doesn’t agree because there weren’t that many people. Frida runs and knocks on Xavi’s door and yells that her mother already saw the picture. Xavi comes out and tells her not to bother him anymore. Just then Mari arrives and tells him not to mind Frida and orders her to go do her homework. Mari apologizes, but Xavi admits Frida is only saying the truth. Mari can’t believe he would be playing at the Center without fans or spectators.

Blanca is in her bedroom packing her bag for dance class as she talks to Ana. She wishes that things would work out for Marisol and her husband…she didn’t listen when they told her not to marry Ickky. She then talks about Amalia and Belén and complains that she sometimes thinks they’re doing everything wrong. Now CatDQ is in RobPablo’s house and wonders if she wants to distance her son from her. If so, CatDQ has run into a wall. She takes her bag and starts for the door.

Up on the roof, Mari tells Xavi she can confide in her. She is not going to judge him…it seems he is going through a bad time. He lies again and tells her the performance was only part of the new character; they were just practicing. Outside the Center there was a crowd waiting for him. Mari believes him because she knows he had to have good reason to be dancing in that ridiculous outfit and singing without an audience. Xavi then notices her sad demeanor and thinks she is the one who has something to confide.

MMTF Episode 32, 10/9/2017 Part 3

In front of Juls’s apartment, Blanca knocks incessantly on Julieta’s door accompanied by Ana. When CatDQ finally opens the door, Blanca tells her she was very worried since she is alone in a house that is not hers. Blanca just wanted CatDQ to know that she is there for whatever she needs. CatDQ chides her for making her get up out of bed and is aware that Blanca is there. Blanca introduces Ana but after CatDQ greets her she quickly says goodbye and closes the door. As Blanca laughs hysterically, Ana tells her she never seen her do anything like that. Blanca isn’t finished yet so she knocks again because she didn’t think it was enough. When CatDQ opens the door, Blanca tells her she forgot to tell them if she need anything, Dona CATA. CatDQ points out that she doesn’t like being called CATA…and Blanca would be the last person she would ask for help. Blanca continues to badger her and reminds CATA she is there for whatever comes up. After CATA closes the door, Blanca continues to laugh.

Up on the roof, Mari confides in Xavi about what she is going through with Icknacio. Xavi thinks the hardest thing in life is to accept things have terminated especially important things. When Mari asks if he misses someone, he ponders that he misses the person he was when he was happy. Mari reminds him that he is still the famous Xavi Galan, so he reminds her she is still the same woman from before her marriage. She is fighting for her child and a successful life. He advises her that if things took her where she didn’t want to go then she should change her path to one that will take her where she wants to be.

On the mountain at Hierve El Agua, RobPablo tells Juls that when people decide to take a road with someone you walk with them.... but Juls thinks there are many curves in the road. RobPablo agrees but assures her they will travel together. He recalls that they were at that place when he ask her to marry him and Juls finishes that they are now there trying to assimilate the idea of having a child. RobPablo assures Juls that although he has his family now, they will always live for each other. Love is a decision…one decides to love another; so above all, she is first in his life, his one and only…as the years pass, he wants her to be at his side always. Juls fears that his family won’t accept her…and that their love for this child will be so great that it will change the love they have for each other. She recalls the day of the accident when he said she was the only real thing in his life…and it is the same with her, he is the only real thing in her life and doesn’t want to lose him. After they promise each other to defend what they have against everything, they kiss.

At the dance/exercise class, Blanca, Belen watch as Amalia dances around everyone chasing Enzo. Blanca chides her for always wanting to be the center of attention. Amalia flirts with the instructor who she has trapped against the wall but he manages to slither down and escape.

Juls doesn’t know what’s going to happen with her mom, but wants distance between them. It hurts her to say it but her mother just wants to use them; she wants to stay only to gain control of her; if she were there for love, Juls would feel differently. She thinks they need time together as a couple; and they need to set limits for everyone else. Juls points out to RobPablo that they are two…well, now three. If they permit others to tell them what to do, they will go crazy. When Juls suggests that they need to defend what they have, RobPablo agrees and promises to do so. Juls also promises but adds that she needs his support with her family too. When she asks that he keep the pregnancy a secret… she wants to cherish the pregnancy with only him…for at least a few weeks, he agrees.

MMTF Episode 32, 10/9/2017 Part 4

Belén thinks Blanca and Amalia are alike, but Blanca disagrees; though Belén insists they are alike because they both want things to happen right away…like Juan Pablo loving her. Blanca only wants him to think of her as his mother and remember how much she loved him. She feels she has time against her and lives for the day that her son tells her he loves her.

In front of the Córsega building, Juls and RobPablo come walking along and see Ana. After RobPablo asks for his uncle, Ana simply responds that he is traveling less. Juls goes into the building but RobPablo stays back and looks intently at Ana who wonders why he keeps looking at her. RobPablo explains that there is something that is bothering him and asks what‘s going on with her and the man that tried to cheat his grandmother. He saw him with her. Ana denies there is anything between her and Julián; he approached her because he owes a lot of money and was just looking for a job.

Juls enters her apartment calling out for her mother when she is surprised by Blanca who comes behind her. Blanca is worried because she thinks Juls’s mom is difficult; she doesn’t understand how some children don’t grow up traumatized with parents like that. When Juls wonders what she is doing there, Blanca invites them to dinner, but Juls is not hungry at all, though Blanca prepared something delicious. When CatDQ comes out, Blanca is glad to see her looking better. CatDQ doesn’t believe her good wishes and points out that she came to take care of her daughter, so Blanca need not worry. After Juls interrupts and tells Blanca she needs to talk to her mother, Blanca leaves but remains by the door listening as CatDQ wonders if Juls couldn’t find a better mother-in-law…this one will end with her and Robert and everything! Juls is tired of talking about the same thing and knows CatDQ isn’t really there to help; she is only there to regain the control she had over her. Juls reproaches that CatDQ has lowered her self-esteem and made her feel guilty, but she won’t allow it anymore.

Outside Robert explains why he is worried, but Ana continues with her lie as to why she told Julián to get in her vehicle…he is just a poor man with a bad past and without a future. When Ana sneers that not everyone had his fortune, RobPablo wonders if Julián is blackmailing her in some way, but Ana denies it and adds that if Blanca were to see her with him she would tell her Julián is not a bad man; he is just a man who made an error. RobPablo still doesn’t understand how she could help a man that tries to cheat others. He doesn’t trust that man, so if she needs help, she can count on him. Ana gets in her vehicle and orders driver to take her to Julián, but he reminds her that her husband keeps asking him what she does when Imelda doesn’t go out.

At the Córsega kitchen, Blanca tells Imelda there are things she can’t let go of; she worries that Juls will get tired of everything and want to move…and take RobPablo far away. Blanca realizes that Juls has never talked about her father and wonders if CatDQ is divorced or abandoned. Imelda, however, just hopes Juls doesn’t take after her witch of a mother.

Rob enters his apartment and CatDQ offers to make hotdogs. She suggests he take a bath so the three of them can have dinner together. After RobPablo walks away, CatDQ laughs thinking that Blanca will be stood up for dinner.

MMTF Episode 32, 10/9/2017 Part 5

At the restaurant, Gabriel and an order clerk/accountant (?) discuss orders that need to be made. When Gabriel complains, the man wonders if Gabriel is going to ruin the restaurant and reminds him he is the boss and needs to make decisions. Gabriel wonders just how important buying onions is since he didn’t study to buy onions. Dani interrupts, but when she sees Gabriel is upset, she decides to come back later, but Gabriel stops her. Frustrated, Gabriel wonders if the man has someone waiting for him, so he tells him to leave. After the man suggests Gabriel learn the restaurant business, Dani hands Gabriel a plate of food because she noticed he didn’t eat…since he told her to be observant or she would be let go. Gabriel, however, wants her to sit with him and entertain him…and give him an explanation as to why his father put him in this miserable place, he knows nothing about it and hates being there. Dani looks uncomfortable and worried.

At night, Ana is with Julián and tells him about RobPablo’s questions, but he doesn’t think she should care what RobPablo says. When she brings up she is a married woman, Julián knows she is unhappy in her marriage and doesn’t understand why she would live a miserable life just because she is afraid to let go of what makes her miserable. He wonders if she has imagined what it would be like to love someone…or to have someone love her. Vexed, Ana justifies that she is only there to tell him that she will only give him money if she stays away from him. She doesn’t want anything else to do with him. Ana is very upset and tells he is driving her crazy and asks what he wants from her. He replies that he just wants to see her and know that she exists. He then wonders why she comes to see him…is she afraid that he will reveal her secret or that her image will be tarnished. As her grabs her wrists, she again screams to let her go… he is driving her crazy, but he tells her he knows he can be important to her. As he strokes her hair, he asks her not to abandon him too. But she says “no” and runs away.

Tulio calls Ana’s driver demanding to know where Ana is; so the driver lies and tells Tulio they went shopping at the Plaza. Tulio wants to throw the phone, but resists. Meanwhile, Ana enters the SUV upset and tells him to take her home. The driver then advises her he had to lie to her husband and told him they went to the plaza.

RgvChick, many superlatives are vying to be used here. Simply wonderful.

"Mari then asks for Blanca’s help to close that chapter of her life and Blanca, stroking her face gently, nods and assures her she will" was as vivid as the scene itself.

Julieta and Robert's heartfelt discussion in that incredible setting is etched in my mind. Robert gently and calmly dissuading Julieta's fears was beyond touching. He listened, he agreed as Julieta came to the conclusion it would be the three of them bound together in love as a family.

There was also much pain last night. "When Begonia tells her she has no dignity, Mari throws it right back at her since she broke up a family and ended up paying to have a man at her side" was a very minor victory, wasn't it? Marisol trying to be strong yet suffering such an embarrassing indignity was heartbreaking. Begonia has already "won" (as if Ick is any sort of prize!) - why did she have to rub salt so deeply into Marisol's pride and heart? I was glad relieved to see Blanca's genuine concern and love for her daughter. Marisol is now determined to strike out and handle life on her own. I know she will succeed.

I enjoyed Dani's quiet concern for Gabi. Will she be able to infuse a little bit of motivation into Gabi? I want him to stop stewing and throw himself into his job. The silver spoon's been removed for now, so deal with it.

A few things on my wish list: A better storyline for Belén (a fantastic actress who deserves center stage) and Amalia; a truce between the feuding MIL's.

I don't know what the writers expect from us regarding Julian and Ana's "relationship". First, are we really supposed to care? If so, why on earth would we? Call me heartless but a blackmailer and child abductor "finding" each other is cringeworthy.

I love every minute of Robert and Julieta. More Eugenio please!!

RgvChick, thank you for recoding all the events in such splendid style.

Diana

RgvChick, thanks for yet another great recap! I needed it because I thought I could watch football and this at the same time. Sure . . . : )

Anyway, Xavi is annoying me. He needs to tell the truth already and as I mentioned last time(?)get a job. I did laugh at him screaming with the pillow over his head as Frida was knocking on his door.

I loved the scene with Blanca on a mission to annoy "doña Cata" . Her laughing after each incident made me laugh and sure showed a mischievous side to Blanca.

How nice that all of the waiters like Daniela and want to plan a welcome dinner party for her.

Diana, ITA about the cringeworthy aspect of Ana and Julian's "association" or whatever it is. Now her driver is lying for her. This cannot have a good ending.

On to tonight!

My East Coast Uni programming is showing this broadcasting for 2 hours (9-11 pm) Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

The new Gabe Soto TN premieres at 10 on Monday.

Diana

Diana, thanks for the programming update.

Thanks RgvChick! Awesome recap.

I hated the whole Marisol, Ignacio and Begonia scene. I wanted to strangle him. Frida deserves a better father. If he really does care then he could at least show it. I wanted Marisol to rip up the money and throw it in their faces. I know she ripped up the money still but I needed them to see it. She didn't deserve to be humiliated that way! I'm hoping we get a good storyline with Marisol becoming a strong independent character. And hopefully help Xavi along. He's great at advice but he needs to stop lying to and swallow his pride.

I knew Robert was going to react the way that he did. It was very touching. I loved that they went to "their place" it may seem a little cheesy but it works for them. It's the place where they can go up together, forget everything else in the world and just focus on each other.

Diana, I'm with you. I feel like everyone has a storyline except Belen. She deserves more. I would like to see more scenes of her and her own story rather than just being there by Amalia's side.

Jarifa, Blanca's mission to annoy Catalina was probably my favorite moments of that episode. She was enjoying it so much I'm smiling again just thinking about it.

I understand Gabriel's frustration but he's being so dramatic. Yes this isn't what he studied this is not what he wants to be doing but it's a job. Dani told him before 1. A job is a job 2. You can't keep living in the past and you have to move on. Dani looks confused but I hope she reiterates those points to him again. He's got potential. He can succeed if he would stop hating the job so much and actually do the work in order for it to be the best restaurant in all of Mexico like he said before. Can I also just say that I love Dani brought him food. That was so sweet. "It's her job" Sure. She was concerned for him.

Still don't understand the Julian and Ana thing. Why are the writers dragging this? Can we just call it quits and get it off my screen so we can dedicate the time to the other characters who deserve screen time.

Happy and excited for the 2 hours we get this week starting tomorrow!

-Jackie

You're kindly welcome, Diana, Jarifa and Jackie...and thank you for echoing my thoughts and describing them so eloquently.

Diana, the heartfelt discussions between Robert and Juliana are truly amazing, but there are so many "heartfelt" discussions in this TN ..those with Eugenio/Robert...Blanca/Robert...the writer's really have done an outstanding job with this TN!!

Jarifa, that scene with Blanca and CATA was hilarious...they even got Ana to crack a smile.

The Mari/Begone/Ick scene was horrendous...I just wish Mari had thought to tear up the money right in front of Begone and throw it in her face, though I cheered her on when she threw back Begone's words and urged urged to go ahead and call the police.

I also agree about Belen..they really haven't given any of her backstory. Is her whole life really only about her store and Amalia? I hope not!

The whole Ana/Julian/Tulio story is so pathetic and revolting. Jackie, I wish they'd just quit it too.

I appreciate these recaps sooo much. I'm sometimes in competition with dearhubby for tv time--it's sports season. Enjoying this TN when I can watch it. The recaps and comments help me keep up with the action.

Good to see you, La Paloma!

"Why are the writers dragging this? Can we just call it quits and get it off my screen so we can dedicate the time to the other characters who deserve screen time".

That's it exactly Jackie. Well said and thank you.

RgvChick, I totally agree with your "heartfelt" list of conversations! Also, after last night, I think we might also be able to add Blanca and Marisol, no? I was so happy to see that.

I'm still trying to "get past" Diana Bracho's previous roles. She is amazing here. And Daniel Arenas is superb. Everyone is so well cast! And I don't want to forget Zuria Vega who has a difficult job of being nice but definitely guarded and aloof. Not an easy role. She and Daniel are totally believable as friends. And lovers. Kudos.

Diana

Diana

RgvChick - Thank you for the recap!

The Blanca/Cata scenes are such a hoot. I think both actors are having fun doing them, too.

~sigh~ Roberto's reaction to Juli's pregnancy was so wonderful. I loved the scene at mountaintop, too.

"Why are the writers dragging this? Can we just call it quits and get it off my screen so we can dedicate the time to the other characters who deserve screen time". "
ITA!!! Ana and Julian = FFWD--->

Xavi needs to get over his ego and get a job.

Thanks, Rgv Chick!

So glad Julieta told Robert. Didn't want him to be the last to know.

Cat is so annoying, but strangely in the battles between her and Blanca I root for her instead of Blanca. Somebody's got to get Blanca to butt out and Cat seems like the only one that's cold enough to get it done.

Gabriel continues to delight. Inviting himself to the employees' party - ha!

I'm on the fence whether Julian is working a "I could've been your son" or a "I could be your lover" angle to tap into Ana's neuroses for money. He is one sick puppy.

Ay, Marisol tearing up the cash alone -- AFTER the humiliation in front of Ig and his woman. Pitiful. Glad at least Blanca understands now.

You're welcome Doris and Niecie...another recap follows...

Ana wants to go home but her assistant tells her he had to lie to her husband that they went to the Plaza.

At Gabriel’s restaurant, Dani thinks she should get back to work but Gabriel tells her he didn’t tell her she could leave. She suggests he try to do the job well; she accepted the job because she needs it and is willing to do it the way it should be done. Frustrated, she tells him she doesn’t know what his problem is since there are so many would want a father who would give them a job that pays so much. She suggests that if he doesn’t know how to run a restaurant, then he should learn...he can begin by learning the menu. As a result of her outburst, Gabriel gives her the first warning for disrespecting him, but when she points out she was only telling the truth, he reminds her she has two . After he tells her he will attend her welcome dinner only because she is poisoning the employees’ minds, they stare at each other. He then gives her back his plate, so Dani frowns and walks away hurt.
At Julieta’s, Juls chides her mother for making dinner knowing very well that Blanca invited to dinner, but CatDQ doesn’t want her eating their food; and a fortune teller warned her that Juls would encounter two dragons that would consume her with their fire. When Juls asks if the fortune teller also predicted when CatDQ would be returning to her home, CatDQ has no idea.

At the Córsega’s, Blanca is cooking and tells Mari that she wants the table looking nice for RobPablo. When she asks for Frida, Mari tells her she is up on the roof because she wants piano lesson. After Mari mentions Xavi is a good person, Imelda reminds her she is married, but Mari corrects her and says she is divorced. Mari knows they live using the older customs and acknowledges that she grew up learning most of their ideas, but times change. Women no longer have to put up with being mistreated and unloved. She remained silent for them, but couldn’t put up with it any longer. Audifaz and Polita arrive (without Tupperware!) just in time for dinner, but they emphasize they had no idea a special dinner was being prepared (yeah right!).

Up on the roof, Frida asks Xavi why he danced so badly at the Center. When he brags that he can dance very well, she dares him to prove it, so he dances for a while (I suppose the close ups of his feet would indicate fancy dance steps) until Mari arrives and claps.

At Ana’s house of misery, Tulio sternly questions Ana about she what does all day when she’s not home. Ana angrily replies that Imelda doesn’t want to go out and asks what she is supposed to do. Tulio reminds her that now he is there and demands to know where does she goes. Ana avoids the questions and says she is there with nothing to do, so what other option does she have. Tulio holds her shoulders and reminds her of the trip he suggested, but she pulls away and hasn’t thought about it since she finds no reason for his suggestion. When Tulio thinks any wife would be happy to have their husband home, Ana rebukes that he was gone for many years and when he would return, many times he wouldn’t even talk to her. It has been a long time since she has been his wife. She feels she is just a piece of furniture…it has been years since he has held her hand. Tulio steps forward and grabs her in a hug, but Ana tries to push him away and cries to let her go. He finally releases her and she runs off crying.

At the Córsega’s, everyone sits at the table as Blanca serves and wonders why CatDQ didn’t go. Juls replies that her mom wasn’t feeling very well. Meanwhile, CatDQ complains that she was stood up, but doesn’t hesitate to take a big bite of the fully loaded hotdog. Blanca feels badly and wants to take CatDQ a plate of food because it’s just not right that they eat while she is all alone. Eugenio thinks CatDQ should come over so she can get to know them, but Blanca insists on taking her a plate of food. As she leaves, Juls notices RobPablo doesn’t look well…and he isn’t well; he feels nauseated.

Blanca knocks as CatDQ complains about all the interruptions. When she answers the door, Blanca thinks she must have been resisting her hunger, so she brought her some food. Annoyed, CatDQ asks why Blanca doesn’t understand that she is not welcome there. She doesn’t need her food or for Blanca to bother her. They tell each other they don’t believe each; and Blanca accuses CatDQ creating more problems by coming to live there. After CatDQ threatens Blanca not to provoke her, they stare each other down.

At a restaurant, Linda and Bruno have dinner as she tells him a woman can be easily won over with kind gestures… and they don’t like to be toyed with. She offers to pay for the dinner as a young man passes by and pause. He recognizes her as the girl that deceives men and gets them to spend all their money on her.

Back at the monster-in-law fight, Blanca and CatDQ continue clawing at each other. Blanca has spent too much time looking for her son and won’t permit CatDQ to separate him from her, but CatDQ thinks Robablo is more than sorry to have found his family. CatDQ finally asks Blanca to leave and not come back. Blanca refuses and adds that this is her mother-in-law’s building and warns that no one will separate her from Juan Pablo though CatDQ insists his name is Robert Cooper…who was raised in the United States by such lovely parents. CatDQ yowls that Blanca is being ridiculous to try to win over a man who was raised with other parents for 34 years. After Blanca refuses to allow CatDQ to disrespect her and mock that which is sacred to her, CatDQ shoves Blanca who decides to leave because of the hurtful comment CatDQ made, though insists she take the plate of food. CatDQ again refuses it and as they struggle with the plate and it falls, RobPablo walks in and orders them to stop. CatDQ and Blanca put on their nice hats and pretend to be getting along; Blanca even offers to clean up and CatDQ prefers to do it. After Blanca tells RobPablo to go finish his dinner, he tells them they can’t continue fighting just to see who will win. Robert then asks Blanca to go to her house; so she will go only because he asks her to. Once she leaves, RobPablo turns to CatDQ and tells her it’s time they talk.

At the restaurant, Linda denounces the guy; he should stop saying lies and she doesn’t even know him, but he has the evidence… he shows her their picture and reminds her of the shoes he bought for her. When she got everything she wanted from him, she dropped him like a hot potato and she blocked him. When Bruno gets up to defend her, the guy punches him and he goes down. Linda helps him up…

At Juls’s apartment, CatDQ knew RobPablo would side with his own mother, but RobPablo explains that it’s not logical for her to be there; and Juls is not happy with her there. When she is surprised he would run her off; RobPablo truly hopes she doesn’t take it wrong, but she does have her own home. He suggests she think about how much she really loves Juls because it’s one thing to love another, but to need someone totally different. In the kitchen, Juls thinks her mother wanted to manipulate them so she will talk to her mother; though RobPablo won’t allow it. He doesn’t want her to be exposed to more anguish. When Juls suggests RobPablo go talk to his own mother because she was upset, he knows his mother was imprudent too.

On the roof, Xavi tells Frida she was successful in making him dance. When Frida reminds that he had promised to teach her how to play the piano, Xavi relents and tells her, if she really wants to learn, he will teach her. Mari, however, doesn’t have money to pay for the lessons, so Xavi will give the classes for free. Mari, although embarrassed, agrees.
Outside the restaurant, Bruno runs after Linda who wonders if he is disappointed in her, but he isn’t because when he met her he knew she wasn’t perfect. Linda, then, wonders if he will continue going out with her, so he replies, “Definitely,” but she will have compensate him better…with a kiss. Linda admits she is not perfect, but wants to change…for him…and they kiss.

As CatDQ leaves, Juls wants to help, but CatDQ doesn’t need help going out to the streets they threw her to. When Juls tells her no one humiliated, CatDQ argues that Robert did…but he is more important to Juls than her own blood. After Juls accuses he of exaggerating, CatDQ mocks her and says “yes,” she is a Queen of Exaggerating (yes, she is!! Thus Cat Drama Queen/CatDQ!) Juls wants to call a taxi but CatDQ refuses and threatens that Juls will think of her when the Córsega troop finds out about her pregnancy and won’t let her breathe; she will come asking for her help.

In Blanca’s bedroom, RobPablo listens as Blanca explains that she just wants to give him all the love she didn’t give him when he was gone. It hurts her that he is only seeing her shortcomings…she appears to be a gossip and has bad timing. Blanca feels at a disadvantage and doesn’t know how to show him how valuable he is to her. Blanca wants to recover the time lost and doesn’t want to die without his loving her. She is tired and tries her best effort to keep away from him. When Blanca admits that she can be intolerable, RobPablo sits beside her and tells her she isn’t, but adds that things won’t change from one instant to another. He assures her that everything she does is important to him; though Blanca just wants him to remember that she loves him unconditionally…she wants to do her best. RobPablo knows and doesn’t want to see her crying. As he holds her, he pleads with her to consider that, every day, they are closer. He kisses her forehead and holds her close against his heart as she cries.

At their apartment, RobPablo thinks his mother would have treated him as she did his sisters, but Juls doesn’t think so; both her mother and Blanca are machistas; Blanca has said it many times…he is their only son; and he own mother defends her brothers. RobPablo can’t imagine how much Blanca has suffered all the years he was gone. Juls also worries about her mother and her anguish grows that she will not be a good mother. She believes it is up to them to make sure the baby will be happy and reflects that all her life she has wondered if her mother loves her.

At the drama house, Diana questions CatDQ's opinion about requiring Juls to pay for maintaining her home when her sons are totally irresponsible. CatDQ actually considers the thought, but thinks she is afraid that her sons will not love her and that they will leave one day, leaving her all alone…just like her husband left her.

MMTF Ep. 33, 10/10/2017 Part 4

Next Day--

At the bakery, Eugenio scolds Blanca for being sleepy again; she was tossing and turning, so they may have to sleep in separate beds. Juan Pablo is back; so there is no reason to be suffering. When Blanca retorts that no one understands her, Eugenio questions what there is to understand. Blanca shares that the man that lives in front is a doctor and a success while they are just bakers. If he had grown up with them, he probably wouldn’t be what he is today; RobPablo may also think about that. Blanca then wonders if CatDQ may be right in saying he grew up with different family. Sometime she feels RobPablo loves them, but then other times, he is so cold.

At the gym, RobPablo completes several exercises as he reflects on Juls announcing that she’s pregnant; he repeats to himself that he is going to be a father. In the sauna, he sees Eugenio and confides that he has been to the market several times trying to remember what happened the day he got lost, but Eugenio suggests that he leave the past where it should be and not insist on remembering. RobPablo, however, wants to remember the woman who left him at the orphanage. When Eugenio considers that he was a lost child who was crying and a woman just wanted to help him, RobPablo argues that everyone at the market knew the family and wonders why no one returned him to his home. Eugenio insists they should concentrate on the present so they can get to know each other.

At Ana’s house, Ana gets a text from Julián as she has breakfast, “Have a marvelous day,” When Tulio walks in, he wonders if she is she calmer and suggests she organize a dinner for the entire family; he thinks it’s time to get close to them again. Ana wonders why he left them so abruptly and asks what happened to him all these years…as a man. When Tulio asks her to clarify, she asks if he met other women…did he have an affair. Meanwhile outside, Julian peaks from behind a wall as Ana’s driver cleans the car. Though he senses someone close by, when he turns around, he sees no one. As he turns back to continue his cleaning, Julián is still behind the wall. Inside, Tulio doesn’t want to talk about it, but Ana emphasizes it’s important to her. Tulio reminds her that he wants to start over; and when she doesn’t understand why, he points out that his proposition is clear…to get to know each other again. He admits he distanced himself from her, but she is the reason he did it. When she lost the last baby, she changed drastically. He wonders if she knows what happens to a man when a wife rejects him…he stops existing.

At her office, Juls tells Luz she feels better as Luz gives her a present…baby shoes. Juls holds them and thinks they are so cute. It’s the first time she feels touched with emotion…she has never felt this way. There have been so many times that she has felt guilty for not thinking about her baby and wonders if she will be a good mother. When Luz suggests she make peace with her own mother, Juls thinks it will not be easy, though she does have to rethink her life, especially now that the baby is coming. She decides Luz is right; she will try once more to make peace with her mother, after all one only has one mother.

At Belén’s store, Amalia sings as Belén scolds her for singing during working hours instead of tending to customers, but Amalia has to warm up her voice. Belén thinks she is selfish. After Amalia prohibits her from ordering her around she adds that Belén only criticizes her, she warns Belén that when she is famous she will leave and Belén will miss her.

At the restaurant, Otto leads a blindfolded Dani to her dinner. When they remove the blindfold, everyone claps for her and she is totally surprised and happy. When Otto explains that the celebration was supposed to be dinner, but the boss changed it, Dani thanks them and wonders why Gabriel changed it to lunch.

MMTF Ep. 33, 10/10/2017 Part 5

Otto explains that Gabriel didn’t want them finishing too late. Otto gives Dani a menu, since she is the honoree so she can select whatever she wants. She is the only female and they want her to feel a part of the family. Meanwhile, the clerk/accountant man chides Gabriel for having the lunch during restaurant hours; he wonders who will tend to the customers, but Gabriel tells him he approved it and doesn’t have to give him any explanations. After Gabriel tells the man to leave, he walks backwards because the previous bosses were aggressive and threw ashtrays at him.

At Cklass, Juls gives orders to Camila who tries to bump it off to Luz, but Juls call it to her attention since it is Camila’s job. When Luz asks if Juls feels well, Juls nods and walks away as she recalls her mother’s question, “What is your heart made of…if you even have one?”

At the dinner party, Dani enjoys her dinner as Gabriel arrives. They were about to make the first toast, but Gabriel needs to leave since there is work to do. Otto insists, but Dani tells Gabriel to go ahead and go do what he has to do; so oppositional (and jealous) Gabriel decides to stay and wonders what they will toast to. When Otto suggests that Dani brought joy to the restaurant, Gabriel prefers to toast to a new opportunity.

Juls remembers when her mother told her she would never find a man to love her…she has “bitterness” painted all over her. When Juls wonders why her mother talks to her like that, CatDQ emphasizes that it’s her duty to tell her the truth. Life is not easy; they live in a world of men. After Juls points out how hurtful her words are, CatDQ continues that when her father left, he was so sad and disillusioned because he was expecting another son but she was born. Ever since then, her father kept distancing himself from the family and of course from her (CatDQ). When Juls wonders if her mother is blaming her for her father leaving, CatDQ repeats that she is only saying the truth, but Juls wonders if CatDQ ever considered that she was the reason her father left. CatDQ does not relent and tells Juls her luck was predestined since she were born. The life of a woman is not easy; men use them and then abandon them. A woman never knows when she makes the mistake for which the man leaves her.

At her office, Juls writes a letter to her baby: Son or daughter. I want so much to talk to you and tll you what I feel now that you will arrive in my life. I know I have said many times that I was not prepared to be a mother, but it was my fear that would stop me.

At the infamous trashcan in front of the Córsega building, Blanca is throwing out trash as CatDQ approaches and wants to talk to her about something very important.

At the foundation, RobPablo tells Tavo he doesn’t know how to get close to his mother anymore. He just can’t tell her he loves her from one day to the next. Tavo tells him to recall his advice…he shouldn't try to rush it; love has to be built.

At the Córsega home, CatDQ justifies her actions to Blanca and Imelda. What she did was only because she wants her daughter back; she is a great woman, but has her faults. CatDQ is not resentful but Juls is…she is still upset because she and RobPablo lent her son some money; and he made a bad investment. When Blanca wonders if it was her son’s savings and if it was a lot of money, CatDQ clarifies that the savings belonged to both of them and it was quite a bit of money that her son invested in worms. After Blanca wonders how they could have lent out so much money for a business that was sure to fail, CatDQ confides that they didn’t know what the money was for. Imelda chimes in and accuses Hugo of cheating RobPablo, but CatDQ points out that if it hadn’t been for her son, they would have never found RobPablo. The money they lent to her son was going to be used to buy an apartment; and since they lost it, they had to rent this thing they live in. Blanca eyes almost pop out as she stands up and both she and Imelda glare at CatDQ.

You got it all, RgvChick! Excellent. I sure love the title. It is perfect. Thank you.

It was about time Catalina was sent packing. I found her talk with Julieta sobering to say the least. Julieta hit it on the head describing both Blanca and Catalina as machista. Unfortunately, they were raised that way in a different time.

Gabriel was a first class party pooper and a jerk giving Daniela "the first warning."

Interesting date for Bruno when the "guy" gives him an earful and Linda says she knows she isn't perfect but wants to change for Bruno. Will he continue his "revenge dating" or fall in love with her?

We could have found out all about the miscarriage and Tulio and Ana's failed marriage without creepy Juliánbut now since he is here, will we ever discover what he is really up to? The only talent he seems to have is skulking.

RgvChick, utterly fantastic. Skillfully created and fashioned with flair.

"Audifaz and Polita arrive (without Tupperware!) just in time for dinner and "Ana’s house of misery" were among many favorites.

"Gabriel gives her the first warning for disrespecting him". I didn’t enjoy Gabriel’s air of superiority and condensation. I love that Dani sees right through this airs and calls him to task for his behavior.

“Tulio steps forward and grabs her in a hug, but Ana tries to push him away and cries to let her go”. Ack.

I can’t decide what is more off-putting – Ana and Tulio or Ana and Julian?? It seems obvious Tulio ignored and treated Ana as non-existent in the not too distant past. ”He wonders if she knows what happens to a man when a wife rejects him…he stops existing”. Pleeze. He seems cold and cruel.

I think Julian might be mentally ill. Niecie, your “I'm on the fence whether Julian is working a "I could've been your son" or a "I could be your lover" angle to tap into Ana's neuroses for money. He is one sick puppy” was spot on. I have no idea where his story is going. Not much substance there, but much calculation. “The only talent he seems to have is skulking” nailed it Jarifa.

“CatDQ yowls that Blanca is being ridiculous to try to win over a man who was raised with other parents for 34 years” was beyond cruel. “…there is a God and he will compensate her” speaks to her unfettered ego. “Juls remembers when her mother told her she would never find a man to love her…she has “bitterness” painted all over her”. Pure poison. I sometimes wonder how Julieta turned out as well as she did. Also, cooking fine cuisine is obviously not a talent possessed by Cat. I have to say her hot dogs (and why so many) were one of the most unappetizing things I’ve seen in a while. What on earth did she put on hers? Blech.

“Blanca wants to recover the time lost and doesn’t want to die without his loving her”. Yet another powerful Blanca/Robert scene. While difficult to watch, it reminded me that Blanca endured what no mother should have had to – losing and not knowing the fate of a child. I think Blanca is somewhat controlling and critical of all her children. It is more exacerbated with Robert – “Sometime she feels RobPablo loves them, but then other times, he is so cold” really was quite an exaggeration.

Whew. Captivating from start to finish RgvChick. Thank you, thank you!

Diana

Diana, I like the mentally ill angle for Julián. That would make sense with his odd behavior.

Haven't read the recap yet--must go teach. But matching jammies! How adorable!

Jarifa, I think both he and Ana are mentally ill. I don't think (and hope) she would never have abducted Robert unless she were.

SpanProf, yes! Forgot about the matching pj's! The cars were so cute.

Diana

Thanks everyone!

I think we all have the same opinion about Tulio/Ana/Julian....maybe ALL of them are mentally...what a coincidence that Ana got manhandled by two different men within 24 hours.

Gabriel is being a jealous fool..the last thing Dani needs is all the criticisms and threats he's throwing at her...maybe she should keep looking for another job and scare the obnoxiousness out of him.

I really like how Robert handled the monster-in-laws....firm yet understanding...and how he keeps his cool is beyond amazing.

I think CatDQ could easily make a "Toxic Mother" list!

Oooh, "Toxic Mother" is right Rgv Chick!

Urban uses that phrase occasionally when it fits. Speaking of...Urban, are you out there? I thought you were going to join us!

Anita??

Diana

Back from teaching and have read the postings. Excellent recap, Rgv Chick! "Ana's house of misery." Good one! "monster-in-law fight"--a good one too. I thought that RobPablo's pregnancy symptoms were very cute! Eugenio seems wise in wanting to concentrate on the present. Could Julián be Tulio's son? After all, he avoids the question of whether he was fooling around after he moved away from Ana. And I agree that it was cruel and tacky of old Tulio to abandon Ana when she was depressed because of a miscarriage. CatDQ wanted another son like the 2 creeps she has? Stupid of her.

SpanProf, I like your idea about Julián being Tulio's son. That would be an interesting twist.

It never, ever occurred to me that Julian might be Tulio's son. That would be mind blowing! Wow SpanProf.

Diana

Thank you for another great recap, RgvChick!

"At Ana’s house of misery," is spot on. I don't care one bit about Ana/Julian/Tulio at all. FFWD->!!!

The matching jammies - how cute is that?!?! I remember they had a different set that matched, several weeks ago.

This is such a nice, fun telenovela, which makes for a nice, safe, 1-hr. escape from all the drama, disasters, hate and ugliness of what is happening in the real world. Thank you Televisa and Univision!!! I hope we will see more like this one.

Rgv Chick, thanks a bunch! I missed so much last night even though I watched it all.

How loathsome is CatDQ to pour her bitterness about her husband's desertion onto Julieta? She, Blanca, and grandma are bugging the hell out of me with their preference for boys over girls.

Jarifa: Well, it's the kind of thing that would happen in the Ancient Greek novel. :) And in all subsequent literature, of course.

You're very welcome, Doris, SpanProf and Niecie and thank you for insightful comments.

Wow, Julian Tulio's son?..never occurred to me either, but that would make things so much more interesting...and twisted!!

SpanProf, certainly! And it also would be very "Osorio-esque".
