Mi Marido Tiene Familia #41, Tuesday, October 17, 2017: Little Sisters Grow Up

Previously: Ana reads her coupon that excuses her from any error she has committed regardless of the harm it may have caused. Ana sheds a tear after Rob asks her what error she wants forgiven; and Blanca wonders why. Ana hopes she never commits any error, so Rob won’t have anything to forgive, but Rob keeps looking at Ana wondering what it is that she is hiding. Blanca doesn’t think Ana has anything to be forgiven for since she has always been at their side, supporting them (seeing how they suffer) at every moment. Polita adds that ever since RobPablo got lost, Ana has always been there like a guardian angel (with horns and a tail). RobPablo then suggests that she may use her coupon sometime in the future…in case she ever does something that upsets him. Afterwards, RobPablo gives out the only remaining coupon...Imelda who wins a day out with the entire family. As he sees Ana leaving, RobPablo wonders if all is ok. She says everything is fine…she just has something to go do at home and leaves. Juls approaches RobPablo and notes that, each day, Ana is even stranger.

Later that night--

At Marama Club, Linda approaches Bruno and asks why he made her go there; her father only granted her one hour. Bruno tells her what he has to say won’t take long. He hesitates and admits he doesn’t know to tell her. He ignites his little bomb and tells her they’ve had a good time, but it’s best that they break up. Linda is dumbfounded and wonders why…since he just asked her to be his girlfriend not too long ago. Bruno mumbles that he saw that she was lonely and just wanted to console her, but she doesn’t believe him; there has to be another reason. Bruno denies it and tells her it’s for the best, though Linda insists she wants the truth. Bruno ignores her question and tells her he doesn’t want her to hate him, nor does he want her to be looking for him. She wonders if he doesn’t like her. He leaves as she cries.

At the Corsega’s, Blanca comes from her bedroom to find Eugenio nodding off at the table waiting for Linda who hasn’t gotten there yet. He wants to change the way he treats Linda since he messed up this last time. Blanca also wants to try her best to get closer to her daughters, especially Linda; she doesn't want her to suffer.

At the club, Linda grabs the mic and tells off Bruno…no one leaves her; and he is not going to be the first. She is perfect and it's impossible that he not like her, so she is the one breaking up with him. Bruno is stunned, but quickly announces that they shouldn’t listen to her since this is a result of too much alcohol. As Linda leaves, Corny approaches her, but she tells him she doesn’t remember him. After he chides her for using innocent men, he tells her he forgives her, but she is not interested in what he has to say. He tells her she is suffering because she played her games with people; she deserves what she got. Linda walks away and tells herself she will be alright; she’s not going to cry, but outside, she cries inconsolably as she leans on a pole.

Ana tells Tulio that it’s not easy being with his family knowing that she is lying. He tells her she should have told them a long time ago, but she was afraid they would hate her and put her in jail. She wonders why he didn’t support her if he knew the truth. He justifies it was because of his mother's obsession with her grandson, the attempts to have a child, their failed relationship…he was also a wreck. He wonders if they have a chance to reestablish their relationship, but she tells him they are no longer a couple; they are accomplices of something that will overshadow them the rest of their lives. He assures her that if he is trying to talk things out now, it’s because he loves her, but she argues that it will be impossible to love him. He took advantage of her and let her carry all the blame. She has been his prisoner all these years.

At a park/playground, Dani thanks Gabi. He is glad to see the “bear” return. He knows that, in this world, it is a sin to show feelings; and it takes a lot to admit that one is imperfect and fragile, but he assures her that he is there for whatever, though they can’t tolerate each other for very long. He kindly offers to accompany her if she decides to go to the wedding and assures her she will be the envy of all the women. Dani, however, doesn’t think she will go. When she thanks him for saying she was the manager, he jokingly corrects her…she is Ms. Manager. He adds that it is obvious that she still suffers from her feelings for Ben; so it should serve her as a lesson…next time she likes someone, she should fight for him and not let him go. Dani knows he’s right, but doesn’t react; she has to leave.

As she walks crying, Linda thinks about her tender and happy moments with Bruno.

Dani enters her house and hears her father snoring. She wakes him up and he starts scolding her, but then apologizes when he realizes she is not Linda. Dani tells him to not worry; Linda she can take care of herself, but he argues that as long as she lives there, Linda will have to follow his rules. Just then Linda enters and he starts scolding her, but then he sees she is crying and worries. When Linda shares that something awful happened, Eugenio demands that she tell him who hurt her so he can go take care of him. She avoids his question and asks if he thinks she is ugly or a bad person. He, of course, says “no, she is precious.” Linda continues that the only guy she cares for told her he didn’t care about her or like her. This had never happened to her; no one had hurt her like this. When Eugenio demands to know who the guy is, Dani intervenes and hugs Linda sending her to her room. Dani then tells her father that sometimes people just need a hug (which she learned from Gabi!)

At the club, Bruno tells Corny he already did what he promised, but doesn’t think it was right. Linda took it badly; and she wasn’t at all the type of person Corny said she was, but Corny insists he did the right thing.

Next Day--

At the bakery, Eugenio talks to Blanca and tells her that, as children, they never got hugs…only shoes thrown at them. Blanca thinks they will never finish learning how to be good parents. When Eugenio tells her he is going to try to hug his children more, he realizes he never hugs Blanca; so she tells him he doesn’t let anyone get close to him. It has been many years since he has hugged her. Eugenio thinks there is still time to change; so Blanca hopes he will hug her someday.

At work, Juls worries about her presentation, so Luz assures her everything will go smoothly.

At the Corsega’s, the family is having breakfast as Dani tells her grandma that Linda didn’t stop crying the whole night. Aris thinks it’s strange because it’s always Linda that makes the guys cry. When everyone starts commenting about Linda, Imelda tells them to eat in piece.

In her room, Blanca tells Linda she shouldn’t want to die because of a guy. When Blanca tells her that these things happen so she can value herself more, Linda responds that no one has ever broken up with her, or told her they didn’t like her. Blanca wonders who the guy is but Linda just wants to cry. She had never cried for a guy and had never fallen in love. Linda wants to be alone, but Blanca wants to hug her...and give her all the hugs she wants.

In his own bedroom, Bruno looks at pictures of Linda as CatDQ comes in and tries to get him to eat, but he doesn't want anything; he thinks he is an idiot.

At the hospital, Leonor tells RobPablo she had never seen that lady who asked for him. When she adds that the lady is young and good looking, RobPablo wonders who the lady is.

At his office, Audifaz gets reminded that he hasn’t made any sales…he is getting zero sales; so, he is a zero.

At Cklass, Julieta’s presentation is about to start as Belén tells Mari she is happy she will be a consultant. As everyone claps, Juls addresses the audience. She presents the 10 catalogs for fall and winter and recognizes one consultant who has met all her goals. Juls then shares her own personal news—she is going to have a baby.

At the hospital, RobPablo wants to share an idea he has having to do with treating burns when he hears a female voice ask if he has a minute. When he turns around he is surprised to see Daphne, his “little sister,” who gives him a big hug.

In their bedroom, Dani tries to convince Linda that people don’t fall in love so quickly, but Linda wants to know how Dani knows about that. Linda knows she is a bad person who she deserves what is happening to her...she is the worst, she treated many guys badly. When Dani remembers the one that gave Linda the purse, Linda admits he is the one that chided her at the club. Linder wonders what is wrong with them…Mari’s husband left her and this guy cut her off in the most horrible way. When she looks at Dani, Dani confides that Ben is going to get married. Linda thinks she is justified…they are forsaken.

At the hospital, RobPablo asks Daphne why she hadn’t told him she was coming. When he wonders if she is on vacation, she announces it’s her first day at work there at the psychology department. She is no longer the young girl that confessed that she was in love with him; now, she is grown and wonders if he will go out with her now. When RobPablo shares that he will be getting married soon, Daphne is surprised (and disappointed) and thinks Julieta must be a grand woman.

At Cklass, Juls finishes up her interview. As Luz congratulates her, Juls is glad that she can now concentrate on planning her wedding. The Córsega ladies approach to congratulate her and Amalia wants to know if there is any way they can give her a chance to be alone with one of the models...to give them a massage since they looked very tense. Belén tells Juls not to mind her. After teh others leave, Amalia tells Juls she admires her and assures her she has a friend in her. Juls is touched with her words.

At the hospital, RobPablo continues to talk to Daphne who thinks things have changed. RobPablo agrees…the best thing is that he found his family. She sounds excited and invites him to dinner so he can tell her about it; so RobPablo accepts and will bring Juls.

At his office, Audifaz continue to be reminded that he hasn’t closed any deals, so he needs to go out and look for prospects. When the co-worker starts mentioning Audifaz’s family, Audi tells him to leave his family out of it.

At the Corsega’s, Imelda shares that she already talked to the priest and he does have days open (for the wedding), but Blanca reminds her that they need to get RobPablo’s and Juls’s approval. They also need to tell Dani to make a crib for the baby. Just then, Dani walks in and Imelda asks her if she can design the crib. Excited, Dani thinks it’s a great idea. When Blanca recalls her interest in carpentry and suggests that someday she could have her own business, Dani reminds her she never liked the idea of her being a carpenter. Blanca, however, doesn’t want to be an over-bearing mother; she wants to support he daughters' decisions. Dani is pleasantly surprised and gives Blanca a hug. She will design the best crib they have ever seen.

In her bed of woes, Linda cries and sends Bruno a text…she needs to talk to him; her heart is breaking.

At a restaurant having lunch, Julián assures Ana that no one is free of sin. Ana confesses that hiding this secret all these year has had a toll on her. When she shares that Tulio remained quiet all those years, Julián tells her he would never have left her alone…he would have escaped with her to the other side of the world. When Ana confides she never thought he would have good intentions and wonders if he is trying to cheat her, he asserts that after so many years, he is finally remembering how to tell the truth. As he stokes her chin, Ana confesses she is relieved that she has finally found someone to listen to her; and he looks forward to seeing her every day as they look at each other longingly.

At CatDQ’s house, Hugo chides Bruno for eating his cookies and warns him that when he gets a job he is not going to support Bruno or let him eat his food. They start pushing each other until CatDQ comes in and intervenes. When Hugo wonders how long she will allow Bruno to stay there, CatDQ defends Bruno since he is going through a hard time. As he balks, Hugo tells them he has to leave for an interview at an aquarium.

At the Corsega’s, Blanca tells Eugenio it hurts her to see Linda so sad; she thinks Linda will get sick. When Eugenio wonders what is wrong with their daughters, Blanca feels they can’t help them be happy, but they can stand by them. Blanca pleads that Eugenio go talk to Linda; and when he admits he doesn’t know what to say, Blanca suggests that he talk to Linda with his heart.

In her bedroom, Eugenio tells Linda she should stop crying. Linda thinks she is not pretty and only knew how to take gifts from men. After she tells them not to worry because this will end when she dies of heartache, Eugenio offers to give her a hug, but Linda wants to know if he will buy her something afterwards. He nods and as he hugs her, Linda thanks him for being there.

Congrats, RgvChick, on your first "official" recap. : ) It turned out well and it looks great. More later . . .

I'm back! Thank you, RgvChick, for your comprehensive and entertaining recap. I especially enjoyed your comments in parentheses.

Well, Linda got her long due comeuppance. Just maybe this will help to reform her character.

The comments about flying slippers and spankings compared to hugs sure shows how child rearing has evolved from the 20th century and before until today.

I liked Imelda taking the side of objectivity when it comes to Linda. She knows her granddaughter.

The fashion show was fun.

A treat for the senses. Lovely RgvChick.

“Ana has always been there like a guardian angel (with horns and a tail)" and "In her bed of woes, Linda cries" were among many favorites.

"she tells him they are no longer a couple; they are accomplices of something that will overshadow them the rest of their lives". Ana has finally uttered words I can agree with. I do not understand Tulio's silence. If he truly did mean to support Ana, his silence all those years was deafening.

Silly me, here I was expecting Ana’s full and open confession. What was I thinking?

As I noted, Tulio’s silence all these years is baffling. He is just as evil as Anna. Equally disturbing was Julian stirring Ana’s coffee. She seems to be falling for him. But what does he want? Is it Ana or her money?

While “we” have every right not to like Linda, Bruno didn’t. He didn’t look the slightest bit remorseful at the club. What a punk. And Hugo licking the candy? Truly Cat's kittens. Julieta is the only sane one in the family.

"After she tells them not to worry because this will end when she dies of heartache, Eugenio offers to give her a hug, but Linda wants to know if he will buy her something afterwards". Still a trace of self-serving selfishness. But we couldn't expect Linda to totally reform all at once, now could we? :)

Dani can’t handle her own personal life very well, but she certainly is insightful and understanding of others. She was sweet and caring with Linda.

Jarifa, I agree with your take on Imelda. She does seem to have insight into Linda's feverish little brain.

I loved the fashion show too and the all too brief screen shots of the stars. I don't think she mentioned Daniel Arenas, did she? I thought that would have been clever and fun.

RgvChick, incredible...thank you!

Diana

A heads-up: No show tonight: "Mi marido . . ." Is being pre-empted by "Caer en . . ." which is being pre-empted by soccer..

Diana, you are so right about a Linda when ending her conversation with Eugenio asking for a gift. She also was incredibly crass criticizing the "kinds" of gifts Roberto was giving with his coupons.

I loved "Truly Cat's kittens".

RVG Chick: Enjoyed the recap.

Jarifa: Liked your comment. I'll go further:

"Which is also being preempted by.... "Matlock".... being preempted by "Perry Mason".....

Thanks for the recap! And great job!

Ugh of course Ana didn't confess and acted like she never did anything wrong. How does no one suspect anything though? Did you see the look on her face? That was shock and sadness and so many other mixed emotions.

Linda really annoys me sometimes but I honestly felt bad for her when she was crying. Maybe it's because I have a younger sister but I wanted to give her a hug too. (When the dad went from yelling to caring I thought it was a sweet moment) Yes she deserved to learn a lesson but in that way? Bruno was a straight up jerk. I still don't like him. I think Linda will learn her lesson of not caring about the superficial but I don't think she needs a man to learn that lesson. Let's see what the writers say.

"Dani then tells her father that sometimes people just need a hug (which she learned from Gabi!)" yes! I smiled so much when she said that. Dani and Gabriel teaching each other lessons. It's funny how they think they hate each other. They obviously both care a lot. And I really like that Gabriel is really trying to be her friend despite also being her boss. Maybe they'll sabotage the wedding together haha that would be fun.

Daphne is going to cause some trouble with Rob and Julieta isn't she? I can't wait until Robert tells her there's no way they have a chance. He's way too in love with his wife-to-be.

"In her bed of woes, Linda cries and sends Bruno a text…she needs to talk to him; her heart is breaking."......*cringe* no Linda! No!

Sweet moment between a father and a daughter. Linda ruined it....she'll change. Hopefully.

Thank you Jarifa, Diana, and Steve.

Jarifa, "Linda got her long due comeuppance" It's about time, but as Diana so righteously stated, "Still a trace of self-serving selfishness." but I suppose we can't expect a person to change completely overnight. I'm expecting Bruno's conscience to lead him back to her quite quickly, though...and then we stillhave to wait for that little bomb to drop on Julieta.

Me thinks Daphne is going to bring Julieta more headaches...a love triangle had been missing thus far and I think we'll be getting one soon.

Excellent recap, Rgv Chick! I too loved your parenthetical comments and agree with others that the nasty breakup with Bruno might ultimately be good for Linda's character--and who knows, maybe for Bruno's too. And of course Dafne is now going to be RobPablo's work colleague! Gabe just keeps getting sweeter and sweeter. Grab him, Dani!

Jackie, our comments crossed. If Daphne came to Mexico to work in the same hospital as Robert, I'm sure there is motive; and she will have (or make) opportunities to make trouble and get Robert to finally not see her as a little sister and go out with her.

Thanks RGV!!!

Yeah Daphne is definitely a different kind of headache for Juli. Daphne will be a tougher adversary than Linda. Of course Rob is so sweet he won't see any of it. Hopefully, Daphne will back off when she learns Juli is preggers. I also wonder if her psychology degree will come into play, i.e. providing treatment to him and his family and thus pushing her own agenda---if she is that evil.

Dani and Gabi are too much! I can't wait for these two to give in to each other.

Glad Linda got her comeuppance. Totally hoping she becomes a better person now.

I figured Ana wouldn't confess. Too much too soon. Julian is playing her like a fiddle. Tulio should cut his losses now because he has lost her and I can't see her coming back--until Julian shows his true colors--and then he is at risk to lose as much as Ana.

Hmm, Carvivlie, and I wonder what Julián's true colors are. I will be disappointed if there isn't some big reveal about him at some point.

Thank you RgvChick, for your recap!!!

"Congrats, RgvChick, on your first "official" recap." Did I miss something???

" Linda responds that no one has ever broken up with her, or told her they didn’t like her. " Oh, well, bless her consentida little heart. So, she can dish it out but can't take it. It's about time someone put this spoiled, egocentric brat in her place. Finding out Bruno doesn't have a peso to his name should be interesting.

Daphne will definitely add some drama.

What is Julian's end game?

Thank you, everyone for dropping in and providing insightful and eloquently written comments. Doris, you didn't miss much, I've been writing recaps, but didn't have author privileges on Caray, so I either posted my recaps as comments or Alfredo A or Cynthia would post for me. I now have privileges so I can post my own recaps, yay!

Looks like we are all happy that Linda got her anvil. Bruno was a brute to drop her the way he did, but then if you think about it, that's exactly what she would do to her victims.

Carvivlie, do you really think Daphne will back off when she finds out Julieta is pregnant? TN history would probably say "NO WAY!"

SpanProf, it's hard to tell what Julian is up to, but based on his history, I would say nothing good. Who was it that suggested he may be Tulio's son? I would love to see that as an anvil for Ana la Araña.

RgvChick - Ah, thanks for the explanation. Yes, now you are an official recapper. 👍🏻😎
