Caer En Tentacion #19, 11/10/17: To Damian Lying is Necessary for his truth
When Santi leaves, Damian gets on the phone with Carol. She asks him “what did Santi want?” Damian tells her that Santi was just upset about the Job that he had given to Lola. For a minute there Damian thought that Santi had discovered them. But he has not he is just upset about Lola working for Damian.
The conversation then turns to how Damian wants to be with Carolina, and Carolina also wants to be with Damian. Damian tells Carol to lie down and pretend he is there kissing her all over. Carol lies down and they begin to pretend to be together. He then asks her to get naked, he wants to see her. She puts phone down and begins to get naked, he loves what he sees and at that moment Miriam walks in and catches him watching a naked Carol. He quickly closes the phone but Miriam already suspects that Dam is cheating on his wife. She tells him to be careful because if she can discover the affair, so will his wife.
Nico and Mia are kissing, Nico’s hands begin to move up Mia’s leg but she bolts out of there, she does not want Nico to see her injured legs. She tells him to leave, and he does not understand.
Juan and Lola after having had sex are in each other’s arms telling each other how they love to kiss each other and be with each other, when his mother walks in and they scurry.
At the rehab center where Cynthia is hospitalized, Raquel finds out that a man had snuck in to see Cynthia. Raquel is upset and demands to know who the man was. She demands to see the cameras in order to identify the man.
At Damian’s office Miriam tells Dam that he has a lover. Tells him not to mix work with his personal life.
Outside Juan’s house Lola is upset because his mother treated her like a prostitute, she tells him “I don’t see how I will ever face your mother again” Juan tells her why does she need to see his mother again? Lola gets upset because it becomes clear that he is just using Lola for sex.
At the rehab center Raquel discovers that the man that came to see Cynthia is none other than Andres. She then worries because the secret about her sister is now known by someone close to her mother in law.
Raquel is extremely upset and calls Santi to talk, since he is the only one that knows about her sister’s hospitalization. She tells him to meet her at a restaurant.
In what is a very touching scene, Santi is hugging Benji and tells him “you are my son” kisses him and cries. He then calls Raquel tells her he wants to talk. Raquel is at a bar and begins to drink her pain away. Santi tells her he will put Benji to sleep and will come over.
Nando gets home and Laura tells him about Lola having told her that she gets beat up by a man. Nando says he can’t do anything because Lola has not made an accusation. Laura uses this conversation to again accuse Nando of cheating, and Nando gets frustrated and tells her just tell me what Lola said.
Lola gets home, Nico sees her asks her what is wrong, she says she just wants to sleep “I got fired, mom is dead and Juan started to..” she stops herself Nico asks what did Juan do she tells him to mind his own business and walks away.
Mia asks Fede why is he fighting with their grandmother, she will not leave them with nothing, oh and by the way “mom is not an angel” Fede says “Dad is the one that slept with Carolina” Mia says well mom “went to bed with Santi” Fede does not believe it and tells her she is crazy (Cynthia hears this conversation) Cynthia follows Fede and tells him he is doing the right thing by defending his mother because Miriam is a disgusting person.
At the Alvarado home, Carolina is all dressed and ready to go meet Damian. Nico sees her and asks where is she going, “I’m going to meet new prospective clients” Nico offers to go with her but she wants to handle this “client” by herself it’s better that way. Lola walks in and tells Carolina she needs to talk, Carol can’t now but when she gets back for sure they can talk. Lola looks depressed, but Carol did not even notice, and she leaves.
At the hotel Carol and Damian are having sex and they begin to discuss how they should not be doing this, but they want to be doing this. Carol says “I left my daughter she needed me and I left her to be here with you” she does not blame him but she is doing all of these bad things for him. She says “we are bad, we lie it’s bad, we are crazy.” Damian then says we must lie so that we live our truth” Carol then asks Dam how he can stand to know that she goes to bad with Santi. She does not want him to touch her because he can’t sleep with two men at once. Damian doesn’t really mind because that is how he met her.
Current time
Raquel is confused, and is sorry that they kissed tells him to “take her to bed” well “help her to bed and then leave”
Cynthia shows up to the crooked cops house and tells him she needs money and is willing to sell for him, no one will suspect her.
Raquel and Santi go upstairs, Raquel trips and falls, Santi lands on top of her as Fede and Mia walk in and see them both on the bed.

Andres did worse than try to kiss Raquel; he was looking to rape her. The worst is that since he knows about Cinthia he can blackmail her into sex, providing another Tosca moment for Silvia Navarro.
If Damian didn't have his mind and hormones where they don't belong I'd say he is intelligent enough to know that a drug-addicted relative is no reflection on Raquel. However, that would not prevent Andres from telling Miriam who should not have any controlling interest in the pasta company. She will believe what she wants to believe despite knowing that if Andres had control of the company he would run it into the ground.
Laura does seem to care about Lola, but where is that coming from? Was she a victim herself once upon a time? Or is she hoping for gratitude that leads to more revelations that will further hurt the Alvarados?
More later.
On this Veterans Day, my profound gratitude to all our veterans and their families! Thank you for the freedoms we enjoy.
On our story, I'm having problems believing Caro wouldn't tell Damian about her sis.
She explains that she did not want anyone to know about her sister’s situation because she does not get along with her mother in law and she would only make her feel bad about having a drug addicted sister.
Drug addicts cut across all social classes, so I'm just not getting Raquel keeping this secret. She doesn't appear that insecure.
Lola walks in and tells Carolina she needs to talk, Carol can’t now but when she gets back for sure they can talk. Lola looks depressed, but Carol did not even notice, and she leaves.
Gees, Caro is a disgrace to cheating women everywhere. Just because you're having a hot affair doesn't mean you can't take time with your daughter who you know has been abused and intimidated by older men.
Santi loves Benji and I don't think he'll take it out on the kid. But, honestly, when he realized the affair dated back three years, he should've done the math.
In her head she knows she should care but in her heart she doesn't. Her needs are more important than anyone else's.
Caro only cares because it makes her look bad. Cheating exposes the cheater's selfishness and narcissism. Remember, this is a woman who was leaving her TODDLER behind to have hot sex with Damian in Miami.
Same with Damian. Damian doesn't love Carolina. He loves the excitement & danger. But he doesn't love her. Every time she has expressed wanting to work on her business or care for her family, Damian is all like "Yeah yeah but I need you more." And that's probably more seductive than the sex, to be honest: somebody saying/suggesting their desire for you is worth risking their family, marriage & reputation over...they want you more than they want their partner.
That's why so many "Other Women" get cocky, because they feel powerful that the man they're having the affair with is choosing them over their wives/girlfriends and risking their relationships & reputation to be with THEM. Then reality hits, the affair is found out and the man drops them like a hot potato & runs back to the wife/girlfriend and the Other Woman is left confused.
Laura is struggling. She feels that Godoy didn't want her (which is why he had the affair), doesn't currently want her (because of her disability) and is only still with her because he doesn't want to get found out and because of pity/guilt. I think she wants to be loved by Godoy but she can't trust him. I wonder if part of her interest in this case is to find out why Carolina & Lola were/are so desirable, is it because they are hoes? I find it interesting the one person Laura has not sniffed around yet is Raquel.
Is Cynthia trying to be a drug dealer? Cynthia is a Cant Git Right.
Raquel needs to sell off ALL of Damian's expensive shirts and fine jewelry and if he wakes up and gets mad about it, she needs to ream him out by pointing out he made sure his MISTRESS had shelter while doing nothing to protect his WIFE and children.
IMO Mia is in sexual competition with Raquel. She's going to believe the worst about Raquel because she wants to come out on top. She's going to come on to Santiago IMO. Santi better remember Nacho's warning when she gave him the sex eyes a few episodes ago.
I saw most of this and as always, you captured the events just as they occurred.
Niecie, thank you for mentioning Veterans Day. I share your sentiments and gratitude. To all those who served, thank you. Thinking of Madeline especially today...
The one constant here is Damian and Caro's mutual passion to the exclusion of everyone else, including their children. "Gees, Caro is a disgrace to cheating women everywhere" said it all Niecie.
"She does not want him to touch her because he can’t sleep with two men at once. Damian doesn’t really mind because that is how he met her". Hmmm.
UA, you struck a cord with me as to what Laura's possible motivations are. Does she truly feel for Lola or is she using her? I'd say the latter as she doesn't appear to have a heart. Hope I am wrong.
Raq hiding her sister from Dam is very inconsistent with her character. But perhaps she knows Damian far better than we.
Sandie, thank you for your observant eye and wonderful words.
Diana
I think I've said this before but Miriam has likely saved the worst of her venom for when Damian wasn't there to hear it. That is the one thing that would make Raquel hide Cinthia's addiction from Damian. While Damian would probably not have told Miriam there was still the possibility that she would overhear something or see paperwork about it. Of course, that she hid this from him is a weapon in the hands of Andres and Miriam which can go nuclear if Damian wakes up.
Mia and Fede will completely misinterpret what they're seeing at the close of this episode and that will screw up their relationship with Raquel and with Santiago's children.
Mia pursuing any sexual relationship now would be disastrous for her, never mind looking at a man old enough to be her father (and who is the same physical type). The one thing that makes it a possibility is the contrast to Lola, whose situation is sick enough.
Miriam is pretty smart but it was evident that she will protect Damian when she should be telling Raquel about his affair. She obviously doesn't who the other woman is but technically she is the first to find out about the affair itself.
I don't think I've noticed a scene where Caro was taking care of Benjamin. I would think that if she's so happy to be with Damian her twisted mind would also be happy to have his kid and pretend it's her husband's. For her to leave to go have sex with Damian when Lola needed her was very selfish. Damian isn't exactly worthy of a "father of the year" award either.
I'm kinda enjoying the writers teasing us with Santiel kissing scenes lol I think by the time there's an actual love scene between them, it'll be worth it. I like that there's a strong friendship and mutual respect and trust between them. The fact that Raq trusts Santi enough to tell him about the situation with Cinthia, is very telling.
I hate rape/almost rape scenes in telenovelas. Raq was lucky to get away but Andres likely won't stop pursuing her any time soon.
If Benjamin does prove to be Damian's child and Damian knew Benjamin was his child, he is even more of a scumbag for letting another man work himself to the bone to put food in Damian's son's mouth and a roof over Damian's son's head.
I don't see either Santiago or Raquel rejecting Benjamin if he ended up being Damian's child but I can see one of the kids (Mia) doing so.
*Carolina probably did the same song and dance about not wanting to leave the children, not wanting to hurt anyone blah blah but she ultimately made the choice to leave the child behind to take care of here own sexual needs.
In light of the scene between Santiago and Benji last night ("In what is a very touching scene, Santi is hugging Benji and tells him “you are my son” kisses him and cries."), I am assuming that we do not yet know if Benji is the Santi's son or Damian's. Was there any discussion (e.g. between Godoy and Santiago) that to remove the doubt Santiago should have a DNA test done to determine Benji's paternity? Or is Santi just going to assume that Benji is his, period?
Raquel was sort of a mess last night. I guess she's reacting to everything: Damian's affair, his condition, Miriam, and, last, but not least, Andres' rape attempt.
These characters are exhausting.
Anon 7:45 indeed Raquel is reacting to those items you listed and additionally to the culmination of what the past three years have been to her. Imho I don't understand how she is able to function at all. As for Santi it is not his nature to want to know about benji.
urban your comment about MIA looking for a sexual relationship with Santi is indeed sad. I don't see that happening.
Niecie thanks for saluting our veterans.
One final note. Juan is dangerous because he can't control his sick predatory impulses. And Andres is dangerous because he can.
I am able to catch up only once a week depending on Univision OnDemand postings of the episodes. So, my comments may not be episode specific.
Hands down, my favorite scene so far in the novela has been where Raquel is ragging on Damián in his hospital room. In his comatose state it is not known if he can hear or process the info at all. If he can, it is the perfect revenge.
Urban, ITA that Damián should have done better by Raquel in reference to his domineering mother. I was thinking he should have protected her rights legally being aware of the animosity. I am glad that Fede is forcing himself into the family business. Somebody has to try to keep Miriam in check.
So now will there be a DNA test to determine Benji’s paternity?
I am looking for very unhappy endings for Miriam, Andrés and Juan . . .
Does anyone know how many episodes this novela has?
I wish I were more interested in Lola and her problems. Surely they will tie this in to the main story at some point.
I'm also wondering, with all of you, what Laura has to do with all of this. Is it just a juicy story to reveal murder and scandal among the rich and not so rich and not terribly famous? Or is she personally involved somehow. She really has no way of insuring the safety of Lola from Juan. Bad as it is, I think Lola was right in walking out. Laura is left with nothing for Nando. He's right, unless someone files a complaint, the police can't do anything.
Will we ever find out What's Eating Nando? Have we ever seen him smile? He and Laura know who he cheated with, how come we on the Patio don't know. Hmmmmm.
Sissy Cin indeed wants to work as a distributor for Dirty Cop. However, I don't believe for a minute she's doing this to help her sister out of any financial difficulty. All this will do is implicate Raquel as a co-criminal. I think her brain is already fried. How long will it take Raq to find the missing watches?
Only a day and a half to go before we find out what Mia and Fede think of the bed scene. Here Dam & Caro are up-to-now, not found out, but Santi putting a drunken Raq to bed will be treated as cheating by the two kids. Wish Mia hadn't seen them kiss, but without it, she'd have no "proof."
In this tn she is perfectly interpreting an over-the-top upper-class socialite who never had to work and found other outlets for her energy. (We've all known a few.) She belongs to a class that has always considered itself to be better than those below. Raquel learned her position well along side Damian, although we are now seeing cracks. So the contrast between her and Caro, who comes from a humbler background is quite stark.
Still to be answered--why did Raq sell her parents' house? Were they not as wealthy or of the same class as Dam and his family? Is that why Miriam so dislikes her? From the snippet we learned earlier, Raq met the cousins, where? In school? She was very young, as was Caro when she and Santi got married. Andres met Raq first and thinks he has claims on her, but as she told him in no uncertain terms, she would never have considered him a suitable partner. He accused her of choosing Dam for his money.
Of course Andres would accuse Raquel of choosing Damian for his money; that's his own ego talking. He fails to see that Damian is better-looking, has a better manner of self-presentation, is hard-working despite (presumably) having been born to greater wealth and privilege. He most probably also had better grades in school and was more considerate of Raquel and other women. Raquel did remind Andres that when she and Damian got together and eventually married he was struggling to save his father's company. He had commented in an earlier episode that she had helped him so he didn't do this all by himself.
As for why Raquel hid Cinthia's addiction, I don't think this was about the money so much as about Miriam. I doubt that Raquel deserves any blame for Cinthia's addiction; we also don't know anything about their parents. Are they from any lower social class than Miriam? Maybe. But if Raquel attended the same university as Damian and was making the grade she was certainly a suitable girlfriend and eventual wife for him.
Miriam is the true sicko here because I don't see that she would have reacted any differently to any other serious novia. Cinthia's addiction and whatever that led to would be a very convenient excuse for Miriam to object to Raquel. Her accusations about Raquel being a gold-digger won't hold water until she finds out that Raquel took money behind Damian's back for Cinthia's rehab which I'm sure didn't happen until the money from the sale of the parental home ran out.
Raquel's frequent brashness is probably a cover-up for some level of insecurity. If she had told Damian in the first place about Cinthia I'm sure he would have given her the money, but Raquel must have continued to fear Miriam's reaction and influence in view of Damian's failure to prevent Miriam from treating her the way she does. It's likely he didn't see or hear the worst of it, but Miriam's constant harping about Raquel never having been good enough for him seems to have not only never stopped but possibly gotten worse over the years.
Of course, all of that is going to get much worse now that Damian is in a coma and Miriam will believe the worst of Raquel and Santiago on the flimsiest evidence. That she is trying to turn Mia and Federico against Raquel is truly sick.
Mia doesn't need this to turn against Raquel because she suspected Raquel of cheating on Damian all along. Mia will probably blame Raquel for why Damian was cheating in the first place.
Tonight's recap will post as the credits roll on the east coast; I will be at the opera. This isn't a plot spoiler but I think that the actress playing Lola has less makeup on during the "tres anos antes" scenes than in the current time ones.
Another thing that's bugging me is that shouldn't Benjamin be talking by now? Don't most children start talking long before they're two?
Another weak character here is Lola, she let's Juan beat her, Laura manipulate her and in general she has no self esteem.
My favorite character is Benji. All other's are either sick, weak, annoying or simply monsters.
BENJI-- Meantime--I have often suspected that they choose toddler age (+ -) kids for some parts because they are very slow or have some condition where they don't hear or dont react etc. That makes the filming much easier. Just a thought. OR, maybe the kid is actually just a very large kid for his age--but still he might at least be babbling unless they gave him some benedryl before filming- ha ha!!!
LOLA- yes quite weak....very sad..... and Federico seems to definitely want to find a way to help out his Mom and working at the company is a great way to get in there and do something! Yay, Fede!!
Miriam is dog poo. "If I can discover
Your affair so can your wife. That old
Heffa is enabling her son in his dirty lo Living. They deserve each as son n
Nasty momma.
This show is gettin messier & messier.
And whats goin on with Mia? Does she hate her mother? You know what I'll be gald when they Don't go back-n-forth &
