Mi Marido Tiene Familia #57, 11/9/2017: A Business Proposal and Confessions of a Mad Woman

Previously: Julieta talks to her mom. Her father is in Oaxaca and she is going to see him. Catalina does not want her going to see the man that abandoned them. If she goes, she will disown her.

Tulio wants to know the name of the man Ana is cheating on him with. Lázaro the driver will not give up the info on Ana at first but ends up giving Julián's name to Tulio.

Ana and Julián are staying at a hotel at the airport. Julián wants to sleep with her. Ana is not interested. She needs to talk to Tulio. She sends him off to his own room. Julián visits Ana later that night and is all over her. Tulio calls and tells her he knows who she is cheating on him with. She decides that Julián has to go. Julián calls Robert and is on the verge of telling him the truth about Ana having taken him as a child as Ana screams "No!" in the background.
Robert is surprised to hear Ana’s voice. Ana then yells out to Robert that the time has come for them to talk. Ana lunges at Julián to get the phone, but he throws it to the bed. She demands he give her the phone and yells that she will tell RobPablo everything before Tulio or he does; she is tired of the threats. When Julián retorts that she shouldn’t be unjust, Ana shouts, “No more! No More!” Julián tells her he can call RobPablo, but she demands that he stop; he has always been a cheat and a liar. She never wants to see him again. Meanwhile, RobPablo tries to return the call, but no one answers.

Next Day—

At the bakery, Blanca knows RobPablo is very depressed and doesn’t know what to do to make him feel better. Eugenio tells her she needs to not meddle with RobPablo and Juls. Blanca feels he is blaming her and that there are days when it seems Eugenio hates them; so Eugenio reminds her that RobPablo asked them not to meddle and it seems it went in one ear and out the other. Not willing to be vexed, Blanca replies that just so he knows, her son is not upset with her; he invited her to go out…just RobPablo and herself.

As they make their beds, Marisol tells Dani that she doesn’t like to get involved, but Dani shouldn’t play with the two men. Dani assures her she isn’t; she doesn’t like what’s happening. Mari then suggests that Dani give herself permission to love. Linda chimes in that she is scared because the guy she wants doesn’t want her and the one she doesn’t want wants her; and now Dania has two men after her. Dani thinks that just as she has lived all these years without Benjamin or Gabriel, she can go on living without them; and Linda can live without men too…they don’t need a man, it’s better to be single.

Gabriel arrives at his restaurant in crutches. When Danilo wonders what happened, Gabriel remarks that he fell on top of Ben”jamon” (jamón = ham). He then tells Danilo that when Dani arrives, to tell her that her boss is urgently waiting to see her. Meanwhile, Dani is leaving her house, but stops to tie her shoelace as Benjamin arrives and scares her. He just wanted to wish her a good day and to apologize for showing up the day before; he knows he shouldn’t come over without an invitation. Dani explains that she doesn’t like to be pressured. She knows nothing about love. She has always been alone; and she is difficult and different. When Benjamin tells her they have known each other for many years so he knows how she is. That is what makes her special. Dani responds that she wants to take it slow…5 kilometers per hour if possible; she doesn’t want to get shattered. They have known each other as friends, not as a couple; and, to be sincere, she needs to figure out what she feels. Benjamin then asks if she has feelings for the man from the restaurant, but Dani doesn’t know; that’s why they should take it slow…so he won’t get hurt and she won’t get hurt. Benjamin backs down, but offers to take her to work; though Dani prefers to take the bus and wishes him a nice day.

At Cat’s house, Bruno discusses about getting into robotics, but needs a hand(ful of money) from Juls. After Cat reminds Juls that her brothers need her, Hugo mentions the money “RobPablo says” he owes him, but Juls clarifies that it’s not a matter of RobPablo saying it, Hugo does owe him the money. Hugo, however, argues that now that they aren’t together, it may need to be renegotiated. Cat tries to intervene and tells Hugo to be prudent, but Juls emphasizes that RobPablo and she are still a couple; they are just resolving the situation. Imelda praises her for having faith. Juls continues that Hugo will have to pay the money they lent him; the more he waits the more interest accrued. She turns to Bruno and chides him for spending the money for the university on who knows what. Cat understands Juls, but Juls shouldn’t be embarrass her mother’s sprouts. Juls just wants to make it clear that she is not there to be taken advantage of. When Juls announces she will be meeting her father and they should also meet him so he can explain why he left, Cat runs after her and forbids her from seeing that bad ma, She adds that Juls has enough of a mother; she doesn’t need that man.

As Dani arrives at the restaurant, Gabriel groans in (fake) pain and complains that he can’t stand the pain inflicted when her little friend threw him down the stairs at her building. She wonders why they were fighting, so he clarifies it was for “whom;” it is her fault they were fighting. Dani tells him she didn’t invite either of them and because of them her father scolded her. When Gabriel points out that he is the one with the crutches…he is the victim and Benjamón will pay, Dani tells him Benjamin has done nothing to him, but Gabriel considers Benjamin his rival…a small rival at that, but still a rival. Dani replies she had no idea Gabriel liked her; and anyway, they shouldn’t be talking about it there at work. When Gabriel tells her she is a nightmare and points out how he has been physically hurt, Dani thinks he doesn’t really like her since he is always criticizing her; he just wants to win. Dani then tells Gabriel that it’s best that she continue going out with Benjamin. She is going to quit her job there and resume her work in carpentry. She might even open her own company.

At Polita’s house, Audifaz sees Polita with three candles and wonders what they are for. Polita explains it’s the first day of the academic olympics; she is also praying for their baby; and last, so that they win the lottery. Audifaz agrees they are bankrupt. Polita hopes she gets hired at the bookstore, but is afraid because if they ask her about the books, she wouldn’t know what to say. Audi kneels beside her and tells her he would do anything to take away her stress.

On his way to his class, Aris is greeted by Diana who wonders if he has been studying. He assures her he has been studying. In class, Aris goes to sit at his desk as Diana starts her introduction for the academic olympics and hands out the first part of the test. Aris looks nervously at Romina, the girl next to him.

Walking down the sidewalk, Blanca invites RobPablo to the Fiesta of the Guelaguetza. RobPablo admits he didn’t go last year, but has heard good things about it; so he agrees. Blanca explains that on that particular day, they celebrate the Virgen of Carmen. People honor the day by sharing and helping others. The Córsega’s take bread to share. When RobPablo asks what she wants him to give her, she says, “Your company.” RobPablo then confides that on previous Mother’s days, he would always think to give her something when he found her. On this day, he will give her something. She then shows him that she brought her coupon that he gave her. When Blanca confides that she doesn’t like getting presents, RobPablo tells her it’s important to give, but also to receive.

At Ana’s house, Tulio chides Ana for leaving with Julián, but she assures him nothing happened. She did, however, realize fear of telling the truth can turn lives into hell. When Tulio wonders if Ana knows what kind of bug Julián is…or that he is a criminal, he asks her if Julián threatened her. She then confides that Julián did threaten to tell the family her secret. After Tulio points out that he has no proof, Ana emphasizes that RobPablo is about to reveal everything, so she has decided to tell RobPablo everything this very day.

As Julián walks down the street, a woman talks to 2 cops and points to him. When Julián sees the cops, he starts running away; and the police give chase.

At a jewelry store, Blanca doesn’t want RobPablo to spend too much money on her, but he urges her to accept some earrings so she can think of him when she wears them. Blanca will accept them because he asks her to, though she wants him to pick them out. When he does, she is overjoyed that the ones he picked are the ones she liked. Just then, Ana calls RobPablo and asks where they can meet to talk. RobPablo replies that he will send her the address and can meet her in half an hour. After he hangs up, Blanca asks who called but catches herself being a metiche; so she just asks if all is well. He tells her it was from the foundation about an appointment. She hugs and kisses him asking if he is sure everything is alright; so he insists everything is fine…he’s just very happy to be with her.

Linda is at her office working when she hears someone singing. Corny jumps into her office singing and wondering how she liked it. She reminds him they had agreed that he would put a halt to his extreme behaviors. She gets upset and doesn’t want to see him anymore, but is very willing to find a great girl named Linda for him because it will never work out between them. When he argues, she tells him she can even help him get rid of the tattoo there at her job. As Corny cries, she consoles him and thanks him for everything.

At school, Aris finishes his test quickly. Diana asks if he wants to check his answers since he still has time, but he politely refuses. As he leaves, he looks at Romina and gives her a cocky smile.

As Blanca and Amalia walk outside together, Amalia notices Blanca’s big smile, so Blanca shows her the earrings RobPablo bought for her. Amalia pokes that it was for Blanca’s benefit that Juls left, so Blanca tells her to be prudent. Amalia returns that Belén wouldn’t have gone to see Aurelio if Blanca hadn’t opened her mouth. Blanca tells her to shut hers. Amalia then gets some stomach pains, so Blanca rushes her to a restroom.

At CKlass, Juls is working with a model when Luz approaches to ask how she is feeling. Juls feels like she is going to explode. She misses RobPablo and can’t stop thinking about him. Luz comments that just because they are apart doesn’t mean that their relationship is finished. She then suggests that Juls go see RobPablo. Juls thinks about it and decides she will go.

At Xavi’s apartment, Xavi tells Mari that he is going to look for a job and sell his piano. Marisol tries to convince him not to give up; they can revive his career, but Xavi thinks he can’t revive what’s dead. He is the joke of the web. Mari tells him this is not the end unless he stops trying. She is going to gather all his fans and compensate them with something. She also suggests how he should use the little money he made, but he needs to stop acting like a child and a victim because that doesn’t help him at all. She stomps out, so he goes after her and chides her for saying he is a victim. She retorts that is how he is acting. She won’t stay at his side and watch him drown.

Icky reproaches Begonia and wonders if Xavi’s manger and she planned Xavi’s demise. She chides him for caring what happens to Xavi and his ex-wife, but he denies it. She is glad because it’s obvious there is something developing between Mari and Xavi. Begonia then warns him if he’s not careful he will lose her too. When he asks her to explain herself, she adds that he is becoming a bother; before, he was an interesting and fun man. He needs to shape up or she will become bored with him.

In his office, Gabriel is on the phone with his father and asks him to trust him. He is planning everything for the inauguration of the new location and everything will be fine…nothing will go wrong. After he hangs up, Gabriel that he is Gabriel Musi; he is brilliant, unlike Benjamin. Just then, Dani comes in to bring him the coffee that Danilo asked her to bring. When she tells him she just wants to go back to continue her job and is glad his foot doesn’t hurt anymore, Gabriel gets up and groans, but then tells her he’s joking. He wants to give her some good news. They approved the change of location for the restaurant. He has found a good location and between the two of them, they will have the best restaurant in Oaxaca. They celebrate with a hug and Dani starts laughing. When she tells him he was tickling her, he continues to tickle, but when he stops and keeps looking at her, she asks what’s wrong. He tells her he has never seen that her eyes are so spectacular. She blushes and thinks his eyes are also very pretty. He stays close to her and asks her to choose him; he wants to see what the future will hold for them…together…and…they KISSSSS!! (Oh, why didn’t they show fireworks!?) He goes in for another kiss, but is interrupted by Danilo and Otto. They heard Dani scream; so they came to rescue her, but Gabriel chides them for coming in and messing up big time! He warns them that this should not happen again. They leave nodding.

Out on the sidewalk, Frida asks Xavi when he will have his concert since she promised her friends he would take them. Xavi tells her he will have to exchange the concert for something else. He doesn’t have a manager and won’t be singing anymore. Mari again tries to encourage him and tells him there are many people who believe in him…he can inspire others. After Frida thanks him for going to pick her up at school, Mari and Frida go inside the building as Blanca comes out of the bakery. Xavi is glad to see Blanca because he has his rent money. She tells him she doesn’t like that he pays late. She knows he’s a singer, but he should find a job…a real job…not just play his piano all day long. She then adds that she doesn’t like his relationship with her daughter. In that building, lives an army that can defend her daughter and granddaughter, but Xavi understands and knows that…beginning with the general (Blanca).

At school, Romina sits outside with Aris and wonders why he finished his test so quickly. He tells her it was just easy, but she thinks he just answered whatever. When she tells him she never thought he would be one to enter the Olympics, he responds that everyone deserves a chance, but she doesn’t think he’s the brightest star. She also thinks his name is too big for him; he’s handsome, but not intelligent. He is probably going to get the lowest score. When Aris suggests he just might get the highest score, she laughs and leaves.

In his office, Gabriel asks Dani to be his partner when he launches the restaurant at the new location. He needs her to help him…with everything. As he holds her hands and looks longingly into her eyes, Dani is quite uncomfortable. She congratulates him and appreciates the offer, but she already told him she wanted to go back to carpentry; it is her passion. Dani starts to leave, but Gabriel stops her and holds her hands again telling her she can use all her creativity, philosophy and knowledge about carpentry in the new locale. She can design furniture for the restaurant…chairs, tables, whatever she wants…he just doesn’t want her to leave him alone. As she slowly pulls her hands away from his, Dani tells him she isn’t sure.

Ana goes to see Rob at the foundation. Max tells her he is with a patient, but asked that she wait for him. When she asks if the foundation really belongs to RobPablo, Max confirms and adds that he joined an establishment and started it with some of his friends. He explains that they treat children who are burn victims. When Ana asks if she can walk through the building, Max invites her to do so and adds that they always accept donations. She meets Dave who asks if she is sad, but she gets upset and tells him to go with his friends. Dave then tells her that when he is sad, Baxter, his stuffed animal helps him and offers to share Baxter with her. When Ana angrily grabs him and orders him to go with his friends, RobPablo comes in and yells at her. He then asks Tavo to take Dave back.

As they walk down a sidewalk, RobPablo tells Ana that the last time they talked she told him that his memories were not real and that he was just imagining things without any proof. Then Tulio told him she had been hospitalized that day, but he checked the records and knows that was a lie. He knows exactly what he remembers…he was with his mother, then she arrived and took him by the hand; he knows it was her. As he demands that she stop lying, they pass a store where Juls is shopping; and Juls sees them. Ana then tells him he is right; she will no longer lie; so she admits, “I abandoned you at the orphanage” as Juls listens through a window. RobPablo then clearly recalls the sequence of events—how he was crying in the marketplace, being led away by Ana, being at the door of the orphanage, and crying out for his mother. Ana tells RobPablo she has many things to explain…

R: What can you explain?
A: You grandmother blamed your mother. Your father stopped talking. The family turned into a chaos. I swear I wanted to tell them everything; I was going to do it, but I couldn’t. I was so afraid!
R: How can I believe you?
A: Juan Pablo, I swear I regretted it. When I realized the terrible error I committed, I felt I was going crazy.
R: How can you dare to say it was an error? (Juls still watches and listens from the window)
A: Because the pain followed me…and the envy; I beg you, please, understand me. I had my third abortion that day; I wasn’t me…I wasn’t thinking. I didn’t wanted to hurt my family. I swear it; please, believe me.
R: No! Tell me one thing, why did you pretend not to know me when you first saw me? Why did you want to keep me from reuniting with my family?
A: I was afraid.
R: That’s why you wanted to convince Juls to go study in another country. (Juls is pacing wanting to go outside with Robert, but doesn’t.)
A: Yes, I was haunted with the thought that you would be remembering and telling everyone what happened. My world turned into a hell. There wasn’t a day of peace for me…seeing their pain and knowing I was to blame.
R: I don’t even know what to say.
A: You found good parents that gave you everything you needed; you could be happy. At least you had a better life; I suffered more than you. (Robert turns to leave)
A: No, Juan Pablo, wait. Juan Pablo, please, I need to know what you will do.
R: How dare you say I had a better life than you…you are wrong because I had many miserable days!
A: You don’t understand what I lived!
R: No, you are the one that doesn’t understand. When you left me at that orphanage, as time passed, I forgot my name and my birthday. When I was adopted, they wrote the first of the year as my birthday. Every first of the year, on my supposed birthday, I would wonder what my name was…who were my parents…why did they abandon me….what did I do wrong for them to leave me thrown in that orphanage?
A: I never imagined…
R: No one should ever have to imagine a child thinking those things on their birthday. At least you knew why you were miserable. I wondered if someone would ever love me or worry about me. Don’t you dare say that my life was easier than yours!
A: I deserve the worst…
R: You deceived your family for 34 years. You made them believe that my mother was to blame; and my God, you impeded Daniela from being happy…that, you cannot call an error; what you did was a crime!
A: I know I am the worst…but I am so regretful. There isn’t a day that I deserve to be punished. I will tell the family everything that happened…and will accept whatever happens afterwards….their rejection, their hate. Do you think that will be enough?
R: (Ana tries to reach for him.) Don’t touch me! Don’t get near me!
A: You gave me a gift…that you would forgive me whatever. Do you think that when everyone knows the truth, you can forgive me?
R: No. Everything you did was with intention because of your (mental) crisis; I don’t care. Even if I would want to understand, nothing justifies what you did. My family loves you. They believe you. They made you a part them without realizing that you impeded their happiness.
A: I know they will hate me; they will not want to look me in the eye ever again. Understand me, I didn’t know what you remembered. I died of worry.
R: You also deceived Juls. You made Julieta believe that you offered her your friendship friend; and you would tell put ideas in her head about my family. Anita, have you ever said anything that was true?
A: Yes…I regret what did; if I could replace everything you lost, I would do it. I will do whatever you want; what do you want me to do?
R: I wish I could give you a punishment without considering the consequences. I’m not going to do it. I don’t know if I will tell anyone else. I need to think. In the meantime, don’t ever get near me again and don’t dare tell this to anyone.
A: Thank you for thinking about it. I know you are a good person.
R: I’m not doing it for you, I don’t want more pain for my mother, father, and grandmother. I don’t want them to suffer now that they have their happiness back. You…can go to the hell you deserve…Tia…Ana.

As RobPablo walks away, Juls watches him and Ana falls to her knees crying. As Juls runs out of the store without being seen, Ana sits in front of the shop sobbing.

At the Córsega’s, Blanca asks Imelda if she has forgiven her for losing her grandson. Imelda replies that she had always reproached her for releasing Juan Pablo at the market. Blanca admits that Imelda made her feel like the worst woman in the world. Imelda regrets that she made her suffered twice the pain. She tells Blanca she is a grand lady, especially a good mother. Blanca feels those words count double coming from Imelda. Imelda then would rather talk of something else…the festival. She wishes she were a few years younger so she could dance all through Oaxaca. Blanca knows that what destiny took will never be returned…that’s why she wants to go to the festival with her four children. Imelda tells her to go; she will stay by herself.

Credit to Jarifa for the "previously" scenes.

Bravo to Robert for giving Ana what she deserved...for starters, that is!

I do hope Dani takes up Gabi's offer...that would be perfect for both their futures...personal and professional.

RVG Chick: Welcome to the Latina version of "Tyler Perry's Diary of a Mad Latina!"

Rgv Chick, Thanks! I loved the recap especially the Robert/Ana conversation. Excellent!

What to say?

The writers have created such complicated but such “human” characters.

We have the children’s morality play with Aristóteles on one hand and the adult morality play with Ana on the other.

So many sad cases here. Unbelievable that Imelda or anybody would blame Blanca for “losing” Juan Pablo in the throes of labor.

The Daniela/Gabriel romance is just charming.

I was glad that Julieta witnessed (how likely would that be?) Ana’s confession to Robert and realized she, too, had been manipulated.

I cannot wait for the festival. That is one thing I really love about the novelas is when they include the local happenings.

Btw, a little typical Osorio with Amalia’s intestinal rumblings. Who would have ever guessed Blanca would be carrying toilet paper on a roll with her? ; )

Steve, ""Tyler Perry's Diary of a Mad Latina!" Good one, thanks!
e
Jarifa, thank you :-) "So many sad cases here.", ITA and I am so glad they spared us the torment Imelda must have put Blanca through. I cannot imagine how Blanca got through losing a child and being constantly blamed for it without the support of her husband since he "wouldn't talk." I do not understand how she can still be so amicable to Imelda and listen to her advice.

Julieta witnessing the whole conversation was truly a coincidence. Last time we saw her she was on her way to go see Robert...and she stopped to shop? The other thing I questioned was why Robert and Ana were talking about such a delicate subject out on the street. I would think he would have taken her to a private office.

Gabi and Dani...I can never rave enough about them...I cheered when they kissed and was really expecting some time of fireworks to be shown. I guess Osorio thougth the stomach rumblings were more important...Ack! Blanca carrying that roll of paper reminded me of my grandmother...so it does happen LOL

Icky is getting what he deserves...YAY!!

Corny was really being true to his nickname, but I was surprised that Linda was actually trying to console him.

BTW..The name of that festival is Fiesta de la Guelaguetza..looking forward to that too!

Thanks so much RGV!!!

What an episode! So now we know Gabi has sisters--don't know if he has a mom because he didn't tell his dad to say hello to her.

The truth finally comes out from Ana. Interesting to see what happens from here. She is a screwed up human being. Weird though that Juli didn't immediately run after Rob, and stopped because her phone rang.

I don't know why the police were after Julian but I hope he goes to jail.

Gabi and Dani were the best. Oh if only those guys hadn't interrupted they would have been making out for awhile!

Icky is getting his but Begonia needs to get hers too!

I was a bit pissed when Blanca told Eugenio that Juan Pablo wasn't mad at her for her part in breaking up Juli and Rob.

I hope Ari comes clean about cheating.

thank you RGV, I love this TN.

Your recap is SO helpful, I miss many details (I have only one year of self learning the language) but the emotion is clear. I am grateful for you taking the time to provide Ana & Rob's dialogue. It has been rare to see this character, Rob, angry and I am so happy to see it.

I am also thrilled that Julieta (not Julie!) witnessed and understood the scene. Hopefully they can reconcile soon but I know something might still provide a stumbling block, I don't think Daphne is done causing trouble...

The soundtrack is repetitive but I'm not sick of it yet...

Julian is creepy, a very exaggerated "bad guy". Did I miss it? where/how did he get the red sweater? His character seems to be the symptom of "lazy writing".

I hope Belen meets with her ex and discovers that they aren't the same people as she remembers and she decides to move on. I love her character. CAT on the other hand is too extreme and I FF>> through her scenes and don't care.

Thanks again
Rena

Carvivlie, yes, it was upsetting to see Blanca gloat that Juan Pablo isn't upset with her. I do have to put some blame on Robert though; I still feel he is being too lenient with Blanca and Imelda. I can understand he just found his family and may want to maintain what closeness they have achieved, but he has asked them not to meddle at least twice already and he is on the brink of losing the love of his life. He told Eugenio that the metiches weren't the sole reason for Julieta's departure, but what other reason is there? Surely, Julieta didn't leave because of Linda, she could put up with that brat if she had the support of her MIL and GMIL. The loss of the baby was tragic for her, but, again, if the metiches had kept their mouths shut, Julieta would most likely still be with Robert trying to mourn for their loss TOGETHER, It does, however, seem that the mourning period is over and other issues are taking their time and energy.

You're welcome, Rena! ...and thank you! I hadn't really given much thought to the Belen storyline, but your suggestion sounds really good. The only regret I would have is that Amalia would probably take credit for keeping them apart and be happy that Belen has no one again...but if Belen found someone else that would take care of that!

RVG, Robert hasn't done enough to protect Julieta from his family. He has blinders on when it comes to them. I understand why. Also, Julieta hasn't confessed all of the stuff they have done and said to her because she has been trying to win them over and also, she wants Rob to be close to them.

Great recap, Rgv Chick! ITA that it was a bit contrived how Julieta was able to overhear Ana's revelations to Robert. And great acting by Daniel Arenas! It was cute when Benjamín offered to drive Dani to work at 5 kilometers an hour. But Gabi is offering her her heart's desire: a chance to design all the furniture and other (wood) fixings for his new restaurant. Man, Julieta's brothers are creepy! Btw, I loved "hand(ful of money)." Maybe Audi should work at the bookstore. He'd be perfect. Aris's comeuppance will no doubt happen when he moves to the next level of the competition (oral?) and doesn't know what he's doing.

Thanks, SpanProf! ITA about DA's acting, both he and Zuria have really gone over the top in this TN. I had never seen DA but immediately liked him; and I had only seen Zuria once before (in Que Te Perdone Dios) and wasn't really that impressed with her performance in that. If there were Mexican Emmy awards, I would hope these two would win. I haven't heard raves about the TVyNovelas awards, but Mi Marido should make a clean sweep of those.

RGV, if you get a chance, DA is wonderful in Amorcito Corazon--really at his best in comedy.

What's up with Marisol wearing a shrug even with 3/4 sleeves? Also, she seems more worried about Xavi than getting her and Frida a place to live.

Thank you for the recap, RgvChick!

Why was CatDQ spoon-feeding Hugo? And making airplane noises? Whaaaaat? Yeesh!

Daniel Arenas did a great job in his confrontation scene with Ana.

Thanks, Rgv Chick. I appreciate all the dialogue between Robert and Ana. At last, the truth is out. Great job by both actors.

So improbable, but I'm glad Julieta witnessed the confrontation. But she runs out of the store but can't catch up to Robert. What's up with that?

Not willing to be vexed, Blanca replies that just so he knows, her son is not upset with her; he invited her to go out…just RobPablo and herself.

Blanca so gets on my nerves. So here she's trying to make Eugenio jealous? Hey, Eugenio, tell her about all the alone time you and RobPablo have at the sauna. On the other hand, she and Imelda might try to barge in there.

That was wonderful RGV Chick! I very much liked the conversation your put down between Robert and Ana. She is so busted! And there Julieta was at the shop hearing this conversation. The right place at the right time!

I want more romance between Gabriel and Dani. They are so cute together.

Thanks for the recap. I enjoyed reading this as much as I did watching it. What an episode!

Robert's scene with Ana was one of my favorite scenes I have ever scene. He depicted the whole picture of the damage Ana caused through his words...how it louder, how some were whispered....the subtle cracks in his voice. It was very well done. It even made me tear up a bit when he started talking about how no child should ever think on New Year's Day - who are they? What did he do that made his family abandon him? A New Year represents happiness, a chance to start over, new beginnings but not for Robert....every new year was another year without a real family and without a real reason to what he did wrong. I liked that he mentioned his parents and how Ana destroyed them for 34 years. He highlights how Ana prevented Dani from growing up happy- and that really broke my heart.

It also made me more upset with Ana. "A mistake" she calls it. If it were a mistake why didn't she try right away to find him after she realized it was wrong. Why did it take her so long to realize she shouldn't have ripped JP away? She doesn't have a heart that's why....she thought she could bury herself in lies. If she really regretted it she would have tried harder not pretend to be the saint of the family. It's going to be a long path to forgiveness....if there is even a forgiveness.

I loved that Gabriel and Dani finally kissed. (I love that it was in caps haha. There should have been fireworks!) So much for going 5 km per hour HA! I also laughed really hard when they were interrupted. Poor Gabriel. He gets interrupted with everything.

I'm proud of Julieta for not interrupting and you could tell she was counting to herself to calm down. Even I wanted to just shove Ana away and give Robert a hug.

I like the moments between Blanca and Robert. I know she's annoying sometimes and she says things she shouldn't say but I feel like she is trying despite everything. I want to say that her criticism on his life in general and Julieta are because of Imelda and it's not entirely her fault. I think she tries to be reasonable but has tunnel vision due to living with Imelda for long. I know she deep down she just wants her son to be happy and that means accepting for him as he is and accepting his chosen life partner, Julieta, for who she is. She'll come around. Definitely before Imelda I'll say.
Can't wait for tonight!

-Jackie

Thanks, Doris, Niecie, Cynthia and Jackie for dropping by and sharing your thoughts.

Doris spoon feeding males is something this TN must endorse. Blanca has spoon fed Robert; Polita spoon fed Aris and now Cat spoon fed Hugo. Who's next? Xavi being spoon fed by Marisol?

Niecie, Blanca gets on my nerves too. I know she's been through a lot, but when she hugs Robert, she is the one that looks like a child needing a hug.

Cynthia, ITA about Gabi and Dani...can't wait for more kisses!

Jackie, Julieta showed so much restraint, but she has a good head on her shoulders and knew not to interrupt.

Niecie, why Julieta couldn't find Robert when she ran out is puzzling; surely she would have known that he would have gone back to the foundation. it was obvious that it was only a short distance from where they were.

Anxiously waiting for tonight!

Me, too!

Rgv Chick, thank you for an exceptional recap. Your dialog translations were so important, so powerful - thank you.

I'm sad that I missed last night (I think only the second one I've missed so far). One of the most pivotal episodes certainly.

My contempt for Ana has never waivered. My heart goes out to Robert who now must decide whether to hold such treachery close to his heart or to tell the whole sordid truth. I'm glad Julieta overheard the confrontation.

Although wonderful individuals, neither are as complete and strong separately. Robert and Julieta need to be together, to navigate the rocky road and sail the surging seas.

I am equally disappointed to miss any of the Gabi/Dani scenes.

Thank you commenters for your wise observations.

Thank you Rgv Chick, for the wonderful update.

Diana

Hope you're having some good quality time with your brother.
