Halimacandy- aside from all the annoying stuff her ex was doing lately like suggesting they keep Aurelio's money, he talked her into meeting with Leandro, but it turns out to be the big meeting with all to boycott the Mexicans, and, she was surprised to find out Raimundo was old buddies with Pastrana, who was there, which he had not disclosed, but the real kicker came when her and Rutila take cover before Aurelio crashes the place, they take along Leandro's girlfriends mother who was an old friend of Felina, she spilled on Raimundo, that after their son was killed, he went to work for the narco that killed him.

"EL SENOR DE LOS CIELOS":

Deb: Colon, Castillo & the female TV News Anchor finally tell Mayra, the Presidential Secretary about BPN involved with Daddy Casilas & the Drug Cartels.

HALIMACANDY: La Felina, Monica & Co., whack Ninon. Justice finally served for Pilar!

Not before the Corporal & his gang shoot La Felina, Monica, Ramon & Co., to death.

Plus, BPN & Doug Stamper 2.0 still upping the ante!

"EL SENOR DE LOS CIELOS":

The Corporal & his cronies (something tells me BPN is behind this) going after Daddy Casilas' Family.

Ishmael, Carmen, the kids, Ritula & Javier all in danger.

Plus, Daddy Casilas' Mommy is also in danger too.

"EL SENOR DE LOS CIELOS":

HALIMACANDY: Looks like Colon, Castillo, Mayra & the female TV News Anchor will be working together in Season 6 to bring down BPN (if either of them live to do it considering what we saw happen to Rivero & Garcia when they tried unsuccessfully to bring down BPN).

Deb: La Felina getting whacked by the Corporal like that was OMG! I just couldn't believe it, but I'm NOT shocked either because it was inevitable that something bad was going to happen.

However, at least La Felina got justice for her bestie, Pilar by doing all of us a favor & shooting Ninon to death!

I wonder how Ninon's son will find out about his Mommy's death because something tells me El Chema is coming back to get revenge on Daddy Casilas.

JENNI

What the #@%& happened to this series? Did the director walk off the show? The writers and the music director too? All along it’s been the most awesome thing I’ve seen – brilliant acting, terrific script, complex characters instead of the usual good/evil ones, movie-style production values.

And then just a few weeks ago it turned into crap. All of a sudden there was gushing background music, there were sitcom-style scenes (??!!) with doop-dee-doop sitcom music as background. The script turned into just Jenni’s staff or the family standing around listing ad infinitum things that happened off-screen (writers: remember it’s “show, don’t tell”). Then we had a death-bed scene that would win some kind of prize for the longest, most schlocky one in the history of telenovelas. I, like you, am the veteran of many telenovela deathbed scenes, but this one took the cake. FF. And then there was the also the worst boda ever. The characters were paraded out solemnly one by one in their nice outfits and hairdos, with a very soft prom-slow-dance kind of background music. It was so soft, in fact, that I couldn’t tell if it was in English or Spanish. How is it that the Riveras, who lived and breathed music, had no musicians at Jenni’s big wedding? C’mon, at least grab some mariachis or something. Bodas need loud, joyful music. Did the production run out of money?

I haven’t been following comments on Caray – has this been discussed?

Well, at least last night’s episode was a bit better. On the whole, though, it’s become painful to watch and I’m just sticking with it because I’ve spent months on it already. Might as well see it through

Halimacandy -

I get you! It’s the sudden drop from a serious artistic effort to pap which is disheartening. I do love a bio series, but the ones Univision makes are heavily sentimentalized and telenovela-like. Telemundo seems to be shooting for really high-quality productions, or so I thought. Celia was an eye-popping effort that kinda fell apart when they did the age jump, as the replacement cast wasn’t as superior as the first cast, except for the lead who was equally brilliant. Of course Celia was heavily fictionalized. And then came Jenni, another sophisticated production, even better. Sanitized, yes, as Jenni could be a Very Bad Girl when she got riled up and they toned that down.

I have loved the music, Jenni’s music, throughout. But the introduction of the loud swelling background music from presumably the production orchestra is just awful. Up until recently, the music was very understated. The whole thing feels like some other team has taken over and just destroyed what has been a very classy production. I feel sorry for the actors, who must be very unhappy about the change.

And some of the new actors aren’t quite up to the task. The ones playing Esteban, his mother, and Jenni’s youngest daughter are very wooden. But that happens. It’s unusual to have an entire cast excel

"EL SENOR DE LOS CIELOS":

Maggie: Lots of people on Facebook & other Social Media are pissed after what happened to Monica & La Felina including Ramon (Monica's loyal friend).

"SIN SENOS":

Maggie: Yesica seems hell-bent on destroying Catalina's family.

What's her problem ?

deb,

Thanks very much for the info about the upcoming "Sangre de mi Tierra." I haven't been watching any novelas lately, but this one sounds promising.

"EL SENOR DE LOS CIELOS":

Juanita: Did you watch the Gran Final of the 5th Season on Thursday ?
