Marisol walks into Dani’s
workshop accompanied by Blanca. After Blanca gives Linda and Dani a big hug, she
tells them she missed them so much; Dani and Linda missed her too. Blanca asks
them to forgive her for leaving, but she had to do it. When Mari tells her that
she is needed in every corner of the house; Blanca replies that she needs them
in every corner of her soul. As she told them in the letter, she loves them and
they have nothing to do with the situation. Dani assures her that they
understand and won’t reproach her for anything; Blanca can count on them. When
Blanca tells them how important their support is, Linda wonders how many more
days it’ll be before she returns, but Blanca doesn’t know. She assures them she
will try to hurry…put everything she is feeling and thinking in order; there
are too many things. Blanca asks them to take care of their grandmother, their
father, and her granddaughter. When she tells them that she knows she isn’t
perfect, but she is striving to be a better woman and a better mother for them,
Dani urges her to do it for herself; she has given them everything. Mari adds
that Blanca has always supported them and she deserves it. After Blanca tells
them she wants to be stronger for each one of them, Dani has something to tell
her; her dream was realized. Dani then takes out her engagement ring and puts
it on as she tells Blanca that Gabriel proposed to her. Blanca jumps with joy
and hugs Dani. Blanca shouts, “What joy! You deserve to be happy, daughter; you
deserve to be loved.” As she looks at her three daughters, she tells them that
the three of them deserve it; that is what she asks God for the most. Blanca
cries as she tells them to strive to have a happy life and to not stop being
themselves. They hug as Blanca tells them she loves them.
In Eugenio’s bedroom,
Eugenio is ironing as Dani tells him he can count on them. Linda adds that they
want things to be well between him and their mother. When Eugenio tells them
that he would go for Blanca right now, Mari tells him that there are many
things that aren’t right; Dani adds that their mother needs time. When Linda
mentions that they know about his debts for the bakery, Eugenio wonders who
told them; so Mari tells him she found out by chance. Linda assures him he
isn’t alone; he has three daughters that love him and will look out for him.
When Eugenio insists that he has to solve this because he is the man of the
house, Dani replies that they are not doubting that, but he needs more hands and
he has eight arms to resolve their problems together.
In the hallway, Tulio
sneers that Robert’s mother is not the only one leaving from here because he is
going to get them all out. Robert grabs and pushes Tulio against the wall
yelling, “I am not going to allow you to continue threatening my family.” Juls
comes out calling to Robert, but he continues, “Isn’t it enough with all that
you have done to us!” As his sisters and father come out of their home, Tulio
angrily asks, “What are you going to do? Beat me?”
Robert snaps back, “Never
expect that from me, so get out!” Eugenio then chides, “You are destroying our
lives again…just as you did many years ago! Have some mercy on us!” When Tulio
shouts, “Ana’s life is also being destroyed!” Dani shouts back, “And why are we
to blame for that! First you took our brother; then you took our mother!” Linda
adds, “Why is it our fault that you all are so miserable?” When Robert releases
Tulio, Tulio mocks, “It’s good that you remain united as a family. That way all
of you can work more to pay me. Tomorrow I want an advance; so be thinking
about where you all will be going. ” Robert lunges at Tulio, but Juls holds him
back. After Tulio leaves, Juls asks Robert if he thinks they can get an advance
from the bank; Robert hopes so. He will go to the bank tomorrow to see what can
be done. Robert assures Eugenio that no one is going to take them out of the
building.
At Belén’s house, Amalia
shows her sisters the dress she will wear for the contest and asks them what
they were talking about. Blanca confides that she is not sure she is doing the
right thing. She was greatly affected when she saw her daughters and she
doesn’t want them to suffer.
In the Córsega kitchen,
Imelda is boiling water for her tea as she tells Frida she is quickly going to
the restroom. When she leaves, Frida looks at some jars on the top shelf above
the stove; so she gets a chair and climbs onto the counter. As she steps over
the stove and reaches for the jar, she falls to the floor yelling out. Just
then Marisol and the others enter hearing Frida yell. Mari runs to Frida asking
if she got burned, but Frida explains that she wanted to help her great
grandmother make some tea. Imelda then comes in and helps Frida to the chair;
she tells the girls to go for Juan Pablo.
At Belén’s, Blanca tells
Belén that she wants to contribute to the house while she stays there, but
Belén tells her not to worry; this is her house. As Blanca then suggests she
help out at the store and Belén refuses again, Belén sees the notepad and asks
about it; so Blanca tells her Juls gave it to her. When Blanca tells her it’s
where she is to write everything she wants in her life, Belén asks to read it,
but Blanca doesn’t want her to; Blanca needs her privacy and to make sure
everything in it is clear. Belén understands; and she truly hopes Blanca
accomplishes everything.
At the Córsega kitchen,
Robert checks Frida and tells her she is fine; and thank goodness it wasn’t
worse. He then sternly tells the family that they need to be more careful. Most
burns happen in the home; boiling water is very dangerous. He tells Frida she
shouldn’t get near the stove, especially when there isn’t an adult with her.
When he continues that many people have suffered severe burns that have
disfigured them, Imelda blames herself, but Robert points out that children and
kitchens are not the best of friends. He then tells them about all the dangers
there are around the house. When Linda interjects that he is acting like a grumpy
teacher, Robert argues that this is very serious. He explains to Frida that he
is only doing this because he loves her. Mari then takes Frida to her bedroom
and cries that she got very scared; she thought Frida had burned or hurt
herself. When Frida asks her not to cry, Mari feels that she has stopped paying
attention to Frida and asks Frida to forgive her since she is involved with so
many other things. She feels she is not spending the time with Frida that she
deserves. Frida tells Mari she understands and is sorry she was rude to her the
other day. Frida understands that Mari has to work. When Mari tells her she
would still like to spend more time with her, Frida shares what Daphne has been
teaching her, but Mari needs Frida to know that she is the most important thing
in her life. As Imelda listens, Mari tells Frida that she is working to be the
best mother that she deserves. Even though Mari goes from one place to another,
Frida can always count on her; she will always leave everything for her. Mari
continues to tell Frida how important she is and that she loves her. She then
asks Frida to tell her whenever Frida wants to talk to her, play with her,
etc.; Frida nods.
Later in their bed,
Robert brings up that they were not able to talk about the topic of a baby
earlier. Juls knows that she can’t have a baby; and she never believed in the
awakening of a maternal instinct, but she does now, especially after carrying a
life inside her. Robert doesn’t want her to feel bad...having her always by his
side will be enough for him. After he tells her they don’t need to have
children to be happy, they hug.
In her bed, Blanca writes
in her notepad as she looks at Juan Pablo’s little red sweater. She gets up and
gets the sweater holding it up and smiling. Meanwhile, Robert is asleep and
dreams of himself as a child screaming out for his mother, then suddenly wakes
up.
Back at Belén’s, Blanca walks to the kitchen and stares at a bowl of
strawberries as she recalls telling her
husband she is craving strawberries. She remembers seeing Eugenio as he yells
that she doesn’t deserve them. Blanca cries as she reaches for a
strawberry, but pulls back her hand. As she stands there looking at the
strawberries, she forces herself to take a strawberry and bites into it as she continues
to cry. As she eats the strawberry and cries, Belén walks in. When Belén asks
what’s wrong, Blanca shares that it has been more than 30 years since she has
eaten strawberries. Belén recalls that they were her favorite since she was a
child. Blanca then shares that when they lost Juan Pablo, Eugenio blamed her for
years and started punishing her. He prohibited her from doing many things she
liked, like eating strawberries. When Blanca wonders why she allowed it, Belén thinks
it was because Blanca blamed herself. As Blanca cries and nods, Belén says it
was also because she felt guilty for losing Juan Pablo. Blanca admits that she
punished herself.
Next
day—
At the bakery, Eugenio is
struggling in pain as he pulls a cart of bread trays. Xavi goes to him
concerned, but Eugenio tells him he can do it. Eugenio then chides Xavi for
telling his daughters about the problems at the bakery…and he’d better not tell
them that he has not been feeling well. Xavi replies that there is nothing
wrong with them knowing and wanting to help him. Eugenio makes it clear that
those are things that he needs to handle; he is the man of the house! As
Eugenio leans over to pull out a tray, he gets a pain and drops some rolls.
Xavi quickly goes to help pick them up, but Eugenio shouts that he can do it;
so Xavi walks away as Eugenio groans in pain and grabs his leg. He continues to
try to pull the cart saying, “I can” while he grimaces in pain.
At Belén’s, Blanca is
making her bed when Belén and Amalia come in and tell her she shouldn’t be
doing that. Blanca realizes that what bothers her is that no one acknowledged
the simple things she would do, like having breakfast served every day. The
kitchen is a place of struggle that is not recognized; they think we don’t do
anything all day. Amalia then reminds them that today is the big day…she wants
Belén to help her with the costume and Blanca to help with the make-up. Blanca
wonders why Amalia would want her to do her make-up since she doesn’t wear any
make-up. As Amalia tells her she has a perfect complexion to inspire her, the
doorbell rings. Blanca quickly opens the door when she realizes it’s Robert who
brings flowers with him. As they hug, Robert gets teary-eyed and tells Blanca
he promised himself he wouldn’t get emotional, but he can’t avoid it. As he
gives her the flowers, he tells her that last night he recalled that they would
smell those flowers together. When Blanca complains about him spending, Robert
tells her they are just a gift to show her that she deserves all the flowers in
the world. Blanca smiles and tells him she would love to see his face when he
smelled the flowers; and as Robert sneezes, Blanca continues that he would also
sneeze. When Robert invites her to breakfast, Blanca agrees; so she goes to
tell her sisters. After Belén gives her the keys to the house, Amalia asks that
she go pick them up after work. Blanca agrees.
At Juls apartment, Juls
is on the phone with Luz and tells her she will go visit Dave then go to the
office. After she hangs up, she asks Bruno what he is doing; so he replies that
he is working on some assignments for Aris. Juls is glad that he has his mind
occupied on things other than Linda.
As they walk, Robert
tells Blanca they can go have breakfast wherever she wants; he asked for the
whole morning off to be with her. When Blanca wonders if he missed her, he
replies, “Of course!” Robert then asks if Blanca is angry with him since he
kept the truth from her, but Blanca assures him she isn’t…he was the main
victim.
At the bakery, Eugenio
imagines Blanca smiling beside him and misses her very much. When he imagines
her throwing dough down angrily, he even misses that too.
As they continue to walk,
Blanca shares that she fell in love with his father because he won her heart.
When Robert asks how his father made her fall in love with him, she starts the
story. She used to work at the post office…not to brag, but she was very
pretty. She would always arrive early and his father would pass by with fresh
bread and bring a letter every day. She recalls—Eugenio arrived at the post office on his bicycle greeting her with “a
very good morning.” He wondered when the day would come when he could address
Blanca informally. He handed her bread that was just made. Blanca tells him
that she would prefer that they maintain their distance, she’s not saying it
because of him’ it is just the appropriate thing to do. Furthermore, she is
very embarrassed that he comes all this way. Eugenio does it with much
affection. He will come every day as long as life permits. Today he wrote a
letter, a poem that he titled ‘I hope that someday, in her eyes, she will see
me in a different way.’ As he hands her the letter, their hands touch and she
thanks him. Blanca tells Robert his father was more charming, sweeter…but
he forgot about all those nice gestures. Blanca
then tells Robert about the notepad Juls gave her and its purpose. Today she
wrote several more things, but she admits she also has many faults, such as
wanting to stop being a gossip. When Robert tells her she isn’t a gossip, Blanca
knows she is, but she doesn’t do it with bad intentions; she just wants to keep
an eye on everything so she can be of help. She then thinks about being
intrusive, imprudent; and when she thinks of being controlling, Blanca thinks
that is the word that best describes her; she wants to have everything under
control to know that he and his sisters are well…and she always ends up putting her foot where it doesn’t belong. She needs to write all those things down
in her notepad so she can work on them. When Blanca asks Robert to forgive her
if she has been too overbearing or rude, she swears that she has done
everything out of love. Robert looks at her affectionately and kisses her hand, then
her forehead.
At Ana’s, Tulio and Audi
discuss Ana who is not doing well. Tulio can’t see an end to what is happening
to her. When Audi mentions that, from what he has observed since he has been
there, their problems with the family are a result of them not having a child
and asks if Tulio has thought of adoption, Tulio glares at him.
As Gabriel arrives at his
apartment building, he encounters two men in black who reveal the two
hermonsters in black.
Gabriel wonders if there is an insect or an extraterrestrial
in his apartment. When he asks why they are there, Cassandra mocks that his
jokes keep getting worse and tells him to hand over the keys to his apartment.
After Gabriel asks under whose orders, Augusto walks out in his devil-red
jacket and declares it is his order. Gabriel complains that this is a violation
of his rights, Augusto reminds him that Augusto bought the apartment and asks
for the keys…or he can keep the keys as a souvenir; he cannot live there
anymore.
At Xavi’s flat, Mari
tells him about Frida’s accident and how scared Mari was. Before she leaves to
go take Frida to get on the bus, Mari tells Xavi that she will return so they
can practice an idea for the video. Xavi then stands and tells Mari that he
will assume the consequences for what he is about to do, but he can hold back
any longer…he grabs her by the waist pulling her to him and gives a very
passionate, prolonged kiss. As they kiss, Frida jumps in and sees them; she
gets upset and runs out, so Mari runs after her.
At Gabriel’s apartment
building, Gabriel reminds his father that he should get credit for all he has
done…the time he invested in working and all the money he made for his father,
but his father points out that he was getting a salary. Augusto insists that
the apartment was one of the benefits. Cassandra complains that Gabriel needs
to hurry and understand because she wants to get out of the black outfit, she
feels all tied up. Augusto continues that Gabriel no longer works for him, so
it only makes sense that he lose everything handed for him. When he gives
Gabriel the option of paying a very high rent or taking his things, Gabriel
responds that Augusto has no idea who he is talking to. Gabriel is not going to
allow himself to be humiliated. When Augusto tells him he can then take his
things, Gabriel retorts that he can make it on his own…and he will do it very
well. Augusto then tells Gabriel he hopes he doesn’t end up in a roof flat, so
Gabriel throws the keys at his father and walks out.
In Mari’s bedroom, Mari
assures Frida, who is standing with her arms crossed, that she will never lie
to her; Mari will tell Frida what she feels and hopes Frida understands. Mari
explains that without expecting it, she came to love Xavi in a very special
way, but if Frida does not approve, Mari will forget that forever. When Frida
asks if Mari loves Xavi very much and tells Mari that she likes Xavi very much,
Mari wonders if Frida isn’t upset, but Frida replies that she knew this would
happen because they are always together; they smile at each other…Xavi is kind
and so is Mari. Mari then confides that she had wanted to talk to her about
this. Frida knows that, at school, there are many parents who get a divorce and
find love elsewhere. Mari wonders when Frida grew up so fast, she is the most
intelligent child Mari has ever known, but she doesn’t want Frida to feel
confused…Mari and her father are over. Frida then shares that, in therapy, she
has learned that Mari can have another chance. Frida feels good when Xavi takes
care of them, so Mari shouldn’t be afraid.
At the orphanage, the
director tells a couple that David is needs a home. He is a very special child
with many qualities…and he likes to paint. After Dave confirms that he likes to
paint, the lady asks if she can say something, so the director asks Dave to
leave them alone. Dave walks out, but stands by the door listening as the lady
tells the director that Dave is not the child they are looking for. The
director understands it’s not easy to adopt a burned child, but they knew David
had suffered an accident. The lady replies that they don’t want a child with
problems, everyone will reject him. A sad and disappointed Dave continues to listen.
Still walking in a park,
Robert reminds Blanca of the time he told her that the lost little boy would
never return. That day he also told her they would need to get to know each
other and establish a new relationship. After getting to know her, it’s
impossible not to accept that his search and waiting was worth it. Blanca feels
the same way, but has not stopped being afraid that she is not enough for him.
Robert wants her to never say that again…she is everything to him. Looking into
her eyes, Robert is sure of something. As he holds her face tenderly, Robert
tells her, “I love you. I love you, Mother.”
At the orphanage, Dave
sits by himself on a bench. As he sees Juls walking up the sidewalk, he runs to
her calling out, “Mamá!” Juls looks around wondering who he is yelling at, but
Dave runs and hugs her saying, “Mamá!” When Juls wonders what is wrong, Dave
continues to call her “mama.” Juls is very touched, but worried.
At the park, Blanca
confides that she has always been waiting to hear those words from him. As she
cries, Blanca thanks him for saying it and for giving her such a wonderful
present. Robert doesn’t want her to cry; he just wants her to feel the love he
has for her and has been growing every day that he knows her. Blanca cries that
she is trying to improve…to be less of a gossiper…rude and criticizing; though
Robert loves her for who she is…for her struggle, her devotion and faith in
continuing to search and wait for him. When he asks that she forgive him for
not telling her about Ana, Blanca tries to tell him why she left home, but
Robert knows she needed to do it. He doesn’t want her to worry. He will take
care of his father and look out for his sisters and his grandmother. When he
tells her to continue writing in her notepad, Blanca smiles and nods. Robert
wants her to be who she always wanted to be.
At the orphanage, Juls
sits with Dave and asks why he called her “mama.” Dave replies that is what he
felt. When Juls tells him it’s not a good idea that he call her “mama” because he
will find a family who will love him, Dave tells her they want a child that
functions well, not one that is broken. Juls reminds him that he is unique. As
she tells him not to say that again, she tickles him and tells him she will be
the one to get him undone. They play for a while as they smile and giggle
together.
At Ana’s, Audi tells
Tulio about Dave who broke his heart and needs a home. He wonders if adopting a
child wouldn’t help Tulio and Ana. As Audi leaves, Tulio remains pensive.
At the orphanage, Juls
tells Dave that she is sure he will have an adoptive mother very soon, but Dave
thinks no one will smell as good as Juls. Juls assures Dave that the adoptive
mom will help him grow, just as Robert did. She explains she is there only to
accompany him as he lives through this. When Dave wonders if she isn’t upset,
Juls assures him she isn’t, she was just surprised. She loves him very much and
that is why she needs to be honest with him. After, Carmelo, the director,
approaches, Dave knows what he is going to say—they don’t want him because he is
burned…and he isn’t his scars, he has already memorized that. When Juls asks
who said those things, Carmelo confides that there was a couple that was
interested in meeting Dave, but he already talked to them.
As they have lunch, the
hermonsters worry about where Gabo is going to live, but Augusto insists that
Gabriel has to face all the consequences so he can learn his lesson. Augusto
wants them to put the apartment up for rent; he doesn’t think Gabriel will be
able to live a life of deprivation.
At the bakery, Mari tells
Xavi that she already talked to Frida and feels she is the one that is more
confused. She didn’t think Frida would takes things so calmly. When Mari tells
him that Frida expected it, Xavi tells her he loves Frida and is in love with
Mari. He thinks they don’t have to wait very long; he won’t pressure her, he
wants to work more than ever now so they can be proud of him. Mari then
remembers they have an appointment; she was able to obtain a studio for two
days. As Xavi leaves, Linda tells Dani that the money they collected is not
enough to cover everything, but Dani thinks they can give an advance to keep
the suppliers satisfied. Linda hopes they don’t get kicked out of the
building…that’s all she would need to be called the “Queen of Rejection.”
As Linda walks out, Bruno
waits and walks with her. They chitchat about what they are doing that day.
When Bruno tells her he wants to take some courses so he can be somebody, Linda
thinks he is already many things. Bruno thought she was angry with him, but
Linda tells him she still likes him. They kiss; and he hugs her as he tells
her, “I love you.” Linda is ecstatic.
At the bakery, Dani asks
Mari how things are going with Xavi. After Mari tells Dani she can’t deny it
anymore and makes her swear not to say anything, Dani swears and tells Mari it
was obvious. Mari blushes and is all smiles.
At school, Aris sits with
Frida who thinks growing up is strange. When she asks if things are easier or
more difficult when one grows up, Aris replies that he thinks they get more
difficult; so Frida wonders, “Why grow up?” After Aris responds that they grow
to learn, the bell rings so they tell each other they love each other.
At Ana’s, Tulio gives Ana
something to drink as he suggests they adopt a child. He knows they have many
problems as a couple, but he loves her and doesn’t want to lose her. Ana thinks
they already have too many problems; it’s too late. Ana was thinking quite the
contrary; the best thing is to get a divorce. Tulio pleads that they still have
a chance. They can adopt and give their love to a child. He then tells Ana
about Dave. Tulio wants Ana to think about it; it could be their salvation.
At Cklass, Luz tells Juls
that she has every right to change her mind; there is nothing wrong with
wanting to be a mother. Juls thinks it’s one thing to want to be a mother, but
another to actually be a mother. When Luz mentions that there are alternative ways
to have children and offers to get her information on a fertility specialist,
Juls doesn’t want to go through all the trouble others have gone through just
to get pregnant. Luz suggests she doesn’t have to tell Robert right away, but
Juls doesn’t like to keep things from Robert; and she doesn’t want to risk
having false hopes. When Luz mentions that the worst risk is the one not take,
Juls somewhat agrees. She then calls Robert to inform him she is going to the
hospital to see a fertility specialist. Robert is taken aback and remains
quiet, but then tells her he with more reason, he wants to go with her. When
Juls asks him to allow her to see the doctor on her own since she needs space,
Robert agrees, but wants to talk about it later. After Juls agrees and hangs
up, she tells Luz that if she gets to overexcited, Luz needs to slow her down.
Luz agrees.
Eugenio lays against his
bed as Robert goes for him to take him to therapy. After Eugenio complains
about getting up, he wonders if Blanca has forgotten that he exists, but Robert
insists that right now they worry about Eugenio and pulls Eugenio up. Eugenio
wants Robert to force his mother to return just as he is forcing him to get up.
As Blanca slowly drives
along, another driver complains; so Blanca yells back at him. She continues and
almost gets hit, so she yells at that driver too. Meanwhile, at the contest,
Belén helps Amalia get dressed. Amalia doesn’t want Belén to pressure her; she
can’t be stressed today.
At Cklass, Linda walks
into Julieta’s office without being announced, so Juls complains, but gives her
two minutes. Linda knows she hasn’t lived up to her name with Juls, but she
doesn’t want to continue fighting with Juls. Juls reminds Linda that Linda has
told her to her face that Linda doesn’t like her. When Linda wonders if they
can leave that in the past, Juls refuses because she feels the exact same way
about Linda. Linda insists that she wants to try. Linda wants to win over
Julieta’s heart so Juls can leave her and Bruno in peace. Linda will be happy Bruno and she will allow
Juls to be happy with the family…everyone will be happy. Juls refuses; she
won’t change her mind and adds, “I don’t like you. I don’t want you in my
brother’s life, much less as his girlfriend; so leave…good luck.” Linda gets
up, goes to the door, turns to smirk at Juls and slams the door.
Later, Juls presents the
spring line to the Cklass employees. She gives them instructions on what needs
to be done. Afterwards, Juls leaves the Cklass building as she bumps into Aldo
who is carrying a baby. Aldo was one of Julieta’s boyfriends with whom she
broke up at a café. When she asks about the baby, Aldo tells her it is his son. Aldo then drops the baby bottle and needs to pick it up, so he asks Juls to hold
the baby. Juls gladly takes the baby and smiles as she enjoys holding and coddling
the baby.
