His is so bummed that he goes to visit an old pothead friend, that chick is blowing so much weed and lighting joints back to back…and the contact -high, makes his pee dirty!!
And Detective, Susan is pissed off about it. she puts him on blast.,

While the family gathers to celebrate his home coming ,Roberto has a meltdown. and breaks out their big bow-window

He ends up in jail and Natalia is fit to be tied.
Never-the-less,they help him make bail and I think they drop the charges, Roberto lied through his teeth and Natalia ... is livid... …. ‘regrets my ass’!!’

Aurora goes into labor when drunk-as-a-skunk, Roberto decides to show his ass.


AFTER Juanjo gets out and tries to get adjusted to freedom and survive the Post Traumatic Stress syndrome…
He has community service and Susan monitoring him.
He realizes he need Aurora is live!!



Aurora is recuperating from labor. A dangerous one. Old folks say:
‘Childbirth, when -you-have- one- foot in- the- grave and one foot on the earth…. And she is pissed at Robert for not being there. but she is not conscious of it yet...

The baby is big and fat and Robert’s parents just love-him!!

Robert tells Aurora abt the big career move, Too bad ??!!

Juanjo is getting his life together.
And his dad is registering him for wine certification.
Ok, we see where this is going, why not? Because, all Juanjo, is doing now, is cleaning trucks!!

However, he has a plan, and is stashing his dough to pull it off,

Being a dope dealer in jail helps ,you put things in perspective and as well as getting organized!!

I HOPE TO GOODNESS HE IS GONNA BUY NATALIA’S LAND BACK!!!

Big momma is not happy abt ,Aurora and the baby moving.

But dig this slick move... she tells Aurora, it is all abt the husband’s wishes coming first!!

Wow, thanks HALIMACANDY, for the multiple recaps. I love your take on Meche. I feel more sympathetic to her, but you're right about her passive-aggressive manipulation of Crisanto. And as we know, she and he will probably live to regret it.

Roberto plays Crisanto like a musical instrument. First, he sneaks into Crisanto's study and finds a letter Crisanto wrote to his lawyer saying he agrees with him and will NOT make Roberto a partner ("socio") in the business. Then Roberto starts talking again about Australia, and shows everyone a letter with the fantastic offer they've made: $150,000 per year salary, house, car, school for Emilito, yada yada yada. To keep Roberto, Aurora, and, especially, Emilito here and not in Australia, Cris decides to split up the shares in the company. He and Meche will keep 25% each, and the remaining 50% will be shared equally by Aurora, Paloma, Leonardo, Emilito, and...Roberto. Duh.

I wondered why the guy who gave Roberto the letter spoke English with a very UN-Australian accent. We soon find out why. He wasn't representing the Australian company, he was paid by Roberto to impersonate a representative, and Roberto pays him and compliments him on his Oscar-deserving acting. We also see Roberto contact the jefe of the Australian company and be told that Roberto's former employer, Mr. Rosso, spoke about financial problems involving Roberto. Roberto says he can explain, but the jefe tells him he needn't bother: he's already hired a new engineer. Have a nice day. Bye bye.

And if this weren't enough for Roberto to deal with, he also finds that Aurora is teaching a sumiller course, which I assume is a course to teach someone how to be a sommelier (a wine expert who help restaurants and their patrons choose wines). I think Serena is in the course, and so too is Juanjo, who forked over $15K from his savings to pay for it. Roberto goes crazy with jealousy and screams at Aurora, sure that all this is a deliberate plan.

So Roberto is not just insanely jealous, he's also a crook. Who'd a thunk it?

Wow....another interesting epi and thanks to Halimacandy for the heavy lifting on the recap.

I don't recall who said it very early on....but they nailed it when they said Rob was no good. I knew he would turn out to be a jealous jerk but his level of deceit and conniving...I did not see coming. Can't wait for Merche and Chris to get their bubbles burst about him. It would serve them right to have him take all their lands and they have to go groveling to Nat and Paco....and Juan for help. And Chris has used the land to tie his family to him...he will so deserve to get taken to the cleaners for trusting an outsider Vs Aurora who's proven her abilities.

Serena's dad is a jerk. Not so for not helping her with his money.... but for the way he turned her down and is his weak council and lack of concern and support for her efforts. And, I wouldn't be surprised if HE showed up at her place of employment...what would he say then.

what that some random guy making eyes at Serena while she danced...or did she know him. Interesting that the bar owner told her he didn't care if she got close to the patrons....probably cause he wants a cut. And as a bar owner.....he knows he's gonna have trouble time from time.

One more thing. Once Aurora found out who the flowers came from...she should have told Rob immediately. It wouldn't have stopped him from being an idiot whenever he sees Juan....but at least he wouldn't have the excuse of the flowers to harass Juan.

Poloma was on it....when she checked Rob about going thru Aurora's phone. And if Auroa hadn't seen a red flag before.....Rob's outburst over checking her phone should have been it. And even when she does finally see it....Rob will have robbed her family blind and she will be stuck to him because of the land.....just like daddy likes it.

thanks Halimacandy, Juanita, and Nett for putting together the whole story, I was amazed at how fast they rolled out the dark side of Roberto all in one lump, (missing funds in Argentina) which really adds to the annoying guy we already knew him as, being a novela I don't suppose he will get run over by a bus, er... be exposed anytime soon.

if only Aurora hadn't followed him to Argentina...

Halimacandy, I think Anita (berated by Natalia but then apologized to) is Luis Montiel's wife, (is he the son of Natalia and Paco, or..., he does all the work and everybody seems to ignore him), and the stripper is Serena, wife of the dead Emilio, who was taking a pole dancing class ?? when the bar owner showed up looking for new talent, his number one point with a dancer messing around with the clients is he wants Zero trouble for the bar, other than that he didn't care, and now she has a date with a guy that liked her dancing, hmm, why would this ever be good, and Paloma who thinks the flowers were for her also got a poem on her windshield, from a stalker, right, and she thinks it's romantic.

I thought that (other son) Montiel was the son of Natalia and Paco, and Juanjo is Paco's son by an earlier relationship. Natalia has certainly softened over the years. Good. That family is going to need her.

Roberto has quickly moved from annoying, needing, insecure little twit, to evil little twit. But what does he really get from his shares? A bit of money, but that's it. He could murder Aurora for her bit, and the other son's (name I also can't remember- poor second sons) doesn't really care about wine so would give up his shares, but Paloma has Roberto's number. She may not care about wine either, but she's stubborn enough to not give in to him just to irritate him. Good for her. I like Paloma. The family needs her.

I hope Cris realizes someday that this is mostly his fault. If he hadn't been such a chauvinistic jerk, then maybe Aurora would have been able to stay in CA (We're in California, right?). Or at least realize that she didn't need to depend on Roberto for a job; she would have been fine on her own. He should suffer, but not too much because Meche is good people. But just enough to know he was way wrong.

Nice to see a discussion group for Sangre. My first novela in 3 years and without english subtitles. No real likable characters at the moment ( all main characters are annoying) and the writers appear to be rushing through the backstory...

deb, I assumed that the poem Paloma found was left by Jordan, who had told her he loved her and pleaded with her not to leave. I thought he was trying to win her back. A poem like that from a total stranger would be pretty weird. Then again....

Kelly...totally agree with you. I wont Chris to realize, suffer and agonize about the black cloud he's bringing over his family... all to spite Juan and his family. I'm not minimizing Juan's role in the accident but the death of Emilio was the fault of the hospital. Chris and Merche's misplaced anger, and underhanded deeds toward Juan will ultimately cause them the land and possibly their family.

I'm digging the spunky but spoiled Paloma.....mainly because she not only sees thru Rob but she lets him know it. And she's trying to get Aurora to be true to herself. I just hope Paloma doesn't get hurt by Rob...or her stalker.....for her efforts.

And looks like Paloma's little pep talk with Aurora worked. Aurora let Rob know he can't keep blaming her for something she hasn't done.....yet.

It was good for Juan to vent to Serena and remind her how he was hurt by everything that happened and how so called friends blamed and abandoned him with the accident.

I'm still getting these families mixed up. I heard Emilio referred to as Serena's boyfriend last night so I guess they were not married, so her relation to the Castañeda family is her work there plus her father Dimas Zambrano, is a long time friend and worker.

Luis, and I think it's his wife, is Anita Carmona

Leonardo Castañeda has a girl friend, but I don't know her name, and the guy who punched Victor I think is related to the family also.

Mike is the director/president/?? of MAWA which I think means Mexican American Wine growers Association.

Roberto crumpled up Aurora's invite to the MAWA wine tasting and threw it in the garbage, evil, evil, evil,... brat, as used in the english cc's by Cris is a pretty good description of him, so Aurora decides to teach the course and go to the tasting alone to spite Roberto, not always a good way to make decisions, love the way she gets all pumped up and speechless when she sees Juanjo, quietly trying to convince herself she is not head over heels in love with him, hmm... Serena and Juanjo will be studying together, is this ok, Serena asks?

if Roberto learns of Cris's extracurricular activities with Kimberly (did he really buy her a car), he'll own the place, boo.

I like Susan but maybe she should be the sheriff of the next county over, a punch to Victor (new guy hired by Roberto who is married to another guy), becomes a hate crime, becomes a felony, and Leonardo did nothing but try to stop it.

so Dimas and Cris do the book keeping, some even hand written in pencil with changes.

Many thanks, Nett and deb, for your terrific comments/mini-recaps. I had a hard time understanding a lot last night, and your remarks really helped me.

I didn't have much use for Paloma at the start of the novela, but I'm liking her more and more, especially in her handling of Roberto and her advice to Aurora. Nett, I too hope she won't be hurt by Roberto. But this being a telenovela, what are the chances that she'll emerge unscathed?

Roberto becomes more and more insufferable, and not just to Aurora. He's contemptuous of Crisanto's running of the business (although he still has to suck up to him as his father-in-law). Moreover, when Dimas answers the phone in the office and says he's sorry, he doesn't speak English, Roberto pulls the phone away from him, speaks in English to the person calling, and then orders Dimas not to answer the phone from now on. Dimas tells Cris that Roberto es un creído, i.e., he's arrogant, conceited, full of himself. You got that right, Dimas, but that ain't the half of it.

I was a little confused by the scene where Roberto removes the invitation from Aurora's purse, crumples it up, and throws it in the trashcan. Soon after, Dimas hands her what looks like an uncrumpled envelope, supposedly containing the invitation. I somehow expected that she would see it was empty, but no, it apparently contained the invitation. ???

Interesting situation developing with Serena/Juanjo/Aurora. Juanjo warns Serena not to trust the guy from the bar that she thinks she likes. Of course, she doesn't listen, and on their first date the guy tries to rape her. Juanjo must have been following them because of his distrust, and he comes to her rescue just in time. He tells her he did it because he cares for her (te quiero), she's his best friend, and he did it also for Emilio. Hmmm... Then he and Serena arrange to study with each other for the sumiller course. Serena tells Aurora, and she asks Aurora whether this is OK with her. L-o-n-g pause.

Juanita- Dimas is like the do everything guy as in probably the janitor as well, was he there to clean up, and I think he noticed the invitation in the trashcan and straightened it out to see what it was.

odd that Juanjo, having completed his parole gets talked into going out, and his girlfriends take him to a strip joint, what? and wait they know Serena, what? Serena makes him promise not to tell anyone, (the Castañeda group think she is driving Miss Daisy, not too original.

and as she danced Juanjo overheard her date bragging to a friend, "I took her out to a nice restaurant, let her order what ever she wanted and let her choose her own expensive wine, with nothing in return, but tonight she will pay me back".

Anyone want to bet that Leonardo turns out to be gay? Or have you all watched enough of these to know better? I suppose it's possible that he's just sensitive enough to be affected by what Paloma told him (and more points to her for telling him off- that year living in a trailer probably did her some good), and he's really sorry about not standing up for Victor. But I think he's gay, which will not be good for him given his neanderthal of a father.

He bought Kimberly a car? Does she not have a job?? Jeez, Cris. What an idiot. Roberto will definitely be using this as blackmail, which will be stupid on Cris's part since Meche already suspects him. Jerk.

I was worried about Serena's father leaving that stove on. After Roberto starting playing with the stove, I'm more concerned that the place will burn down and Dimas will get blamed, by Roberto first of all. Finger's crossed.

Yeah. I see Rob setting Serena, her had and a whole slew of other people up....to get what he wants and to cover his but. I think he's going to get what he wants in automating their book keeping...and with that, he can do what ever he wants because Chris has shown that he's unwilling to learn a new way and will feel intimidated by anything that's spit out of a computer. Aurora and Paloma will be distracted or forced to stay away from the finances so they will be robbed blind before anyone figures it out. But, it will be deserved for the way Chris/Merche have behaved thus far....forcing Nat to sell her land and continuing to condemn Juan who's served his time, unjustly I say.

OK. Someone help me with the timeline. That baby was born premature...supposedly...so I'm still trying or hoping it's Juan's....but I lost track of the timeline. I thought Aurora and Rob were away for a year after Aurora had her liasion with Juan in jail. I hope I have the timing wrong.

whew! the sex is pretty hot in this show, if only in your dreams Aurora,

on the timeline Nett, Serena said last night, it's been 2 years, Rob and Aurora were away a year or more, pretty sure little Emilio is Rob's, plus Juanjo told Aurora he loves everything about the baby simply because it's hers, and Aurora once told Rob that it was him she decided to start a family with.

talk about taking a Napa valley tour, tourist guide Kimberly sure is on her way, I thought that was her with Doris when they took Juanjo to the strip club where where Serena knew Doris but just met Kimberly.

interesting game Natalia and Paco are playing, and Natalia isn't revealing to us, and maybe to herself, her true intentions, but apparently after revving up Paco's sex drive she is leaving him on the edge.

Paloma is turning out to be one of the neatest characters, I thought it was her that spilled the coffee on the laptop, but I guess it was Paco, but in the midst of the panic she recovers the hard copies in the trash, yuk! and after adding, what was it, to the office coffee to Paco's distaste and parking in his place, MAWA parking only, but it was for execs, Paco is slow to see her good side, but now they are working late while his wife has dinner alone.

well the sommelier course is over, now for the test.

Kimberly shut down caveman Cris when he told her not to hang with his enemies, she also wouldn't invite him to her home, Cris thinking they should be more like man over wife, so how is it he sees her with Juanjo?

deb, I too had the impression that Paloma spilled the coffee. I'm not sure why you changed your mind and decided it was Paco. I recall that when I watched the show last night, my only question about the coffee spill was whether Paloma did it accidentally or deliberately, in response to Paco's snide remark about not wanting any coffee. She's enough of a hot-head that I could see her responding that way, but on the other hand, she's also a good person and knows that Mike needs this information ASAP. So it was probably an accident.

Wow, Roberto gets more and more evil with each episode. As some people predicted earlier, he's got it in for Dimas. His attempt to push Dimas aside doesn't succeed at first--Crisanto tells him that Dimas is his right-hand man, part of the family, and that's that. But that's not that for Roberto. Though it wasn't 100% clear to me where he was when he received Aurora's phone call asking where he was, he clearly was not just leaving the pharmacy, as he said. The ominous music underscored this. Apparently he was leaving from the office after setting a small fire that would be blamed on Dimas. And sure enough, almost immediately after that Paco is notified that there's a fire at the bodega.

The fire accomplishes what Roberto wants. Crisanto is persuaded to computerize the company's records. He says Dimas will still be in charge. Roberto suggests that Dimas may want to take a computer course. Dimas demurs, saying that's for more educated people like Roberto. Whereupon Crisanto puts Roberto in charge of accounting.

I think Keller Wortham, the guy who plays Natalia's ex-husband Horacio, also played Jacob Sanders in Bajo el mismo Cielo. There he was on the side of the angels, IIRC. I wonder what sort of person he'll be here.

I thought it was obvious that Rib set the fire. He set Dimis up to take the blame earlier. Rob get what he wants...control over the books

Rob was conniving enuf to hire a fake recruiter...maybe he hired Kim to seduce Chris as well...time will tell....but either way I see blackmail in Chris future.

Has a feeling Juan and Serena would get together but nit so soon. She will get kicked out of the family when Chris mad merchant find out.
