Mi marido tiene familia Wednesday 1/3/18 Capítulo 95: Whose Wedding Is It Anyway?

Blanca answers Eugenio: yes, she wants to to be Eugenio’s novia again. They kiss and keep dancing.

Linda goes to see Catalina’s psychic. She says that he told her that she was going to be experiencing her best time with her love Bruno. The psychic reiterates that the planets do not lie. Linda wants to know what the obstacle is that they are going to have to overcome. The psychic just says that the problem in Linda's and her boyfriend’s relationship is in themselves. That is not what Linda wanted to hear.

Frida tells Marisol that her father called and wants to see her. She told him she had to ask her mother first and he got angry saying that he was her father and he did not have to ask permission to see her. Marisol asks her is she wants to see him. Frida doesn’t know because she afraid of her dad taking her away and her never seeing her or Marisol again. Marisol explains that he cannot take her away because there is an agreement in the divorce that Frida stays with her and if her father does not fulfill his part of the agreement, he will have to deal with the judge. Frida is still not sure.

Still with the psychic, Linda is crying. He reminds her that he does charge by the hour. She knows and does not care. How can the problem be Bruno and her? He needs to consult the planets again. Maybe they made a mistake. The psychic assures her that they never make a mistake and that they will overcome their obstacle. He offers her a love spell for a real deal but Linda leaves declaring that she may be desperate but not deranged.

At Enzo’s place. Enzo goes to join Amalia in bed. He thanks her for waiting until he arrived in her life. He does not want to wait any longer. He wants her to move in right away. He wants to give his life to her. She cannot believe it. She is happy. He kisses her.

Eugenio and Blanca are in bed. Eugenio tells her that a long time ago he asked God to be able to see her eyes like they are now with the age lines around them. She will always be the love of his life. Blanca kisses him and they decide to hug. That does not work for Blanca because his body temperature is so hot. He laughs saying to be honest his shoulder was hurting him. They just laugh and decide to hold hands. Eugenio says they can remember what brought them together: her gaze. Her shyness drove him crazy. Blanca hides her face under the covers and giggles. They laugh again. He asks what she liked about him. It was his smile and his laugh. Eigenio laughs out loud. He hasn’t lost his laugh yet. She motions maybe a bit. Eugenio concludes that when all is done they continue being just who they are: Bkanca and Eugenio. Blanca agrees, turns off the lights and tells him to give her his hand.

At home, Daniela sees Linda taking more selfies. Linda thinks she would like to go up a breast size. Daniela tells her not to even think about it. Linda now thinks she needs breast implants to keep Bruno. She doesn’t know what to do with her life.

Amalia comes home crying and Belén thinks she broke up with Enzo. No, Amalia is crying out of happiness and tells Belén that she is going to move in with Enzo.

Julieta is having a nightmare and Robert helps her wake up. She was in a hallway with suitcases dropping children’s items. She gets up to see if her mother has come home. Julieta tells her mother about the nightmare. Catalina wants to contact her psychic and ask him about it. Julieta says no, to just forget it.She is going back to sleep. Catalina wants her to accept that dreams sometimes bring messages with them. Julieta looks upset.

Amalia is all excited. Belén says she is leaving her alone. Amalia tells Belén that her Prince Charming has arrived and it is time for her to live. Belén insists that this is her home. Amalia claims that when Belén’s ex cam back, she never complained to her. Belén tells her not to be a liar. Of course, she complained. Amalia insists that now it is her turn to leave the nest. If she doesn’t do it now, she never will. Belén is not happy. Belén calls Amalia cruel since she spent her whole life taking care of her. Amalia adds she spent her life being with Belén. Amalia insists that they will always love each other.

Robert Sr., Grace, Eugenio and Blanca are talking. Robert Sr. Tells the Córcega’s that they are the best parents that Robert/Juan Pablo could have ever had. He also tells them that he and Grace could never have children no matter how they tried. Blanca says that they never knew that. Blanca says that she and her husband solved the problem with adoption. Robert Sr. says they are very grateful to the Córcega’s. Without them, he and Grace would have never found complete happiness. It was such a good thing that they
brought Juan Pablo into the world. Blanca and Eugenio smile.

Hugo tells Belén about starting his cookie company. He likes thinking about each person who is going to enjoy his cookies and getting ahead. Belén asks him to please be quiet and complains about Amalia moving out and she feeling like her life has no direction. Hugo tells her that this is good news. She does not have to take care of her and now she can do whatever she likes. Nelén looks like she never really thought before about doing whatever she likes.

It is time to say good bye to Robert’s parents. Robert thanks them for coming to meet his family. Grace calls him “Bobby” and tells him how much they love him. Robert Sr. is happy that they got to meet his birth parents and that he is with them. Eugenio apologizes for a couple of difficult days . . Robert Sr. sees nothing to be apologized for. He and Grace had a marvelous time thanks to them. Grace thanks them for more than anything else for having loaned them their son for so long. Blanca is finally able to deliver her “greeting”: thank you so much for loving my son. Imelda does not know how to pay the Cooper’s back for all of the care they gave Juan Pablo. In a heartfelt gesture, Blanca gives the locket with Juan Pablo’s photo that she wore all of those years he was lost keeping him close to her heart to Grace. She puts it around Grace’s neck. That way she can remember, as Blanca does, that nobody can take that love away from her. Her son is always going to be with her and is going to return to her. There are tears all around and Blanca and Grace hug. Grace thanks her.

Grace and Robert Sr. say goodbye to Robert, Julieta and Dave. Robert says they need to remember they are always going to be in his thoughts and may God bless them. Robert Sr. says they will be seeing each other soon. Grace tells him she loves him and how lucky he is to have such a lovely and large family. Robert Sr. tells him to keep growing amn that he and Julieta are going to be the best parents. Robert hugs his parents.

The Córcega’s get together to start to plan Daniela’s wedding. Imelda remkmds Daniela how important her wedding day is going to be for all of them. Blanca sees it as a great thrill. Eugenio wants Daniela to tell Gabriel that if he wants to marry her, Gabriel has to accept that the whole Córcega clan is going to organize and participate in the wedding. Imelda wants the wedding to include all of the joy that Daniela never had when her birthday was not celebrated. Finally, Daniela agrees to the family planning the wedding.

Julieta, Robert amd Dave leave for Acapulco.

Ignacio meets Frida at the bus so they can spend some time together. Frida does not want to go with him until he stops lying to her. He tells her not to talk to him like that. He is her father and she has to respect him. Frida says he has to respect her, too. Frida reiterates that he lies. He goes to lead Frida away and Marisol appears. Ignacio blames her for having poisoned Frida’s mind against him. Calm, cool, amd collected Marisol tells him that Frida sees, feels and realizes what is going on. She takes the opportunity to hand Ignacio the paperwork regarding the charges she has filed against him since he is not fulfilling his obligations as a father nor the agreements of the divorce settlement and he is hurting Frida. She already told him that if he did not respect the divorce agreements, she would file charges. She takes Frida and leaves.

Julieta, Robert and Dave enjoy the beach amd get to wet their feet in the ocean.

Gabriel, Augusto, Cassandra and Clarissa along with Gabriel arrive at the Córcega’s to help plan the wedding. Imelda tells them that they don’t need their help. Augusto is insistent in wanting to help plan because his only son is getting married. The long and the short of it is that the Mussi want a modern sophisticated affair at the “club” (as in country club) and the Córcega’s want a traditional church wedding with a reception held in a local banquet hall. Augusto offers to pay for it all which does not sit well with the Córcega’s. Both groups are stubborn and nobody wants to compromise and each are insulting in their own way. It is as if Gabriel and Daniela are not even there eventhough Daniela reminds them that everyone should be happy especially she and Gabriel since it is their wedding.

Catalina keeps trying to call Julieta in Acapulco. She tells Bruno that she has to talk to Julieta about her dream. She discussed its meaning with her psychic and it is a matter of life or death.

Back in Acapulco, Julieta, Robert amd Dave enjoy the ocean and bury each other in the sand.

Gabriel and Daniela escape the family wedding planning fiasco and go to the carpentry shop. He tells her it is going to be worse than what they imagined. She says the breaking point was saying that they should have two weddings. Now she is worried about getting her wedding dress with everyone putting in their two cents about how she is supposed to look. Gabriel says he will respect whatever she chooses. He doesn’t want to know what she is wearing. He wants a surprise. She also wants to be surprised with how he is going to look. The momentary tranquility is broken by Eugenio informing them that the wedding is going to be as God wills or they can count on the Córcega’s not being there. Daniela asks him if he is seriously thinking about not coming to her wedding. Eugenio just wants the wedding to be a magical moment for her in front of God not superficial production of some sort. Daniela says that is just what she needed. Her family always has to have their way. Gabriel explains that they are just upset. Next, it is Cassandra and Clarissa who are threatenimg not to come to the wedding. Gabriel asks Daniela softly if she is sure she does not want to elope. Soon Augusto comes down with Imelda and Blanca right behind him. Gabriel and Daniela try to convince them that they are just happy to be together. Imelda has to explain that when two people marry it is really two families marrying and she smells a divorce already. They all say no. Gabriel tells them they all they care about—on both sides— is being right. Daniela adds that nobody cares what they—the bride and groom—feel. It would be nice if they could think of them just a little bit. Gabriel FINALLY puts his foot down and tells all of them that if the two families cannot agree, he and Daniela will get married alone: without them.

Back in Acapulco, it is pool time and art time.

Marisol talks to Frida. She is going to help Xavi at a rehearsal for performances that they have already been paid for. Frida wants to go. Marisol says not this time, maybe another time when things have calmed down a bit. Marisol asks how she feels about her dad. Frida feels bad about her dad because of what is going on. She does not like her dad being like he is. Ignacio shows up. He is desperate and wants to talk to her and Frida. Marisol will meet him with Frida in the attic apartment. She does not want anybody in her family to see him.

In the bakery, Eugenio is going on about not going to the wedding if it is going to be like the Mussi want it. Blanca asks him and Imelda if they do not think that Gabriel and Daniela are right that the point is for them to be happy. Daniela comes in. Imelda starts in with how this wedding could be her last wedding ever in her life. Blanca tells Daniela it is her wedding. She has to decide what she wants. Imelda starts to talk and Blanca cuts her off reminding her that she had the wedding that Imelda wanted her to have. Imelda pouts. Blanca did what everyone wanted her to do. She refuses to force her ideas on her children. Eugenio sees it as a lack of respect. They are the parents of the bride and the bride is the most important part of it all. Blanca tells Daniela that the time has come for her to start making her own decisions. Daniela smiles.

Back on the beach some kids ask Dave to play soccer with them. Julieta cheers him on along with Robert.

Ignacio explains that when he married Marisol, he did so for the rest of his life. Frida, tells him that he also lied then. He tells her again that he does not like it when she talks to him like that. When he married Marisol, he meant it. He is there to apologize to both of them. He never wanted it to get that far. Marisol did not want to either but he didn’t get it the easy way. He knows he made a mistake. He does not want to lose the right to see his daughter.

Julieta and Robert are alone on the beach while Dave is happily playing soccer with the other kids. Julieta is so happy having a family. Robert is happy that finally they are fulfilling one of their dreams. Julieta says that she never thought that all of this would have happened just by moving into that apartment. Robert adds amd that he would find his family. Julietanadds a great family it is. She admits she is just kidding. He asks if she is sorry about him having found his family. No, because if he had not found them, they probably would not be where they are today. She asks if he is sorry for having married her. How could he be sorry if he is more in love than ever? Robert and Julieta go over their whole wedding ceremony and reception in their heads as we see a montage of scenes. Robert proclaims that tonight is their honeymoon. Juleta agrees and says that she is happier with him every day. Robert doesn’t want it to ever end. Julieta says it has just begun. They do their “imán” thing and kiss.

Another good one.

It was interesting the way that the episode ended. I felt almost like a "season" ending of a series.

Daniela better wake up and speak up or she is going to get run over.

Each time Frida called Ignacio on his lying was made more perfect because he really did not like it. I hope Marisol does not give in and lets the court handle the matter.

More later.

Jarifa: I agree with you on Daniela. She needs to get a backbone!

Linda is desperate to look like Kylie Jenner ROFLOL.

Marisol is going to cave I'm afraid.

Jarifa, thank you very much for another great recap! "Whose Wedding Is It Anyway?" is a good question.

We will see what happens, but I certainly hope that the two families' meddling does not drive Dani and Gaby to elope. OTOH, it is nice to see that the families are interacting not too, too badly. But Daddy Musi needs to buy himself a better jacket than the too tight, devilish red one. Clarissa is still cute.

Hugo may have opened Belen's eyes. What will be next for her, especially as her ex did not work out and she has been sighing when she sees happy couples? There's probably not enough time left in this season, but we know that a second is in the works.

I gotta go shovel snow :-(

Jafrifa, excellent recap as always...and the title is perfect!

Rushing to comment...busy day and expecting more "kids" ACKK!!

The meeting of the families was horrendous...how will Gabi and Dani ever get through it. Though Blanca seemed much more understanding and supportive at the bakery, I wish she had shown some of that during the meeting where she seemed to revert to the old Blanca.

One other thing I wanted to say quickly was that the dinner for Eugenio and Blanc was perfectly staged. At first, I wondered why Robert didn't send them to a nice restaurant, but when I thought about it more I realized how symbolic setting up the bakery was--they transformed a bland and boring place with a little love and attention...just like Blanca and Eugenio can transform their bland and boring marriage into a one tha is exciting and enchanting.

I loved the way Frida stood up to her father, such a smart girl! Marisol better keep to her guns...I'm still hoping that she and Xavi somehow end up together.

Andy, I remember Belen signing up Amalia for some on-line dating sites...maybe she can do that for herself!

Steve, funny I think that Linda is gong to end up messing up her relatinship with Bruno just because she is so insecure and has nothing going for herself besides work and him and now some silicone in her future.

Andy, thanks! I wish that Gabriel and Daniela would just elope at this point and cut both families out of the planning. Geez, if I hear about this being “Imelda’s last family wedding” again . . . Anyway, sorry that you have to shovel. I have been lucky with almost no snow. Today is frigid and sunny! A perfect winter day!

RgvChick, thanks. I did not really think of the location of Eugenio’s and Blanca’s romantic dinner but I do like your interpretation.

Btw, the Acapulco scenes were just fun.

Jarifa, I don't see why the families can't compromise. A nice church wedding, then a nice reception at the Musi's "club". Well, maybe I just want to see Dani in a beautiful dress and see what the other ladies wear, too. But no eloping!

Unless they do and we just have to accept it :-)

I liked Blanca sticking up for Dani, it's their wedding, they should have the final say. Blanca is sometimes a little slow to speak up, but consider how far she has come since this TN started.

Rgv Chickie, congrats on all the kids, and at least they won't make you lock your bedroom door.

Steve, I think Marisol will do the right thing... whatever that is. I haven't figured that out yet.

Another precious pearl Jarifa.

I loved “Blanca gives the locket with Juan Pablo’s photo that she wore all of those years he was lost keeping him close to her heart to Grace. She puts it around Grace’s neck. That way she can remember, as Blanca does, that nobody can take that love away from her”, one of the most touching moments thus far. And, that is an incredible compliment as this TN has been strewn with them…Thank you for conveying this so well Jarifa.

“Back in Acapulco, it is pool time and art time”. I loved the beach scenes! Dave and his cool hat, Julieta and Dave “burying” Robert in the sand as a “he-maid”, Dave being invited to play sand soccer with the other kids (and his excelling), Julieta being a vocal and physical cheerleader for Dave as Robert smiles quietly on the sidelines. Tender bonding scenes!

“Calm, cool, and collected Marisol tells him that Frida sees, feels and realizes what is going on”. I had thought Icky would come crawling back and in a way he has, trying to assert his “rights” (as though he hadn’t lost them a long time ago!). But he has to be dealt with and I hope Marisol stays strong so that they can reach a peaceful resolution where he gets to see his daughter but does not try and force his way back into the family. Has Begonia kicked him to the curb yet? If not, it’s just a matter of time.

“He offers her a love spell for a real deal but Linda leaves declaring that she may be desperate but not deranged” made me smile. Guess that’s a matter of opinion!

What on earth could Cat have found out about Julieta’s dream that is a life or death situation??

"when I thought about it more I realized how symbolic setting up the bakery was--they transformed a bland and boring place with a little love and attention...just like Blanca and Eugenio can transform their bland and boring marriage into a one tha is exciting and enchanting" was deep Rgv Chick and very insightful. I think Andy said it best with congrats on all the kids, and at least they won't make you lock your bedroom door". Too funny.

Jarifa, thank you for your exceptional work in starting this line and for your hard work and clear, concise vision of all the events.

Diana

Thanks Jarifa!

Agree that Blanca did a 180 while talking to Dani in the bakery. The facts though are that Gabi knows how to put together an event, he's done it twice to win Dani. I like the idea that Corsegas strange church and Musis strange reception.

Glad Mari filed charges. I had missed that part. Hopefully Icky has gotten the message. He screwed up big time with Begonia. I hope he becomes the father Frida deserves.

Linda needs to be independent and be proud of herself. I think she and Bruno will break up and then she'll get motivated to do something.

I teared up when Blanca gave her necklace to Grace. The Coopers are so much more laid back and understanding than I could be in this situation. As an adoptive family, I would have been so insecure about losing my child to the biological family.

How can I get Zuria's abs? Lol

Thank you for another wonderful recap, Jarifa! I find them especially important when I have to miss an episode as I did last night. This way i can keep up. Enzo and Amalia: So sweet! Belén is being awfully nasty. I'm so glad Hugo helped her see the positive side of Amalia's moving out. Superb remark about Blanca, Eugenio and the bakery, Rgv Chick! And congratulations on more kids, the literal kind! If you're in Northern IL as I am, Jarifa, a bit TOO frigid, IMHO. Is Cata's interpretation of Julieta's dream some sort of foreshadowing of danger at the beach? Or is that a red herring and it's actually related to something positive?

Jarifa- Thank you for your recap!

Blanca giving Grace the locket was a very touching scene.

I love Juli's beach hat!

The beach scenes . . . aaaaahhh . . . as we go into yet another few days of sub-freezing temps before warmer weather on Sunday (maybe). I know it's been bad when the couple of hours of 36°F yesterday felt like shorts weather! LOL

"One other thing I wanted to say quickly was that the dinner for Eugenio and Blanc was perfectly staged."
Rgv Chick - your entire commentary on this is beautifully written and makes so much sense.

Linda's biggest obstacle is herself. I like the psychic. He is much more authentic, if not nearly as funny, as "Bob" was on La Fan.

Diana, thank you. That scene with Blanca giving Grace the locket was so well done and so touching. I sure agree with you about Linda. At least she didn’t buy the spell.

Carvivlie, you’re welcome. Yes, it would make sens for the Córcega’s to do the church and the Mussi’s the reception (please let somebody else even bake the cake!). Here is hoping that the problem is solved soon by an agreement or an elopement.

Thanks, SpanProf. I am in the Chicago burbs so It looks like we are sharing the same weather. I can take any kind of cold just not snow of which, thankfully, we have had very little. Interesting comment about Catalina and the dream. I sure hope that nothing destroys the trip.

doris, thanks. Bob in La Fan! Yes, maybe less authentic but a lot more fun. It seems like ages since La Fan was on and never allowed to finish. I loved that show, too. You sure hit it on the head with Linda. We may get temps in the thirties this weekend but then also the threat of some snow. : (

I thought that Gabi and Dani asked Rob and Juli to be their "padrinos de boda" ? Which I took to mean they would be the wedding planners. If not, then what are they exactly?

The padrinos are more like "sponsors" who assist during the wedding ceremony and sometimes help pay for some of the wedding expenses.

Thanks Jarifa! That doesn't sound like an "honor" to me. Lol

Thanks, Jarifa. Fab job.

I could watch the beach scenes all day. So nice to see Dave making friends and kids not bugging him about his scars.

Sorry to see the Coopers leave. But their job is done. They helped awaken Eugenio and Blanca.

Thanks, Niecie. I really enjoyed the Coopers visit, too.
