deb, thanks VERY much for the info about the starting date (Feb. 21) for both “Al Otro Lado Del Muro” at 9pm/8c and “Enemigo Íntimo” at 10pm/9c. So that gives us almost three more weeks of "Sangre." Time for more of Roberto's nastiness, alas.

JJ acuses Sere of trapping him by being pregnant, they agreed not to have kids, she fires back, things happen, and points out how happy he is with Emilito, is it just her he doesn't want to have kids with.

JJ comes back after dressing, apologises, she's right, he's ok with it, Sere tells him she is not preggers, boing, JJ guesses it's Aurora (wow, he didn't even question Sere, she is just that kind of honest person)

Paco shows off for Paloma and sprains his ankle.

the judge has granted Roberto supervised visits with Emilito, what? everyone says, so Paloma and Ernesto meet Roberto in the park with the baby, he has 2 hours, while getting baby wipes he sees Aurora's sonogram in the bag, oh no, Paloma denies her pregnancy, but he keeps the sonogram and goes and sees the doc.

hmm, turns out Aurora watched the visit from afar, Ernesto points out that if there is a problem caused by the victim approaching the person who has the restraining order, it could be canceled.

when Ernesto leaves, Paloma asks if Aurora is pregnant, and follows up with it's your body, you don't have to have the baby.

Rob shows Cris the sonogram and talks about how Emilito won't be an only child like him, Cris is all for more family (the one he has is kind of shrinking), Cris tells Meche who goes to Aurora, how could Aurora not be happy.

Leo goes with Meche and he and Paloma talk, she will always be his sister, (he's like a drowning person being pulled from the water)

Roberto takes his joy to Sara, Aurora can't raise two kids alone, she will need me, Sara throws in, is it your baby, she was sleeping with Juanjo right, ha!

Meche is really happy about the new baby, even as Aurora is torn, it's a miracle from God, and maybe you two will get back together someday and... what? Aurora finally jumps back with what part of me being raped don't you get.

Rob keeps calling, Aurora finally answers (wrong) and tells him she won't be having the baby, Rob goes ballistic and runs to her but Sara has a good grip on him, she has a plan.

Rob goes to Cris about the abortion, lawyer says he can't stop her, Cris goes to Aurora's, she can't do this, she tells of rob raping her, yes but 2 wrongs don't make a right, if you have this abortion you will no longer be a part of this family, "do I care" says Aurora.

as Aurora leaves for work the next morning her garage wall is plastered with anti abortion posters, Sara's gang at work (she mentioned other members of her association)

Rob calls Anita, he wants her to find out when and where Aurora's abortion will be, Anita won't help.

Anita goes to Aurora, how about if you give me the baby, what? she obviously has not thought about Rob being on her doorstep forever) Aurora snubs her, Anita calls Rob with the info.

Sofi who has been crying for days goes to see Alexis, Sofi knows what she did was wrong, she just wants to be near Leo, she just wants to help him, but she doesn't know how, please help me.

Aurora leaves for her abortion but there is a demonstration out the door, Paloma hoses them down as Ernesto arrives to help, he arrests Paloma, and when Paco pushes him, takes him as well, meanwhile Aurora has got out the back door, picked up by JJ and Sere, and seen by Rob and Sara, who are lurking.

At the clinic Aurora wants to do this alone, but as she leaves the car is confronted with the demonstrators, in the confusion she runs, and is hit by a car, Rob is frantic but Sara holds him back...

Superb recap, deb! I especially loved your asides, such as "Cris is all for more family (the one he has is kind of shrinking)."

I'm not feeling a lot of chemistry between Paloma and Ernesto. I think she may have been right an episode or two ago when she said he was too much "police" for her. Why does he arrest her? For turning the garden hose on Sara's harpies, who were clearly disturbing the peace? Feh!

It wasn't clear to me whose car struck Aurora. I would love it to have been Sara's, but I think Sara had already pulled off to the side. So all we have is a hit-and-run driver?

I wondered how Telemundo was going to weasel out of Aurora's have an abortion. My guess is that her being hit by the car may take care of the problem.

Thanks, deb! I missed it but will try to catch up today. I'm guessing Sara will be the end/death of Roberto now that she's thoroughly invested in his crimes. Maybe It takes an obsessive fool to catch another.

I don't think any of us are surprised that Telemundo used a car accident as an out. But they were showing her wanting the abortion. It's usually a shock when they even discuss the option so progress? Given her rapist/husband, it's a reasonable option. And he AND Meche still think they could get back together? Ugh. Not sure why Sara wanted to help Rob. If she and Rob think he and Aurora will get back together for a baby, wouldn't that mean Sara is back to a side piece? Shouldn't she want Aurora gone?

I realize forgiveness is usually the endgame no matter what. but Aurora should disown her father and at least cut off her mother for a little while. Go back to France. Get her life together, and then maybe, only if Meche comes to the understanding that staying married to a rapist is bad no matter how many children he gets her pregnant with, then Meche can see her grandchild again. But Cris should be out of the picture forever. He's terrible and shouldn't be allowed in any child's life. He had his chance to be a good father and failed miserably. Aurora should go and take Leonora with her. And Paloma. They'd all be happier far away from their parents.

Paco and Paloma sit handcuffed on a bench at the police station, bantering back and forth when Susan and Ernesto appear, she wants an apology to her officer, they do, Paloma reluctantly, and pay their fines and go, Paco does but Paloma can't, Nat is there to pick up Paco when he offers to pay Paloma's, then alone with Susan she let's Paco know she sees what's going on, she didn't like Paco using her officer to impress a girl, she once thought her best friend had a worthy husband, Paco squirms, she hasn't said anything because she figures Nat has turned a blind eye to it.

Aurora is ok, but lost the baby.

Sere zeros in on Sara who probably tipped Rob, they get Meche to consider that, who later throws it out for Cris.

Cris is looking over some papers and mumbling about what a mess he left us in, I could even go to jail for this, he has Dimas lock up the documents, so no one can see them.

the doc spills the news about Aurora, she doesn't want to talk about it, Cris shows and threatens JJ to leave, but he is staying, Meche breaks them up and Cris leaves without seeing Aurora, she's alright and she got what she wanted, he says.

Rob has gone into the winery and zeros in on the papers Cris has locked up in his office (he has a sense for this)

Sofi speaks at the LBGT, how she betrayed Leo, but Leo leaves.

JJ has told Susan what he knows, she has opened a case on Rob, interrogates him.

Leo and Rafa bark at each other, Leo lets him know he quit the team so Rafa could get on.

Sere goes home alone as JJ spends the night watching over Aurora, he can't help but go in and touch her as she sleeps, telling her she'll be safe (this was creepy for me) Sere comes in early sees JJ asleep head on bed near Aurora, sends him to work.

Rob is worried about the police making the connection, Sara says she will take all the blame, she will do anything for him, anything? Rob ponders, she kisses him on the lips before she goes, but comes back for another, and leaves, nope, Rob says she is staying, and they spend the night together.

the small wine thing isn't happening, and Pablo ?? the distributer is backing out, Nat is back to her old self, tells him she'll have the wine on time (the festival is in a month, best time to debut a new wine)

Leo goes to see Sofi, he is unsure if he will follow through with his decision, but the one thing he does know, he needs Sofi, she needs him as well.

Nat is mad at Paco for paying Paloma's fine, so what is really going on, Paco says have I ever cheated on you, no, not that I know of says Nat, but if you do, I will castrate you.

Susan calls in Sara for questioning, (and she knows how to make people squirm), Ernesto had rounded up all the pro-lifers and Diane the leader spilled that it was Sara that tipped them, ok but Sara denies even knowing about the protest.

Susan gets Aurora's statement at home and tells her of Sara's connection while Paloma begs Meche for a loan to pay back Paco, Meche finds out Ernesto is waiting out side so she invites him in (love watching the faces Paloma makes)
and while they are together Aurora thanks Susan for all she has done, but Susan pours it on about how Ernesto did all the work, and as Susan and Ernesto are out by their car he wants to know what was up with that, Susan said he could probably use some points, yep, Paloma follows them out and apologizes to him.

Sara tells Rob about Susan making the connection, he heads to see Cris before he hears, but Meche has told him over the phone, your protégé has killed our grandson...

Kelly, I agree that since Aurora is a sympathetic character, her even wanting an abortion is progress. I was also struck by the fact that someone in the novela (Paloma?) said that in the US, a woman has the right to say what happens to her body. That too seems to go further than Telemundo has gone in the past.

deb, thanks so much for another terrific recap! I'm always amazed how you can convey everything that happens so gracefully and succinctly.

Ah, so at last I see why we were shown a close-up of the coach's listing of the five top soccer players, with Leonardo #1 and Rafa an also-ran at #6. After being thoroughly obnoxious to Leo, Rafa finally learns that he's on the team only because Leo dropped out.

Last night I was pleased that I used the Spanish subtitles. I learned a few words that may prove to be useful: Nat's telling Paco that if she ever finds he's been unfaithful to her, te capo (I'll castrate you); Susan's telling Aurora that the name of the person responsible for the anti-choice harpies attacking her te va a sonar (will ring a bell with you); zozobra (anguish, anxiety, worry); and pacotilla (garbage, trash, rubbish). I'm a little surprised that I've never come upon these last two words before, since surely every telenovela gives lots of opportunities for using them. :-)

With 12 more episodes to go, I wonder what additional crises we'll have to suffer through.

I am really enjoying everything going downhill for Roberto. I think Cris told him that if he found out Rob had anything to do with Aurora's losing the baby, there would be dire consequences. And now Rob is going to the office, just as Cris found out that Rob WAS connected to it! Will Rob be able to squirm out of it again?

I also thought it amusing when Sara said any woman would be glad to have Rob's baby, and then they had sex. Not that she'll get pregnant, but she is just so loony, they're really a great pair. Except that I have a funny feeling he could turn against her at any minute.


Although I'm completely disgusted with all of Cris's macho behavior (and other bad things towards his 3 children), he still seems to me like the kind of character who will reform and be forgiven in the end. We'll see.


And Sere really has to realize (which she sort of does) that it's just never going to work out with Juanjo. It was be nice if she met a new guy, but since they seem to only recycle characters for new love interests (e.g., Ernesto and Paloma), who else is there? Pablo, the wine guy (if that's his name)? I don't particularly like him, but he could change.

The episodes are definitely getting better although they may have jumped ahead a little with the Paco/Paloma storyline. Suddenly Susan knows about them and Nat's suspicious and threatens him with castration? Personally I didn't see the problem with a boss/family friend bailing out an employee...of course she'd pay it back. But apparently Paloma and Paco's little affair is about to come out and I can't wait to see how Nat really responds.

Finally caught up on the last two episodes. Can't wait to see Sara's reaction when she finds out that Roberto is using her. Does anyone know how the sonogram got into Riberto's belongings while he was watching Emilio? He called Anita but she didn't seem to know... unless she was lying. She was the snitch who told Roberto the name of the clinic. Will this mean divorce for her?

Anon11:19, the sonogram was in the diaper bag that Paloma brought along when Roberto was going to have a supervised visit with Emilito in the park. Roberto went to find a clean diaper in the bag and came across the report with the sonogram.

Bella, I may not be remembering correctly, but I think Aurora had no idea that anyone else (least of all Roberto) would have access to her diaper bag. Suddenly, she learns that the judge has agreed to Roberto's having supervised visits with Emilito, and that the first one would be right away. Paloma assures her that she (Paloma) will be present, as will Ernesto, so Emilito will be safe. And they go off with Emilito in the stroller along with the diaper bag. If that's the case, then I don't think Aurora was careless. It never occurred to her that Roberto would have access to Emilito, let alone access to the diaper bag. She may not even have thought about the fact that that's where she put the report with the sonogram photo.
