Mauricio and Renee run over to pick up Anifer from Veronica but Anifer declares that she no longer loves him and it’s his fault her mother died. Renee tells her that Mauricio is not at fault but Anifer states that they are both liars and she doesn’t want to go home with them because they are lies. She prefers to go to Neron’s house and Neron and Flor agree but Mauricio reminds her that he just wanted to protect her and begs her to come back home. Renee agrees and begs Anifer as well, but Jorge suggests they drag her back home, but Veronica shakes her head. Tono agrees with Jorge but Neron can’t as he would leave these things to Carmelita and now Flor. Jorge suggests Mauricio give Anifer a good whipping, as discipline is necessary, but Veronica disagrees. Tono wonders why all the lies in the first place and Jorge reiterates that they punish Anifer for escaping. Flor shuts everyone up then and tells Anifer that she can stay with them, at least for today, since it’s been a rough day. Neron agrees and Anifer looks at Mauricio, quietly, extremely disappointed in his actions.

In her suite, Kika tells Charytin about the fact that her revenge is finally complete, but she feels that she paid too high a price because she would feel guilty if something happens to Anifer. Charytin suggests she move on and come back to Miami but Kika must find out if Anifer is safe.

At the hospital, Rodrigo and Rafael meet with an IVF specialist about surrogacy but finds that the process is too expensive. Rafael thinks $10,000 is little compared to what they’d receive but Rodrigo has doubts. The specialist suggests they find a less expensive, albeit less legal, option but they want to do things right. The specialist suggests they go to the US, as there may be other options there, and hands them a couple of pamphlets to look over. She states that the most important thing is to be sure of their decision before moving forward as it’s something they can’t take back.

Pablo and Lili hide in the closet in Neron’s room and wonder what to do. Lili suggests the bathroom but Pablo states that the windows have bars. Lili can’t believe that they are stuck there until the house is empty and confesses that she’s scared. Pablo assures her that everything will be all right. In the kitchen, Mauricio asks Flor and Neron to tell him if Anifer needs anything because he and Renee will be ready should she need them. Mauricio walks out and Renee caresses Anifer’s cheek before leaving the little girl with Neron and Flor. Outside the kitchen, Renee knew this lie would backfire, but Mauricio begs her to give him a break, at least for today. He then tells her that he will tell Anifer that the whole email thing was his idea, but Renee shakes her head. She does ask Mauricio to be patient, as she’s sure Anifer will forgive him, and then leaves to her house as she’s sleeping there for now. Now alone, Mauricio tries to go back inside the kitchen to see Anifer but decides against it and leaves.

At Jorge’s, Jorge paces in front of Samuel, Baldo and Valentina stating that it was divine province that Anifer appeared, safe, and reminds that that family is the most important then. He asks Valentina to go prepare dinner with Lili, but Valentina reveals that Lili is not in her room and they all wonder where she could be.

Veronica sits her children down at home and chide them for hiding Anifer. Ernesto barely pays attention, but Veronica punishes him as well Tania and Fidel for their own complacency in the crime with no desert or electronics; she doesn’t even want to see them for the time being and storms off. Tono assures the kids that Veronica loves them all very much, but is just mad, and the children understand. He then asks to go to their rooms, lest Veronica come back and punish them more. The children oblige.

Flor and Neron promise Anifer that she will have a lot of fun sleeping with Milady in her room. Flor then goes to get things ready but runs into Pablo, who asks if he can help get Anifer settled in while they have dinner. He then covertly tells Lili to go outside by screaming about going outside but Flor is confused as to why he’s screaming. He keeps screaming to go outside and Lili finally runs through the house and manages to leave through the front door.

Lili arrives home a few seconds later but finds Jorge waiting for her. She explains that she was studying all afternoon and went outside to relax. Valentina and Samuel state that she’s lying but Baldo asks them to not be such snitches, especially since Lili just told them where she was. Jorge is unconvinced and gives her one chance to tell him the truth. Lili confesses that she shouldn’t say where she was, but she was with Pablo, helping him with his English. Jorge is happy to see her helping others but warns him not to get too friendly with him as he’s an illegal immigrant. Lili knew and explains that she’s helping him because he wants to go to the US to find his father. From the top of the stairs, her siblings laugh as they realize she’s been sneaking off with Pablo.

At home, Mauricio takes off his jacket and wonders what he should do. He then finds some drawings Anifer left on the dinner table and looks at them. He grows sad as he looks at them, so he goes into the storage room to find the video tapes Bosco left for him. He watches one of his father and himself, practicing an interview, and tears form in his eyes as he sees his younger self state that he will be a great businessman at Logatoys and will be an amazing father. He begins to cry freely as he continues to see the video, wondering how everything went so wrong.

Falcon meets with the gray-haired man in his house and assures him that Logatoys is in a nosedive and won’t get any worse or better under his careful eye. As the man places a Mauricio doll within his replica of the Logatoys factory, Falcon assures him that Logatoys will soon be his. The man is quiet, and Falcon asks if he has thought of a loop pole to bypass the clause in Bosco’s will, stating that Mauricio can’t sell the company. We don’t hear the gray-haired man’s answer.

Later, Mauricio sits outside and thinks as Neron approaches him and assures him Anifer is okay and they are taking good care of her. Mauricio thanks him for his help and Neron reminds him that Bosco helped him a lot and he’s more than happy to help him. Mauricio smiles and confesses that Neron reminds him of his own father, especially because of his age, and Neron wonders if he will see Milady grow up like his other children. Mauricio tells him he will and then apologizes for all the bad things he did to him in the beginning, especially regarding his pension, but Neron tells him not to worry as the past is a past. Neron then states that Mauricio just reminded him of his father Bosco, because he has the same great heart. Mauricio smiles and they sit in silence for a moment.

The next morning, Tono piles his children into the car as Mauricio comes and asks him if Veronica went on the trip with Sebastian the seducer. Tono’s kids ask Mauricio what he means so Tono pushes them into the car and then asks Mauricio to be discreet. Mauricio nods and then explains that he spoke to Sebastian and can confirm he has not slept with Veronica. Tono thanks him and promises to see him later for the Kickstarter project. Mauricio goes inside Neron’s house as Tono gets inside his car and cringes because Veronica was in the passenger’s seat the whole time, listening to everything. She chides Tono for not trusting her, but he asks her to forgive as he was just insecure and now knows the truth. She nods and Tono asks if she will come back in time for Tania’s performance. Veronica assures him she will, and he then asks for her forgiveness again. She smiles and kisses him as the children tease them from the backseat.

Mauricio tries to convince Anifer to go to school but she reiterates that she doesn’t want to go. Renee tries to convince her as well, especially because she’s been absent a lot because of her arm, and Anifer nods and goes to get ready. One alone with Renee, Mauricio confesses that winning his daughter’s love back will be harder than getting a hurt woman’s love back. He catches himself and apologizes as Renee tells him that it’s okay and asks him to be patient with Anifer again, as she’s been through a lot. Mauricio nods, dejected.

Sometime later, Renee meets with Rafael at the courthouse and tells him all that happened with Anifer and Mauricio. He apologizes for not being there, but he and Rodrigo looked into surrogacy and it’s way too expensive, but he refuses to give up as he wants a family with Rodrigo. He then asks her about her own search for her father as an employee comes back and states that the situation with her mother’s house is more complicated than they originally thought because the house is not even in her mother’s name; the only name on title is Noel Carvajal’s. Renee is floored.

Mauricio is in his office with Fabian, who wonders why he didn’t tell him about what happened with Anifer as they are like brothers, but Mauricio argues that he isn’t mad at him, just forgot to tell him. Fabian confesses that he feels left out, as Mauricio used to call him for everything, but Mauricio is happy to take responsibility for his own life. Fabian could not be happier that he is finally being an adult, but Mauricio is barely paying attention. Fabian tries to get him to pay attention, but Mauricio is focused on his plan B for the new toy launch. Fabian is curious, and Mauricio reveals that he and Tono have launched a Kickstarter campaign and they hope to gather some money to do, at least a small launch. Fabian asks him to check on how much they have already, and Mauricio is happy to see that they have $1000 pesos but Fabian frowns.

As the Barrientos’ children play, Tono asks Anifer to go get her things from Neron’s house since Mauricio is on his way back home. She obliges and then runs into Flor, who is waiting outside her house. Anifer smiles because she’s happy to see everyone taking care of her, like in her old town, and Flor explains that she also had a lot of people take care of her and she loved it. Just then, Anifer sees Kika at the entrance, taking pictures with fans and runs inside Neron’s while dragging Flor with her. The Barrientos’ children see Kika as well and smile when they realize she’s the one who told Anifer the truth about Maria. They go get water guns as Kika runs into them. The three children throw colored paint on her as Kika screams.

Renee can’t believe her mother didn’t have a will or her name on title but the employee states that he has seen worse things. Either way, the process will be long, and it will cost some money, but she can get the house in her name. First thing she needs to do is find Noel Carvajal, but Renee looks dejected. Rafael thinks he could be the first owner and the employee explains that transfer of title is expensive and most people put it off but that complicates things later. Renee sighs, confused and frustrated.

Jorge arrives with his children and Samuel opens the gate as Lili asks if she can go to the library to help Pablo with his English. Jorge agrees and drives inside to find Kika, full of paint and crying, stumbling around because she can’t see. Jorge tries to help her as the Barrientos’ including Tono throw more paint and feathers on Kika. Kika screams that the children are evil but Tono demands she be quiet as they are not. Kika warns them that she will sue them if she stays blind forever but Fidelito continues to throw feathers on Kika. Tono rounds up his children and leaves as Kika begs Jorge to help her.

At Renee’s, Rafael suggests Renee look for her father, since he may have some insight about what happened, but Renee reveals that the biggest problem she has is Noel Carvajal, who died years ago, so she would have to speak to his son, Fabian, about her mother’s house. Rafael nods slowly as Renee cringes.

Fabian laughs at Mauricio for his Kickstarter idea because they won’t collect enough funds to be able to fabricate a whole line of toys, but Mauricio argues that it’s the only way as the bank won’t do anything for them and Falcon won’t help them anymore. Mauricio thinks they could get more money, if not for Kika’s fans, and Fabian apologizes again for hat happened between him and Kika. Mauricio nods and Fabian reiterates that he can trust him. Mauricio doesn’t seem convinced though.

In Jorge’s bathroom, Kika cleans herself up as best she can but looks at herself in the mirror and cries because she can’t fathom what would happen to her reputation if her fans saw her like this. Jorge comes in and gives her another towel and then calls Valentina and Lili over to help Kika change into some clean clothes. Valentina brings some of Dulce’s old clothes and Jorge leaves Kika with Valentina, who suggests she shower and change. Kika can’t believe how far she’s fallen but gratefully takes the clothes from Valentina.

At Neron’s shop, Neron chides Pablo for working so slow and he assures Neron that he will but wonders why he’s so depressed. Neron confesses that he’s worried because he’s too old and may not be there for Milady or Flor may leave him if he doesn’t help her with Milady. Pablo thinks everything will be okay and then asks Neron if he can leave early as Renee arrives and greets them. Neron teases him about his English classes and then Pablo smiles before leaving. Once alone with Neron, Renee asks Neron if he knew his mother’ house was in Noel’s name. Neron is floored as well.

At Tono’s, Anifer is sulking on the dinning room table as Mauricio begs her to come back home with him. Anifer wants to stay with Tono and Veronica and is firm in her decision. Mauricio apologizes and promises to keep apologizing but Anifer won’t budge and Mauricio asks Tono for advice. Tono suggests she give Anifer some space and let Anifer stay with them for the time being. Mauricio nods and tries to give Anifer a kiss but Anifer turns her head. Mauricio lets her stay and then he and Tono compare notes on how their children control them, instead of it being the other way around. They then compare about how hard it has been to be a father and Tono reveals what his children did to Kika. Mauricio is shocked.

Neron tells Renee that he had no idea about Catalina’s house and only saw her father, Angel, a handful of times but this was before he and Catalina were close friends. Renee wonders if Angel lived with Catalina but Neron shakes his head and explains that Catalina barely acknowledged him though things could’ve changed. Last he heard, Angel was staying close to the Mexican-US border but he’s not sure that he’s still there. Renee considers this.

A freshly showered Kika looks at herself in the mirror and wonders if Valentina can help her get out of the cul-de-sac incognito as no one can see her without makeup. Valentina goes to help as Jorge walks in and Kika states that she doesn’t sue the children because they are children. Jorge thinks they only did that to defend their friend, Anifer, because she destroyed her life. Kika argues that Mauricio destroyed her life, but Jorge reminds her that she’s an adult and Anifer is a child. Kika agrees that her actions were childish and then asks if Anifer is back home. Jorge reveals she is, but she doesn’t want to stay with Mauricio. Kika thinks it’s only fair, as Mauricio has been very cruel, and Jorge suggests she find someone else to be with, someone who appreciates her. They get very close but immediately separate when Valentina walks in with a scarf. Kika thinks it won’t suit her but desperate times call for desperate measures. She thanks them both and walks out of the cul-de-sac with sunglasses and the scarf around her head.

Kika tries to get away quickly but Mauricio sees her and runs after her, so they can talk. Kika explains that she came to talk to him but Tono’s children attacked her. She states that he’s surrounded by hooligans and Mauricio agrees but thinks they were only defending their friend. Kika shrugs and then tells him that everything in her life goes wrong before walking away. Mauricio stops her and tells her that he believes she’s a good person, deep down, even though it didn’t work out between them. He wonders why she used Anifer to get revenge on him and Kika admits that she came to find out if Anifer was okay and is happy to find out she is. Mauricio nods and tells Kika that he has doubts about her “good” intentions, especially after what she did to Anifer and with Fabian. Kika warns him to be careful with Fabian, as he is a snake deep down, and leaves him with some food for thought: if Fabian is really his brother from another mother, why didn’t he tell Mauricio immediately when he slept with her? Mauricio considers this…
