Papa A Toda Madre #47: If You Can't Trust Your "Bro", Who Can You Trust?
Or A Snake in the Grass is Revealed
Rodrigo walks into Neron’s shop and demands to know why Pablo hid the fact that he was in Mexico illegally. Pablo looks worried and very contrite and Neron tries to argue that Pablo is a very good man, but Rodrigo laughs at the fact that they tried to trick him earlier, by acting like a mute and then pretending the funny words Pablo used were form another part of Mexico. Either way, he warns them that Jorge is looking into the deportation process for illegals and he assumed it was because of him. Neron begs Rodrigo to reconsider, and not arrest Pablo, but Rodrigo makes it clear that he’s not there to arrest him because he’s a hard-working man, not a criminal. Neron and Pablo thank him and they all shake hands with a smile. Rodrigo leaves them with one final warning: if someone else reports Pablo, there will be nothing he could do for him them. Pablo and Neron look even more worried.
At Logatoys, Fabian gives Mauricio the DNA results for Anifer and Mauricio thanks him. Mauricio then asks about Falcon, because they are launching the toy production tomorrow, but Fabian reiterates that he has disappeared. He then assures Mauricio that he can trust him, and hopes he has no problems with the new toy production. Mauricio hopes so too and Fabian leaves as Mauricio thinks back to when Anifer gave Fabian her eaten lollipop as a DNA sample and took it too the lab to be analyzed. Mauricio now looks more suspicious of Fabian’s actions.
In her office, Veronica finishes a call as Tina walks in to tell her about her upcoming meetings and appointments and then reminds her that the higher ups need her answer about the promotion soon. Veronica sighs heavily as she’s still deciding.
On the street and behind a car, Renee and Rafael wait for Angel to come outside his house so they can talk to him. Rafael wonders if they will recognize him, as the picture they have is 30 years old, and Renee is sure she will. Just then, Angel walks outside, and Renee recognizes him immediately. She approaches him and confirms that he is Angel before introducing herself as Renee, the daughter of Catalina, and he is her father. Angel shakes his head and states that it is impossible that he is her father.
Mauricio looks over the DNA results and highlights the portion that confirms Mauricio’s paternity. Jorge then walks in looking for said results (Mauricio calls him “Jose” but he knows his real name) as Gladys walks in right after and hands Mauricio an envelope before complaining about the long hours and little pay. She leaves in a huff and Jorge assures Mauricio that he is happy with his pay, but his name is, once again, Jorge, not Geronimo or Jose. Jorge then leaves as well, and Mauricio opens the envelope Gladys gave him to reveal a second DNA test, which states that he is not Anifer’s father. Mauricio is shocked.
Renee is confused that about the relationship between Angel and Catalina, as he wrote her all those love letters, and Angel explains that his love was plutonic as he loved her very much, but she never accepted him, and nothing ever happened between them; they weren’t even boyfriends. Renee is now even more confused as Angel explains that he and Catalina were only co-workers and she always told him that she would love to be in love with him, but it was not meant to be. Renee considers this as Angel tells her that the heart wants what it wants.
Mauricio can’t believe the DNA lab could make such a giant mistake. He highlights both results and remembers when Fabian assured him that he could trust him. He then remembers when Fabian suggested doing a DNA test in the first place. He then remembers when Fabian offered to get a loan for the company, because he loves him, just like a brother. Mauricio slowly comes to realize that everything that has gone wrong in his life lately has Fabian’s fingerprints all over it. He hopes that Fabian can offer a logical explanation (doubt it!)
At school, Baldo can’t believe Lili would fall for Pablo and agrees with Jorge that he is beneath her. Lili can’t believe he is a racist, just like their father, and Baldo reminds her that he will be keeping a close eye on her, as part of her punishment. Baldo then states that Pablo has disappeared, as expected, and Lili chides him for being a racist as their mother always taught them be good with everyone. Baldo demands she stop taking about it because her punishment is final, and she won’t see Pablo again; he assures her she will find someone new, but Lili doubts it and storms off.
Renee goes to a restaurant with Angel and he explains that, after Catalina rejected him for so long, he quit Logatoys and moved far away. He only found out that she was pregnant later, when he came back, and he found out she was in love with another man then and this is why she never accepted him. Angel assumes this man was Renee’s father, but he can’t offer anymore details as Catalina never shared them with anyone. He confirms that she was also always alone, so no one ever saw her father. Renee is disappointed that her mother lied to her all her life, but Angel cheers her up by stating that he always hoped Catalina would love him and he would love to be her father but isn’t Renee thanks him and Angel then leaves as his current wife is very jealous. He pays the pill and bids her goodbye as Rafael watches from afar. Renee looks sadder than before.
Mauricio comes out of his office to find Jorge waiting for the DNA results. He asks Mauricio for them, but Mauricio promises to hand them over later. He then walks off, as he has to go resolve some things, as Jorge and Gladys wonder what he is talking about. Gladys assumes Mauricio has lost his marbles and Jorge is so bitter that he can’t see what has happened (Guys, Barbara Torres makes so much out of so little. Love her!). Jorge considers this but leaves after a moment.
At home, Tono irons closes and thinks about how he went from a renowned professional to full time slave. He then places the iron on a pair of jeans he’s ironing and goes to the kitchen to look for food. He finds it empty and then calls Veronica to tell her he is going to the supermarket but Tina answers, much to Tono’s surprise. He can’t believe how solidarity they are with Veronica, as they are always answering her phone, and Tina confirms they are like a family. She then explains that Veronica is in a meeting with the big wigs about the new office and some such thing. Tono can’t believe Veronica accepted the new job and hangs up before running to the living room because his jeans are burning from the hot iron. He removes the iron but burns himself in the process and curses his luck.
Mauricio goes to the DNA lab that performed the second test and confirms that DNA results are 99% correct but there is a margin for error. The doctor offers to look it over, and puts on his good glasses, before telling Mauricio that he understands the problem: he is the father and doesn’t want to accept the responsibility. On the contrary, Mauricio wants to accept the responsibility, but the tests say Anifer isn’t his. The doctor nods and Mauricio wonders if there has been some error. The doctor states that it is impossible that Anifer is his. Mauricio cringes at the thought.
Anifer looks at a picture of her mother at home and wonders why she lied about everything and didn’t even leave a picture of her real father. Rafael comes out with a tea and some food for Renee and offers his support. She can’t believe all the things she has found out since she tried to transfer the ownership of her mother’s home. Rafael asks if she’s going to continue to investigate her real father’s identity or leave everything as is. Renee can only sigh.
Kika is back in her suite, talking to Charytin, about how much she misses Miami and her beloved Calle 8. Charytin tells her to find a way, as she has plenty of resources, but Kika explains that she can’t find her passport and the thing with Trump and Venezuela has made it difficult for her to fly without one. She can’t believe how bad things have gotten for her and Charytin suggests she do a special program for her channel and make better use of her time in Mexico. Kika smiles, because she has the perfect fan in mind to do a show with, so she can stick it to the fan’s father. Charytin wonders if she’s talking about Mauricio but Kika tells her that it’s someone worse, if she can believe it.
The Turrubiantes kids walk home from school and Baldo asks Valentina to prepare some food for him. Valentina chides him for being so lazy, because she always has to prepare the food, and Baldo suggests he tell Jorge how she feels since he asked her to do it. Pablo approaches them then and Baldo insults him before Lili pushes him into the house. Samuel asks Valentina if she knows what is going on, but Valentina would rather not get into it and walks inside with Samuel in tow. Once alone, Lili quickly looks in the bushes and finds the note Pablo left for her. As Baldo screams for her to go inside the house, Lili stuffs the note in her back pack as Pablo walks away.
Renee tells Rafael and Rodrigo that she hopes to have the house in her name soon, so she can sell it to them, but Rodrigo is more worried about her, since she’s going to the US for her master’s degree and asks how long she will delay her trip. Renee assumes it will be around 2 months but hopes the transfer and sale of the property doesn’t take that long. Rafael wonders if she has any other economic help, besides the sale, and Renee explains that she also got a scholarship from a company Sonia suggested. She originally rejected it but, when Logatoys removed their offer, she had to reconsider. After a tense moment, Rodrigo whispers something to Rafael and Rafael tells Renee that, they were wondering if she would be able to donate an ovum to them, so they could have a child. Renee is speechless.
Lili walks into her bathroom with her back pack and reads Pablo’s note which states that he can’t wait any longer and is crossing the border soon. He asks if she is willing to come with him and Lili writes back that she is before folding up the note and smiling.
Rafael and Rodrigo hoped Renee could be their surrogate and lend them her uterus but she is leaving soon and so they propose she donate an ovum and they will find a surrogate on their own. Rodrigo makes it clear that this offer is made out of respect for her and because of how much they love and care for her. Renee smiles and Rafael states that, with her help, they can become fathers. She asks them for some time to think it over though, as it’s a lot to process in a short amount of time. The guys are more than happy to oblige and they all agree to talk it over later.
Mauricio arrives at the address where the first DNA tests were performed and asks the guard if he is at the right place. The guard confirms he is but there was never a DNA lab at this address, and he’s worked there for 15 years. Mauricio is floored.
Tono arrives at Veronica’s job and storms into Veronica’s meeting. He finds her at the head of the table and demands to know what she is hiding and making decisions behind his back. He also wants to know why she makes him iron so much and shows her the burn on his hand as Veronica apologizes to her co-workers and grabs Tono to check if he’s drunk. Tono is not and demands to know how he is going to get used to living in Texas. Veronica screams that he is not going to live in Texas because she just rejected her boss’s offer. Tono smiles but Veronica is furious.
Mauricio arrives at the pediatric clinic with the address of the DNA lab and confirms that they don’t perform DNA tests there and never have. Mauricio is shocked, and the receptionist asks if he’s okay. Mauricio shakes his head and admits that he’s never felt worse in his life.
Tono apologizes to the whole table of executives as Veronica tells him that they will talk later, and he should go home. Her boss suggests she leave them alone, so they can talk and they all walk out. Once alone with Tono, veronica grabs him and demands to know what the hell is wrong with him that he felt the need to storm into her meeting and tell everyone their problems. Tono frees himself and tells her that she is the one who’s changed and continues to lie about her hair and the truck. Veronica reminds him that he is the only liar because she only wanted to surprise him with hair and the truck while he was kissing other women. Tono thinks she should thank him for being honest and Veronica sarcastically retorts that she should be happy that he broke his bro code and tell her the truth and Tono looks angry. Veronica warns him that she can read his thoughts and Tono wonders if she knows what he’s thinking at this exact moment. They stare at each other then, furious.
Mauricio picks up Anifer from school and she kisses him on the cheek before asking why he’s so serious. Mauricio explains that he has a lot on his mind before asking how her project is going. Anifer tells him that she’s ready for tomorrow and then asks about his toy production. Mauricio explains that it’s ready to launch tomorrow and he is planning a small celebration. He then tells her that she is his honored guest and Anifer is happy to see her design in action. Mauricio is happy she is smiling but Anifer then grows serious and asks if she can see her mouth. Mauricio promises to take her in the weekend and then asks her to sit back as they are going home. Anifer gives him another kiss, as Mauricio smiles, and obliges.
Tono claims that it’s Veronica’s fault that things are so bad as she insisted they switch roles, but Veronica reminds him that she got a job first and they agreed she should take it. She then reveals that she rejected the new job offer, for him, but he can’t even appreciate it. Tono thinks she should move so they can take a break, and, after a moment, Veronica agrees that a break may be the best thing for them. Tono can’t believe she wants to get divorce but Veronica is confused as she never said divorce. Tono then realizes he forgot the kids and kisses Veronica goodbye so he can go get them. He catches himself and looks at Veronica before leaving, screaming that they will continue their fight at home.
As they have dinner in silence, Anifer asks Mauricio and Renee what is wrong that they are all quiet. She asks Mauricio why he looks so serious and Renee why she hasn’t said anything about her father. Mauricio is shocked to hear about this and Renee provides some details, namely, the fact that her father wasn’t who she thought he was. Anifer hopes she finds her father and gets to know him, as she would like Renee to have a father like her, but Renee reiterates that things aren’t always easy. Mauricio nods and suggests they “leave things as they are” while looking at Renee and she tells to be quiet so they an eat. Anifer looks just as confused as when she first started talking.
Tono brings his children home and asks them about their homework assignments; Tina and Ernesto are done, and Fidel has no homework. Veronica then calls him to confirm he picked up the kids and to confirm she will be working late. Tono thanks her and hangs up.
Kika goes to visit Valentina to tell her the good news: she wants to do a show with her. Valentina is ecstatic and tries to hug Kika but Kika holds her back as her dress is very expensive and wrinkles easily. Samuel overhears but doesn’t think Jorge will let Valentina do the show though Kika thinks he should butt out. Samuel reminds him that Jorge doesn’t want her close to them but Kika could care less and asks Valentina if they can do the show in her house. Valentina agrees but asks her siblings not to tell Jorge anything. They prefer not to have trouble with Jorge, but Valentina threatens to cut off their food supply and they all agree to be quiet. Kika, however, can’t understand how Jorge has turned Valentina into a submissive woman, who cares for such a lazy group of people, and Valentina silently nods.
Later, Veronica is walking on the sidewalk when Tono calls to ask if she can pick up some dog food for Rola and not any food, the special dog food Rafael told them. Veronica says she will and then hangs up.
Jorge comes back to Mauricio’s office, to ask for the DNA tests again, and Mauricio explains that he will have them in a few fays as he got the wrong results. Jorge reminds him that the tests will be very important for Anifer’s name change and then walks out as Fabian walks in and asks Mauricio why he’s so down. Mauricio looks pissed as all hell.
Jorge goes into his office and takes a small break before checking on his kids via the secret camera he installed. He is shocked to see Kika in his living room, “a demon dressed in designer closing.”

He promises to send him a detailed report either way, and Mauricio looks at him. Fabian asks him what the problem is, as he looks so worried, and Mauricio explains that he’s worried about the upcoming toy production. Fabian slowly nods and then tells Mauricio that he’s been monitoring Falcon, lest he show up when the toy production is underway and mess everything but hasn’t been able to locate him. Mauricio nods now and Fabian continues to wonder what his issue is. Mauricio admits that he’s excited about the new phase of the company and wonders if Fabian remembers how long they’ve been friends. Fabian thinks it has been for all their lives and Mauricio reminds him that he was his only family member before Anifer appeared. Fabian reminds him that it’s the same for him but wonders why Mauricio is taking a trip down memory lane. Mauricio admits that he was thinking about all things he’s always asking him to do, things he should take care of personally, like burying Maria. Fabian smiles and tells him not to worry about it before patting Mauricio on the back and leaving. Once alone, Mauricio’s fake smile melts as he considers the sort of snake he’s had in his home this entire time…

Tono thinks she should thank him for being honest and Veronica sarcastically retorts that she should be happy that he broke his bro code and tell her the truth and Tono looks angry. Veronica warns him that she can read his thoughts and Tono wonders if she knows what he’s thinking at this exact moment. They stare at each other then, furious.
Mauricio picks up Anifer from school and she kisses him on the cheek before asking why he’s so serious. Mauricio explains that he has a lot on his mind before asking how her project is going. Anifer tells him that she’s ready for tomorrow and then asks about his toy production. Mauricio explains that it’s ready to launch tomorrow and he is planning a small celebration. He then tells her that she is his honored guest and Anifer is happy to see her design in action. Mauricio is happy she is smiling but Anifer then grows serious and asks if she can see her mouth. Mauricio promises to take her in the weekend and then asks her to sit back as they are going home. Anifer gives him another kiss, as Mauricio smiles, and obliges.
Tono claims that it’s Veronica’s fault that things are so bad as she insisted they switch roles, but Veronica reminds him that she got a job first and they agreed she should take it. She then reveals that she rejected the new job offer, for him, but he can’t even appreciate it. Tono thinks she should move so they can take a break, and, after a moment, Veronica agrees that a break may be the best thing for them. Tono can’t believe she wants to get divorce but Veronica is confused as she never said divorce. Tono then realizes he forgot the kids and kisses Veronica goodbye so he can go get them. He catches himself and looks at Veronica before leaving, screaming that they will continue their fight at home.
As they have dinner in silence, Anifer asks Mauricio and Renee what is wrong that they are all quiet. She asks Mauricio why he looks so serious and Renee why she hasn’t said anything about her father. Mauricio is shocked to hear about this and Renee provides some details, namely, the fact that her father wasn’t who she thought he was. Anifer hopes she finds her father and gets to know him, as she would like Renee to have a father like her, but Renee reiterates that things aren’t always easy. Mauricio nods and suggests they “leave things as they are” while looking at Renee and she tells to be quiet so they an eat. Anifer looks just as confused as when she first started talking.
Tono brings his children home and asks them about their homework assignments; Tina and Ernesto are done, and Fidel has no homework. Veronica then calls him to confirm he picked up the kids and to confirm she will be working late. Tono thanks her and hangs up.
Kika goes to visit Valentina to tell her the good news: she wants to do a show with her. Valentina is ecstatic and tries to hug Kika but Kika holds her back as her dress is very expensive and wrinkles easily. Samuel overhears but doesn’t think Jorge will let Valentina do the show though Kika thinks he should butt out. Samuel reminds him that Jorge doesn’t want her close to them but Kika could care less and asks Valentina if they can do the show in her house. Valentina agrees but asks her siblings not to tell Jorge anything. They prefer not to have trouble with Jorge, but Valentina threatens to cut off their food supply and they all agree to be quiet. Kika, however, can’t understand how Jorge has turned Valentina into a submissive woman, who cares for such a lazy group of people, and Valentina silently nods.
Later, Veronica is walking on the sidewalk when Tono calls to ask if she can pick up some dog food for Rola and not any food, the special dog food Rafael told them. Veronica says she will and then hangs up.
Jorge comes back to Mauricio’s office, to ask for the DNA tests again, and Mauricio explains that he will have them in a few fays as he got the wrong results. Jorge reminds him that the tests will be very important for Anifer’s name change and then walks out as Fabian walks in and asks Mauricio why he’s so down. Mauricio looks pissed as all hell.
Jorge goes into his office and takes a small break before checking on his kids via the secret camera he installed. He is shocked to see Kika in his living room, “a demon dressed in designer closing.”
Mauricio asks Fabian about the location of Maria’s burial site, so he can take Anifer, though Fabian doesn’t think that’s a good idea. He promises to send him a detailed report either way, and Mauricio looks at him. Fabian asks him what the problem is, as he looks so worried, and Mauricio explains that he’s worried about the upcoming toy production. Fabian slowly nods and then tells Mauricio that he’s been monitoring Falcon, lest he show up when the toy production is underway and mess everything but hasn’t been able to locate him. Mauricio nods now and Fabian continues to wonder what his issue is. Mauricio admits that he’s excited about the new phase of the company and wonders if Fabian remembers how long they’ve been friends. Fabian thinks it has been for all their lives and Mauricio reminds him that he was his only family member before Anifer appeared. Fabian reminds him that it’s the same for him but wonders why Mauricio is taking a trip down memory lane. Mauricio admits that he was thinking about all things he’s always asking him to do, things he should take care of personally, like burying Maria. Fabian smiles and tells him not to worry about it before patting Mauricio on the back and leaving. Once alone, Mauricio’s fake smile melts as he considers the sort of snake he’s had in his home this entire time…

Well, I thought that R and R would ask REnee to be their surrogate, but I never guessed that these neighbors would want to borrow some eggs. I have noticed that RAfe seems to adore REnee, so it is no wonder that he would choose her to be the mother of their child. She is pretty, smart, kind. Great genes. There is plenty of interesting material with Renee and her NOT Father and lying Mother, Mauricio and Anifer and Fabian than to clutter this show up with the sweet things who want to circumvent Nature and A squabbling married couple.
If the boys want a baby, hey, they are welcome to try. If successful, good for them, but don't bring in science and technology to cause something to happen which nature never intended. IT NEVER WORKS FOR THE BEST ! Ever hear of unintended consequences? Just adopt one. There...that's my PSA.
How heartbreaking for Mau to discover that Anifer is not his bio daughter. This should have nothing to do with his love for her, but the sad fact is that an actual Father may be lurking around the corner somewhere.
Now our poor Mauricio has discovered not only that Anifer is not his, but that his life long 'Friend' is stabbing him in the back and anything but a friend. For the first time we are seeing poor Mau looking genuinely pensive and sad at the realization that a LOT of things are not what he had thought.
On the bright side, he is actually doing something. Unlike most of the TNs we have watched, where all these revelations would have necessitated a nice long NAP, Mauricio is running around investigating and THINKING.
I hopeo he plays his cards close to his vest and does not let Fabian see that he has figured him out while he compiles the hard evidence he needs to maybe put him in jail or at the very least give him an old fashioned DF style ass kicking.
I have to wonder how much money Fabian has stolen and how much of it is still unspent. Hiring Falcon and Co. could not be cheap, and as far as we know, LogaToys is Fabian's only source of capital.
So now almost everything in Mauricio's universe is suspect, especially the Juan Perez or whatever his name is who led them to Maria Cruz's site of demise.
And Miss Renee, dead people can't answer a lot of questions can they? She has no clue who her Daddy is, her Mom is dead, and as far as she knows she has no siblings, she may as well stop spinning her wheels and get on with her life, if we are to believe the fellow she talked to who swore he was not her Dad. And he appeared to be a really nice sincere man who felt for Renee and admitted to knowing her Mom. Next.

Kirby, excellent point about Mauricio actually THINKING. That is always one of my complaints about the traditional novelas: the villains are incredibly astute, think, plan and never miss an opportunity to act in a timely manner while the protagonists just lollygag around completely confused about what is going on, not thinking, not wanting to believe what they see and never quite getting up enough energy to take action before it is too late.
Lucio, I think Pablo feels he can be rude to Pablo because he sees him as being from a lower class and out of his “place” being interested in his sister.

So sad Mauricio isn't Anifer's father, and just as he was getting into the role. All we need now is Maria to come back to life and take her away from him. If Fabian is the father, how cruel of him to use his daughter as a pawn. Anifer was used to prevent Mauricio from selling the factory earlier in the story.

The R&R Egg Hunt especially sticks in my craw. Anyone and everyone is free to disagree, but I see it as completely selfish. You are going to bring a child into life under those circumstances simply because you WANT one? If you're bored go buy a drone or motorcycle. Kids are unforgiving. I'm not talking about the egg kid, but his classmates for a decade. Kids today are more demanding of conformity than they were years ago. Just because you want a kid is not a good enough reason. Life does not bestow every blessing available to mankind on every living creature. If you were born that way, so to speak, then maybe you were not born to have kids. A child will go through life explaining how he/she came into this world or live a life of secrecy.
BTW, one of the fellows should have knocked Tono out and sent him home in a van.

Tono interrupting the meeting was awful. I was starting to feel sorry for him, but he lost a lot of points with me by acting like a petulant little boy. Time to grow up ,Peter Pan. If you cannot get a job and buy the bread and your wife can, the two of you have to work things out because you have three kids and a dog to provide for. One has to Go with the flow and ride with the tide.

It's one thing to "host" an embryo to birth, where the egg and sperm come from elsewhere. This is not your bio-baby, but a traveler in your body. But to have your own egg fertilized and then turn the baby over to another, even if you have visiting rights, is like putting your baby up for adoption. No way will Renee do this. I actually find it offensive that Rafael and Rodrigo would ask her this. They are clearly putting their needs above hers. Hombres, adopt. The child-parent bond is just as tight. Lots of adopted folks in my family.

Niecie, one of my best friends adopted a baby boy. On more than one occasion, I have said how much he resembles her and she has to remind me that he is not her biological child ! She gave birth two years later to a girl. I see no difference in the way she relates to them. My cousin adopted two boys from Korea, and another cousin adopted a girl from China. In every way , they are their parent's children.

Yeah I don't think that Rafa and Rod have really thought the egg thing through. But I had a gay male friend ask me if I would consider donating an egg and I told him I couldn't do it. I couldn't have a bio child out there and not be with me. I think some women can be okay with it. They eventually bought an anonymous donor egg and found a friend to be the surrogate. Worked out well. I could see Renee carrying a child not hers for them.
I really don't like how Baldo is treating his twin sister. I'm really disliking all of the Jorge men.

Yeah I don't think that Rafa and Rod have really thought the egg thing through. But I had a gay male friend ask me if I would consider donating an egg and I told him I couldn't do it. I couldn't have a bio child out there and not be with me. I think some women can be okay with it. They eventually bought an anonymous donor egg and found a friend to be the surrogate. Worked out well. I could see Renee carrying a child not hers for them.
I really don't like how Baldo is treating his twin sister. I'm really disliking all of the Jorge men.

I agree that the best thing for everybody would be for R&R to adopt. It would solve their problem and also the plight of a kid with no family. We have had several adoptions in my extended family and everyone has benefitted.
But to be fair to R&R, especially Rafa who started the idea of a "child of their own", I suppose it is only natural to want to pass along your genes. I'm not sure that having children is ever a 100% selfless act.
Still, good adoptions do make the world a better place, and make for very good karma.

If the boys want a baby, hey, they are welcome to try. If successful, good for them, but don't bring in science and technology to cause something to happen which nature never intended. IT NEVER WORKS FOR THE BEST ! Ever hear of unintended consequences? Just adopt one. There...that's my PSA.

You are going to bring a child into life under those circumstances simply because you WANT one? If you're bored go buy a drone or motorcycle. Kids are unforgiving. Of course, if Mauricio had paid attention in high school Biology class he would have known a few weeks ago, right after the blood test when Anifer had her accident, that he wasn't her father. A fake Mauricio, distributing M necklaces (I agree, probably Fabián), would explain why whoever María entrusted her child to would leave Anifer with the real Mauricio.

JudyB what you say makes a lot of sense. There is an undefined 'Something' there between Mother and child which we men and non Mothers readily acknowledge, but do not truly understand. But we have seen it, and not just in humans. Not being a real parent, I can't comment with authority on all this, but it looks like a solution of last resort, so to speak. But I really shouldn't care. Telebabies and Teletubbies and their NooNoo are just on TV, right?

I love all the Crockpot Theories™ about Fabian, Renee's mother, etc. The writers have written quite a tangled story. We've all had our doubts about Fabian and it seems he really is not a good guy. What if the secret guy-in-charge is his father? Do we really know if Fab's dad is dead or alive?

What I find hard to believe is that the only memory he has of her is glancing at her a party...and then he goes and also remembers seeing Perez there; yet he couldn't remember Kika whom he had known for at least two years. Rgv Chick - I think your theory about Fab's father/Mau's mother, along with Fab's envy motive are Both excellent theories. Fab's envy is one of the seven deadly sins. This telenovela I'd chock full of PSAs and social commentary, do why not toss in one of the seven deadly sins? (pride, greed, lust, envy, gluttony, wrath and sloth). Sure Kirby. I love Mondays. I have an aerobics class I like and afterwards I go out to dinner with some fun folks from that class. Great break from cooking and cleaning at home. Like you latest eagle pic.
