Papá a Toda Madre, Episode 34, 3/5/2018: Mau is Turning Into a Father and It Feels GOOD...But Not to Kika!

Alt Title: Honor Thy Children or Be Dishonored

[Previously: In Miami, Arístides tells Mau that when he arrived from Venezuela many years ago, he had nothing…not even a dollar. He only had his wife who was pregnant with Charitín and Kika who was still very small. At that time, they were his only treasure. Mau understands perfectly well because he is also a father. Arístides argues that Mau knows nothing; he was born in a golden crib…Arístides was not! Everything Arístides has, he earned through his work and much effort…thanks to the strength that his family gave him. It was not easy because he encountered many enemies. When Mau supposes that he is referring to his father, Mau also asks Arístides to explain why he is blaming Bosco for the fraud that sent Arístides to jail, but Arístides remains silent.] (Red Flag #1)

In front of the school, Toño runs up yelling for his kids. When they come out and hug him, Toño apologizes to the teacher for being late. As they get ready to leave, the kids worry about Leo, who is still there, but his mother comes running, so the teacher tells Neto he doesn’t have to worry about Leo anymore. Leo’s mother apologizes and explains to the teacher that it was her ex-husband’s turn to pick up Leo, but he couldn’t make it. As Toño and the kids walk away, Leo’s mother wishes all fathers would as responsible as Toño (Oooh, if she only knew!). After the teacher leaves, Leo’s mom turns toward Toño and smiles.
In Miami, Arístides tells Mau that he doesn’t have to explain anything; he doesn’t want to remember the miserable time he spent in jail. (Red Flag #2)  If his daughter wants to talk to Mau about it, Arístides can’t avoid it; she is an adult. When he tells Mau that he has no right to know anything more, Mau reminds him that this has to do with his father, but Arístides tells him not to waste his time; what’s done is done! (Red Flag #3) After Arístides yells that Mau should get out of his house, Mau shakes his head and tells Arístides that he wants to know what really happened. Mau continues that he and his father were never close, but he is sure his father was not corrupt. When Mau tells Arístides to prove him wrong, Arístides repeats that he is not going to tell Mau anything and tells him to leave, (Red Flag #4)  but Mau will not leave until Arístides tells him the truth because his father was many things, but he was not a liar; though he sometimes sinned for being so blunt. Arístides points out that any father would lie to his sons rather than see them disappointed. Mau smirks and responds, “And there you have it; you just said it yourself.” (Red Flags #5, 6, 7, and 8) When Arístides asks what Mau is insinuating, Mau continues, “That it was you who lied. That just to save the image that your family has of you, you preferred to blame my father for a fraud he didn’t commit!”
[Oh, my!! Maaaww has a brain! He must have beat me to the Wizard!]
At Veronica’s house, Tania admires how Toño has decorated the table…very romantically. When Neto is confused because there are only two plates, Toño explains that today, they will all eat at the smaller table; and tonight the kids will go spend the night at Renée’s house…so they have to be quick with everything they need to do. After he sends them off to pack their night bags, Toño calls Veronica to ask how things are going in Monterrey and to tell her that there will be a surprise waiting for her. (You Luuurve surprises, right Toño? Remember your answer for later.)
In Miami, Arístides tells Mau not to turn things around; he was a victim of Bosco Lopez-Garza! When Mau questions why Arístides never accused his father when he was arrested, Arístides responds that he didn’t have proof. (Red Flags #9 thru 23) Mau then questions why he never protested, so Arístides explains that he didn’t want his family affected. Mau assumes that Arístides preferred to give up rather than fight for justice; so Arístides justifies that those were different times, things were not as easy as they are now, but Mau thinks that whether it was then or now, any father would lie to avoid disappointing his daughters. When Arístides questions if Mau thinks that was the case with his own father, Mau replies that his father never mentioned anything to him; and there is no documentation about it at the company. Mau continues that he only found out about it because of what Kika and Arístides have told him. When Arístides tells Mau to leave his daughter out of it, Mau wonders if he knows that Kika and his other daughter hacked up a plan to take revenge for what his father did to Arístides, but Arístides has no idea what Mau is talking about. (Yes, maybe because it never happened)
Meanwhile, Charitín chides Kika for forgetting how they were affected because of their father being in prison…their father’s friends refused to help them; people dubbed them as the daughters of a criminal…it was a nightmare! When their mother adds that it was the worst time of their lives, Kika understands, but adds that Mauricio did nothing. When Charitín yells that they had a plan, their mother wonders what plan they are talking about. After both sisters avoid the question, Charitín yells that she is going to finish what Kika started.  (THE Plan, or in the Hotel, Charry?)
After Mau explains to Arístides that since his daughters couldn’t take vengeance on his father, they decided to take vengeance on him, he asks Arístides if he can imagine how far they would have gotten because of his lie, but Arístides is adamant and denies it’s a lie. When Mau wonders what it would cost him to tell the truth—nothing but the truth—Arístides asks what proof Mau has, but Mau has nothing except his own intuition as a father…he has a seven-year-old daughter whom he has been lying to; and now he doesn’t know how to tell her the truth because he doesn’t want her to be disappointed in him. (Mau plays his hand full of trump cards)  Just then Charitín storms in cussing at Mau and followed by Kika and their mother. Arístides holds her back as she continues to yell that Mau deserves to suffer for what his father did.

When Arístides tells her that he already knows what they were planning, Charitín confesses that the idea was both hers and Kika’s because she will never forget all those days that he was locked up. After Arístides comments that Mau shouldn’t have to pay for that, Charitín cries that justice had to be served somehow; so Arístides confesses that justice was done…because he lied…the only one responsible for the fraud was him. They were about to make a partnership to set up a branch of Logatoys in China. One of the factories that was interested in producing the toys offered him a bribe to keep one of the projects…and he accepted. They know the rest of the story. When Mau asks how his father was involved, Arístides admits that he did it on his own. Bosco tried to help him, but there was no way to avoid going to prison. Arístides then asks Mau to try to understand; he didn’t want to appear as corrupt in his daughter’s eyes…Bosco was always an honorable man. Arístides hopes that, wherever Bosco is, he has forgiven him. After he asks his family for forgiveness, Charitín hugs him, but Kika doesn’t know if she can forgive him. After she walks out, Mau comments that it’ll be a matter of time before Kika will get over it…he hopes. (Note to self: Not all Fathers are bad, just all Fathers in this TN.)
In a park, Lilí sits on a swing as Pablo helps her with her homework. When she asks him why he gets nervous, he replies that it’s only with her and asks about their kiss…since he had never had a stolen kiss like hers. After she asks if he thought it was too forward or if he liked it, Pablo responds that he definitely liked it and would like another one, but not stolen; so he takes her behind some bushes and gives her a kiss…

Later, Mau calls home to see how things are going. When he asks Anifer what gift she would like from the USA, Anifer somberly responds that he can bring whatever. Mau then tells her that he will return to Mexico the following day, but Anifer is still somber when she replies, “That’s good;” so Mau sarcastically responds that he can see her jumping with joy so he will see her soon and she can tell him in all her seriousness what she did all the days that he was away. After Anifer tells him to check his mail to see if her mother has written to her or called her, Mau tells her that he will tell Renée to check his email. As Mau tells Renée that he will notify her when he writes an email for Anifer from her mother, Kika listens at the door. (Mau, remember, compared to a man's hearing, a women's hearing is like something developed at NASA) After he hangs up, Kika invites Mau out to relax since everything has been cleared up…because she wants everyone to know how much they love each other and that they will marry soon, but Mau doesn’t seem as enthused… (As in, have you ever been to the stockyards? Yeah, about as enthused as your future hamburger looks!)

At Veronica’s house, Toño kisses the kids good-bye as they leave with Renée. Once alone, Toño saunters into the dining room, puts on some romantic music, practices his amorous dialogue and drenches himself in cologne.

In Miami, Mau writes his fake email to Anifer. He writes, “…my days are very long without you. I can’t always write to you, but though this is a short letter, I want you to know that I do not stop thinking about you. I know your father takes good care of you; and I ask that you do your part in getting along with him. I know Mauricio is somewhat distracted and that sometimes he doesn’t know how to express his feelings, but I am sure he loves you very much and does the best he can to see you happy. If Mauricio sometimes doesn’t tell you things up front, don’t be angry with him. It’s not that he is a liar; it’s that he is just learning how to be a father and how to deal with a child as intelligent as you are. Be patient with him, my love. Whenever you have something to tell me, write to me; and I will write back soon.” After Anifer smiles as she finishes reading her letter, Renée calls her to go have dinner.
At a restaurant, Mau stands pensive as Kika comes looking for him. Kika tries to cheer him up and asks him if he isn’t glad to return to his old lifestyle. Mau flippantly agrees; so Kika wonders why he is so serious and looks like a fish out of water. When Mau remarks that she should talk to her father since she can’t avoid this problem for the rest of her life, Kika doesn’t want to talk about it and wants to go for drinks, but Mau refuses because they have to return to Mexico the next day. Kika then reminds him that tomorrow they have to complete the deal so that she can invest in Logatoys. Mau wants to finish up the deal and return to Mexico as soon as possible, but Kika wonders why the rush and leads him off to meet her friends and drink the night away…though Mau can only think of Anifer… (Fake accent, fake hair, plastic this, added on that, something from Spencer's Gifts for a heart, or Anifer…Go figure!)

When Kika notices and asks what he is thinking about, Mau replies, “Kika, I’m turning into a father…and it feels good!!”
At Jorge’s home, Baldo and Lilí are studying with their friends when Jorge comes in and sternly calls Baldo and tells him they have to talk NOW! When Baldo points out that he is in a group study, Jorge suggests that Baldo be taught his lesson in front of his buddies so that he can learn from it. Baldo tells him to tone it down, but this only infuriates Jorge more and they get into a shouting match. Jorge yells. “I will tone nothing down! You are an atheist and maybe that’s why you don’t know about the ninth commandment: You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife! You are too young for a woman like that…a woman who has just become a mother! Find your place in this world and stop going after that woman!” Baldo yells back, “Don’t be scolding or yelling at me in front of my friends! Find your own place in the world! I am no longer a kid; I will soon be of age!” Jorge grabs Baldo by his shoulders and retorts, “You are going to be of age…that’s great, son! While that happens, you are in my house with my rules and I forbid you from gallivanting after Flor Ivonne! I’m saying it clearly because I am not going to repeat it!” Baldo counters, “Sure! Sure! And here, the only one who can break the ninth commandment is you, right? You were with your wife and my mother at the same time!” Jorge SLAPS Baldo as he finishes with, “Hypocrite!!” Jorge turns away as Baldo pushes against him as if daring him to do it again.

At Veronica’s house, Toño paces anxiously as he waits for Veronica who is late. He tries calling her, but the call goes directly to voicemail so he leaves her a “nice” message that it’s getting late and he can’t wait to see her. After he sends kisses and hangs up, Toño is quite frustrated and wonders where she is.
At Jorge’s house, Baldo asks Jorge if he had to do that in front of his friends. Jorge asks Baldo to forgive him; he doesn’t know what got into him. When he tells Baldo that he provoked him and he lost it, Baldo chides him for blaming it on him and huffs before telling him, “And you still want us to call you ‘father’ instead of ‘Jorge?’ As the other kids watch, Baldo walks out as Jorge hangs his head in embarrassment.
Mau calls home to see how things are going and asks if Anifer read the letter he (María) wrote. Renée tells him that Anifer didn’t tell her much about it, but after Anifer read it, her face brightened up. Mau admits that it is the most important letter he has sent her and he was afraid it would be too suspicious…and that Anifer would figure out it was really from him. Renée confides that though she is not in agreement with what he is doing and after seeing Anifer sad for so many days, it did benefit Anifer to read the letter. Mau doesn’t even want to think about how Anifer will cry when she finds out about her mother; in summary, he is fried. Renée thinks he will have to find a way to tell her; though it will not be easy. When Renée tells Mau that she has to hang up because she has Toño’s kids there to spend the night, Mau jests that he knew she was brave, but to have all of them there is too much…he warns her to be careful especially with Fidelito. After Renée remains quiet, Mau asks if she is still there; so Renée comments that the more time passes, the less he acts like the irresponsible boss she had. Mau smiles as Renée tells him that he is getting closer to being the father Anifer deserves.
Outside, Baldo takes out his anger by kicking some play equipment. After Rodrigo and Rafael run to him and ask him what’s wrong, Baldo tells them that the guy who calls himself his father just struck him in front of his siblings and friends. Rodrigo is angered and tells Rafael that if he could do that to Baldo, he could do the same to Sami. As Rafael holds Rodrigo back, Baldo asks what he is talking about; so Rafael asks Baldo if he has noticed the bruises Sami has on his arms…aside from his fingers being smashed. Baldo yells, “I wouldn’t be surprised if Jorge did all of that to Sami; Jorge just gave me a hard slap…he is crazy! Jorge isn’t satisfied with anything; he is a control freak…he treats us badly…he hits me; I don’t know what to do!” After Rodrigo tells Baldo to calm down and that everything will be fine, he turns to discuss it with Rafael. (Just keep throwing out those evil boomerangs, Jorge!)
In the Miami restaurant, Kika and Mau continue to socialize with her friends who are talking about a “she” who is beautiful. Mau thinks they are referring to Anifer, but Kika clarifies that they are talking about a yacht. Her friends then ask who Anifer is; so, like a proud father, Mau starts showing them Anifer’s picture, but the friends start moving away and Kika motions at them to leave. After they leave, Kika chides Mau for not enjoying the night; she took him out of her house so he could celebrate for what he found out about his father. (Correctionaminty Kikaminty, what he found out about your Father, actually!) Mau tells her he is truly happy; and that is why he is tired. He wants to go and sleep, but Kika insists on enjoying the night since it is just beginning. When Mau tells her that this is Anifer’s bedtime, Kika will forgive him this one time….but she is not one to go to bed early…not even when she is sick. She then tells herself that this is the price that a woman in love must pay. As she kisses him, Mau pushes her away and wonders if Anifer has already gone to sleep.
At Mau’s house, Renée tucks Anifer and Tania in bed as Fidelito and Neto express that they’d rather be in their own home and wonder why their father wants to be alone with their mother. Renée explains that sometimes adults have things to discuss that children don’t need to hear. When Anifer points out that the kids would be asleep and wouldn’t be able to hear anything, Renée adds that even though they are asleep, they sometimes hear things. When she asks them if it isn’t more fun that they all sleep together as if they were camping, the kids agree. Anifer then asks Renée if they can invite the kids over again when she starts building her robot …so they can all help; so Renée clarifies that she only has the plans right now, but when she starts building the robot, she will invite them over. (Building a high tech robot in the midst of a rug rat rodeo, what could go wrong?)

At Veronica’s house, Toño is still waiting for Veronica, but gets tired and turns off the romantic music. As he puts his head on the table, Veronica , who is at a beauty salon, calls to tell him that she’s up to her ears in work because there were complications (yes, Veronica being at the beauty salon can be so-o-o complicated!); so she will have to stay. Toño thinks she is kidding, but she assures him she is not kidding; she worked for hours and it isn’t till now that she was able to take a break. When she adds that she still has a ton of work to do and she is dead tired, she tells him she will not be able to return today. When Veronica asks about the children, Toño responds that they are fine. He is taking care of them; it’s just another normal day (as he bites and spits out rose petals). Veronica is sorry and adds that it has been years since he has had the bed to himself; so he should take advantage and sleep sprawled out. Toño counters that she should also sleep comfortably and relaxed; he will tell the kids. After he hangs up, Toño has a fit as he yells and furiously scatters the rose petals. Meanwhile, Veronica tells the beautician that she doesn’t like to tell half-truths, but the beautician tells her it will be worth it; she will look beautiful for the surprise she has for her husband (and it’ll probably go over like the surprise car she bought!).
At Rodrigo’s house, Rodrigo tells Baldo that parental abuse is against the law. When Rafael asks him to confide in them, Baldo shares that Jorge punishes and mistreats them all the time, but he went over board this time. Jorge didn’t just hit him, he humiliated him in front of his friends. Rodrigo suggests to Rafael that this could be considered family violence and could be taken to court. As they argue in a low voice, Baldo wonders what they are talking about and if Jorge can go to prison for mistreating them….that is if they say that he humiliates them and hits them. Rodrigo confirms that can happen, but only if what Baldo is saying is true, since it is a very serious accusation that could affect them all. Baldo assures them it is true and thinks that what happened to Sami was not an accident…Jorge must have smashed his hand…he is sure of it. When he reminds them of the bruises on Sami’s arm and thinks Jorge did cause them, Rafael nods and agrees with Rodrigo.

At Logatoys, Falcón tells Juan Perez that production starts tomorrow; and he does not want any excuses. Perez reminds Falcón that they have gone over the plan several times; so he knows perfectly well what he needs to do. Falcón is satisfied and comments that they will let the machines do the rest.
Baldo enters his father’s home and stares at the family picture before Jorge approaches and says he is truly sorry. He was in error and asks Baldo to forgive him. When Jorge tells Baldo that he needs him to understand that he doesn’t know what to do to control them, Baldo responds that is his problem; he only tries to control them and doesn’t try to understand them. Jorge thinks Baldo is right and again asks for forgiveness. After Baldo remarks that he will be the talk at the school and everyone will say that his father hits him, Jorge doesn’t think that will happen, but if it does, then what the students will be doing is wrong. Baldo thinks that only happens in Jorge’s perfect world, not in real life. Jorge then tells Baldo that he needs to learn from everything that has happened…to control his impulses, but Baldo isn’t up to sermons or evangelistic shows from Saint Jorge Turrubiartes; so he goes to his room. (Jorge, did you sign up for a refresher course on those rules, also known as laws, which you love so much?)
The Next Morning—
Toño is setting the table as Tania comes and tells him that her mother is not in her bedroom. After Toño tells the kids that Veronica had to stay in Monterrey, a new and improved Vernoica walks in. Tania thinks she looks very pretty…like Shakira, but Toño shows no reaction even when Veronica swaggers over to him showing off her hair and kisses him. (Tono, by the grace of the TN Fidelity Gods, she is here, as you are not the only man on Earth.)

So Veronica turns to her kids and hugs them as she tells them how happy she is that she gets to see them before they go to school. When the kids tell her about their sleep over with Anifer and that their father had fixed up everything with flowers and candles, but then threw everything, Veronica wonders where he threw everything; so Toño quickly says, “In the trash!” and goes to the kitchen. (But the Fidelity God's decision is not set in stone, Thin Ice Walker)
In Miami, Mau is on the phone with Fabián and asks him why they have to start production without him. Fabián assures Mau that it’s nothing personal; Falcón just decided to move things forward. Mau insists that they wait since he will be back that night, but Fabián tells him there is no time since they are about to start the machines. When Fabián asks if he can still take some days off, Mau agrees since Fabián deserves it. Fabián assures Mau that he will return as soon as he can and offers his regrets for everything including what he said about Kika…and now for this with Falcón. As Mau tells Fabián that he will take care of business, Kika comes in because Mau has been on the phone for hours and they still have to go see about her investment. When Mau asks if there will be enough time to go to her office and then to the airport, Kika assures him there is. ( Oh, and add liar to that Kika vs. Anifer list)
At Veronica’s house, Veronica goes to the kitchen and asks Toño what’s going on. Toño tells her that he set everything up for nothing because she forgot about their anniversary. He wonders if she has ever seen anyone so dumb since she was SO busy that she even had time to dye her hair! When he asks why she didn’t let him know that she was going to do that, Veronica gets upset and responds, “Let you know, Antonio? Seriously? Do you let me know when you let your beard grow or when you cut your hair? Why didn’t you tell me you were going to cut your fingernails?” Toño doesn’t think it’s the same since those are normal things to do. When he tells her that she is no longer herself and questions if she only did it to upset him, Veronica replies that she feels hurt that he doesn’t like it. She did it as a change for herself, but also for him…so that there can be something different between them. It was a surprise for the special day that she didn’t forget because it is TODAY! As she hands him a gift, she tells him, “Happy anniversary!” but since Toño just scowls and stands there with his arms crossed, she throws it on the table and walks out leaving Toño looking and feeling like the idiot he is.
In Kika’s office, Kika signs the contract for the investment. Mau thanks her and tells her he is going to triple the amount of her investment. When he tells her that they can now return to Mexico, Kika sits him down and tells him that she was thinking that they should stay in Miami for a few more days…and OOPS, she already changed the date for their flight. When Mau is not pleased, Kika tells him not to get upset; after all Fabián and Falcón can take care of the company. When she adds that while they are there, they can start thinking about some new business, Mau wonders what she is talking about. Kika explains that they can stay in Miami, meet with her contacts who are businessmen and they can look at the possibility of expanding the business to other cities such as Chicago, New York…whatever! Mau comments that would require that they spend a lot of time in the USA. When he reminds Kika that he has a daughter to take of, Kika understands that his life changed when he became a father, but now he has to deal with their life as a couple…plus she doesn’t want to leave without making amends with her daddy. Mau is glad she wants to make amends, but doesn’t think it should take long; though Kika thinks that when Mau gets all of Anifer’s papers in order, he can bring her with them and they can be a beautiful family…since that is what the child needs. She then adds that while that happens, they can stay there in Miami to enjoy themselves…by themselves…(And while you are on the subject, so you know she is sincere, ask about getting busy working on a little sibling for Anifer.)
At Jorge’s house, Jorge hurries the kids out of the house as the police drive up. After Jorge asks the kids what they did now, the cop tells him he is under arrest for child abuse. Jorge turns to look at the cop; and as Baldo and Lilí smile and nod, Jorge says, “Excuse me?”  (One of those ‘Rules’ BOOMerangs just returned!)

In Miami, Mau tries to explain about Anifer, but Kika interrupts and tells him he has nothing to worry about since Anifer has the nanny who takes very good care of her; and if the little one is happy with the nanny, then Mau should just leave her over there. When Kika adds that he can just pay Renée a little bit more, Mau tells her that he can’t imagine himself living with her and without Anifer. Kika thinks that the important thing is that he resume his previous life…they can walk around naked, drink champagne, go to the beach. Mau thinks they can do all of that, but the important thing right now is to go back to Anifer; so she needs to change back the flight right now. When he opens the door and tells Kika that they need to be on their way to Mexico, Kika tells him that she is getting fed up with his little song..and he has to make a decision: he either stays in Miami with her or he can go back to Mexico with the pretty little one…it’s up to him. When Mau asks if she is threatening him, she responds that it is an ultimatum and that he needs to tell her his decision now before her financial consultant finishes up the transactions for her investment. If he leaves, there will be no reason for her to invest in Logatoys. Mau seems floored…(Oh Boy, better now than later)

RVG Chick: I recognized the actor, who portrayed the late Salazar from Telemundo's "EL SENOR DE LOS CIELOS".

Thanks mucho RGV Chikie. Quite entertaining. I apologize to everyone for those blonde Vero pictures I dug up a few days ago. I had no clue she turned into a blonde in the show. Yikes. She does look good.

I am really beginning to like Mauricio. He is turning into a loving Daddy and growing a brain. The rest of it is just fine tuning. Somehow he managed to drag it out of PapaKik that he lied.

Did Charytin grab a letter opener to go after Mau when the three wenches stormed into Papa's office?

How much more can Vero take?

Lilly and Pablo sitting in a tree
K I S S I N G
First comes Luuuurve
Then comes marriage
Scratch that, nobody gets married to have children
Then comes Lilly with a baby carriage
and a restraining order.

At least Mauricio is seeing the real (kid hating) Kika before he actually is hoodwinked into marrying her. The whole family has a few screws loose from what we saw tonight.

More with coffee

Steve, I didn’t watch “El Senor de Laos Cuelos” but I assume yiu’re Talking about Arístides, Kika’s father who was too much of a coward to face his children with the truth for several years.

Kirby, you’re very welcome and Mau is turning into a likeable character; I just hope he keeps those neurons working. I think Kika is gonna get her big a$$ kika’d outta Mau’s life real quick!

Baldo is treading in murky waters...hope he doesn’t drown,

Vero’s hair looks so much better. Now it truly does look like her own naturally bleached blonde hair.

More tomorrow ((yaawwn))

Baldo jumped the gun and Lily relished it. But don't they realize they're all going to end up displaced and end up in a group home or something? Everything they do never takes into account how they may affect Sammy or Valentina.
I get the feeling that they've always been brats. Except that now Jorge is their motive to be bigger brats. And yes Jorge did go overboard with the hit, but he did apologize. Baldo and Lily need to realize their behavior leaves much to be desired too.

Thank you, CHickie. I did not see the show last night , so I especially appreciate your recap and screen caps.

Vero looks really different as a blonde.

Pablo and Lily are moving too fast.

Well, time to batten down the hatches because the weather folks predict that another noreaster is headed our way tonight. They are predicting that our area will get 7 to 10 inches of snow. Bah.

(Mau, remember, compared to a man's hearing, a women's hearing is like something developed at NASA)

Love that insight Rgv Chick! So true. Women hear better and smell better (in both sense, sorry guys). Maybe that's why we're usually in charge of food preparation in the home. We know for sure if something has gone "off".

Well, Kika showed her hand clearly this time. And so did Mauricio. He's a Dad. Actually I was quite impressed that Kika's dad fessed up. If he were truly a coward, he NEVER would have told the truth.

And ditto for Jorge. His behavior was lamentable but he apologized. Immediately. Which is unusual.

My mom never ever apologized for mistreating us. She told herself that if she did, she'd be losing her "authority", but actually we would have respected her more. Of course once I became a mother, and especially when my children became teenagers, I understood her flares of temper a lot better.

Great recap and screen caps Rgv Chick. Although enjoy you and your Ghost writer.

Susanlynn, so sorry that another nor'easter is coming your and Diana's way. What a horror. It seems that both coasts are getting hit with catastrophic weather patterns.

Thank you, RgvChick, for another excellent recap!

Kirby, no need for apologies about photos of the blonde Verónica. Liked the “restraining order”. Very funny.

Susanlynn, here is hoping you get a lot less than 7-10 inches. Stay safe and warm!

I am glad that the mystery about Kika’s father, Bosco and the fraud has been solved. Now, who is behind the plan to destroy Logatoys?

Yes Susanlynn, ITA that it is too soon for kissy time or “whatever” in the garden for Lilí and Pablo.

Toño spritzing himself ALL over with the cologne was very funny. Too bad he didn’t get the anniversary date right.

Too bad Jorge had to slap Baldo the Brat. Looks like this is going to get worse before it gets better.

Mauricio looked so pleased with himself hearing Renée tell him that he was turning into the father that Anifer deserved.

So glad that Kika showed her hand to Mauricio.

JudyB, I do not think the term “child abuse” even existed when I was a kid.

RgvChick, your "voice" is remarkable. You display the perfect "tone" - always - light when it is warranted and honest and sober when needed. Excellent recap and screen shots.

"[Oh, my!! Maaaww has a brain! He must have beat me to the Wizard!]" Oh my, clever, clever, clever…

“Kika, I’m turning into a father…and it feels good!!” And we are thrilled! You can literally see his face softening and affection shining from his eyes.

Pablo? So, so sweet. Ang genuine.

Kirby, when Mau is "real" he is extremely likeable.

With the sweet comes the sour.

While Jorge continues to flail and fail, Baldo continues to lash out. He is so unhappy, I am hoping he and Jorge can find their way to each other without too much more turmoil. And yes Anon, Sam and Valentina are rarely (if at all) considered by their sibs.

"Women hear better and smell better" - I agree Judy! :)

Judy and Susanlynn, yes, a storm is a comin'. Supposed to snow all day tomorrow and into Thursday. Sigh.

This soared like Kirby's incredible eagle.

Thank you, thank you!

Diana

Morning Jarifa.

Our comments crossed.

"Toño spritzing himself ALL over with the cologne was very funny" - ITA!

I'm glad you mentioned the hair. Is is just me or was it strange that several inches of darker roots showed?? I didn't get that. Unless it's a new trend that I of course am totally unaware of :)

Diana

Diana, Verónica’s hair looks like an extreme version of the relatively recent popularity of “ombre” hair. I think I would have liked it more if the color change was more gradual as what I have seen.

Ooooh. "Ombre" hair! Yes, my understanding is that it's different shading of the same color not one totally different. But what I know would fit in a fashion thimble.

Thanks Jarifa!

Diana

Diana, I only know what my hair stylist tells me. LOL

I thought the same thing about Vero's dark roots. It looked like the hoochies around here who are three months overdue for a touchup. Must be something new, like the factory destroyed jeans. When will they start selling rusted silverware as steampunk? There is a weather bunny around here with blonde shoulder length hair, with the lower 6 inches dark brown. ? ? ?

OK, the voice of reason here about Baldo. It was just a slap. A nice one, but I am sure, seeing the way he is, girls at school have delivered far better slaps. In any given TN two women will invariably deliver far superior SLAPs than Jorge managed. He doesn't deserve jail or legal troubles. It was not the thing to do, because he did it in anger, while out of control, but Ballsdo actually deserved it or something equivalent. If he keeps stalking MILFs he will earn a lot worse, and not from an apologetic Father, or at least not his. I think I am beginning to agree with Anon 12:30 that they were already fairly accomplished brats and now it is really surfacing. The kids have a legitimate gripe with Jorge, and he with them, and they all seem determined to not solve it sensibly. I feel much worse for Val and Sam. Their Mom is alive, but may as well be dead. Ballsy and Lilly's Mom has a genuine reason for not being with them, she died.

Watching the transformation little Miss Anifer has wrought on Mauricio is one of the most enjoyable things I have watched in a TN in a long time. Kids run dogs a close second in unconditional love, giving freely even when it is not deserved, and asking nothing in return. It's working on Mauricio, It is heartbreaking it is not universally as effective.

If Ms sex appeal with the funny talk thinks she can compete with that she has more than a couple of screws loose, like not just loose, like missing completely. She had no game last night as Mau just wanted to go HOME rather than mix it up with her jet set friends and drink. It is unfortunate that Mau and Logatoys needs her money so badly. Maybe we will see that they actually don't. That would be cool, to see Miss Anifer and her toy designs, Renee Robot and Mauricio with his rejuvenated brain save Logatoys in spite of everyone else.

Rgv Chick - Thank you for your recap ... and the snark! ;-)

I'm so glad Kika's father came clean and so quickly. #dontdragitout

I was thrown off by those roots in Vero's hair, too. "Ombre" hair? That's a new one on me. I either live a sheltered life or things arrive here in the South a bit later. Mexico City is a known fashion capital, so things trend there a bit sooner than here.

Susanlynn and Diana - That winter storm looks like another bad one. Even national news is talking about it this morning. Our son is up in New Hampshire snow skiing right now, 100 miles NW of Boston. Hopefully he'll have a safe drive back to Logan airport on Thursday. I'm not going to mention that hubs and I are on a 7-day cruise in the Caribbean next week. I'll have PATM and Caray!/internet access withdrawal.

Kirby - "...and a restraining order." had me LOL. Good one!

The whole Toño/Vero role-reversal story is spot-on. It's just weird to see these roles reversed, and so accurately, including waiting up with the fancy dinner planned and then the no-show. Although usually the housewife does not get the anniversary date wrong.

Uy~ Jorge is a complete jerk but not a child abuser that warrants arrest. I hope Baldo learns a big lesson from this. The kid is still grieving the loss of his mother, on top of the shock that his "uncle" is really is father, he has been uprooted from his lifetime home/town, and basically on house arrest since he has been living with Jorge. Really, we have not seen Baldo and Lili do much grieving, have we???

"When will they start selling rusted silverware as steampunk? " LOL!!!

Okaaaayyy.... just now Googled "ombre hair". Hmmm.... I could dye my back to my original color and then let the gray grow back in. Reverse-ombre. Naaaahhhh.....

"I feel much worse for Val and Sam. Their Mom is alive, but may as well be dead. Ballsy and Lilly's Mom has a genuine reason for not being with them, she died". Me too Kirby.

I've had the nagging suspicion they were rather spoiled and selfish. Their having no regard for their half sibs is obvio. I know Baldo is angry and I can't blame him. But doris, you nailed it with "Jorge is a complete jerk but not a child abuser that warrants arrest".

Hmmm, reverse-ombre? Now that would work well for me, but think I will pass. :)

Diana

My best guess on the month's worth of dark roots is to add that sexy Fake Skank Factor.

But what do I know.

Baldo has time in his immense grief to chase a married new Mom who could almost be his Mom.
I know, we all deal with grief in different ways, but? ? ?

Thank you, Rgv Chick.

Fathers' scorecard:

Mauricio - A
Not doing anything stupid already deserves a praise. Having intuition about the matter and Getting Arístides to confess was impressive. More points for having his mind on Anifer and not on partying and Kika.

Jorge - F
Wrong way to approach the matter with Baldo. Wrong way to do it in front of everybody. Hitting is unacceptable. I think getting arrested will be a good lesson for him.

Toño - D
Points for romantic effort, but lost all of them and more for having a fit in the morning when Varo came back with a haircut. The situation could have been a win for him but he messed it up.

Nerón - No show.

Arístides - B
Though denied it at first, finally accepted his lie and faced the consequences.

Lucio..I like that

Everyone grieves in different ways, but I don’t think the twins are really grieving her either. They need to stop invoking their mother from the grave with their casa chica insults. They should at least respect her memory. Also, in the same way Baldo did not like that Jorge humiliated him in front of his friends, he should also stop humiliating Jorge every opportunity he gets. They seriously need to talk, because Baldo looks like he could get violent. I do believe in a way he deserved that slap, but where Jorge failed was that the whole event was public. If they were speaking privately maybe it wouldn’t have escalated so much.

That being said, I think Yuriria had a hard time with them too. I know they’re especially mad at Jorge, but their behavior isn’t even taking any effort. The way they started to demand the truth from their mom was very telling. She must have coddled them too much. Also it’s interesting to note that a few episodes back, when Valentina complained that Lili wasn’t helping in the kitchen (and possibly the rest of the chores?) Lili responded that she didn’t know how. So when they lived in Tijuana, knowing that their mother was sick (and it was visually evident she was seriously sick- Yuriria couldn’t hide that), did they help with anything in the household at all? Lili shows her selfishness now just by not even trying to help Valentina. It’s ironic that Valentina is younger and can already do more than her.

I actually don’t like Veronica’s new hair, I think it’s too much to take in at once. Funny that she considered it a present for Tono when it was really for herself. Does anyone else think that she’s been getting distant with her kids? I know her and Tono switched roles, but being a working spouse never eliminates a mother’s role.

Maia (Anon@1230)

Good Morning, Patio Pals! and THANK YOU everyone for your generous and wise comments...so many good ones already!

Susy, “I get the feeling that they've always been brats. Except that now Jorge is their motive to be bigger brats. And yes Jorge did go overboard with the hit, but he did apologize. Baldo and Lily need to realize their behavior leaves much to be desired too.” It does seem that Baldo and Lilí were spoiled and I can see why Yuriria would spoil them since they were pretty much raised without a father…I’m not endorsing that but that could have been Yuriria’s thoughts. I also think Anon 12:30 makes a good point, “Baldo jumped the gun and Lily relished it. But don't they realize they're all going to end up displaced and end up in a group home or something? Everything they do never takes into account how they may affect Sammy or Valentina.” The twins aren’t thinking about anyone else, but as Doris so eloquently stated, “The kid is still grieving the loss of his mother, on top of the shock that his "uncle" is really is father, he has been uprooted from his lifetime home/town, and basically on house arrest since he has been living with Jorge. Really, we have not seen Baldo and Lili do much grieving, have we???” No we haven’t seen them grieve and I’m sure they are quite jealous of Sami and Valentina for having the home and opportunities they didn’t have…and thought Dulce is not present, Sami and Valentina still have a mother…technically. When Baldo kept looking at the family picture, I could just feel his anger. So as Kirby stated, “The kids have a legitimate gripe with Jorge, and he with them, and they all seem determined to not solve it sensibly. I feel much worse for Val and Sam.” Val and Sam are getting the worst of the backlash, but think about it, now that Jorge is being accused of child abuse, this would be the perfect opportunity for Sami to fess up and tell them what he has been really doing. The kid needs help; and maybe this will open Jorge’s eyes and he will get Sami the help he needs.

JudyB, “I was quite impressed that Kika's dad fessed up. If he were truly a coward, he NEVER would have told the truth.” I was glad he fessed up, but I think the only reason he did it was because he saw that the girls had so much anger and hate toward the Lopez-Garza family…the only way they could start to heal is if he told the truth.

Jarifa, “Mauricio looked so pleased with himself hearing Renée tell him that he was turning into the father that Anifer deserved.” He DID looked pleased, I really Mau in those moments. As Diana commented, “when Mau is "real" he is extremely likeable.” And Kirby, “Watching the transformation little Miss Anifer has wrought on Mauricio is one of the most enjoyable things I have watched.” When Mau thinks about Anifer or when he is with her, it just brings a smile to my face.

Kirby, If Ms sex appeal with the funny talk thinks she can compete with that she has more than a couple of screws loose,… It is unfortunate that Mau and Logatoys needs her money so badly. Maybe we will see that they actually don't.” I’m hoping that Logatoys is really not as bad off as Fabian indicates, but even if it is, I’m really hopeoing that Mau kicks KiKaNoScrews to the curb! Hey, if she looses all her screws will she fall apart…literally???

Doris, I had never heard of 'ombre' hair either...and it's interesting that trends pop up in Mexico City sooner than the South (USA) because I've always considered trends to pop up sooner in the North, West and East USA before they get to the south...so we must be like a...blackhole??? LOL

Hi Everyone, Thanks RGV!!!

Jorge was screaming, uncontrollably screaming at Baldo for what? Baldo being a young guy with hots for the neighbor? Yeah he looked in windows one day but that was it. And then he slaps the boy. Or was Jorge just mad to see kids in his house without his permission and used Baldo as an excuse to get angry? Because his anger seemed to come quick and hard. Remember he wasn't too disturbed when Neron came to his office. He humiliated Baldo and the other kids in front of their school mates---which when you are a kid is like death. I'm sorry but Jorge deserves everything he gets at this point. I have no respect for him. He has anger and control issues. Baldo may be acting like a brat but what Jorge did was far far worse and he is the adult. I don't care that he apologized--the damage was done. Jorge shouldn't be a father. He has done nothing to help any of the kids get over the loss of their mothers.

I hate Vero's hair.

Mau worrying and thinking about Ani was just awesome. Loved him pulling pictures of her out to show Kika's friends.

So what are JP and Falcone up to?

I felt bad for Tono. He tried to surprise his wife because she said she would be home and she calls to cancel very late and at the last minute. The problem is that neither know how to apologize to the other. It is all about being right or winning. These two are heading in a bad direction.

Maia (Anon@1230), WELCOME!!! I was still writing when you posted, but you give very good thoughts on Baldo, Lili and Yuriria...and "where Jorge failed was that the whole event was public. If they were speaking privately maybe it wouldn’t have escalated so much." ITA, that was a very bad call Jorge made!

Lucio, Love the scorecard..and I completely agree with the ratings!

Carvivlie, in regards to Jorge, "He has anger and control issues." Yes he does and that is just to name a few issues he has. Jorge is still grasping on to old and rigid ideas instilled in him by his father and, sorry to say, the church. I do not condone what Jorge has done, but he needs help too. He (mistakenly) went to the only person he could confide in (the priest) and was told to abide by the "rules." His only hope is to get some sense of how he has failed as a father so he can start getting some good advice/counseling.

RGV, agree he needs some really good advice or counseling but that won't happen until he realizes he is wrong and I don't see that happening anytime soon.

Welcome Maia!

"...actually don’t like Veronica’s new hair, I think it’s too much to take in at once. Funny that she considered it a present for Tono when it was really for herself". Wow. You are fitting right in! :)

Diana

Carvivilie, "So what are JP and Falcon up to?" I'm not sure, but Falcon moved up the production of the toys so it could start before Mauricio gets there; and he mentioned that "the machines will do the rest" so I'm thinking Perez is going to do something to the machines and something is going to go terribly wrong with the production of the new toys.

I don't know why he, Falcone, would invest in Logatoys and then try to sabotage it? It is already in trouble. Is he trying to make it bankrupt and then buy up the rest?

Chickie...I was not the one who commented on Baldo and Lily being brats even before they moved in with Jorge, but I agree. We have not seen them grieving in the form of tears, but teens are different from adults. Those teen spirit hormones may be responsible for them acting out in odd ways....defiance against Jorge.....Lily forming such a quick attachment to Pablo....Baldo , the peeping, lustful Tom. That whole family needs counseling.

Now the prediction is for anywhere from 4 to 14 inches of snow..gee . Right now ,it is sunny and clear , so it is hard to believe this storm is approaching.

Vero seems to be going through an identity crisis herself. She buys a car without saying anything to her spouse and then changes her hair color dramatically while on a business trip. I have never dyed my hair except once just before I started college, so I do not know much about coloring trends. I usually notice dark roots in bleached blonde hair. I guess there is always something new.

The two granddaughters whom hubba and I bet ready for school every day, have a book of questions that they answer every morning at breakfast. Today's question was :Whom do you feel safest with? Both answered "my family." If only all children could answer that question that way.

Carvivlie, there seems to be some mystery man directing Falcón so who knows.

Susanlynn, it always drives me crazy when the weather forecasters have no good idea of what is coming which makes them pretty useless at times. There is a big difference between 4 and 14 inches of snow. Here is hoping you get closer to 4 than 14!

Oops, sorry Susy, that was Maia (Anon 12:30) who made that statement so my apologies to Maia too!

Susy, I hopeo it's only the 4 inches of snow and not the 14. A cold front came in when I was out feeding the animals this morning, but the temps will only go down to the 50s. Sending warm (((((VIBES))))) to you and Diana.

Carvivle...yes, maybe that is Falcone's scheme. Hostile takeover?

Is anyone watching the 10.00 show? I missed it last night. If it is good I might record it.

Chickie...thanks. I am in a state of disbelief right now because it is so sunny and calm out . I feel like I should be doing something to get ready. The 7year old asked me if we had a generator this morning !!!..we don't!!!

OT-This is the only "Snow" I have--her name is "Nieves" which translates to snow ->->->->

She had sister named "Blanca" (White) but she is now in doggy heaven.

RgvChick, cute names for cute puppies!

Hi, thanks for the welcome! I've been reading the recaps for a while now and greatly appreciate them.

Rgv chick, your dog is so cute! Blanca and Nieves are such cute names for two sisters.

I agree with Vero's identity crisis. She's getting random and I guess more independent? I never really saw her as being dependent on Tono, but I sense that she's getting detached from her family. It's been two or three times that Tanya's asked "Where's mom?" in the morning. And it's been a few times that Vero comes home and casually says she's overworked and has so much work to do, and we see her go off to rest (I think). Tono spent more time with his kids when arriving home from work. Granted that for Vero it was like adding in another child, but he still spent more time with them.

If Tono was smart he could have pretended that last night was a preview for the actual anniversary.

Maia

Sorry Susanlynn, not watching the 10pm show. I'm bored seeing Julian Gil playing another male chauvinist, bad guy. Also, i'm pathetic and can't stay up that late!

"If Tono was smart he could...."
Shave
Take a shower
tell the truth
treat his kids like his kids rather than a new pet
tell the truth
get a haircut
tell the truth
stop killing animals
respect his wife
Do something, anything, productive
Not use cologne as breath freshener
Return his clothes to Goodwill and go shopping at an actual store
Act like a parent rather than a sibling
tell the truth

Yes Maia, there were a hundred ways Tono could have made the best out of a bad situation, all of them involved not being murderously selfish.

When my wife used to come in with new hair, that night I always secretly felt like I was doing something deliciously immoral without fear of getting caught. Woof.

Susanlynn, I am not watching but Urban posted a recap for the first episode and background for the novela “Por amar sin ley”. There seems to be a patio forming.

I'm not watching PASL either. I don't care much for the racier TNs...but that does seem to be the trend now...racy with/without violence.

Kirby, is that Junior getting his morning exercise? Nice shot!

Thanks, yes it is. He has been working it like crazy lately. Though unlikely, I would love to be there with a camera when he finally takes that leap of faith and jumps out into thin air.

' much for the racier TNs' well you missed some rrrrrracing last night when the strippers were at the bachelor party.

RGV in this shot, which is otherwise pretty worthless, you can see he has a full set of flight feathers now, and he feels it.

I'm much happier now that I've seen the sweetest dog (what a cutie pieshe is RgvChick!) and extraordinary colors in our amazing show off eagle.

Susanlynn, your question as to who the kids feel safest with brought a lump to my throat.

Yes, I also hope Tono "stops killing animals" among many other things on your list Kirby. I think Vero is coming into her own. That said, I loved her before and I hope she doesn't lose her kindness. I want her to get Tono to "wake up" but don't want her close bond with her children stretched...

Carvivlie, I'm not watching the later show either. I was a bit relieved it was Gill (same old same old role as you and others have noted) & Zepeda, not enough reason to continue to lose sleep.

Diana

I begrudgingly watched last night. I still have not forgiven Gil for marrying my Telenovia and making her unhappy. You make Marjorie or Susanna G cry, and I hate you, I don't care whose "fault" it supposedly it was.

Could Vero be developing the seven year itch?

Love the new avatar photos Rgv Chick and Kirby. And welcome Maia! Always so nice when someone new joins in the discussion.

Doris. I wondered out loud about that the orther day, judging by her children's ages. It would not be the first time, though TN people tend to be substantially MORE faithful than the general populace. ! ! ! Uh huh.....

The more I think about Baldo the more the windows peeping clarifies. On the surface, seen from outside, it appears pretty harmless. And probably the only thing that saved me as a kid, is there were no hot neighbors within walking distance.

But from inside the house, unless Baldo has called ahead and let Mrs. Cleaver know he is coming by to leave some nose prints on her window, she might not recognize that pair of eyes and it could be pretty unsettling.

Thanks JudyB

Kirby...ah... Baldo as a horny Eddie Haskell.

Chickie...another cute pup....I believe that is #3 right?

Thanks, Rgv Chick.

ITA Baldo and Lili must've been brats before moving in with Jorge. There's no reason for them not to be more giving to Valentina and Sammy.

Jorge's no abuser (at least not physically) but slapping a kid in the face, especially one he's not close to, and in front of the kid's peers, is a very bad idea. But I don't like Baldo at all and peeking in other folk's house is creepy.

I like Veronica's shorter cut, but I agree the inch of dark roots meeting blonde is jacked up. Like she used an ombre home kit instead of going to a professional.

No Gil or Zepeda fans here, huh? I'm watching PASL, hoping the writers give Gil, who I like as a villain, more depth than in Hasta el fin del mundo. Since Zepeda is in this, I guess there will be no part 2 of La doble vida de Estela Carrillo any time soon.

Kirby, Marjorie is doing okay over there on Telemundo.

RGV Chickie, thanks for another great recap, with screenshots and more. The snarky, even naughty, remarks made my day :-)

Toño... ouch. I suppose everybody was as shocked as I was that he got the anniversary date wrong, which is to say not shocked at all. Well, sometimes you have to hit rock bottom before you start back up. Let's hope.

I never did see that Veronica's hair was a wig, I just don't have that female gaze. It will take me a little time to get used to the new Veronica.

Jorge is not a child abuser, but he totally screwed up with Baldo when he humiliated him in front of his friends, and as carvivlie said, "---which when you are a kid is like death." The other comments on Jorge were also spot on.

Hello, Maia!

Andy

Niecie and Andy, you're very welcome!

I'm anxiously waiting for tonight's episode...hoping that Mau stands his ground.

Talking about hair, I really like Neron's hair...lots of hair stuff on it, but it does look nice!

Susy, yes, that's #3

Thank you RGV Chick for spectacularly detailed recap along with the screenshots.

Wow, just wow! I am wondering how Mau likes being so manipulated by Kika? When someone tells you “it’s either me or your child” and threatens to walk, ha! Let them walk. Then you run, don’t walk to the nearest exist. Kika is even more selfish than Mau was and he has made marked improvement.

So now we know that Veronica got a new hairstyle. At least we don’t have to look at that wig. To me, wigs just really stand out and look like wigs. I wonder why the actress went blond? I wonder if it is because she is getting older and too many gray/white hairs are making an appearance. So Toño got the anniversary wrong. He needs to kick himself in the butt for being such an ass.

The rest of you probably don’t agree, but I feel sorry for Jorge. Child abuse? Come on! And now we have the gay couple contributing to something that isn’t their business. I think Rafa and Rodrigo just want revenge against Jorge because Jorge does not agree with same sex marriage or homosexual practices because the Catholic religion forbids it. He is protective of his children being exposed to it as “normal” and they hate it. So without investigation, (Rodrigo is a detective you know, he should be on a quest for the real facts, but he is emotional and biased) they decide that Jorge abuses his kids. Granted Jorge reported the animals for being unregistered/unlicensed, but that is not the same is falsely accusing someone of child abuse. I have a friend who had her kids taken from her and her husband because people who were mad at her kept calling CPS. Each time CPS came out and found no cause. But by the 7th report, CPS took the kids even though there was no cause. It took months to get her kids back. Taking the kids away did more harm to the kids than anyone else because of false accusations perpetrated by people who were trying to take revenge on my friend. Anyway, slapping a belligerent 17 year old who is extremely disrespectful and is being a voyeur/peeping Tom with the neighbor and an accident with Sam does not make child abuse. The whole family needs therapy to work out their problems and anger issues.

This comment has been removed by the author.

Cynthia. I agree. I said above that the girls in these TNs customarily slap each with much more vigor in every TN. I only faulted Jorge for slapping him in a fit of anger, rather than because he deserved it.

And yes, 'The Boys' have an axe to grind with Jorge, proving all over again that two wrongs do not make a right, but that is the way the world is.

The little girl a couple doors down called CPS on her parents, who were drunk and having a big fight. They came and took her and her brother for a few weeks. When they got back I bought her a teddybear.
Her Dad mentioned the other day that they learned their lesson. "If it looks like a fight is brewing, we hide the phones in our room." No teddybears for him.

Oh my, what a sad solution to a chronic domestic problem. Hiding the phones so the little daughter can't call for help. You're right...No teddy bear for him! Glad you can be there for her, Kirby.

Yes JudyB. Actually they seem to be benefiting from the stabilizing influence of a benevolent neighbor. I have 'bought' their good behavior by fixing cars, lawn mowers, washing machine, air conditioner, pool pump, etc.with the unspoken understanding that could all change. It may not be right, but it is the best I could do, and the kids are much better off. Like I have said before: Kids come into this world pure, and it is up to the adults to screw them up.for life.

Phew! so glad Veronica ditched that wig! But the blonde hair is not for her...sorry

Wow,Kirby, you are a good neighbor !

Thanks Susy. I could care less about a couple of waste case neighbors, sink or swim idiots, but I just have a soft spot for kids. So if I can befriend the parents in a way that will help the kids I will try.

Great comment, Cynthia about the whole family needing therapy.
