Papa A Toda Madre #59 4.11.18: Making Plans In All The Wrong Places

Or Giving Up Your Future for Love

Renee tells Mauricio that she’s not sure she wants to continue with the master’s program because she prefers to stay in Mexico with Anifer and Mauricio. Mauricio is shocked and goes to sit by Renee, who tells him not to make a big deal out of it, but he insists that the price for them being together is too high. He would love to see her every day but he can’t allow her to give up on her dream. Renee argues that a master’s program is too time consuming, and he needs to focus on his new company and Anifer, while she takes care of everything else. Mauricio nods but doesn’t think it’s a good enough reason so Renee reminds him of all the obstacles in her way since she started the master’s program. She makes it clear that her plan is to postpone the program, for a bit, but Mauricio begs her not to do this for him. Renee shakes her head and confesses that this is the first time she’s in love and she’s not willing to give him up. Mauricio smiles wide as Renee explains that he love is a lot more than simple butterflies because she loves him, truly loves him, and doesn’t want to give him up. Mauricio asks for a moment, stands up, and cheers loud enough for the whole cul-de-sac to hear. Renee runs to him and they kiss and hug.

Jorge eats his piping hot soup with his kids and then asks why everyone left school early besides Samuel. Lili shrugs and then goes into a rant about how Mexico City sucks and she wants to go back to Tijuana. Jorge reminds her that he asked something else as Baldo assures that they will get the money their mother left them at 18 and they can leave. Samuel notes that there’s still some time till that happens when Valentina asks Jorge if he’s going back to work. Jorge almost cokes on his soup and explains that he asked for vacation days at Logatoys because he’s sick. Samuel doesn’t think he looks sick so Jorge coughs up a lung and explains that he will feel worse tomorrow, the flu works that way. He then gets a text from Kika, teasing him about almost getting caught mid-deed and is shocked. He tells the kids that no one at the company can do anything without him and has to answer. Valentina thinks it’s because he’s indispensible and Jorge nods as he goes to the side to look at Kika’s sexy texts about meaningless sex and such. Baldo thinks they are texting him too much but Jorge demands they stop watching him.

Tono tries to help Ernesto with his homework but Ernesto is focused on the show Tania and Esperanza are watching. Tono tries to trick Esperanza into helping him but Esperanza shakes her head. Tono proposes he and Ernesto play a game as Veronica arrives and greets them. Tono can’t believe she’s home at early but Veronica is worried that he won’t give Ernesto the medicine and offers to give it to him. Tono promises to give it to him later but Veronica tries to grab the pill bottle from him and all the pills fall to the floor. They scramble to pick them up and Veronica smells one; she notices it’s a mint and calls Tono over to talk to her. She demands to know if he’s been giving Ernesto mints.

In her room, Kika watches a new Kika video, where she announces her new makeup line, and notices that she’s holding the same lipstick as the one she found in the bathroom. She compares them as Jorge walks in and asks if she’s going to do her homework. Valentina demands to know where the lipstick came from though Jorge shrugs, confused.

In Guatemala, a guard tell Maria that she has a phone call and Maria is surprised. The guard hands her the phone and it’s Falcon, who explains that Mauricio told him to call her. Maria demands to know about Anifer, if she’s okay, and Falcon asks her to be calm because she has news about her daughter. Maria asks him for his name but Falcon dodges the question by telling her that Mauricio has sent him to help her, in everything she needs. He then asks her to pay attention to everything he says and Maria obliges.

In their room, Veronica reprimands Tono for what he did but Tono doesn’t think it’s a big deal. Veronica doesn’t want their children to see them fight, which is the one reason why she’s not making a big deal, but she can’t understand why he would do this. Tono reminds her that he didn’t want to medicate Ernesto, but no one listened, and he was trying to find alternatives. Veronica can’t believe he thinks they know more than a doctor who studied for years but Tono argues that he doesn’t want their child to be labeled as different. For once, Veronica argues with him and Tono asks for more time to figure out an alternative. Veronica breaks down crying then, as Tono begs her to be calm, but doesn’t dare touch her.

Valentina deduces that Kika came to the house, as her lipstick line is new and not sold in Mexico yet, and Jorge thinks she left it during the passport debacle. Valentina doesn’t think so and decides to call Kika, who answers on the first ring. She asks her about the lipstick and Kika tells her the same thing as Jorge, and thinks her brothers probably stole it, though Valentina doesn’t believe her. Kika reaffirms that she isn’t lying and offers to give Valentina her whole line of lipsticks for free. Valentina demands to know what’s really going on but neither budge and Jorge leaves.

Flor and Neron go to the doctor to see if Flor is pregnant though she wished they would’ve bought a pregnancy test as it would’ve been cheaper. Neron already has some baby names picked out, for boys and girls (all of them make Socretes and Cicero look normal), but Flor asks him to be calm because she may not be pregnant. Neron hopes it’s a big, strong boy so he can take care of his sister but Flor chides him for being so sexiest so Neron asks her to teach him to be better. Just then, the doctor walks in and sits down as they wait for the results of the tests.

Tono tells Veronica that things can’t go on like they have, and he must come back home, but Veronica stops crying long enough to tell him that they must take the next step and make the hard decision they’ve been avoiding: a divorce. Tono shakes his head, as now is the worse time to separate, because Ernesto needs them and she’s always at work, but Veronica reiterates that she doesn’t need him. Tono tells her that she does, they need to be together, but Veronica is simply tired of all his lies and foolishness. Tono reminds her that she lied too but Veronica confesses that she doesn’t love him like before and, if he still does, they will talk it over later. She nods and then leaves Tono with his thoughts.

As Renee and Mauricio make out, Anifer comes out of her room and tells them to stop kissing all day. They separate and smile as Anifer asks for the name of the new company and Mauricio asks for a drum roll from Renee as he announces that it will be “Anitoys!” Anifer cheers as do Mauricio and Renee. Just then, Rafael knocks on the door and asks Renee for some time to talk outside. She nods and says goodbye to Anifer and Mauricio before leaving.

Neron excitedly asks the doctor for the good news that their pregnant but the doctor shakes his head. He does want to practice for tests but Flor insists she’s fine. Neron reminds her that she insisted he go to the doctor as well and it’s better to be safe than sorry. The doctor agrees but Flor looks worried.

Renee and Rafael are at her house as Rafael apologizes for his behavior during the whole ovum debacle. Renee accepts his apology and asks him not to worry as it was a stressful situation. They hug and then Renee asks him about any alternative plans to have a child. Rafael shakes his head and confesses that Rodrigo doesn’t seem too sure about having a kid either. Renee thinks they need more time to think things over and Rafael agrees. He then asks about her house and Renee confesses that weird things are happening but she doesn’t need to sleep it ASAP anymore because her plans have changed. She smiles and confesses that love has changed her mind and Rafael smiles wide as well.

That night, Jorge goes to find Mauricio, who is dying to know if Jorge was with a woman that afternoon because he disappeared, but Jorge clears his throat and Mauricio gets the hint. Jorge then explains that he hasn’t told his children that he’s fired and asks Mauricio to keep up the façade that he is still employed. Mauricio thinks his kids are too smart for that but Jorge reminds him that he doesn’t tell Anifer everything either. Mauricio then tells him about his name for the company and Jorge nods but reminds Mauricio that they need a lot of capital. He suggests Mauricio ask for a bank loan but Mauricio won’t qualify for anything; he also states that he doesn’t have any saving or extra money and doubts Tono or Neron will. He proposes they a business plan focused on reproducing their product without funds, and then use the capital that they gain to do bigger and better things. He then asks Mauricio about Maria and Mauricio confesses that he is still shocked that she’s a criminal and in jail. Jorge suggests he reach out to her, writer her a letter even, but Mauricio is unsure.

In the kitchen, Esperanza asks Veronica if she’s sure about her decision, especially because Tono is not all bad, but Veronica has made her decision. She explains that she might’ve loved Tono before, but her feelings have changed and she’s not sure she loves him any more. Esperanza reminds her that it’s part of life, and a marriage, to grow and change but Veronica is unsure of her feelings at this time. Just then, Tono walks in and tells them that he is taking the kids to school so Esperanza leaves so they can talk. Tono explains that he is probably stay at school for the father meeting and Veronica wonders if he doesn’t have work. Tono reveals that he was fired and Veronica wonders what he did now. Tono explains that Fabian fired everyone just because, not because he did anything, but Tono can’t believe he does everything and she doesn’t appreciate it. Veronica reminds him that she works now, and still comes home early sometimes like he never did, but Tono doesn’t think it’s enough. Veronica doesn’t want to argue though and storms off.

Renee goes to see Wilma to inform her of her decision to stop pursuing the master’s degree. Wilma asks if she’s sure and Renee confirms that she is, 100%, and Wilma offers to cancel everything in her name and talk to her Maryland colleagues so the door stays open for the future. Renee thanks her and Wilma notes that she looks sad, despite everything. Renee explains that she is but she is happy to help Mauricio build his company from the ground up. Wilma nods, happy for Rene but not sure about her decision.
In her suite, Kika tells Jorge that she doubts her kids will get mad if they find out they are lovers but Jorge is worried about the example he is setting for his children. Kika is more interested in confirming what they are, friends with benefits or something more, and Jorge confirms he likes her and desires her but reminds her that she was Mauricio’s woman. Kika doesn’t think that matters, as she also slept with Fabian, and Jorge is shocked. He wonders if there is someone in Logatoys she didn’t sleep with but Kika shrugs. Jorge thought she was a different type of woman but Kika reminds him that she is a modern woman and what she does with her body is her decision. Jorge looks like he’s about to blow, because he can’t take her libertine ways, but Kika calms him down to confess that she feels more than just lust for him. She asks him to confess what he feels but he can barely get three words out so Kika opens the door and asks him to leave. He obliges.

Neron and Pablo open the shop as Pablo tells him that he is close to getting his visa so he can go to the US legally and find his father. Neron warns him to be careful, as people that look different aren’t treated good in the US, and Pablo nods and thinks it’s stupid because everyone is the same but groups like the KKK will still exist. Neron agrees and then looks at his watch. He tells Pablo he has a meeting with Mauricio soon but he’s actually worried about Flor because he doesn’t know what’s wrong. Pablo nods and then goes to change for work.

Veronica goes to the school to pick up the kids and the teacher informs her of the schedule of the sports training. She also comments that all the trainers will be fathers except for one mother, Yolanda. Veronica remembers exactly who Yolanda is and frowns.

Mauricio welcomes Jorge, Tono and Neron at his house to discuss his plan for the company. He tries to rally the troops but no one is as excited as he is; he thinks they will get excited later. He explains that he wanted to have champagne for the occasion but all they have is coffee because they have no money. Jorge nods as he wanted to discuss the fact that none of them can bring money to the project and Tono reveals he is recently separated and struggling. Neron admits that he is too, as all his money is invested in his business, and he is barely making it. Jorge nods and explains that he has kids coming out of the woodwork so he doesn’t have extra funds either. He thinks now is the wrong time to start the company and Mauricio asks Tono how he is. Tono tells them that he and Veronica are getting divorced and then excuses himself to cry in the kitchen.

At Logatoys, Ramon, a prestigious toy designer, shows Fabian his design but Fabian hates it and kicks him out immediately. Once alone with Fabian, Falcon tells him that he doesn’t like anything, doesn’t like the toy world, so the best thing to do is disband Logatoys, as Noel instructed. Fabian grabs him by the collar and tells him that he will not do that, and he should stop repeating it, before warning him that he can do everything alone so he can leave whenever he wants because hi tie is also disgusting.

Sometime later, Mauricio is sad that Tono and Veronica are divorcing, as they were the model couple but Jorge tells them that they would as soon as Veronica took the job and Neron agrees. Mauricio can’t believe they would prefer their women would not work, because they are worth less, but Jorge explains that women were created by God to bear and care for their children, at home. Neron agrees with Jorge but Tono demands they go to the therapy tomorrow because they are so wrong. Tono suggests they stop talking about his problems as either and Neron then asks to go to the bathroom so Tono goes to put sugar in his coffee. Jorge goes over to Mauricio then and whispers that he spoke to the Guatemalan consul and they informed him that Maria has been released. Mauricio is floored.

In her suite, Kika talk to Charytin and admits that things with her new mystery man aren’t going well. She can’t believe she’s an expert in business but can’t find a good man to save her life. Charytin agrees and Kika reveals that the problem now is her dignity and her ego, not her heart, but reminds her that no one will ever humiliate Kika Braun again. Charytin sips her mimosa and nods but is doubtful this is true.

Mauricio pulls Jorge aside to ask for more details and Jorge tells her that she was released early that morning but they have no more details. Mauricio wants to know if she’s coming to Mexico but they can’t talk more as Tono and Neron want to know why they are whispering and should they leave. Mauricio and Tono shake their heads and go to sit with them. Mauricio just needed to consult something with “Julieto” and that’s that. Mauricio then tells “Julieto” that he’s always thought his name was weird, like from a movie, and Tono offers Jorge his condolences because they’ve never gotten his name right (except for that one time).

Falcon reminds Fabian that they also need capital for the company but Fabian reminds him that it’s his job to get it though Falcon thinks he should limit his responsibilities, like picking up the mother of his daughter at the airport, if that’s the case. Fabian demands he be quiet because Anifer is not his daughter and then apologizes for his tone of voice before asking if he can do what he asked. Falcon nods and goes to leave as Fabian asks him if he loves ruining Mauricio’s life. Falcon shrugs and excuses himself as Fabian smiles to himself...

Alfredo: How far will Fabian go to escalate things to a deadly level ?

Just excellent as usual! Thank you, Alfredo.

Too bad that Renée having been bitten by the love bug wants to stay and nest with Mauricio and Anifer rather than going on to her graduate studies.

Too sad that Flor needs more tests. This does not look good.

Yay! Rafael has come to his senses and he and Renée are friends again.

Fantastic title Alfredo!

Hung on every word of your excellent rendition, particularly as I missed almost all of this.

Yikes, I'm the first to comment?

"Samuel doesn’t think he looks sick so Jorge coughs up a lung and explains that he will feel worse tomorrow" made me smile. I admit just when I am starting to soften a bit toward him, he opens his mouth and "Jorge explains that women were created by God to bear and care for their children, at home" is spewed. Running in place.

A few glorious moments with Jorge and Kika. I'm looking forward to seeing if this totally mismatched (but somehow fitting) couple really have a future. Jorge's kids are pretty sharp but you can't blame them for not figuring this out. Jorge as madcap and passionate? He may yet be brought down by a lipstick.

So Fabian is not Ani's father. I wondered if that were so, I mean we really only had his loathsome word for it, right?

Thankfully, I missed Vero's declaration she doesn't love Tono as she did before. It was obvious, but hearing it sort of solidified it. I'm not quite sure all is completely finished though, as Vero seemed greatly perturbed at hearing the name "Yolanda". Hmmm.

Renee can have school and a career. Women are muultitaskers and I am sure she will figure this out.

I don't knwo what Maria's story is. It would be nice if she survives and she and Mau can co-parent as so many do. TN "law" usually dictates Maria be removed from the picture. It would be nice to buck tradition and not have that happen.

Thank you Alfredo!

Diana

Our comments crossed Jarifa.

Yes, thank you for your comment on Flor. I meant to say that I am hoping nothing serious is wrong with her. I don't have a good feeling. Ack.

Diana

Yes, Diana, the lipstick may bring Jorge down yet. Valentina is far from stupid.

Since I cannot stand that weasel Toño, I hope Verónica divorces him but I fear that she still has it for him somehow after her reaction to “Yolanda”. His substituting the meds with mints instead of forcing the medication issue with Verónica just made him look like an immature kid taking refuge in subterfuge to avoid aggravating mommy. He might have found out how afraid she is of the diagnosis and for Ernesto.

Neron already has some baby names picked out, for boys and girls (all of them make Socretes and Cicero look normal),

What a great quip, Alfredo. And the title...so clever. Reminds me of that old Garth Brooks song.

Have to admit when I fired up the computer at 6:15 and there was no recap, I got to worrying about you. Usually you post it the night before. So glad that you're okay (you are, aren't you?) and that all is well in Alfredo World.

In Padre World though, not so much. Imminent Vero-Toño divorce? Deadly disease for Flor? Bio Mom hunting for Anifer? Lots of drama to come. Will look forward to watching this later, although clearly it won't be the madcap craziness that Monday's afternoon delight episode was.

Speaking of....jeez, the Mauricio-René romance is so PG I don't know how they'll ever have children of their own.

Thanks AAA.

Thank you for your recap, Alfredo. "...so Jorge coughs up a lung" is a hoot.

What Diana said about Jorge. His true colors are revealed by the idiot, himself. Women are to be kept barefoot, pregnant, and chained to the kitchen. No wonder Dulce ran away from home! Though I cannot forgive her for not contacting her children.

I did not like Vero at all, last night. Nope. Toño is no saint, either, but a Vero has changed much more than he has, since the start of this telenovela. She has become hard. Truly these two people are not communicating well, if at all. Things will get worse and hit some sort of ugly bottom before they both are ready and willing to listen, change their ways, negotiate and compromise. Question is, what will that bottom be?

Vero at the sound of Yolanda's name ..... where there's smoke, there's fire. She did that hair flip thing last week..... there is hope.

I'm so glad Rafa is not holding a resentment against Renee and they are still friends.

Fingers crossed that Flor's diagnosis is not horrible.

Maybe María the activist will take down Fabian, in the end.

First, a BIG thank You Mr. AAA because as usual I couldn't follow some of it. And I liked a few of your quips. Coughed up a lung? Nice.

The most entertaining part to me was that model of a hot air balloon which insisted on participating in the Julieto/Mauricio secret out in the open conversation. It was like one of those annoying little fruit gnats at a picnic which mistakes you for a slice of watermelon and will not leave you alone.

Jarifa, you have at least one on your NoToNo Team. I can't stand the grubby lying little runt myself. And I forgave him long ago for making babies with Vero, so that's not it. Good Luck Yoli. Good call Andy "still have Yolanda's number' As luck would have it she is 'coaching' Uh Huh. Wait, what is it you say RGV..."Oh Boy"

Oh Man when Serpent grabbed Falcon's tie I was thinking that was a perfect time for a vigorously raised knee, but I'm not sure about the location of the jewels on a serpent.

BTW, there is NO way Kika's lipstick could have been in the (probably only) bathroom for five people this whole time since the passport visit, without being noticed. I am really surprised Jorge has no compunction of telling lie after lie to his children when their similar actions would get them sent straight to Hell, according to him. Don't pass Go, Don't collect $200.

Val is far from stupid, is right Jarifa. She already knows, but has not allowed herself to admit that her Papa is a lying liar on top of having been discovered having secret kids in their teens. In spite of his stuttering, bumblimg, mumbling persona and proclamations of piety, Jorge isn't that great when you get down to it..

I mean I will tell a white lie if it in no way benefits me: that's the acid test
"Hon, does this dress make me look fat?"
"Baby you look gooood to me."
rather than:
"No, I think it is that mixing bowl of ice cream with the late news every night that is the culprit."

Yay! I have some company on the anti-Toño table!

Tono was actually cute when he was younger >>>----------------------------------------------->>>

"Tono was actually cute when he was younger >" ----- LOL!!! And so true, and his mother probably had a lot to do with the current finished product. Enabling can be tragic in so many ways.

While I was watching this episode, it struck me that Jorge is really spineless. He avoids confrontation of any type except when HE is trying to control. Coward. He needs to grow some .....

Understand your reactions but since this is a comedy, I don't think the writers want us to hate any of the characters other than Fabian, and maybe Falcon. The rest are shown to be deeply flawed human beings struggling to reconcile the values they grew up with, with the changing norms of today and changing roles of men and women.

They're making dreadful and hurtful mistakes, but ultimately are presented as people with good intentions screwing up. For now. But who will eventually right the ship by journey's end.

JudyB, I've noticed how devoid of real sizzle the Mau/Renee romance is.

There is more heat between HotRod and RifRaf than our main couple.

Hmmmmm............I wonder if Boyer is allowed on set?

Weasel! That is a good one! Kirby, if I remember correctly you said something like the final straw with unemployed Toño was his sabotaging unemployed Verónica trying to get a job when they had NO income coming in. He was dead to me from that episode on. There is NOTHING they could ever do to rehabilitate that character after that despicable act. Got that off my chest! LOL I have to remind myself that this is supposed to be a comedy where he is concerned.

doris, yes, Jorge is a spineless wonder taking refuge behind his faith. Easier to think his religion is making him do whatever than actually come to an independent decision and have to be responsible for the consequences. He has a loooong way to go.

"The most entertaining part to me was that model of a hot air balloon which insisted on participating in the Julieto/Mauricio secret out in the open conversation. It was like one of those annoying little fruit gnats at a picnic which mistakes you for a slice of watermelon and will not leave you alone."

Thanks for mentioning that Kirby. That touch was inspired...Wonderful to see your free spirited eagle this morning.

Diana

Jarifa, yes, too many people hide behind their religion (when it suits their own purposes) while their actions are going against all. It's no wonder the "nones" are so prevelant in today's society.
This telenovela is relevant on so many levels!

"...that model of a hot air balloon ...". --- I know! I kept wondering why they did not move away from it.

Judy, great call. There is not a whiff of anything warm, or smouldering between Mau and Renee. I firmly do believe that is intentional.

More heat on G rated tv shows.

Diana

Maybe they are saving the Mauricio/Renée fireworks for a future episode. . .

I felt no sympathy for Vero this episode. I didn't like that she refuses to admit that she's part of the problem too. It's not just that her personality has changed, but she plain refuses to listen to his opinion and refuses to compromise. She closes down conversations when she doesn't like the way they're headed. She believes that as the breadwinner she's fully in charge of everything in that household, yet she doesn't do anything for her kids except monetarily maintain them. Even now that Tono is out of the house, the suegra is the one who does everything for them. As much as la suegra claims she raised Tono to be a slob, she's coddling Vero too. I wonder if she'll ever point out to Vero that she isn't attentive enough to her kids. Also, now that Tono's mostly out of the house, Vero suddenly appears to have time to pop in and out. But that's literally all she does. I guess we'll see soon if she does have the commitment to be a mother and working parent at the same time.

I don't think it's just religion and gossip holding Jorge in a continuum of lies. Jorge also doesn't want to tell his kids about Kika because they're not formally together. In his mind, he's setting a terrible example for them- I think that if Jorge and Kika were to be official, he wouldn't hesitate so much (he's worried about Mauricio's reaction too though). However, Jorge doesn't seem to be emotionally invested in that relationship, yet Kika is clearly falling for him. I hope they have the opportunity to progress.

Maia

As this is supposed to be a Romantic Comedy it does pretty well on occasion
but is consumed with PSAs and teaching the main characters lessons too.
So let's see what lessons our main people are being shown:

Renee........Sometimes it is time to jettison those dreams of questionable value which you have been dragging along with you forever and live your life.

Mauricio.....If you can't trust your lifelong friend, who can you trust? OR you can't fool Kids and Dogs.

Jorge.......Is the church really your friend? It seems similar to modern computers...a million useless rules and no mercy if they are not followed.

Tono.....Looks, personality and deception will only get you so far. Eventually you have to do something productive before everyone, even your Mother, figures you out.

Neutron.........Drive what you can afford. Remember even if it is free, you still have to insure it.

Raf and Rod.....Being part of a popular minority does not always guarantee special treatment.

Veronica........I don't know. Maybe don't dye your hair. OR nothing is guaranteed forever.

Flor........Before you coat yourself with Honey, be sure you like Bees.

The podium is open

Good morning to all you lovely people.

Alfredo, thank you ,thank you. You are the Enerizer Bunny.

Judy, every word a pearl of truth.

Doris , I agree with everything you wrote. Can I just sign my name after yours at the end of your comments?

Jorny Jorge is the perfect example of a holier than thou person who says one thing and does another. I hope that one of those stones he has been casting ricbochets back to him.

I think that both Vero and Tonto are both boneheads who are hurting each other and their kids. Basta. Get some counseling ..together.

Kirby..wise men know that "Baby, you look goood to me " is an appropriate answer to any question that their honeys ask.

Did anyone else notice how nice and crisp Tono's pink shirt was pressed last night? I haven't seen him ironing.

Now, if on!y Tonto himself were nice and crisp.

Good one, Susanlynn!

Good Morning, Rockin' Patio! And thank you, Mr. AAA, excellent recap and fun quips are truly appreciated. You all are waaay ahead of me on the comments.

A moment of comedy relief and then back to the drama; oh well, it was a a nice break.

Diana, I was also starting to soften toward Georgy Boy but he had to go and revert to his dinosaur self...I suppose it's as the Roman Emperor Hadrian said, "Brick by brick, my fellow citizens" ...only one of those bricks should be smashed on the side of Georgy Boy's head! Oooh, Maia, I just read your comment...a BIG stone would work too!

Jarifa, "Too sad that Flor needs more tests. This does not look good." No, it doesn't! :-( I wish they had specified which levels were off...we could have at least gotten a clue. And Neron thinking up those pathetic names and cheering on Jorge when he was giving his spiel on women...I wish Flor could hear what he says when she isn;t near by. She is probably going to need someone if she is seriously ill, but I don't want her getting stuck with his old-timer thinking.

JudyB, "the Mauricio-René romance is so PG I don't know how they'll ever have children of their own." ITA, but they are getting it on. I'm wondering if Renee was assuming it was more physical when they first started...since she just now admitted to luurving Mauricio.

Doris, I am in total agreement with you regarding Vero....dramatic change fromthe start of the TH...almost as bad as Sofia on "Ramon" but not as lethal.

Kirby, "BTW, there is NO way Kika's lipstick could have been in the (probably only) bathroom for five people this whole time since the passport visit, without being noticed." Jorge has no idea how smart Val is. And another BTW, there is no way that pink lipstick caused the RED smears on Jorge's face...but that's beside the point :-)

Great question - spot on answer.

Susanlynn, I wish Tono and Vero had followed your advice about counseling, at say epi one??

With Vero's personality swtich (thanks writers) and Tono's just general unlikeableness (agree with you Jarifa and Kirby), there's nothing or no one to root for here.

Diana

Guess Kirby's eagles are not the only ones with laser sharp vision. "And another BTW, there is no way that pink lipstick caused the RED smears on Jorge's face...but that's beside the point :-)". RgvChick, you have an amazing eye!

Diana

Oops forgot to change my avatar...enough of looking at the massive biceps. Susy, my real boys are next Heeeere's Chocolate ->->->->->->->->->->->

Chickie..another cute puppy.

OK Chikie, your cute puppies have upstaged my feathered friends. I am forced to put up a picture of MY dog.

G'day, everybody! Mr AAA thank you once again for a marvelous recap, I now know what it was that I watched last night :-)

Great comments today, as usual. I, too, hope that Flor is OK. But I wish they would dump that doctor, all he ever does is look a bit concerned and say that we need more tests. Is he thinking Flor's a goner, or that she needs to take vitamin D?

What's up with Kika's lipstick? Didn't she leave it in the bathroom while Jorny Jorge (oh, I like that one!) kept the kids in the kitchen so she could make her escape? After all, she told her fans that it is a brand new shade, which Val picked up on.

I'm hoping we get to see some more Yolanda, enough with the biceps already. Any more and I was afraid Rgv Chickie would start cruising the RGV looking for Rulli ("Wanna go back to my place and see my goats?" wink, wink).

andy

Jarifa: Flor is sick ? Uh-oh. This doesn't look good at all.

Diana: Does Mauricio have any back-up of allies to help him battle against Fabian & the massive cronies ?

Shields up!

:-)

andy

Chocolate is just adorable RgvChick. What lovely fur kids you have.

Kirby, yours? Not so much. But good for a hearty laugh...

Andy, yes that doctor is a bit of an alarmist, isn't he? I hope Flor's real diagnosis doesn't cause another dour expression. I think Neron is an alarmist himself so he fed into it. I think Flor's a bit wiser. I'm still worried something is really wrong.

Steve, well, Mau does have Tono and Neron - but I don't believe they are providing much backup. Thankfully, he does have Jorge who is surprisingly sharp and does appear to keeping an eye out for Mau's interests.

Diana

Are they going to kill off Flor so that they can have Neutron as a widow Dad with a baby?

And Mau has Anifer and Renee.
And probably soon Maria.

But shoot, they are all women, what can they do? Right Jorge?

Kirby...i hope not. Have Neuron's medical concerns been revealed ,or is he hyperchoncriac?

I THINK he was diagnosed with enlarged prostate, but am not sure.

When Maria returns I hopeo she and Renee do not become enemies over Mauricio, as Fab-O-Snake is actually Anifer's bio Dad.

BTW, did Mr. Secrets ever tell Renee the truth about that?

Susanlynn, Nerón has an enlarged prostrate which was revealed after he ended up in the hospital with his heart trouble. He does seems to have hypochondriacal (?) tendencies which he just cannot seem to shake.

Kirby, I thought we were just going on Fab's word he is Ani's daddy so is there a chance he isn't??

Diana

Hey I was thinking about Maria coming back. Since Fabian was impersonating Mauricio and Maria thought the Father's name was Mauricio Lopez Gomez, would Anifer's birth certificate not show Mau as her Father?

So unless there has been a crime or the State has a good reason, why would the birth Mother and Father of record not be accepted as such...case closed.

I can't just go trotting to the Department of Children and Families and declare that my neighbor's kid is actually mine, and have all these DNA tests run.

If all the above is almost true, then screw Fabian, if he opens his mouth just say he is lying and delusional. Except there has already been all these DNA tests etc.

Mauricio needs to start fighting dirty. You don't fight fair when it really matters, you fight to win, when it comes to Anifer.

Mau is too nice. He needs to start trying to create division in the ranks. Turn Fab and Falcon against each other. Forge or fabricate some emails showing that one is planning on doublecrossing the other. Watch some TNs, you'll get some good ideas. Find out who (Noel) is the fellow Renee met living with Fabian. Go on the offensive. You can't think, "Well, if I just don't answer the door they will go away and leave me alone."

They won't. They will set your house on fire.

Diana I think I remember a second round of DNA tests which showed positively that Fab is the Dad.

I guess we need Fab injured, so that he has to go to the hospital . Then, we can find out his blood type. No matter who the parents are, i do not think that they will survive because we all know that Maury and Renee are meant to be Ani's parents.

Just like they probably did the factory.

Diana I remember our having a discussion where I asked about the DNA showing Anifer NOT Mauricio's, and a test showing that she is definitely Fabians. Because I wondered if the DNA showed a possibility of parenthood or was positive proof of parentage.

I believe it was either Jarifa or RGV who looked it up and answered my question.

So just kill him, destroy all the evidence, and marry Renee and let her adopt Anifer.

Does he need be living to type his blood?

Of course not, They figure out what a corpse had for lunch with a blood spatter three years old on the Forensic Files.

Thanks, Alfredo.

Loved Kika not letting Jorge shame her about her previous bedmates, Mau, Fabian...

I came here for the comedy and wasn't expecting much in the way of romance (even though Mau is an Adonis and Renee is cute as a button), but who knew Kika and Jorge would be the ones bringing the sparks?

Yes, Rulli is a perfect Adonis. A favorite story in my family is when my Uncle Harry was in high school and came home one day and asked what it meant to be named "Adnoids of the class." He was goodlooking , but not much of a scholar.

Great conversations, Patio Peeps!

In regards to the DNA testing, only Mauricio has had DNA tests to prove that he is/isn't Anifer's father. We only have Fabricator's word that he is the father...which is worth poop. In one of the flashbacks, Maria told Fabricator that he was the father (but it was one of Fab's flashbacks so he could have made up a fake memory) AND that she wanted nothing from him other than to let him know about the baby; so she may have not put a father's name on the birth certificate.

Susy, ""Adnoids of the class." that's hilarious!

OMGosh, Kirby, I just looked at your dog. It looks mighty hungry...can we drop him of at the Fabricator's fortress??? :-)

I'm sure you know that "of" (↑) should be "OFF" but my obsessive-compulsive mind has to make the correction...

Susanlynn, too funny!

Rgv Chick, I hope Fabian isn't the real dad, but the way he bristled when Falcon said he was picking up "your daughter's mother" I'm thinking he is.

RgvChick, your pup is so cute! Kirby, yours...not so much. 😉

Highly unlikely Flor will be killed off. It's just not that type telenovela. I'm firmly seated at the Flor table on the patio.

It would be fun to see JornyJorge ultimately cave in to Kika and have her wearing the pants around his house, making Jorge, Baldo, and Sammy waiting on the Val, Lili, and Kika. Just sayin '. Turnabout is fair play.

Doris: Yeah make him wear a Tutu or a Car Hop outfit and wait tables for her and the kids.

Kika has at her disposal the most powerful weapon on earth against a quivering stuttering mound of testosterone Jello.

OK Thanks RGV about the DNA testing etc. We can't believe a word Fakian says. Um...not to be that way, but maybe Maria doesn't know either.

OK I'm not putting any more pics of Daisy up.

Even a nice dog has a bad hair day.

"Mound of testosterone"jello" .....jelosterone?

I much prefer an honest horndog to someone like Jorny who acts all saintly while breaking commandments that he expects everyone else to adhere to. What a hipocrite. I hope that Jorny's bunnyhopping with Kikidee is revealed to everyone in the cul de sac, especially his children. Weasel. Man up.

Susanlynn, all JornDog would have to do is tell his kids:

"I loved your Mom, but I can't hold her prisoner here, and she left against my wishes. I am, for all practical purposes, single, and Kika and I are going out. I don't know exactly where it is going, but I am happy to see that she gets along well with you, my children, and I expect you to be nice to her."

There would be zero problems with that, and everybody would be happy.

Weasel again?
