Papa A Toda Madre #69: Honest Questions for Not-So-Honest People
Renee tells Manifer that it is not her fault that she and Mauricio broke up. Anifer still asks for her and Maria’s forgiveness and they forgive her, but Renee continues to explain that her and Mauricio had problems beforehand and nothing she did caused them to break up. Maria is sad to see her daughter so distraught and Renee understands as she feels the same way. Anifer is sad to see Renee is so sad and, with tears in her eyes, begs Maria to let her stay with Mauricio, even if he has another girlfriend. Maria promises to never take her away from her father and Renee reiterates that nothing she did is her fault before giving her a kiss on the cheek. Renee then tells Maria that they have plenty to talk about and Maria nods.
All of Jorge’s children, minus Lili, go to see Flor and offer their help, no matter when or what. Neron teases Baldo for being so willing but Flor chides him for a second before thanking the kids for their offer. Neron asks the kids to take care of Flor, since he must go back to work, and the kids agree but Neron warns Baldo to keep his distance. He then smiles at Flor and waves goodbye before leaving.
At home, Anifer sits with Mauricio and confesses that she lied about her mother taking her away if he didn’t get back together with her. She explains that she made it up because she wanted to be close to him, forever, but also wanted to be close to her mother and Renee. Mauricio nods and gives her a kiss on the forehead before reminding her that her lies hurt Renee, no matter the reason why she did it. Anifer understands and already apologized to Renee for her actions. Mauricio nods again and then tells her that he promised to love her forever and nothing will keep them apart. Anifer nods as Mauricio reminds her that, no matter who he’s with, the love of his life will always be her. Anifer smiles and jumps into his arms for a hug. They then tease each other about who loves who more and laugh.
Outside, Maria and Renee talk about their feelings. Maria admits that she fell for Mauricio, even though he is nothing like the man she would usually fall for, and Renee understands. She tells Maria that she felt the same way but ended up falling in love. Either way, Maria thought he and Renee were over and feels terrible about confessing her feelings to him. She does promise that she would do nothing to separate Anifer from Mauricio, despite what she said before, and explains that she loves how much Mauricio loves Anifer. Maria hopes Renee understands her and Renee nods but admits that the whole situation is a little uncomfortable and it’s best that she and Mauricio broke up. Renee admits that because of this her priorities have now shifted and walks away with a shrug as Maria looks on.
Veronica is at home when Renee knocks on the door and comes in. Veronica wants to know what happened and Renee begins to cry because she has nowhere to go since Rafael, Rodrigo and Tono live in her house. Veronica asks what happened with Mauricio and Renee hugs her, tight, as Tono comes down the stairs with Ernesto and asks what happened. Veronica tells him that she and Renee are going to talk outside and he nods.
That night, Flor asks the kids about Lili and Valentina admits that Lili is craving everything in sight though she seems sad. Flor doesn’t think it’s all that surprising, considering she wants to give up the child. All the kids are shocked and demand to know what she means. Flor kicks herself for being a big mouth.
At a restaurant, over dinner, Renee and Veronica toast to new beginnings and Renee hopes to stay positive for the future. Renee suggests they keep drinking for the time being, but Veronica shakes her head and tells her she must go home. Renee sighs deeply and tells Veronica that they must solve their problems. She then declares that she will resolve the issue with her house today.
At home, all the kids gang up on Lili for her decision to give the baby up for adoption. Lili demands to know who told them, but the kids want to know what she could be thinking. Lili demands none of them get involved in her life, since they are no one to decide, as Jorge walks in and greets them. He feels the tension and asks what happened and they tell him nothing, but Lili perks up and confesses they were talking about her child.
A few seconds later, Jorge storms into Rodrigo’s and Rafael’s house and demands they forget about ever adopting his grandchild. Rodrigo regrets he found out by third parties, especially since he and Rafael were going to talk to him later, but Jorge is adamant that no homosexuals will care for his grandchild. The men nod as Jorge continues fuming.
Fabian arrives home and tries to close his gate when Renee appears and blocks his way. She warns him that she is not leaving until she resolves the issue with her house. Fabian demands she leave and call him tomorrow, but Renee wants to resolve the issue now. She wants to know what he wants with her house because he has everything, but Fabian asks her to be quiet and tries to push her out the door as Noel arrives and demands to know what is happening. Renee tells Fabian that she already saw Noel once, so he doesn’t have to hide him, and Noel is shocked to find Renee there again. She knows he’s Noel because she saw his photo from years ago and knows he’s her father. Noel and Fabian are silent as Renee comes face to face with the truth. Fabian explains that this is not Noel but his twin brother and chides Renee for trying to find a father everywhere because she never had one, especially a rich one. He then explains that his uncle is sick and suffers dementia, but Renee doesn’t care about that, she just wants to live in her house, in peace. Fabian thought she lived with Mauricio though, but Renee explains they broke up and nothing he does to her will hurt him now. She demands she leave him in peace either way and stop competing against Mauricio, much to Noel’s dismay as he though Fabian closed Logatoys. Renee shakes her head but reminds Fabian he doesn’t have Mauricio’s smarts and perseverance to make Logatoys a success.
Mauricio sits down at home with Maria to talk about what happened. Maria can’t look Mauricio in the eye because of what happened and feels weird about living with him. Mauricio thinks she is not to blame for what happened, especially because he and Renee were bound to break up because of her studies, but Maria prefers to go. Mauricio begs her to stay because he needs to be close to Anifer but Maria wonders what will happen in the future. Mauricio asks her to consider Anifer and to please stay because they are a family.
Jorge tells Rodrigo and Rafael that his grandchild deserves a family that will raise it, his family, not theirs. As he continues to berate the men, Lili and Pablo arrive and demand to know what he’s doing there as they had already decided to them the couple adopt the baby. Jorge demands Pablo shut up and promises to talk to Lili, long and hard. He curses Pablo for coming into their lives and suggests he find a job because he’s a poor lout with nothing to offer. He then chides the men for putting silly ideas in Lili’s head, but Lili reminds him that the baby is hers and Pablo’s and they decide to give him to a loving family. Pablo reminds him that Lili will also be 18 by the time the baby is born, and Lili makes it clear that the only one who doesn’t get to decide anything is Jorge. Jorge is silently shocked.
In her suite, Kika video chats with Valentina about the latest baby development. Kika understands Lili’s decision but also Jorge’s reaction though she admits that Jorge has the tact of a bull in a china shop and hates that he dislikes people for being who they are. Valentina nods and asks her to do something to help Jorge calm down. Kika promises to think of something.
Fabian tries to kick Renee out of his house again, telling her that she’s not welcomed in his family, but she frees herself and tells him he can keep it. Either way, she knows the man in front of her can’t be Noel Carvajal because Noel was kind and thoughtful and warm and she is sure Fabian would be a better person if Noel would’ve taken care of him. Fabian could care less what she says and suggests she tell her tenants to leave her house, asap, or risk being kicked out. Renee reminds him that she will fight for her house tooth and nail and leaves. Fabian closes the gate and Noel wonders why he’s fighting Renee for her house when it’s both of theirs. Fabian can’t believe he said the truth out loud.
Jorge reiterates that homosexuals won’t care for his grandchild because god knows what they will teach it, but Rafael can’t believe he would say that since all homosexuals grew up in heterosexual families so one doesn’t have anything to do with the other. Rodrigo tells Jorge that the child will be loved and taught respect, that’s it. Pablo thinks their marriage is stronger than most and they will love their child with all their heart. Jorge can’t believe he could be so stupid and reminds everyone that he knows the law and will do whatever he can, so they can’t adopt Lili’s baby because he will care for it. Lili reveals that she doesn’t want him near her child because he would only teach them to be a lying, conservative, hypocrite and she doesn’t want that. After moment, she leaves with Pablo and Rodrigo asks Jorge to reconsider his decision. Jorge grabs him by the collar and demands he shut up because he has nothing to say about his daughter. Rodrigo asks if he’s done and then opens the door, so Jorge can leave. Jorge does after a moment and Rodrigo smiles at Rafael, who gives him a kiss on the cheek and they hug, hoping things could get easier.
At Neron’s, Pablo asks Flor if Lili can stay for the night and Flor nods. Pablo tells her that he will sleep at the shop and Lili thanks Flor for her help. Flor nods and smiles.
Outside, Neron suggests Jorge calm down and talk to his daughter tomorrow. He also tells him to not be angry with the children because they’re young and are in a tough situation. Jorge wonders what he did to deserve all that’s happening to him.
Maria puts Anifer to sleep and Mauricio wonders how many stories it took. Maria tells him none because she felt too guilty to listen to one. Mauricio wonders if he should talk to her again but Maria shakes her head and asks if he is doing anything right now. Mauricio explains that he is going to look over the account Jorge set up and see if there’s enough money to start the company. Maria nods and then decides to go to sleep but turns around and asks Mauricio, point blank, if he likes her. Mauricio is taken aback but answers that anyone would love an intelligent and resourceful woman like her, but things are tough right now. Maria takes that as a sign to say good night and walks away.
Neron arrives home and tells Lili that he managed to convince Jorge to let her stay the night and Pablo at the shop. They thank him, and Milady starts crying. Flor suggests Pablo rock her, as he’s good with kids, but Neron goes running because he’s happy to do it.
Noel and Fabian go to his shop and Noel demands Fabian leave Renee alone. He also demands to know why he hasn’t disbanded the company and Fabian begs Noel to trust him. Noel can’t believe he’s so selfish and disobeyed him, but Fabian wants a chance to return Logatoys to its formal glory. Noel doesn’t care; he reminds Fabian that Logatoys is not and will never be his and, if he doesn’t destroy it, Noel can surely burn it to the grown himself. He demands Fabian decide what he prefers.
Tono sets up a place for himself on the couch and Renee apologizes to him for putting him out. Veronica states that she offered Renee a room at their house, but she prefers to stay in her house. Renee nods and explains that, should anyone come by looking for her, she will be there. Tono then handles her his set of keys and Renee bids them goodbye. Veronica asks Tono if he has enough blankets and he nods, reminding her that she’s the one who gets cold easily. He suggests she find him if she gets cold though and Veronica’s eyes roll out of their sockets before she walks away.
Rafael reminds Rodrigo, once again, how bad the adoption idea is, but Rodrigo reminds him that they will love that child and they should fight for their right to adopt it. He asks Rafael if he is willing to fight with him and Rafael nods, so they shake hands and toast. Just then, Renee arrives, and she asks them who’s day was worse. All of them agree that things couldn’t get worse and they sit down to talk.
Jorge goes to relax at Kika’s suite. Jorge can’t believe Lili would rather give her child away to strangers than have him take care of it. Kika silently listens but her face shows that she doesn’t agree with his thoughts at all. After he vents, she reminds him that she supports diversity and doesn’t want to talk about this until they have their “fun.” Jorge reiterates that nothing about this situation is normal but Kika cautions him to fix things with Lili or she will never forgive him. Jorge considers this.
The next day, Mauricio gets Anifer ready for school and Maria offers to go with them to drop Anifer off at the school. Mauricio explains that he must go to the bank, but Maria doesn’t mind. Mauricio insists it will take a while and Maria offers to go with him to the school and then they can go their separate ways. Mauricio nods but calls Maria “Renee” and then apologizes. Maria nods as Renee opens the door with her keys. Anifer gives her a big hug and Renee apologizes for barging in as she thought they had left. Maria doesn’t mind but grabs Anifer’s hand to take her to school, so she and Mauricio can talk. Once alone, Renee and Mauricio look at each other, their feelings still filling the air around them.
At Logatoys, Fabian tells Falcon that he hasn’t found Noel’s designs anywhere at home, but they may be at Renee’s house. He runs out and hopes nothing stops him on his journey. Falcon couldn’t be anymore confused.
Pablo and Lili care for Milady and they comment on how calm and beautiful she is. Lili then thanks Pablo for always being there and Pablo tells her it’s nothing, he does it because she loves him. Lili nods but reminds him that he is leaving soon. Pablo prefers to leave after the baby is born because they need each other. Lili considers this.
Mauricio asks Renee where she will live, as he worries about her, and Renee explains that she’s loving for a place, short term, as she’s going to Maryland soon. She then asks if she can go get her things and Mauricio nods but wonders if they are going to end things in a fight. Renee thinks things ended very strangely and Mauricio agrees. He admits that a bunch of misunderstandings separated them, one of them Anifer’s lies and Maria’s confession, but Renee thinks maybe they can be friends, like Anifer said. Mauricio nods but wonders if that’s all she wants with him. Renee nods and Mauricio does too before agreeing that they are “only friends.” He then bids her goodbye and leaves.
In her suite, Jorge sleeps on Kika as she calls someone. She hangs up and wakes up Jorge then as he wonders what he will tell his kids or what they will think of him. Kika asks him not to worry as his kids think he arrived late last night and left early this morning; she confirmed everything with Valentina right now. Jorge chides her for not waking him up but Kika holds him back and tells him that everything is fine at home, so he should slow down. She then asks him if he has anything going on, besides Transportcity, and Jorge confesses he has a business deal going with those from the cul-de-sac. Kika smiles and asks for more information, because she would like to invest in his cooperative company, but Jorge wonders how she knows it’s a cooperative company. Kika tries to save herself but Jorge wonders how she knows what he’s doing. Kika is silent.
As Renee packs, she looks at a picture of herself, Mauricio and Anifer at the pool. She sighs and puts it down before picking up her blueprint for the toy she made for Maryland. She remembers Noel’s picture and goes to find it in the bedroom. She does and realizes it is the same man, not a twin, before walking back to the kitchen where she finds Fabian, hovering over her blueprints. She demands to know what he’s doing there but he wants to know where she got the design idea for the robot because it’s almost identical to the one from Logatoys though this one has her name on it. Renee is quiet.
Kika explains that because it’s with friends a cooperative company sounds better than a regular company. Jorge nods and apologizes for being so paranoid. She then gives him a kiss and they fall into bed, making out, but Jorge stops himself and stands up. Kika asks him to think her offer to invest over but he must go as he just got a client on Transportcity. He promises to think her offer over and they kiss each other goodbye. Once alone, Kika texts someone and smiles to herself.
Mauricio goes to the bank and applies for a loan but finds that he is blacklisted at the bank for not paying his debts. Mauricio is surprised and wonders what he can do now.
Fabian explains that he needs to look for some things that belong to Logatoys and may be in Bosco’s house from when it was used for storage. Fabian then finds the original robot blueprint and accuses Renee of stealing Noel’s ideas. Renee thought the design was Bosco’s and Fabian reminds her that she knows nothing. Renee explains that she modified the original design and made it her own, not an exact copy, but Fabian reveals that he owns all the copyrights and the design is Noel’s. Renee nods before holding up the picture of Noel. She knew she wasn’t wrong and knows Noel is available. Fabian stops short for a moment but then reminds her that Noel is dead, and he has his death certificate. He warns her not to replicate the robot design or he will sue her. Renee wonders why he wants to destroy her so much, but Fabian warns her to stay out of his way or he will put her in jail too. Maria arrives and wonders who else he put in jail but Fabian smiles to himself, grabs some designs, and then leaves both women to wonder what he meant (though we knew what he meant).
Jorge picks up his client and offers her a bottle of water. The client chides him for interrupting her phone call and then states that her friend needs a corporate lawyer, asap, and will be on the lookout for them. She then asks Jorge what he was asking about, and he apologizes for eavesdropping but heard her friend was looking for a corporate lawyer and reveals he is one. The client smiles to herself.
Later, Maria calls Mauricio to ask how things went at the bank. He reveals they went terrible because he never checked his finances at the bank once Logatoys was doing better so now his credit is shot and he can’t get a loan. He also chides Fabian for not reminding him and Maria reveals that she saw him today and he threatened to send Renee to jail. Mauricio curses him, and Maria tells him that Fabian said he had already sent someone to jail; Mauricio wonders if he had anything to do with her detention, especially since she conveniently returned when Fabian wanted it. Maria agrees, especially since the charges were dropped and his assistant appeared out of nowhere to help her find Mauricio. Mauricio thinks that was exactly the case.
Veronica tells her boss that she doesn’t want to ask for favors so soon after starting but she read in her contract that can get discounts on medicine for employees and family members of employees who work at the company. Her boss nods but explains that it is for employees who have been working with the company for 6 months or more. The boss thinks they can make an accept though and asks if she or a family member is sick. Veronica tells him the medicine would be for a dear friend and her boss tells her that it would be impossible if that’s the case. Veronica thanks him and her boss leaves as Tono arrives and they complement each other on their choice of ties. Once alone with Tono, Veronica reveals that she asked for a discount for Flor’s medicine, but he said no. Tono nods slowly.
Lili asks Pablo why he decided to come back when they were at the border, and told her all those awful things, and Pablo reveals that he did it because he didn’t to leave her behind or have her family worry about her if they crossed together. Either way, he promises to stay till the baby is born and then return as soon as he finds his father. Lili smiles and Pablo asks her a very hard question: if they still want to be together, why are they giving up the baby for adoption? Lili can’t believe he’s asking her this and asks if he wants to keep the baby. Pablo is silent.
At Logatoys, Gladys is having a snack when Mauricio comes and demands to see Fabian. Gladys wonders why he’s so rude and he asks her how she’s doing. She launches into a billion complaints about the current state of her job, which Mauricio finds “fascinating,” but asks again if Fabian is there. Gladys tells him that Fabian is out, but Mauricio insists he wait for him in his office. He walks inside as Falcon sees him and follows. Mauricio looks around the office and then sees Falcon behind him and figures he can answer his question. He demands to know if Fabian is responsible for putting Maria in jail. Falcon can only smugly smile… (I hope Mauricio doesn’t expect a real answer).

I was surprised that the Univision censors allowed “maricones” a rather crude word for homosexuals to remain. It is usually bleeped. Maybe they are changing for the better or were merely asleep. One can only hope.
It was good seeing Lili coming into her own and sticking up for herself and her baby In the face of everyone and that she and Pablo are back together.
So now, Noél knows that Fabián has not followed his instructions to dismantle Logatoys. Will he really burn it down himself as he is threatening to do?
So, now from having no contact at all, Renée and Mauricio have moved to being just “friends”. Okay . . .
At least Noel told Fabian to leave Renee alone. Maybe if the need comes, he'll do something right and protect her.
I just can't sympathize with Lili, but overall she's starting to go in the right direction. I have hope that her and Pablo decide not to give away the baby. I never believed that Jorge would want the baby put into adoption, gay couple or not. And at the end of the day if Lili is leaving the home, why not just leave the baby to him? I'm not sure if deep down she's really doing all of this to be spiteful to him.
I thought that the answer to Vero's question regarding the company paying for a neighbor's medicine was an obvious no and she shouldn't have bothered to ask.
Maia
I think we all agree that Mau is really naive to think Falcon is going to admit everything...”oh sure, Mau, let’s sit down and discuss over coffee; here’s a pound of sugar.”
I was irked at the way the “parents” handled Ani’s confession. Yes, she felt really bad and they wanted to make her feel better, but NO ONE emphasized that what she did was WRONG!
Jorge was his old jerking self. Rafa should have just put a muzzle on him. And HotRod should have arrested him for assaulting an officer. But at least it resulted in Pablo and Lili talking things out. It looks like LIli and Pablo are rethinking their decision; a little communication does help.
More laters...
Alfredo, that was a great title and a very sensitively written recap. I especially liked this:
"Once alone, Renee and Mauricio look at each other, their feelings still filling the air around them."
I think you have a very tender heart, AAA. Sounds like the crises are continuing in this one but we can only hope that Renee's words will have an effect on Noel and he will return, eventually, to the kind, gentle man he once was.
Kika clearly has a heart of gold lodged in that bodacious body. She is going to patiently nurture conservative, pig-headed Jorge into a more compassionate, less judgmental man. The Righteous Frog is slowly but surely evolving into a Prince. Or at least we can hope!
Thanks Alfredo. We miss hearing from you on the blog line. Hope life is good for you and busy only in a pleasant way, not stressful.
"They then tease each other about who loves who more and laugh" A bright father/daughter moment in a purely painful episode.
Have Uni's shears been at work? There were many what appeared to be several disjointed scenes. We never got to see Lili telling Jorge about the adoption. That seems very strange.
Yes Jarifa, the move to the "friend zone" happened at warp speed. I don't buy it for a second but am concerned about the lack of passion and the dedication most lead TN couples have, vowing never to separate.
RgvChick, yes, I laughed at your comments regarding Falcon. I don't think there will be any bonding between he and Mau. I do wonder what is in it for him though. I can't see Fabian being generous with anyone.
"Reenee understands her and Renee nods but admits that the whole situation is a little uncomfortable and it’s best that she and Mauricio broke up". Seemingly so.
"Mauricio asks her to consider Anifer and to please stay because they are a family". Hmmm, well sort of.
"Flor suggests Pablo rock her, as he’s good with kids". Nice Flor. Nice.
There is no excuse of course for any of Jorge's actions and cruel, homophobic words toward Rafa and Rod. That aside, I don't think Jorge wants anyone outside of the family to raise his granddaughter. I can't say Pablo has changed his mind because I think he ceded the decision to Lili but I suspect he wants to keep the baby.
"Jorge is silently shocked". Yes, Kika dispensed sound advice - fix things with your daughter or you will lose her. "She is going to patiently nurture conservative, pig-headed Jorge into a more compassionate, less judgmental man". Excellent Judy.
A rather sad episode saved by your wonderful wit Alfredo. Loved the title too.
Diana
I know it is a small thing, and I am in the minority, but here we have the most Luuuuurving couple Raf&Rod, and then in the bedroom scene, we see a LOT more of Jorge's horse's ass hide than we do of Kika's velvety smoooove leggggs and arms and BACKSIDE. :-( What up?
So Jeorgy Boy completes his undercover work with his socks on? Jerking Jorge, RGV? Well, that ......................nevermind......................next
I agree with EVERY --- ONE, Anifer needs a piece of Duck tape over her mouth for a while. They even make it in colors and patterns these days, so she wouldn't be going around with the boring old silver stuff looking like a juvenile air conditioning repair gone awry. A quiet one...................
So with everything he has done and is doing, when Fartian waltzes in and back out with some plans, Renee stands there with her thumb in her ear? Except for Anifer and Maria, these people are all on Prozac or something. Don't any of these people have GUNS? I want an Anti-PSA showing how handy a 9mm can be in certain situations. Actually that and a shotgun too. Well, and maybe a 308 high powered rifle just to be safe. Wait, anyway..
Now I am hopeoing that Renee can generate enough discord between Fartian and PopFart to get them at war long enough for our good guys to close ranks and mount a defense.
Kirby: Maria has ulterior motives here. I do NOT trust this Baby Mommy!
Renee and Maury are in love, but they are breaking up because of Ani. Not smart because kids grow up and go off into the world to lead their own lives. Maybe sister wives , Maury??? Kidding.
That was quite a hissyfit Jorny had. Lilly and Pablo have no way to support a baby, so is he prepared to be responsible for another child under his roof in addition to the four he already has?...and..I hopeo that he and Kiki are using reliable birth control....just sayin'.
Uncle----Nephew OK
Brain---Kirby-->didn't happen
Steve, what ulterior motives?
A. SHE wants to take over LogaToys herself
B. She wants to adopt Lili's baby
C. She wants to get her Master(bator) degree in MerryLand
D. She wants to design a GI Jane doll . for the CIA
E. She knows where Tono buried the dog and .............fill in the blank
F. She wants to go back to Guatemala to beat up that fashion thief
G. She wants to open a resale shop and sell her clothes
H. She has a crush on Renee and doesn't know how to tell her
I. She just found out she and Veronica are cousins
J. Something to do with Kiki?
K. She saw a secret cancer cure at GNC and wants to tell Flor
Or do you think she might be interested in her daughter's self proclaimed Daddy? Nah...
BTW does it strike anyone else that the writers only know of three countries outside Mexico?
1 Guatamala
2.Maryland
3.Los Angeles

Hard to root for Mau and Renee with their tepid attitude. And I'm still not liking Anifer; I use to tolerate her voice, but now I can't stand it at all and I know it's because I don't like her any more. Anifer, your parents let you off the hook with that lie that hurt Renee (the woman that practically saved your hide when mom was away), so you better do something big to win back this viewer -- just like an adult character would have to do in your place.
Kika is single-handedly saving the show for me right now.
And Flor too. Yeah, that's right, get Pablo and Lili close and snuggly with Milady.
Diana and Anon, yeah, it sure looked like Charytín in Jorge's rearview mirror when she lowered her glasses a bit.
I am really getting to like Kika these days, though I don't think she's anywhere near as attractive as Kirby does. She has done a great job of turning herself around and is now working on Jorge. But with his backsliding she may yet need a whip, a cast iron skillet, and a cattle prod.
Kirby, yeah, that was definitely meant to be an eye candy treat for the ladies, Jorge in the morning, in his underwear and socks.
:-)

Jorge the (somewhat nice) Jerk has lucked out big time.
andy
Seriously, I'm completely over Anifer. And the adults who are supposed to be raising her. Why were there no consequences (punishment) for her lie? At least make her take out the trash for a week. Oh well, maybe the first offense is free in cul-de-sac-land.
Susanlynn - musical chairs indeed. Good one!
I still do not want Jorge "raising" Lili's baby because all he will do is make rules, continue to have a corncob up his arse, and the kids will do all the dirty work --- feeding, changing poopy diapers, laundry, etc. At that point, Valentina is laying for Lili's ... indiscretion, too. Not right, not fair.
Can we push the Flor and Kika tables together on the Patio to make one big fan-fest table?
Hmmm that could work. I'll check with RGV. :-)
Yeah Kika may have had her faults, but she hides them well . WOOF
When he's with Kika, I find Jorge clumsy but endearing. With his neighbors, not so much.
However, I'm sure he will evolve. It's also looking more and more like Lili and Pablo might decide to raise the baby themselves.
Fierce looking avatar Kirby. You must really mean business today!
Glad the kids next door (or nearby) have you as an supplemental dad at least part of the time.
Kirby, when we got home the other day, there was a sparrow hawk on the telephone wire across the street from our house scanning the woods for a wee snack.

I was horrified at how Jorge really lost it with Rafa and Rod. He should not have called them names and been derogatory with them. What I would have advised him to do would be to gently take Lili and Pablo aside and privately talk to them about this decision. I would ask them how they really feel about their baby growing up without a mother and do they really want to sentence their baby to this kind of life? I would show them scholarly studies that show that children raised by homosexual parents do not do very well. I would also show how biased a lot of the information coming from the LGBTQ groups are.
A good study is this one:
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4771005/
I would counsel Lili and Pablo to seek what is really BEST for the baby, not just convenient. I would also encourage Lili to either keep the baby or make sure that the baby is going to have a good mother and father who are married, happy, and committed to one another. Two men who are “married” together does not mean they will be good parents and no matter how much Rafa tries, he can NEVER be what a mother is nor perform the emotional functions or biological functions of a real mother. Lili needs to think of her baby first.
This is another one of these novelas where hardly anyone is married. The only stable couple we had at first was Vero and Taño, but then they fell apart. The agenda of this show seeks to portray Rafa and Rod as a “stable” couple, but living in Los Angeles I have seen the gay community here and I know that this portrayal is not accurate, even though same sex marriage does exist. I think as time goes on, statistics will show that same sex marriages divorce a lot more than opposite sex marriages. Plus the dynamics within same sex couples is a lot different. Most are not really monogamous, they have open marriages, which is rare among opposite sex couples.
As for Anifer, she sure does get away with a lot!
I’m starting to like Kika! Maybe she should marry Jorge because she can help him to let up on that clutch!
He grew up to be a healthy happy wild squirrel living in the back yard and stealing peanuts with everyone else.
Cynthia, I read the studies mentioned in your link. I had not realized how discouraging the results were. Although I do know personally many cases of adoption by hetereosexual couples that turned out badly also, simply because the biological parents had behavioral problems which seemed to manifest in the children, in spite of the nurturing environment.
Sum total, since most of us have a few black sheep in our family lines, having children, or adopting them, and raising them is always a challenge and we cannot control all the risk factors our children will face or manifest. Most of us parents have worn out our knees at one time or another praying for our kids, even after they were technically adults. And I realize I gave my own parents plenty of worries and sleepless nights way beyond babyhood.
I saw another program where a really nice couple adopted one son and the other was bio. The adopted one turned out to be a criminal psychopath, something inherited from his bio parents. Before adopting, prospective parents need to know what kind of families these babies are from and check out the family history.

-La verdad no peca, pero incomoda
But thanks anyway for stopping by on your way to hell.
I am a little North of Miami and it is not as "wild" as we are farther from the Everglades.
I don't go way, waaay out in the wilderness often, then I just climb up on top of the truck...safe from things that crawl and bite. But the wildlife is getting squeezed out of it's natural habitat and is just learning to live with us interloping humans, and vice versa.
