Well, no one has offered to do a recap. I don't have a lot of time, but I can put together some things others can build on.
At Ernesto's, Alondra tells him that she didn't think he'd abandoned her, she knew it. He was interested in advancing his political career. He replies that he never stopped looking for her and even hired some investigators. "I hope you didn't pay them," Alo replies.
Jennifer asks Rodrigo not to tell anyone he was with her. "It will be our little secret." He's at first puzzled, but he agrees.
Carmen on the bus to Los Angeles tells her seatmate all about her family, shows her photos, blah blan blah. She also says her visit will be a surprise; she hasn't told them she's coming.
While Alo is at Ernesto's, Paula comes in and is surprised to see Alo. She asks Alo whether she remembers her. No, replies Alo in English, "I decided to forget all the bad things of my childhood."
Raquel and Andrés talk about Eliza. He tells her that Eliza is still in love with Max. Raquel says that if he had spoken to Eliza sooner, things would have been different. He says he didn't out of respect for Maria, may she rest in peace. She was jealous of Eliza. Women know these things. She knew that I'd fall in love with Eliza, and she was right.
Richard and Patrick are discussing Pastrana, who has entered the US on a business visa. They're planning to track the business. Just then, Joel bursts into the office and tells them that Ernesto's people know that Sofia is alive. He shows them the blogger's video. Richard asks with some hostility whether Joel was hiding information from the FBI. The two alpha males--Richard and Joel--go at it again.
Joel finally leaves the office, and Patrick goes with him. He tells Joel this is Richard's turf. Joel should go to Bogotá, marry Lorena, enjoy life, and forget about all this. [yeah, sure] Meanwhile, Richard tells Sofia that they're going to have to move her, she's not safe in Los Angeles. She'll spend tonight in a Malibu safe house and then take an early flight to New York with the FBI. Sofia asks whether Alo can come, too. No. Then I don't want to go, she says. Sorry, you don't have a choice.
Max, Eliza, Rodrigo, Karina, and Charlie are having a picnic lunch. Karina tells Charlie that when she was younger, she wanted to be an astronaut, but then she discovered she had a fear of heights. Now she wants to be a scientist and put astronauts into space. But the education she'll need is very expensive. Max tells her he can help her, and she should send him a list of the colleges she's interested in. Karina is ecstatic. After the kids go off, Eliza tells Max he shouldn't get the kids' hopes up. How can he pay for Karina's education? And how can he think about having the family together when Charlie has only six months to live. Huh? says Max. Where did you hear that?
Tomás delivers to Mark the drugs and the special stuff that will make all the girls at the party very, um, compliant. He asks Mark whether he needs more help with the party, that he needs the money. Mark agrees they could use a good-looking waiter. "You're hired."
Carmen comes to the bakery and bangs on the door. No one is there (since they're all at the picnic lunch).
At the party, Tomás warns Frida not to take any drinks. They're drugged. She thinks he's worried too much. Mark introduces Frida to Johnny Garza, who says that yes, he's VERY interested in Frida.
Cummings has sent photos of Sofia to all his slimy contacts. He's sure, however, that Sofia is dead. Paula gives him a list of names of undocumented families who have asked the embassy for help. All the families on Paula's list have daughters between the ages of 10-14. Cummings slobbers with joy. Even scrupleless Paula looks disgusted. Almost at once, Cummings gets a call from one of the contacts who has spotted someone who looks like Sofia near a pharmacy.
Tomás comes up behind Johnny (the Sleaze) Garza and "accidentally" knocks into him, spilling drinks on his jacket. Garza complains angrily to Mark. Mark tells Frida to re-do her make-up and tells Tomás to follow him to get paid and then leave.
Carmen finally finds everyone at the bakery. Including Max. Oops. Looks like the surprise is on her, and it's not a happy one.
Ernesto, completely drunk, hallucinates seeing Sofia on his sofa. He mawkishly asks why she didn't listen to him and do what he said, why did she die. He pleads with her not to go, but she disappears.
One of Richard's subordinates has been ordered to drive Sofia to the Malibu safe house. Sofia asks him to stop, she has a headache and wants to buy something for the pain. He stops near a pharmacy and goes to buy some medication for her, telling her not to leave the car. [Hah! That's about as useful as Ernesto's asking the hallucinated Sofia not to leave] As soon as the guy is out of sight, Sofia puts on dark glasses, a cap, and a hood over the cap, and leaves the car. A policeman nearby spots her and looks at the photo he has (presumably from Cummings). Sofia flags a passing cab and leaves.
Juanita: The Latina Olivia Pope looks disgusted at Cummings' perverted joy of underage girls....
There's a special place in Hell for Ernesto, Cummings, Paula, Julian & Co.,
I'm waiting for major makeover for Alondra soon.
Spanish Student: Frida is NOT long for this world. I do NOT see her being among the living & Tomas will get blamed for her demise.
Juanita: Sofia must have STUPID IDIOT on her forehead or something because she just doesn't take serious advice on her safety or even go into witness protection.
thanks so much for filling in Juanita, and my, that was a very wonderful recap as well!
hmm, Joel kind of bursts in with breaking news, I was thinking he recorded the bug he planted, but they didn't seem to listen to the part where Paula says to kill her, he kind of throws that in, all the while Joel is hostile to Rich who doesn't want him there, yep these guys are letting their emotions affect their work.
so they will go after Pastrana, but what about Paula?
so far Irv is convinced they are looking for a Sofia look-a-like, but wow, his influence is pretty widespread to be able to track her down that fast.
I'm afraid Paula will use Alo for bait.
interesting how she is keeping Julian on a string.
speaking of which, Julian gives Alo a ride home in his fancy car, but with the family back from dinner, (Julian drools over Karina) they go for lemonade, I don't think Alo feels a part of the family gathering.
I kept waiting for Tommy to come out with it, but he just tells Fri to not take a drink from anyone but him, and later hints around that all the other girls are high, and all she sees is it's a party, but then again he can't really tell her he is a gangbanger that delivers Mark's drugs.
the way Max keeps jumping into the driver's seat with his old family to take up where he left off makes me nervous, and now is it he who is using Charlie.
Great comments, deb! Yes, the guys seem to be ignoring Paula. Big mistake. I suspect you're right that Paula will use Alo as bait.
As for Max, I was glad when Carmen really lit into him last night. I still think it's likely that he won't make it to the end of the novela. Why else would the writers have him say--three times, IIRC--that he'd give his life for Charlie? And Andrés continues to be such a prince. My money is on him for Eliza. (Then again, my prediction record is horrible :-) )
Juanita: You're still convinced that Max will not make it to the Gran Final ? We'll see because if that happens, what will Psycho Jennifer do ?
Deb: Did I just hear Julian drooling over Karina ? OMG! Better pray for Karina if Slimy United States Senator Irving Cummings (R-TX) gets his dirty hands on her. He does love underage girls.
I feel like BOTH Max & Jennifer are pimping out Charles for their own sick, twisted methods.
Excellent recap, Juanita.
Was it me or did Sen. cummings say one of his men located Sofia at the pharmacy 'before' she was actually there? (Even your recap has this order, which means there was an editing mistake?)
Time for Ernesto to snap out of his funk...things are about to go from bad to worse.
The scene with Carmen talking endlessly to her captive audience/fellow passenger was hilarious. Glad she ripped into Max while Charlie was there. He needs to know that it wasn't always easy... his loving dad left them alone, homeless and broke.

Claudia husband, frank’s dirty dealing finally catches up with hit. He got shot by his ex-flunky, the one that he tried to kill. Claudia and the boyfriend rekindle love over a hospital gurney. Over Franks dead body!!
Spanish Student: I'm going to bet Tomas downhill slide into crime will likely result in Frida's tragic demise (which is going to happen considering Mark & the so-called "Producer" are involved with the Syndicate).
I could easily see Tomas being blamed for Frida's soon-to-be demise, get the death penalty.
As for DEADBEAT Max, I hope he dies & we never see or hear from his ignorant ass again.
Ernesto is successful in brainwashing Alondra as we speak.
HALIMACANDY: I believe Nesemo is the one, who likely ordered Roxana & Alejandro's parents to get butchered to death.
Thanks so much for the fine recap, Juanita. It certainly was more than "putting together things".
Alondra is certainly not sold on moving in with "Daddy Dearest" soon. She's calling him on his stuff all the time. I loved when she left the room to go to the bathroom, actually to say hello to Margarita, and said he could drink some tequila or whatever while she was gone. And he did!
Margarita is very discreet. While Alondra was very angry at her mother's "grave", she was still hoping Margarita would tell her that her mother was innocent.
I believe Carmen had told Rodrigo and the others that she had a visa for the US, but wanted to surprise Eliza. She certainly surprised Max and gave him a piece of her mind. He deserved every word. And Charlie seems mature and stable enough to hear this without going off the rails.
I'm not sure what Sofía has in mind in escaping the NYC trip. Where will she stay? If she goes back to the same apartment, Richard will find her there.
I'm not sure about Cummings; i.e., I don't know if he's really a pedophile or just profiting from others' pedophilia. He certainly gloats over the thought of little girls, but it could be just glee over more money in his bank account.
Yes, Tomás is in a pickle. He doesn't want Frida to know he's delivering drugs to Mark so he's not outright telling her what's up. I thought I recognized Johnny Garza. He played El Chivo in Eva la Trailera. He would have a hard time playing a hero; he just looks bad to the bone!
I wish I had the talent and the time to recap, but unfortunately I totally lack both.
I hated this episode.
They ruined Richard's character with his off-putting patronizing talk to Sofia. No wonder she bolted. I still hate Joel with a vengeance, but now I want Sophia alone rather than with either of so called galans.
Max is more disgusting than ever. To impose himself and his son from his bigamous marriage on Eliza like this is despicable. He knew that she wouldn't be able to say no to a sick child, so he used that sick child to his advantage. If Eliza will take him back, then Thomas really is right about her that she has no dignity.
Irene
Irene: Max is still a disgusting piece of SHIT.
Cummings reminds me of controversial Dominican Republic Dictator Rafael Trujillo, who was rumored to be having sex with underage girls, including the young daughters of several of his cabinet officers.
Do you remember the movie, "La Fiesta del Chivo" ?
Novelera: I still do NOT see Frida making it to the Gran Final. Tomas needs to FESS UP!
Muchas gracias, Spanish Student, novelera, and Irene, for your appreciative remarks and great comments.
Spanish Student, we first hear that one of Cummings' contacts has spotted someone who looks like Sofia near a pharmacy. Later, at the end of the episode, we see Sofia near a pharmacy and a policeman looking at her and then at a photo he has received of her and Joel. I don't think that was an editing error. In fact, I felt it was a rather neat way to indicate that yes, Sophia had been spotted. The events that happen in the novela are often not presented in chronological order. The absence of such order here seemed to me to add power to the final scene. When we see Sofia and the policeman, we realize that she has already been seen and reported by one of Cummings' contacts.
novelera, I too have no idea what Sofia has in mind in turning down the NYC plan other than not wanting to be separated from Alo. Given the adolescent antagonism between Richard and Joel, I wouldn't trust either of them to think clearly enough to keep her safe.
Irene, to be fair to Max, Charlie really has expressed his desire to meet his other siblings. So yes, bringing him to Eliza's did serve Max's agenda, but it also served Charlie's.
Steve, After dinner, I will test your theory about Cummings/Trujillo with my Dominican husband who lived through the Dominican Revolution to oust Trujillo.
You should tally votes on who we think will make it to the end. Alondra, Eliza, 66, Tomás, Charlie, Joel, etc...
Any more votes out there regarding our potential spies, Patrick, Richard, ????
This was really a boring episode. Not much to add.
Whaaaat? So that wasn't a corrupt cop who spotted Sofia? It's official (to me)... I'm lost and can no lomger blame the writers. 3 strikes and I'm out. Enjoy!
Spanish Student
Spanish Student, I'm assuming the policeman we saw is a corrupt cop--why else would he have received a photo from Cummings? (I'm assuming that's where the photo came from.) I'm not sure my wording in the previous message was clear, though. What we see in the final part of the episode happened right BEFORE Cummings received the call about the cop's sighting of Sofia. But we learn first about Cummings having received the call, so when we see Sofia leave the car, be seen by the policeman, and hail a cab, we know that she hasn't gotten away without someone seeing her. IMHO that adds a certain punch (or frisson, if you prefer) to that final scene.
Just so there's no confusion, let me say that I do intend to do tonight's recap. However, NEXT Tuesday, I may not be able to do one. I'm willing to switch to a different day next week (perhaps Thursday).
I lost track of who's recapping which night outside of Friday being taken. If no one has plans for tonight....I can post something.
Nett
We were probably typing our messages about the same time. I did not see that you had already planned for tonight....so we are all set. Looking forward to it.

Spanish Student: Cummings has spies inside the LAPD too ? OMG.
For a United States Senator from TX to have that much power is scary. I wondered if Cummings is the US Senate Majority Leader.
Richard receives a phone call telling him that Sofía has gotten out of the car. An angry Richard tells the caller to find her at once, she has to fly to New York the next morning.
Joel calls Lorena via Skype to report that complications have arisen and he didn't get on the plane. There's a knock on his door. He tells Lorena he'll be right back. He opens the door and Sofía rushes in. She tells him that Richard wants to take her away from Los Angeles and away from Alondra. She also expresses fears about Senator Cummings. However, she has a plan but needs Joel's help. Lorena, still connected via Skype, sees the person who came in and hears Joel call her Sofía. Joel suddenly realizes that he hasn't ended the call. He belatedly shuts the laptop.
Frida performs for Johnny. He's very enthusiastic, but he tries to kiss her and more. He tries to force himself on her, telling her "I am the door to the world, and you have to pay for a ticket to enter." [Shades of Harvey Weinstein et al.] Tomás, worried that Frida isn't responding to his calls, goes downstairs and sees Johnny attacking Frida. Tomás pulls him away and hits him. Mark comes downstairs, enraged. He tries to placate Johnny, who leaves. Tomás tells Mark that Johnny was trying to rape Frida. Frida tells Mark that Tomás said the girls were given drugs to make them comply. Mark asks her, "Did he also tell you that he brought the drugs?" Mark orders Frida to go to sleep and they'll talk in the morning. He then tells Tomás that he doesn't want him to have trouble with his gang, but if Tomás again comes near Frida, Mark will have to have a serious talk with 66, or perhaps with the police.
Much of the episode involves angry conversations between Carmen and Eliza about Max. With sarcasm and anger, Carmen recites all Max's failings. She berates Eliza for letting him back into her life and tells her she should protect her children. A furious Eliza replies "Protect them from having a father? From living with him? The same way you protected me?" Carmen responds that Eliza's father was a traitor and a dishonest scoundrel (sinvergüenza). Eliza says, "He betrayed you, not me. Did you ever think that perhaps I wanted to know him? That I needed him? I don't want Rodrigo to have that same experience."
Max confronts Jennifer with what he thinks is a lie, namely, that Charlie has only 6 months to live. Jennifer informs him that the doctor confirmed that. Charlie, unseen, watches (and hears?) the conversation. The next morning, we see Charlie making a smiley face in a calendar. He quickly puts it away in his drawer when he hears Max approach. They talk, and after Charlie leaves for school, Max takes the calendar out of the drawer and sees that each day has a number, ending some months later with #183 and the smiley face. [For the math challenged, 183 is approximately 6 month's worth of days.]
Sofía puts on a blonde wig and a more hip jacket. Joel takes photos, then makes phony documents in the name Alejandra Miranda, Sofía's name in the witness protection program. Sofía thanks him. One thing leads to another. Their theme song plays. Yup, they do it again. (However, at one point, Joel imagines Irene saying "She killed me.")
Ernesto is even drunker than before. Paula tries to give him coffee. He doesn't want anything, and tells her to leave him alone. Paula says she finds it unbelievable that he keeps crying for Sofía for so many years. Full of self-pity and self-loathing, Ernesto says he's failed at everything. He lost Sofía, Alondra hates him, Julian makes fun of him. "I have no one," he says. Paula asks, "And me? I've been with you in good times and bad." Ernesto asks, "Do you care for me?" Paula replies: "I love you." [And guess what happens next.]
Lorena does a web search for Irving Cummings. She comes upon a newspaper photo of Ernesto and family. She looks at the photo and realizes that indeed, the woman she saw on Skype bursting into Joel's apartment is Sofía Villavicencio.
Karina asks Alondra what her father's house is like. "It's very large, really too large," Alo says. It has tennis courts, a pool, a jacuzzi, enormous gardens. She says that her father keeps saying how much he missed her, it makes her want to vomit. As for Julian, all he cares about is his car and his fancy clothes, but he does make me laugh.
Joel arranges for someone to conduct a television interview with Alejandra Miranda. In the interview, she talks about her life, her career, and how annoying it is that people are saying she looks like Sofía Villavicencio. Yes, there's a little resemblance, but not all that much. And she doesn't like being compared to Sofía, who was a criminal, a human trafficker.
Julian says to Paula that she sleeps with his father and she sleeps with him. And that makes her a... "A what?" asks Paula. Julian is saved from having to answer by a loud noise from the kitchen. Julian and Paula rush into the kitchen to see what's wrong. Margarita was so astonished when she saw "Alejandra" on TV that she dropped a plate. They too stare at the television, though Paula then tells Margarita to clean up the broken plate and get back to work. Julian asks whether they should tell Ernesto. Tell him what, asks Paula. That there's a photographer who bears some resemblance to Sofía? Don't be silly. Go do something productive with your life.
Paula goes to see Senator Cummings. She wants to send Pastrana to take care of matters. Cummings dismisses Paula's concern. People in the witness protection program go to small towns and disappear. They certainly don't go on television. He laughs at Paula's "feminine intuition," saying that's what women depend on when they're unable to think with their brain. After he leaves, Paula meets with Pastrana. They agree that there's cause for concern, and "we have to look after our interests."
Tomás returns to Mark's house as soon as he sees Mark drive away. Frida is upset that he brought the drugs. "You told me you sold cookies, not drugs." He explains that he's not a drug pusher, and he also reminds her that he warned her about the drugs. "What about the other girls?" asks the suddenly socially conscious Frida. Who is taking care of them? She asks him to leave.
Joel and Sofía are together in Joel's apartment. She tells him that what they did last night was just an impulsive act, nothing more. Sofía asks him whether he can say that he's convinced that she didn't kill his sister. Just then, there's a knock at the door (of course). Joel opens the door and Richard charges in (of course), and the two of them get into another fight (of course). Sofía breaks it up. Richard asks, "What are you guys doing?" Since it's not clear they have any idea, the episode ends.
This episode was ridiculous from the beginning to the end, probably the worst one so far. Thank you Juanita for soldiering through it and providing us with another fantastic recap, it is so much better then the episode itself. I loved your closing line " Richard asks, "What are you guys doing?" Since it's not clear they have any idea, the episode ends". So, so true.
I said earlier on that it would be insulting to amoebas to be compared to Joel, and boy was I not wrong about him. He is just about the dumbest character that has ever existed in any telenovela.
It is beyond my comprehension how a trained Interpol agent would leave his skype open when answering the door to what in all probability is going to be a work visit( it's not like he ordered pizza and was waiting for the delivery). To not close the computer immediately after seeing Sophia is simply criminally negligent.
To not be worried about what his girlfriend could have overheard is insane.
To fail to understand that Sophia is the victim in this whole situation after overhearing the entire conversation between Paula and Pastrana proves that he has the intelligence of a doormat.
I don't even have words to qualify his act of bedding Sophia while believing she killed his sister. No normal mentally sain person would sleep with someone who cold bloodedly murdered his pregnant sister.
And don't even get me started on Sophia's absurd plan that he went along with all the while knowing that Paula already knows that Sophia is alive and will most certainly try to kill her. While a wig and some bold red lipstick might fool the general public, there is no way that anyone knowing Sophia intimately would be fooled. What did they think, that Paula would suddenly be convinced that it's some random photographer and call off the hit?
Irene
This episode made me loose the last shred of respect I had for Eliza. She really does have no dignity. I wanted to barf when she said that she is in love with Max. I don't know who writes for this telenovela, but I have a suspicion that the whole Eliza storyline was written by a 20 year old intern. I can't imagine a woman suffering such a betrayal that would still be in love with someone like Max. He married someone else for money while being married to you, for fu--s sake. That alone would have been a huge turn off. Added to that the fact that he abandoned her and the children, never cared about their wellbeing and only came back to their life after being accidentally discovered and no normal woman would have slapped him all the way to New York.
It is interesting that Eliza always talks about the fact that Max abandoned them after discovering Charlie's illness, so he had reasons to abandon them, but never about the fact that his betrayal started 4 years before Charlie's illness and it was all for monetary gain. I can't imagine any woman would just forget about that part.
I also can't believe Eliza would hesitate about telling Alondra everything about Ernesto. Alondra is in danger and that is the only way to protect her from her father, so how is it even an option not to tell her everything.
And Max and Jennifer, how insensitive and dumb are they to talk about Charlie's terminal diagnosis while knowing that he might overhear them. They both are terrible people and deserve each other, however something tells me that at the end Jennifer will die and Charlie will end up living with Eliza and Max just like Steve ended up living with Jennifer's family. But I am so disgusted with this so called romance between Eliza and Max that I don't even care who ends up with whom anymore.
Anon: This episode was boring. We all know Sofia didn't have Irene whacked & she's innocent. Of course, dumb-ass Joel still thinks she whacked his sister.
Irene: I lost respect for Eliza from the get-go.
Lorena coming to Los Angeles in 20, 19, 18....
I wouldn't be shocked if both Max & Jennifer die in the end.
Juanita: Richard becoming more unhinged.
that was an outstanding recap Juanita, so many details and it flowed along so smoothly, I really appreciate the time you put into these.
if I could add a little thing, I loved it when Alo was describing Ernesto's place, I think she said the garden was so big she was sure there is a tiger hiding in there someplace.
Great recap Juanita.
The plan to unveil Alejandra was so ridiculous and outlandish. We know it wouldn’t work in the real world . But hey...the only disguise Superman had was glasses as Clark Kent so there we have it.
Well we knew Julian wouldn’t take Julia going back to daddy after being with him...so his jabs at her during breakfast were deliberate. Ernie managed to shut him down and tell him to respect her. Interesting though how Julia handled things with Julian afterwards. She didn’t promise to leave daddy alone ...at all ...and at the same time kept her options open with the son. She is ruthless in more ways than one.
Carmen going at Eliza about Max and having dignity was spot on. That whole situation of letting him back in after abandonment made no sense. So many things could have gone wrong with her and the kids and he didn’t bother to plan or look out for them even from a distance. At least when they were in Mexico he came to visit and sent money. Eliza is as weak and feeble as Max is for rolling over...despite Charlie’s health...whom by the way was conceived out of infidelity. No sympathy for either of them.

No takers. And I bet there are dozens more people reading the blog who don't even comment. It's been said many times that recaps don't have to be long, inclusive, and with translations. A paragraph or two would probably serve to stimulate comments.
I'm irritated as you can probably see. If people can minutely pick apart the plot with comments, they can spend the same amount of time writing about what happened so as to make the distribution of effort more fair.
Maybe that contributes to people being unwilling to try. Well, that and getting yelled at for daring to question someone everyone else seems to be ignoring. Or having to wade through posts for a bunch of different shows instead of having a post for one day of one show like the rest of this blog is set up.
Deb: "I think she said the garden was so big she was sure there is a tiger hiding in there someplace."
Hmmmm. Tiger in some secret place at Ernesto's big mansion ?

THANK YOU...thanks to all the recappers, YOU'E ALL unsung heroes!!!! and your fingers are due for Reki massages!!
while I certainly can understand your point of view, I think you should consider the fact that a comment is very different from a recap and that not everyone has the skills and/or the ability to recap. I, for example, often can't watch the episode until much later, and my work schedule prevents me from knowing in advance whether I will have time for my favorite telenovelas or not, so it's not realistic for me to commit to recapping in such circumstances.
I am sure there are many more people in my situation.
Also, please know that not everyone is capable of recapping. It requires certain skills that some people, myself included, unfortunately don't have. Writing a comment and analyzing the plot is not the same as recapping .
In addition there are a lot of people too shy or too afraid of criticism or too demanding towards themselves that for those reasons can't recap. Again, commenting is not the same thing and for some people, even commenting, and even doing so anonymously is difficult for the abovementioned reasons.
Finally, I think that people comment on Caray because it is fun to discuss telenovelas with likeminded people and I hope that our wonderful recappers recap because they have fun sharing their gift with all of us. If recapping becomes a chore for people that are not equipped to deal with it, then it will stop being fun and people will stop commenting.
You are right, no one should be forced to provide two recaps in a row, but if no one can volunteer a recap for a specific episode, maybe its better to do what the team on Por Amar Sin Ley did in such a situation. They simply left the floor open for comments (and if I remember correctly, one person provided a short summary in one of the comments).

@Anonymous. The Telemundo site doesn't have nearly the traffic as the Univision areas. Many years ago Juanita and LXV agreed to put up a page each week so we could keep our little area of the world going. It eventually morphed into two pages per week. We also agreed to put the name of the novela we were discussing at the top of our recaps or comments. It's been very generous of Juanita and LXV to keep doing this all these years. The traffic here doesn't really need a new page every day. On the Univision pages, each new page consists of a page for each evening novela each day. And that page begins with a recap for that day. As I understand it, for that to work each recapper needs to have an admin authorization to put up the page. We don't have 5 recappers for each of the 3 evening novelas on Telemundo.
I already confirmed today's recap during a discussion last week. Unfortunately it'll be my last as my fav show, Westworld, returns from hiatus this month and I'll devote any free time to learning the Spanish version for my Spanish class.
I'm also lost in our novela, but I'll do what I can.

Spanish Student: I hope you don't leave us forever. I like to see how Jennifer will react to seeing Carmen in Los Angeles.
Wow, I've been away from my computer all day, and I came back to find a bunch of messages to which I'd like to respond. First and foremost, though, many thanks to Irene, deb, and Nett for your appreciative remarks and interesting comments.
Irene, I agree with many of your comments, especially those about Joel's ineptness as an Interpol agent. I too have found myself wondering how he could have become a full-fledged Interpol agent when he had clearly flunked INTP 101.
deb, thanks for adding the bit about the tiger. Actually, there were many other bits that I was tempted to include, especially in the heated exchanges between Eliza and Carmen. I thought those were especially well done.
Nett, I loved your comment about Superman: "But hey...the only disguise Superman had was glasses as Clark Kent so there we have it."
Anon7:22, though I understand and to some extent share your anger at the way Max has treated Eliza, I thought last night's episode did a rather good job of helping us understand some of what's motivating Eliza. As I said in my recap, Eliza is bitter that she never knew her own father, that she felt she needed him and had no opportunity to be with him, and that though he may have betrayed Carmen, Eliza felt he didn't betray her. She tells Carmen that she doesn't want Rodrigo to have the same fatherless experience that she had. So yes, Carmen forcefully called attention to Max's many failings, but at least in last night's episode, the situation seemed less one-sided and more understandable.
I'd also like to encourage you and others who don't sign postings to do so. You don't have to use your real name, just a name that would help us recognize you as an individual.
Juanita: You've watched this TN lately ? I cannot believe the Prison Warden got shot SMH.
I hope Alejandro & Co., can stop the hacker from infiltrating into the Mexican Federal Law Enforcement Agency's computers, etc.,
While watching the interaction between Carmen and Eliza, I was wondering if Eliza's long-lost father would show up at some point. I think it would be an interesting turn of events.
For some reason I thought Sofía had actually bleached her hair instead of donning a wig. Didn't she have blonde hair when she and Joel got it on? Who leaves their wig on for that?
Senator Slimy is SO patronizing with Paula. If he weren't a key figure in the child trafficking ring, I'd expect her to send Pastrana after him! And I was VERY surprised Paula told Ernesto that she loved him. I suppose I thought all her machinations were for her own benefit.
Insofar as Joel leaving his computer open when he went to the door, I suppose I can see he'd make that mistake. It was dumb to leave it open while talking with Sofía. What he SHOULD have done (if only these people would listen to me!) after realizing it was open was to admit to Lorena that she was there and he'd talk with her about it later. Slamming shut the laptop make him look guilty.
Juanita, I am Anon 7:22, just forgot to sign my comment.
While I can understand that Eliza is influenced by the absence of her father and thus doesn't want her own children to have the same experience, it is clear that she chose to be with Max not because of the children but because she has romantic feelings for him. The children and her past are just the excuse, because she is too embarrassed of the real reason- that despite the fact that he wiped the floor with her, she keeps loving Max and wants to be with him.
Irene
Spanish Student, I'm really pleased that you'll do tonight's recap, but I'm very disappointed to learn that you'll be leaving us. (Or did I misunderstand you? are you just not able to do more recaps after tonight, or will you be giving all your free time to Westworld?). I've loved your comments, which always struck me as clear and insightful.
Anon4:25, it may seem as if "Caray is Caray," but that's not the case. The Univision part is older than the Telemundo part, has different expectations, different policies, and a much larger following, mostly because Univison is much more widely available than Telemundo. A few years ago, we came perilously close to losing the Telemundo pages. Only a groundswell of support saved the day. Our recaps are nothing like the very long, detailed recaps for Univision novelas, nor do we usually get anything close to the number of comments. There have been a very few times in the past when the number of comments for a Telemundo novela was so great that we were able to have a separate page devoted just to that novela, but that hasn't happened in several years.
I'm not sure what you mean when you say "What's the big deal about getting permission to post? Is it really that difficult?" One doesn't need permission to post comments, even long comments. If you're talking not about posting comments but having a separate page, yes, that's a very different matter. Having a page gives a person much more responsibility, and the blog mom is careful about who can have that responsibility. But no matter how worthy a person is, the blog mom is also not going to give permission for a page unless the page is warranted by the number of comments. The modest number of comments about Telemundo novelas is easily accommodated by the current arrangement.
I don't know whether you're the same Anonymous person who posted at 7:32, but I would encourage you (too?) to sign your posts. You needn't use your real name, just a name that would help us distinguish among the Anonymous posters and recognize you as an individual.
Irene, I think we're simply going to have to agree to disagree about Eliza's motives. Certainly you're right that her love for Max (and his apparent love for her) is a very strong part of her decision. However, I don't think that "the children and her past are just an excuse."
Computer Literate
Irene, it's true that for people doing Univision recaps, a comment is very different than a recap. But here on the "Telemundo side" (to use a phrase that's useful but that some people find objectionable), recaps can take a variety of forms, from lengthy, detailed accounts to short "just the facts, ma'am" style, to a couple of paragraphs to get us started, to relatively short, delightful, impressionistic accounts. In terms of ability, anyone who can put together a thoughtful comment a couple of paragraphs long can probably produce a useful recap. I'm sure you could. Time constraints are another matter. It may be that your work schedule simply doesn't give you the time or schedule predictability that you ideally should have. But even if you can't commit to a specific day, I'd like to encourage you to consider giving recaps a try if you find you have the time on a given day when no one else has said they can do one (and the stars and planets align correctly :-) ).
As for not being able to watch the novela until later, I guess it depends on what "later" means. I'm now on the West Coast, and by the time I put up my recaps, most sensible people on the East Coast (and some on the West Coast) are asleep. :-) I do recall at least one recapper some time ago (I can't remember who) who used to post recaps the next morning.
OK OK ¡ya basta! :-)
Here are some names: Fermin's cousin is Puenzo. The new warden is Angel Cordero. His second in command is Gibran Mendiola. Bowser's real name is Rovaldo Balado. The head women's guard is Eladia Cornejo.
I'm totally on Alex's side, but he doesn't seem to realize that his interrogation techniques (threatening to kill, cut off fingers, etc.) don't really work (even in this show, they generally don't work, and the writers could make them work if they wanted to). And of course he keeps getting in trouble for these methods. On the other hand, he's the best cop out there, and w/o him the cops would have no hope of stopping the drug gangs. So far, they're not doing too well, but they do keep trying.
I'm also a little disappointed that Roxana is actually sort of bad, she sort of ordered Minerva's death, and she's actively working for the business of the Mil Cumbres. But I guess that's the whole point of the show - Alejandro and Roxana are siblings, neither one knows it, and one day they will, and what will they do, since he's a cop, and she's a "crook"?
Computer Literate, it's true that on a technical level, the blog isn't split into two parts. In practice, however, very different rules, assumptions, and history operate in the part(s)/pages of the blog devoted to Univision than to the part/page devoted to Telemundo. The blog mom, who is the founder of CarayCaray and is still blog mom, has never had much interest in Telemundo. I'm told she doesn't receive it in whatever TV arrangement she has. The Telemundo page came about because a number of people were watching Telemundo novelas as well as Univision novelas and wanted a space to discuss Telemundo. There were many fewer Telemundo watchers, certainly not enough to warrant separate pages for each Telemundo novela, but the Telemundo fans were very happy when the blog mom agreed that there could be a Telemundo page.
Several years ago, some problems arose on some pages devoted to Univision novelas. I don't know the details, since by then I was watching only Telemundo novelas, and the problems didn't involve the Telemundo page. I do know that the blog mom was quite upset at the problems and at first proposed closing down the entire CarayCaray site. Many people pleaded with her not to do that. Then she proposed just streamlining the CarayCaray site by getting rid of the Telemundo page and anything else not directly related to the evening Univision novelas. This gave rise to many pleas not to get rid of the Telemundo coverage. Finally, after putting in place several additional security measures across the board, she agreed to keep the Telemundo page as part of CarayCaray.
There have almost never been enough comments to warrant a separate page devoted to a single Telemundo novela. Since discussion of all three evening novelas takes place on the same page, the policy has been to put the name of the novela at the top of one's comment. Surely typing a single word at the top doesn't impose a great burden on the writer. Adding this one word (e.g., Lado, Enemigo) makes it easier to find comments on a single novela, both now and in the future.
Richard accuses Joel of manipulating Sofia into escaping his custody. But Sofia accepts the blame... "por nada del mundo voy a dejar a mi hija. Yo te lo dije."
Pastrana shows Paula family pics, etc. of Alejandra Miranda, Sofia's false identity. He thinks its too much to be fake but Paula's not fully convinced.
Carmen and Andres are relaxing in his front yard drinking Tequila. She says all this time she was certain her prayers had been answered - that he was 'the one' for Eliza. When asked, he resists talking about Eliza and Max...the pair currently meeting in the local park. With tears Max tells Eliza that he and Charlie have recently learned that Charlie has only 6 months to live. Eliza knows how hard it must be for a parent to watch a child suffer, but she suggests that he guardarse su dolor (de padre) y celebrar la vida. He agrees.
Tomas tries to cut ties with his lord, 66, who manipulates him into 30 more entregas/deliveries. Later on, Benny asks 66 for a job... he needs money. 66 spots Max getting in his car and tells Benny to rob?him...he's spending too much time in the neighborhood. Benny tells him that Max is Tomas' dad but that only makes 66 want it more (...cause Tomas gives him a hard time ?).
Joel and Sofia show her fake IDs to Richard...proving they covered all bases, except ... Alejandra Miranda was fake-married to Richard (under his fake identity, a businessman). Claimed he told her a long time ago but she probably wasn't paying attention.
Paula calls Alejandra/Sofia, representing Ernesto's office, and invites her to some artistic/cultural event. For once Richard and Joel agree that its a bad idea for her to go, but Sofia insists.
[La neta, la neta? - mentioned twice in the episode but its not in my dictionary. Does it mean the absolute truth?]
Mark listens to Frida's fears about working with Johnny(?). It's the way things work in Hollywood, he tells her, and one way or another he wants a return on his investment. (Looks like Frida and Tomas have the same problem...both are being played.)

Julian picks up Alondra from school in his fancy car while her haters look on. They return to the consulate for Margarita's tacos. Alondra calls Karina to let her know she won't make dinner, much to Carmen's chagrin. Julian is crushing on Karina but Alondra orders him to back off. She doesn't think her spoiled, rich brother is good enough for clean, ambitious Karina. So he steals Karina's number from her phone and sends an anonymous text (Hola Karina, me encantas!!!!). Karina sees it and smiles.
Ernesto's drinking continues during work hours and as usual Paula tries to talk some sense into the monster she created. Sofia shows up for the meeting, she and Paula faking their way through small talk, when Ernesto sees her and immediately has a heart attack. Paula yells at her to leave but at the hospital she tells Pastrana to find her (Alejandra)...she still has doubts.
Privileged, worldly Julian doesn't speak English and Alondra has to translate at the hospital. Ernesto, alone with Alondra in his hospital room, says he saw Sofia...that her mother is alive. Alondra repeats it to Paula who lies and conceals what just happened with Alejandra/Sofia. She blames Ernesto's poor health on work and stress. Alondra tells Julian in front of Paula that she doesn't trust her/'la bruja'.
No one shows up for dinner and Carmen complains to Karina. Tomas finally connects with his abuela by telling her about his new love interest, Frida.
Eliza shares her sadness over Charlie's prognosis with Andres. They embrace. At Jennifer's, she and Max, separately, try to console Charlie to no avail. Jen promises that she'll do whatever it takes to keep him alive for many years.
Patrick goes along with the Alejandra identity but wants photos of the happy couple - Alejandra/Sofia and Richard. Joel tries to convince Patrick that Richard is actually in love with Sofia. Patrick replies with "Y tu? Que sientes por Sofia?"
Wedding photo scene with actors. Joel appears...he spoke with one of Richard's jefes and now he's back on the case...hubby Richard is not happy but neither was Joel with the wedding kiss. Keeping with the farse, Richard plants his things in Alejandra's/Sofia's bedroom. He sets things straight with Sofia...yes he loves her but that can wait...right now its about protecting her and Alondra..."Te voy a proteger con mi vida". Not good for the last words of the show...can't help but wonder.

*This is a quick, facts-only version, for the most part. Feel free to add and/or correct.*
Spanish Student, this is a terrific recap! You sell it and yourself short when you describe it as a "quick, facts-only version." I loved your pointing out that Richard's "I'll protect you with my life" is a pretty ominous way to end the episode.
So now we've got two men who claim to be willing to give their life for another person. I wonder whether that's how the writers will take care of both love complications, clearing the way for Andrés and Joel. I'm much more enthusiastic about the first than the second, but....
As for "la neta," yes, it's an expression used a lot in Mexico to mean "the truth."
Are you familiar with WordReference.com? It's a fantastic resource for words and, especially, expressions. It's Spanish-to-English dictionary offers "truth" as the first definition of neta and provides an illustrative sentence: ¡Es la neta!: yo nunca te miento."
Yes, 66 is even more eager for Benny to do in Max once he learns that Max is Tomás's father. He claims he wants to teach Tomás a lesson. I'm not sure just how all this is going to turn out. I even wonder whether Tomás's hostility to Max will come back to haunt him.
Seeing what a wonderful recap you've written makes me all the sadder that you may be leaving us. I've found that writing recaps has helped my Spanish. Hint hint :-)
I'm hoping perhaps you'll reconsider.
Thanks so much, Spanish Student. I loved your "just the facts" style. Very well written, indeed.
To me la neta has always meant "the truth" but much more colloquial, perhaps like "for real".
I gotta say, Mark is, at least for me, the only bad gay guy I've ever seen in a telenovela. Mostly they're good guys or, sometimes, especially in Uni novelas, limp wristed caricatures.
I got a big kick out of Joel's sour face during the "wedding".
I think 66 wants Benny to badly beat up Max. And, yes, it's because he's Tomás' father. [Thanks, Benny, you jerk!] Tomás is being rebellious and 66 can't take any insubordination in the ranks. I STILL don't understand why 66 says he owes him anything. Tomás brought all the money back, as I recall.
Halimacandy, no one has ever referred to me as a "Saint-in-training" before (and probably not said it about deb or LXV, either), and I doubt anyone will again, but I have to confess that I loved your doing so!
And thanks very much for offering to put up some quicky recaps if need be. Whether recaps or comments, your input would be welcome.
Juanita and Novelera, thank you! Thanks to you both (and deb) for maintaining this Telemundo forum and offering your creative insights into novela-world.
Juanita, Yes, there was definitely cause to worry for Max and Richard. You may be right about Tomas' hostility coming back to haunt him...though to me, Max hasn't suffered enough. Y eso es la neta!
Due to my Spanish class, my time will be more limited during the next few months...but I'll certainly pitch in whenever I can.
Novelera, I think Alondra's 'la neta' comment meant 'for real'.
And yes, Tomas owes 66 absolutamente nada. But i've learned my lesson, i think. If the writers don't include one scene where Tomas ponders his predicament to the point where he does something other than just going along, then its time to adjust my beanie. 66 supposedly likes Tomas because he's smart, but he's really quite clueless.
Spanish Student
wow Spanish Student, that was a terrific recap, loved it, to the point!
I hadn't realized those were Alo's hate fans standing on the curb, ha! when she jumped into Julian's hot car.
last show Ernesto gave Julian an ultimatum, to do something with his life, gave him a week to be enrolled in one of LA's better universities, but tonight I think Julian playfully told Alo he was trying to get her back together with her dad to get him off his back.
I'm waiting to see if Paula will use Julian to get to Alo.
novelera, you seemed surprised the other night when Paula told Ernesto she loved him, in a vulnerable moment, and tonight she seemed concerned when he collapsed, and maybe she has got to like the dummy after all these years, but I'm thinking the bottom line is , he is her meal ticket, I think the closest we've seen her hook-up with anyone was with Vincentito.
Paula had Ernesto's driver (Trejo ??) follow Sofia, but she jumped in a cab and he lost her, so she asked Pastrana to check the security tapes for the license number.
it seems like Eliza turned down that dinner date with Steve a while back, because her family always eats dinner together, what?
I'm loving Gabriel Porras (Ernesto) and Daniela Wong (Alondra) together, I'll bet they are having fun.
Spanish Student, la neta, I'm far from being the expert here, but when I first ran into this word in the narcos I went with more of a slang thing like in Urban Dictionary,
"Spanish for something totally rad and completely off the hook. The definite and absolute. Something that is considered a universal truth. Cannot be literally translated but it is awfully close to the slang word "legit" meaning the real deal, but at the same time cool/wicked."
thanks Hombre for the new names.
don't forget he pulled that one guys tooth and got him to talk, which the human rights lady, Lulu, is dogging him about.
tonight he had a new trick.
the one he leaned on the hardest that never broke, was Roxana.
Halimacandy, the alcohol and yelling drive me nuts, along with like tonight he brings his gun to the alley party so they can sell it for booze, so they play russian roulette, but your short recaps let me tag along, thanks!
Spanish Student: Your recap was awesome. Is it possible that Cummings could be Eliza's biological Daddy ?
Deb: Julian cannot speak any English at all WOW! Looks like Alondra, Ernesto & maybe Paula will do the translating.
Juanita: Benny was a bad influence on Tomas & now we're likely to see the negative ramifications.
Novelera: Julian having a thing for Karina is a Red Flag!
Deb, thank you! We haven't seen any scenes with the school bullies lately. I wonder how Alondra having a rich family, even if rejected, will affect her and Karina's popularity.
In fact, I agree with Steve, Julian's interest in Karina is A Red Flag. Before the 10 year jump when Julian was rejecting Sofia, I thought it would be easier to convince him of his father's guilt if he was affected....perhaps by having a schoolmate or girlfriend become a victim of traffickers. That didn't happen but I can't help but think that now, 10 years later, both Alondra and Karina are at risk. Too old for Sen Cummings but capable of being used/exploited when the war begins. Ernesto's suffering shows that he's capable of being redeemed, and Julian's a spoiled jerk but not a criminal, so I'm hoping we'll see a change/ sacrifice/or some form of redemption from both of them.
La neta, la neta - officially incorporated into my limited vocabulary.

First, thanks to all the recappers who dedicate so much of their time to us novela addicts. Thank you.
That was the most boring episode yet, and I'm rapidly losing interest. Again, we have the fill material of side stories and they add nothing to the main plotline.
I hope I can stay with this novela, but I'm not sure.
I agree with Victoria, this episode was boring and did nothing to advance the plot. Just way too much crying, talking and commiserating for a single episode.
I was terribly annoyed by Benny standing smugly in the background while Thomas tried to extricate himself from clutches of the gang. That little gangster wannabe should have begged Thomas' forgiveness and volunteered himself as a drug distributor instead of Thomas.
He is disgusting and I hope Max whoops his ass when he attempts to assault him, which will probably not happen but should, since Max is about twice as big as Benny and much stronger.
I am disappointed in Thomas for going around moping about Frida, when he should have been upset by the fact that he committed a serious crime of distribution of rohypnol (date rape drug) and that he could have prevented several young women from being raped but did nothing for them and only saved Frida.
He should have anonymously tipped the police about the party instead of trying to save just his girlfriend .
Just for the general information, a person convicted of possession of Rohypnol with intent to distribute can face a prison term of no less than 10 years and up to life in prison. If the distribution of Rohypnol resulted in the death or severe bodily harm of the recipient, the prison sentence is increased to not less than 20 years and up to life in prison and intent to distribute can be deemed even if the person gives the drug to only one person.
Rohypnol is a very dangerous drug, which can have catastrophic side-effects.
The fact that Thomas allowed such a horrible thing to happen to those girls should weigh heavily on his conscience.

When Richard said to Joel that he will charge him with obstruction of justice, I just about lost the remnants of respect that I had for him.I don't know how well Richard fared at the FBI Academy, but I bet he wasn't good at the law enforcement training since he failed completely to understand what obstruction of justice is.
According to the law, one commits the offense of obstruction of justice when "corruptly or by threats or force, or by any threatening letter or communication, influences, obstructs, or impedes, or endeavors to influence, obstruct, or impede, the due administration of justice". Joel may be an annoying dumbass, but his behavior definitely doesn't qualify as obstruction of justice.
