Just a season close out review of Ultima Sem...?? Why !?oh why??

Roxy and Tilapia were in a lip lock when Madre walked in... he slams a book down to let them know he know’’

Alex and Miramar exchange memories and he related his traumatic childhood, she consoles him.

Madre is hopping mad [dog]... he can’t touch her, but, lover boy, Tilapia is in the crosshairs...Ears, to no avail... runs down the options and ramifications of murder...

Luis tells his dad abt the accident in the motel [ rough ...sex gone very wrong]??

The Fed, gamer girl meets with her friend [plant] again and he pumps her for information abt her day/life…...building a profile on her ... and smashing [ sexing] her stuff, to ensure her involvement…

Alex is abt to administer ‘truth’ serum to lacky and damn if that ‘dope’ don’t work on his resistance…the dude sings like a bird… and id’s Luis!!! Yea!!

Luis shows up at the jail and connects with Roxy… he shows up at the border checkpoint and they recognize him, but they are let them go, to have them followed but the Feds were sloppy abt it and they…bust the police helicopter??!!

Alex and his cohorts don’t have half the equipment that Nacros have...!!!

 

ENEMIGO #132

Primao was confronted by the journalist…. He was challenged /exposed in public as a crook….
Luis and criminals show up, finally after trying to blow up a heliocopter , they returned safe /sound back home ,however Nemesis is pissed,because of the confrontation with the Feds….they brought down HEAT !!!
ROXY asked his bro.Luis to make sure the warden’s wife, gets dead forever...

Dad is concern abt Luis’s wellbeing with the Feds having his ID...!

The Feds. Are looking for Luis’ hideouts and they trace the car…. Alex… is upset and lucky to be alive…!!

The rapist cop and Gordo Maria- Mambita are screwing all the time… he misses his job /duty roster and shirks his responsibility…

ROXY is called to the new Warden’s office. and he tells her he is here for her… the plan is to get her out…ASAP!! He works for the Professor…, she relates her situation with Madre…

The covert informer fed mole/Pennuz? is having a baby and he is the right-hand man of Alex m the feds have a mole …he calls his cuz, Knights and tells him that the Feds found Samson’s house…!!
Madre is on the new warden’s case, he feels he is being disrespected … Tilapia suggest they have a strike, not a riot to show strength…

Alex is heading to Samson’s but too bad, the mole, Cuz /Penuzo? has blown the lid off..
There were some sacrifices when the cops came in but not Samson, he got in the wind…

Roxy and Tilapia meet up and do their thing as always... but he begins to pump her for information .
She NOW Understands his games... There is NO doubt.He is POLICE...!!!Snitches get stitches……Rat in the hole..!!

CUBANA… is visiting with the case worker… may be getting out... hope she makes it into the next series??!...

Puma was right, you let the itch-bay live and she stabs you in the back… Puma called it!!! cause Ochun is working for the knights Templar…. The man doesn’t even care abt her…...


Gatos has a case review with the case worker!! wonder if he makes it …To next year...
Alex is visiting the jail, when all hell broke loose. He finds out that Roxy had a visit from her ‘Cholo’ cuz... he gets suspicious of the new administration and they know it...!!

Alex checks in with Tilapia as Dunas prison goes up the spout of hell!!
Alex realizes Tilapia is NOT making any head way with ‘Roxy and she’ s got -his -nose- wide- opened!
And Alex is caught getting lovey-dovey with Miramar, by the new warden’s Mendiola?? assist.They have found his weakness!!

 

Enemigo #133
Madre had the Cordero /warden stitched up already.

…he threatened the man by telling him that he knows all abt his family...blah blah blee blee... but he doesn’t know the warden has Nemesis on an inside track, Madre’s days are numbered...

He is a liability… he has over played his hand. He gets a truce, but the association is doomed… peace not war. And he spits on Cordero’s certificate… and symbolically cleans it up...to signify...what??... their master /slave, relationship.

Zoraida is upset that Roxy is getting preferential treatment when Mambita makes a joke at Zoraida expense. For her joke, she gets the crap slapped out of her...!!Then Zoraida, beats the crappola out of her just for good measure and kills her???

Alex is getting frustrated that the Samson assault was a wash...they strategize but /Penuzo the knights Templar ‘s rat is sitting at the strategy meeting just taking it all in…

The case worker …. Goes to the alley ,where Gato's gang/ crew hangs out and they approach some old folks, but they get snagged by the thugs / corner boys...

Ochun is busted as well, Roxy 611 /redials the last number and Turk answers the phone… Roxy is hot …on that ass!! OMG...When Puma gets wind that’s a wrap!!

The news on the bloque traveled fast…Mamba is dead!!??

The caseworker, Ms. Goody -two-shoes and the poor trainee, almost had a train pulled on them, that ‘BS’can of pepper spray was- too- little- too- late, she should have done a wide sweep before... hit them first, then haul ass!!

....Lula and trainee are chilling with all their stuff intact, with their hero, the journalist dude… he tells her to back off and while he has her attention, he proceeds to bust her utopian bubble... by challenging her rainbow and sunshine approach to criminal...like the ones that had them hemmed up and ready to pass around like cake !!

I hope these two polar opposites..caseworker & news guy, fall in love, how many times does this man have to rescue this chick….??

Mamba rolls back, she repents and pledges loyalty. Zoraida drops a dime abt the love birds...

Gamer girls has a rude awakening… but she calls him on BS, and he is not concerned…they fall back in bed...

Lulu ??the case worker takes her concerns to PRIMOS??!! Hasn’t anybody clued her into his position as a NARCO lawyer...!! I worry abt this self-righteous, obtuse, myopic chick, she is on a crusade with the fervor of a zealot and fanatic… but,not a religious… however there is no humility here!!
...Luis and dad discuss Primo. Luis thinks he is a liability…

Madre is informed abt the lovers meeting and that sets Madre off... which don’t take much

Not my usual recap but a few observations.

Tom goes to hospital to check on Max who happens to be walking around. Tom does not want to engage with Maz whi extends an open door. I really dont blame Tom...who obviously is torn with this situation.

It appears that Frida'a plan to get a contract b4 having 2 sleep with the producer is working. I thought shw was gona sell out but guess shes more savy than expected.

Julians plans to meet and woo Karrina are in full swing as they have lunch and have talk appear to have fun.

Alondra is still confused about her mom as Eliza and Carmen have not told her the full story and Ernie continues to fill her head with doubts and lies.

Most intersting last night is Jen' sinister plans to harvest what she needs from Rod without Eliza or Max knowledge or aporoval. Shes trying to trick Max into getting some level of legal guardianship over Rod which she will then use to her advantage to help cure Charlie. If she wld just come out and ask...Im sure all would agree to help but she wants to cure charlie and keep max in the dark and in her life.

Glad eliza now knows the family connect regarding steve and eliza. Steve did look peevish when she walked in. He got some splaining 2 do.

Andreas continues to step up his galan game by confronting 66 and defeating a few of the gang members. Sadly...the gang will likely try 2 kill him in the near future.

Charlies romp and kiss at the beach didnt go quite as planned since he had 2 b rushed to the hospital. Rod did concoct a cute plan.

I wont comment on the Ernie Sofia Alondra meet orchestrated by Julia as I didnt pay close attention 2 the dialogue.

Thanks Nett! I was clueless about Jen's plan. I agree, seems like more work than necessary since everyone's getting along or is at least pretending. And for some reason I thought Steve was gonna get a personality but I guess not...just another Max.

So ....a short while ago Jen asked Max not 2 leave her b4 Charlie dies. So if he is cured and no one else knows but her....Max is tied 2 her indefinetly. Her plan is so diabolical....but not perfect. The dr has 2 stay quiet about the procedure...and Rod has 2 remain clueless regarding his unknowing donation

No time to comment much on last night's episode. I'm not on Team Lorena so I was pleased to see their little quarrel wherein she kept refusing to tell him where she got that picture of Sofía. Sure, it's about jealousy on her part. But it's perfectly reasonable of him to ask her since he's working on the case. She is 90% sure Sofía is alive, so her pretending she doesn't is irritating. I'm wondering if she's really Colombian. She has that sort of lilting accent where the end of the sentence rises that reminds me of Colombians.

Nett, MANY thanks for this excellent recap. I can't believe you did it on your phone. Every time I try typing on my phone, what comes out looks as if it was written by 100 monkeys typing at once!

I was impressed by Andrés's courage and his skill as a fighter. I agree with you that 66 is likely to try to harm him. That's why I found it a bit weird that Andrés warned him that if anything bad happened to anyone Andrés cared for, he'd take it out on 66. (The verb cobrar is getting a lot of action in this novela. I think I'm finally getting the hang of it. In this case, "I'll make you pay.")

Twice in this episode, Joel stops Sofía/Alejandra from rushing in to confront Ernesto and embrace Alo, telling her quite forcefully that if she confronts and accuses Ernesto now, she'll get nowhere and wind up punishing no one. They then sit in the car Sofía was driving and listen to the conversation inside the bakery. He even conveniently has with him two sets of headphones! But how do they listen in? Was there a bug planted in the bakery? My beanie is complaining that this is more than it can handle.

Hurray for Frida! As you say, she's a lot more savvy than she seemed at first. It's interesting that Johnny compliments her as a terrific negotiator, and Mark looks surprised.

I confess I couldn't figure out Jen's plan re Max and Rodrigo. Surely Eliza would have put Max's name on the birth certificate as the father, so why would he have to arrange for legal guardianship? And surely he couldn't/wouldn't try to get Eliza out of the picture. It doesn't make sense to me. And apparently Steve is in on this harebrained scheme?

seems like they are chopping the stories up into even smaller fragments before mixing them together, a short recap really helps to sort things out.

my favorite line, when Joel and Sofia are back from their operation when Richard shows, "your husband is home".

oh and Joel lied to Leno about sleeping with Sofia, I didn't like that she was withholding that she ran into Pastrana.

I too have been having trouble seeing Jen's plan, thanks, and Max seems to be out of the loop completely as far as doctors are concerned.

thanks Rod for telling everyone Charlie is dead, uff, I guess Rod missing his meds causes his blood pressure to drop and him to faint.

I don't know how savvy Frida is, I think her selling point is that if she gets the contract, she will do ANYTHING, and Johnny has sent along another batch of spicy ropa.

Julian and his english teacher Karina, so close Carmen came to showing Alo his pic.

I thought for sure Paula was setting up Sofia with the Ernesto/Alo meet at the bakery, but she seems to have backed off quite a bit, smiley Ernie always has his ducks in a row, and pats himself on the back.

good to see Sofia isn't off on her own, Joel was there, and how was it they were listening to what was being said.

Alo meets Alejandra, wow, this has got to be tough, and all I can think of is that Sofia pulls it off, but it later becomes another example of how Sofia has duped everyone.

 

Mi familia perfecta

this was pretty good, crazy family, Patas the oldest sure has a full plate, Patas' wife is a druggy loser from a redneck family, she plays him, Laura Flores, playing the mother has such a presence on screen, and another child, Julian, a younger more playful version of Joel from Lado, is always in the mix of things, Rosa, Serena from Sangre, with fake blond hair and blue eyes is in the hunt for a man, and the youngest daughter speaks perfect english with no accent.

Marisol of course is the star, showing up at a pro team tryout without even a uniform, is going up against another star who has a chauffeur bring her to practice.

Patas, who also lived his soccer dream, till his drunk dad broke his leg and his coach blew him off, knows perfectly well how living your dream doesn't pay.

Yes, Jennifer's plans don't make a lot of sense, unless you take into account that nearly everything she does is for herself. She isn't cluing Max into her donation plans because she has asked him not to divorce her until Charlie dies. To play at happy families for the child's sake. So, my guess is she'll try to get Rodrigo's donation (somehow???) and let Max think he's going to die to keep him around. She's already managed to get Rod not to tell his mother things.

That Google search I did for bone marrow transplants described a simple sitting there while your stem cells are harvested from your blood. But the web page also said that traditional bone marrow transplants are more often done with children. I don't really have time to look that up, but it would seem to involve Rodrigo's staying in the hospital, something hard to hide from Max and Eliza.

Nett: Ernesto will succeed in having Alondra turn on Eliza & Carmen! I wouldn't be shocked if he & Paula have Pastrana "take care" of both Carmen & Eliza down the road.

Novelera: Jennifer's got sinister plans regarding Rodrigo (poor kid has NO damn idea he's being played for a fool). Once she's done with him, she'll kick him out of the big Mansion.

Juanita: You might want to worry about Andres having an unfortunate end because of his recent confrontation with the 66 Thugs.

Steven is Max 2.0 & I NEVER warmed up to the guy from the get-go.

The whole Rodrigo and his citizenship plotline needs a Beenie. Wasn't Rodrigo, unlike Tomás and Katrina, born in Los Angeles so he would automatically be a USA citizen? Also, why isn't everyone (Steve & Max) clueing in on the fact that they aren't talking about citizenship/papers for Tomás and Katrina, just for Rodrigo. Let's get this plotline over and done with.

This novela was interesting and somewhat captivating at the beginning before they went off on all these stupid tangents.

Do you think Steve will play a significant role now that he has resurfaced? I don't think the writers would bring him back into the story if he was going to be insignificant.

The only narco-novela I've ever watched was Reina del Sur. And that was enough for me. So as long as it isn't a narco-novela and doesn't plan on going longer than one season, I'll be okay with that.

I'm running out of telenovelas to watch and I can't keep re-watching and re-watching some of those I've liked.

This TN had so much potential but Max's extreme cowardness and instant forgiveness along with Jen's harvesting plot line... are so ridiculous...this is TN land. Mustn't forget I'm watching for the Spanish.

So Jen's plan is working for now.... but she's got to keep Rod with her for awhile and keep him quiet about the hospital visit. How long will this farce last.

I'm guessing Ben doesn't have that much time left in this TN. He sealed it for me when he had the audacity to bad mouth Tom to Andreas. He tried to walk it back some but he put it out there. Yeah..Tom is not perfect but who brought him these problems... Ben. Tom should have left him hanging from the beginning but he didn't. Now he is guilty and he's getting deeper into a mess that Ben started.

So Steve 'splained' himself to Eliza and Max and will now step aside. I don't suppose he'll have another chance with Eliza but he will be needed to help her with her immigration problems...that are sure to come once Jen is certain Charlie is cured. And Tom's gang involvement won't help things so Eliza will need all the help she can get.

Why did Sofia go into a coughing fit? Did Paula put something in her drink or was it a coincidence? Don't see how team FBI get out of this one....unless they have a contact at the local DNA lab.

I agree that Lula Pineira, the human rights lady, is really looking for trouble, but I understand that she feels that Alex is a loose cannon (which he sort of is), and she feels that torture is never right, even if seems like the only way the cops can beat the narcos. Still, I wish she could somehow realize that Alex is a good guy, and cut him some slack.

Steve, I actually think the Mexican cops are almost always portrayed as incompetent in telenovelas, the ones in this show are doing better than most.

Interesting that Priamo put on Mozart's Requiem as background music to his shower, just before he was murdered.

Últimas Semanas! Which could still mean up to 6 or 7 more weeks. And even then, they'll probably have a cliffhanger, wait for season 2, since this is a "Super Series" :)
 

Lado 35 1/2

we are at Sofia's photo exhibition at the Mexican Consulate, Ernesto spins Alondra around to meet Alejandra, Sofia is ice, but a ton of bricks fall on Alo, they do the small talk, Alo asking Ernesto is this why you thought mom was alive? yep, Sofia is on with her presentation, while Alo wanders off alone.

in a fancy restaurant, Julian toys with Karina as she helps him with his english, he tells of his nightmares and asks about hers, yes, being deported and separated from her family by a wall (Karina is precious).

Andres talks with Tomas about the local gang, they are grabbing all the young guys, tells Tom it was a rookie that stabbed Max, Andres goes inside and here he comes the rookie, Bennie, he has a special delivery for Tomas to make, a bit of friction between these two, but at least you will be able to see your girl.

Sofia excuses herself, and follows Alo, Pastrana notices and Paula gives him the nod to follow, Sofia finds Alo in one of those basement storage rooms, curled up and crying, she enters, but doesn't crack, apologizes for looking like her mother, gets Alo to talk (like only a mother knows how), Pastrana is near so Alo locks the door, he passes, I didn't really get Sofia's story, a mother who made a mistake, but Alo says hers is different, she hates her mother, who is a murderer, child trafficker, and lied to them, they end up friends, Sofia giving Alo her phone number, call me if you ever need to talk.

Joel who is floating the party in disguise, hating every second Richard is close to Sofia, has slipped off too, Patrick parked on the street scrambles the consulate security cameras, allowing Joel to bug Ernesto's office, with 2 mics and a camera, but here comes Ernesto and Alo, he listens, Ernesto pours a whiskey, it lowers his blood pressure, Alo will have water, she suggests he drink tequila, it's more mexican, he likes tequila but, docs orders, (he really can be a likable guy), he asks Alo for help, he wants Eliza/Carmen to accept his offer, of course he gets their names wrong, and won't acknowledge they are Alo's family, Alo knows they won't accept it, but, Karina wants to go to college, ah, give me the details, I'll set it up (hmm, wasn't Max going to take care of that) and Alo gives Ernesto the usual, don't make promises you can't keep.

Rich hooks back up with Sofia, whining about her off seeing Alo, Paula wants a pic together, Rich takes the shot, Paula switches the wine glasses but Rich corrects her, whew.

Max is on Jen about why she wants to legally recognize Rod, well you know, Jen goes on with one of her talks that has no substance, Charlie and Rod are going over his bucket list when Jen appears, nap time for Charlie, say Rod, lets go shopping.

the exhibition party is over and goodbyes are being said, Sofia gets a cough, and Ernesto is right there offering her a handkerchief followed by Paula comforting her and backhanding the cough cloth to Ernesto who pockets it.

Tomas sneaks up on Fri, Mark is not there, he wants to leave, go to New York, start anew, a lot of opportunities there, Fri hedges, she's got a deal, this is her big chance, she'll get lots of money, settle his problems with 66, but Mark is a dealer too, Tom says, Fri says sometimes you have to do what you don't want too, so your dreams will come true, Tomas counters with, he just doesn't want her dreams to end bad.

Carmen prompts Eliza to spill on what is bugging her, she saw that Max spent the night with Jen and the boys, playing happy family.

Rod is nervous at the hospital, Jen reminds him how he wants to help Charlie, we'll go shopping afterward, they just want to take some blood, and they do, Jen keeping him focused on her, LOOK at me, will I have to give my organs?, Rod asks.

 

Lado 35 2/2

Joel is complaining to Patrick that Rich is taking advantage of the situation, as he and Sofia arrive with the news, they have a DNA sample.

Lore gets back home, lingerie shopping ??, pulls out Pastrana's contact card, and toys with it, Julio Estevez I think is the name on it.

Steve has popped in to explain to Eliza, she's hot, why did you hide all this from me?, simple, he tells her that for the last ten years, she has been the love of his life, wow, I never forgot the angel that looked over me,

but then I discovered you were Max's wife, that you were getting back together, the only thing to do now is to step aside, (talk about sincere)

Andy corners Ben, it was you, and gives him a gang lecture, Bennie lets it slip that Tomas is no saint.

Fri warms up Johnny wearing some of his gifts, he flashes the contract, she bulks and calls Tom, but no answer, looks like they are on.

Steve gives Eliza a warm peck on the cheek as he leaves, and runs into Max, who wants to know why he has been lied to, your Eliza and my Eliza are the same?, you love her now, but Steve won't answer that one, (lawyer you know)

66 meets Tomas straggling home, wants to see some love from his sunshine, tells him to control Andy, so he doesn't end up dead.

our good guys have assembled around the radio to listen in on the bad guys, Ernesto confirms they have the DNA, but what do they compare it to, did Paula suggest exhuming the body, what?, when Ernesto spots the glass Alo was drinking out of, yep.

 

"LADO":

Deb: Ernesto, Paula & Co., have Sofia right where they want her! The cough she got is the beginning of blowing Sofia's cover.

1.) Tomas will be lucky to go to prison!

2.) Frida still is NOT long for this world!

Thanks so much, deb, for a fine recap. I love your little asides; such as, "Wasn't Max supposed to take care of Karina's education?"

Sometimes the lack of congruity in telenovelas is almost endearing. I imagine a room, late at night, with a harried writer and some assistants trying to stay a day ahead of the actors. They're not getting much sleep and perhaps rack their brains trying to remember what they wrote 2 weeks ago, some plot point that now eludes them.

While watching J-Low telling Rodrigo to keep watching her while his blood was being drawn, I was thinking that her avid facial expression was like one of those 1960's era Brides of Dracula.

I'm thinking that Gabriel Porras must really love the scenes where he gets to play Good Daddy and/or Good Politico. He's really good at them.

Johnny's promises to Frida were completely over the top. He was talking about the Hollywood Bowl, Madison Square Garden, etc. It's slightly possible she could be inserted as one of several opening acts to an established star, but he didn't seem to be saying that. She's an idiot if she thinks she's going to open her career in a tour featuring those venues.

I concur that Steve's role is likely going to be as Eliza's savior when her undocumented status inevitably becomes an issue. I just don't see him as the love interest. Nor do I see her ending up with Max. Telenovelas are big on retribution. And what he did 10 years ago, to me at least, appears to disqualify him as ending up with a protagonist. I'm not as mad at him as some of the rest of you. He's very endearing as a father.

What I'm really looking forward to is the bad end 66 will doubtless make. Don't know if it will be prison or death, but the guy is rotten to the core.

I am enjoying this novela and never find it boring, as some of you appear to do. I like several different plots at the same time: What will happen with Julián and Karina? How quickly will Frida have to face what a mistake she's made? Will Eliza really end up with Andrés? Will I get to see Paula have a really, really bad end? When will Sofía get her just reward for the awful things that have happened to her?

Novelera: I see 66 going down in violent deadly end, taking several people down with him (likely Benny) & possibly Tomas (since he's still doing drug dealing.

I see Julian going to PRISON because he's got sinister plans regarding Karina. Hell, if Cummings spots her, it's SWEET PICKINGS. Cummings reminds me of the late Dominican Republic Dictator Rafael Trujillo, who feasted on raping young underage girls.

Frida will have to face the music sooner or later. I doubt she'll be with us before the Gran Final with all the stupid decisions she's making.

On Paula: I see her having a BIGLY anvil & I see her end being deadly along with Ernesto, Pastrana & their cronies.

On Sofia: I only see her getting the justice she needs in the final episode with her name & reputation cleared.

Max: his Karma is coming sooner or later. Jennifer has more sinister plans for Rodrigo (Poor Kid).

Steve, I love how you like to "bump" characters off. You are kinda the opposite of Carlos who likes to love the antagonists. If you send me your votes for "gone" characters, I'll tally them (and other's votes) to see what happens towards the end.

I'm not sure what everyone still thinks about who are spies.

And you are right about Trujillo, my Dominican husband tells me the horror stories of Trujillo when he was dictator. Mr. Pirate (my new Caray Name for him) was sent off to Canadian and USA boarding schools, and then Colleges, so his parents didn't have to worry about him joining the Guerrillas. Coincidentally, we also lived through the Olivar North / Sandinista War in Nicaragua.

I was very nervous when Pastrana followed Sofía downstairs. And yes, Alo had the presence of mind to lock the door when she heard footsteps, but still, Pastrana could still look through the grating near the top (as Sofía had done). He did look, but fortunately Sofía and Alo were sitting down and perhaps bending just a bit, so he couldn't see them. But, of course, dangers lurk everywhere, as the rest of the episode shows.

The story Sofía/Alejandra tells Alo, quite probably made up on the spur of the moment, is that she (Alejandra) grew up hating her mother and believed that she was guilty of all kinds of terrible things. She moved far away so she wouldn't have to be near her mother. Years later, she learned that her mother was very ill and wanted to see her. Reluctantly, she went, and she learned that the bad things she had believed about her mother were not true, and I think she said they reconciled before her mother died. Alo tells her that her situation is just the opposite. She grew up adoring her mother, only to learn that her mother was a criminal, an assassin who was involved in human trafficking. It's then that Alejandra gives Alo her phone number in case she ever wants to get in touch with her. (All I could think of was that her DNA was very likely on the paper she handed to Alo. I also wondered who would answer the phone if Alo did call.)

deb, you say that Jen wants to legally recognize Rod. I thought she wanted Max to do something (that I never understood) about Rod. Surely there's no way that Jen can legally recognize him, is there?

I hated the scene in the hospital where Jen sneakily brought Rod. What a perra!

And she's apparently not the only perra. When Lorena considers giving Pastrana a call, she definitely earns the perra title as well, IMHO. Up til then, though I didn't like Lorena, I had a little sympathy for her. ¡No mas!

Lorena is probably the most dangerous character, other than Pastrana.

Will Paula be able to get Sofia's DNA from the handkerchief? Did anyone see if Sofia maybe made a switch?

novelera, you made some great points in your comment about the episode. I especially liked your remarks about Frida. You rightly point out that "Johnny's promises to Frida were completely over the top....She's an idiot if she thinks she's going to open her career in a tour featuring those venues." Alas, apparently she IS an idiot. I recall her telling Tomás that with her first paycheck, she's going to buy a large, beautiful house AND pay off 66 so he'll release Tomás from having to continue with the deliveries. Yeah, sure. (I think there was a third thing as well, but I don't remember what it was).

Like you, I'm not as angry at Max as some of the other commenters have been. In addition to the fact that he's good with his kids, I am convinced by the passion that he and Eliza have for each other. However, also like you, I don't think Eliza will wind up with him. In addition to the "I'd give my life" statement he makes several times, he's simply too damned ineffectual. And though I may not be as angry as some others are, I still do feel that his deserting Eliza for 10 years disqualifies him for "happily ever after."

and I really don't have it together on Jen's plan, I'm assuming she is finagling herself into a position to be able to make the bone marrow transplant happen first, and secondly to do it without anyone knowing, but I don't know the legalese, I suppose being Rod's stepmom carries some weight but she would need to be recognized as such, also I figured they would go with the less invasive procedure but last night they were talking about a transplant.

novelera, I find the making of a novela fascinating, compared to a 2 hour american movie, but if you consider there must be multiple scenarios discussed by multiple writers for each event, and then the director takes the script and creates his version of the story in film, then the editors cut and paste for their take on it, (especially as it's being written as it is being filmed) it's a wonder that a writer would ever know any of the details that made the final cut as shown.

The issue with rod is not so much his legal status....but who has legal rights over him. Whoever has those rights can sign him up to donate. Jen is pushing for it so she can harvest what she needs without anyone knowing.

Steve, the corrupt prosecutor was actually killed by the Oscuros. Nemesio is upset because the prosecutor was the Mil Cumbres man on the inside, and the best chance to get Roxie out of jail.

Silvia has outsmarted Pharisees and tapped into some of his messages. They know someone's coming to the airport tonight from Zurich. Alex goes with Puenzo, they catch a guy with diamonds! This is Mil Cumbres' new method of getting money, remember Roxie suggested it.

Alex is also getting closer to solving the murder of an American agent in the desert. We know it was done by the Mil Cumbres. Puenzo sees what Alex is doing, but of course he has to stay quiet.

Roxie begs Madre to stop the punishment of Tilapia, who was first in the hole, then worked like a slave by Bowser. Madre agrees, but on the condition that Roxie and Tilapia can't even talk to each other from now on. We'll see about that.
