Papá a toda madre Wed. 5/16/18 Capítulo 83: Marking Time--OR--Flor Seizes the Day.

María is stuck in the car with Fabián as he flees from the police. Fearing for their lives, she begs him to stop. He continues speeding on and ends up getting broadsided by a police vehicle on the driver side. Mauricio jumps out of the unmarked car and runs to help María. She and Fabián both have blood on their faces and are unconsicous.

Back with Renée, Ariel comments that she looks very nervous. She says that she is just a little tired when her phone rings. It is Mauricio who tells her about the accident. Mauricio asks Renée not to say anything to Anifer yet. He will call when he gets some news.

In the meantime, Ariel is trying to get Anifer to help him get Renée to be his novia. Anifer is not too sure she wants to help him out.

At the hospital, Mauricio is impatient wanting to know how María is. Rodrigo sees the doctor who tells them that the two victims are still being cared for and one of them is in very grave condition. Mauricio tries to find out which patient exactly that is, but the doctor has no other information for him at this time.

At the cul-de-sac, Renée stops Jorge who is going over to Mauricio's to get some licensing papers signed. She tells him that he is not home and what happened.

All is hugs and kisses at Nerón's house. Flor has just arrived home. She is excited and happy. Her class was just incredible and the two hours went by like nothing. Nerón wants to know what she learned as in styling hair of doing nails with acrylics. Flor is into something totally different. She misunderstood when she signed up. She is in an "aesthetics" class. It is a philosophy class. He asks what she knows about that. She knows nothing but she is there to learn. He might want to learn something himself, too, about these kinds of things. She asks him if he knows who Sócrates was since he did name his son after him. It is clear that Nerón has no idea. Flor explains that he was a Greek philosopher. She then tells him that Cicero was a Roman philosopher. Nerón says he gave his sons those names because he liked them. Why is she going to study this? Flor cannot see why not because she wants to become more refined, cultured and a better person. She wants to excel!!!!

Just as Jorge gets home, Valentina confronts him in front of her mother asking if Dulce s going or staying. Dulce takes that as an affront and does not know why Valentina would not want her to stay in her own home. Dulce says she explained everything to them and apologized. What more does she want? Valentina looks to her father for an answer but he tells her that he has no time to discuss it right now because María and Fabián had an accident and were admitted to the hospital. He tells them that he is going to drop off some things that Mauricio needs. Valentina is left frowning and being led by Dulce to a seat in the living room where she asks Valentina why she has such an aggressive attitude with her and why she is so resentful. Valentina wonders why she really needs to ask. Dulce tries to explain that she only came back to regain her children's love. Her children are the most important things in her life. Valentina reminds her that she abandoned them. Why weren't they important then but are now? Dulce says it is because she found out that something unforgivable was about to happen to Valentina at the hands of a damned loser. Valentina asks how she found out. Dulce says that is the least important thing at the moment but she knew that she had to protect her because she is at such a vulnerable age in this time of the social networks and with so much going on in the world. Valentina relents for a second and confesses to her mother how horrible it all was. The two hug.

Renée tells Ariel that they are not going to say anything about what happened to Anifer because they do not know María's condition is. In the meantime, Renée is staying put. Anifer has overheard them talking very quietly about "Ani's mother" and asks if something happened to her mother. Renée says just because they were talking about them doesn't mean a thing.

At the hospital, the doctor tells Mauricio, Jorge, Nerón and Toño that María is going to be okay. Her wounds are not very serious but she is in a state of shock. For that reason he wants her to stay for a few days in the hospital so she can recuperate and be under observation. Mauricio calls María a warrior and knows that her daughter will be very happy. The doctor continues telling them that Fabián is in very serious condition and unfortunately has fallen into a coma.

Renée is talking with Anifer on the couch trying to convince her that her mother is okay. Anifer is afraid that something bad happened to her and she won't see her again for a long time. She wants to go find her now. Renée suggests that she go play with the Barrientos kids.

At Jorge's, Samuel is defending his mother to Lili and Baldo saying that Dulce is good people that never treated her own children badly. The problem is that Dulce does not know Lili and Baldo and has no idea of how to get close to them. He hopes that when they get to know her, they will fin out she is cool. They do not seem convinced but Bsldo hopes so. Baldo and Samuel head to the living room to play video games and Lili gets a phone call from Pablo. We see he is an ICE facility. He tells her that he is returning to Mexico. No, he did not find his father. He hangs up.

At Toño's house, his mother Esperanza is watching the kids. Ernesto wonders where his father is. She tells them that he is taking care of adult things as Tania hangs all over her. Ernesto then wants to know if she is always going to be there to take care of them in the afternoons. That hits a nerve with Esperanza and she ends up informing them that she never asked to come live with them to be a babysitter so complaints are the last thing things she wants to hear. Esperanza catches herself, realizes what she has just said and apologizes. She tells them they are not responsible for how she is feeling. She explains to them that their father is not there because he went to the hospital to see about a friend who had a car accident. The doorbell rings and it is Renée and Anifer. She has brought Anifer over to play with the kids. In no time at all, she hears about a car accident from Ernesto. The person who got hurt is in bad shape. Anifer goes into a panic wondering if it is her mother.

Mauricio goes to visit Fabián in his room. Fabián has on a neck brace and is on oxygen. Mauricio talks to him. Fabián still has a lot of explaining to do. He asks what happened to him. How did he end up like this? Mauricio shakes his head and continues. Everyone thinks Fabián is half crazy even him. So many things have happened that he does not even know who Fabián is anymore. The old Fabián was so different from the one who is there now. He does not know if the present Fabián is better or worse but he is different. He was his playmate, his best friend, his brother. He hopes that someday he can . . . . (be those things again)

Anifer says she was afraid that something bad happened to her mother and how horrible that nobody could tell her where she is. Renée tells her that she did not want to tell her anything until they found out exactly what happened. She continues telling a crying Anifer that her father just called a short time ago and her mother is better and as soon as he can see her, he will call again. Anifer wants to see her, too, and asks Renée to take her to the hospital. Renée explains that hospitals are not for children. There are infections in the air that can make children ill very quickly. That is why they do not allow children under the age of twelve to visit. Anifer wants to just say she is twelve so she can go. Renée hugs her. Renée says what they can do is wait for more information. Esperanza suggests that she play with the other children and they will keep her informed if Mauricio or Toño calls. Esperanza tells her it is not going to do anybody any good if she gets all upset. It is better to play because then time will go a lot faster. Tania leasds her over to play with the boys.

At Jorge's, a sad Valentina and an enthralled Samuel are still with their mother. Samuel is explaining that María is Anifer's mother and that Anifer is Mauricio's daughter. Dulce remarks that she always thought the cul-de-sac was such a boring place and that nothing ever happened. Valentina adds that if she had not left, she would not have missed it all. Dulce is sad to see her start up again with all of her resentment. She tries to assure her that she has changed. Samuel gets on Valentina's case complaining that lately Valentina has been just unbearable. Their mother is back so she just needs to tone it down already. Valentina mentions Kika going out with her father and ow well she gets along with her. Samuel does not see Kika as one of them. She reminds Samuel how their mother didn't call them all of that time. Their mother left them. Their mother abandoned them. Dulce asks them not to argue about her. She realizes the fact that she left did affect them. She is apologizing. What else can she do. Samuel grabs Dulce's hand and tells her how much he loves her. Dulce asks them both to allow her to get back all of the lost time. She will work as hard as she can so that they forgive her. She wants Valentina to get rid of all of that bitterness because she is only hurting herself.

At her hotel suite, Kika is telling her sister Charytín that she will not be throwing any tantrums at the present time. Something very serious is going on and she is afraid of losing her beautiful Jorge. He is the love of her life. Her sister doesn't understand and is afraid that Jorge is just weak enough to fall into his wife's trap. She tells Kika not to give up and to fight for Jorge. Kika is worried because he has not been responding to her messages. There is knock at the door and it is Jorge. Charytín leaves them alone. He tells Kika tht ne needed to see her. A fiery Kika tells him that before he continues, she wants to know how it is possible that he and Dulce are still married. Aren't they divorced?

At work, Toño is informing Verónica about Fabián. They are standing closely and Toño has his hands on her arms. They do not know if Fabián is going to recuperate and even if he does if he will have all of his faculties. There is a knock on the door and right before Bustamante comes in they jump apart. Bustamante remarks he hasn't seen Ton1o around much. After Toño makes some lame remarks about why the folder he is reading is upside down, he tells Bustamante about how one of his children's parents had a car accident. Bustamante says that they both just have to let him know what is going on. Verónica says that she gave Toño permission to leave. He just wanted to support his neighbors because he is such a generous man and also extremely hardworking, a real friend to his friends. Bustamante readily understands and remarks how well Verónica his boss supports him. Rather than boss and assistant,it seems like they have been friends their whole lives. It turns out that Bustamante has come by to tell Toño that he is under consideration to head up the new department. Toño is all excited as Bustamante tells him that he will have to go through all sorts of tests and interviews like before. Verónica is just beaming at the good news. After Bustamante leaves they hug each other but are lucky enough to have separated right as Bustamante opens the door again to congratulate him being in the running for the new department head. They lock the door before the next hug and kiss.

Jorge comes clean with Kika. Dulce never signed the divorce papers. He made a big mistake even though he has always tried to do things the right way. He is asking her to give him time to find a solution so she can calm down. Kika tells him she is not calm with Dulce sleeping under the same roof as he does. She understands why he cannot run her out but, of course, but he could stay with her in her suite as he resolves this issue . . . Jorge cannot leave his children especially the twins with Dulce. He wants her to give him a chance to find a solution. Kika wants to know what that would be and asks if they should poison her? Jorge is thinking about leaving the house, the past and the lies to Dulce and just moving his family to a new home. He goes to hug Kika who says that the commandment that can really get a person upset is the one about not lying.

Referring to the accident, Renée is talking to Rafael and Rodrigo being philosophical saying that nobody is ever ready for something like that to hit them. Everything changes in an instant. Rafael continues that thought considering first Fabián being a kidnapper a few hours ago and now being all alone in a coma. Rafael asks Rodolfo about Fabián being under arrest and the charges he could be facing. Rodrigo says the legal situation is vey complicated. He mentions speeding, being responsible for María's injuries, property damage and then if María decides to file a complaint against him for having paid ti have her her jailed in Guatemala, well, that is something he won't get out of very easily. Renée asks if they found the computer that María had because it belonged to Falcón and had all sorts of information on it that could help María and Mauricio. Rodrigo says it must be with Fabián's personal items and he will look into it.

Mauricio stops by to see María who asks immediately about Anifer. Mauricio says she is not there but he left her behind with Renée. María is just concerned that Anifer not suffer because she is in the hospital. Mauricio says that is his job and she will never suffer in her life if he can help it. María asks about Fabián. Is he in jail? He tells her he is still in really bad shape in a coma that may be permanent.

Jorge informs Dulce that he is not going to argue about the house with her. He is going to find another for him and his children while the divorce is being processed. A persistent Dulce asks what he want her to do. She asked, she begged for another chance. She even pulls out the family card trying to make him feel guilty. She throws Yuriria and the twins in his face. Jorge tells her not to talk about Yuriria since she is dead. As for her, she does not have to do anything. Dulce just needs to understand that he just does not love her anymore. Dulce sees herself just as a wife who wants to get back what is hers. Isn't that her right? Jorge tells her it is way too late for that. She tells him not to be selfish. Jorge reminds her that he asked her not to be selfish for all of the same reasons before she decided to leave. She blames it all on that "Peruvian". Jorge corrects her that Kika is Venezuelan and that he loves her. He asks her that they all be civilized through this process they are going through. She next tries to physically throw herself at him wanting to remind him of the "woman" she is. Jorge is physically taken aback and rejects her physical overtures.

Mauricio is still with María and admits having mixed feeling about Fabián because they were so close as kids and into adolescence. He feels like crying for the imbecile. Renée stops by. María hurts all over but more from the fear than any actual damage. The discussion centers around if Anifer should visit or not since María will be out in a couple of days. They decide to do a video chat with Anifer. Renée leaves the two of them "together." It is apparent she does not know that they are no longer a couple.

Jorge tells Dulce he will not be falling into temptation. He wants to make it clear that he loves Kika. Dulce has not given up and throws the sin of adultery in his face since they are still married in the eyes of the church. Jorge says she committed that sin already as well as he. He is clear about what he wants and that is Kika. Well, Dulce is going to go to church to confess and will be absolved of her sins and that is what counts. She reminds Jorge of the "until death us do part" wedding vow. He turns and leaves the room.

Anifer, who is with Rafael and Rodrigo, has a good video chat with her mother where her fears are alleviated. She still wants to come and see her but María tells her she can come and pick her up when she is ready to come home. Anifer concludes that since nobody wants to take her, what else can she do?

Renée and Ariel are having coffee. She explains to Ariel what a ball of confusion her brain is with Fabián unconscious and not being able to ask him about don Noél. Ariel thinks it is natural that she would be worried about don Noél even though she has not proven him to be her father. She fears he is being kept locked up somewhere being mistreated with nothing to eat. So many things could happen to an old man and only Fabián knows where he is. Ariel remarks that the majority chlldren in her situation just wouldn't care. Well, she is just afraid that he is in danger. Ariel wonders out loud if there might be any room for him in that enormous heart she has. Ariel decides it is time to get the check much to Renée's relief. She smiles.

At work, Verónica and Toño are both dressed in pink. She gives him a rosary to use like a prop in his interview. She then explains how to drop a church going reference here and there. She says he could even do the sign of the cross. He wonders if the short form would be okay. Of course, Verónica wants him to look like a good Catholic, an incredible father . . . He has a great sense of humor and is the best candidate for the job. He is just perfect. She kisses him as he says if it is God's wish . . . The both chuckle how he dropped that expression in. Toño is just about to close the blinds so she can give him the proper send off when his secretary appears on the window and then in the office. The secretary has come to inform Toño that Mr. Bustamante is waiting for him. Verónica shakes his hand and wishes him a lot of good luck. He thanks her for all of the support she has given him. The secretary gives Toño a never ending hug talking about how much she is going to miss him. Verónica and Toño can only laugh.

At Florvidente's house, Lili is filling her in about Dulce coming back. Florvidente never got along well with her. Lili says that she had a bad enough time with Jorge but he is her father, but now with Dulce . . . Florvidente tells her that she shouldn't be just sitting around the house for nine months waiting and doing nothing. She should finish her high school degree Lili agrees but she isn't very motivated and doesn't know what to do. Florvidente says she is not there to scold her but she wants to give her some advice as a friend: don't waste time. Sometimes when you are still young you think that your life is going to go on forever and you have all the time in the world but then something happens and you realize that time and the things you wanted to do have passed you by. She tells Lili not to be stupid. She should give it her all. Florvidente leaves the room as there is a knock at the door. It is Pablo.

Toño is being entertaining in his interview with Bustamante and a colleague. The subject has just shifted from technology to ethics. Toño starts explaining how important ethics have been in his development as a person, as the father of his family and as a loyal employee while he visibly plays with the rosary in his hands. The colleague says it is one thing to repeat things like a parrot and another to actually apply them in life. Ton1o starts to talk about his wife "Vero" . . . Bustamante asks if his wife is not named "Renée". Jorge does some tap dancing around about "Renée the flexible one" and sees it just as a case of confusion like when kids go to school and call the teacher "mom" and when they are at home call their mom by their teacher's name. They all chuckle and nod. He goes on about his saintly wife being just awesome. Ethics, his wife and he are inseparable. The colleague says he must be a good person. The colleague next refers to crooked ways of doing business in the professional world like favoritism, etc. Yes, Jorge understands what goes on and he sees that it as being terrible just the absolute worst. Bustamante warns him about having an important job with people working under him. That is enough to corrupt some people. They just cannot handle the power. Toño make a point that that certainly it is not him because he is goal driven based on the merits only and could not be affected by favors, etc. He ends saying: Give unto Caesar what is Caesar's and as for God . . . here's hoping it goes well or what is God's is God's and anything left over should be Caesar's or the boss' . . . they get it, right?

Jorge whispers with Mauricio about Fabián and how now he cannot do anything to stand in their way. He says the ways of God are "inscrutable." Mauricio gets hung up on that word saying nobody uses that strange word. Jorge also reports on two issues about the cooperative. The first is the bracelet that still does not have enough capital to enter production and the second is the papá-mamá doll which is dependent on the Chinese license. The problem there is that it is in Chinese. Jorge just laughs. Mauricio does not get it. Finally, Mauricio gets a call from an unknown number and guesses it must be from one of "those" banks who wants to offer him another credit card but he answers anyway. It is a call from another toy company that saw them at the Logatoys event. They want to talk to them because they like what they saw. They set an appointment to see them. Mauricio remarks how ironic this is because it is all happening because of Fabián who now cannot ruin it for them. Jorge adds that the ways of the Lord are inscrutable.

Pablo is telling Florvidente, and Lili all about his time in the USA. Pablo talks about being in Tucson and going to Los Angeles. He searched and searched but never found his father. Not knowing that Pablo really did find his father without knowing it, Florvidente sees this as a sign that her powers went with her chemotherapy and she is no longer "Florvidente." Pablo tells them about how he was apprehended by ICE and deposited on the Mexican side of the border. Flor has heard how they treat the undocumented really badly like dogs. No, Pablo will not be returning to look for his father in the USA. Flor asks what his plan is. Pablo says to Lili that she has to agree to whatever the paln is going to be. Lili is happy with whatever he wants to do. Flor is upset and tells them their heads are in the clouds and that they have to look at reality and plan what they want to do. One does not live on love alone, you still have to pay the bills, etc. They look at her like she has three heads and she tells them they are still young and that will help them a lot. Pablo has been thinking about that a lot and he needs to get a job ASAP. Flor also reminds him about getting his high school degree because these days you cannot get any kind of job without it. Pablo has thought about that, too. Before anything else, he wants to talk to Lili's father. Lili just sighs. Flor knocks her head, knocks on wood, etc., to ward off the bad luck.

At the hospital, Renée is being led into Fabián's room. The doctor tells her that there is no problem visiting Fabián since she is registered as his relative. The doctor tells her they do not know if Fabián will come out of the coma and if he does, what state he might be in. His spinal column also was injured severely so he might not be able to walk. He also could end up with a blood clot and that is very dangerous. Renée is given a plastic bag with Fabián's personal effects from the nurse. Renée is left alone with Fabián and the bag. She finds the laptop and Fabian's house keys.

At Jorge's, Lili and Pablo are talking with him. Pablo says he did not return because he wants to be responsible for Lili and the child. Lili adds that Pablo wants them to live together as a family. Dulce is listening from the hall. Pablo says that all sounds very nice but he wants them to be realistic. Where are they going to live? In a roof top room? How are they going to support themselves? Pablo is going to work hard like he did before he left. Lili tells him not to worry because they will not be living in his house. Jorge says that is not the problem. They have to be realistic about their situation and give it time. For right now, Lili can stay living at home with her family and when things naturally proceed to marriage, then she can leave. Pablo asks him about living together. Jorge doesn't know what to say and asks if at least they are going to baptize the baby. Dulce makes her appearance to undermine what Jorge has said even though Lili is nobody to her. She puts her hands on Jorge's shoulder which bothers him and she proceeds to tell him that today young people live together before getting married. Jorge shakes himself free and simply states that his daughter is going no where until she is eighteen. Lili says she is almost eighteen. Well,"almost" does not do it for Jorge. She will be home until she is eighteen. Jorge proclaims he is tired of talking about it and leaves.

Renée has taken Ariel over to Fabián's and they are in the work room. He asks what is he supposed to be looking for. Anything that might be a clue to where don Noél might be is her answer. Anything could end up being useful. They scan through papers and items around the room. Renée notices how strange it is that there are no family photos of don Noél, his wife or of Fabián. Ariel finds some papera that are handwritten. Could it be a diary? Renée does not know if they were written by Fabián or by don Noél but she is going to take them. She then finds don Noél's death certificate and photos and articles about the fire at Logatoys.

It turns out that Fabián is keeping don Noél (AKA "Mr. Gutiérrez") drugged in a private hospital somewhere. Don Noél tries to turn down yet another dose of sedatives from a smiling nurse but without success.

My favorite scene: Flor telling Nerón about wanting to learn new things and wanting to excel. No grass growing under her feet! I am just sorry that the viewer knows she really was and still is Florvidente but she will never know unless she has more vidente experiences.

More later.

Jarifa: Looks like Dulce will do almost everything, even sinister to keep Jorge.

Jaria, another amazing summary.

"At Jorge's, a sad Valentina and an enthralled Samuel are still with their mother" and "a never ending hug" were excellent.

Dunce is making progress. Sadly. "Valentina relents for a second and confesses to her mother how horrible it all was. The two hug". And of course Sam is reveling in his mother's presence.

"Flor is into something totally different. She misunderstood when she signed up. She is in an "aesthetics" class". Love it. How can anyone not like this woman? Loved the wig - similar to Uma Thurman's in Pulp Fiction.

Jarifa, Flor has an indomintable spirit, doesn't she? While I think she always embraced life, her health crisis made her appreciate it even more and has sparked her enthusiasm and desire to do more and to be more. She is a treasure.

"...He was his playmate, his best friend, his brother. He hopes that someday he can . . . . (be those things again)". Mau's lament was confusing and he now knows Fabian was never any of those things. He wishes for something he never had.

Kika's being very understanding while trying to hold her ground. Dulce understands that while her children's hearts have quickly softened, Jorge isn't going to fold quite so easily. I hope she isn't going to wait until he's had too much to drink pull the old crawl into his bed making him think they slept together. She strikes me as not a gracious loser.

I'm glad Maria will be all right but still wonder how all this is going to pan out.

Jarifa, thank you for your wise words and careful detail.

Sleep well all.

Diana

Thank you, Jarifa, for that great recap. I loved the title.

Dulce borrow Jorge's glasses and take a good look at Kiki. Jorge is not leaving that.

Let's wrap this show up and head off to Beauty and the Beast.

See you all later.yawn.

Jarifa ! Thank You. Looks at her like she has three heads had me laughing. I was wondering where that third one came from. The new and improved Flor sounds to be wearing a Magistrate's wig rather than those hoochie things from Frederick's of Hollywood.

You can really see the lawyer in Dunce coming out now. She doesn't miss a beat, and is so adept at turning your own words on you. In many years I have not EVER had positive experiences concerning lawyers and Dunce epitomizes what I have seen. She walks out a Hoe and walks back in a Bible thumper? Puleeeeeeease.

Typical: "She wants Valentina to get rid of all of that bitterness because she is only hurting herself." OH REALLY?
Since cows friggin fly. In spite of the fact she looks to be built for speed, I hate her as much as Love Bugs.

She discovers facts only when those will benefit her case. I just wish the (NOT HER, she gave them up) kids could know it was Dunce's bed mate who tried to kidnap Val to sell her as a sex slave.

Renee had on yet another fluorescent colored pleather jacket, peacock blue. She has not gotten a lot of woofs lately, but always seems to have a puppy dog following her around, first Loopey, now the mermaid kid.

Coffee time

"Dulce borrow Jorge's glasses and take a good look at Kiki. Jorge is not leaving that. "

The BEST And coming from a chick makes it even better. Too funny Susy.

Oops, stale bird. Sorry. :-)

F!or has turned into a walking , talking PSA....fight\,learn\,excel\,flip your lid....not bad advice for everyone.

Another gray, rainy day here...

PSA#37... kids under age 12 cannot visit patients in the hospital

Good morning Jarifa. I loved the title too and for once loved one of the PSA's...

"She tells them they are not responsible for how she is feeling."

As much as possible, when my first born was little we'd do a "Let's talk about our day" before bedtime. Often with me explaining that I'd been cranky because of something else going on in my life, nothing to do with her. But basically we'd go back over everything and try and sort it out and clean it up before she went to sleep. My mom was often irritable and I always worried it was something to do with me. Of course sometimes it probably was!

Well, the action seems to be accelerating here in ultimas semanas and we're already looking forward to the next one. These telenovelas are like love affairs. We start out all excited and loving everything about it, and as time goes on, the delight fades and then we're just shuffling our feet waiting for it to end.

Oh well...on to the next illusion!

Thanks Jarifa. You and the Patio never disappoint.

I laughed when I saw that PSA Susanlynn. Actually it's not to protect the kids from hospital germs, it's to protect the vulnerable patients from the kids' germs. Remember when we had non-stop colds because our young school-age kids brought home every germ and then some (plus chicken pox, strep throat and head lice).

Now that Fakian's 'Pause' button was inadvertently pressed in his snazzy yellow car, what are we going to do about him?

And how did Renee get it out into the etherworld that she is Fabian's next of kin? Did I doze off in that episode with the DNA and Noel signing on as her official Daddy, etc. etc. etc. etc. Oh well, you snooze you lose. Onward, It is fortunate that all that did happen whether I saw it or not, as Renee and Loopey 2 got the laptop and keys to the mansion.

Is resourceful old codger Noel going to pretend to take his pills and hide them under his tongue like Rover and Fido do? Then escape to find his son in a hospital bed pooping all over himself, and in a fit of remorse go all out to make things right with Renee and Mau with Logatoys before he croaks from a side effect of the sedatives?

Let me see, (really), if I remember right Kika is a scrapper, remember when she jumped someone and Mauricio acted like he was at a Jello Wrestling match in a whorehouse? Do we get to see her whip up on Dunce? I'll pay.

JudyB two things you don't run out of around here: Milk, and head lice shampoo with that !OUCH! little microscopic toothed comb. Looong hair is impossible.

Thank you for your recap, Jarifa!

"Her sister doesn't understand and is afraid that Jorge is just weak enough to fall into his wife's trap". ---me, too.

Dulce is just disgusting, thinking she can waltz right back into her own life with a few "I'm sorry"s and going to confession. Um, yeah, gimme a break. Stay the course, Jorge!

The youknowwhat will hit the fan when Kika's lie is revealed to Jorge.

So Rachel from credit card services makes telemarketing calls down in Mexico, too! Gah. That'll teach Mau to answer the phone from unidentifiable callers, like the rest of us in the favela ... er ... privada.

Why does Flor have bruises on both her upper arms?

I'm not convinced Noel swallowed those pills.

"Dulce borrow Jorge's glasses and take a good look at Kiki. Jorge is not leaving that. " --- LOL!!! and so true.

"Actually it's not to protect the kids from hospital germs, it's to protect the vulnerable patients from the kids' germs." Kids are walking Petri dishes. I've caught my share of crud from our sweet little granddaughter. Our dog is always sniffing her up one side and down the other, looking for old food smears to lick off her. Ugh.... 😜

Kirby - ITA, I was wondering why Renee was given Fab's personal effects. She must have told them she's family and they believed her.

doris, I am thinking Flor’s bruises are side effects from her treatment.

The excrement will hit the atmospheric evacuator.

Yaaa and Mule Headed Jorge will never be able to understand that it was purely out of Luuuurve and nothing more.

Dulce is just maddening. It is like conveniently delusional.

Like when there is an auto accident and the participant has a broken arm, leg, and sucking chest wound. And he says, "Oh, I'm OK, just give me a minute to catch my breath."

Haven't seen this episode or the bruises on Flor's arm, but in real life when mysterious bruises start reappearing, that means the leukemia is "back". It was my friend's first clue that she was no longer out of remission. Hope that this is not going to be the story trajectory in this one.

JudyB - oh noes! Everyone I know is that has gone thru chemo needs a few months to get their energy back.. I figured if Flor is going back to school, chemo related bruising should have healed by now. Just a guess.

JudyB, another oh, no! from me. We have had enough drama already and plenty of unresolved drama before it wraps up.

Kirby, “stale bird” . Excellent!

Steve, Dulce is who she is.

Diana, ITA that Dulce is not a gracious loser. I could see her pulling the “crawl into bed with the drunken man” bit.

JudyB, great comparison between love affairs and novelas. Very few are keepers.

Good Morning, Patio Peeps. Keeping it short today because I'm already tired. I had an early visitor that wanted free chicken so I was up most of the very early morning. This time I think it is a cougar...the four-legged kind...hahaha. Susy, you get a gray, rainy day and I get a hot day with record breaking temps in the high 90's...expected.

Jarifa, excellent recap and love the title too, thank you! Someone or another has already expressed my thoughts do ditto to everyone.

Susy, loved your comment ""Dulce borrow Jorge's glasses and take a good look at Kiki. Jorge is not leaving that."

Doris ITA Dulce is disgusting. And Kirby, I do hope Kika does KikaHerAss. But isn't pretty much the norm that the nemesis outs the good one. I bet Dulce is going to somehow find out about Kika's lie and reveal it to Jorge...ARGHHH!

Scottie has been busy on this show; he beamed Pabs right over to Lili. And they have NO plans of getting married???

RgvChick, sorry to hear you are having wildlife problems. Stay safe! Yes, Scottie has been busy. : )

Judy....tablet typed Nudy three times!!!! Anyhoo, the germs found me even before I had kids when I was student teaching and my sister's kids came to the farm every weekend.

Dulce is a narcissist who thinks that the universe revolves around her. I hope that she has met her match in kiki. If you have ever we around a narcissist, you know how stressful they make life for anyone around them.

Chickie...please be careful...cougars are dangerous ..the two legged kind and the four legged kind. We have coyotes around here.

Excellent recap, Jarifa! I'm sure Valentina remembers that it was Kika who protected her from the sexual predator. Dulce was a bit late on that job, one of the many reasons that Valentina feels a bond with Kika and not with her mother. At least don Noel is in a hospital or mental facility with a caregiver. I was afraid he might be locked up somewhere with no one else around and Fabián not able to tell anyone where he was. Renee really shouldn't keep information about María from Anifer--she always ends up finding out anyway and it would be better coming from Renee rather than Neto.

Jarifa, thank you for a great and detailed recap, it was fun to read and very helpful.

The scene where Toño was interviewing and waving around his rosary beads was alternately funny and then painful to watch. Way too much sucking up.

Mauricio getting choked up over all that Fab and he meant to each other had me saying "Huh?"

Chickie, yeah, Scottie was busy. And Ariel is wearing a Star Trek uniform. Whatever. But do be careful if there is a possibility of a cougar around. I don't know much about them, but I remember reading of cougar attacks on bicyclists in California. Not nice kitties at all.

Dulce has upset a lot of us with her "we're still married in the eyes of God" talk with Jorge. But she just makes me laugh, and makes me wonder once again what this TN is trying to tell us about religion.

I do hope Flor is OK. It's too late in the show to pull any caca de toro with her now!

Fútbol again tonight, I believe.

PSA#? ..education yay

PSA#?...philosophyisgood..I think;tberefore, I am.

PSA#? You can't go home again ....Tom Wolfe\Dulce

Andy - I was afraid Toño would swing that rosary around and out his eye out.

Andy, thank you for reminding us about the soccer game tonight. I dobadmit that I got ackick out of Toño, the interview and the rosary. It was well written.

PSA# 101 Hottest chick does get the worm

cluck cluck ! Cock-a-doodle-doo

Tono tries to show how religious he is in the interview .Jorge gives holier than thou lectures . Dulce plays the religion card to weasel her way back into her home and marriage. This show seems to also be constantly giving a PSA that seems antireligion.

Or at least anti-religious intolerance.

True about this show's anti-religion stance. I'm surprised Milady was even baptized. I guess that can go more to custom than religion, but they really haven't portrayed religion in any positive way. Dulce's play shows how religion can protect those who don't deserve it, though here the roles are reversed. Countless times women married by the church end up not leaving their cheater husbands, because to do so would be sin. Or making a new life with someone else would be a sin. It shouldn't be that way, but religious marriage often works as an institution to subjugate women (for those devout, at the very least).

I fear Jorge is going to see some really tough times. Dulce is working to get the kids against him. She has Sammy's loyalty without even trying. Valentina can be very impressionable- one wrong move and Jorge ends up in her bad list. The twins are most likely going to be out of home the minute they turn 18. Dulce seems to scoff at their presence. Or maybe they'll voluntarily leave, as they have promised to do beforehand.

Ariel reminds me of Brandon Peniche.

Maia

Maia...you made some interesting points

I liked Jorge being proactive enough about moving into a new house and leaving Dulce , but it appears that Sam would stay with Mommy and perhaps Val would too since Dul seems to be winning her over. So, that means the new household would be Kiki , Baldo, Lily , and maybe Pablo. However, exact!y where would Jorge get the money for a new place? Kiki?

Gosh, it was my understanding that (maybe not in Mexico) if your spouse unceremoniously leaves with another love interest, (especially a Narco) you can get a divorce whether he/she/it signs anything or not. Did Jorge just not follow through, or is it not so in Mexico.?

It still floors me the concept of 'not giving' someone a divorce.
Conventional wisdom says that if you do not want to continue to be married to someone, for what-ever-reason, good or bad, there is no plausible reason to force you to stay, no matter what you said long ago to convince them to enter into this bond.

I do not believe there should be 'Drive Through' divorces either,in that one of you ties a good one on on Friday Night and sobers up Sunday single. But this protracted guerrilla warfare benefits no one except the lawyers and maybe courts. Our imaginary predicament our imaginary Jorge is in makes a good argument for the above.

You must wonder not why a few just decide to kill'em instead.

Dulce toses her mane around and remarks: "Humf, that was fun. You miss me kids, I missed you. Now what do you want for breakfast, are you wearing that to school?"

Let's hold out hope that Isauro will implicate Dulce and she'll end up in jail. Soon. Forever.

Doris...that would devine justice.

Thank you Jarifa! I too enjoyed the part where Flor talks about wanting to improve herself and study philosophy. What was the Spanish word she used? Because did not hear her use the word that I am more familiar with "filosofía". The only reason I figured out she was talking about philosophy was because she was mentioning names of philosophers.

I still cannot believe the nerve of Dulce. She ABANDONED her family and now she says that the divorce was not final because she didn't sign the papers? Sammy is still a little boy who missed his mommy and I can understand why he forgives so easily. Valentina is not so forgiving because she remembers being stood up by her mother at the hotel where Dulce promised to meet her and take her to New York. Well that never happened. I hope that Val finds out that it was her mother's boyfriend who tried to kidnap her.

Well we have the night off tonight. Can't wait till Friday's episode!

Cynthia, Flor was studying “estética” (aesthetics) which is the philosophical study of beauty and art. It seems she might have confused the class with “estética” (esthetics) which deals with skin care/beauty treatments because Nerón asked what kind of beauty related treatments had she learned about. I just love Flor because she is always so positive and now is even more so.

It was sort of nice having a break from the action tonight.

Thanks Jarifa. That makes sense now. It's nice to see a character like Flor want to do self improvment. I like the way she encouraged Lili to finish her education too.

". I like the way she encouraged Lili to finish her education too. " Yes, another good PSA for pregnant teens.

Good Morning patio.

Now with Fabian conveniently comatose and out of the way, temporarily I assume, what is the next step for our not so heroic heroes? There are so many loose ends here it is like trying to reassemble a shirt run over by the lawn mower.

Will all Fabian's shenanigans include the discovery of a huge pile of money he embezzled from Mau? Then does Mau get his money, or a oart of it, and Logatoys back?

And who shot Roger Rabbit? I can not remember if it was Noel or Fabian who caused Mother Mau's death, Fabian I assume. Will that come to light? Can you prosecute someone for murder embezzlement, etc etc etc while they are still in a coma? Even in a TN? If you put them in, say, the electric chair, don't you want them to be conscious to participate?

Do they find Noel, and does he at the last minute call Renee Hija, and tell her he luuurves her before the effects of the sedatives knock him off.?

And speaking of: Exactly what are we going to see with the seventh dwarf Renee? Is Miss third wheel of a thousand identical jackets going to be with Mauricio? Then how do we dispose of Maria.? Or does Renee sail off into the Master's Sunset wit Ariel, and the whack on the head knock some sense into Maria so that she can for once be NICE and she and Mau can be together?

Are we finally done with Papa-Mama Mel? Then can Pablo get a straight guy hairdo? And take Lil with him for an UNdo?

How do they resolve this Dulce mess without making a bigger mess? How old is Sammy? Old enough to watch porn on his tablet and get into the self mutilation group, but acts about five when it comes to Mama. I'd say he is far from representative of most kids. If Anifer had discovered that Maria was just out having a fling all that time, I do not believe things would be all unicorns and cupcakes now with her and Maria.

Rod and Raf? FF FF FF I Just flat do not care. Talk about flogging a dead horse.

Will we have time for Flor's hair to grow back? Actually she looked pretty cute in several of the wigs, but purple is not her friend.

Kika should have her own TN. I liked her OK in La Piloto, but that was not nearly as big a part as this one where, frankly, she shone.

If Fabian's car is totaled, can I have the wheels?

kj

So nice to stop here for a bit of fun when real life and the news is pulling you down ! Kirby, your words and unique view often gives me a smile. I appreciate it.

I hope that Dul gets jettisoned soon. What nerve.

Another overcast day here......boo.

We are lucky up here: a sunny spring day!

Prayers for the students, staff, and people at Santa Fe High School in TX . May those who perished rest in peace and may those injured recover quickly and be without severe debilitating injuries.

Oh, no, another awful, senseless shooting! My condolences and sympathy to all involved and their loved ones.

andy

Cannot believe that there has been another tragedy. Prayers .
