Papa a Toda Madre, Capítulo 102 (Part 1) Univision #99 Friday, June 8, 2018; One resignation, one missed hit, and one big setup

Last night, we left off with Fabian asking Anifer, “So, do you like your new bedroom?” But Ani says, “I want to go with my dad.” Fabian tells her, “In this house we are going to live like the family we are—with your mother and your father—that means me.” Ani says, “So are you two together again?” Maria say, “No, we are not together and that is not going to happen.” Ani then asks, “And what about Mauricio? Is he going to live with us too? Because this huge house is big enough for them to live here too!” Fabian says, “Well, maybe Renée could come here because she is your auntie. But as for Mauricio, let’s just say he will be living a life far from us. I don’t think you will ever see him again.” Ani says, “And why not? He is my daddy!” Maria tries to interrupt and say, “What Fabian is saying is something else…” But Fabian interrupts and says, “Hey there is something you are not understanding. If you are going to mention me in front of Ani, you better call me by what I am…her father, not ‘Fabian’. Is that clear?  And you, Anifer, you need to know what Mauricio did was very bad. And if you never see him again, it’s because the law says so, not me! The law. And while we are at it, you need to forget about your life with Mauricio and start your life with me—your father! Get that into your head now! That is just the way things are.” Maria just stares at Fabian with disgust.

The next day Anifer and Maria accompany Fabian to Logatoys. But before they enter, we see Gladys writing her letter of resignation! [It’s about time, girl!] As they enter, hear Ani saying something about that she wants to go to school, but Fabian says like the narcissist he is, “You should be happy to come to your father’s workplace. Let’s think about other things. So how do you like having my last name?” Gladys in the background, shaking her head saying “Qué barbidád!” which means, “that’s awful” or maybe even more succinctly, “what an atrocity!” Ani then says, “So does this mean that I’m no longer going to have Mauricio’s name?” Fabian says, “Mauricio is nothing to you. And you me are family. We are going to make the best toys in the world. It will be much better than that thing you have there.” (Fab was looking at her papa/mama dolls). Still watching Fabian’s shenanigans, Gladys gets up from her desk to announce to Fabian that, “The lawyer Garcia is in your office and while I’m at it, here is my resignation. Goodbye!” She also says looking at both Maria and Ani, “Good luck girls! You are going to need it.” She struts out of the office while Fabian growls, calling her, “You ungrateful, hostile woman!” [I half expected Gladys to look back at Fabian, giving him the finger, and say, “Ask me if I care.” But I suppose she would not do that in front of a child.]

Next thing we know is that Jorge is outside in the Privada with Rodrigo and a couple of investigators. Jorge remarks that he hopes this does not take too long as he has a lot of work to do with Mauricio’s case. The investigator starts asking Jorge if he knows of anything suspicious going on such as in drug dealing in the Privada. Jorge says that he knows everyone there and everyone he knows is a decent person and he has never seen anything like that around the Privada. The investigator then asks him, “How many children live in your home?” So Jorge tells him he has “four children, two are adolescents, the older ones who are twins are 18 years old. Wait, that’s not correct. My daughter, one of the twins just moved in with her boyfriend, as she is going to become a mother...and I don’t know why I’m talking so much…” The investigator asks Jorge, “Do you think any of your kids are doing drugs?” But Jorge denies that any of his kids could be doing drugs. Then the investigator says that someone described a young person who was selling drugs and gave a description that sounded very much like Baldo. He asked, “Do you know anyone like that?” Then Jorge says nervously, “My son Baldo.” Pretty soon Baldo comes out and tells the story of how he came to be in possession of that little packet of drugs. He also tells them how this guy at school is demanding 1000 pesos for it, but he did not consume the drugs, he flushed it down the toilet. He tells Jorge too, that’s what he wanted the 1000 pesos for. Jorge looks at him and says, “I believe you.” He tells the investigators that he will support and stand by his son with this. He also tells Baldo to please trust him in whatever he needs. Baldo looks very grateful. Rod goes on to say that he thinks this all had to do with that mysterious guy who was hanging out in the Privada. So Rod says, “As far as I’m concerned, this case is closed.”

At Logatoys, Garcia is waiting for Fabian in the office. He tells Fabian that they need to inform the employees about the present situation. Since the accident there has been a lot of talking and questions. But somehow Fabian makes some nonsensical talk about Mauricio in jail and how everything is wonderful because he has Anifer and Maria. But outside the door, Anifer is listening to this nonsense. Maria catches Anifer listening in on Fabian’s conversation with Garcia, so she takes her and walks out with her.

Later, Fabian queries Ani about the toys asking her she liked the robot. But Ani says, “I just really wanted to go to school.” She can’t understand why she is hanging around and not going to school.  Then Fabian starts getting very irritated with Ani and starts yelling at her. She asks him why he is so angry but he denies being angry. [Well it sure looks like a tantrum to me.] He then fakes a smile and says, “You know every day I love you more.” Ani looks away and says, “Well, that’s what you say.” Maria just quietly giggles in the background.

Renée goes over to visit Noel at his place. Right away he starts complaining to Renée how she hasn’t called or come to see him. [Oh right, Noel. And where were you in Renée’s life the past 25+ years?]  Then he tells her, “And out of consideration for me, you didn’t even tell me you were coming today.” Renée just ignores it and tells him something very serious has happened with Mauricio. She wants him to give testimony on how unstable Fabian is and how he is a menace to Anifer’s well-being.  She wants it made clear that the only thing that Mau tried to do was protect Anifer from Fabian’s insanity. Noel does not know if his testimony will make any difference. But Renée begs to differ. “He was the one who had you kidnapped and hidden away. He finally agrees to make a testimony regarding Fabian, but it comes with two conditions. 1) She must accept his last name and 2) Take care of him for the rest of his life.

Fabian is still harping at Ani trying to get her to like him even though he is treating her badly. He promises her new toys and other things, but she just wants to go home to the Privada. He starts yelling at her and finally Maria has had it with him and she says something. But Fabian gets even more angry and abusive, telling Maria to shut up. Then Ani says, “I wish I hadn’t been praying for you to be cured.” He gets just a bit emotional and then asks her if there is something else she would want and he will consider it. So Ani asks, “I want you to get Mauricio out of jail.”

Finally, he agrees to drop the charges against Mauricio so he can get out of jail. Ani says she needs to use the little girl’s room, so Maria sends her, but before she accompanies Ani there, she turns to Fabian and says, “How much longer are you going to keep hurting her? Please don’t give her any illusions to what you are or aren’t going to do.” But Fabian is already on the phone calling his lawyer, Garcia.

Renée gives Noel the information regarding Jorge being the lawyer in the case and how he can give his deposition to him.  They talks some more but she lets him know this: “This doesn’t mean that I love you or that I will call you daddy.”

Back at the Privada, Jorge and Baldo sit down to talk. He says, “Baldo, you are my son and I want you to know that I support you no matter what. And even more, I want you to know that you are a great person and a good young man.” Baldo says, “Well I hope those men believed me. I’m not going to TJ or going to hang out here and there if they want to question me some more.” Jorge tells him he has thought things out well. But corrects him from saying “TJ” to “Tijuana.” Then Jorge asks, “When you leave, have you thought about where you are going to live?” Baldo says he has talked with some guy friends and they told him he could stay with them for a while. Jorge advises, “If I were you, I’d stay here for a while longer so you can finish your schooling instead of interrupting your studies at the very end.” Baldo says he can fix things up to take care of Jorge, but Jorge stops him and says, “No, you will not be taking care of me and none of my kids will do that. Why don’t you just stay here and wait it out. I’ll have part of your money soon and we will all figure out what to do.

Jorge’s phone rings, but Baldo walks out. It’s Renée on the phone.

Garcia shows up at the jail saying that Fabian is dropping the charges but with restrictions. Garcia wants Mau to sign a document saying that Mau intended to kidnap Anifer and now can no longer come near her. Mau gets angry and says he will not sign it. But Garcia leaves and tells him to think about it. Then Jorge looks at Mau very seriously and says, “Think about this now and think well. Just remember, you are no good to Anifer if you are locked up in here. And even though you are told to stay away from Anifer, the better thing is that you are free.” Finally, Mau opens the documents to sign.

Dulce and Val are at home, and it looks like Val was doing the cooking again and she is waiting on her own mother, serving her. They start arguing and Val tells her mother she is going to go live with her father. Dulce then says, “Well get out and go with him.”

The doorbell rings, Val goes to answer and it’s Lili. They embrace as they are glad to see each other. Lili asks, “Is Jorge here?” Then Dulce starts to get ugly with Lili as usual. Val defends Lili and says she want to visit with her. Dulce says, “Well outside in the patio or in the street, but not here!” Val stands up to her mother and says, “You know what? This is my home too.” She takes Lili to her room.

The next thing you know, Dulce is answering her phone and it’s---Isauro! She does not look happy to hear from him. He talks about getting money from her…then the doorbell rings again. While she is telling him on the phone she isn’t going to get him any money, she opens the door and there he is! Isauro muscles his way inside. He wants to know if she is alone and Dulce claims she is alone in the house.

At the police station, Mauricio finishes signing the documents and turns them in to the officials. Then Renée appears in the hallway with Noel at her side. [The cello plays music.] Noel sees Mau and they embrace. Noel says something like, “My darling Mauricio, how are you?” Mau says, “Papa, Noel, I have been really wanting to see you for a long time. Do you have time to talk?” Noel says, “We will make time for that later. But right now I have something more important. I need to make my statement for the deposition on this case.” Jorge takes Noel aside so that he can take the deposition. Then Renée and Mau embrace as Renée says, “I can’t believe that you are finally free now. How did it happen?” Mau says, “Fabian dropped the charges.” Renée, looking extremely shocked says, “What?????”

Noel starts to tell his story to the official and to Jorge. He says, “It’s been over 20 years that he has played dead and I got death certificate documents too. I know all this has consequences, but I don’t care, it’s more important to tell the truth.” Then he says, “In my opinion, Fabian is mentally unstable.” Noel finishes his statement and Jorge escorts him out to where Mau and Renée are waiting. He says he told them everything about Fabian. Jorge assures them it appears that this will really help in the Anifer custody case as it can be shown that Fabian is mentally unstable.

At a coffee shop, Mau thanks Renée for getting Noel to come and tell the truth. “I hope that his confession is helpful” says Mau. “Now what you need to do is think with a clear head so that you can be prepared for whatever comes now,” says Renée. She adds, “I’m here with you for always.” Mau says, “Well that’s nice, but aren’t you going to Maryland?” “No, I have postponed my master’s program,” says Renee.

In the background, a man wearing black is spying on Mau and Renée and on the phone with someone telling him that he has them spotted.

Renée explains that because he (Mau) is there and also Noel needs help, that is why she is postponing her masters program. Mau says he doesn’t understand and asks if she is telling him everything. Then Renée’s phone rings and it’s Maria. She wants Anifer to talk to Mauricio. Fabian is standing in the background watching and listening. Ani asks if he is out of jail and Mau says he is and he really wants to see her and that he loves her very much. Ani says she wants to see him too and have him and Renée come and live with them. Mau says, “I’m sorry but things aren’t that simple. It just can’t be that way.” Then Fabian takes the phone from Ani and says he wants to talk to Mau too. [What a nice guy—NOT!] Fabian makes some nasty comments and tells Mau that he will never come near Anifer again.

At the coffee shop where Mau and Renée are at, the mysterious man in black continues to watch them. He follows them out when they are done. Over at Logatoys, Fabian gives orders over the phone to kill Mauricio.

Renée, Mau, Jorge, and Noel arrive at the Privada and they all get out of the car. They all hug Mau and then Nerón recognizes Noel and they all seem glad to see Noel. As the group breaks up to go inside, you can hear sirens in the background. Once inside, Noel starts to tell the story about what happened with their respective families, his wife, Mau’s mother and the differences he had with Bosco.

Back at the Turrubiates home, the girls are upstairs talking. Lili reveals that life on her own with Pablo isn’t what she thought it would be. They don’t even have enough money for food! Val immediately offers to help her out by at least giving her some food that is in the kitchen. Meanwhile, downstairs Isauro has grabbed Dulce and says he wants to see his money now and wants her to go to the bank with him to get it out. “Come on!” says Isauro. “They are waiting for me outside. Are you sure you are alone?” But Dulce says, “Wait a minute,” nervously. “I just have to get my purse.” At that moment, Val comes down stairs, saying, “Mama!” As she comes down, Dulce is telling her to go to her room. But Val sees Isauro and becomes hysterical, recognizing him as the man who tried to kidnap her! Isauro says, “Don’t move!” The camera focuses on the gun Isauro has on his belt.

Val, crying to her mother says, “You were going to let him take me!” But Dulce denies this. Isauro then says that the both of them will have to come with him. Dulce pleads that Val be able to stay home, but Isauro says no, “I don’t want there to be any mischief going on while we are out.” Then Sammy, with his earbuds on, unaware that anything else is going on downstairs, finds Lili in Val’s room. He comes and “Oh, what’s going on Lili?” But she shushes him up and tries to call Baldo to let him know what is happening and that they need help. But Isauro finds them all and puts them all in the bedroom and ties them up with duct tape. [Do all criminals carry duct tape? Is it part of their criminal tool kit?]

After Isauro and accomplice finish with binding up Lili and Sammy, he says he still wants to leave the country with Dulce and sell off Val. Then he looks at Lili and says, “You are pregnant, right?” He makes a statement seeming like he has plans for that baby in the black market.

While all the above is going on, outside in the Privada yard, the Barrientos all come out with their children as well as Manola with Brian, out there playing at once. Nerón even strolls Milady outside.  Isauro looks out the window, is on the phone telling his accomplice that they can’t do this quite yet because there are too many kids outside.

The scene continues inside the Turrubiates home with Isauro grabbing Val, covering her and dragging her away. But then the doorbell rings again and it’s Baldo who is fuming. He comes inside the house wanting to know what happened to Lili. Dulce just says, “Relax. What are you talking about?”

An armed sniper gets up on the rooftop of the Privada with his high powered rifle ready to make his hit.

Inside the Turrubiates house, Baldo is very upset, starts yelling at Dulce demanding to know what happened to Lili. Isauro appears with his gun and Baldo goes after him. Isauro, shoots the gun upward, which is heard in the entire Privada outside where the children are playing, startling the children and the adults. Lili finally gets the duct tape off of her mouth and wrists, then she frees Sammy.  Mau peers outside and asks Renée to call Rodrigo at once.

Maria and Ani are at Fabian’s place while Ani pleads with him to go to the Privada and see Mau. But Fabian just blows up in anger at her. He exclaims, “You are never going to see him every again!”

While Renée is on the phone, Mau decides to go outside to try to do something. A black SUV pulls up in front of the Privada with the two “investigators” we saw previously. Mau throws a big rock at one of them. The scene is just in total chaos with Baldo and Jorge against Isauro. Toño uses a super soaker water gun against one of the men from the SUV.

Finally, Rod pulls up and very keenly sees there is also a sniper on the roof. [I guess police officers do that, scan the entire scene and don’t get distracted by the chaos.] Rod swiftly goes to the top of the roof to catch the sniper and shoots him just as his gun discharges.

But down on the ground, it appears that Baldo took a bullet and is down. Even Dulce appears shocked. Jorge cries out, “Call an ambulance!”

On the roof, Rod tells the sniper to be quiet while holding him at gunpoint.

In the hospital waiting room, Sammy seems to be having a heart to heart talk with his mother about how much he loves his other siblings. He explains to her, “The problems you have with our father and Sra. Yuridia, well, they are YOUR problems and not mine. And that goes for my brother and sister too. They are my brother and sister and I do love them. Thankfully, Dulce seems to be understanding and not bitchy like she normally is. Jorge comes over and Sammy asks how Baldo is. Jorge tells him that Baldo is going to be fine, thanks be to God and the doctors. Then he says he needs to speak with his mother.

Jorge sits down and says, “Dulce you know that you are responsible for injecting that criminal into our family?” She explains she never thought things would go as far as they did, after all, she had already broken up with him. She asks Jorge to forgive her. He then says, “You are a lawyer, so you know what is coming. You know about the links there are to that man and also your link to that account.” Dulce says, “Well, I think I’d better leave before the authorities catch up with me. I have also been thinking that it’s best that I don’t return to the house.” Then she hands over the keys to Jorge so he can get into the house. [As you may remember, she had all the locks changed.] Jorge then asks, “So what are you going to do now Dulce? I hope you aren’t going to do something foolish. Like running away, that would be a lot worse for you.” Dulce says, “I don’t know yet, but I just hope that someday you can forgive me for everything I’ve done to you. I know I’ve treated the twins very badly. I know I’ve been very venomous. I’ve tried to poison Sammy’s and Val’s minds against you.” Jorge answers, “Well the least you can do is ask them forgiveness.” But Dulce says she can’t because she will die of embarrassment. It’s really just best that I leave.” “So are you going to leave without saying goodbye to your children?” says Jorge.

Fabian is on the phone that evening talking to Garcia making reference to “that cat” [must be referring to the hitman] who hasn’t reported in yet. [Fabian: Check with the police station and the jails. You’ll find him.] Garcia tells him that he probably isn’t communicating out of security and not to worry, he will take care of things.

Back at the hospital, Jorge and Rod are talking and Jorge says, “So the guy who shot my son had nothing to do with Isauro?” Rod says (looking at Mauricio), “He already confessed and told us that the one he wanted to shoot was you, Mauricio.” Mau says, “But why me?” Rod says, “They offered him $50,000 pesos to the job.” Mau looks shocked! “ONLY $50,000 pesos????” [He knows he’s worth much more than that, right?] Then Rod says, “All of this has to do with some lawyer named Garcia.” Renée says, “This is Fabian’s lawyer.” Rod says the police are preparing a warrant to pick him up. Jorge mentions how the information that Noel gave is working out and shows that Fabian is a danger to Anifer. Mauricio is very worried about Ani and Maria being with Fabian right now. He mentions that he is also worried that Fabian will get wind of what is going on and try to escape with Anifer. Rod says, “No that’s not going to happen because the hitman is not able to communicate with anyone. So Fabian is not going to know anything.” But Renée says she knows what to do to get him out of his house.

Renée goes over to Logatoys and calls Fabian. She tells him she needs to negotiate with him because she has certain rights. “Oh and by the way, I have Noel here at Logatoys.” And there he is, sitting in the captain’s chair! She goes on, “And I’m going to help him with whatever he wants. Everyone knows who he is now and that he is alive and well.”

Well, this is my last recap for "Papa a toda Madre." I have enjoyed this patio very much but I have particularly enjoyed my fellow recappers, Alfredo, Jarifa and RGV Chick. Thank you Alfredo for managing us and keeping us on schedule. You all are a great group to work with.

As you know, I'm happy this story is finally coming to a conclusion. I am happy to have recapped this section with so much action and adventure. I think I liked this episode most of all.

Thank you everyone for your support and your comments, as well as your encouragement. I'm going to take a break from recapping for a few months, but when season 2 of the next "Mi Marido Tiene mas Familia" comes out, I'll be there for that one.

Cheers!

Thank you so much, Cynthia. You sure did this capítulo justice. Outstanding, as usual!

I felt sorry for Renée being asked by Noél to put off her graduate studies. Will she ever be able to do so? She is not going to call him “Papá” Noél! Santa Claus. My own bad joke.

Mark Tacher as Fabián is doing a great job looking more wild-eyed and crazed all the time. I sure hope they find an appropriate anvil for him. Talking about anvils, Dulce’s anvil is to be on the run?

I appreciated all of the action in the cul-de-sac.

Well, I am looking forward to Monday’s gran final.

Thanks Ms. Cynthia...you certainly did this wild rigamarole sliced and diced capitulo justice. Felt like I was watching it with you.

Was glad to see that Dulce was decent enough to try and protect the children from Isauro. I'm always the wuss who doesn't want to see anyone punished...just STOPPED. And also to repent and learn from their mistakes. But sometimes Anvils are the only way.

Fabian's Papa seems just as selfish and inconsiderate as Fabian himself. And both a little (or a lot) crazy as well. So it will be interesting to see how the writers wrap this up.

In the meantime, a special thanks to you who soldiered through a serious illness to keep bringing us timely recaps. Enjoy that hiatus before Mi Marido Tiene Más Familia begins again. Happy to know our Patio will reunite for that one, if Bella y Bestias turns out to be too Brutal.

Thank You Cynthia, Goodbye Kika. So they had to have seventeen things happening at once in the Privada? It reminds me of when a spark gets loose on a fireworks barge and sets off everything at once.

So D'Ulcer's anvil is to just walk away? That's an anvil the size of Jorge's nuts. That is what she did before, forget her kids and home and run off somewhere. As the bad guys were being apprehended, it had to be obvious to LE that she was the reason for the hostage situation, so WHY was she not taken into custody? Or at least a bullet?

Take Noel's name and care for him for-EVER? PFFFTT. Wipe your own ass old man.

If this is what TNs are going to look like now that Rosie O'Campo has taken over the world, I'm out.

Monday's Gran Final should be worth watching though. It has been a fun bumpy ride gang.

Thank you for this recap, Cynthia H., and all the recaps you've written for us! I appreciate your dedication and giving, especially through your recovery from BP. Thank you! This was a very busy episode, too, and I loved all your red "asides" in this one, too.

"Finally, Rod pulls up and very keenly sees there is also a sniper on the roof. [I guess police officers do that, scan the entire scene and don’t get distracted by the chaos.] "
Spidey sense? LOL

Actually, the chaos was quite funny. One of the kids had good aim with the soccer ball, hitting a bad guy in the head. Toño's aim with the water gun (I thought it was a Nerf gun) got another baddie in the eye. I burst out laughing over the whole thing. Well, until Baldo got shot.

Thanks, Cynthia. Terrific job. Like Doris, I loved this zinger: Finally, Rod pulls up and very keenly sees there is also a sniper on the roof. [I guess police officers do that, scan the entire scene and don’t get distracted by the chaos.]"

Seems like Isauro has spidey sense too. How else would he detect that slim Lili is pregnant?

Still don't like Noel. Too bad Renee has to sacrifice for him.

Cynthia, hope you feel better and better with each new day. Your perseverance and cheer during your recovery is an inspiration. I look forward to your recapping Mi Marido Tiene Familia 2 when it airs.

Cynthia, thanks for another great recap with wonderful comments, especially the one about duct tape being part of a "criminal tool kit", too funny. This particular episode aside, this must have been a tough TN to cover. Quite a crazy run, and I admire your dedication.

I'm leaning towards Fabián, but I'm not totally decided whether Noel or Fabián is crazier or more controlling.

It has taken a lot, but Jorge is finally connecting with his kids, with his gay neighbors, and with just about everybody. He's even being decent with Dulce, who probably doesn't deserve it though she's now owning up to her own mistakes, a somewhat far-fetched battlefield conversion. Hopefully Miss Kika will now take her Georgie Boy back. If she moves in with him and his kids in the one-time favela it will be one really packed house. And Momma Kika may just want to mother Milady from time to time.

It looks like Fabian's wild ride with María was just a dry run for his total meltdown. Monday's finale should be a bit grim, at least to start with.

Ah, well. At least it should be over soon.

Hi everyone,

Thanks for all your comments. I'll be very busy today, I have an all day class today. It's one of those weekend classes that starts Friday from 1-10 and then goes from 9-5 Saturday.

Anyway, I was wondering where Kika was in all of this. And why in the world is Dulce allowed to just walk away with no punishment? Maybe part of the anvil is that is going to end up a "marked woman" and will always be on the run? Seems like she should go to prison though.

A couple of you mentioned about the toy water gun. Yeah it might have been a nerfball gun. It went so fast for me. It looked like the "super soaker" water guns my kids used to play with. In fact, I found a couple of them in the garage a few weeks ago and threw them out.

It is true about police officers. I have a friend who is a retired detective and he says that when they walk in to any scene, they scan the entire area, making mental notes even if it's not a crime scene. It's like they are constantly on the lookout for things that an ordinary person might not notice.

Thank you, Cynthia, for this final recap and for all the recaps and screen caps that you crafted for us even when you were having some life and health issues . I admire your dedication. Perhaps I will see you comment at thelitforum.com one day. Lots of interesting discussions about Outlander there.

Yes, police officers and firefighters are trained to quickly size up any situation they encounter. I have five friends in those professions. Our friend who is a fireman checks all The exits when we go anywhere with him... Movie theaters, restaurants, etc. As a fire inspector, he also tells us which restaurants we shouldn't eat at.

So...Dulce is now The Fugitive ...that's her trave!ing anvil?

I guess that we no longer get galans in these new Rosy telenovelas. que lastima. The 11 a.m. Show (,Corazon ) is good so far , and it has a great galan. Give it a try. It seems like a good old-fashioned novela.

I just wanted to pop in and give you muchos "thank-yous" Cynthia, Alfredo, Jarifa and RGV Chick. These comedies are easy to understand for a beginner but the recapping is essential for the mumbled and high speed dialog.

The courtyard action scene was the best, it was the perfect culmination of all the dinners, games and conversations this motley group has had.

I watch with the subtitles and I wish I could salute those who write the captions, it doesn't seem like they are working with a script.

(I think Kika said muchos "thank-yous" recently and that made me chuckle)

Thanks again recappers! you are appreciated!
Rena

Susanlynn, You are so right about “Corazón qué miente”. My VCR is set for 11:00 a.m.

And Andy and I will miss you too bounc...Yolanda

My goodness Kirby, you do find THE pictures. Don't think we'll see any more of Yolanda in the episode to come, but we're certainly getting a good look there.

Jarifa, glad you'll be watching Corazon que Miente. I hope Anita can get a Patio going. She's certainly a trooper for putting up recaps every day, even if it's just in the comments section.

JudyB...Like moths to a flame. :-)

Uh oh...Yolanda seems to have forgotten something. It happens when one is in a rush. Sometimes I forget to put on earrings.

Good Eye Susy. But try as I will, I can't see her ears.? ? ?

I have a question for you all before we go to the last show tomorrow. I must have missed the conclusion of what happened with Ciseron and his family. The last thing I remember is that Socorro brought the boys back from school and they had been in trouble for selling pan dulce, which they had taken from the house. I remember Flor had been looking for it and no one seemed to know where it went.

Then that was the last I saw of them. Was there a scene that I missed? They all seem to be out of Flor and Neron's home now. Did they get kicked out and I missed it?

Good Morning, my dear, dedicated Patio Peeps!

Cynthia, what a great treat you have made out of this 'capirutada.' I do want to thank you for all that you have done. You are truly to be admired for having stuck it out despite your illness. I pray that you make a full recovery...and I will be looking forward to your recaps on Season 2 of Mi Marido.

I'm pretty sure we are ALL happy to see this thing come to an end...1 more day of the idiocy and unbelievable twists and turns that we are supposed to be entertained with...then it ENDS...YAY!! Kirby, it has been a fun, bumpy ride, but the fun part came from the patio :-)

Jarifa, I felt sorry for Renee too, but I think I would do the same if the man I loved was wrongly put in jail...then I would change my mind afterwards ..HA!

JudyB, "Fabian's Papa seems just as selfish and inconsiderate as Fabian himself." Definitely!! Nut->tree!!

So Dulce's anvil is to just leave and not say good bye to the kids??? As if she cares??? FFW->->->->

Niecie, "Seems like Isauro has spidey sense too. How else would he detect that slim Lili is pregnant?" How right you are! I thought the same thing!

Andy, "I'm not totally decided whether Noel or Fabián is crazier or more controlling." They're both crazy as he**. I think the difference is that Noel is cold, calculating and very patient while Fabian is just cold and crazy...he's really losing it when Noel has never lost it.

Kirby, I'm not surprised you found that pic. Here's one for the ladies :-) ->->->->->->->↑

Greek god.

Cynthia
- " I must have missed the conclusion of what happened with Ciseron and his family.
Did they get kicked out and I missed it?"

Here is the entire recap itself: http://caraycaray.blogspot.com/2018/05/papa-toda-madre-wednesday-may-30-2018.html

The short version with the pertinent facts:
"In the kitchen, Flor asks Socorro if she knows who ate all her sweet bread, but Socorro shakes her head but notices Flor looking at her and tells her that the kids had nothing to do with it. Ciceron then comes screaming, because Socorro has not gone to pick up the kids, and she goes running. Flor can't believe he was so rude to his wife but Ciceron doesn't care as she does as he wants. Neron comes in then, slams the door, and puts a beating on Ciceron as Flor grabs her sandal and also goes to hit him. (I always laugh when the chancla (sandal/flip flop comes off! The power of the chancla!")

Neron can't believe Ciceron paid his mortgage but then sold liquor illegally and risked everything for extra money. Cicero explains that he rented out his house , so he could get some extra money to pay for everything and moved in with him because Neron's house belongs to all of them (Cieron and Socrates) because ti belonged to Carmelita. Neron grabs his face and reminds him that Carmelita is dead, so his house if now Flor's. Ciceron understands but Neron can't believe he did something illegal when he always taught his sons to be fair and just. Ciceron reminds him that they barely saw him but Neron reminds him that, the little he taught them, he always said to never steal or lie or cheat. Either way, he better clean up his room and think about how much longer he's goin to stay in HIS house. Ciceron obliges as Flor cheers Neron on and hugs him tight. She then gives him a big kiss and confesses that she's proud of him and the fact that he is still teaching his children to be better people. (I loved Flor cheering Nerón on! Awwww!)

Socorro arrives at Neron's and tells their kids to be quiet and wait for Ciceron, who arrives a minute later and asks her why she took so long. Socorro confesses that their kids got punished because they got caught selling fruit and sweet bread illegally, and they they offered the principal money, so they won't punish them. Ciceron demands to know where they got those habits from and they confess they they saw him selling beers illegally, so they find nothing wrong with their actions. Ciceron is shocked and Neron looks at his son and hits him in the forehead. He chides Ciceron for his poor example as Socorro looks on, tears in her eyes. (That was the best hit to the forehead I have seen in a long time)"

And, ITA about the best it to the forehead. I guffawed. Most unladylike, but there it was.

And shortly after, they all moved out.

Cynthia, it really surprises and annoys me that Looneycision makes cuts like that. Did they think that nobody would notice that Cicerón & family had gone? Or that nobody would wonder what happened? This TN has enough problems of its own without the cutting and dicing. Sheesh!
We are so lucky that we have recaps to help us out, some of which even provide details from the uncut version that most of us don't get to see.

Kirby, thanks for the photo :-)

Speaking of which, does anybody know the name of the actress who plays Yolanda? She has (unfortunately) such a small part that she is not identified in the credits. No doubt one of the women listed simply as part of the cast, but I tried a couple of those with no luck, some of the women I searched on I couldn't even place. The appearance of women seems to be a lot more changeable than that of men, depending on hair style, hair color, Wonderbra or lack of same, makeup, etc.

I'm looking forward to seeing this TN come to an end, though I suspect it will end with a lot of unresolved issues, especially with Kika and Jorge and his kids. Spinoff, anyone?

andy

Andy, I'm sure our resourceful Kirby knows her name and that's how he found her picture.

Research, research research. Signs of a great mind at work.

Andy, that would be Cynthia Alesco..and she happens to be Mark Tacher's RL girlfriend!

Judy, I did some research but came up with nothing but false leads. IMDb, for instance, says Andrea Portugal plays Yolanda. Andrea is really cute, but she's not Yolanda in this TN. I must have missed Cynthia Alesco in the credits, or didn't recognize her when I found a picture (doubtful).
Research, research research - find false leads and then give up. Sign of a not-so-great mind at work :-)

Chickie, thank you (yet again)! That's her! Lucky Mark Tacher!

:-)

andy

Doris thank you. But I do remember all that. I just didn't see any scene where they were told to move out and actually did move it and thought I had missed it. So I guess we were to assume that the next thing that happened was they moved out?

Okay, I have a question now for our bilingual folks. When Rodrigo was talking about how things were coming along with his adopted son and homework etc. he said:

pretty well....a tirones y jalones
the internet translated that as "stutters and milestones" which sounded ridiculous

would it be "with stops and starts" or yeah, with some "pushing and shoving"

I assumed from context that things weren't coming easy, but with hard work they seemed to be making some progress with the little guy. But it wasn't a lead pipe cinch

Cynthia - I think once we knew Cicero was not behind on his mortgage, there was probably a group conscience decision that he would move back there. Poof!!! Telenovela beanie hat time.

JudyB, in this case I would say “with stops and starts.”

Thanks Jarifa. Appreciate having some Spanish tutors online!

Nice try RGV Chik, but I heard his were FAKE !

Doris, I must have forgotten to put on my TN tinfoil beanie cap that day. I will have to remember to keep it handy from now on. ;)

End of net neutrality regulations.

Net Neutrality: Big business and greed wins again. Even in the face of overwhelming public sentiment against it, our Congress Critters were (probably) bribed into allowing the FCC to side with the bribers and against the tax paying public.

Consumer's Union and a handful of other organizations mounted a desperate last minute campaign to head it off, but remarkably, money and corruption won. Shoulda been a TeleNovela.

Oh Shoot, Yoli is still up there in her house painting clothes.

Time Lapse (overexposure) of boat ramp at night.--------------------------------->>>>>>

Kirby...lovely ...love the colors.

Susy, Thanks. To do night photography, you have to leave the lens open for much longer than otherwise to allow it to gather enough light. But when you do, the sky appears bright blue, (it's true color) in the time lapse photo. Many times it does not appear like that in the daytime because of reflected light which washes it out.

The trick in a shot like this is to not let the artificial lights overwhelm the natural lights. The shiny part in the near foreground is actually the sunroof of my car. I had to set the camera on something (my car) so that it would not move and blur the shot. And I didn't feel like dragging out a tipod.

So there: "Interesting pictures of uninteresting things".

:-)

So does everyone have their snack, Kleenex, drinks, and possibly, spouse ready for the GF tonight?

Yes, Kirby, the GF will be my dinner entertainment. I look forward to seeing how it all the plot lines are resolved or not.

I'm ready for the Por Fin.

I am sure we will have plenty to comment on no matter how it turns out. 🤔

Love the picture Kirby, love also that you're giving us new pics while we wait, wait, wait for this to end. In general, our better halves do not get into these telenovelas, and I doubt I'm going to need kleenex. But snacks are a must.

When it looked like Kizzie was going to meet the Grim Reaper this week, I bought several quarts of ice cream. I know the Irish drown their sorrows in whiskey, but it's ice cream for me all the way.

As it is, I'll be able to enjoy Madagascar Vanilla while watching Fabian see all his dastardly plans come to naught. And perhaps with Kizzie on my lap purring away. However she has "joint custody". In the evenings, she's usually on Bob's lap in the other room watching a new program. Little girl knows how to work all the angles.

JudyB, Madagascar vanilla sounds heavenly. I am baking an apple cake so maybe that will be dessert. Sure would be better with some of that ice cream.

Cute Judy. I sure didn't know praying for puss...er cats worked, but it MUST ! Who Knew?

Susy: Just got a mail from Consumer Reports that said

"The good news is that millions of Americans still want the safeguards that protected the open internet for years. A resolution just passed through the Senate to overturn the federal decision that removed these protections. Now we need it to pass through the House of Representatives."

Kirby, thanks for the heads up on the net status, and I do look forward to your photos. They cheer me as opposed to the news which harshes my vibe more each day. Meh😖

I am ready for the finale...fresh strawberries from our neighbor. I think they will probably be more satisfying than the conclusion to this tale. I have a feeling that we are not going to get closure on the many loose ends that are still dangling. Oh well, onward to the next show.

judy..It sounds as though Kizzy has rallied. Yeah . And you share the same self medication with Kiki...ice cream. All I have in the freezer is frozen whole fruit popsicles. Sometimes, hub surprises me with a CMP from the little restaurant up the street..maybe I should hint.

Definitely hit to Hub Susanlynn. I'm going to hike up to Chicago so I can share my ice cream with Jarifa and she can give me some of that cake!

Kirby, "Praying for Puss." Yep, that sounds like a prayer request that would appeal, you scamp. I can't explain Kizzie's miraculous recovery and don't know how long it will last, but there sure were a lot of good vibes and good thoughts coming from the Patio.
And they definitely helped me!

hint to Hub, not hit!

Judy...teehee..maybe a hint and a hit would get me some ice cream!!!!! Well, he is hulling the strawberries right now, so they are a sure thing for my telenovela treat. You and Jarifa would have a delicious dessert to share if you two could get together. Remember when Carlos would tend bar and fix us cyber mint juleps and Dark and Stormies ? So glad that kitty is feeling better.

Pretty soon it will be showtime!!!

Ah, those were the days. And Cap'n Sylvia Sharkbait would whip up some Dark 'n Stormies as well.

One incredible evening I remember was when we were group recapping the gran final of Juan Querendon-- Kris, Cheryl, Sylvia, Schoolmarm and me. Kris had fixed it up so we could instant message each other as the minutes rolled by and we each recapped our portion of the show.

I was insanely nervous, both as a new recapper and as a Computer-Idiot, but we were all drinking wine (this semi-teetotaler included) and talking back and forth as well as writing up our recaps. It was truly a magical evening. High as a kite afterwards, not from the wine but with relief that it was over and I hadn't messed up and ruined it.

Okay, enough with the nostalgia. On with the grand or not-so-grand finale of this one.
Cheers Patio.
