Heartbroken by the news of legendary San Francisco 49ers TE Dwight Clark "The Catch".

RIP #87!

I agree, Steve, it was very sad to see him die so young of ALS. I vividly remember "The Catch" and that game that seemed like a miracle that would never happen for 49er Faithful.

LADO – Lunes – Briefly

Karina sees Frida’s interview on TV, and Eliza and Carmen come in to watch also. Rodrigo is sent to bed.

Tomás gets a call from someone, and he also watches the interview. Warm hearted Andrés lets him cry on his shoulder.

We see Johnny and Mark’s stunned faces. Ariadna seems to only be looking at her phone but, at the very end, appears to take in what Frida is saying.

Max tells the (he thinks) sleeping J-Low she doesn’t know how much he hates her. He goes to sleep on the sofa. Later he sees her going to the storeroom. She has a complete meltdown, but Max doesn’t appear to see inside the freezer.

Eliza comes to chew out Andrés for having given 66 money. Andrés is not going to tell her why, but Tomás overhears and tells his mother Andrés did it for him.

Joel comes to tell Sofía what he found out in Mexico. Completely choked up, he tells her how wrong he was and begs her pardon. They both end up crying…and end up in bed.

Andrés tells Eliza that Tomás got into the whole thing with 66 for helping Benny.

Mauricio and Max are talking; the doctor has apparently gotten J-Low a bed in the Nut House.

Lorena tries to get Patrick to tell her where Joel is, and he tells her she’s not part of the investigation.

Carmen tries to get Eliza to spill something about why she was at Andrés’ house so late. Then, when she gets nada, says that such a discreet daughter is a cross to bear.

Joel comes home and Lorena makes a really bad move ragging on him about where he was all night. He asks her where are the documents that Márquez sent to him. When she starts to lie, he tells her that the doorman told him that he put them in her hands. He tells her he’s had it with her lies and to get out. [How I enjoyed that!]

Lado

wow, that was great little recap novelera!

yep, Lorena be gone.

Max is such a dummy, with his tunnel vision, he lives in his own little world and only sees what fits (Khotan is really doing a good job with this character, we hate him, or do we)

this was quite a moving story and once again I am impressed with Karina, and I think it was her that called Tomas.

and I worry that Frida is still in Mark's house, laughed when Ari's eyes finally popped open, did she get it this time?

I was hoping Joel would be more of a gentleman and get up and leave after he spilled to Sofia, nope, and then we hear Sofia's side, how she lived it, and lost everything including her name, 8 years in prison, almost killed by Cummings, and never getting to see her daughter grow up, (who's still on the spray wagon and didn't want to talk to her), and Joel, what did you lose?

nothing, he says (another good reason for him to leave) but he works it around to everything and chokes out that he lost Sofia, "they played us".

and it is her strength and compassion that comforts him.

so wasn't Joel's plan that if Margarita was killed they could go into the mansion and Consulate, like with a search warrant, maybe grab that flash drive from Ernie, ah but they wouldn't know who the Big Man is, the only reason I'm believing Richard that they just need a little more time is that the show is ending.

and who is the Big Man? will Max travel to Miami for work, like he did to Tijuana when they shipped the girls?

Lado

Great recap, novelera. It covered everything important with wonderful concision. Doing that so well is a real art.

I found the scene between Tomás and Andrés quite moving. In contrast, in spite of all the tears that Joel and Sofía shed, I remained unmoved. Their relationship simply doesn't work for me.

Yes, it was Karina who called Tomás to alert him to the interview with frida on TV.

And how is it possible that Max didn't look inside the (open?) freezer? Especially with J-Low pointing to it and talking about Steve.

Five more episodes to go.

"LADO":

Deb: Could either Richard or Patrick be "The Big Man" ?

Juanita: I'm so looking forward to seeing Spoiled Bratty BITCH Alondra getting her Karma.

Time for Sofia to give up on her & move on.

I did enjoy Joel chewing out Lorena.

"EL SENOR DE LOS CIELOS":

HALIMACANDY: Daddy Casilas & the posse meet with Petro 2.0, who's campaigning for Colombian President.

Nett: Castillo follows & takes pictures of El Capo & his Crew in the middle of the night.

Irene: Colon & Navarro have no clue Corina is a spy for Daddy Casilas.

Victoria: Super Javi still making out with Kashi.

Can Frida RIP

Lado

How stupid can Max be. Jen goes loco when anyone goes near that fridge. She had it chained and padlocked. She goes to it in the middle of the night babbling something about a phone and Steve...and this fool still doesn't have the sense to look inside the thing. Oops. Forgot, this is a TN and the characters are typically stupid by default.

Lado

Joel and Sofia...I turned the channel when those two where snorting and crying....not interested in that undeserved reconciliation.

Frida tells all...and the dunce Ariadna finally gets a clue...we think. Dont know what this big reveal means for Johnny and Mark legally but hopefully they go out of business. They are horrible people.

Deb...the death of Margo should have given the police an opportunity to search the foreign diplomat's house...but because the autopsy was falsified...and revealing the true report would blow their cover, Richard and Patrick cant do anything right now. They must find concrete evidence that doesn't put anyone or their operation at risk.

The big man...who is he? I sure hope it's not any of our main law enforcers..this would be a terrible blow. Max seems to much of a wussy for it to be him...but he's cowardly enough to be forced into the role. Cant wait to see who it is. But, Max being involved in this might be what it takes for Eliza to truly move on.

Steve...FYI you directed a comment at me on a other show that I'm not watching....so I can't relate to the comment.

Lado

Concerning Popsicle Steve I suspect the reason Max didn't examine the freezer is that there are 5 more episodes to go and they usually drag out a big reveal like that.

And as far as Big Man is concerned, I would cross Richard off the list. He has been protecting her since the big truck ran into the van. If he were Big Man, he'd want her dead and could easily have arranged it.

Patrick is a possibility, although I'd hate to have it be anyone on "The Team". I'd prefer someone we haven't seen in the cast so far. Also, Carlos was talking about the guy being loaded and with lots of rich guy contacts. This doesn't sound like Patrick. Someone at Interpol would have noticed him living large, you'd think.

This comment has been removed by the author.

"LADO":

Nett: I just NEVER warmed up to or trusted Patrick from the get-go. His mannerisms & Body Language have always disturbed me.

Novelera: For all we know, Telemundo might use this as a cross-over with "EL SENOR DE LOS CIELOS" & drag out the conspiracy there.

Victoria: Big question is whether Johnny & Mark get their Karma soon & get arrested by the LAPD & SWAT ?

"LADO":

Victoria: I wouldn't be shocked if Lorena tells Paula & Ernesto that "Alejandra" is Sofia & the Bad Guys up the ante in the Gran Final.

There's a good chance we're NOT getting a Happy Ending.

As for the late Steven Williams, his frozen body will still be inside the freezer at Max's Mansion. I noticed that Max called the Corrupt Doctor (who destroyed Rodrigo) & put Jennifer in the hospital or some mental institution facility.

Lado

Seriously, Steve? Just a few days ago you were saying you'd "ROTFLOL" when Frida got her "Karma." Have you finally decided she got it, or have you come around to the idea of Jonny and Mark bein the real bad guys?

And quit calling Alondra a bitch! What did she do that's so terrible?

Lado:

Novelera, thank you for your concise yet comprehensive recap.

I think that it's illogical for Richard or Patrick to be the Big Man, simply because if this were the case, Sophia would have been long dead by now, the attempt to smuggle girls into the US (which almost claimed Patrick's life) wouldn't have failed and Ernesto would have known that Interpol and FBI are listening to his conversations and would have never let them acquire evidence of him being involved in human trafficking the way the did.

I so want the Big Man to be Max, it would have been surprising yet totally logical at the same time. I remember we all wondered why, after inviting the children to Disneyland, Max suddenly couldn't go with them because he had to go on a business trip. This business trip happened to happen during the failed smuggling of the girls, if I am not mistaken . Maybe, just maybe our writers are very smart and they put a lot of clues to Max's involvement in trafficking for us to find and this is one of the clues ?
I am probably dead wrong, but a girl can hope, right?

Irene

"LADO":

I'll be amazed if DEADBEAT Max is "The Big Man" based on your theory of his secret "business trip". If that's the case, I want to see the look on Eliza, Tomas, Karina, Rodrigo's faces IF it's revealed that he's involved in the sinister conspiracy too.

The producers want to keep us guessing who "The Big Man" is. For all we know, it might be POTUS.

I plan to recap tonight's episode, and as usual, it is likely to be posted quite late.

I also see that I will NOT be able to recap next Tuesday's episode. I can probably do Monday's, but not next Tuesday's. As it happens, I think Tuesday may be the start of Sin Senos3, so it would be especially good if someone could do the recap.

Lado

Juanita, thanks for your generous offer to do Monday. That's the finale, and usually loaded.

"EL SENOR DE LOS CIELOS":

Mayra secretly recorded the phone conversation between BPN & Jaime.

She also got confronted by Zuleta, who's itching to strike.

Al Otro Lado del Muro - Capítulo 74 - Parte 1/3

After flashbacks, the episode opens with Andrés and Tomás enjoying tacos after apparently working hard at some manual labor that Andrés seems to have arranged for Tomás. If I understood correctly (never a sure thing), Tomás will work from 5 to 8 a.m. and then go off to school. [That seems rather extreme to me, especially if Tomás is supposed to pay attention in school and do well.] Andrés tells him that hard work is often a good cure for an unhappy love affair, as well as for other things. Tomás says it was hard for him to watch Frida's interview on TV. Andrés replies, if it was hard for you, imagine how difficult it was for her. Andrés admires Frida for having the courage to say what she did on television and to admit her mistakes. He praises Tomás, too, for having the courage to tell his mother the truth [about why Andrés gave money to 66]. Tomás says he still needs to do something else in order not to feel like a coward.

Sofía is in bed after a night of lovemaking with Joel. She sniffs a rose that Joel apparently left for her with a note saying "I love you." She tells the note "I love you, too." The phone rings. It's Ernesto, asking her whether she can be at the consulate in an hour. He has a meeting he'd like her to attend.

Paula is back to spraying Alondra, this time with a somewhat stronger spray. Paula says it's too bad that things don't seem to be working out between Alo and Alberto, and that he's already left Los Angeles, but not to worry: Paula has thought of a way to get him to return to see Alo. Just then, Ernesto appears. He tells Paula he doesn't want her to accompany him to the meeting, but instead to prepare a report on something or other.

Joel asks Lorena what she did with the matierial Dr. Marquez sent. Lorena claims she doesn't know who Marquez is nor what materials Joel is referring to. Joel reminds her who Marquez is and tells her that what he sent were documents proving that Sofía did not kill Irene. Realizing that Joel already knows what she was trying to keep from him, Lorena admits that she destroyed the documents. She tells Joel that everything she did, she did because she loves him. Furious, Joel tells her she has 10 minutes to leave his house. She should take the first plane to Bogotá and never again enter his house or his life. Otherwise, he'll press charges against her for obstruction of justice, destruction of evidence, and complicity in a child trafficking network.

Max tells Charlie that Jennifer needs to be hospitalized for a while. Charlie says he's said that she's sick, but he admits that she frightened him, he was afraid that she would hurt Rodrigo or Eliza. He asks Max whether they can go visit Rodrigo. Max explains that he and Eliza are in the process of divorce and it might not be the best time to visit. Charlie says it must be hard on Max, too. Max is surprised at how mature Charlie has become. Charlie reminds him that he's almost 14.

At the meeting at the consulate, Ernesto talks again about his support for immigrants and his admiration for Jessy. "Todos somos Jessy," he says for the umpteenth time, and for the umpteenth time, his audience picks up the chant. Alejandra is there taking photos.

Richard tells Joel that they're close to being able to arrest Paula. They're analyzing the autopsy report, and they may be able to charge her with Margarita's murder.

Lado - Cap. 74 - Parte 2/3

A TV cameraman and an interviewer watch and film as Johnny Garza gets into a car with Ariadna. They approach the car, and the interviewer asks him whether what Frida has said about him is true, did he sleep with Frida, did he obligate her to sleep with other men, did he make sure that all doors would be closed to her, etc. Johnny denies each accusation. He says that Frida is just a crazy, immature girl who is using her 15 minutes of fame to get the attention of the sensationalist media (medios amarillistas). "I'm one of the most famous producers," he says. "I don't have to force anyone to have relations with me. There are lots of women more attractive than her who would die to be with me."
Ariadna says nothing, but when Johnny says he won't answer any more questions, Ariadna suddenly says "What Fri said is true. Lots of things happened in this house that the press has to find out about." Frida has been watching all this on TV, and when Ariadna finally speaks up, Frida smiles.

Tomás comes to see Max. He tells Max "I was the one who entered your house to rob it." Max asks why he did that. Tomás explains that he was involved with people he shouldn't have been. He had thought it would be a simple robbery, but then Max returned and Charlie appeared, and everything became more complicated. Max reminds him that he had a pistol with him. Tomás said he didn't want it, but they made him take it. If he didn't, they would have gone into the house, and Tomás was afraid they might hurt Charlie. He says he knows he did wrong, he's not making excuses. If Max wants to turn him in to the police, he'll understand and accept it. They continue talking. Max asks Tomás to forgive him. He abandoned the family for ten years, he wasn't there when Tomás needed him.
Max and Tomás admit that they both acted stupidly, and they embrace. Max asks whether Tomás has told Eliza what he did. When Tomás replies that he hasn't had the courage, Max asks him not to do so, to keep it a secret between the two of them. He doesn't want Eliza to suffer more. He vows to be a good father.

Richard plays for Joel the conversations that Sofía captured by leaving her phone recording in Ernesto's office. Joel asks Richard whether he knew that she was planning to marry Ernesto. No, replies Richard. She's undoubtedly doing it to protect Alondra. They listen to the rest of the recording, the part where Don Carlos tells Ernesto they'll need virgins 14-18 years of age for a planned auction for some VIP clients. Ernesto talks about all the resources he has to identify people, and Carlos says this will please Big Man. Richard and Joel agree that they need to find out who Big Man is.

Ernesto, standing with Alondra, Julián, and Alejandra, sings Alejandra's praises to the audience at a later meeting that day at the consulate. He announces that Alejandra has agreed to marry him. He makes this announcement just as Paula arrives. Paula is clearly not pleased. But there's more. Ernesto goes on to say that his close associate, Paula Duarte, will be leaving to assume new responsibilities at the consulate in Sydney, Australia. "Let's have a round of applause for Paula."

Lado - Cap. 74 - Parte 3/3

At the dinner table, Eliza awkwardly starts to tell her children that she and Andrés are getting married. Rod is clearly not pleased. Andrés explains that they are getting married to deal with the citizenship problem. Max enters, unseen, as the family is talking about the marriage plans. Eliza takes him into the bakery to talk. He's clearly surprised and upset. Lots of predictable conversation ensues between them. Max tells Eliza that Jennifer is no longer an obstacle, and that she's in a psychiatric hospital.

We get a brief glimpse of Jennifer asleep in the hospital. She wakes up and gives her great bug-eyed look of terror, thinking she sees Steve sitting in a chair at the foot of her bed. "Steve, what are you doing here?" she asks. He holds his phone out to her and says, "You don't think to make the call?" (¿No piensas hacer la llamada?"). We hear a bit of Für Elise once again.

Paula is packing up the things in her office. Ernesto comes in and apologizes for not consulting with her before announcing her departure. "Do you have any idea what you did?" she asks him. "Do you have even the slightest idea what you did?" She says she's not talking about his abrupt, humilliating announcement, nor is she talking about his marrying another woman (she points out that he's already done that to her twice before). So what is she upset about? "You broke my heart--because I love you." End of episode.

"LADO":

Juanita: Nice to see the ghost of Steven Williams driving Jennifer nuts!

Lado

With paula sufficiently scorned...is she likely to turn on the syndicate. Maybe not because her hands are so dirty...shes in it deep. Is she likely to kill Alo or Sofia out of anger....interesting.

Lorena is a wild card. Shes done her share of dirt but does she hate Joe and Sofia enuf to add to her misdeeds and risk prosecution....lets see.

Max...still dont know why he didnt look in that fridge...but maybe its for Jen to confess herself. Im sure enjoying her anvil. She does crazy well.

Max the coward can only now say Jen is not a factor to eliza....not because he manned up and stood up to her...but because shes in a looney bin and cant fight him. Eliza shld see this as another cowardly act of abandonment and kick him to the curb. Not advocating for jen but max has no balls to face anything.

Lado

thanks so much Juanita! you do such a nice job with these!

Joel made it pretty clear to Lorena, a number of times, that he wanted her out of there, but she never made a move toward the door.

and Max is mysteriously drawn to the freezer, but doesn't look.

there have been a number of times when I actually like Max, like when he talks to his kids, but it rarely lasts for more than 5 minutes, like last night he then doesn't call ahead to Eliza, doesn't knock on the door, but walks right in on the family dinner.

and Joel having a hissy fit, because he had spent the night with Sofia and the first he hears of her marriage to Ernesto is at a news conference, well for starters he heard about it from her phone recording.

Paula has a heart?

"LADO":

Deb: Paula will likely go down in bloodthirsty ways somehow because she's obsessed with Ernesto & power.

I just do NOT see her going to the Mexican Consulate General in Sydney, Australia at all.

Nett: Can Sofia take off that stupid blonde wig ?

"EL SENOR DE LOS CIELOS":

1.) Mayra likely will NOT make it alive if Zuleta catches her because she almost got caught TWICE inside BPN's office by placing a recording cell phone device under the mat thingy on his desk. It recorded BPN talking to Jaime about the latest escapade at Jaime's residence.

2.) Navarro & Corina clashed once again when she places the picture of Navarro's kids in his face. She's the DOUBLE AGENT!

3.) Ambar & her Venezuelan Army sidekick are upping the ante this time going to Havana, Cuba to meet with former Cuban President Raul Castro (or the Castro look-alike).

4.) Daddy Casilas & his Posse also going to Cuba as well.

5.) Colon is still an IDIOT! He's being played for a fool by Corina, who's making the DEA look incompetent.

6.) BPN, Jaime, another female prostitute & another male prostitute have sex... Fast Forward.

7.) Castillo manages to escape out of the sticky situation of nearly getting whacked by El Capo's Posse.

8.) Kashi leaving Colombia ?

9.) Melina appears to want to tell Ritula what's really going on, but I'm beeting Melina the Lesbian Doctor will NOT be among the living in all likelihood.

10.) General Casaloba & the FARC Leader Dude join Daddy Casilas on the flight to Cuba.

11.) GrandMommy Casilas getting into a hissy fit with Ishmael.

12.) The Female TV News Anchor has the phone conversation of BPN & Jaime in her hands. Mayra & Castillo are at the News Station.

Lado

Another fantastic recap, Juanita. You described it all perfectly.

I really enjoyed the scene with Max and Tomás. It’s not good for Tomate (as Karina calls him – so cute) to bear such a grudge against his father. He adored him when he was a little boy and was rightly furious about the abandonment. But, last week of the show, it’s time for some forgiveness.

I would have preferred that Max just accept Eliza’s plans to marry Andrés and gracefully bow out. Eliza rightly told him that he abandoned her twice: once 10 years ago and once again deciding to go back to Jennifer (of course it was to protect Eliza from the Nutcase). But galanes in telenovelas never give up the woman easily.

Dare we hope that Paula never gets to set foot in Ernesto’s house again? I can’t bear any more spraying of Alondra and can’t wait for our feisty tomboy to return. It’s typical of Ernesto’s narcissism that he can’t even notice the complete change in his daughter and the fact that she looks drugged all the time.

So Steve showed up at the Looney Bin. But, did I see the scene correctly? I thought J-Low was putting the thoughts she had in his “ghost” and had him urging her to escape to harm Eliza.

Deb, loved “Paula has a heart?” Perfect!

I’m not going to be happy if Joel lights into Sofía about her plan to marry Ernesto. He needs to get over himself and realize that almost any mother would marry the devil himself to protect her child.

Yep, we did not actually see Lorena leave. I’d like it if that scene where she got what was coming to her (verbally at least) was the end of it. But maybe her treachery about letting Paula’s matones know that the FBI was at Pier 24 will come to the surface and she’ll be send to prison.

"LADO":

Novelera: Something tells me Lorena will tell Paula or Ernesto that Sofia is "Alejandra". She's going to be around until at least the Gran Final.

As for Alondra: I do NOT see the tomboy stuff coming back anytime soon. Paula might spray her some more & up the spraying dosage.

We're waiting for the reveal of "The Big Man". It could be either Patrick, Richard (not ruling out either of these law enforcement guys) or possibly DEADBEAT Max based on his obsession of Eliza, etc.,

Big question is whether they'll reveal "The Big Man" in the final seconds of the Gran Final next week ?

Lado

Many thanks, deb and novelera, for your thanks and your great comments. deb, I too loved your "Paula has a heart?" novelera, I think the only thing we saw from "Steve" in this episode (as opposed to the avances) was his seeming to offer his phone to J-Low and his remark about making the call. I confess that I don't understand why Telemundo now slides seamlessly from the episode into the avances and then offers a quick second avance. Very confusing.

novelera, I like your description of Ernesto's narcissism. To be fair, though, Ernesto has noticed the change in Alondra, but from his point of view, the change is all good. Alo now claims she loves him, she dresses the way he likes, and behaves as he thinks she should (most of the time). What we in Viewerville regard as a nightmare is for Ernesto more like a dream come true.

Lado

I'll try and do the recap tonight.

LADO

How utterly obnoxious and disgusting Max is flinging J-Low over the cliff and saying she won't be an obstacle (like she's dead).

LADO

Now we can definitely tell that the writers didn't have enough meat left in the story ,thus all the flashlights, one every 10-15 minutes.

Lado #75 1/2

wow, good show, touching from a lot of different angles.

Paula/Ernesto

Paula pleads her case, she loves Ernesto, that's why she has forsaken her career, to be with him, to stand in his shadow, to make their successes as one, Ernesto admits, I couldn't have gotten where I am without your help, but..., it was always your decision, Paula knows Alejandra asked him to do it, she'll go to Carlos, it was Carlos that is sending you to Sydney Ernie adds, that pulls the rug out from under her, Ernesto tries to soften the blow, when I am president I will get you back on my team, Paula isn't buying it, says she will do what she has to, Ernesto wants to knw what that means, she plays the woman doing what she is told, will buy her ticket and begone tonight. (hmm, a serial killer with a broken heart talking to a crooked politician)

Joel/Sofia

Joel whines about Sofia's impending marriage, (anyone listening), and while they talk Paula is probably planning, (yep, she is later on the phone with Pastrana), so they get back to business, Joel explains about the USB Ernie wears around his neck (didn't Sofia listen to her own recording?) and he has a plan to get it, he pulls out a small metal box.

Jen/Steve

the imaginary Steve is now on team Jen, yep it was Eliza's fault he's dead, but you can still do something about it, he hands her the phone, make the call, 911, but there is no phone, and where is Steve?

Max/Eliza

Max just doesn't get that Eliza's marriage to Andres is to get her legal status, he wants more time to prove to her that he will make things right, talks of the kids, (anyone listening) as he is moving closer, turning up the sexual tension, and it shows on Eliza, but she shuts him down, she won't disrespect Andres.

Ernesto is sure Paula won't cause any problems, he and Ale celebrate, he breaks out the champagne, she entices him to have a drink, moving on to the kissing, he passes out, hmm,

Joel's plan part 1- Sofia was wearing a ring that held a drug that could be absorbed through the skin and would cause a condition known as Syncope, resulting in a loss of consciouness, similar to blacking out from drinking, next, the small box was a miniature harddrive to which Sofia downloaded his USB, but I think the data is encrypted so it will take a while to recover.

Sofia is up and dressed the next morning, awakens Ernie who has a hangover, she is leaving so as not to be a bad example for his kids, praises him for the marvelous night, and oh, could I take Alondra with me to Palm Springs for a couple of days, I want to meet with the best wedding dress designer she knows.

Eliza is still wound up about Max, Karina gets her to talk and comforts her, Karina thinks of Max now as more of a visitor, who will not always be around, but Andres will.

Lado #75 2/2

Alo doesn't want to go anywhere with Ale, Ernie asks her to do it for him, that works, he and Julian will be on the golf course, oh, he's not here?

Julian is in Tijuana, he rings Raquel's doorbell, and confesses, wow, considering Raquel almost died, they look at him like dirt, he hands them the check for $40K, Santi hands it back, Raquel grabs it, she'll take it, of course Julian has no good excuses, he changed when he met this girl, Karina.

Eliza shows up at the construction site, is that a loving look in her eyes as she watches Andres work, she has brought food, Andres will clean up and get Tomas.

Joel's plan part 2- Sofia arrives at her place with Alo, what?, Alo flips, a doc sedates her, Sofia ponders what she will say to Alo when she awakens, wise Joel (who is floating around) tells her to simply be her mother, and according to Joel the scopolamina will stay in her body for quite awhile.

Alo awakes confused, Sofia by her side, who are you?, where am I? she can't remember things, but she does remember Paula drugging her, Sofia starts slow, showing pics of the Alo she was, ah but the brilliant part, Eliza (who was not involved in any of Paula's programming) shows up, Alo recognizes her and can remember growing up with her, their love for each other cracks through her suspicions, Eliza tells her there is a person who loves you even more, yes, Alo can see, mama... the tears flow, (mine).

"LADO":

Deb: Steven's ghost being EVIL & joining Jennifer's schemes ?

Sounds like the producers are setting US up with something in regards to likely escape from the Looney bin.

"EL SENOR DE LOS CIELOS":

HALIMACANDY: Daddy Casilas confronts former Cuban President Raul Castro 2.0, who's in the hospital hooked up to an oxygen tank.

Lado

The whole sequence with Jen talking to herself/Steve and the phone was confusing. I took it to mean she was gong to try to call ICE again on Eliza...but an escape would be more interesting.

Eliza is irritating....why does it take Karina and Carmen to state the obvious about Andreas...before she sees it for herself. At least she appears to be coming around now. Glad Max's weak protest went no where. He's a day late and a dollar short. NOW he wants to step up and protect them. Where was this will when Jen was in the picture. Again, not impressed that he can be so helpful with Jen in the looney bin. She's still his wife....but now he can abandon her assuming she can't fight back.

I hold out that the Big Man is not one of the law enforcement guys we already know. If so, they could have already easily sabotaged or bumped off the good guys. But it feels logical that the Big Man is someone we might already know. It could be Max but he seems to weak to keep a ruthless empire like trafficking go...but maybe it is him. Could Paula be the Big Man? Who else could it be....that we already know?

The only thing Julian can do to make things right is to set things in motion for Raquel's name to be cleared. Giving her money is not the answer...unless she's to use it to get a good lawyer to clear her name. Now that she and Santi have proof that it was Julian...they should go to the authorities and tell them what they know. We're at the part in the TN that this could work.

So...will Paula and Lorena both be around till the end to get revenge ...the issue is...how effective will their efforts be. Paula can do the most damage but again, she risk bringing down herself. Lorena can harm Sofia the most by reveling who she is to the bad guys.

Glad to see Alo coming out of her drugged and comatose state. Missed her feisty character and spunk.

Thanks so much, deb, for the terrific recap. I loved your asides ("serial killer with a broken heart talks to a crooked politician").

I really enjoyed this episode. I hurriedly watched about half, then watched the first half of the Warriors/Cavaliers game before having to leave for Spanish class. I about wore out my remote, but I was maximizing viewing time. When the Warriors game had a time-out and commercials, I switched to the recorded Lado, and vice versa.

Television before the age of DVR's was way too time consuming. [Although I may have urged Steph Curry to help carry Alondra out of the room or asked Richard and Patrick for some help guarding LeBron.]

When I got back from class I watched the second half of the game and then, because I liked the episode so much, watched the whole TN.

There were so many endearing moments for me. I liked Andrés mock sniffing his armpits and referring to his smelling like a lion. [Incidentally I don't understand why Andrés is now a construction worker; thought the plan was to keep Tomás working hard and repaying his debt.]

I was terrified Paula was going to have Pastrana kidnap Alondra.

Joel quickly got over his snit about Alejandra's plan to marry Ernesto. Her explanation was interesting. SHE is Sofía Villavicencio; and Alejandra Miranda will be the one marrying Ernesto. But the plan with the drug and the gadget to download the USB drive was brilliant. Especially Ale complimenting Ernie on his prowess in bed!

Gee, I hope they go with J-Low not being able to get out of the nut house. Imaginary Steve only urged her to call (presumably ICE) and not to get out and kill Eliza.

Yep, bringing Eliza to help de-program Alondra was a very wonderful and touching moment.

Kudos to the actor playing Paula. As I said, I watched her scene twice. She was very, very good.

thanks novelera!

I too was worried about Alondra, I thought Paula might just take her along when she left, all she would have to do would be to tell her to come.

I was hoping Sofia would take her to a safe house where they couldn't be found, but instead she takes her to her place.

kind of strange that Joel instantly became the wise man and even stranger is Richard complimenting him which had Patrick scratching his head and me wondering if any of the 3 is the big man, this was too easy getting all the evidence.

What a marvellous recap, deb! You've again combined very helpful details with the charm and humor that make your recaps special. Needless to say, I loved your asides: "(hmm, a serial killer with a broken heart talking to a crooked politician)" and the repeated "(anyone listening)."

Yes, that sure seemed to be a loving look when Eliza watched Andrés (it's about time!).

I was somewhat shocked (hmmm...can one be somewhat shocked?) when Joel's team grabbed Alondra and carried her off. That must have been terrifying for her. I guess the point is that she needed more than just time to get over the effect of the drug. They needed to do detox. Looks as if it's working.

All Paula has to do is say "Pastrana" and I get nervous. I can't decide whether she's ordering him to kill Alejandra or kidnap (and possibly kill) Alondra. Fortunately, there are only three episodes left.

thanks so much Juanita!
you always have such nice things to say.

"LADO":

Juanita: I think Pastrana will go after Alondra or Sofia or possibly maybe Eliza.

Nett: I see Jennifer calling ICE again. The Corrupt Doctor will NEVER get his Karma anytime soon.

Deb: I'm going to ROFLOL if they reveal "The Big Man" in the final seconds of Monday's Gran Final & it'll go black saying, "To Be Continued".

LADO

Steve: Please no. A last minute "to be continued" will be hard for this very impatient watcher.
I don't think any of the existing characters are the Big Man.
Wow--cult deprogramming! I haven't heard of that in ages!!
