Al otro lado del muro - Capítulo 78 (Gran Final) - Parte 1 de 3

At the start, there are lots of flashbacks from the previous episode, ending with Eliza's seeing Steve's body in the freezer, screaming, and getting struck on the head by Jennifer. We then see Jennifer talk to Popsicle Steve, asking him to help her. "I brought you Eliza, the love of your life," she tells him."I didn't get her deported, I didn't do anything. I'll help you. Steve, answer me." Eliza regains consciousness as Jennifer is having this "conversation." Recognizing that Jen is, um, preoccupied, Eliza makes a break for it. She runs, but Jen quickly realizes that Eliza is gone and runs after her, grabbing a large piece of wood along the way. She catches up to Eliza at the pool. Eliza tells her, "Max loves you. You've always been his only love. Call Max." Eliza tells her that she, Eliza, will disappear, and Jennifer will have everything she wants: Max, Charlie, Rodrigo, the family she's always dreamed of. It almost seems as if Jen is persuaded, but then she remembers that when she was in the hospital, "Steve" told her it was Eliza's fault and asked her whether she was going to let Eliza continue to take advantage of her. Jen then pushes Eliza into the pool and jumps in to try to drown her. We see Eliza apparently lose consciousness in the water.

The scene shifts to the standoff in Miami. Paula complains that more than 10 minutes have passed and the helicopter she demanded has not arrived. Joel explains that the arrangements will take more time. Paula angrily responds, "I don't have more time!" She then orders the guy who is holding a gun to Sofía's head to kill her. At that very moment, the FBI sharpshooter gets that guy in his sights and takes him down. Sofía grabs the gun from the fallen guy while Joel jumps on Pastrana. The two of them wrestle. We hear a gun go off and Pastrana seems to stop wrestling and fall away, presumably dead. I assume that he was killed as he and Joel struggled for the gun that Pastrana had been holding. (Though Sofía now has a gun, she's not pointing it in Pastrana's direction when we hear a gun go off.) Paula runs out of the room but is cornered by two policemen with guns drawn. She reluctantly gives herself up.

Max and Andrés arrive at Max's house, calling for Eliza. They go to the pool and see Jennifer trying to drown Eliza. Max carries Eliza out of the pool and starts trying to revive her while Andrés holds Jen down. She screams at Max to let Eliza die.

Back in Miami, Sofía asks Alondra whether anyone has harmed her, and if they have, she shouldn't be quiet about it. Alo assures her that she's OK. "What I experienced was horrible," she tells her mother, "but I can't imagine how many girls have suffered because of my father and Paula." She thanks Sofía for saving her. Just then, the police lead a handcuffed Paula out of the house. Sofía comes over to her and taunts her: "I'm free, and you'll be spending the rest of your life in prison." An exultant Richard comes out of the house and announces that 304 girls were rescued in 10 cities throughout the country, thanks to Sofía. Alo asks whether they've arrested her father. Richard tells her that doing so is difficult, since Ernesto has diplomatic immunity, "but we're going to get him."

Four armed, scary-looking guys come looking for Ernesto at his house [doesn't the diplomatic immunity apply there?]. They move through the house searching for him, but their movements make them look silly, as if they're trying to keep in step in a badly choreographed dance. They finally come upon Julián and Karina in the living room. Julián tells him that Ernesto has fled.

lado - Cap. 78 (Gran Final) - Parte 2 de 3

Rod, Charlie, Carmen, and Tomás are at the table in Andrés' house. Rod asks why they can't leave. Charlie asks whether there's something Carmen isn't telling them. Carmen gives them one of her non-answers. Tomás gets a phone call from Andrés. "What??!" he says in astonishment.

The police arrive at Max's. One policeman starts questioning Andrés. Andrés explains that he's the fiancé of Eliza Romero, and that her ex-husband is the owner of the house. He's the one the cop should talk to. The cop, however, wants to start with Andrés. Meanwhile, Max is caring for Eliza. Eliza is upset about Steve. He was such a nice guy and didn't deserve this. She feels what happened to him is somehow her fault (huh?). Max assures her that she's not in any way to blame. He then asks whether Eliza now sees why he (Max) acted as he did, why he distanced himself from Eliza when Jen threatened to call ICE. Max was trying to protect Eliza. He continues, "All these years, I wanted to tell her to go to hell, but I couldn't, because I couldn't leave a sick Charlie with that crazy woman." We've heard all this before. The one thing Max says that I don't recall having heard before is that at one time Jen told him that Steve was in the freezer, but he didn't believe her, he assumed she was hallucinating. Max points out that Jen can't hurt Eliza any more, and he pleads for a second chance. He pleads, too, that she not marry Andrés. As he's saying all this, we see Andrés standing outside the room, hearing the conversation.

Max's impassioned discussion with Eliza ends when the policeman comes to talk to Max. He takes Max to another room. Andrés then comes and tells Eliza that he knows she has to make a decision, and she's free to make whatever decision she feel is best. He tells her he loves her, but it's a love made of small things: bread, flour, sugar, work, birthdays, times with the family. He says he can promise the deep love he has for her--it's hers if she wants it. There will be good moments, bad moments, hopefully more good than bad. She then has lots of flashbacks--of Max and the passion she felt for him, and then lots more flashbacks, this time of Andrés and all the ways Andrés has been there for her. She finally responds with a simple "Gracias, Andrés," leaving Viewerville wondering what she will decide.

We then move to "Seven Days Later." Julián comes to see Tomás about a job. Tomás tries to explain what he does and what a job like his entails. Julián nods affirmatively, as if he understands, but it's clear that he doesn't [nor, frankly, do I, but....]

Rod and Charlie are dressed in suits for Eliza's wedding. Rod gives Charlie a notebook in which he can list what he wants to do in the next 100 years. Rod reminds him that #1 on the list will be "kiss a girl."

Both Karina and Alondra are excited about the wedding. Eliza tells them that her greatest happiness is to see her family united. Alondra gives Eliza a letter from Sofía. She regrets that she can't be at the wedding, but she needs to be in Miami to finish up the business about the human trafficking network. However, though she can't be physically present, her friendship, her gratitude, and the love she has for Eliza will be with her at her wedding. She hopes to see Eliza in Miami. Alondra has airplane tickets and hotel reservations for Eliza for her honeymoon.

Joel gives Sofía a document from the US Justice Department telling her that her name--Sofía Villavicencio--has been completely cleared.

lado - Cap. 78 (Gran Final) - Parte 3 de 3

Richard receives an award for having dismantled one of the worst child trafficking networks in the history of the United States. He thanks his co-workers in English and then switches to Spanish to thank "a very strong and special woman," Sofía.

The scene shifts to Paula in prison. She looks around apprehensively at her fellow prisoners. She takes off her clothes to take a shower. One of the other prisoners asks why she's alone. She then tells Paula that Paula was part of the organization that stole her daughter from her and sold her ten years ago. Paula tries to move away from the woman, but the other prisoners won't let her. The woman [I'm not sure, but she may be the woman who shot Cummings] then starts hitting Paula with a club. She hits her hard and repeatedly. I wouldn't be surprised if she kills her, but we're not told.]

Back at the wedding, Carmen asks Tomás about Frida. He says he's afraid she'll reject him. Carmen says "I have a present for you," and here comes Frida. She tells him that because he went to the karaoke bar, she thought perhaps there was still a chance for them. He asks her to forgive him. They Kiiiissssss.

And finally, the wedding. Until just about the last moment, we don't see a groom, and so there's the possibility of Eliza's having chosen...ah, but she didn't. She has finally come to her senses and is marrying Andrés. He tells her "I continue to love you as I've loved you all this time. The love of little things. This love that I dream about at night." In return, she tells him, "I love you with all my heart. And I love you with the love of little things, which is what makes love greater, stronger." She tells him that this love was growing inside her without her knowing it, until suddenly one day it hit her: "He's the love of my life!" Rod yells out, "So kiss her already!"

Jennifer is not back in the hospital from which she escaped. Instead, she seems to be in a prison or hospital for the criminally insane, where a sign proclaims "Communication with any inmate is strictly prohibited." Jen is still filled with hatred for Eliza, whom she blames for depriving her of her family and of Max. She also seems to hear "Für Elise" all the time, and all she can do is continually scream "Be quiet!"

Ernesto seems at first to have succeeded in getting away. He's sitting outside at a resort talking on the phone with Don Carlos. He assures Don C that the money is safe, and that "we will be fine, don't worry." Oops. Someone brings him a drink but then doesn't go away. Ernesto asks the guy what he wants. The guy is Patrick, who shows him his badge and recites Ernesto's rights as he handcuffs him. [Apparently the resort is located somewhere where Ernesto doesn't have diplomatic immunity.]

Joel and Sofía are enjoying the beach in Miami. Sofía mentions that Eliza must be getting married right now. Joel suggests that they do the same thing. He tells Sofía, "I could find a judge right away if you want. We could have a hippie wedding on the beach." But Sofía doesn't want to get married, she wants to use this free afternoon to just go back to the hotel, watch a movie, and relax." "And make love," adds Joel. "And eat. And make love. And eat. And make love." They enjoy a long kiss, but suddenly Sofía's eye focuses on something. Joel asks what's the matter. Sofiía replies, "That man is bothering that young girl" (Ese hombre está fastidiando a esa niña). Sofía heads over to where the man and the girl are. "So much for a free afternoon," says Joel, as he follows after her. FIN

"LADO":

Juanita: My personal thoughts on the Gran Final.

1.) Happy for Eliza & Andres: she FINALLY came to her senses.

2.) No Karma for the Corrupt Doctor, Julian, Benny & 66.

3.) We NEVER found out who "The Big Man" was. Shame they left it altogether SMH.

4.) I believe it's likely Paula got beaten to death. Karma is a BIGLY bitch.

5.) Alondra was barefoot the entire time the FBI rescued her & 304 other girls in Miami. I was thinking: "Get Alondra some shoes for God's sake."

6.) Sofia & Joel getting their love fest in Miami, FL.

7.) Richard gets honored for bringing down the human trafficking Syndicate.

8.) Patrick arrests Ernesto at some fancy resort. I KNEW that diplomatic immunity wasn't going to last.

9.) Raquel & Santiago still living sweet somewhere in Mexico with their daughter.

10.) Charles living with Rodrigo, Karina, Tomas, Carmen, Andres & Eliza now ?

11.) Julian gets a job in the construction industry ?

12.) Tomas & Frida back together. At least we never got to listen to her boring only 1 hit wonder again.

13.) Pastrana likeky was killed by Joel. Justice for Irene has been served.

14.) Was the Old Man either "The Big Man" or possibly someone who looked like Cummings' cousin.

15.) Jennifer in the crazy house ROFLOL. I went ROFLOLZ at her going nuts over "Fur Elise" being played over & over.

16.) I'm assuming LAPD thawed out Steven's body for the autopsy to be performed.

17.) Carmen still has a VISA to stay in the United States or did she become a US citizen later on ?

18.) Karina & Alondra the best of besties :)

19.) Deadbeat Max moved on to his business ventures or whatever he was doing.

20.) They should've had the Gran Final at least 2 full hours.

21.) I'll post the final Body Count later this afternoon.

Lado:

Juanita, thank you for a great recap. I felt like I was reading the last chapter of a novel. You undeniably are a very talented writer.
I especially loved the following lines:
" Recognizing that Jen is, um, preoccupied, Eliza makes a break for it"
"Four armed, scary-looking guys come looking for Ernesto at his house [doesn't the diplomatic immunity apply there?]"
" their movements make them look silly, as if they're trying to keep in step in a badly choreographed dance"
"Until just about the last moment, we don't see a groom, and so there's the possibility of Eliza's having chosen...ah, but she didn't"

I have very ambivalent feelings about this final. While I am happy that Eliza married Andres(like Nett, I feared she would be dumb enough to give Max another chance), I hated just about everything else.
But before I go into the details of my disappointment, I would like to address the subject of diplomatic immunity that the writers clearly don't understand.
Ernesto is a Consul, not an Ambassador, so he does not have and never had diplomatic immunity. He only has a very limited Consular immunity which is a functional immunity. This immunity protects him from criminal jurisdiction of the host country only in case of offenses directly relating to his consular functions. It means that in any other case, he may be arrested or detained (pursuant to a warrant, of course), subpoenaed and prosecuted. Unlike what was implied in this telenovela, his residence may be searched (again, with a search warrant).
The writers didn't do their research and mistakenly applied the concept of diplomatic immunity here. And they didn't even apply it correctly, as you aptly noted! Of course, Ernesto's residence shouldn't have been searched if he had diplomatic immunity and of course he shouldn't have been arrested.
The only explanation that I can come up to explain this blatant violation of the (wrong) international law is that maybe Mexico waived Ernesto's diplomatic immunity off screen.
A country can always choose to waive diplomatic immunity of a diplomat, however it rarely happens.

Another thing that could have happened is that Ernesto was actually arrested at the behest of the Mexican government, to be tried in Mexico. This is also possible, since the immunity only means that the diplomat can't be prosecuted under the host country's laws. The diplomat's own country can prosecute him at will (according to it's own laws, of course).

Of course, Ernesto's arrest only happened because somehow he was dumb enough to flee to a country that has extradition agreement with the US/Mexico.

Irene

Lado:

Now I am going to whine and rumble about how disappointed I am with this finale.

First of all, a lot of people that deserved to be punished received no punishment whatsoever and it bothers me a lot, considering that countless episodes consisted mostly of flashbacks.
I ask the writers why, instead of flashbacks, didn't they craft deserving punishments to 66, Benny, Lorena, the transplant doctor, Johnny, Mark and Carlos?

I am disappointed that Thomas and Julian didn't pay for their crimes. Granted, they are not the villains of this story, but I just can't conform with them living happily ever after when one killed one person, injured another person and caused the deportation of a third and the other committed a violent armed robbery, held a child at gun point and almost killed said child, terrifying both said child and an innocent housekeeper (not to mention transported countless packages of drugs and supplied Johnny and Mark with drugs that were used to rape several young girls).

I am upset that Joel and Sophia never found out that Lorena didn't just find the phone, but was the one that sent the messages and thus is directly responsible for the failure of the operation and Patrick's nearly fatal injury.
I wanted her to get a significant jail time and to be the one to give Paula beatings every single day. But I guess the writers think that losing Joel is a punishment worse that maximum security prison.

I am pissed off that Sophia chose to leave Alondra after such a horrible ordeal to boink the man that was responsible for 8 hellish years of her and Alondra's life.

I can't stand that Julian has everything and lives a happy life with Karina, while Raquel and Santiago have to watch Andres' wedding from Mexico.

I agree with Steve completely, all that mystery about the Big Man and we didn't get to find out who he is! And why wasn't don Carlos apprehended?

And what happened to Max? All that time showing him down our throats and now we don't even know what happened to him?
Oh well, in my version of this telenovela, he is the Big Man and he gets caught together with Carlos and sent to Mexican prison.

I knew, of course, that Sophia and Joel will end up together, but I just can't stand it. I can't imagine a woman that would be capable of staying with someone that ruined her life to such an extent. And he didn't even apologize properly for what he did.

I am happy with Andres and Eliza getting married, but I wish that the writers would have used the time they wasted on flashbacks and on Frida's one song to actually throw in some moments/conversations/nice gestures between Eliza and Andres. Her realization that she loves Andres would have been less out of the blue and more logical and understandable.

This telenovela often frustrated me with its dumb and cowardly galans, endless flashbacks, unnecessary characters, lack of logic and wasted opportunities, but I ended up watching every episode, mostly because of this community of dedicated recappers and insightful commenters. Thank you so much for everything and may we meet again!

Irene

Lado

I don't have time for a detailed comment, Juanita, but I do want to weigh in with a hearty thanks for your terrific, well written finale. Both last and first episodes are hard to recap. You did a splendid job!

I was also disappointed there was no Big Man reveal. I even thought for a second or two that the grey haired guy who was approaching the little girl might have been him.

LADO

Quick thoughts.

So another giant mystery left hanging. Who the heck is Big Man?? It's kind of like what happened to Benjamin Almonte's watch/ring that Juventino stole in LQLVMR.

Is this just sloppy writing, sloppy editing/cutting, or sloppily overlooked?
These little details drive me and my OCD crazy!

And I can't believe that not only did Sofia leave her newly found daughter to go to Miami for days/weeks/months? on end to enjoy beach life with Joel; moreover, she also didn't attend the wedding of her very best, trustworthy friend Eliza. I thought that was a really bad plotline. If I had a friend like Eliza who risked life and limb to raise, cloth, and feed my daughter for a decade and also helped save my life, I'd sure as hell go see her married to the man of our dreams--thank goodness NOT Max with his last minute plea (in a sexual content only), not as a companion or friend, just a sex object.

Now I can't name our new puppy, coming in July, Maximiliano -- Max for short. All because the image of that SOB coward in my head...

More later.

clothe not cloth, sorry.

Lado

wow, thanks Juanita, such a nice recap you put together!

yep, this wasn't the best gran final, too much Max, and so sad, Raquel, Santi, and Maria watching the wedding from Tijuana (was it Rod that was doing the filming), while Julian is happy and smiling, was Alo checking out the cute girls with him at the wedding?

ah but it did have a good ending, when they said "FIN", as in not "to be continued".

Lado

I'm really pressed for time today, but I do appreciate all the feedback from Steve, Irene, novelera, Victoria, and deb. I agree that the ending was far from perfect and left most of us somewhat unsatisfied, but I strongly agree with deb: "ah but it did have a good ending, when they said "FIN", as in not "to be continued"."

Juanita – a wonderfully written recap! Thank you so much!

I was surprised and happy that a major telenovela trope got blasted away in this final. For once, they challenged the concept of the Amor de Tu Vida, that only person, apparently fated, that you can truly love in your life. The one where the theme music kicks in at first sight, the one you go through hell and high water for, and then marry in the last episode. Max wasn’t the worst person on the planet, but he wasn’t amor de su vida material by any stretch.

What do I watch now? Papa a Toda Madre just finished up last night too, and all I see is violent telenovelas as far as the eye can reach. I’m really tired of the constant bloodbath.

Lado

I’d again like to thank Juanita for a fine recap and for many years of doing recaps and putting up our pages regularly. And thanks also to LXV for alternately putting up our Telemundo pages.

I also thought they could have done a better job with the finale. It was, of course, a foregone conclusion that Eliza wasn’t going to die in the pool. I guess they were going with J-Low’s strength coming from her manic obsession. But Eliza, working hard kneading dough all these years, should have easily bested Jennifer in a pool fight.

We didn’t actually see her die, but I’d have preferred Paula to serve her whole sentence, looking over her shoulder the whole time. I don't think that the woman who attacked her was the one who shot Cummings. The woman who shot him shouted as she was being handcuffed that Cummings had abused her as a child, when her mother was his housekeeper. The woman who assaulted Paula said something about her daughter having been kidnapped years before by the group Paula was part of.

I don’t understand why the writers had Max do the resuscitation while Andrés was at the other end of the pool restraining Jennifer. The other way round would have made more sense. I really expected Juanita’s prediction to come true: Max somehow being killed by Jennifer as he tried to save Eliza.

I feel that the explanation given by Sofía made sense. She and Joel had to stay in Miami to testify and/or wind things up with that huge investigation. Of course she would have sent Alondra home to be with her true family, her sister and brothers and her almost mother, Eliza. If anyone could comfort Alondra after all she went through, it’s Eliza (and Carmen, whom she called abuela regularly). Also, the honeymoon tickets were, I thought, for Miami. So Sofía and Eliza will be reunited soon.

I wondered as I watched the subasta if the writers hadn’t been inspired by the first Liam Neeson movie, Taken, which also featured an auction of young, virginal girls.

I really enjoyed Patrick bringing Ernesto a drink and then cuffing him! I also enjoyed seeing Gabriel in that nice Panama hat. And, he was classy at the end, calmly accepting there was no way out. I think I remember seeing something about his being in the Caribbean, where a lot of baddies hide their money. From a Google search: Where do rich people stash their money? The British Virgin Islands, the Bahamas, the Cayman Islands, Cook Islands, Belize, and Switzerland. And we’re talking billions.

SIN SENOS`~

yea!! BEAUTY QUEEN CATA…
ALL 3 SERIES AND THE MOVIE WAS CENTERED AROUND THE PAGEANT!!
+++just a review of the closing of last season…
Ok ,Little Cata blew the judges mind, with her socially conscious responses…

Jessica had to make a ‘Chalo’ move, and threaten the judges. after paying off one judge who was so obviously brought off, …
The man could have played it cool, but no, he acted like Daniela’ gassed flowers’, even when she gave answers... in step with a sociopath.

Now, as crazy as that country is, why this poor television, personality participated in this national mess…and why was she surprised to find out how corrupt the game was!!

It shocked me to see how dangerous being a judge could be [ but, why, its COLOMBIA for goodness sakes!! Steve harvey]

Somehow Albireo hooked up with CG, Jessica became, so paranoid, she called Abigail for psychic reinforce.
Poor Albireo, was begging CG to help him, that he was in pain and suffering, CG was as obtuse as usual, the woman has the empathy of a pit bull and the instinct of nothing, it shows she doesn’t have a real emotional connection with anyone. Narcissistic chick.

WHEN TITI appeared, she threw Albireo over literally. I swear to goodness… Albireo fell over into the chairs…

And yes … where were the cops…

When Jessica shot her sister, weren’t the T.E.A. trailing the stupid sister, who knew Jessica was the diabla the ... Nacro Capo!! But Amparo was not as smart as she thought... or too confident!!

New season.#4.. little Cata won the pageant of course!!

And ALL HELL BROKE LOOSE… Danni is really going to cut her wrist ...oh please do!!!
Diablo is freaking out... and rescues her. Too bad!! We must be queen of the world or nothing ,
CG had to let Titi go and move blows her capture... but it was the cool move to do, but her hand was on the trigger the whole time....

A cop rescued Danni but let them ride off!!!

CG kids and husband are worried, and dad rolls out to find her…

hilda and albiero comfort each other.. and her gangster boyfriend sees them..

Danni dead.?????.ok by me!!

Halimacandy...….

LADO

Steve, I took Alondra's expression to be one of joking with Julian about keeping his eyes on other pretty girls when Katrina was sitting right there.

What will you watch next?

sin-senos3

thanks Halimacandy, you have a way with words.

yep, Amparo, Diabla's sister is off to the landfill, with an extra bullet to be sure, but wait her eyes popped open.

near the end of last season Cata pequena graduated high school, and we see Daniela graduating too, what?, she never went to school and can't read, I thought they had her when the pageant host handed her the question.

yep, Diabla paid big bucks to "La Bruja Abigail" to make Albeiro fall hopelessly in love with her, she's good, he was mumbling for help but always returned to Diabla.

the pageant is interesting in that Cata la grande did the same thing, her narco Marcial paid off the judges so she would win, but another narco got to them and she lost, I think Marcial killed them all.

the narco Titi (the Amish looking guy, ha!) thingy is interesting, Cata la grande is doing an undercover sting thingy to bring him in, and here she could of but didn't, since she lied to her boss I'm guessing she still has feelings for him.

Santiago, her husband, well they are separated, he is like another Max from Lado.

we left season 1 thinking Diabla has AIDs, that made the blood donation sketchy, but we see the AIDs test was interrupted.

when Hilda was comforting Albeiro, the guy that was watching, that's Calvo, "her gangster boyfriend".

"EL SENOR DE LOS CIELOS":

Ritula FINALLY finds Super Javi!

I'll be watching "EL SENOR DE LOS CIELOS".

SIN SENOS~

My Jawn!!!

Permisso?!...For the newbies. Let’s go Deep-Dish!!

SS#1...Telemundo series... straight -up, Cata Grande was a Hooker-in-Training, all of them [ girls in the clique] were very young and in school, but desperate for money, fame, glory...a rich sugar daddy..
.
But, honesty CG was.'all- about- that-life'.. she wanted to be in the 'game'..: flashing that ass and making that cash$$... she knew [ she was obsessed with the high life] …. she could make that fast money and she was ‘down with it’,..motto vite: just make it rain$$$...Poppy chulo!!!!....

Bad and Bouji…...her ultimate, ambition was to be a gangster moll!! Hilda and Albireo didn’t have a clue... CG played them both for suckers...

However, CG, couldn’t think her way out of a wet paper bag, for years, she was ripped off, played out, gang-raped, passed around and dogged every which-kind-of-way….

She slide down hill fast ..towards the end of SS#1.. Because she was way-to-close to- beinga disposible, ‘two-bit ‘hooker…by 17 years old ??!!!…it’s a buyers’ market so, ‘coochie’ is a dime -a -dozen...

Jessica was the exception, because she was the least attractive out of the group,
Jessica used her head. Sorry. No pun?! ...strategies. and she let the other girl [get their shoes worn out…]by being a procuress...

The CG's..suenos/dream was to get the biggest tatas[implants] and win the national/regional beauty contest and hook the biggest$$ NarcoCapo!!
If I am lying, I’m flying…

The series, in concept, however was to address the epidemic of child prostitution…Narcos wanted them, young and virgins, and once they choose their preteen lovers, they would insist they get implants and have them showcased in beauty competitions... REAL TROPHY -PRETEEN WIVES...!

Cata G, lived in the worst part of town, Hilda had to struggle to make a living, but they owned a home!!
Her brother, Baryon was recruited early into hood-doom, micro bikeriders who would ,do -pocket book snatches... and just ,general corner boys hustle.. …and Albireo was always yummy, but simple…!! Hilda was a seam-tress but was always being ripped off for her designs...

Due to the hardship of barrio life, CG and the girls evolved into ‘party girls. Prepaid…escorts… eventually they were recruited to work as ‘hostesses’ in the cabaret to make money as well…

Thanks to Ms. Hilda they even had a shot at modeling, but due to debts and scandal they were pimped right-back into the game ...
They lose their chance at honest living, when Jota was ripped off… really ripped off, of big bucks. he found a big bag of $$$ from the cache of dope money left behind a drug bust...

Jessica, initially, found [hooked up] Marcial for Cata Grande, but due to jealousy and hatred, she maneuvers CG into disrespecting and planning to con Marcial, Jessica pulled a coup by having CG express her plans and CG’s hatred of him, on video. Dumb ass CG, God, she was an idiot!!!

SIN S#1/PART 2

Jessica also pull the ultimate con on Marcial... and pushes CG out of the marriage bed and marries daddy big bucks...

She cons him into thinking Danni is his baby?? Hell no!!it’s the slimy lawyer dude[?]. who buys preteen hookers, on the regular...?

CG has a hard time due to illness, she insists on having repeated surgeries and as a result she gets infected implants and septicemia

The Colombian television series [ excellent] and the soft porno [worst] movie, Telemundo's series#1 all three of them, end with Cata Grande's death.... She committed suicide with the [unwittily]assistance of my man, Penumbrae… [who returns in number #2..when Jessica pretends she is dead but hides out at the farm.... and the informer saves pem and lucy ..he [ tortured at the farm by Jessica and buried but saved, he was Marcial’s right hand man and shadow?!

Penumbrae was her Afro Latino devoted paramour [ platonic], he and she arranged her death... SS#1…the switch was pulled on him, CG said it would be Jessica, so he would carry it out, but, CG dresses as [funky, slutty tasteless, cheap clothes and she had money??] two faced, Jessica ...Cata Grande, decides to die due to her fatal illness...

sin-senos3

Diabla kills the TEA agent following her as she takes dead Daniela home, as a nurse sees the result of her blood test, positive for HIV.

we jump ahead, 8 months.

Jota and Vanessa had their baby, they visit Albeiro who is holed up at home avoiding both Diabla and Cata G, trying to deal with his curse.

Mariana (Cata G daughter) has her baby. (ok, she drugged Hernan and had sex with him, and faked the pregnancy test because it wasn't positive, later after sleeping with Titi, she faked taking the day after pill Dayana brought her so she would be.

she names the baby Catalina. (it's a family tradition, right?)

Titi ponders the baby is his, but Dayana assures him Mariana took the pill.

Hernan and Cata p are taking a lawyer ?? class he leaves to see the baby, Mariana tells him she looks like him, Cata p looks on through the window in the door.

we learn Hilda is hanging out with Calvo and plans to open a seamstress shop.

Titi tells Dayana his love for Cata G, if he can't have her no one can.

Martin, Cata Gs ex TEA boss and serial killer is broken out of jail by a guy named Villa, he wants all the secrets of the TEA, Martin wants to be free when they get to Colombia he has a score to settle with the person that ruined his life.

the girl Diabla hired to carry Albeiro's baby is in labor, Diabla discovers they decided to keep the baby, kills the husband (I'm thinking this will be a girl too)

5 withered flowers
5 little dead ones
5 graves
5 oceans of tears

or something like that

is a curse read in the cards by a Bruja to Paula, one of the 5 original girls, since then 3 of the 5 daughters are dead, Mariana (daughter of Cata grande) and Valentina (daughter of Ximena) remain. Cata G tells Santiago (her ex), he laughs.

sin-senos3

sorry, not Paula, but Paola.

Villa was planning on leaving Martin at his ranch while he was gone, with all the comforts including 2 girls, he asks that Martin not BarBeQue them, and laughs.

"MI FAMILIA":

Ashley is going to get sole custody of Maddox.

deb, ¡muchísimas gracias! Your recap was exactly what I needed to make sense of last night's episode. When I watched the episode, I think I understood less than half of what was going on and who was who. Yes, I had read the wonderful, long account you provided before the series started, and I also read Halimacandy's postings, but when I watched the episodes (last night's and opening episode), my brain simply could not process what was happening. Last night, I knew that Yesica shot some woman who tried to stop her from taking away the body of her dead daughter, Daniela, who had committed suicide. I knew various women gave birth, I knew that someone named Martin escaped from prison with help from someone else who wanted information from him about the TEA, and I knew that the husband of one of the women who gave birth was killed. But none of it made any sense to me until I read your recap of the episode.

Thank goodness I recapped Monday's gran final of Lado rather than Tuesday's opening episode of Sin Sense--oops, I mean Sin Senos (or do I?). My recap would have said, "There was a beauty contest with five finalists. The winner was Catalina La Pequeña, and the runner up was Daniela, who is devastated and commits suicide by slitting her wrist. Some armed thugs arrive at the beauty contest and start shooting, but I have no idea who they are or why they are doing this." I think that would have been my "recap" :-( .

I will continue to watch this novela, and perhaps eventually I'll understand enough to enjoy it. I doubt I'll be recapping it for quite a while, if ever. I'm just hoping that you and others will provide recaps. They're especially needed for people like me who have not seen the earlier seasons. Again, MANY THANKS!

sin-senos3

thanks Juanita, glad you are still watching.

this isn't really a new season, just a continuation of season 2 where they didn't resolve anything, they didn't even change the intro or give us any new music for this one.

so strange that Daniela dies in the first episode.

in season 2 Martin and Cata G were working a sting to capture Titi, but Titi got away and Martin made it look like it was Cata's fault and they arrested her, being her trusted friend he took her to a safe house to let things cool down, except that the windows were either bricked up or had bars and the doors all had locks, and there were human body parts in the freezer, turns out this was something he did, take girls here, torment them into having sex, then killing them and cutting up their bodies.

and while Cata was here, Santiago figured she had run off with Titi (whom he knew was an old boyfriend) and he got back together with his old girlfriend Zoraya only to find out he has a son with her, and they moved to Miami.

in last nights show Santigo wants to get back with Cata so she decides they should separate for 6 months for him to sort things out, and after the 8 month jump when she tells him about the curse, he still wants to get back together, but we find out he is still living with Zoraya.

sin-senos3

Wow, deb, thanks VERY VERY much for this added information. It helps me immensely in putting things together. I'm not sure I'm ready for episode 3 (which I'll have to watch tomorrow, since I'll be out tonight), but I'm a lot more ready thanks to you!

IF REVIEW OF THE 'SIN NO HAY#1... THERE WAS A SERIAL KILLER...before the Martin TEA deal..maybe it's a theme they decided to expand... a symbolic representation of all the women missing or murdered.. just saying...

Copared to SS NO HAY ….PEOPLE /PLACES/THINGS are different ,for one Jota was macho and had two loves in his life..now he sounds like a troll on helium and is a super moral ,super trusting idiot...

SS NO HAY :Cata grande was involved in several near death adventures related to law enforcement!! and FARC/or sandanistas??one ??

HIV/AIDS WAS A BIG DEAL.in all the versions/movie as well.... BUT WHEN you are running putalindas. I quess so.. occupational hazards..
