For those wondering what all this is about, here's the posting I made earlier this afternoon before this page went up:

I'm writing to let everyone know that LXV, who has done a wonderful job as co-jefa with me on the Telemundo y Más site since 2015, is stepping down. I will miss her, but I am very pleased to announce that novelera has agreed to take on the co-jefa responsibilities as of today. My heartfelt thanks to both LXV and novelera!

Martin originally got the house that Cata G is now living in, and must know it pretty well, hmm, Cata wants a guard for Mariana, she figures he could have killed her but didn't, so will probably go after Mariana and the baby, and did she mention later about taking Mariana to her condo?

Hilda has 2 seamstress working for her, Margarita is late, her brother and his pregnant wife are missing, Hilda will have taxi man Calvo see what he can find out,

Ximena is stalking Vale because of the curse, Cata M is feeling left out with Hernan, she is planning on stealing the baby, to get a DNA test, to many things don't add up, the baby born after 9 months, is Vale in? yep, they are BFF, they seal it with a pinky promise.

Vale meets her new boyfriend, Angel, on way to class, Ximena is watching from afar.

Albeiro returns Jota's calls, but cuts him off, Jota and Vanessa know he is different.

Yamile, Albeiro's babies mom, wants to run for it.

Martin buys/rents a house, quiet, out in the country, but no basement, darn, he pays 12 months up front.

Cata G's Jefe goes to the new/good police colonel, tells him about Martin, and the 12 girls he killed and ate.

Paola runs into Ximena, Ximena wants to find Diabla, if the five girls get together maybe they can figure out what brought on the curse, Paola just wants Titi to pay for killing her daughter.

Cata M is having a bad day and forgets to turn in her homework, a new guy Gabriel covers for her with a twinkle in his eyes, Cata M's new college friend Sandra likes this.

the happy Cata G family takes a together selfie at the hospital as Soraya, Santiago's girlfriend, walks in, her and Cata go at it with Santi in the middle, Santi gets Soraya alone calls their relationship a sham, wrong, and admits to always loving Cata G, wrong, Soraya says, you will pay for this.

Watching them is lovely and they are bonding like a family.. that man is sexy, especially with a baby.. he is so in love with that kid, he was serious as a heart attack, when he told the guard , anything happens to this child, you are dead..

Sadly, I wish the surrogate father had had the same attitude.. they sold their soul and uteri to the devil.. that nursing mother had better come up with good plan to escape…. She may need to leave the baby ,but that is not going to happen….

Is Jessica still using condoms or femidom… HIV, is not easily transmitted from, female to male via vaginal secretions. However, its much-much, easier to transmit, male to female.. so maybe ,Albireo will test, HIV/SIDA, negative in the future…for Hilda’s sake…

But I wanted to say ¡Viva México!

Since the US didn't qualify, and I haven't really watched any games yet, I read about Mexico's victory over Germany in the World Cup in the San Francisco Chronicle yesterday.

deb, thanks VERY much for continuing to provide these helpful recaps. Without them, I'm afraid I'd have thrown in the towel. Martin certainly looked threatening last night as he went looking at a house with a real estate agent (at least, I think that's who she was. For all I know, she's yet another daughter and/or girlfriend of one or more of the characters). The way Martin was drooling at the mouth, I was afraid he was going to add the real estate agent to his diet of women he has murdered (and eaten?). Blecch

I'm gradually recognizing more of the characters, but the women still seem almost indistinguishable. It's very hard for me to believe that CataG is one generation older than Mariana. They look more like sisters, and that seems the case with some of the other mother/daughter pairs as well.

Was Jota ever a believable character? IMHO his portrayal is totally ludicrous. I can't imagine any woman wanting to be with him, nor anyone taking him seriously. Then again, I'm having a hard time taking almost anyone seriously. :-) That certainly includes Tony. I enjoyed Halimacandy's description of him as a "cake top groom."

CataG and CataM are sisters, same mother, in real life Carmen Villalobos is only 1 year older than Carolina Gaitán, but yes, there doesn't look like an 18 year difference in their characters.

I've never cared for the character Jota, but him getting together with Vanessa was interesting, her and Ximena were still being prostitutes, working in a sleazy club and he managed to get her out of that, alive, and she loves him for it.

I'm kind of liking Tony, putting up with Cata G with a smile.

I really hate Soraya. Yes, she's got a teenage son, Santiago is the father, although she didn't tell him for 15 years. Now she says "you pay". How could Santi ever want to be with her?? Yes, I know, he suspected CataG was unfaithful. Santi's a dope.

I think Yamila said to herself she is planning to take her baby boy (still no name, right?) and escape from Yesica. This will not work.

I'm not sure how Calvo will find Margarita's brother and wife, but he does have underworld connections, which should help.

I agree with Paola - how could getting the five chicas together with Yesica convince her to tell them how to find the bruja Abigaile? But who knows?

I agree, Martin was drooling over the real estate agent as a possible victim. Ewww!

I think Jota stuttered all last season, that seems to be pretty much gone. But as to why Vanessa is with him, Deb gave part of the answer, the other part is that Jota is just really, really good and nice (and a loyal friend). I'd like to think that with some women, that overrides his voice and other negatives (not as handsome as Albeiro, for example).

I also don't think CataM's plan to steal the baby for a DNA test will work, but I hope it does. The other choice - forget about Hernan Dario, who has proven himself a loser numerous times. Maybe that new guy Gabriel will change things.

Mariana leaves the hospital to live with Hernan, nope, Martin clicks away at all the people surrounding Cata G, later looking at the pics he says he knows Tony from someplace.

Soraya confronts Cata G, doesn't want Cata to take Santi a second time, she will kill her, Cata G could care less.

Albeiro's baby needs to be breast fed another 2 weeks, docs orders, Al wants to go home to check on things, he has to ask permission, Diabla sends along some guys, wants him returned as stupid as he left.

Diabla hits the Dani room, Yamile sees her go in, and listens.

Jota is no on Ximena's plan, Paola and Vanessa think they can find Diabla through Calvo.

Albeiro arrives home with 2 guards, pays them off to leave, Cata G and Tony assess the house for Mariana living there ??, Cata G and Albeiro have a spat, Tony decks him, Al is not happy, he goes back to his mujer, Jessica, Ken and Barbie err Tony and Cata follow.

Yamile meets Pig on the way back, he asks if she's lonely.

Daniel has been researching Martin, tells Lucia he thinks Martin will get a house in the country.

Cata G and Tony follow Albeiro and his guards but they are spotted, they drive straight for each other, Cata is firing, Tony swerves at the last second, oops, their car is stuck.

Mariana and baby end up at Hilda's, Margarita returns and thinks it's Diabla that took her brother and his wife away.

Jota wants Calvo to take him to Diabla, begins to tell him... (about the curse?)

Calvo calls Pig, wants a favor, they'll meet.

Villa wants to meet with Diabla also (doesn't she have a facebook page?), Titi asks Dayana for help, ok, but she wants her way with Cata G for payment, hmm, 3-way, maybe.

Villa hits on Dayana, hell on heels, but if he wants a woman she will sell him her baby sister, he balks on the price till she lets him know that she is a virgin, he asks Titi for $50K.

Yamile asks Diabla for a place to stay, ok (the size of a coffin maybe)

Al brings Diabla flowers, asks her to marry him.

stalker Ximena attacks Angel, Vale's boyfriend who was sneaking up behind to surprise her, they meet, Vale holes up in her room not wanting to talk, Martin hovers outside the window.

Chalo is coming to town to see Diabla.

Diabla spills on why the baby is Albeiro's, his sperm and a surrogate mother.

Well I caught up last night. And talk about contrasts! I went to a 7:00 special showing of the film: Playing the Part at a local art movie house. It was about Ian McKellan, a documentary about the entirety of his career, with some old clips of some of his early roles. They showed one with Ian as Macbeth and Judy Dench as Lady M. He was also seated in a chair narrating his life in present time (2017). What a charmer!

Then I came home and dutifully watched two episodes of the telenovela. Felt like I needed a shower afterwards. This show has the “ick” factor ratcheted up to 10. I have always liked Carmen Villalobos, and she sort of makes the thing tolerable for me when she’s on screen. I liked her apologizing to Tony, and she was an idiot for leaving her bodyguard outside in a car.

The pneumatic women in this show look like an advertisement for various and sundry plastic surgeries.

And they are going with a guy who was presented as terrific in earlier seasons having sex with a woman with HIV!

I can’t bear prison telenovelas, so I bailed on the one season of this I partially watched when Yesica got Hilda and her family sent to prison.

I don’t think I’d want to meet the writers of this in a dark alley. Let’s see: mummified daughter, cannibal serial killer, witchcraft presented as a real thing and wall-to-wall narcos.

On the plus side, it does sort of move along.

I thought Martin was intent on doing in CataG or her daughter. So what was he doing outside Vale's window?

And why was CataG firing a gun at the car with Albeiro in it? Isn't he her father?

novelera, I'm relieved to see that I'm not alone in my response to this novela. You're so right about the "ick" factor! And I loved your remark about the female characters looking like "an advertisement for various and sundry plastic surgeries." No wonder I'm having a hard time telling them apart. This novela is normally the sort of thing I avoid. As you say, "mummified daughter, cannibal serial killer, witchcraft presented as a real thing and wall-to-wall narcos." Except for the narcos, these elements would usually turn me off very quickly. Oh well, perhaps I'll eventually come to my senses--or be won over.

but yeah, why was Cata G shooting at Albeiro's car, and why did she get mad at Tony for swerving away at the last minute, was everyone counting on the air bags?

and Martin has somehow become part of the curse,

and will we see Jota, Villa, and Chalo all show up to see Diabla at the same time?

and will Dayana really sell her sister, hmm, maybe she will get breast implants first so we can get back on subject, sin senos si or no?

I don't know how we didn't see this earlier, but of course Margarita's brother is the dead husband of Yamila, and Yamila is the pregnant wife. Jota has asked Calvo to have the chicas meet with Diabla, and Calvo's not so hot on the idea, but since he's called Pig, we know that he still has connections. I think if Hilda also asks Calvo to find La Diabla, since Hilda's trying to help Margarita, Calvo will definitely agree. Yes, Deb, as you say, everybody's trying to meet Diabla.

I'm not sure how Titi can pay Dayana's price for meeting Diabla, namely a night between CatalinaG and Dayana. Not sure how they could get Cata to go along with this. Although the bruja could help, right?

I think the reason CataG was shooting at the car Albeiro was in was to stop it, to make the drivers stop or swerve. But of course Tony had to swerve. I wonder how Martin thinks he knows Tony from somewhere.

Mariana is really laughable, trying to kiss and hug Hernan, even though he continues to say he's only there for the baby.

Alberiro has a son, Albeiroito, why a surrogate? because so many people were trying to kill her, she couldn't risk carrying his baby, ok, Alberio is back in love.

where's Calvo, Hilda wonders?

mother and daughter have a sit down, Albeiro, do you love him, Hilda says Cata G's father was her first love, Albeiro her second and will be her last, do you Cata, her silence says it all, but she just wasn't a decent girl, she says.

next they talk about the curse and the threat to Mariana, Cata G didn't think it was true until Daniela died, but what if it's a mistake, Hilda asks, Calvo saw Daniela, what? Cata G calls her boss to get an ok to exhume Dani's body.

meanwhile Vale thinks Angel is at her bedroom window, nope, it's Martin, who drags her out, leaving a shoe and her phone behind, he is taking her home, after smelling her, licking her, and smashing her to the ground when she tries to fight back.

Ximena freaks, knows she was taken and goes for help, Cata M gets her buddy colonel Granados on the case, Ximena suspects Vale's boyfriend, Cata gets his phone number from her new friend Gabriel, the colonel uses it to locate him, and they swarm his place with an assault team (is el Chapo in there?) Angel is arrested and taken downtown for questioning, his mother is frantic.

Diabla is doing her pill and alcohol thingy that makes her crazy,(not sure what she poured in the drink, was that for Albeiro) Albeiro is totally lost, they throw down their drinks and have animal sex, then it's back to sleep for him while Diabla chats with Dani, Abigail did such a good job with Albeiro, surely she can bring Dani back to life, time for a drive.

Cata M enlists Cata G's help, who leaves Tony to guard Mariana, she invites him in for a... some juice, do you like my mom?

Cata M and Hilda cruise the barrio looking for Vale, but see Diabla driving around with Dani, what? but gets cut off in the chase, calls Cata G, who has picked up the gang, (Ximena, Vanessa, Jota, and Hernan), and fills her in, double what?

Diabla and Dani make it to Abigail's place, bring her back or else, Abigail gives it her best shot, but it's not easy to return a spirit to a body, woooosh, the window blows open and Dani is there, talk to her through me, Abigail says, (hmm, I don't think Dani likes being in an old wrinkled body) the room gets calm, Dani is gone, the last straw for Diabla as she puts 3 slugs in Abigail, bing, Albeiro's eyes pop open, what?, then Abigails eyes open, you have lost, she says, Albeiro, for ever.

Albeiro arises, wtf?

Though I have little patience for all this supernatural bruja stuff, I nonetheless enjoyed it when as soon as Diabla shoots Abigail, the spell on Albeiro apparently breaks. He wakes up and wonders why there's a photo of Diable and him, and what he's doing there.

9.) The Venezuelan Ambassador scolds Paula, who was on the phone with her BFF (The Hot Female Professor).

10.) Ishmael & Daddy Casilas plot to meet with all of the Presidential contenders.

11.) Colon is an IDIOT because he has to know Corina is undermining the DEA.

12.) Looks like Margarita Zavala 2.0 might NOT make it alive because Ishmael & Daddy Casilas ambush her plane.

I concur with Juanita that it was waaay past time for Albeiro to stop being nuts about Diabla. But, if he remembers that he has a biological son, one could hope he'd take the kid with him. But the more likely result is Diabla using the kid as a bargaining chip.

That scene with the murderer with Valeria was awful. I'm having trouble keeping names straight so murderer will do, I believe. Considering the dark nature of this TN, I don't have a lot of hope she'll be found.

This is an awful thing to say, but Mariana would have been my preferred kidnapped daughter!

yep, Mariana is a nasty girl.

sorry to see that they continue to dumb down Hernan and Cata M, in the first season they went from innocence to being two of the toughest characters in the show, with quite the love story, they both went to prison and endured, Cata M went on to being drugged and tricked into getting implants (which she later had removed) and because Daniela wanted Hernan, he became a first class sicario at Diabla's training camp with his mother being held hostage, and they both were instrumental in bringing down Diabla, who lost everything to Cata's family, she is back in business now only because of her association with Chalo.

novelera, yep, Yessica was always jealous of Cata G, and her daughter followed suit being jealous of Cata M, wanting what ever they had.

season 2 started with Cata G's family happily living in Miami, the kids totally spoiled and fawned over, Mariana was 17 then and smoking marijuana on the sneak, flying to Colombia she slipped her stash into Albeiro's stuff to avoid security getting him arrested, but her parents later figured it out and started getting on her, turning 18 a virgin and becoming an adult, she saw Hernan and decided she wanted him, drugging him and having sex, and then accusing him, refusing her dad's plea to take the morning-after-pill, she faked her pregnancy and later Dayana reeled her in with her marijuana connections and sold her to Titi,

of course Santiago became unhappy with Cata G always being away, especially when he found out Titi was an old boyfriend from her prostitute days, hooks up with ex-girlfriend Soraya, who was a nurse/doctor who he worked with earlier in Colombia at the hospital where he saved Cata G's life, only to find out he had a son with her from back then.

what I found really annoying was when Cata G was involved in these really intense narco/TEA operations and she would drop everything to go home to deal with these two.


Juanita, Chalo is the king narco in Mexico who Diabla supplies with merc, Titi wants to be king, and so took undercover/unknowing Cata G with him (TEA wanted Chalo's location) to kill him, and did, they barely got out alive, but wait, Chalo was using a double, not sure if Titi knows that yet.

btw, since Daniela didn't get Hernan, and her mother lost everything (that yellow jeep Cata M drives around belonged to Daniela) and was a fugitive in hiding having escaped from prison, the only thing Daniela could flaunt over Cata M was her surgically enhanced good looks, but Cata beat her at her own game by winning the beauty pageant, that is why it was so devastating to her.
