Evageline, thanks for the name of the town where most of the action takes place.

I'm sort of intrigued by the name of the town and the name of one of the characters: Pereira and Albeiro. These are both spellings more commonly seen in Portuguese. Sadly, I've lost most of the Portuguese I studied in the 80's. It's mostly blotted out by Spanish.

I wonder if there is some sort of language cross-pollination between Colombia and Brazil that would account for these odd, at least to me, names in a Spanish telenovela.

Cata G calls Tony to call him an idiot.

the Diabla raid finds nothing.

Diabla hates being cooped up in a hotel with no windows, heads for Hilda's to find out about Albeiro, Calvo is nervous.

Martin fails to get to Mari before Cata G, Titi, and Cabra arrive, and Cata has a gun, Martin gets away.

Hilda runs into Cata M at the hospital, they talk about Albeiro and the baby, is the baby safe at home, Hernan asks. (they know it's Yamile's baby but not that it is also Albeiro's thinking Diabla just named him Albeirito to make them think it was)

Titi wants an explanation from Cata G, thinks she is lying.

Diabla and Calvo visit Hilda's, Margarita and the baby hide, Calvo might have heard a baby cry.

Diabla trashes her way around Hilda's house, finds both 5 curses (they must have brought them back from Abigail's), ?? , hmm, Hilda calls Margarita to check on her, Diabla hears the phone.

Titi wants Cata G to return with him, Cata G refuses to take her daughter to the ranch of a narco, so that is all I am to you Titi says. (Titi and Mari have been playing it cool so far, I don't think Mari knows Titi knows Cata G is her mother and he didn't show himself to Mari)

Calvo intervenes on Margarita's behalf, but Diabla leaves with the baby and Albeiro's hospital location.

Tony arrives at Cata G's, stashes his gun and badge and goes in posing as Hilda's driver, checking on things, Titi let's him go, Tony calls Miguel and the Colonel, Titi is here with one guard.

Thanks very much, deb, for this helpful recap. I've got very little to say about this episode. I hated the scenes with Martin.

I don't really understand the dynamics between Titi and CataG, and I am unhappy with Telemundo for not giving those of us who haven't seen the earlier seasons an alternative to SS3. Had they arranged the schedule so that another new novela began on the same day as SS3, we'd have had a choice. Oh well.... I'm most grateful to you, deb, for helping me understand a good part of what's happening.

There was one interesting thing for me in this episode: I saw that Tony actually has a brain between his pointy ears. He was smart enough to take off his gun and hide it before going into the house and confronting Titi. He was thus able to make a plausible case that he was just a chauffeur and they let him go. As soon as he was out of the house, he alerted the police. (They've already screwed up two attempts to capture people. I wonder whether the third attempt will be the charm. Somehow, I don't think so.)

Diabla figured out the curse real quick. She is a smart one.

Whoever said that CataG return in season 2 overshadowed the rest of the main cast was right. In an episode like last night, CataM and Hernan were shown for about 2 minutes. Doing nothing. In season one, they couldn't sit in the hospital for two minutes without something coming up. Or is it because Daniela, their main rival is dead?

Titi appears bi-polar in this one. He veers rapidly between trust and distrust of Cata. She sure is a good liar.

Yep, scene with Martín was ghastly. And, of course, he got away so we can be treated to more slasher movie crap later on.

If Diabla manages to spirit Albeiro out of the hospital, I'm done.

I thought there was a chance she wouldn't get the baby. They dragged it out long enough. And, if piece of crap Calvo hadn't said something about hearing a baby when she came in, they might have left before the phone rang.

Diabla: jealous much? She had to root through Hilda's stuff, scorning everything. That still won't change the love he feels for Hilda, and she knows it.

I like your theory, evageline. That could be a possibility. Guess that's why he hates anything not hispanic mentioning like there were be no english and no betrayal against hispanics.

Margarita spills to Jota and Vane about Albeiro, and Diabla taking the baby.

Calvo and Diabla take the baby back to the hotel

Albeiro is sedated, he was worried about a baby, some of his wounds opened, Hernan, Cata M, and Hilda, can't stay, hospital rules, leaving, they run into Santi (who seems to be haunting the hospital after hours) who gives them his Soraya blackmail story, Hilda's face says it all.

Titi meets cata p, does he guess, they connect, Mari isn't looking happy.

Tony brings the calvary, but Cata G pleads for her family and gets Titi out of there.

our hospital crowd are now over on Liset watch, doc says she will be fine.

Cata and Titi arrive at the the ranch, it's empty, Titi sent everyone home, he wants to know if Cata is one of the cops, Cata tells Mari to trust her, and stomps both Titi and Cabra, wow, taking their guns, she's leaving.

Margarita with Jota's help arrive at the hospital, all leave to go look for the baby.

Calvo brings things for the baby then gets sent to get Albeiro, we see Dr. Calvo checking things out, tells Diabla he needs help.

Titi's honeymoon isn't going as planned, her leaving is breaking his heart, he tells Cata his dream, for her to carry his child, he asks when he can see her again, Cata, Mari, and baby leave, Titi is devastated, but gets a second wind when he remembers that she is still wearing the ring.

Santi stops Dr. Calvo and asks about Soraya, he says she is fine, Santi can go home,

Hilda and crowd arrive at her house, the devil was here, Jota suggests getting the house blessed, Margarita spills that Calvo was with her.

Cata G explains to Mari that family is first, that's why she let Titi get away, but when Mari is safe she is going back, with her people, she takes off the ring.

Cata G gets home and slaps the elf, (Tony).

Jota deduces Albeiro was on the run, they all rush back to the hospital, except Margarita who is left to hold down the house.

Cata G rants for a couple of hours before spilling where Titi is, a 3rd raid is launched.

Titi and Cabra load the car up with money, and hit the road.

Hilda's crowd arrives at the hospital. Cata M leads the charge, it's after hours, no visitors, Cata splashes the nurse and they are off, chased by security.

does Diabla suspect Calvo will betray her, she frantically tries to call him.

since no one can stop him, Calvo decides to do away with Albeiro once and for all, regretting that he will die so peacefully, and moves a pillow to his face, as feeble Albeiro resists...

Muchas gracias yet again, deb, for another very helpful recap. I was surprised that Calvo decided to kill Albeiro. Didn't Diabla say she wanted him to bring Albeiro back to her place? Calvo must have a death wish to do something that will clearly enrage Diabla.

And what did The Looks mean that Titi, Mariana, and CataG exchanged when Mari and the baby first appeared? Had Mari slept with Titi? Is her baby his? What does CataG know about this?

Was the phone that CataG gave to the police indicating the location of Titi's place the same phone that Tony placed in the car? I wish I knew what brand it was--I'd like a phone with a battery like that one!

I'm assuming/hoping that Calvo won't have time to kill Albeiro before Hilda et al arrive at Albeiro's room. Of course, Calvo did lock the door, but still, I doubt that the novela will kill off such a goodlooking guy and run the risk of losing a substantial fraction of the female audience. I mean, who else are we going to enjoy looking at? Martin? Jota? Cabra?

Juanita; When Mariana drugged Hernan and slept with him, the pregnancy test was negative when she golkit, but she lied to her parents and Hernan that she was pregnant.

Then, she ran away from home and moved to Hernan's house. That's where she met Dayana, whom she liked because Diyana agreed to smoke Marijuana with her. Dayana then talked her into going with her to Titi's ranch, and since they (Titi and Dayana) knew it wouldn't have been easy to get her to sleep with Titi, they drugged her. The drug made her see Hernan in Titi, and that's why in Titi's flashback you see Mariana telling him to give her the baby she wants so bad. Titi knew he didn't use protection, but Demonia promised to give Mariana the morning after pill (which Mariana flashed down the toilet)
To cut the long story short, the next time Mariana took a pregnancy test, it was positive.
Ooh, before Titi slept with Mariana, Demonia had a pic of CataG which she took after CataG beat her up, and she showed it to Titi. So he knew the girl's mum was CataG.
Mariana told CataG that Dayana took her to Titi's ranch but she didn't meet Titi.

I also wonder what/who will make the female audience stick with the show if Albeiro dies(he has had so many lives so far, I hope they don't kill him after all he's been through)
Juan Pablo Llano is also a great actor but we don't see much of him in this show. We sometimes even see him after 3 days.
I lol when you asked if we'll be left with Martin, Jota or Cabra to enjoy Juanita.
I guess you didn't include Calvo since he might also be a gonna if Albeiro dies
 

I'm watching this. I did suspect TJ's Daddy was the one, who ordered Julian to get beat.

Evageline, thanks very much for your very helpful response to my questions about the relationships among Mariana, Titi, and CataG. To continue to watch this novela, I've had to suspend my disbelief in witchcraft, spells, and related stuff, and so I guess I'll add the drug that supposedly made Mariana see Hernan in Titi.

And yes, I did think of including Calvo on my list of unappealing males, but I personally find the other three even less appealing. Poor Calvo, he was an also-ran in Hilda's feelings and on my list. :-)

And, thanks Evageline for the background information. I think someone earlier on had mentioned that Mariana had sex with Titi, but I did not know that she thought it was Hernan. But, judging by her nervous behavior when he held the baby, she must now know he’s the real father.

I got a real kick out of Titi’s behavior as he held the baby. I don’t think CataG knows about this or she’d have snatched the baby away. Titi is pretty sure, though. I was laughing about how much he was complimenting the baby’s looks.

The guy playing Titi is good. I’ve seen him in other novelas: Flor Salvaje, La Hija del Mariachi. He’s very sexy. And his grief over having CataG take off was palpable.

I have no idea what Calvo’s plan is. Doubt he’ll kill Albeiro. But maybe his plan had been to tell Diabla that Albeiro died before he could fetch him. But, assuming CataM, Hernan, and Hilda are able to save him, Calvo’s still deep in the doo-doo for not producing her man.

CataG’s ninja moves were amazing. But I could sort of see how fake it was by the camera angles.

Poor Tony. He does love CataG, and was very hurt by the slap and the angry words. But she is right. It IS sort of unconscionable for a SWAT team to launch an attack with an innocent (kinda, considering it’s Mariana) woman and a baby at risk.

Hmmm. I don’t have a lot of faith in Liset’s mother. She said she’d protect her daughter, but I don’t see how this wimp could stand up against Demonia.

So, are we to believe that Titi thinks he had sex with CataG and that she might be pregnant? But she fooled him and really didn’t do the deed? This plot point in telenovelas always amazes me. Unless people in Latin America have sex differently than people in the US, there are always “signs”.

I don’t think Diabla suspects Calvo of what he’s doing. She’s just so insanely obsessed with getting her hands on Albeiro again that she called him every 5 minutes for a progress report.

Demonia just thought the drug would make Mariana agree to do "things" she didn't want to do.
After Mariana's night with Titi, she thanked Demonia very much for bringing Hernan to her the previous day.
Demonia was of course confused and told her it was El Titi and not Hernan. You could clearly see the disgust on Mariana's face since she knew her mother and Titi's history.
So yeah, Mariana knows that Titi is her baby daddy. No one else knows though(except that the thought crossed Titi's mind last night) But the test results CataM is having done are on the way

Hernan kicks in the hospital door and stops Calvo, Albeiro is saved, security takes him away and Hilda calls the Colonel.

Titi and Cabra show up at Villa's, tells of girl problems, Villa reluctantly agrees to help him, since he supplies the best cocaine.

the Colonel has Calvo now, and brings Hilda in to help, Calvo expresses his undying love for her, as sincerely as we have ever heard, he will give up Yessica to show her, what?, he doesn't know her address but he can show the Colonel the way, and soon our swat team wil be off to it's next raid of the night,

Diabla is still trying to call Calvo, and light that cigarette, he talks the Colonel into letting him answer so she won't be suspicious, he tells her he has found Albeiro but his help "H" (who we learned last night is an expert at getting people out of hospitals), is out of town, (ut oh, Yessica is taking pills with her alcohol, this always gets her really crazy).

Cata G is taking Tony and Miguel to Titi's, they call the Colonel for backup, nope, they can't do both and decide on getting Yessica, Cata G makes a U-turn.

Mari calls Santi from the Altagracia Hotel, he swings by, she spills on Martin and his 2 big knives, Santi ask forgivness for leaving her alone, he should have never brought his family here from Miami (an understatement) Matias calls him (his son with Soraya) wants to know what's up with his mom, Santi will be home later (this is where Santi lives with him and Soraya, no wonder he is haunting the hospital) to see him when he finishes with Mari.
(Santi reminds me of Max from "al otro lado del muro")

Hilda has some quiet time with Albeiro, she asks to be forgiven, she didn't know he was under a spell, drugged, kidnapped, Al says forget it, and tells of forgiving Yessica, que?, because she confessed her love for him, no, he could never love her back, Albeiro also tells of the baby being his, Yessica had her eggs fertilized with his sperm and then implanted into Yamile, did you have sex again, Hilda asks, I did what I had to do, Al replies, don't ask again, one more question from Hilda, did you use protection, nod, you can never be too careful with Diabla.

Cata G and guys arrive at Yessica's hotel, Cata wants to be the one to arrest her.

Yessica, alone, is laid back in her undies with some of Dani's ashes making a cross on her stomach, talking to the baby, Dani, and herself, while the hi tech army outside is ready for a war, the hotel door is blown to splinters and Cata G appears out of the smoke, heels, mini dress, and bullet proof vest, the red dot of her laser site on Yessica's forehead, but Yessica knows herself to be immortal...

(hmm, I guess Yessica can always go back to Chalo, oh wait, he's dead, but what about that deal she was going to make with the TEA for his body)

I shouted "Yes!" out loud when I read your remark about Santi's reminding you of Max in Al otro lado del muro. You're so right! Both men are seemingly well meaning but hopelessly ineffectual, in part because they're so self-centered. Of course, I'm much more familiar with Max than with Santiago, but I've seen enough of Santiago to be infuriated with his inability to be useful and his failure to carry out what he promises. With both men, there seems to be no there there.

ah, the Max character from Lado was done so well by Khotan, I'll never shake it, a well meaning ineffectual individual, with a life in ruins.

Thanks again, deb. That was a spectacular recap! I loved your description of CataG appearing out of the smoke with heels, mini-dress and bullet-proof vest. OK, Carmen has great legs and, um, hindquarters, but the constant minis, shorts and camera angles to show these attributes off do become a bit tiring.

I can't believe they actually got Yésica.

And, I seem to miss things in this novela that I don't in others. I was not aware that Albeirito was created with Yésica's egg. I thought she inseminated Yamile with Albeiro's sperm.

And, I guess we needed the PSA about condoms because Viewerville knows Yésica is HIV positive.

That was a pretty weird scene with the ashes on her body. I was nervous about the baby. She kept speaking of him in a denigrating way.

Do I remember correctly that Albeiro flipped a coin to decide which woman to go back to: Hilda or CataG? THAT'S certainly not typical TN galán behavior! Normally it's one look at the female protagonist and he's a goner.

I'm really surprised Titi lets Villa treat him so dismissively. He's done that since the first time he was introduced. [Well, at least to me, since, if he was in earlier versions, I didn't see him.]

novelera, I too did not know that Yessica used her eggs, which is why I thought Tono and Yamile decided to keep the baby.

yep, all business Villa looks down on fun loving Titi, the father of Cata G's granddaughter, but then he is Titi's money train and buys all his merc.

remember too that Villa broke Martin out of prison and financed his current reign of terror.
