Diabla gets her deal, extradited, judge will reduce sentence, then she is to reveal the location of Chalo, hmm, is this is where Diabla adds things, she wants her daughter's ashes, and a new face.

Cata G makes Cata M promise to not reveal their engagement to Mariana.

Dayana is impatient, Villa calls Titi, Titi begs out to Villa's guys, you run them.

Albeirto has been waiting for Hilda, she tells of Carlos trying to bite her, she did not tell the doc about the curse, she doesn't want to be locked up there too.

Cata G tells Cata M of Ximena's death, they cry.

Jota returns to Manuel's house with the cops, no one is there, Manuel died 15 years ago.

Cata G returns home, Santi is off to see Mateos, Cata will talk to Mariana.

Cata M gets down a statue and in a small ritual asks forgiveness for breaking a promise with her two BFFs, Vale and Nana, a promise they had made to not bring children into this world, she will have Hernan's baby, because he is her gran amor.

Hilda calls all-about-me Cata G, what a day I had, Ximena's death, Mari lying about the father, rejoined the TEA, my father is too crazy to answer her questions, Santi and I are back together, and your sister Cata M?, Hilda asks, she's good.

Soraya is still throwing down drinks with Roco, he's up for some sex, she breaks it off, waves her gun around, it goes off.

Santi drops in on Mateos who is in the middle of..., the girl gets dressed and runs out, Santi guesses his mother isn't home.

Hilda reminds Albeiro they haven't checked on the baby, they call Margarita, no answer, and that guy walks past her window again.

Cata G calls the Colonel, oh so you will help me identify the body, nope, she wants news of Daniel, mal, he texts her the hospital.

Jota gets back, (somebody get him a leash and a cave room in that manicomio).

Mariana finally comes out of her room, Cata G confronts here, true, Hernan is not the father, who is?, Mari isn't talking, only reminding Cata of her prepago past, slap, you have no idea what my life was like, etc. etc., but sooner or later the bill comes due.

Hilda's entourage is finally checking out, leaving so soon?, asks the lady, and I know you Hilda, from a long time ago, and their bill has been paid.

Santi has a sitdown with Mateos, Beatriz, your novia?, yep, use protection?, nope, Santi will get him some condoms, as Soraya staggers in, pulls her gun on Santi, asks Mateos to leave so he won't see her killing his father, Santi jumps her, they struggle, the gun goes off...

sin-senos3

Thanks very much, deb, for this terrific recap. Last night I needed it more than ever, since for about the first 10 or 15 minutes, there were no captions. At first I thought, "Oh good, I'll see whether I really need them." The answer came depressingly quickly :-( .

I enjoyed a number of your comments in the recap, but especially this one: "Jota gets back, (somebody get him a leash and a cave room in that manicomio)." I cringe every time this guy appears, and as soon as he opens his mouth, I reach for the mute button.

I cheered when CataG slapped Mariana.

Question: Did Hilda call CataG? I thought I remembered CataG calling her, but my memory doesn't have a high reliability score.

So who is the mystery man who walks by the window?

Do characters in a telenovela ever struggle for a gun without it going off? I feared that it would be Santi who is shot, and we'd then have the obligatory near-death in the hospital yadda yadda yadda. But my impression is that it's Soraya who gets shot. I hope so, though I fear she may not be dead. And whether or not she's dead, will we then have Santi arrested unjustly for [attempted or actual] murder? [Yawn]

Did we actually go through an entire week of episodes with no sighting of Martin? Bravo! (See, I can find something good to say about this novela. :-)

sin-senos3

Thanks Juanita!

your right, Cata G did call Hilda.

I too was without any captions after the show started, but it seemed shorter.

I was done with J j j j jo jot TA, in the the first series Sin Senos No, I suspect he is the writers nephew, but when he gets everyone else going...

maybe you guys will get to see Hernan in action, since Cata G just stopped by to warn them and Hernan has dug out his gun, kind of surprised that he has dropped cata p out of his life.

not sure, but I thought Hilda was there when Margarita burst in and told of Diabla taking the baby, but I seem to remember that Cata G only told Cata M about Diabla being busted, right?

pretty stupid that they are taking Diabla back to the states before she has to reveal Chalo's where abouts, of course when ever she gets them cornered she adds on new conditions, maybe if she drags it out long enough, Titi will remember to set up a hit on her.

Calvo could have made the same deal, must be his loyalty stopping him.

sin-senos3

it's interesting that Diabla asked for a new face, because the rumor is that Majida Issa (Diabla) walked, to other commitments, after filming was complete, saying she thought the public has had enough of her character.

next it is said that Gustavo Bolívar (the writer) offered the part to the original Yessica, María Fernanda Yepes, but no can do.

I'm still hoping they at least pretend to wrap everything up this season, there is no official word of another.

sin-senos3

Excellent recap, deb.

It's funny how we don't always notice things. I saw Santi grab the gun and, mostly, overpower Soraya. But I don't remember hearing the shot. These writers could go either way. There doesn't seem to be any reluctance to kill key characters off. Santi biting the dust could have CataG back on the job and staying in Columbia, I suppose. But I certainly hope it's the end of Soraya, who's BSC and would never give up trying to kill someone.

What in blazes is up with CataG's male child, Sebas, I think they call him. He's never in any scenes, just speaks on the phone with his mother. Is he supposed to be in Colombia or Miami? And why isn't he with his parents?

Can they please, please kill off Dayana - and soon. She's also crazy, yammering on about being the queen if CataM dies. Honey, I don't think it works that way. If CataM died, she'd be the queen who died too soon, and you'd still be number 2 (or was it number 3; that whole beauty contest was confusing to me).

Mariana actually admitted to her mother that Hernán is not her baby's father. What a nasty little brat she is and, yes, I enjoyed the slap as well.

I did enjoy Santiago's PSA to Mateo about protecting himself as well as the girlfriend. That's the last thing Santi needs is another child popping out a grandbaby at a tender age.

Glad to hear there's no word about another season.

Novelera: This might be the LAST Season. I doubt they'll find CataM alive.

sin-senos3

I thought this was an entertaining episode. I loved how crazy Paola and Jota got when they found out that Manuel died 15 years ago! And yet, he talked to them a few days ago. Then, they thought Vanessa and the baby were missing! But no, false alarm. The whole thing is quite silly. I also liked the hotel clerk saying "leaving after a few days? Most people stay longer. Some people NEVER leave!" Hmmmmmmmmmm. And who paid the bill? Laura? It's all quite mysterious.

At least now they know Daniel survived, although of course he's in serious condition. When (if) he wakes up, he could be quite upset at what his brilliant idea of getting drunk as a skunk caused.

I'm glad CataM found a way to break her pact, and have kids. But really, should a pact made at such a young age be binding? Yes, they swore to God, but think of how many people swear they'll never smoke again, or drink, or whatever, unless it's something like a marriage vow, I don't think people should be held to some vow, especially if circumstances change. There's an opera called Ernani, in which the main character, Ernani, is so grateful to his rival at one point, that he gives him a hunting horn, and says "If you ever blow that hunting horn, I'll kill myself". Of course, way later, after Ernani gets ready to marry his true love, he hears the sound of the horn. And he made that darned vow years ago! You can guess the result.

sin-senos3 #36

no one was shot, Soraya spills she got the gun to kill Cata G, and won't stop till it happens, or Santi is dead, Soraya eventually runs down, Santi dumps her in bed, sees a call from Rocco.

Hilda's crowd finally leaves, almost, Albeiro's car is up on blocks with no wheels.

Titi is back with Villa, who is getting calls from Chalo's customers wanting merc.

Rocco sends Ferney into town to buy roses to send to Soraya.

Liset chats with Hernan and Cata M, a job ?? Hernan suggests she plan their wedding.

Cata G and Mariana go round and round about the father, Mari finally spills, almost, he is a narco, Cata G flips.

everyone piles into Jota's car, rrmp, rrmp, pow, steam pours from the engine, someone watches from inside.

Mateos answers the door, a big bunch of roses for Soraya, love Rocco.

Cata G keeps at Mariana, finally she does spill, TITI is the father, this stuns Cata.

they have to wait 3 hours for the car to dry out, or something, so they head back to the hotel, still being watched.

Cata G tries calling Titi, what?, but doesn't have his current number.

back at the hotel everyone orders a drink, the waitress forgets the order, twice, everyone is strange here, Jota thinks they are like elderly teddy bears.

Cata G calls Santi, wants to talk, they'll meet after she swings by the TEA.

Albeiro gets his beer, Vane and Hilda have bottled drinks, Jota changes his to a beer, Paola gets the 2 home made from local trees lemonades.

Mariana starts packing and writing a goodbye note, wait, she has to fix this somehow and calls disinterested Dayana, there's someone in her way, Cata M, ok, Dayana is listening.

not finding Miguel at the office Cata G leaves, oh there he is, she talks about coming back, they nailed Diabla, now she wants her number 1 objective to be getting Titi.

(wasn't Cata G supposed to be meeting the Colonel at the hospital, to check on Daniel?)

"EL SENOR DE LOS CIELOS":

1.) BPN & Castillo clash once AGAIN. Sounds like BPN is having a mental bipolar disorder when he accuses Castillo of backing Gomez Labrador in the 2018 Presidential elections.

2.) Castillo might as well get a job with the DEA & working with Colon, Navarro & Co.,

3.) Elvira might not be long for this world if she keeps getting uppity with El Capo.

4.) Diana gets kidnapped by the Rosales Syndicate.

5.) Mayra gets chewed out by BPN.

6.) Jaime doesn't take BPN's phone call.

sin-senos3

Hombre, I almost always love your comments, but it's clear we differ when it comes to sense of humor. I find Jota insufferable: he's an idiot, he's a coward, and when he opens his mouth it's like fingernails on the blackboard, though frankly that does a disservice to both fingernails and blackboards. :-)

Yes, many opera plots share a certain amount of foolishness with telenovelas. But in opera, what's really important is the music and the singing. And, getting back to Jota, for me, listening to him is like listening to Florence Foster Jenkins, except I find Jota even more painful.

sin-senos3

Many thanks, deb, for yet another heroic effort. You're amazing.

I was surprised (and disappointed) to see that Soraya emerged unscathed. I really thought she'd been hit when the gun went off. Given how deranged and dangerous she is, I was dismayed that Santi didn't keep his eyes on her. I expected that she'd get up, get hold of the gun or something else, and go after him. He seems so hopelessly naive and clueless.

But Santi is a genius compared to Jota (indeed, almost anything breathing is a genius compared to Jota). Jota looks at Albeiro's vehicle and doesn't see that it's missing its tires. Duh. Then, a bit later, Mr. Sensitivity makes a remark about needing to cut old people (those in la tercera edad) some slack, and turns to Hilda for confirmation. And I'm wondering about Jota's changing his drink from lemonade to a beer. Will one or more of the drinks turn out to be drugged? Poisoned?

Cambiando de tema (or perhaps not), Mariana has definitely gone over to the dark side with that call to Dayana.

So now the show might be moving to Quinchia??

Sin-senos3

Thanks again, deb. I envy your ability to be concise and funny at the same time.

I am just gob smacked at Santiago. A certifiable lunatic tries to shoot him and apparently her only child at the same time. She raves at him that she plans to kill the woman he has just given a ring and asked to re-marry him.

Does he call the police to take this dangerous person away? Or does he even have the funny farm pick her up? In CA at least and, I assume other states, they have the 72 hour hold for dangerous family members where they are involuntarily committed for a short period of time. Anything longer than the law mandates requires a hearing before a judge.

[OT I used to date a Court Commissioner, something slightly less than a full judge in CA. He used to hear these petitions before the court to have the 72-hour hold extended because the person was dangerous. It was interesting because it’s a very delicate thing to take away someone’s civil rights and liberty. And the person hearing the case has to make sure it isn’t being manipulated to get an inconvenient relative out of someone’s hair.]

Anyway, apparently Santi is such a wimp that he just wants to “help” Soraya. Please.

And, Mariana. She’s appeared to be a spoiled brat and obsessed with a man, a very common TN “other woman” trait. But now she’s contacting Dayana, who already has a hit out on CataM. I was wondering if maybe she was planning to leave the baby. She kept crying and talking about her poor daughter. Well, good. Leave the kid and maybe CataM and Hernán can have an instant family. And maybe Mariana will be run over by a Mack truck. I wouldn’t go so far as to wish her to be caught by Martín, but I can’t stand her.

Yep, the Village of the Damned is veeeery strange. I immediately got suspicious of the lemons from their own tree. So maybe the women will become either forgetful or nuts and the beer-drinking men will be OK, at least as OK as Jota could ever be. And, Juanita, I’m with you. I actively loathe the guy. I want to FF through him, but I keep thinking maybe, just maybe, he’ll say something that pertains to the plot.

I AM curious about the figure behind the curtain who keeps watching them. And also about the man who floats past Hilda's hotel room.

sinsenos-3

Great comments, everyone, I agree with everything that was said, about Santiago, the lemonade, even about Jota! He really is annoying. Another thing he said was when everyone was saying the worst thing is to lose a child. And he goes, yeah, but what about a spouse? Not the most sensitive thing to say to several people who lost their children (including his own wife!)

So CataG tells Mariana, when Titi finds out he's the father, there will be problems. But does he need to find out?????

Still can't understand why Albeiro keeps holding his arm or shoulder. Left over pain recovering from the gunshots? Is he being cursed by Laura? Or did the actor hurt himself and they're working it into the story?

BTW, is this the hotel they were all warned not to stay at a few days ago?

The guys waiting (outside the wrong house) to kill CataM aren't making too much progress. Dayana will not be happy (and I love it when that happens).

sin-senos3 #37

Miguel gives Cata G her badge and gun, she is hot to get Titi, sounds personal says Miguel, oh and the job comes with a condition, Tony.

Cata G calls Santi, we need to talk, meet you at the house.

Vane's baby is hungry, Albeiro and Jota go for a walk, Paolo hears her dead daughter Martina calling her.

the boys find a small store for one brewski, Carlos is being tormented in his cave cage, Paola heads to the rest room, so she says, as she follows her daughter's voice, and is that Laura and the curses weaved into all this.

Hilda can't find Paola, even with Vane's help, the only way out is past reception and they would have seen her, she has disappeared, freaked, they too disappear by sneaking past the reception lady.

the boy's brewskis has tuned into a table full of empty bottles.

Mariana weeps as she tells cata p goodbye.

Hilda and Vane spend 2 hours calling and looking for the boys, finally they answer, ah, and they are right next to them, enjoy your sodas?, then they spill about Paola being gone and all rush back to find her.

Hernan gives Liset some money, nope, a loan for her business, ok then, she leaves.

Mari leaves the house, driven by both guards, leaving cata p there alone.

when they return to the hotel it is abandoned and the gates are locked, (but the dogs are friendly), hmm, it looks like an old church.

(hmm, could this be the place Manuel was talking about?)

when they go to the police, he doesn't know what to think.

Mari leads the guards to a mall, and leaves them with the car while she, ahem, buys diapers.

Santi gets to the house first but hasn't been given any keys yet, ha!, Cata G arrives, has Tony hide, they go in.

Mariana is not there, they read her goodbye note, a lost cause she says, forget about me, Cata G ponders where she went wrong, what kind of mother abandons their daughter.

Cata G calls the guards, lets them know they are fools, they rush into the mall to find Mariana.

the police take Hilda and all back to the hotel, it's been abandoned for 10 years, breath Jota, can we go in and look for Paola, nope, not without a search warrant, what? Hilda insists they get one.

sin-senos3

Thanks very much, deb, for your helpful recap. As I was watching the episode, I kept wondering whether I was missing something, but your recap assures me that I saw whatever there was to see.

Needless to say, I would have preferred seeing and hearing a lot less of Jota. It's bad enough that he's an idiot and a coward, but now I see he also can get irresponsibly drunk (after turning down a beer because he's the driver). Someone suggested that perhaps he's the novela writer's son or nephew or whatever. I can't imagine any other reason for his being in this novela the way he is, nor any reason that the other characters tolerate and even like him.

I feel badly being so negative about this novela, but it doesn't give me much choice. Part of the problem may be that I don't believe in supernatural curses, black magic, voodoo, etc. But there are plenty of works whose plots make use of supernatural phenomena and I'm willing to suspend my disbelief for the sake of the plot, but that hasn't happened here. I haven't quite figured out why.

sin-senos3

Thanks so much, deb!

I was screaming at my TV specifically at Jota, who seemed to think he could walk off all those beers and drive everyone home. And Albeiro can't seem to control him. And why don't they think one of the three women (at least they thought they had three) could drive the car when it's fixed?

So Santi rushes off at CataG's beck and call, presumably leaving Soraya and probably the gun as well with his son. Even if he took the gun, we haven't seen him get Crazy Eyes behind bars.

I cracked up at Tony curled up in the passenger seat at CataG's house. I'm waiting for the scene where she holds up dog treats and he begs for them.

Halimacandy, you're the one who mentioned Hotel California (You can never leave.) This place appears to be like that.

And we did catch a glimpse of Laura in the same kind of weird den as her mother, with skulls around and casting her spells.

And, didn't we see the man who has been floating in front of our visitors' windows? It looked like him sitting on the porch while the "receptionist" approached him and spoke to him.

Anybody ever read Pedro Páramo by Juan Rulfo? We read it in my Spanish class. Written in 1955, it supposedly was a strong influence on Gabriel García Márquez, especially on One Hundred Years of Solitude. The majority of the book consists of flashbacks in the memories of the people of a town called Comala, in México, and all these people are dead.

….not so strange...given Columbia has the largest population of Africans outside of the motherland [next to Brazil]…. and Venezuela...blend African rituals within the indigenous aboriginal Indio and cover them behind images of catholic santos….. you have current/common,everyday spiritual and cultural practices that reflect the strong religious nature and expressions...of all the people....most go to church, and some may pray/place altars to our ancestors as well....that way ,they can cover all bases...

Sin-senos3

Halimacandy, I found your comment about the mixing of spiritual traditions from Africa with Catholicism and indigenous people’s practices very interesting.

When I was in Brazil, I visited the famous church in Bahia, Nosso Senhor de Bomfin. It is, of course, a Catholic church. But on the steps of the cathedral there are people selling little amulets of the Yoruba gods and goddesses. Also nearby you will find the Bahianas, afrobrasileñas in their white dresses and with white headdresses. They sell aracajé which they fry in palm oil in metal fryers that look like large woks – right on the street. From the internet:

Aracajé is a mixture of mashed black-eyed beans, onions and shrimp fried in dendê (palm oil). According to local custom, a Baiana de Aracajé pours spicy pastes, vatapá and caruru, over the aracajé after she has cut it in half, but in the tourist areas they generally ask foreigners whether you like this or not. The snack is topped off with a salad and costs around 4 or 5 reais (about 3 US dollars). The snack was brought to northeast Brazil by slaves from western Africa. During slavery aracajé was sold in the streets of Bahia by freed female slaves. Apart from being a daily snack aracajé was, and is, offered to the saints and gods during religious candomblé ceremonies.

sin-senos3

I'd like to see how they're going to explain Manuel having been dead for 20 years, the hotel where they stayed having been abandoned 10 years ago, Paola disappearing after drinking lemonade, and Laura smoking a cigar and watching them. Is any explanation possible? This show is just getting stupid. But we do have some things we can count on, like the guards of Mariana letting her leave her baby alone, and letting her go off without them in the mall, which they were told not to do. And I guess we can count on so-called good characters drinking themselves into a stupor (first it was Ximena and Daniel, who sort of had a reason, now Albeiro and Jota, who didn't).

At least Liset, Hernan and CataM were reasonable, although they know there's an order to have CataM killed today (it's a long day, I guess). That was nice to lend Liset money to start a business.

We haven't seen Martin in quite a while. I don't miss him, but it would be nice to know something about Valentina and Lucia.
