As crazy as all these last few episodes have been, the cops actually did something right for once! Instead of going after Titi (who, by the way left his ranch a while ago, so their bust would have been a bust, as usual), they went after Yesica, who has no guards at all. But somehow I'm still not counting her out, even though she's finally been caught.

Albeiro sort of admits he did it once with Yesica to save Jota (true), but that time used a condom. But what about all the times when he was drugged or bewitched. I agree with Halimacandy, hard to believe he used protection throughout all that.

Can't believe Mateo still doesn't even know his Mom tried to kill herself and is in the hospital?? Maybe I missed something. Santi has to tell him in person (leaving Mariana again).

after a Cata G beatdown, Diabla is taken away, the baby is given to the Colonel, Cata tells him the mother is missing and no one knows who the father is), Calvo tears up watching his boss being carted off.

and the TEA hunt for Titi is on.

Cata G calls Mariana about the news, capture of Diabla and now Titi, the nightmare is over, Mari is happy, hands the phone to Santi, of course he thinks this is a good time to talk about getting back together. (are we forgetting Martin?)

Cata G waits outside at his finca so Titi doesn't connect her to the raid, but there is no Titi, Miguel suspects Cata had somehow let him get away and calls her on it, Cata blows up, quits on the spot.

Titi and Villa are chatting over drinks, Titi has a meeting with Diabla, Villa is interested in getting to Chalo so that only he will be the best in Mexico.

Mari and Santi talk, he talks about Cata G, she talks about going back to Miami, with Hernan of course, Santi has to leave and go see Matias, his work is never done.

Diabla gets checked into the slammer, asks where Daniela is.

Cata G can't shake Tony or his 'eternal' loyalty, she walks to the main road and hails a cab, he does too, and they arrive at the hotel at the same time, Cata jumps when she sees him.

Al in his hospital bed with Hilda asleep beside him, so grateful for her loving help but when he looks down at her, he sees Cata G, who says she came back for him, he tells her he loves her, poof, she's gone.

the Colonel is moving Diabla to a maximum security prison, she flirts, wants to negotiate, she knows where Chalo is, the Colonel puts her move on hold and will talk to the TEA.

Cata G and Mari talk, as adults/mothers as Mari puts it, Cata doubts her love for Santi, but wants to make up lost time with her family.

Jota, Vane, Ximena, and Paola are off to find Carlos, with a stop to see Albeiro, Jota asks Hilda to go with them, Albeiro encourages her, to find answers as to why her husband abandoned her and the 2 kids, but no, she'll stay and take care of Albeiro.

Titi calls Dayana, sets up a date with Villa, she doesn't swing that way till he sends her a pic of the money she'll get.

Cata M gets on Hernan for cutting school to see his daughter, then talks to Sandra, I guess the DNA results take 3 'business' days and only one has gone by.

TEA Miguel shows up to negotiate with Diabla.

Thanks a lot for the recap Deb. I love how short you make them but still get every detail.

Marcial and Titi negotiated with the TEA. But they served 20 years in prison, then got out on the condition of finding Diabla and killing her. Does Yesica think she'll just get out in exchange for Chalo's dead body?
Or are we going to get a time jump now? Of her having served a few years, and given Chalo's body to the TEA? I'm confused. Can they just let her go?

Diabla didn't tell them about the dead Chalo, doubtless because they'd just say: "Good!" and take her off to the super max. I hope it doesn't happen, because I'm sick of her, but I suspect she'll engineer an escape while "leading them" to his "hideout".

Carmen was seriously overacting in her renuncio and conversations with Tony.

I'm not happy with Albeiro and his lust for both mother and daughter. It probably would make more sense if I'd seen the show from the beginning. But Hilda adores him, and CataG has been, supposedly, married to Santiago for 20 years. That's a long time to carry a torch.

deb, I continue to be very impressed and very grateful for your concise and very helpful recaps.

I found myself less interested in this episode than in some others, probably because I hadn't seen the earlier three seasons (starting with SS-NO). But thanks to you, Hombre, Halimacandy, and Evageline, I'm hanging in there.

Two things about this episode puzzled me, and neither depended on earlier episodes. One you pointed out in your recap: what about Martin??? One minute he's terrifying everyone (including Viewerville), and the next everyone (except Viewerville) is thinking all is about to be well and it's time to celebrate. Duh?

The other thing is CataG's belief that if Titi doesn't see her, he won't suspect that she's in on his capture. But what about Tony? Titi has met Tony and certainly associates him with CataG. And Tony's going to be in on the raid to capture Titi. Wouldn't Titi associate Tony with CataG? And if it's clear that Tony is TEA....

Juanita; I am not sure Titi knows Tony is TEA. On the day of the raid at Cata's house(whose house is it anyway? Marcials, Diablas, Hildas, Albeiros, or CataG? Oh well, whatever) he called Tony a snitch while they were making their escape. And its the same thing he told Villa, that a snitch ruined everything.

But why can't Titi just figure it out? In season 2, he was almost caught thrice? Or twice? While with CataG. And he still can't join the dots? Or maybe Diabla might escape, meet up with them and be the one to tell Titi that CataG is TEA

Evageline, I thought it would be apparent that Tony was TEA if he was with the other TEA folks raiding wherever Titi was. I don't remember him calling Tony a snitch (I always miss a lot), but even if he thought Tony was a snitch, why would Tony have known to snitch to the TEA unless CataG told him to? In other words, I don't see a way for Tony to participate in the raid without implicating CataG, which is exactly what she wanted to avoid. Of course, the raid was unsuccessful, but as soon as CataG said she didn't want Titi to see her as being involved, I thought Tony's presence would do that anyway.

Juanita, this was kind of subtle but remember when Tony came to the house after Martin was there, posing as a driver for Cata G's mom, and after he left he called his boss confirming that Titi was there and then set up a raid, Cata G who had been dragging her feet about taking Mari and the baby to Titi's, then discovered from Tony they were coming, she told Titi that she had only seen Tony a few times and didn't trust him, they better leave right now, and then walked right into the standoff, so technically she doesn't know Tony who was with the TEA in the raid, but of course Titi still has his doubts.

Tonight's the Gran Final. Will the law enforcement agencies FINALLY take down Dakota Johnson & her KKK Cronies ?

Miguel is capable of screwing up any negotiation with Diabla, he's the stupidest head of TEA ever.
CataG has been married to Santi for 20 years, Hilda to Albeiro for 20, but in telenovelas, that's nothing. And maybe CataG and Albeiro will get together after all with their super strong love (but I actually doubt it, I think there will be some kind of horrifying conclusion, just as there was in the original series).
Since Falco starts July 22, could our show have only about 10 more episodes?

Diabla spins her Chalo deal with Miguel, he talks to his boss in DC, they think Chalo is dead but aren't sure, so they are willing to talk, maybe even offer her "conditional freedom" if it works out.

Cata G wakes up happy, having quit the TEA she feels liberated, and has a happy breakfast with Mariana, who has called Santi, now knocking at the door, hmm, he has brought a ring and on his knees ask her to marry him again, Soraya?, nope, that's done.

Hilda decides to go with Jota and the girls to find Carlos.

Dayana arrives at Villa's, he says it's for the rest of her life, (is that a proposal or a death threat?) he says she can have what ever she wants if she plays her cards right, he wants her for his queen, ah, that takes Dayana back to the beauty contest, she was third, 2nd is dead, hmm, she wants him to kill Cata M, done Villa says.

Hilda calls Cata G about looking for her dad, he's dead to Cata, if he hadn't left, her brother wouldn't have been a sicario and her a prepago, ok, but Hilda wants her to check on Albeiro (ut-oh).

As Cata G goes out she sees the days newspaper, headines are about a dangerous Cannibal, she picks up Tony in the lobby for a good bye breakfast, he's not still here as a TEA agent, he professes his love for her.

Santi swings by to see Soraya, hmm, she sees pity in his eyes, calls him a coward, and tells him to leave, she was stupid to try to kill herself because of him, what?

Hilda packs a bag and they are finally off to Quinchia.

Mariana springs on Hernan that she is taking the baby to Miami, are you coming? nope, what if I prove to you Cata M is cheating on you?

ah but Cata has been assigned a school project with Gabriel, Sandra sees sparks and leaves, Gabriel gives Cata a letter to read when he's gone, where he tells her he loves her, Sandra is all excited, eggs her on.

Miguel shows up, Cata G gets that Tony was stalling her, she thinks all that he told her were lies, kicks him out, Miguel has two things to say, first an apology, next asks her to return to the TEA, he has her badge and gun.

I think we will be introduced to Laura next week. Let's see which one of the male cast she will fall for, Albeiro? Or Jota? Or Daniel? Or even Santiago?(she might want her sister's ex husband) Hernan isn't on my list, he is too young for Laura I think. Or maybe Laura is a bruja like her mama?

Ooh, and if Hernan just happens to even think that CataM is unfaithful, then he can just as well go to Miami with Mariana and Titi's baby and be happy.

Demonia wants to be the queen of hell? But only if she has CataM's head? Does Villa actually think he will be able to get rid of CataM? Maybe he should just ask Titi how many times he tried to kill her for Daniela and failed

deb, MANY THANKS, both for the explanation about Tony and for your great recap. I'm confused about Diabla's negotiations with the TEA re Chalo. The TEA already think that Chalo may be dead, so at best all Diabla can do is confirm that. Surely they're not going to let her go just for that? So what sort of cards does she think she can play, especially with all her hired guns dead, disappeared, or arrested?

I confess I don't understand why Mariana continues to want Hernan, when he so clearly tries to avoid her every time he comes to see the baby. His behavior has been consistent for quite a while now, so it's highly unlikely that his feelings toward her are going to change.

I was astonished when CataG saw the newspaper headlines about the cannibal and didn't bother to warn Mariana. Heck, she didn't even leave the newspaper so Mariana might find out for herself. Are there no sane and reasonably bright characters in this novela?

Why does Hilda want to find Carlos?

He took the money and ,he tried to help Paola, Vanessa and Ximena leave ‘bordello/hooking and live a honest life, but was sabotaged by the pimp….who left Vanessa the business,when he died…

Titi and the Mariana baby…the man is in love with that baby already…

ALBIERO’S new son…
The best tranquil baby in the world ,he is the fattest ,juiciest ,mango-honey, colored baby.. you could just eat him up..[sorry]

Yessica wanted them to offer her something worthwhile before she would talk, so the conditional freedom is what they are putting on the table, but I'm sure all bets are off once they learn he is dead, and she still has one guy out there, Rolo, who can round up a gang, I'm thinking she gets away.

only Rolo, Calvo, and Yessica know where Chalo is buried, they killed everyone else who knew.

the main thing with finding Carlos is to find Laura and break the curses, but for Hilda, she also wants answers, why he and Laura up and left one day leaving her destitute with their 2 small children, never to be heard from again.

Cata G is something else, too many boyfriends maybe, she doesn't really tell her family anything (unless Calvo is near by), I keep wondering why Albeiro isn't going after his son, but then he doesn't know anything other than Yessica has him, or does he even know that.

I'm a little upset. That they didn't give the other couples a kiss, in the last few mins after Santiago and Marisol had their kiss. I remember it quien es quien and the other novelas i watched. Every freaking couple kiss right after the main couples kiss in the final minutes of the gran final. I'm more upset that telemundo not devoting just a few little seconds for a Megan and Genesis kiss before they pan out to end the series.

Falco intrigues me. From the promos I’ve seen, I suspect it might be some variation on Life on Mars, a British show I really, really liked from around 2007 or 2008. In that one the protagonist is in a car accident in the present and wakes up in 1973. He’s still a cop, but everything about his police department in Manchester is different, especially no rules, at least ones that are enforced, about beating up suspects.

The promo for Falco showed Michel Brown, an actor I like, waking up from a coma, I believe, with lots of years flashing past his face. It might be that they’re going with his waking up in, for him, the future. In Life on Mars it was going backward.

I wish it were on the regular evening schedule instead of the current lineup, none of which thrill me.

I am quite confused about the ages and which women fall into which generations. It was mentioned here that Dayana was in the beauty contest. So were CataM and Daniela. I thought Dayana was a contemporary of CataG and Yésica, which would put her, presumably, in her 40’s. Am I wrong? Why would she be in the contest with these 20 somethings?

Hombre, you are so right. That Miguel isn't smart enough to manage a child care center, let alone a branch of the TEA. Speaking of the TEA, in one of the recent episodes I finally heard them say that the TEA is a US agency. I was thinking it was a Colombian agency. So, in other TN's, they actually call the drug enforcement folks DEA, so why does this show mess with the acronyms?

I guess I'm in for the duration, since the show, someone mentioned, has only 40 episodes. But it sure is a turkey, in my opinion.

Novelera, Dayana is definitely young, same generation as CataM, Daniela, etc. She just started in the proxineta business. Her sister Liset is 16, a few years younger than she is. The last proxineta was Martina, daughter of Paola, who got mad at Titi, wanted to kill him, but he found out, and guess who ended up dead? The original proxineta 20 years ago was Yesica, who got CataG into the whole thing.

But Dayana wanting CataG dead so she'll be the "winner" of the beauty contest, rather than "2nd princess" - third place, is ridiculous (in real life, normal in this show). I mean, it's a stupid beauty contest, and it was somewhat rigged, to boot. Daniela actually killed herself 'cause she lost. Hmmm.

Right, I can just see Miguel giving Yesi conditional freedom, then they find out Chalo is already dead, then Yesica starts killing people.

Ironic that just as Mariana says CataM is probably unfaithful (why, cause she's beautiful - huh?), she gets the letter from Gabriel. Does she throw it away? I think she'll put it in her bag, and guess who might discover it?

Soraya said something which made me think she wants Santi and her to die together, if they can't live together. I might have heard this wrong, tho. BTW, Santi IS a coward.

CataG is now loved by Santiago, Albeiro (sort of secretly), Tony, Titi and who knows how many more. I agree with Halimacandy, those skirts are a bit short. Sure, she had to wear that when she went to visit Titi, but now she's quit the TEA, and next morning, same thing? BTW, we never even see her son, Sebastian, whom I guess is in Miami? Maybe the actor had some other commitments.

Maybe they use the name TEA (Traffic Enforcement Administration) because it's so incompetent, if they used DEA, they could get sued!

I'm not sure why Miguel would just put Cata's badge on the table, we want you back. He should actually use reverse psychology, say, we're letting Yesica out for helping us find Chalo, but I know you're done with the TEA, so bye!

the original barrio girls were,
Yessica, Ximena, Vanessa, Paola, Cata G and throw in Albeiro, Jota, and Bayron (Cata G's brother killed on a moto while being chased by the policia).

the girls all had daughters but the next generation Barrio girls were
Daniela (dead), Valetina, Adriana (dead), Martina (killed by Titi) and Cata M, and Hernan.
Martina took over for Yessica when she became a narco and Paola was in jail.

a subset is Mariana and Dayana (who didn't grow up with the barrio girls) Dayana appeared when Martina was killed, but is from the barrio because Liset graduated high school with Cata M, Vale, and Daniela.

Sigh. I found Lo Nuevo de Telemundo rather disappointing. For the most part, it was useful for letting me know what I don't want to see, which is almost everything they highlighted. :-( I already knew that I had no interest in watching Exatlón. Falco looks somewhat interesting, but I'd prefer it as a replacement for La Familia Perfecta rather than as a once-a-week weekend show. It's hard to believe that Exatlón really needs 2 hours per day five days a week.

The two planned novelas that I didn't immediately reject are something called Falsa Identidad and a new series of Betty La Fea, this time set in New York, I think. I was hoping that the continuation of La Reina del Sur would be upcoming sometime this year, but apparently it's scheduled to appear in 2019. My guess is that Betty La Fea, too, may not appear until 2019.

The source material for this one isn't Life on Mars, it's a German series called "The Last Cop." In Life on Mars the guy was going to an earlier time period, in this one he's in a coma and wakes up 23 years later having to get used to things like women being in positions in authority, the daughter he was carrying around being a grown woman, his wife married to someone else.
