Mi marido tiene más familia Friday 9/28/18 Capítulo 13 "Limbo"

Imelda is still pondering what to do. She talks to Blanca. Robert wants her to tell the truth. Blanca wants her to tell the truth, too. She will be relieving herself of a great burden. Imelda never thought it would end up like this. Blanca says Imelda did what she thought she had to do at the time. Eugenio is calling for Blanca and comes in. He wants to know what they are hiding. Imelda says nothing. Blanca says they were talking about "woman things". Eugenio has come looking for Blanca because the bakery is about to be overwhelmed by a large order for the church. They do need help as Imelda has suggested. Blanca suggests Polita. They could help her as well as she helping them since she is still unemployed.

Catalina is at her house cleaning up water on the floor from a leaking something above her. Hugo arrives with a summons. He is all upset because he is being taken to court. Catalina is angry. She wants to know what kind of monster Susana is.

Gabriel and Daniela are still with their broken down car. After working under the hood, Daniela tells Gabriel to start the car. Gabriel is all nervous and afraid it will explode if they start it. Daniela reminds him she has a lot of things to do. He still won't start it. Daniela says this is even more proof that they are in no way ready to be parents. Daniela has a lot of things on her mind right now like his sleepwalking. Gabriel insists he does not sleepwalk. He finally starts the car and it runs.

Catalina is hysterical. Hugo falls on the wet floor. Catalina will do whatever and even humiliate herself to solve the problem with Susana. A mother knows no limits!

Julieta does not want to talk to Casandra about her social life or about her own problems right now. Julieta stays in her office and talks to her digital assistant Bili. She feels like she has the in-law curse. Bili suggests she does a "cleansing'. Julieta says Imelda killed off her husband and now she feels like she is living in a horror movie. So many relatives is turning out to be a real nightmare, etc., etc., etc. Bili keeps trying to dial Susana Córcega. Susana finally calls Julieta to her office.

Crisanta is talking to Canuto outside of her shop. He likes her new bathing suits. They remind him of what she used to wear to the beach. She corrects him proudly saying she wore dental floss. She warns him not to change the topic. First he was tense and bored and wanted to go back to Baja California and now he wants to stay. He says it is just that he likes Oaxaca, remembered things from his past so he is comfortable here. Crisanta says he better not be going down the wrong road because, as she has always said, if she ever sees him with another woman she will hang her right in front of him. Yes! He gets it! Imelda arrives at her shop next door with Lázaro. Crisanta hopes to drive the "blonde" out of business very soon. Canuto tries to hide inside the doorway. Crisanta notices and tells him to get going because she has a lot of things to do.

On the phone, Blanca tells Roberto that Imelda told her everything. They both hope that Imelda just tells everyone the truth already. Robert says he told Juieta who didn't take it very well. He tells Blanca that Susana, Julieta's boss, is his aunt and Eugenio's half-sister. Blanca is shocked thinking of the implications and screams out "What?" drawing everyone's attention. She blames her outburst on a cramp in her leg.

Susana and Julieta are discussing the cookie situation again. Susana feels that she has to solve the issue in court. Julieta just does not get it. Hugo is her brother. Susana reminds her for the umpteenth time that is why she says you cannot mix work and family. Julieta insists there was no plot, conspiracy; it was an accident. Susana does not care. Julieta says she needs to recognize that she (Susana) has made this personal. Susana tells her not to speak to her with that tone of voice. She demands respect. Julieta demands respect, too. Susana sends her back to her work and sticks a lollipop in her own mouth.

Pancho is at the market thinking about Susana. Blanca arrives on the scene. She sees Pancho pay a man with a wad of cash and her eyes grow large. Pancho says she's not still thinking he is a criminal, is she? She says of course not. She wonders if all of the carts and equipment are his. Yes, they are. Pancho decides he is going to take this opportunity for them to get to know each other better. He is going to tell her all about himself. She just needs to follow him, follow the devil. Blanca plays and follows along.

Gabriel runs into Axel at the hospital. Axel is still baiting him. They get into it again. Gabriel reminds him that he is married to Daniela. Axel just laughs.

Blanca goes with Pancho but is still not sure about him. She finds out that Pancho is vegetable vendor and he is proud of it. Blanca is taken aback. Selling vegetable changed his life.

Robert looks at Canuto's wound. It is still no better. As a matter of fact, it looks worse than the first time he saw him. Diabetes is the culprit. Canuto tells him to call him "grandfather". Canuto starts talking about seeing his sons again and what emotions have been stirred in him. He now realizes what a terrible thing he did when he cheated on Imelda. He wonders what life would have been like if he had never left. Robert tells him he still has time to set things right. Roberto tells Canuto he has to respect Imelda's decision on when and how to tell her sons who he is. Canuto doesn't know how to handle how he feels. Robert suggests he tells his wife and daughter the truth. Canuto thinks it would be so much easier if Crisanta and Imelda did not work right next door to each other. Robert says that he and Axel will be there to support him. Canuto worries about Julieta's reaction and is concerned that he put Robert in the middle. He and Robert hug. Canuto promises Robert to do the best he can.

Julieta is filling in Casandra that Susana thinks that Hugo poisoned the cookies on purpose and that she Julieta had something to do with it. Suddenly she hears her mother's voice telling somebody to let her go. Catalina wants to go see Susana in her office. Julieta tries to to keep her away. Susana hears the ruckus and comes out. She and Catalina both recognize each other. Susana has been to her house and Catalina thought Susana was a refined woman. Once in Susana's office and in tears, Catalina admits to having "poisoned" the cookies. If Susana has to take it out on anyone, take it out on her. Send her to jail. Susana admits that she is not going to send her son to jail but she will be sure that his business does not continue to operate. A defiant Catalina threatens her with karma. Julieta finally drags her out. Julieta says they will solve the problem but not like that. Catalina is proud of putting Susana in her place. Julieta says Susana is . . . the mother of Dave's best friend and she cannot have Catalina fighting with her.

Sebas is still angry that he did no win. Frida tells him he has to learn how to lose. Sebas complains things just were not fair. He starts calling Julio and Lupita "nacos" (ignorant low class people). Dave manages to calm Sebas down. He reminds Sebas that he is good and that he saved him from the others

Basketball with Ari and Temo.

Crisanta and Imelda are at it again. Imelda says her clothing have better quality. Crisanta call her "la oxigenada": "proxy locks."

One of Robert's patients Gabi gives him her opinion of one of Daniela's toys that might be for sale for the benefit of the burn foundation. It is a moose and Gabi loves it. All of the kids will love them. Gabriel calls Daniela with the good news about the moose. He is all enthusiastic and romantic but she wants him to solve his sleepwalking problem so both of them can sleep better. For not believing that he sleep walks, she warns him to be prepared to see what appears on the social networks. She posts a video of him sleepwalking on her social media. That is what he gets for not believing her.

Blanca likes Pancho and wants to know his story. Pancho looks pleased. He will tell her his story little by little. That is okay with Blanca. He invites her for a spin in La Burra. Blanca accepts.

Robert is worried about Julieta's reaction to the Canuto news. Tavo tells Robert to let the Imelda/Canuto thing play out in its own time. It is not his responsibility even if he feels that it is. He needs to work with his wife and remember they are a team.

Pancho and Blanca go for a walk in a park. Pancho starts his story by telling how he saved a woman's life once. He saved her from jumping off a bridge. She was a multi millionaire and the owner of a huge cosmetics company. She made him the head of her company. Then he found out she was his mother. That is why he has so much money. She taught him that in business he should not think so much but lead with his heart instead. That is why he sells vegetables. That is only one part of his story. Blanca tells him about Juan Pablo/Robert being returned to her. They agree that in spite of the pain life delivers, it also offers you new doors to either open or close.

Susana sees how hard Julieta is working and finally acknowledges her and says that in spite of it all, Julieta is a good worker and they will form a good team.

Gabriel is angry about his sleepwalking video being posted to the internet. He is asleep and people are making fun of him. He wants it taken down because he is not a joke. Clarisa reminds him that if it is on the internet it is there forever. Daniela looks stricken and apologizes. Although he accepts her apology, Gabriel wants to talk to Daniela about "them" as a couple. Daniela looks peeved and tells him it is not the right moment. He wants to know when it will be the right time. He is thinking that it would be good to have a child. Why not? They are married and have a business. Daniela does not agree. They just got married and the business is not even stable yet. She tells him that is the problem: a baby is not a toy. Gabriel walks away.

Pancho tells Blanca that his mother is in heaven and she has sent an angel to take care of him and that is Blanca. She reminds him so much of his own mother. He wistfully looks at her. The same eyes and mouth. He knows he can always count on her. They hug like mother and son. Blanca asks what happened to the childrens' mother. Pancho had two wives. One was Temo's mother and the other was the the twins' mother Rebeca. Blanca asks where she is. Pancho cryptically says she is on a different kind of journey that separated all of them.

Helga comes to pick up Dave. She talks to Robert and takes him home. Julieta lets a call from Robert go to voice mail. He wants to have supper together so they can talk about things. Before she can decide what she wants to do, Casandra comes running with a summons for Julieta so she can testify about the cookies.

Clarisa goes to see Axel at work with loads of gifts. How did she know where to find him? She did some research. He is upset she just barged in. He could have been with a patient. She is clearly more interested in him than he is in her. He is her Ryan Gosling! Axel explains that they had a night and that was it. He hands her gifts back to her.

Julieta gets into it with Susana again about the summons. Julieta insists it has to be personal. Susana denies it. Susana explains that Julieta has to make a statement because she was the one who contracted the service. Julieta explains it was her BROTHER. Susana wants JUSTICE. Julieta says justice is not always blindly applied. Susana is sorry but if they are responsible they will have to pay for what they did. Julieta comments that by meddling in her family Susana just may be meddling in her own. Susana looks confused and does not understand how it could have anything to do with her family.

Finally we are finding out some facts about Pancho's past.

I wonder if Imelda will ever tell her sons about Canuto's identity willingly.

More mañana!

Thank you, Jarifa! Another great and fun recap. I have a great deal of trouble understanding Pancho, I'm glad you explained what he was saying :-)

I was sure that his money came from an insurance settlement, but my zero percent score on predictions still holds.

Poor Clarisa! Dumped again. But how to let her know that I'm available???

:-)

andy

Thank you for your recap, Jarifa.

Calling Imelda a bottle blonde/bleached blonde seems silly, since her hair is probably gray. Or white. Oh well, maybe the blonde color is added, bit not by bleaching. Whatever. LOL

The cookies drama has taken on a life of its own. Starting to see why Susana’s husband left for a whole other continent across the Atlantic Ocean!

The cookies drama may have been accidental, but what if what Catalina had dropped in there had been poisonous instead? They would have gotten into bigger trouble. Hugo and his wife should have been more careful in the production, and Catalina should have confessed the cookies were butchered. What they did was unprofessional and expecting to get off the hook so easily with just an apology seems wrong too. They need to own up to their mistakes, cause they weren't careful with the handling of the business to begin with. It could have been worse.

Catalina is incredibly dramatic and selfish. Julieta's hysteria and impatience has to come from there, it can't be easy to grow up with a mother like that.

Jarifa, "Limbo". Another perfect title.

Another outstanding summary.

"She just needs to follow him, follow the devil. Blanca plays and follows along" was my favorite of many...

"She corrects him proudly saying she wore dental floss". Well then. Perhaps Crisanta has given us the definitive reason as to why Canuto left Imelda. Sigh.

"Canuto thinks it would be so much easier if Crisanta and Imelda did not work right next door to each other". Ya think Canuto?

"He starts calling Julio and Lupita "nacos" (ignorant low class people)". Sigh. Sebas and his mother have much displaced anger. Did I imagine it or did Lupita make “Moondoggie” eyes at Sebas?

Is Tavo destined to simply dispense good advice without benefit of any personal storyline? Seems wasteful to me.

“Daniela looks stricken and apologizes”. I am sad about these squabbles. I don’t want trouble in their paradise. I’m afraid Axel will be offering comfort to Dani if things escalate. Ack.

Pancho is growing on me. A bit. And yes, it appears that his wife is somewhere. Alive.

"I was sure that his money came from an insurance settlement, but my zero percent score on predictions still holds". No Andy, I think that dubious distinction belongs to me :). I was positive Gabe was sleepwalking on purpose. Nopis.

"The cookies drama has taken on a life of its own" is spot on doris. Susana is relentless.

Robert smiles seldom now, doesn't he? I see tiny cracks in his relationship with Julieta and it makes me sad. This duo was the heart and soul of the first installment and this is hard to watch.

Axel was so cold to Clarisa. But dogged persistence seems to run in her and Gabe's family doesn't it? I loved her Ryan Gossling line. Keep strong girl. Someone waits for you.

Jarifa, thank you! This was great...

Diana

Jarifa: Your recap was spicy!

Diana: Why was Adel being an asshole to Clarisa ?

Steve, I think you mean Axel, right?

She put a lip lock on him when she, Cassandra, Gabe and Dani were at a bar. Things may have gone further - not sure.

The feeling was one sided. Axel clearly used her but Clarissa thought it might be the beginning of something more.

Diana

Crisanta on the beach with dental floss? My mind can’t erase that image!

Wow! The patio is alive today! Quite a lot of interesting reading here. A few goodies:

doris.: "The cookies drama has taken on a life of its own. Starting to see why Susana’s husband left for a whole other continent across the Atlantic Ocean!" Yep, although it could have been more serious as...

Anon 8:18: "Hugo and his wife should have been more careful in the production, and Catalina should have confessed the cookies were butchered. What they did was unprofessional and expecting to get off the hook so easily with just an apology seems wrong too." Definitely!

Diana, you are firing on all cylinders today! Thank you.

"She corrects him proudly saying she wore dental floss". Well then. Perhaps Crisanta has given us the definitive reason as to why Canuto left Imelda. Sigh. Yeah, you're probaby right. But I also had an image was of present-day Crisanta in a dental floss bathing suit and have been since trying to forget that image :-)

Did I imagine it or did Lupita make “Moondoggie” eyes at Sebas? She was definitely smitten, I wasn't sure if it was Sebas or Dave.

Axel was so cold to Clarisa. Was he ever! I'm getting tired of saying that Axel is a jerk, but Axel is a jerk. (I had to do a search to see who Ryan Gossling is. Clarisa, you are setting your sights too low.)

I am sad about these squabbles. I don’t want trouble in their paradise. I’m afraid Axel will be offering comfort to Dani if things escalate. Ack. Ack x 10^23! Better dead than Axel! Have I mentioned that Axel is a jerk?

Axel clearly used her but Clarissa thought it might be the beginning of something more. Have I mentioned that Axel is a jerk?

:-)

andy

Andy, your eye misses little (if anything).

Geez. Of course Dave was standng with Sebas so Lupita could very well have aimed her glance at him. It would certainly make more sense - Dave is a sweetheart and Sebas is well, not always the sweetest.

I don't think anyone has done anything bad enough to deserve Axel. Yet.

Hoping RgvChick, Niecie, Judy, Cynthia, Carvivlie and others will chime in.

Diana

Diana: Of course Dave was standng with Sebas so Lupita could very well have aimed her glance at him. It would certainly make more sense - Dave is a sweetheart and Sebas is well, not always the sweetest.

Maybe. But it could be Sebas. Lupita would certainly not be the first girl to ever be attracted to one of "the bad boys."

:-)

andy

Was this the same Clarissa, who was the Buji Rich Girl ?

Steve, yes, both Clarisa and her sister Casandra are back this season, but they have mellowed out quite a bit.

andy

Great job Jarifa! Loved how you included the "Ryan Gosling" line in the part about Clarisa and Axel. It's pretty sad that he turned her down like that. He didn't even act flattered.

I noticed what Crisanta was telling Canuto about "I'd better not catch you with another woman" she used the term "sin verguenza". This leads me to believe that that he has cheated on her too.

Susana actually looked frightened when Catalina threatened her with "karma". I laughed because the true teaching of karma has to do with reincarnation and how one gets punished (or rewarded) in their next life when reincarnated.

I wonder what is is going to take to stop Susana from destroying Hugo's business? Most likely she will have to learn the truth about her family. Will she really want it to get out that she is suing her niece's brother? Canuto will probably have something to say about this to her.

I am wondering why Canuto isn't on meds for his diabetes. If he were on meds, then the skin would be healing. Sounds like out of control diabetes.

Thanks, Jarifa. Great job. Good to the last drop.

Good morning, Patio!

Wondering if the cookie crime will actually go to court. Susana has fully recovered from her bellyache. Doris, ITA no wonder her ex headed to the other side of the world. Susana should be willing to negotiate with Hugo for a settlement and not trying to put him out of business.

Canuto starts talking about seeing his sons again and what emotions have been stirred in him. He now realizes what a terrible thing he did when he cheated on Imelda.

Really, Canuto? Big Whoop-dee-do. I don’t think there’s anything Hugo can do to win his sons' respect. Forgiveness? Maybe.

She reminds him so much of his own mother. He wistfully looks at her. The same eyes and mouth. He knows he can always count on her. They hug like mother and son.

Uh-oh, Robert will be so jealous about Blanca having a "like a son."

I vote Lupita made Moondoggie eyes at Sebas. My take is that even though he called her and her brother “nacos,” any attention from her crush is a plus in her book. Pancho’s kids have such confidence, stupid insults roll right off them.

Kudos to David for standing up to his friend. I could see Robert in him at that moment.

... Canuto can do to win his sons' respect

Good Sunday morning, patio peeps! Thank you, Jarifa, great recap! My apologies for being somewhat MIA. We've had a rainy season in the RGV and I thank God for that every day. My goats have an abundance of grass to graze on, but I also have an abundance of weeds in the flowerbeds and overgrown grass and bushes in the yard; so that is where I am spending more time.

Anon 8:18, ITA with your statement about the cookies, but, IMO, Susana is taking it a bit too far. A call to the health department would have been sufficient...at least Susana wouldn't get all the blame for shutting Hugo's business down.

Diana, "Axel was so cold to Clarisa" Yes, he was! Andy, DITTO on every time you said Axel is a JERK!

And AN\Ndy, I think it was Sebas who was getting those "Moondoggie" eyes from Lupita, too. Hadn't Lupita already met Dave before...at Blanca's house?

Cynthia, thanks for explaining the true teaching of karma. Susana did look like she had been cursed. And, I think Canuto isn't on meds because he doesn't want his family knowing that he has diabetes.

Have a great day, Patio!

Ha! Andy, i just made your name longer...for emphasis only, not to split your personality LOL :-)

Good morning Patio...or is it afternoon already? Bleary-eyed from late, endless game between Ohio State and Penn State last night. As much drama and hysteria there as there was in this episode.

Gorgeous day here and I'm wanting to do yard work. Really! And can't. No gardening allowed for three weeks after cataract surgery. And since I'm having the second eye done soon, it means basically 6 weeks. So now I'm dying to do yard work. It's become forbidden fruit instead of a chore. Go figure.

With all the drama in this one, I remain very worried about the dripping water in Catalina's house. Is there a bathtub overflowing? A busted pipe? These days I worry more about those disasters than infidelity or romances that can't get started. Ah, the different stages of life.

Glad you got some necessary rain RgvChick and that your goats are flourishing. And Jarifa, thanks so much, as always, for the recap.

JudyB who has great vision in one eye now, but is sick to death of eye drops! (and yearning to go pull weeds and trim bushes)

JudyB, if you're in my area after you heal from your cataract surgeries, you are very welcome to come do some yardwork...I have plenty and don't mind sharing :-)

OT- SusanLynn, did you watch any Hallmark yesterday? I saw two pretty good movies based on true stories--
"Front of the Class": Brad Cohen who, despite being challenged by Tourette's Syndrome at a very young age, defies all odds to become a gifted teacher; and
"A Smile as Big as the Moon": a special education teacher, helps his students, & trains them, & looks for ways to take them to where they are dreaming to go-- space camp!

Good afternoon, everyone! My football game is over and the Bears had an outstanding game. I better savor this one because you never know . . .

Anyway, thinking back on this last week, on my "Good" list are: Pancho, Blanca and Crisanta. On my "Bad" list are all of the males in Susana's life, Canuto, Sebas, Axel and her ex Vicente.

Andy, yes, Pancho has a very interesting way of expressing himself. When he speaks, sometimes I can hear the "hee haw" of his Burra.

doris, interesting and true take on the "proxy locks" comment.

Anon, ITA that Hugo should have been more careful in his cookie production and is also unrealistic, in this day and age where unfortunately people sue at the drop of a hat, being so shocked that that Susana has taken the legal route. Does he carry liability insurance?? I remember the old days (Pre 1980's?) when every "accident" didn't need a person to be responsible/liable for it.

Diana, sorry, I think that Lupita has good taste and was making eyes at Dave. At least I hope so. It would be nice for Tavo to have his own story line. He is on my good list.

Thanks, Steve.

Cynrhia, that was a good observation about Crisanta calling Canuto a "sin vergüenza". It very well could be that he has not been an exemplary husband to her either. I will second the thanks for your explanation of karma.

Niecie, ITA that Robert will be very jealous if he feels like Pancho is horning in on his mother's attention.

RgvChick, here is hoping you will be able to enjoy your Sunday!

JudyB, it is so good to hear that your surgery went well. There is nothing like a good game, though. : ) That was a huge amount of water leaking from somewhere at Catalina's. I am sure we will find out more about it or at least I hope so.

Thanks for stopping by the patio everyone!

Rgv Chickie, Diana, Niecie, and Jarifa: I'm not sure who Lupita had eyes for in that scene, I'll just wait to see. What really struck me about it was the age of these kids and that they are already having serious crushes on someone. Starts early, doesn't it?

Chickie, I'm glad your goats are happy and doing well. How are the chickens who like to roost in the trees? Is the night prowler still coming by?

I'm looking forward to this week's episodes, especially Pancho. He seems to be in the middle of things, being buddies with Blanca, on the outs with Robert, and... what? with Susana. And we still don't know the story of his wife or ex-wife. And how he will react to Temo's crushes, but he's a good guy so I think he'll be OK.

:-)

andy

Cynthia, sorry my fingers made a mistake on your name.

Not sure how old the kids are in this one Andy, but I had crushes, and happily reciprocated crushes, by the time I could toddle out to the park sandbox. And by age 6, heck, practically an engagement. However, since we moved every year when I was little, nothing came of those early relationships.

JudyB, OK! You certainly have me beat. At age six I still, mostly, thought girls were more trouble than they were worth.

I did eventually change my mind.

:-)

andy

So plenty of time to be serious...for the girls at least. Guys seem to lose interest between 6 and 12 I think...then suddenly! step back!....

Will Imelda finally tell her sons the truth soon? Sure hope so.

I wonder who is more stubborn: Imelda or Crisanta. It like the battle of the Titans in their own way.

With other tv seriously lacking, I cannot wait for tonight’s episode!

Time for coffee and to get going.

Well Rubi is not as good a telenovela as Teresa...far from it. But it's still an interesting study of a beautiful sociopath and the havoc she wreaks in people's lives. And I always enjoy Ana Martin.

OT-Andy, my tree-roosting hens are doing okay. I haven't spotted Phantom in a while, but a couple weeks ago, a great horned owl took a chick and a hen (different days). I had never seen an owl before that! Then, night before last, I heard a pack of coyotes howling; so my night prowlers/predators are never-ending :-( I'm just glad I decided to go ahead and build another coop near where these chickens roam.

JudyB, an almost engagement at 6 years old? Wow! From what I remember, my first crush was on Little Joe (on Bonanza) and I was probably 8 years old; and the word engagement was not in my vocabulary...at least not for me personally LOL

Just got home from work and enjoyed reading the new comments.

Judyb, I am Sending out good vibrations to you for speedy healing. My sister had cataract operations in both eyes. How was it? The thought gives me the willies!

Football...Hub is heartbroken that the Eagles lost yesterday.

Crushes...I had many . Some on the little dudes in my class and some on tv stars...who didn't love Little Joe! BUt my big puppy love was David in sixth grade ...who introduces me to his wife at every class reunion as his first girlfriend. I used to kick him in the shins and threw a bracelet he gave me out our second floor classroom window. #younglove

You guys are cracking me up. Well RgvChick, here's how it was. We were living in a rough little mining town in Pennsylvania that year. Those who think children are innocent didn't know that town! But my swain and protector was the son of the Presbyterian minister so he was a good guy and our affection was "formal" in the Spanish sense. Serious with long term in mind! Still think about him sometimes. He was a dear.

Susanlynn, your romance sounds stormy! Wow...as for cataract surgery. The results are great, the process not so much. And I don't handle medication very well. They give you tons of sedation so you won't twitch while the doc is doing the unthinkable to your eye. And I still feel like I'm loggy...even days afterwards.

But the improvement in vision is astounding. So....

Judyb...my sister just went in for an additional laser treatment because her vision got cloudy. I have not talked to her to find out how this second procedure went. They say it takes quite awhile for the effects of anesthesia to wear off.

As to my stormy first romance, at the last class reunion , we were sitting at the same table, and I told our classmates that we had a love hate relationship in high school following g our sixth grade crush. He added, "yes, I loved her, and she hated me!"

Well, he sounds like he has a good sense of humor and is good with quips. But clearly you married the right guy! Your husband sounds like a keeper; and you clearly are. So all good.
