Mi Marido Tiene Más Familia, Capítulo 17, Thursday October 4, 2018; Getting ready for the truth to set them free!

Julieta faints from an anxiety attack at work and is transported to the hospital. Casandra frantically tries to get hold of Robert, but he’s left his phone in his car. Finally she gets hold of him when he gets back to his car and he goes over to the hospital. He finally arrives to go see Julieta and decides it is another anxiety attack like she has had before in the past.

Blanquita is crying and Blanca and Eugenio don’t know what to do and are trying to bring down her fever. Blanca wants to give her a cold bath. Then Pancho comes over and suggests a home remedy with potato slices placed on the soles of the feet. He goes back to his truck to get some potato to use. Pancho places potato slices on the bottom of her feet and then they put socks on her.

Gabriel goes to Cklass looking for Julieta, but finds out she is in the hospital.

At Catalina’s place, Hugo is crying because his cookie business has been shut down. Next, a bearded guru comes out to tell Catalina that the “energy has left the house and that house is useless. Catalina thinks it’s a universal conspiracy. The guru looks at Hugo and says that “also your business is dead, but there is hope.”  Exasperated, Catalina looks at the guru and says, “If you can’t help us, then who can?”

The potato remedy worked! Blanquita’s temperature went down to 98.4.

At the hospital, Robert tells Julieta that she got too worked up over everything and needs to relax. Then her phone rings and it’s Susana. She tells Julieta that everything has turned into an emergency at the office. Julieta just grimaces.

Axel arrives at the hospital in a motorcycle that Gabe really admired. Then they start getting snarky with each other. Then Gabe finds his sister Casandra and then Catalina arrives. Julieta walks out feeling fine.

Pancho tells Julio he must work with with Sebastian. Susana calls Pancho and thanks him for the time he spent with her.

At the Córsega home, Julieta and Robert present Blanca and Eugenio with the security cameras so that they can check up on the children while they watch them. But Blanca is offended and thinks it’s very invasive. Julieta explains it’s to make her feel like she can see the children during the day and communicate better.

Blanca asks Julieta to come to her room so that they can talk. Eugenio is not too sure about the camera either.

Susana finds the old photo on the floor and questions Canuto as to who this is with him. He tries to tell her it’s an old photo from a long time ago where he posed with an old friend and her children. But Susana is not buying it. He claims he’s had it in a box with a lot of other old photos. Then Crisanta comes in and he hides the picture. Susana wants an answer now, but Canuto says he will talk with her later, alone.

Blanca has a list of conditions before she will accept the cameras. They range from religion to schedules, clothes, spending the night, and homework help. Julieta agrees, and Blanca consents to the security cameras.

Robert and Eugenio talk and Robert tells him how much he loves him. Eugenio tells him he wishes that his father were still alive to see how they all turned out.

Susana, at home checks in on Seb and he promptly complains about being paired with Julio Lopez. Seb calls Julio a bad name and Susana tells him it isn’t nice to say that word. She offers to help him with his homework but Seb says no, he is going to ask his father because he has more time. Susana looks crushed.

Robert talks to Imelda and tells her that he had to tell Julieta that Susana is his aunt. They talk about how she needs to right her wrongs and her lies. Robert convinces her to tell the truth and she says she will tell her sons the truth. She hopes that love is stronger than mistakes.

At Susana’s place, Axel comes home and Susana tells Axel she believes her father is hiding some very serious things. She wants to know if he knows anything, but Axel says no. Then she asks if the girl she saw was his girlfriend. Axel says relationships are fairy tales. Susana tries to hug him, but he just pats her on the arm.

Dani and Gabe argue about his laundry errors, he washed red with white clothes and ruined them. Then they kiss and make up and he tells her how much he loves her.

The Cooper family gets ready to leave and run into Pancho in the hallway. He tells them how he did a home remedy with potato on Blanquita to help her feel better. Julio and David don’t seem to get along.

Frida wants to discuss kissing with Blanca. But Blanca is going out with Daniela and she tells Eugenio to explain kisses to Frida. She wants to know the age to have the first kiss and asks him when he had his first kiss. Then he tells her that after getting married is the time to kiss and also tells her she is much too young to be discussing these things. She should play with dolls.

Pancho’s twins tell him how much they miss their mother.

Axel is exercising and Clarisa calls him. She’s out and having a fancy drink. She wants to know when they can have a date.

At the Cooper home, Catalina tells Robert how her home is a mess and she can’t stay there. She finds out that the kids are going to be watched by Blanca temporarily, but this throws Catalina into a tizzy.

Eugenio gets ready for bed and Imelda knocks on the door. She tells him she wants to talk to the three sons in the morning privately. She wants to tell them the truth about something important

Thank you, Cynthia!

"Axel arrives at the hospital in a motorcycle that Gabe really admired." Yeah, he was very impressed and I didn't understand that. Since when is Gabriel interested in motorcycles?

Poor Robert had to sit through another Mama suegra / Julieta confrontation. Talk about uncomfortable. Still, Blanca and Julieta eventually came to an agreement! Wow!

And now Canuto and Imelda are pretty much forced to come clean about their past. That should be exciting.

:-)

Thanks Cynthia. Sounds like another episode jam-packed with temporary crises. Boom boom boom. I got exhausted just reading about it. But happy to hear that Blanca and Julieta have some kind of agreement....however temporary!

Looks like it's going to be a cloudy day here in Ohio. A hyper friend of mine used to find cloudy days very calming, so wishing you all a calm, tranquil day, whether sunny or overcast.

Thank you for your recap, Cynthia. I’m still in Europe, away from TV access, and appreciate the recaps you and Jarifa are writing for us.

So, Julieta fainted and went to the hospital. Were any tests run? Like . . . a blood or pregnancy test?

Blanca is one to talk when it comes to “invasive.” LOL

Cynthia, great title and exceptional recap. Screen shots always incredible.

Axel shirtless. Why??? Nothing to see. Nothing.

“Julieta walks out feeling fine”. Huh? Am I being overly suspicious when I say her fainting like that (and for a few moments being able to process but unable to speak) means something is amiss? Agree doris, no tests???

“Pancho comes over and suggests a home remedy with potato slices placed on the soles of the feet”. I thought that was what I saw but then said nahhhh. Thank you for clarifying! Hadn’t heard of that home remedy.

“Blanquita is crying”. Of course she is. The little child is beyond a reluctant actress. Please let her retire.

The scene with Catalina, Hugo and the guru was beyond strange. So, it’s still raining? I’m surprised the house hasn’t washed away. Stop crying Hugo. Buck up man. You are almost even with Blanquita in number of tears shed.

I sort of understood Blanca’s reluctance regarding the cameras but Julieta just wants to see her children. Andy and Judy, joining you in being glad they were able to work it out. Progress.

Eugenio’s advice to Frida made me smile. Typical grandfather.

I cringed at Sebas and Axel rejecting their mother's affection. Many children ache to to have their mother's kisses and hugs. Made me very sad.

But your recap made me happy. Thank you Cynthia!

Diana

Cynthia: You've really outdone yourself in this recap.

Diana: I also cringed watching both Sebas & Axel rejecting their Mommy. It was difficult to watch & wondering what caused them to do that ?

Steve: Susana's boys feel neglected as she spent so much time at work. Yet, they adore their father who chose to work continents away. A noble cause granted but...

Axel in particular should be ashmaed of himself.

Thank you, Cynthia, for the excellent recap. The screen cap was wonderful.

Poor Julieta with that anxiety attack. Anxiety attacks can present in so many different and often extreme ways.

I loved Pancho’s potato cure.

It seems that Blanca and Julieta have reached a new and good place in their relationship. I could understand both sides of the “baby-cam” issue. It made me laugh that Julieta singled out poor LIVER as the food she didn’t want fed to her children being the liver liver that I am.

Now that Susana is suspicious of Canuto and the photo, the reveals cannot be far.

Gabriel does literally nothing and then when he does like transporting the alebrijes and here doing laundry he costs them MONEY they do not have and that Daniela is the only one earning. He needs to grow up ASAP. I do not find him cute or charming.

Diana, Ewwwww! Is all I could think when I saw Axel shirtless.

Looks like rain here this weekend. Maybe it will wash the pollen out of the air, I hope. On to café!

Thank you, Cynthia! Splendid recap and your choice of a screenshot was excellent!

Andy, " Since when is Gabriel interested in motorcycles?" I thought the motorcycle thing was just an innate guy thing...Kirby?? LOL

Diana, "Axel shirtless. Why??? Nothing to see. Nothing" My first thought was 'Oh, pleeease put a shirt on that!" teehee :-) and "The little child is beyond a reluctant actress. Please let her retire." I cringe every time that little girl comes out. I think someone had mentioned a replacement...that would be a really good idea.

I was really surprised that Julieta agreed to Blanca's conditions ..I even thought that maybe she was still having effects from the Valium or whatever she was given for her panic attack. Julieta's justification for the monitors is understandable, but I bet she's going to be criticizing whatever she sees through the monitors.

It's nice and sunny in the RGV with a small chance of rain due tot he sea breeze. Oh, and if you live in Minnesota, careful with those drunken birds...did you all hear about that? Birds are feeding off of fermented cranberries that can make the birds disoriented. Sounds like a joke, but it isn't!

Have a great Friday, Patio!

uh, oh . . . Liver LOVER makes more sense.

Those drunken birds sound like a real mess in more ways than one! Glad I am not there.

Ahhh Jarifa. My mother was a liver lover too. I remember the smell of liver and onions cooking...

RgvChick, I have mentioned having Blanquita retire several times. I don't have kids so not sure if that intense, heartbreaking crying is abnormal or not, but as it is brought about by being forced to sit with and be coddled by non-family members, the solution is to take her out of the picture.

I hadn't heard about the birds! Not good. There is red tide causing death to fish, whales dying and washing up onshore, shark attacks, tsunamis, disasters and so much other devastation. I think the planet is in tears.

Diana

As for Blanquita, according to the IMDB cast list there are two little actresses playing her part. They are not twins or related.

Ack. So there are TWO miserable little tykes Jarifa??

Diana

Could be. 🤔

Cynthia, thank you so much.

Hub and unused to watch our granddaughters here when they were babies, but now we go to their house. We agree with their mother on most points and try to follow her wishes, but I think that it would feel very weird to have cameras in the house .

Diana, I always love your observations.

Judyb, I hope that you are healing quickly.

Regarding the liver , my mother always made everyone's favorite meal for his or her birthday. My sister and brother-in-law had the same birthday and loved liver. Hub and I are not liver fans , so we would just eat the onions, potatoes, and bacon !

Hmmm...I grew up on a potato farm , and we ate potatoes in some form everyday, but I never heard of that potato folk remedy . I suppose the potato slices are cooling. Hub's maternal grandmother used to paintin his tummy with iodine when he had a stomachache.

Thank you everyone. I did my best on this even though I am going through a hard time right now. So if I miss something or misunderstand something, please forgive me. On Tuesday, a good friend of my family suddenly and unexpectly died. She was only 34 years old and a married mother of a 2 year old daughter. I'm just in shock and trying my best not to be crying all the time. I wish this was a novela, but it's not. Real life can really stab you and it just hurts. We do not know the cause of death yet, but my guess is that she had a brain aneurism that burst open. If only potato slices could fix this tragedy...

I have never heard of putting slices of potatoes on the soles of the feet to bring down a fever. But this is a TN and I'm glad it worked. That baby they are using for "Blanquita" seems to really cry a lot. She is a pretty little girl, but it seems to me she does not want to be on the set either and would be much happier at home. Maybe she has a "stage mom" who wants her to be famous.

Catalina and her guru were so funny! She is so superstitious and Hugo seems to believe this bunk. He needs to "man up" here and stop whining so much.

Cynthia, so sorry about your friend .So young . Tragic. Sometimes, real life is sadder than these telenovelas.

Cynthia, thanks again for the recap, especially since you were so distressed. I'm sorry to hear about your young friend. As we all know, life is not always fair, not always fun.

Rgv Chickie, no, motorcycles are not an innate guy thing. Motorcycles come up in conversation occasionally and most guys I know are not very interested. There are those who are extremely interested, of course, and they are often also into snowmobiles, fast boats, fast anything, etc. But it's far from universal. About the only universal guy interest seems to be women. Even the outlier 5% are nonetheless "interested" in women, just differently.

:-)

Thank you for the tip about the drunken birds. Very funny!

Back on topic: I'm looking forward to tonight's episode. There should be some interesting reactions tonight. Susana already suspects something, and she believes Axel (hiss!) knows something about Canuto's secret that she doesn't.

andy

Cynthia, thanks for the recap. I am so sorry about your friend. My deepest sympathy.

I don't like the cameras. It's understandable that Julieta wants to see the kids while she's at work, but the cameras are not just going to pick up the kids. Blanca and Eugenio and all the rest in the house have a right to their privacy.

My mom used to wrap onions in cloth and tie it on our foreheads to drive down a fever, but I never heard of potatoes on the feet.

Yep, unbelievable that they didn't run a pregnancy test on Julieta.

Cynthia, will keep your friend in my prayers.

Death is hard enough when someone is gravely ill. But when life passes so suddenly without loved ones having the opportunity to say goodbye is unbearable.

My deepest sympathy.

Diana

Oh my Cynthia...of course you are distressed and heartbroken. What a tragedy for someone to be taken so young, and to leave a young child behind as well. So much pain in the world.

I remember once having to write a recap after coming home from the funeral for a friend. It was actually a blessing to be forced to concentrate on something else, at least for an hour or two. But the sorrow is there, waiting for you when the task is finished.

Prayers for you and for all her family.

Cynthia - I hate that you’ve lost a friend so unexpectedly. It has happened to hubby and me a few times, and it is far more painful, not to mention the absolute shock, than losing someone after a long illness. (((Hugs)))
