Mi Marido Tiene Más Familia, Capítulo 26, Thursday October 18, 2018: Who are you and what are YOU doing here?

We left off yesterday with Canuto apologizing to his sons, their forgiveness, a family hug and Imelda beaming in the background.

At the other Corsega home, Susana is promising to be a better mother to Seb. Axel overhears, but says, “I’m a little suspicious, but thank you for the effort Susana.” Something about Axel seems a little softer toward his mother.

Inside the bakery, Pancho is writing a letter to Rebeca. He is telling her all about Oaxaca, Blanca and the Corsega family. In the letter he acknowledges she isn’t ever coming home. He begins to cry and Blanca walks in. She puts her hand on his shoulder to comfort him, then hugs him while he weeps.

Pancho apologizes for being there, but Blanca says it’s okay because they are friends. Pancho says it’s so hard to be strong for his family when he feels so badly. Blanca tells him that he can trust her. He shows her the letter he was writing and weeps while telling Blanca that Rebeca died and it was all his fault!

At dinner, the Coopers and Aguilars discuss being with in-laws and what to do with Catalina. Juleta’s phone rings, like “speak of the devil.”.  Catalina wants to know about putting on music while the children sleep. Julieta tells her they need to sleep in quiet.  The question is, what to do with Catalina?

The next morning the Corsega family is gathered at Eugenio & Blanca’s place for breakfast. Robert says that they need to make a lot of noise and brings out party hats. Robert, Daniela, and Julieta start announcing the “one and only” LINDA who runs in to make her grand entrance to the family! Everyone is glad to see her and they all hug and kiss.  The family sits down to breakfast. Linda is very tired and Blanca suggests that Linda go and rest in her old bedroom. Linda makes the comment about being independent and finding her own place to live. Blanca then tells her that at this time, the family has to be very united. “Why” says Linda. “Because”, says Blanca, “We just found out we have more family.”

Later, Robert accompanies Imelda to the shop, but then who shows up at the same time but Susana and her mother Crisanta. Then Imelda realizes that Susana is Crisanta’s daughter. Imelda then refers to Crisanta as “La otra” (the other woman) and starts getting very upset. Robert then brings her inside. With Crisanta also very upset, Susana asks if she is okay to work. She decides to take her mother away from this mess for now and take her to the office.

Inside, Imelda complains to Robert about Crisanta and starts to recall all the bad times so far. She thinks this is punishment from God for all the wrong things she has done in life. Imelda is pretty angry with Crisanta for being the woman who stole her husband’s love.

Outside the school, Seb and David are trying to figure out what kind of relatives they are to each other. Julieta tells them for now, just to think of each other as cousins. She tells Seb that he needs to ask his mother to explain it all to him.

Catalina barges in to the Corsega home saying she is ready for the war to begin. Linda has her face covered and then she shows her face to Catalina. “Hello ex mother in law” she says. Catalina is none too happy to see Linda and tells her she is the one who broke the heard of her youngest offspring. “No, that’s not what happened” says Linda. “In fact, it was in reverse.” Of course Julieta is watching all of this in a nonchalant manner.

Susana has taken Crisanta to her office at Cklass. Crisanta tries to explain that she didn’t know that Canuto had been married when she met him in Baja, California. She thought he was a single man when she met him at a dance when he asked her to dance with him. Crisanta thought he was noble and impeccable. Julieta knocks on the door and needs to talk to Susana about David and Seb’s relationship. Susana explains to Julieta she is trying to gently explain everything to her mother as her mother is quite fragile right now and is not aware of all the other Corsegas around.  Julieta advises that just to tell the truth is the best thing, but Susana wants to wait till her mother feels better. Julieta says she doesn’t usually take any sides, but right now, she has to stand by her husband and his grandmother. Susana understands and says, “It seems that our conflict will never end.” “Precisely” says Julieta. “But right now there is another conflict. David and Sebastian are now aware that they are family.” They try to decide what to do, but Julieta says that they cannot prohibit their sons from being friends because they are best friends.

Outside the church, Blanca and Pancho are walking together. Blanca wants to know how Rebeca died and why does he believe that it is his fault. He becomes emotional again and says he will tell her, but only her. After he tells her the story, he also said that he had left everything behind, his friends, his business where he worked with his wife. He just needed to start over again. He also tells Blanca that he hopes that she does not judge for anything. She looks at him and says, “Oh, I really appreciated your telling me. You suffered a great loss.”

Later Amalia brings Imelda to her office. Imelda’s first words are, “Where are Susana and her mother?”

Crisanta wants to know why she came there and why it is in life that they have to even share the same street. But Imelda tells her, “That’s not all we share. We seem to share the same husband!!!” Crisanta is taken back and has to sit down. She shakes her head and says, “It can’t be you. You are a tsunami.”  Imelda fires back and says, “You are the one who stole my love and my husband! And right now I really hate you more than anything or anytime!” Julieta tries to get her to calm down and tells Imelda she is going to get herself sick. Susana tries to calm her own m other down and wants Imelda to leave the room. But Crisanta says, “No one leaves!” So the two elder women sit down facing one another.

Crisanta looks at Imelda and says, “But you are blonde! I thought Canuto never liked blondes!” Imelda retorts, “I always thought he preferred a woman of class!” They continue throwing shots at each other with Imelda saying that Crisanta stole her husband. Then Crisanta says, “Now that I see how difficult you are, I can see why he left you!” They both sit down and Imelda exclaims they are like oil and water. Julieta tells Imelda that this is enough and this conversation has to end. She escorts Imelda out. Cristana is in tears and Susana says that no matter what, she will stand by her side.

At the bakery, Canuto and Eugenio talk and Canuto brought a gift for him. It’s the toy truck that he promised Eugenio when he was a little boy. Eugenio is visibly touched and remembers how he waited for his father to come home that day and he never returned. Canuto explains that in these days he has come to realize what a wonderful woman Imelda is. Then he lays downs the bombshell: “I’m still in love with your mother.”

Axel comes barreling in on his motorcycle and nearly runs over Linda.

He swerves, but falls of his bike and is down on the ground.

In the emergency room, Linda tells Axel, “It’s super ironic…the orthopedic doctor with a broken bone!” Axel is, “Ha, ha, ha!” Linda tells him, “Now that the emergency is over, I guess I’ll leave.” Axel says, “You only came in to make sure I didn’t die.” She introduces herself only as “Linda” instead of Linda Corsega. So he is yet to find out who she really is.

Dani and Gabe talk about his sleepwalking and how it keeps her up at night. She suggest that the sleep in separate rooms.

Back at the bakery, Eugenio is telling his brothers that their father said that he never stopped loving their mother. Polita is just walking in and upon hearing this, drops a tray full of breakable items. She apologizes, but Eugenio tells her it just isn’t working out to keep her working at the bakery. Pancho and Blanca walk in as Polita says, “Are you getting rid of me?”

Pancho comes up with a plan so that Eugenio doesn’t really have to let go of Polita. He has a plan to help Eugeno expand his business but joining up with his fruit and vegetable business.  Blanca seems to think it’s a great idea. He takes Polita aside to discuss a creative plan together. But Audifáz is worried about their financial situation.

Julieta drives Imelda home and takes a call from Robert. She tells Robert that she has decided not to let David go over to Sebastian’s house. Robert is against that decision but Imelda supports it.

Then Imelda walks into the bakery and she is livid. She calls out Canuto’s name and says, “How could you be unfaithful to me with THAT woman?” Another scene ensues, but outside, David is crying with Catalina because he has to eat at home instead of going to Sebastian’s house. Julieta tries to explain to him that the family is going through a bad time right now. But David starts to have a tantrum, saying that Julieta has just thrown him to his grandmothers and because of that, she can’t tell him anything! Inside, Imelda lays into Canuto about his infidelity. Pancho decides to leave along with Blanca and some of the others. Imelda cries out and asks in what moment did he stop loving her?

Julieta talks to David outside about his behavior and they have a heart to heart talk. She tries to help David understand that both families, theirs and Sebastian’s are going through a difficult time. But all in all, she lets him know that he is the most important thing in the world to her and Robert. “More than Blanquita?” says David. “Both the same. You are both the most important ones in the world to us. That’s why we work, to make sure you have everything you need. One day you will grow up and maybe you’ll have this same talk with your own son too.” Then they hug.

Axel is in Robert’s office when Axel’s father surprises him and walks in. Robert welcomes Dr. Legoreta. Later, they go over the funding for the foundation and things just don’t look good. They can work all night on it if they have to. Robert stops and asks if he can say something personal to him. “Well, you and I are family. You are my uncle (in-law).

In the bakery, Imelda wants to leave. Eugenio wants to know more of their story, how they met, etc…Imelda, still irritated, says, “That love doesn’t exist. It never existed.”

Upstairs, it’s still the battle of the grandmas. It is decided that they will have Blanquita decide who makes the best baby food.

Someone is at the door and Blanca answers it. It seems to be Ignacio, Frida’s father. He says he wants to take Frida home with him.

There is a knock on Robert’s office door. Vicente (Dr. Legoreta) goes to answer and it’s Julieta. Except something is up here. It seems like Dr. Legoreta and Julieta take one look at each other and seem to know each other. Wonder where this is going…

This was a combined episode consisting of #26 n #27

Thanks for the screen shots and the recap Cynthia. Is the motorcycle accident an example of the writers doing a "meeet cute". Pretty extreme! Now that we know Pancho is a widower he's definitely available for our snarky Susana. Good to know.

TGIF everyone!

Hopeful that one day Susanlynn will be able to rejoin our Patio. Sending love and prayers and more love to her and all her family.

Well now we know where sebastian gets his aggression from. And maybe Suzies so cold and harsh after building up defenses to her ex husband's poor behavior, for years.

No idea why Rob considers vicente his political uncle, when vicente and Suzie are divorced? He could have just told him about the family history, but there was no real need to give Vicente a family label.

Imelda, Suzie and Julieta need to let the kids just be kids and not drag them into the family dispute. Also Imelda needs to stop thinking that the other corcegas are beneath her. The children of Canuto's "marriage" with Crisanta aren't at fault. And being illegitimate doesn't make anyone lesser than others. Imelda and Crisanta need to stop fighting over Canuto too. They both threw him out of their lives, theres no need to be petty and drag out why he chose one over the other. This won't ever end though, when everyone finds out Canuto is after Imelda again. How nice that he always jumps ship when things dont work out. This guy doesn't know what love is. Otherwise he wouldn't have been a bigamist with Crisanta, and he wouldn't be running to get Imelda back now, after so many decades and a whole other family.

Does Canuto consider that the imelda he married so long ago is so far off from the Imelda of today? Not sure why anyone would want to get involved with someone like her at this rate. Crisanta definitely has the better personality, though this might change now that she's hurt.

Also the cheating story doesn't make sense. If canuto and crisanta net in baja California, how did imelda find out about the cheating? Crisanta said that when she met him he told her thatbhe wanted to start over all over again, which sounds like inelda had already dumped him. So....

Are we ever going to find out how Pancho accidentally killed Rebecca?

Cynthia, another fabulous recap – your screen shots – incredible.

Loved your wry “Of course Julieta is watching all of this in a nonchalant manner”.
“I’m a little suspicious, but thank you for the effort Susana.” Axel, she is ypur mother, not “Susana”. Blech.

I enjoyed the hats – great fun. I’m enjoying Cat and Blanca’s grandmother battle too.

I’m not enjoying Cristana and Imelda’s heartache over the so not worth it Canuto.

I rarely criticize Eugenio but firing your daughter in law? She could work behind the counter, couldn’t she?? The entire family knows they don’t even have enough to eat.

Axel and Linda? Yawn.

Judy, I’m also glad Pancho is free to be with Susana.

“Dr. Legoreta and Julieta take one look at each other and seem to know each other. Wonder where this is going…” Wow – those were some fiery looks!

I’m leaving for an out of state wedding so look forward to catching up when I return.

Thank you Cynthia.
Diana

Being family shouldn't automatically entitle anyone to leach off of other family members. It did look wrong for Eugenio to fire Polita, but she's simply not good at her job, and doesn't even seem to be trying to be good at it. She's always distracted, focusing on others' problems, and seems to be living up in the clouds most of the time. She also wrote off Eugenio when he chastised her for breaking the china, claiming it wasn't as big a deal. Really? She keeps breaking things, burning things, not paying attention, and they kept giving her chances. Maybe Eugenio can give her one final real warning, but if she doesn't shape up, she gets what she deserves. Eugenio shouldn't have to put up with her incompetence out of family guilt. In general, both Polita and Audifaz really need to step it up, and stop behaving like overgrown kids. I think part of the reason they behave so irresponsibly is because they're treated like kids, and they've depended on others for far too long.

Daniela clearly isn't happy with her marriage. It's not about monotony or the sleepwalking anymore, it's about Gabriel simply cruising around not doing anything. Another overgrown kid heading the same path as Audifaz.

Thanks, Cynthia for making sense of this mish mash combo plate with your excellent recap and screen caps!

So Linda AND Ignacio are back.

Pancho said he was going to tell ONLY Blanca about what happened to Rebeca. Does that mean he is cutting out the audience as well? I had to play back the scene to make sure I hadn’t missed anythng. LOL

Diana, have a good time out of town!

Cynthia: Did Jade Fraser dye her hair blonde ?

Jarifa: What did happen to Rebecca ?

Good Morning, Patio. This is my THIRD try a trying to post a comment…so I ‘m keeping it short…ARGGH! Cynthia thank you!

Alex, combined episodes already...ARGHH!

Diana, “Axel and Linda? Yawn.” Ditto! Will they hold back when they find out they are related?

Jarifa, hated seeing Icknacio back and wanting to take Frida…Blech!!

JudyB, “Hopeful that one day Susanlynn will be able to rejoin our Patio. Sending love and prayers and more love to her and all her family.” Ditto on that too.

Steve, we may never find out hat happened to Rebeca and why Pancho blames himself for her death...thanks to Looneyvision!

#thoughtsandprayersforSusanlynn

Thank you for your recap and screenshots, Cynthia! I hope you are 100% fully recovered after the BP episode earlier this year.

I am sending love, prayers and hugs to our Susanlynn.

Oh noes! Both not-so-Linda and Ick-nacio have returned. I might need my telenovela beanie hat and something stronger than tea in my mug. Grrrrr!

While I truly do believe it is possible for a person to love two people at the same time (wasn't there a movie or book with that plot?), Coward-uto did NOT HAVE TO ACT on it by deserting Imelda and lying to Crisanta all this time, either. #dirtbag #spineless #gusano!

Well, the plot just thickens with Susi's ex and Juli having crossed paths in the past. This might be interesting. An old boyfriend perhaps?

I'm looking forward to watching this over lunch today.

Just finished watching. Julieta's phone holder with the horns coming up behind was just too perfect during her FaceTime with DQCat! 😈

Imelda venting her spleen on Canuto would have been fun if she had whipped off her wig and hit him with it.
🤡 The hair and makeup give her a clown-like appearance, bless her heart.

Vicente looked more affected by Julieta than she seemed by him.

I have to wonder just what Imelda did to enrage the makeup department. They are so having their revenge.

Polita seems to be a world class klutz, but Eugenio should not fire her. Find something she can do well, or at least well enough.

Susana is definitely warming up and becoming a bit more motherly with Sebas.

It looks like the back to back episodes start tonight, Friday. Too much of a good thing?

andy

So if Rebecca died, why can't the kids talk about her? Can't selfish Pancho see that his kids are hurting just as much as he is, if not more? They don't even seem to know that she's dead, just that she "may never come back" ... maybe she died like Canuto died and she will pop in at a very inopportune moment for Pancho and Susana. Maybe that's why Viewerville didn't get to see his story to Blanca. Maybe I just have telenovela-itis!

Andy, I have never been a fan of double episode watching or recapping. It shouldn’t last too long which is good. 😊

Thanks everyone for your comments. Jarifa, good luck tonight with this episode being 2 hours. I hope we don't have to put up with that for too long.

Doris: I am mostly recovered from Bell's Palsy. My mouth still feels like I've been to the dentist (like the novocaine is still wearing off), but otherwise, I feel well. I can smile and my energy came back in July. I think the worst thing was not having energy to do anything and having to sleep so much.

I know it seemed harsh for Eugenio to fire Polita his sister in law. But it seems like she was costing way more money in damages than she was doing to bring in income. Hopefully, Pancho and his business sense can come up with a good plan to keep Polita employed.

Thanks, Cynthia. Terrific recap and pics.

So cute when Sebas tried to figure out his family tie to Julieta.

Cynthia, thanks for the recap and screenshots. It looks like most of next week is more back to back episodes while we wait for some new shows to begin.

That being the case, why in the world did they combine two episodes???

andy

Andy, who knows? I found it hard to follow last night when I was doing the recap and I felt like things were out of place. Later Jarifa told me that two episodes were combined and then it made sense as to why I was having trouble following the whole thing.

My favorite part was the grandmas making baby food and Blanquita eating. She is such a little cutie!

Andy: Two words: No Guns.
