Mi Marido Tiene Más Familia, Capítulo 35; Thursday October 25, 2018; Come Together, Right Now!

Julieta talks with the investor and gets good news. The investor was impressed that there are so many dedicated working mothers there at Cklass and is impressed with Julieta’s handling of her own emergency. He signs the contract.

At Susana’s home Susana and her mother discuss the situation about the bakery being in Canuto’s name. Sebas is in the background saying how much he misses his grandfather.

After David is all fixed, Robert video calls Julieta and she apologizes for not being there. Blanca wants to talk to her privately. Blanca apologizes for failing her on the job and feels very guilty. Julieta is not angry with her not even a little bit. (It’s a video call and she puts the phone to her ear at first.) Julieta also tells her how grateful she is to her for all she does and Blanca thanks her. Robert reminds David that he is still being punished and his accident has nothing to do with his current punishment.

At the bakery, Eugenio is angry because Tulio went to speak with Susana and her mother. Tulio says he is trying to do something to unite the family. Imelda tells them to stop arguing. Audi has a flying that says something like “Find the answers in yourself.” Tulio says that it’s just a scam to take people’s money and this is just full of fantasies. He says love does not pay the bills!

Vicente goes to visit at Susana’s home. She asks how much longer he is going to be around before he goes back to Africa. She also says that right now, Sebastian really needs him. Then Pancho shows up and Vicente says, “Why am I not surprised?” Susan tells Vicente to go see Sebas in his room.

Pancho, with food containers in hand, asks if this is a bad time to visit. Susana says to not worry and wants to know what he brought. Pancho says, “Since you don’t have the desire to go out, and if the mountain won’t move, I’ll move the mountain.” He comes full of different foods for her to heat up for dinner. She then tells him that she met with the lawyers regarding her father’s estate and now she and her mother the new proud owners of the building where he lives. Pancho become excited and thinks that she wants to displace the Córsega family, but she assures him that the thought left her mind. He then asks if her mother is doing alright, so Susana says she is very hurt knowing that her father died not loving her. Pancho tells Susana that he really likes and respects Blanca, but also feels a lot of affection for her too.

As Pancho is leaving, he has Susana laughing. She asks him what made him so strong, was it when he lost his mother. Pancho’s face falls and he changes the subject saying he needs to leave.

Temo talks with his friend online and tells him he “likes” Ari. Lupe overhears him. He tearfully confesses to her that he is gay and she accepts him as he is. Then Julian barges in.

Frida texts her “secret” admirer, wearing her new sunglasses. She sends pics of herself wearing the sunglasses.

At Gabe and Dani’s place, Dani tells Gabe how Ignacio came for Frida and how angry it made her. They start fighting about household chores. She tells him he does nothing to help. He’s feeling very inadequate without a job and thinks he’s quite useless. He goes to wash the dishes and then she says she is going to cook dinner but there is nothing in the fridge to cook. Gabe looks in his wallet and has no money. Dani is frustrated. Later she needs to use the bathroom, but Gabe has inadvertently stopped up the toilet.

At church, Imelda and Crisanta are at church together. Crisanta drops her purse to get Imelda’s attention. Crisanta confronts her and starts in on her, practically accusing her of stealing Canuto away from her. [I thought it was the other way around.] Crisanta says that in front of God there will finally be justice!

At work, Julieta is very tired. Robert comes by with David to show her that he is just fine. Then he throws her a bunch of flowers to catch, telling her how much he loves her. She wants to know how things are going with the family and Robert says there is going to be an intervention with the family.  Later, Julieta and Casandra are working together and Linda comes in and asks for a job. Julieta explains to Linda what kind of dedication it takes to work there.

Audi and Ari talk and he shows Ari the flyers. He is unemployed and needs answers. Ari says he is going to go out for the evening with Temo.

Susana plays video games with Seb. Julieta calls to let her know that everything is fine and the good news that the investors signed on the contract. She goes back to playing video games with Seb.

At Pancho’s he asks Lupe what she and Temo were discussing in his room. She stammers and doesn’t want to say, but then blurts out that she “likes” someone.

The Córsega family all meet together in Blanca and Eugenio’s living room for the “intervention.” Blanca mentions Frida and her father and to remember how Frida feels. Then Eugenio mentions she feels responsible for his father’s death. Audi starts dramatically talking about same sex unions. Blanca thinks they should not get ‘married’. Julieta with her modern beliefs thinks it all should be as anyone chooses and doesn’t want her son exposed to this stuff. Julieta says they cannot be united if they don’t respect each other’s thoughts and beliefs.  She makes mention that they are all there because of the lie concerning one man, who left a divided family.

I think it was only one hour tonight. I DVR'd it and only got one hour. But when I went to the guide, it seemed there was only one hour. So hopefully I got most of it. My DVR kind of did some "skipping" and I feel like I missed a couple things. So please fill in what I missed if you saw it.

Cynthia, thank you for doing this recap for us. You are right, it was one hour, followed by a Latin Grammys' show. I don't know if it was the actual Latin Grammys or a show about them. They had a segment on Vicente Fernández, a singer and a real galán in his heyday. I knew a couple of ladies who practically swooned over him back when. Time flies.

I'm glad Tulio wasn't working against his own family, but he was drinking something again last night. The TN could be setting us up for a 'Tulio has a drinking problem' story.

Good grief, but that bakery looks ridiculous with all that pan Bimbo, more like a bakery outlet.

The hand on the cell phone receiving Frida's selfies did not look like the hand of someone her age. Didn't we already get this PSA in "Enojándome del Ramoon"?

more later...

andy

So glad that you caught a break and only had one hour to recap tonight. Susana playing video games with Sebastian sounds like a real breakthrough. Frida's situation is beginning to sound like a storyline in Que Padre tan Madre to me. But they do a lot of those on Univision.

I'll look forward to seeing this "sometime" since at lunchtime I'll be at the car shop. More fun. Not to mention the bill! Thanks as always for the snappy recap and screenshots.

Fabulous title and screen shots Cynthia. Enjoyed every single word.

"Then Pancho shows up and Vicente says, “Why am I not surprised?” was one of my favorite moments of the night. Susana smiles the most when she is with Pancho. An odd pairing but it might work. Provided Pancho can ever speak of his wife's death, let alone accept it.

Susana's relaxed curls and elegant less structured fashions (particularly the lovely wide leg pants) seem to signal a definite softening. I'm all in favor. And I believe Susana had little or no makeup on. The woman is beautiful. Period.

Andy, I was wrong in that Tulio doesn't seem to be working against his family. Yes, he seemed to be savoring that drink a bit too much.

Following in the tradition of always being wrong, I wondered if Icknacio is texting Frieda and will try to make it appear as though she has no supervision as a ploy to win custody? I really don't think we need another near abduction, right?

I don't understand how Crisanta could possibly own the building when her marriage to Canuto wasn't even legal. That aside, I don't like the turn Crisanta is taking as she seems set on vengeance. I understand she is angry, given the timing of her seeing Canuto declaring his undying love for Imelda in his dying breath, but...

Julieta was calm, cool and collected last night. I love that she assured Blanca she wasn't upset although Blanca's guilt was hard to watch.

Cynthia, thank you so very much. A real treat.

Diana

Thank you, Cynthia. Excellent as always.

Andy, sure looks like Tulio is headed down the alcoholism PSA, Frida down the stranger danger on the internet PSA as Judy B mentioned. As for Gabriel and his lack of energy and ambition, there must be a PSA waiting for him somewhere down the line.

JudyB, hope the car shop visit is a short one.

Okay, so the plot called for Imelda to run into Crisanta in the church and there is almost nobody there but Imelda “just happens” to end up next to Crisanta, or anybody for that matter, when probably a hundred other spaces are available. Give me a break! The church should have been crowded if they wanted to do that. One of my pet peeves in any show.

Congrats to Robert explaining to Dave his punishment was still on since it had nothing to do with his accident.

Yes, last night seemed almost incomplete with just one episode but I cannot wait for that feeling again on a Monday. 😊

Diana, yes it was nice to see Julieta react rationally about Dave’s accident and not take it out on Blanca. I felt sorry for Blanca. At least Dave was honest and owned up to it being his own fault.

Thank you for your recap, Cynthia, and the title that evokes the Beatles!

Def sounds like the Frida storyline could be another PSA about stranger danger in the social media, etc., We got that in PATM (Super Dad) so it might be a big problem in Mexico these days. I like Diana's theory that it could be a device to show Frida's lack of supervision, but all the kids have cell phones these days . . . Where is my telenovela beanie?

Didn't Tulio always have a drink in his hand during season One?

Writers are having a field day with the bakery ownership question. Knowing absolutely nothing about property law in Mexico (or any other laws there), seems to me the question hinges on whether Imelda legally had Canuto declared dead, quietly divorced him, and whether the "legal" spouse on record inherits it all. Sure looks like Cowardo died intestate (those laws vary by state here in the U.S.) but that might not even be an issue in telenovelalandia. I'm going to sit in the sidelines and not try to play armchair quarterback on the bakery issue. Take that, writers! LOL

As for Canuto dying intestate = "Who? me? Die someday? Eh, ew, uncomfortable details I don't want to think about. Or deal with. I'll avoid that for some other time."

Cynthia, thank you so much for the recap. My station announced that the Latin Awards Show would start at 8(C) so I didn't even bother checking to see if the show was on...OOPS!

I am pleasantly surprised at Juiieta's reaction about Dave's accident.I thought surely she would take advantage of the opportunity to revisit the nanny issue...glad she didn't; they have enough problems right now.

Diana, "I don't understand how Crisanta could possibly own the building when her marriage to Canuto wasn't even legal." Me neither! I can understand why Susana would have PARTIAL ownership of the building, but Crisanta???...I should think not, because as you say, her marriage to Canuto should not be legal. And I certainly don't like that she may use that to get back at Imelda. One thing is to take vengeance on the woman who took your husband, but what she may do will affect many others.

Doris, yes, Tulio usually had a drink in hand in Season 1 also.

JudyB, good luck at the car shop. I know how "unfun" that can be, especially when you take out the wallet :-/

Still thinking of Susanlynn. If anyone has contact with her, please tell her she is in my thoughts and prayers.

What I understood from Wednesday's episode was that Canuto did leave a will, and Susana told the lawyers that they didn't want to deal with that right now, please let us grieve first. Then the lawyers brought up the property that was not included in the will.

Does the will go out the window if Crisanta's marriage is invalid? I figure that if the other Corcegas weren't visited by the lawyers holding that will, then Canuto never included his sons in that will, nor did he fix his will after he got reacquainted with them. The will cannot be read without all of the members receiving something being present. It seems like Susana's family is only inheriting.

I think Imelda did legally declare Canuto dead, because she said she had an official death certificate episodes back. Maybe that's why Canuto wasn't flagged when he got married to Crisanta? Is this something to be resolved in civil court? Imelda was essentially wanting a divorce with a move like that.

I don't think Imelda ever had Canuto declared legally dead. She pretended he died in an accident so she couldn't have gone to court to have him declared legally dead, like someone does when a person has been missing for 50 years. They were never legally divorced, so the marriage between Canuto and Imelda would still be valid according to law. But who knows what TN law will say. Crisanta probably doesn't know that when she married Canuto, he was not divorced and never received a legal divorce dissolving his marriage to Imelda. Canuto had the will designate what Crisanta was inheriting, but anything he owned during his marriage to Imelda, would rightfully belong to Imelda. Somewhere along the line, Crisanta is going to have to find out that Canuto was not divorced when he "married" her.

Anon 11:41, Imelda did say that she had a death certificate, but she also said it was falsified; so I'm pretty sure that would indicate that Canuto was not legally declared dead.

I don't see why Canuto's will would be thrown out the window. He had full knowledge of his first family; if he didn't include them in his will, he did it purposefully.

It could be that Canuto was able to get another marriage certificate when he married Crisanta since they married in a different state. According to what I have read, Imelda could have the second marriage annulled, but Crisanta may retain some rights since she didn't have knowledge about the first marriage. I would think that Susana and the three sons are definitely heirs since they are all Canuto's children. It will be really interesting to see how this mess will be cleared up.

Cynthia, I was writing while you posted. I do hope that the writers stick close to what real law dictates. I'm always intrigued by the laws in Mexico and how they differ from US law. But then, as you say, TN law usually prevails (sigh)

Thanks so much Cynthia!

I hope the property thing is settled soon. It annoys me but the writers have run out of ideas to create "drama" between the two families.

Linda at CKlass? Juli should end that idea now. She'll be a disaster. Such a selfish attitude always.

Writers, please stop making Gabi look like a fool! He never was one.

Carvivle, Writers, please stop making Gabi look like a fool! I agree completely. He has his problems but he's not that bad. Why, never having made a pizza in his life, is he applying for jobs such as making pizza? The writers are really pounding Gabi... and Audifaz too.

OT: Rgv Chick, here's another urban goat story. "Romeo would not take his eyes off me. ... I hadn’t expected to meet a horny goat called Romeo during my visit to Atlanta."
All this and kudzu and goat yoga, too!
https://www.theguardian.com/cities/2018/oct/25/goatlanta-why-so-many-goats-city-atlanta

So what's happening with Ari and Temo? Why has Ari never had a girlfriend? Never mind that the "right" girl has not come along, most guys that age are more than happy with the "wrong" girl, and if she's also a "bad" girl, so much the better.

:-)

andy

Rgv Chick, I'm not sure that anyone on this current line even has susanlynn's e-mail. I've "known" her over 10 years (as has Niecie) and Judy, even longer.

I am a bit concerned that she hasn't posted something. Anything. I'm hoping she will be able to drop by, see all the supportive comments and know that she is very much missed.

Carvivlie and andy, I'll join you in loathing Gabe's "blithering idiot" portrayal. Many of us have said he has definite talent, sales perhaps his strongest suit. Clarissa is right there with him. If only the 2 would join forces and come up with something. Fashion might be ticket.

If the writers are trying to have Dani fall out of love with him, there surely must have been another avenue to accomplish that.

Diana

Thanks, Cynthia. Fine recap

How old is Lupe anyway? So she's the first one in the family to know Temo is gay.

I know Tulio is the bad brother, but I like him thinking practically about the business and the building. Audifaz is too much in the clouds. And Eugenio wanting his mom to reunite after all those years with the husband who reappeared ONLY because his daughter got a job there got on my last nerve.

Carvivlie, Andy, Diana, I'm joining you loathing what they've done to Gabe. I'm also ticked that they have not written his (hot) dad into the story.

Drove me crazy that during the videochat to reassure Julieta that David was okay that Roberto hadn't replaced David's bloody shirt.

Audifaz out of the blue ranting against same-sex unions seemed out of character for him. Sounds like a setup and not in keeping with his character.

Surely Susanlynn knows we're praying for her comfort and she'll check in with us one day. Susanlynn, you are deeply missed.

Hi patio:

I emailed SusanLynn a few days ago to tell her that her Caray friends are thinking and praying for her and her family. I also mentioned that in view of everything, she need not reply, we just wanted her to know that we miss her.

kj

Temo and Ari...this a couple to root for! Temo acted magnificently in his divulging his secret to his younger sister...More Temo...less Linda,

Thanks Kirby.

Diana

Thanks, Kirby!

andy

Hello, all. I have not been watching the show, but I dropped by here today to let you know that I am still on my feet....but brokenhearted, lost, and confused. I have spent the last two weeks planning the service and going to meetings about stuff. Lots of people..relatives, high school friends, umpires , coworkers, neighbors....all with the same story.... The nicest man they knew...happy, positive, kind ,outgoing, easygoing, ...and he was mine. It was overwhelming .I am exhausted and lost. Thanks for all you prayers and kind thoughts. I appreciate your concern.

Kirby, I did not see the email. What was the name you used? I do not open anything I am not sure of. Thanks for your concern.

Oh Susy, the one at msn.com. It is soo good to hear from you.

I agree with all of you that Gabriel should not be made to look like a bumbling fool! As far as I know, his father had said last season that he was educated in the finest schools. So he has to have a college degree. So why isn't he looking for a position in business since he does have experience. Instead of looking for a job as a used car salesman or making pizzas, he needs to go to a large business to put his marketing talents to work. Heck, I bet he'd be good at real estate as well. I do not like the way they changed Gabriel's character this season, it just isn't right.

I like how Pancho has been such a good influence on Susana. He seems to soften her up and make her a likeable person. I always say that if your significant other can get you to laugh, it's always a good thing!

It would have been from kirbyjohnson.com.

Anyway, glad you are doing as well as can be expected. Thanks for checking in.

kj

Kj...did not see it, but thanks for the thought. How about posting some of your beautiful sunsets\ moons. I am struggling with my abnormal new normal.

Susanlynn, it always great to hear from you. Take good care of yourself.

Susanlynn: I am so glad to hear something from you as so many of us here on the patio have been worried and thinking and praying for you. I can only imagine what you are going through right now and what a shock it is to your system to lose the love of your life this way so suddenly. As a Christian, I am praying for God’s grace to be upon you to help you get through these days and to give you comfort as well as peace. May the Lord and His Holy Spirit be your guide and savior right now and give you strength to get through it all.

Susanlynn, thank you for letting us know that you are still hanging in there. Take care,

andy

Andy: Human trafficking is a huge problem right now in Mexico. According to this article I'm posting, Mexico ranks 5th globally in human trafficking. So we saw it as a storyline in "Papa a Toda Madre" where the character Valentina thought she had an online "boyfriend" whom she thought as a 17 year old and it turned out to be her mother's thug boyfriend who planned to sell her to traffickers so that they could quickly get out of town. It was only when "Dulce" found her daughter's picture on her boyfriend's phone that she left him and called the police on him. I imagine we will probably keep seeing that story line over and over again and I think it is good so that girls who watch these programs in Mexico will get a clue that they could be targets.

Thanks for the link, Cynthia.

:-)

And then:

Susanlynn - thank you for checking in with us. I cannot imagine the sense of shock, loss, and grief you are experiencing. You are in my prayers. (((Hugs)))❤️❤️❤️

I'm with the rest if you, in that I'm very unhappy with what the writers have done with Gabe's character, this season. I couldn't bear to see his body language while watching last night's episode, when Dani was chewing him out. Audifaz is incompetent and worthless as a breadwinner, please don't add Gabe to the list!!!

What on earth was that fringey black thing Linda was wearing on her neck? Ew. Que anti-fashion!!!

...

behind the boat

?

!

Susanlynn, Thanks so much for dropping by amidst everything. Keeping you in prayer. (((((( ))))))

Cynthia, thanks for the link.

I don't know what to make of this craziness, or other craziness, in Mexico. Nor in the United States, nor in the world.

Some days it seems that humanity is just taking giant steps backwards, and often enthusiastically.

:-(

andy

I agree Andy. It's mind boggling to think about how some people can be so evil! There always have been very evil people in the world, from ancient beginnings. The old Canaanite peoples used to worship a god named Molek and sacrifice their children to this god by thowing the baby on a molton hot alter to burn to death. Girls have been stolen from their families and sold into prostitution for thousands of years but it's only lately that this sex slavery has come to light especially with how easy it is for predators to pose online and fool an innocent young girl.

Yes, agree with all of you about Gabe. When Dani met him, he was RUNNING his father's restaurant. He was a spoiled rich brat in a sporty red car and wearing his Italian loafers, but he was a very successful and confident, well groomed individual. Marriage shouldn't have changed him for the worse. No me gusta!

SUSANLYNN!! ((((HUGGGSSSS)))))) I am SO glad to hear from you. You are often in my thoughts and prayers. May God give you strength and lead you in this new path He has for you. Please know that you patio family is with you in spirit. There is a blessing that one of our priests would always use and I say it on a daily basis. Hope no one is offended with my posting it:

MAY GOD BE ABOVE YOU TO BLESS YOU, BELOW YOU TO SUPPORT YOU, BEFORE YOU TO GUIDE YOU, BEHIND YOU TO PROTECT YOU, BESIDE YOU TO COMFORT YOU, AND INSIDE YOU TO GIVE YOU STRENGTH AND JOY.

Susanlynn, my dear girl...

May heaven heal your broken heart and God give you strenth to endure.

I know you are in a fog, trying to cope, to understand.

I hope your family envelops you with comfort, love and support.

I have a sign at my desk "Pray hardest when it is hardest to pray".

God bless.

Diana

Dear Susanlynn, so relieved that you have checked in. As you know, we have all been praying and hoping that you are receiving the love and support of friends and family as you weather this heartbreaking loss.

A French philosophers once said "There are some good marriages, but no delightful ones."

He was wrong.

Your marriage sounded delightful. Still full of romance and joy after many many years together. We basked in your happiness, just as we now share in your grief.

And Rgv Chick, thanks for adding that beautiful blessing. Our Lutheran pastors say a similar one and it reminds me of Psalm 139 that is a reminder of how deeply God knows us.

Susanlynn, He knows your heart and He knows your grief. And He is walking beside you now.

Diana, I love your sign as well. And sometimes, when we are so overwhelmed we cannot pray, we have to depend on others to carry us in prayer.

We love you Susanlynn. Now and always.

Chickie and Diana, thank you for those prayers. I am going to write them down in my book of favorite quotes. I am clinging to the phrase that helped me the most when our baby son died. "Love is stronger than death" and the third law of thermodynamics "Nothing is lost, only changed." Some time I will share the four quotes that I displayed with pictures of Hub and our family at the service .

Thank you, judyb, you and I have been floating together in caray cyberspace for a long time and might actually know more about each other than people in our everyday lives. We do not see each other here, so we can on!y focus on and absorb people's thoughts , opinions, personalities , and feelings.

I was blessed to have met him at 17 and to love him even more at the end than at our beginning . I will never get over losing him. I hurt.

Susanlynn, thank you for letting us know how you're doing, even as you are in pain, in a daze still, not knowing what the next step might be. I believe in God's love and know that it will surround you at this most difficult time.
Please believe that we here on the patio care about you and are wishing you comfort and strength to bear this burden.
