Mi marido tiene más familia Monday 10/29/18 Capítulo 38 Yela Darkens the Door--OR--Crisanta's Shellfish Dreams

More yoga that is not working to calm Imelda or Blanca down. In the midst of all of the mayhem. Pancho stops by with the twins and hears about the missing Linda. When Crisanta sees Pancho, she proclaims that the apartment is useless and decides to live with him in a real "home sweet home". He doesn't look too happy.

Back at the department store, the security detail gives Axel seven minutes for his "mommy" to get there and pay or they are calling the police. Axel apologizes because he thought it would be "fun."

Susana calls Crisanta to let her know what is going on with Axel and Linda. Crisanta tells everyone where Axel and Linda are. They spent the night together at a shopping center. Blanca wants to rescue Linda. Audifaz criticizes Eugenio for not being strict enough with Linda. Robert reminds Blanca that Julio and Dave are suspended. Everyone leaves for work or school or the shopping center.

Susana bails out Axel and Linda. The security staff reminds Axel and Linda that they committed a crime. Eugenio, Blanca and Robert arrive. They want to know what Linda was doing there with her cousin. The security people have over heard that they are cousins and wonder what is going on, too. Axel and Linda lie to their parents and  just sound like they are making excuses.

Crisanta appears in Imelda's kitchen looking for something to make her "olla espresso" coffee in. Crisanta reminds her she is not going anywhere. This is fun considering what she saw Imelda doing at the dance. Imelda sees herself as the injured party. She is not responsible for a thing. They are about to come to blows when Audifaz breaks them up. Crisanta tells Imelda to go get her lawyers because she will be staying. Imelda wants Audifaz to leave so she and Crisanta can have a duel to the death. They are old enough. Imelda tells Crisanta she will see her in court since she will be protecting her family's inheritance with all she has. If Crisanta wants a war, she will have it. That is just fine with Crisanta, if Imelda wants a war when she will give her one and she will be sure not to take just half of the property but she will take everything from her.

Julieta is at work with the the kids. She has a visit from a banker whose bank holds her mortgage. As they have also notified her by mail, she is behind two months in her payments. She tries to explain they have been through some hard times. He wants to set up a plan with her so the bank does not have to seize her house. Julieta thanks the banker for his visit.  He leaves. Casandra has a message for Julieta. Dave's mother Isela has come to her office and wants to see her. Julieta goes to see Yela. Yela knows that Dave;'s birthday is coming up and she wants to know how he is doing and also see him. Julieta says Dave is doing fine and wants to discuss a couple of things about "their" son. Julieta calls Robert and tells him that she is concerned about the effect Dave see his bio-mom will have on him. Robert says it will be worse if they do not allow him to see her because he has a right to spend time with his birth mother. Since Dave is suspended and at work with Julieta, Dave can see Yela right there. Dave and Yela are very happy to see each other. They both miss each other. Julieta has a hard time witnessing the encounter and how comfortable mother and son are with each other. .

Audifaz is on the street giving his book away. Suddenly he sees another flier that says "Your salvation is near". He looks upwards towards heaven. He then goes to the address on the flier. He enters the building. A voice tells him to sit and that it knows that he has come looking for answers. He needs to close his eyes and connect with himself for a few minutes.

Eugenio and Blanca tell Linda and Axel that they are no good for each other. They could have ended up in jail. Eugenio wants them both to promise not to see each other again. Susana and Axel agree. Linda doesn't because she is an adult and she will do what she wants. No, she is not selfish. She and Axel are connected as cousins and are adults. Eugenio mentions that things even got more complicated with their grandmother. Robert tells Susana that Crisanta moved into their building. Susana had no idea her mother would ever do anything like that. Eugenio says it is revenge. Susana remembers what her mother said about revenge. Axel thanks Susana for getting him out of this mess. Susana asks for his help in talking Crisanta out of her revenge. He will do his best. He offers to pay her back but she is not interested. Blanca tells Linda that the conversation about her outing isn't over yet. They have rules in their home to be respected.

Crisanta wants a tour of the building. Will Imelda come with her or will she do it alone? Imelda says to just forget it. Crisanta reminds her that she is there because it is her right and she is entitled to half of the property. Imelda laughs and says she won't let Crisanta nose around. Imelda asks Pancho to take Crisanta off her hands. Crisanta manages to stomp on Imelda's foot on the way out. Imelda calls Tulio to come right over.

Out on the side walk in front of their business, Blanca and Eugenio are talking to Linda. Linda, of course, is sorry and from now on will just focus on her work. Blanca and Eugenio want to know when she leaves, where she is going, with whom she is going and when she will be back. Linda goes crazy. It is not fair!!!! Blanca tells her what isn't fair is that they were worried half to death. Linda just makes light of it all and sarcastically asks to go and get some supplies to start converting the attic space into a work place, etc. She leaves. Eugenio and Blanca continue talking about Crisanta when Blanca's reading glasses are knocked off by a guy on a bike that just goes whizzing by. He pauses long enough to call them "old turtles" and tell they have to move faster and to accidentally step on and crush Blanca's glasses. Blanca tells him off and then cries.

Pancho takes Crisanta to the bakery. Susana calls Pancho looking for Crisanta and, following Crisanta's request, he says he doesn't know where she is. Later, he tells Crisanta he doesn't like telling lies. She sees it as a white lie nothing more. Blanca and Eugenio come in and ask Crisanta what she is doing there. She is just becoming familiar with HER property. Crisanta would like to see some changes like maybe having a shellfish bar!

Tulio has arrived and tells Imelda that this is exactly what he wanted to avoid. Crisanta will not stop until she has taken it all. By not letting him act, they are in the mess they are in. Yes, he is still drinking. Tulio is worried that if they don't stop Crisanta all of Imelda's secrets will come out.

Lupita tells Temo she will keep his secret. They hug and he thanks her.

Linda and Daniela catch up with each other in the attic apartment. Linda describes her predicament with living at home. She needs to become independent very quickly so she can move out. Daniela talks about the problems in her marriage and how depressed Gabriel he is. They are not getting divorced but living apart so they both can find their own path. There is nothing else to do at this point. Daniela has her doubts. Linda gets a text from Axel saying that he had a great time with her and "obviously" they will be seeing each other again. Gabriel is installed on the couch with his stuffed bear thinking about Daniela wanting to live apart.

Susana finally gets in contact with Crisanta when she visits her at work and wants to know what she is doing becoming embroiled in more problems. She wants her back at home. Crisanta is doing this for Susana and her grandchildren. She is defending their inheritance. Susana wants no money or property from the other Córcega's. They do not need it. Susana asks what she would do with her half of the property of she were to get it. Crisanta says she would put in a shellfish shop. Susana says that is wrong because Canuto bought the building for his first family; so it belongs to them. Susana asks if she is going to sleep in the same bed as Imelda. Crisanta says no, she has something better. She is staying with Pancho.

The lawyer has come to see Robert and the news is not good. The lawyer says that determining the ownership of the building could be complicated. First, they will need Imelda's original marriage certificate and then there is the matter of the false death certificate.

Dave is still visiting with Yela when he asks Julieta if she can come to his birthday party. Julieta says of course she can. Next, Dave asks if his REAL dad can come, too. Does Yela know where he is? Nothing follows but silence and then Yela changes the subject. After sending Dave out, Julieta tells Yela that Dave has been asking a lot about his bio-dad. Yela tells her that Dave's dad is not a good man. He is in jail.

What a day for Julieta: first the bank rep, then Yela and then the news about Dave's father being in jail. They just don't give these characters a chance to breathe before hitting them with another possible disaster.

Yes, I did enjoy Crisanta annoying Imelda and then stomping on he foot. I like Crisanta.

Be the law on Imelda's side, I'd rather watch Crisanta win. Imelda is insufferable. Maybe there's some type of abandonment law in mexico that annuls a marriage, and Crisanta is therefore protected by common law? Since she's spent over fifty years with canuto? Whatever the case, beat that clown! She started it all anyway.

Axel and Linda: no one ever lets anyone finish the phrase "los primos se..." lol

Susana shouldn't have cut Axel the slack. He should work twice as hard now. What kind of dr is he? If he had gone through criminal court that would have affected his job.

Linda go back to italy already. Why doesn't eugenio ever cut your hair and fry it like chucky?

Juls needs to work on not rolling her eyes all over the place when things don't go her way. Not sure if its the actress. She tends to overdo the eye emotions and ends up looking retarded at times, a la guadapunk from que pobres. This actress irritates me.

Gab and the "te amo" bear are getting irritating too. Grow up dude. There are so many people with depression out there who don't have the option to stay home and lay in bed whenever they feel like it. So many people are stuck going to work everyday and holding meaningless jobs because they have no options. Assess your responsibilities and do what you have to do. He seems highly functional for that at the very least.

Those glasses look ridiculous on Frida. Why hasn't anyone said anything yet?

Jarifa, thank you. I enjoyed the episode and your recap, and the recap's title made me laugh.

I think Crisanta is being silly even though I like her quite a bit. But poor Pancho :-)

I find it funny that Crisanta and Imelda keep acting as if they really want to physically mix it up. They don't walk all that steadily and they want to slug it out? Well, if they did Crisanta would certainly "beat that clown!"

Axel should definitely pay his mother. And he and Linda should immediately call off their little romance because if they fell in love and had children the children would surely be idiots. Not because of the small amount of DNA that they share, but because they themselves are idiots so what chance would their kids have?

8-)

Excellent Jarifa.

“Imelda wants Audifaz to leave so she and Crisanta can have a duel to the death” was great but my favorite was “More yoga that is not working”. I had to laugh. I don’t think I’ve seen anyone more uncoordinated than Blanca (unless it’s Amalia)  She makes me smile.

“Julieta has a hard time witnessing the encounter and how comfortable mother and son are with each other”. My heart went out to Julieta. Initially, I thought Yela insisted Julieta and Robert “pay her off” or she was going to cause trouble in the past. Am I wrong? What mischief is she up to now? I doubt she showed up because she misses her son. She wants something. If this isn’t bad enough, we now know Dave’s father is alive. And in jail. This does not bode well.

“Linda gets a text from Axel saying that he had a great time with her and "obviously" they will be seeing each other again”. OK, I have a new theory. Adoption is front and center in this TN. Because the Linda/Axel storyline persists, I think Axel IS adopted. Don’t ask me how but it would be the only thing keeping this from going into an unsavory place.

"...if they fell in love and had children the children would surely be idiots. Not because of the small amount of DNA that they share, but because they themselves are idiots so what chance would their kids have?" None andy as I shake my head and laugh - none.

I knew money was tight but didn’t realize Julieta and Robert were behind in their mortgage. They’ve done so much for others – their families should be rallying around them and helping. Sell that stooped hot dog cart. Please.

“Crisanta says no, she has something better. She is staying with Pancho”. Everyone loves Pancho it seems. Except Robert of course.

What mess is Audi going to get himself into now???

I'm very concerned for Robert and Julieta. Nothing is going their way. I'm heartened a bit that Susana doesn't want any monetary gain from the situation and am hoping she will be a silver lining to help her newly found family in need.

Jarifa, what a wonderful way to start the day. Thank you so very much!

Diana

Thank you for your recap, Jarifa! I got to watch half last night, will finish up today at lunch.

Just when we can't think of "what more can happen?", Dave's bio-mom shows up. I'm drowning in the problems these people have.

The Yoga scenes were funny.

Imelda picking up that butcher knife was funny.

Andy - LOL and spot on re: idiot kids

Linda suffers entitlement mentality and narcissism. She never heard the saying "my house, my rules"? Gah.

The adoption storyline could make sense. Maybe Axel is not Susana's, but definitely the son of her ex.

There are days I want that tee shirt little Dave was wearing!

Thanks, Jarifa, great recap!

Doris, I had to laugh at the yoga attempts too! It seemed like no one but Julieta was being successful; I would have probably looked like Blanca LOL

Diana, Yela did try to extort money out of Rob and Juls during the first season, but then she had a change of heart and and signed over Dave to Juls and Rob. She looks cleaned up this season; so maybe she'll try to get Dave back??? Can Juls and Rob stand any more stress...WOW!! And I didn't think Rob and Juls were tight for money either! So how were they able to lend Hugo money???

Andy ITA about Axel and Linda...idiots beget idiots LOL

Rgv Chick - right! How could Rob & Julieta lend Hugo money when they are two months behind on their mortgage!? Makes no sense to me. The bigger question is does Robert know they are behind? Answer is probably NO.

The Yela appearance might be yet another PSA . . . for open adoption. We have a local program that does this and seems to work well, from what I've heard.

Great job as usual, Jarifa! I laughed last night when Imelda went to pick up that knife and immediately thought of Investigation Discovery's show "Wives with Knives." LOL...

I find it hard to believe that a couple with such awesome jobs fails to make their house payments for 2 months. Seems to me that before you pay anything else or hand out money to anyone else, you balance your checking account and make that house payment.

Crisanta is just being ridiculous. All this in the name of vengeance. I do not like her character at all.

Linda needs to grow up and stop thinking she is so entitled to everything she wants.

I agree, it doesn't make sense that two intelligent professionals who are "always" working, helping others (i.e., Hugo) with money, hiring nannies, etc., should be behind on their mortgage. Will they lose their home and have to move in with Pancho? Will Dave's father be released from jail (or escape) and want to recuperate his son, since I doubt very much that he gave his consent for the adoption? Will annoying Pancho ever stop his ridiculous braying laugh and inappropriate (and unfunny) jokes? Will somebody -anybody- notice Frida's obsession with her cell phone before she is lured into danger?

Wow, the things we will accept for a fun TN! Canuto cheated on Imelda 50 years ago and so she "buried" him... until he and wife #2 return to Oaxaca and wife #2 opens a shop right next to Imelda's shop (which wasn't there in the first season); Julieta's new boss is one of the "other" Córcegas; cousins Axel and Linda fall for each other on sight; etc, etc, etc.

I sure hope none of us is so gullible in real life   :-)

The Córcega #1 clan does seem to be a fun bunch and they do things together, even giving each other classes. Blanca teaches English, Julieta leads yoga classes, and who knows what else. More fun than family #2.

Cynthia, "Wives with Knives!" Really? That's hilarious! Or maybe scary...

I agree that it's odd that two well-employed professionals should be a couple of months behind on their mortgage, but I know it does happen and they have had several recent unplanned expenses, such as paying for Julieta's goof with the silk. Still, to help out Hugo, etc., when you are behind on the mortgage is dumb, dumb, dumb.

Sure, let everybody move in with Pancho   :-)

andy

Thanks for stopping on by, everyone. It has been a busy busy day today.

Anon, you mentioned “Chucky” one of my favorite horror movie characters! Very good. I had a Chucky doll and then he lost his hair. Really.

Andy, yes, everybody should move in with Pancho. He could solve all their problems and make them like the solutions . . . maybe.

doris, you sure hit it on the head with Linda’s problem.

Cynthia, I am a big Investigation Discovery fan but haven’t watched “Wives With Knives”. I may have to give it a look . . .

Diana, I sure agree that nothing is going Julieta and Robert’s way. I cannot see any good coming from Isela’s return and then finding out Dave’s bio-dad is in jail. This could get messy very quickly.

RgvChick, that was a big surprise that Julieta and Robert are having financial problems. The pressure on them just increased. There is just so much going on. Thanks for refreshing us on Isela’s appearance in the first season.

I don't know why but I always want to call Yela "Isela". Go figure!

Shellfish Dreams!!!!! Wow. That's it. You are the Title Meister. This has been one of those days. Haven't seen any shows. Real Life took over. But thanks for the recap Jarifa.

And Andy, I loved your comment on the probably low IQ of the progeny. Carlos used to say," Their kids would be on the little bus."

Wow! What an honor, JudyB. 🎃

Thanks, Jarifa. Fine job.

I like Crisanta. She can't get any vengeance, cause Canuto is gone, but I love her ruffling Imelda's feathers. But poor Pancho is getting Crisanta as a roommate? Unbelievable.

Andy, right on about Axel and Linda.

IIRC, Yela hit bottom when Dave's dad abandoned them in poverty, then she abandoned Dave when he got burned. When she returned, she'd say negative things like "this doc (Robert) is no good cause he didn't get rid of your scars... I'm too tired to put ointment on your scars." There was nothing uplifting about her. Little Dave has forgotten all that.

Question: What was it that Tulio said to Imelda regarding her "secrets"? Is there something else not yet revealed? Like did she collect on life insurance fraudulently?

Cynthia, What was it that Tulio said to Imelda regarding her "secrets"?

I forgot about that! I noticed it at the time and then forgot it. Maybe there's more to Imelda's deception than what we have seen so far.
