Amar a Muerte, 11/14/2018, Episode 12: Devil in the Red Dress, or My Favorite Mistake.

We left last
night with LeonChi and LuciHo making small talk, like, I’m a man, you are a woman, wanna see? And what looked to be a lead in to
ZipperGate. Why do I keep thinking “No honor among thieves”? Oh I know, ‘cause there actually is
none. Hmmm…
The little
convo gets kinda physical and she runs into the house in a huff. LuciHo pulls
back and tells LeonChi to get his things and get out. But once inside and by herself, she thinks
of his words that she is a woman and he is a man. Johny calls and she asks what
he wants. He wants to see her, but she is not in the mood..it is not a good
time. He asks if something happened, ‘cause he is there to help her out . She tells
him they will talk later.
Beltrino and
Alicia in the hospital with Javi. Alicia
tells Beltrino that Javi will only get worse unless he gets the transplant.
Beltrino tells Javi that he knows where he will get the money for his
operation...he just needs to go get it...in Texas.
Guil and Rene
back at work. Renata wants to know why he…why did he confide something so
sensitive to her? Guil doesn’t know and
goes into his office. So hot chick grills her on how ‘IT’ is going. He leaves and Hot Chick wants to know what
happened. Rene tells her nothing important happened.
Meanwhile at
Drugs, inc. business as usual. Goon
tells Alacran about beating up the informant. When Alacran asks who the
reporter is, goon doesn´t know but he knows where he works...at the Leon
Carvajal company.
Mateo and Eva
at home. Mateo tells Eva about what
happened with Gaston. He mentions that Gaston was investigating Alacran. (Your
side squeeze, Ho)
In San
Antonio, Mariela tells Fabian that their son overheard what he said and is very
worried…and she doesn't want the same thing to happen to him as happened to his
father.
Beltrino
calls his Drugs, Inc. contact, Paco, but Paco doesn’t believe he is El Chino
since he knows Chino´s voice. Beltrino wants to know how Lupita and Juli are
and where they are. Paco tells him all he knows is that they were seen at a
market, but they got away. Beltrino then hears a shot and the shooter picks up
the phone and warns Beltrino that Paco is no longer alive and the same thing
will happen to all those who are close to him.
LeonChi walks
up on Guil who is punching the he** out of a bag, working out. They chat like strangers. Leonchi tells Guil he is saying his goodbyes
because he will no longr work there. Leonchi then notes that Guil was punching
the bag as if he were tormented and suggests that sometimes it´s better to talk
to a stranger than to a familiar person. When Leonchi asks if he was close to
his father, Guil tells him he wasn´t…but he wishes he could have been closer. His
father was always too busy…Guil thinks his father was a victim of his own success
since he was never around.
At home, Beltrino
is done with the constantly barking family dog.
He tells Amparo to go buy tequila because he wants to celebrate that his
wife and child are alive. When Alicia questions what he said, he backtracks and
adds that he is happy she is alive but Alicia thinks he shouldn´t be so happy
since their son is seriously ill.
Lupita is
getting ready for work and chats with her daughter Juli. Juli chides her Mom for thinking they will
find Chino. Lupita wonders why Juli has such a bad attitude; so Juli retorts
that Chino never treated her like a daughter and he never treated Lupita like a
wife. Lupita then has a flashback to a
long time ago when Lupita tells El Chino that she is preggers and he openly
suspects it is not his. The flashback is
interrupted by the ‘Landlady’ witch who tells Lupita not to be bringing in men,
and BTW, rent is due in two days OR, they can just make it simple and leave
now.
Camilo is at
the bus stop and sees a girl with the black moth tattoo. Just then Leonchi
calls very upset and tells him he was fired. Leonchi rants that he is all
confused and upset as he doesn't know how to control himself; so Camilo tells
him to meet him at his house. Camilo then calls out to the girl with the tattoo
but she gets away on the bus.
Back at
Carvajal Max runs to Leo and Tiberio apologizes for Max pushing Leonchi to the
ground.
Eva gets a
call from Alacran who tells her that her newspaper is investigating him. When she
tells him not to be killing their informants, he tells her she´d better get
them off his back or they will end up the same way.
Back at the
mansion, Leonchi says goodbye to Tiberio and tells him he no longer works there...it
was Luciho´s decision, In the short time he was there he saw how much Tiberio
loves the family and tells him to take care of them.
Inspector
fellow talks to Vale in the car as Leon watches. Leonchi interrupts and tells him Val is too
upset to be questioned. Inspector asks who he is, but Leonchi repeats that he
shouldn’t be bothering Vale. Inspector
asks Val if she has any info that could help them. She tells him that if they need to talk, it
needs to be inside. Once inside, Inspector knows Val´s father was well loved,
but he probably had enemies. Val wonders if he wants her to give him a list of
her father´s enemies. Inspector tells her he is not enjoying this, but he needs
to know if there was anyone at the company who would want to harm him; so Val
tells him she knows nothing about the company. Guil arrives and asks Val if the
inspector has already asked her if she thinks Eva could be a suspect.
Mateo at work
talks to Gaston who is already writing up his article. Mateo warns him to be
careful with what he writes.
Inspector
continues to talk to Vale while Guil listens.
Inspector tells Val and Guil that his questions might be uncomfortable,
but Val thinks his questions are stupid. Inspector assures her that no one in
the family is a suspect. Guil tells him that he is afraid his father´s death
will go unpunished.
LeonChi is at
some bar, probably thinking about LuciHo and Johny and upset that he lost the
job. After he leaves, the girl with the
moth tattoo comes in.
Leon is at
Jo´s house ready to kill___ He watches Johny through the window and throws a metal
rod through the window. Johny hears something and grabs a bottle of liquor to
defend the premises.
At the mansion,
Silvina asks TIberio why Luciho fired Leo, but Tiberio doesn’t know. Silvina
thinks Luciho can´t do that...she has a feeling...that man is supposed to be
there because this is his house.
LuciHo thinks
back about firing LeonChi, then remembers the good times with Leon 1.0. Gets all Boo Hooy eyed. Luciho recalls Leonchi´s words about taking
whoever she wants to bed.
Alicia is at
the hospital with Javi. She assures him they will soon be home. Javi asks for
his father so she tells him he had to go take care of some things. Man got some
digging to do.
Meanwhile
Beltrino visits Barbara, the fako crystal ball lady as the two have a couple of
beers together. He tells her that what
is happening is unbearable. When Barbara ask about the money and if he knows
where it is, Beltrino knows that the
only reason Barbara is interested in him is the money. She asks about the money
again, but Beltrino needs to know what is happening to him first.
LeonChi goes
to HIS cemetary and cries at his grave.
Then tears turn to rage as he looks at the flowers LuciHo left there and
he starts ripping them and flinging them everywhere.. The night watchman stops him with a shotgun
pointed at him. He tells him not to move
or he will call the cops. Leo tells him to please just go ahead and shoot. (Will you be surprised old timer) The man
asks if he is well; and Leonchi tells him “no.” When the man asks if he knew the man,
LeonChi tells him it is his tomb. Um… well, do ya need some help getting back
in? The man gives him ten minutes to be
gone from there.
Back home,
LuciHo is in a somber mood in her apartment-sized closet. Flashback of younger years when she had
nothing in her closet. She sits and cries when Silvina comes in and asks what
is wrong. A woman like her shouldn’t be so beaten. Luciho tells her that her
problems are tiring her. Silvina tells her that she understands that she is
very sensitive right now and that is probably why she fired Leonchi. Silvina
tells her that in these days it is difficult to find persons like him. You
know, like ‘Wanted dead or alive’?
Beltrino and
fako fortune teller still slugging brewskis and Barbara tells Beltrino that she
thinks what happened to him had to do with the eclipse. Beltrino thinks it’s BS
and tells her he has tried seeing several people and no one has helped him…now he
wants to see a shaman but she thinks the shaman is a fake (takes one to know
one?) Beltrino thinks that he may not want to go back to his former life
because there are men looking for him...and they want to kill him.
At Johny’s, the offical tells Johny and man in suit to that there will
be two patrol cars watching the house. When official leaves, Johny would rather
talk about their business. SuitMan tells him that Sanchez-Bueno is very happy with
the article. When SuitMan asks if the Carvajal kids are willing to support the
candidate, Johny tell s him not to worry; he has everything under control. Suitman
then tells him they are ready to start the next phase of the plan…to distribute
the electoral ballots in the poorer neighborhoods.
LeonChi is
back at Camilo’s house and he is very upset. Leonchi shouts that life gave him
a chance for what, to find out that his life, his marriage and his family were
all lies? When Camilo reminds him of all the success he achieved and that Elena
was a good wife and mother, Leonchi snaps back that Elena was dying of cancer
and there was nothing he could do despite all the money he had. Leonchi knows
that there must be an explanation for what is happening to him…he has a mission.
Luciho and Johny don't know who they were messing with.
Lupita is
waiting tables in some smoky bar. Boss
man tells her she’d better get with it or they will eat her alive. Boss watches
as men manhandle her. Meanwhile, Juli
goes into the landlady’s apartment and uses her old Singer sewing machine.
Camilo sees
that LeonChi is still drinking. Camilo
tells him to stop; he is losing control…and Camilo Camilo asks what he was
doing at Johny's house. ..he is going to get himself arrested; then Camilo will
have to pay the bail…and he is not a millionaire. When Leonchi tells him that
he hates it when he sees Luciho and is blinded…and loses control, Camilo thinks
it’s because Leonchi is still in luurve with Luciho.
Then….Doorbell.
Luciho is at the door looking mucho sexy…

Boy, they always end these episodes with a bang, don't they? Thanks for the recap Kirby and the shoutout to one of my favorite songs, albeit with a blue dress. Great number.
Love your take on things and this especially: "Gets all Boo Hooy eyed." Oh yeah, that's what us chicks do, even the hard-hearted ones. Looks like Léon may get a chance for a second dance with his lovely, perfidious lady. I'm all for it. Anything to push Johny out of the picture.
Hope it's warmer in Florida than here, Kirby, although I like cold, crisp weather for a change. Ohio summers are hot and humid and suck the energy right out of you. Like your state.

Judy, thanks. The weather has lost it's mind everywhere. Until today, daytime highs have been in the upper 80s. But this morning a 'Cold Front' arrived, and right now it is 68 out there Brrrrr. Yeah 'Devil with a Red dress, red dress, red dress, on', was too long. I was not sure if ya'll would catch my color change or not.
LuciHo feels that same magnetism now which she felt before for Leon, and does not understand that it is because it is the same heart and soul, repackaged. The little gal is even more cornfused than before, now.
And Lemon / W Studios seem obsessed with ensuring that we see the next episode. Like ending while someone is midair after jumping from a skyscraper window. Are they going to get the "thing" on the ground inflated enough?
I am looking forward to LeonChi having an advantage only he understands, (obviously) which allows him to make Johny suicidally miserable.

Good Morning, Patio! Snappy recap with sooo many details, thanks Kirby! That arctic front blew into the RGV Tuesday night; so we've been waking u to temps in the low 30s! Yesterday morning we had a mild freeze. This morning, the grass was frosted. Brrrrr!! BTW, The show has been running until about a minute after the hour; so maybe that is why some of you are getting "cut off."
JudyB,yes these shows end with a bang...and last night Luciho sure looked like she wanted to end with a bang..teeheehee. So she took a bath sulked for a while and after talking to Silvina she gets all dolled up to go rehire Leon. Kirby, you're probably right; she senses the similarities between Leon 1.0 and Leon 2.0. I'm noticing that lately most of her flashbacks are of Leon making her laugh and being such a tender gentleman with her (something that JohnyBeBoring does not do). She may be confused, but she certainly knows exactly how to get to Leonchi...and she flaunts it well.

Thank you for the recap Kirby J and Rgv Chicks...I think it was petty of Jacobo to break Johnny's window, but I found the scene quite funny...So we know now that there is a possibility of Juliana not being Chino's daughter, as to why they have taken this twist in the story, has got me perplexed...I am so looking forward to the next episode to finish that ending scene..and yes Kirby, she was looking mucho sexy, seems to me that hiring him back won't be the only reason for her visit.

The good thing is that Leonchi is getting back into his house near his kids. Of the kids, I think Vale needs (and deserves) the most support and attention. Guil seems lost too, but he has the capability of getting his act together instead of continuing in his pity party and making bad choices. Eva is strong, willful, ambitious and daring...she's playing with fire and will soon get burned. I'm curious to find out how Leonchi will handle the news that she has been using his company to launder money.
The good thing is that Leonchi is getting back into his house near his kids. Of the kids, I think Vale needs (and deserves) the most support and attention. Guil seems lost too, but he has the capability of getting his act together instead of continuing in his pity party and making bad choices. Assuming he is soon back in his house, the salient point to me, anyway, is that LeonChi will again have his exclusive access to the Bat Cave again. On so many different fronts (if we look at this like armed conflict) the Bat Cave gives him an advantage. Or maybe not even an advantage, but at least begins to level the playing field which is stacked against him otherwise.
I'm really intrigued by Death Lady...no ....make that 'Afterlife Chick', yeah, now that is sexy. I wonder what she is up to. She just looks mischievous all the time.

It would be TN poetic justice for the now wealthy LuciHo to fall for her lowly driver, for real now. Rather than for his money and prestige, as in the first time, she would fall for the real him this time, only to realize waaaay too late, after she has fallen hopelessly for him, that he is playing her like she played him. It would serve her right.
I think they are setting us up for something like that, showing her chicky side, (JudyB) with her actually crying real tears and all. Her turning on Johny and ratting him out would go a long way toward her redemption, otherwise, it is a pretty tall order.
If she does seduce LeonChi, given everything we know, will she try to pay him? :-)

Okey, I've just read the last three recaps back to back - I haven't had an Internet connection this week, so no show for me (since I can only watch online).
Anita, RGV and Kirby, thank you so much for your entertaining writing and for keeping me in the loop. I'm not sure I'll have the time to binge the shows I missed, but I would like to watch the Leo-Luci scenes at the very least. How is their chemistry building? Are there any fireworks yet?
