Mi Marido Tiene Mas Familia, Capitulo 52, Tuesday, November 20, 2019; "Blanca has a hearing loss--it's the end of the world as she knows it."

I am traveling right now and did not get a chance to really write up a normal recap. But here are some highlights:

After the exercise/self defense fiasco, Susana and Julieta become entangled on the floor and are in pain. Catalina promises to make a concoction for them that takes away the pain.

After drinking the concoction in a cup, both Julieta and Susan see hallucinations of their children  (and Pancho's children) during a work meeting. They think their employees are their children. The employees wonder what is going on and why their bosses are not making any kind of sense. They wake up a few hours later feeling very relaxed and their pain is all gone.

Fernando goes to see Robert at the hospital and says he wants to see David.

Police pull over Blanca and Ari and give her a citation for having someone drive without a license.

There seems to be a time jump and a montage of different scenes, one of them of Julieta trying to sell the car.

Blanca seems to have an emergency and goes to the hospital. Seems like an inner ear infection. She is losing her hearing. The family behaves dramatically as though she is practically terminal.

Daniela and Gabriel announce they are moving in together, but for the reality show in Mexico City.

Linda tells Axel she does not have feelings for him. She sends him away with tears in her eyes.

Well discuss away, because today, I do not have much to say. Thank you.

Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Thanks Cynthia. Wishing you a Happy Thanksgiving and safe travels. Hope that Blanca's hearing returns but I can tell you, the first time you realize you need hearing aids, it's devastating. And expensive! Medicare doesn't pay for it. However, I was comforted by then learning that people a good 10 years or more younger than I also were wearing hearing aids and told me to basically "get over myself". Always good advice!

Good morning Cynthia and Judy.

Cynthia - loved, loved the title. What marvelous sense of humor you and Jarifa has. The title alone is worth the price of admission!

This was on but I really only got to watch the last 20 minutes or so the bits I did see of the montage totally confused me. I can't add anything as I missed so much.

I DID see "The family behaves dramatically is though she is practically terminal". Your writing superb - the reaction ridiculous.

Linda and Axel parting. So sad. Not. One tidbit I did see was Linda wandering onto a set where a handsome man (drama teacher?) appeared asking her what she was doing there (I think). Looks like a magical appearance by a potential new love interest.

That will free Axel up for Clarissa. At least I will be able to stand him as I will simply focus on her.

Ari is trying to get Temo back as a friend. Not sure what was said but it seems like the friendship might be getting back on track.

I wonder if Fernando's time in jail was up? I doubt Yela confessed. But as Jarifa has said, I fear we haven't seen the last of her.

Catalina is making me smile. I'm sorry only as her presence is unsettling for Julieta (very understandable), but she keeps things lively.

Cynthia, you are a real trooper doing this while you are traveling. Thank you so much.

I will be away for a few days and look forward to catching up then.

A Happy Thanksgiving to each and every one!

Diana

Thanks, Cynthia! Loved the screen cap but the title said it all.

I could not believe the reaction to Blanca’s hearing loss either. Give me a break!

For me the high point was the hallucinogenic tea Catalina prepared for Julieta and Susana. That made me laugh and made Susanna and Julieta feel so much better.

At least Fernando was honest with Robert telling him if he did not arrange for him to see Dave, he would do it on his own. So far, he seems to be a stand up guy trying to remake his life and looking for work which is why Robert and Julieta should consult with a lawyer at this point and get all of their rights as adoptive parents clarified (like in writing) because this could get ugly real fast seeing what Rober’s reaction was to Fernando.

JudyB, Medicare doesn’t pay for the darndest things it seems. News to me. Interesting.

Have a safe trip Diana! I am also hoping the mystery man is a new love interest for Linda to keep her away from Axel.

I won’t wish you a happy Thanksgiving her because I will be recapping tonight. 😊

Thank you, Cynthia! Have a good Thanksgiving and take care while travelling.

Whatever happened to that light-hearted, fun TN that I used to watch? So many problems everyone is dealing with now in this show, but Catalina's potion certainly seemed to help Susana and Julieta recover. In fact, they looked quite content after they woke up. No annoyance with being given something hallucinogenic??

Well, maybe it's just a little fun at the office :-)

Best Thanksgiving wishes to all, especially those who will be too busy to check in over the holiday.

I'm at my daughter's house in Sacrmaento right now. I drove in and got here last night. So I didn't have a lot of time to spend doing the recap. So thank you to everyone for understanding.

My daughter is a Doctor of Audiology (AuD.) She was watching this with me and laughed because of the dramatics regarding Blanca's hearing loss. We know hearing aids are expensive, but it's not the end of the world. As an audiologist she recommends that people be tested BEFORE a problem arise. Kind of like going to get your yearly checkups. Have a baseline hearing exam before you notice any hearing problems. But most people don't think to do that. They wait till there is an emergency before they do anything...like the way some people won't visit the dentist until the problem is so bad they need a root canal.

I wonder if the potion that Catalina cooked up was some kind of herb like the mushrooms people used to "shroom". I think they were psilocybin mushrooms.

Cynthia, thanks for the audiology information and the "shroom" information!

Thank you, Cynthia. Hoping everyone a blessed Thanksgiving with bountiful food on their tables and much peace and joy with your families. Safe travels to those of you who will be on the road.

Andy, I too wonder where the lighted-heartedness portion of the TN went. They do try to sprinkle in some comedy, but it is nowhere near what it used to be. Despite that, I remain a dedicated viewer to see what will transpire with the few characters I do like.

I too agree that the reaction to Blanca's malady was too much. Isn't she just losing her hearing in one ear...or did I miss something?

Diana, I'm crossing my fingers that the Axel-Linda fiasco is completely over. Can she maybe go back to Italy and he to Africa with his father? I really don't wish him upon Clarissa.

Thank you for your recap, Cynthia, and I'm glad you made it safely to Sacramento. I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your daughter.

Add me to the list of those who think the reaction to Blanca's hearing loss was OTT (over the top). Seriously? One ear? She can still hear. They all know they're in a telenovela and are ALL wearing their telenovela beanie hats.

I guess I'm the only person who did not see the humor in the psychedelic tea scene. What if Susana and Julieta had been driving their cars? and with their children in them?

IMHO, Catalina is a threat to society; first with whatever ruined Hugo's cookies and made everyone sick, and now this tea. OH well, this is a telenovela . . . and my beanie hat has gone missing. ;-)

Thank heavens the Axel-notsoLinda thing is over.

La Paloma - Sending you (((hugs))) and prayers that your granddaughter will recover quickly. How awful for all of you.

Susanlynn - you're still in my thoughts and prayers. (((Hugs)))

I hope all y'all (that is the plural form-LOL) have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday!
