Mi marido tiene más familia Friday 11/2/18 Capitulo 42 Yela's Gift of the Poison Pill--OR--Power Plays All Around

Yela tells Julieta that she doesn't want any kind of contact with Fernando. Julieta wants Fernando to know that Dave is not alone and is protected. She wonders why he said he wanted to meet Dave. Yela doesn't know that nor what jail he is in. She warns Julieta that Fernando is dangerous with lots of connections. He is getting out soon and who knows what he is capable of.

Robert tells Audifaz not to talk to his son that way. Audifaz says it is his right as a father to talk to Ari any way he wants to. Ari wants to keep his earring. Audifaz tells him he is a man and not a woman. Blanca, Eugenio and Polita want Audifaz to take the argument off the street. Audifaz issues an ultimatum: either Ari takes out the earring or he does not have to bother coming home. Polita tells him to think about what he is saying. Robert tells Ari to do what he wants because he is free to do what he wants. Ari thanks Robert but does take the earring out because he does not want any more problems. Audifaz tells Robert that he hopes this is the last time Robert contradicts him in public because Ari is HIS son.

Catalina announces that she is looking for a new job. She is interested in interviewing to be Susana's assistant.  Much to Julieta's dismay,  Catalina is going through with the interview process and planning on fighting tooth and nail for the position.  Blanca is going to help her with English lessons.

Temo hopes things are better at home for Ari and tells him the earring wasn't a good idea. Ari says this is just the start because he is sick of Audifaz telling him what to do.

Audifaz (of the peace symbol and beads) is now angry with Polita for taking Ari's side against him. She asks him to remember his rock and roll days when he was young. Well, for Audifaz that had nothing to do with being "feminine". Polita brings up his suspicious behavior as of late. Audifaz says that has nothing to do with anything. He does things the RIGHT way. Ari has to be a good example for his little brother.

When Robert tells Julieta about the earring incident she is not surprised one bit. She tells him what she learned about Dave's bio-dad Fernando from Yela and that he will be getting out of jail soon.

Imelda, Blanca and Eugenio come to see Daniela.. Imelda lectures Daniela about her decision to separate. She says it would have never happened in her time. Daniela tells her that times have changed. Imelda says she should learn from  her mistakes. A woman is not worth less because she is by herself. All that Daniela wants from her family is to respect her decision. Eugenio thinks she should pay attention to what Imelda said. Daniela tells them all that if they are going to just criticize her, she will be leaving. Blanca assures her she will always have her home with them. She can stay for as long as she wants.  They just don't want her to end up divorced.

Gabriel goes to talk to his deceased mother in the park because that is where she always took him when he was a child. He needs her to tell him what to do. He doesn't want to lose the love of his life. He thinks back on happier times with Daniela.

Blanca and Julieta talk about Dave's party. Julieta asks if she has her costume ready. She will do it only because of her grandson. There will be no clowns because they scare Dave. Julieta suggests a costume party with no makeup like a super hero party. Both Blanca and Julieta are uncomfortable with Yela coming but Dave insisted.  Julieta confesses that sometimes she feels like she doesn't know Dave at all.  Blanca says that it is just normal because children grow. Julieta just wants to be the mother Dave hopes for., the best mom possible.  Blanca says all mothers feel that way. Blanca's advice is just to love him as much as she can. That way she will never make a mistake and the children will know that we did it all out of love for them.

Robert is with Blanquita, Frida and Dave. Frida asks Dave if he wants to meet Camilo. Robert's ears perk up and he asks who Camilo is. Frida says he is a secret friend from Facebook. Robert warns her how we need to be careful with who we meet on . He wants to see Camilo's profile. Frida tells Robert he is going to come to the party and then they can met him. Robert thinks that it is a good idea for adults to meet him. The conversation is cut short by Imelda shouting about the lock not being changed. She wanted to lock Crisanta out to regain some peace and harmony. Robert tells her again that the more she baits Crisanta the worse it will be. Julieta tells her to let the lawyers handle it. By the way, has Imelda found her original marriage certificate? Imelda can't find it. Robert emphasizes it is the only way she can prove she was married to Canuto. Imelda asks if the government would have a copy. Robert is doubtful because it was so long ago. Until they have the marriage certificate everything is in jeopardy so they need to keep Crisanta happy.

It is party time. Dave is a super hero, Imelda the devil, Amalia a nun, Linda Cleopatra, Axel Caeser, Pancho a wrestler, Susana Bat Woman, Robert a cowboy, and Julieta a Native American, etc. Everyone is there even Susana with her sons. Tulio has a bad feeling about it all and tells Eugenio and Audifaz that this is going to end badly. Audifaz quotes Plato: The dead are the only ones who see the end of war.

Yela arrives at the party dressed as a witch. Dave runs to meet her. She has brought Dave his favorite: tripe tacos. Dave introduces her to everyone. Crisanta arrives as an angel. She declares that the party will be unforgettable because she says so!  Imelda tells her she wasn't invited. They start arguing and Robert breaks them up telling them it is DAVE'S birthday party and it is a celebration. Imelda doesn't want Crisanta there. She is the fly on the cake. As long as everyone is there they can have an urgent  neighbor meeting, Crisanta decides to announce that she wants Audifaz's apartment. Julieta and Robert ask Imelda and Crisanta not to ruin the party. Robert reminds them that the property issue will be handled by the lawyers. Susana tries to get Crisanta to leave. She finally goes with her but she will not give up until she gets what is due her.

They are having a dance lesson at the party and Dave wants to dance with both of his moms. Everyone starts dancing at the party in unison. Ari gets carried away by the music and puts on a performance all his own. Audifaz turns the music off and asks him what kind of dance he is doing with "those kinds" of moves. Isn't he embarrassed? Robert and Julieta try to calm Audifaz down. Audifaz says Ari's dancing is not normal. Robert wants to know who gets to define what normal is. Ari tells Robert it doesn't matter what he does because his father will always find something wrong with him.

Gabriel is at home taking a depression  test.  Yup, he is depressed.  Later, he is tended to by both of his sisters. Yes, they remember how hard it was for him to get out of his depression after his mother died. They hand feed him sushi and tell him he is going out but he needs to bathe first because he stinks. Gabriel feels like a failure since he lost Daniela. His sisters agree that he can get her back but he needs professional help because he cannot do it on his own. Gabriel doesn't know about that but he is glad they are there because he felt all alone.

Catalina asks Julieta about her true feeling about Yela. Catalina sees her as a two-faced person. Julieta doesn't need any more stress but she agrees with Catalina that she doesn't trust Yela. Catalina doesn't like Yela's choice of food either be it tripe or brains.  Robert insists that Dave has every right for his birth mother  to be there and to eat whatever she prepared for him. There is no reason to think badly of  Yela because his "real" mom is Julieta.

Dave eats his favorite tripe tacos with his mother. He asks about his bio-dad and for her to call him. She avoids the question but when pressed she says with a smile that Julieta will have to tell him about his bio-dad since it is not hers to tell. Dave says that Julieta said she didn't know anything. Yela tells him that Julieta she lied to him.

Susana is upset and is telling Pancho about her mother's situation. Canuto left them when they needed him most. Pancho asks about Canuto's will. Susana says her father never included this building evidently because it belonged to his first family. Susana doesn't want it. She is not going to fight for it but her mother is a different story. There is another issue Susana needs to discuss with him. Sebas is upset that Susana and Pancho are friends. She doesn't want any more problems but at the same time she doesn't want to lose his friendship. Hd doesn't want to lose her. She needs him to trust her. She also wants to help him after what he told her about Rebeca. She wishes her sons could see her as the super hero she is dressed like. She will see if Axel can watch Sebas for a while so they can talk. . .but only after some comic book capers.

At his party, Dave is suddenly all depressed and all by himself. Sebas wants to know what the problem is. Dave is not talking.

Robert tells the family that the lawyers will clarify the whole property matter with Crisanta. Tulio offers to help pay for the lawyers.

Frida and Lupita are upset because Camilo has not showed up and is not answering their texts.

Ari is putting his earring back in and is preparing to return to the party. Temo tells him it is not a good idea.

It is birthday cake time and Julieta puts a birthday hat on Dave's head. He flings it off  and screams at "Julieta" that he doesn't want it. She asks him why he is speaking to her like that. Before he can answer, Audifaz sees that Ari has returned wearing his earring and tells him to take it out. Ari refuses because it is his life and his body and he has the right to do what he wants. Audifaz says he is no longer welcome in his home. Ari says no problem, because he is not coming back. Dave  joins in saying he doesn't want to go back home either.  Dave informs Julieta that he knows that she lied to him. She does  know where his REAL dad is and is hiding it from him.  Yela looks on trying to look not too guilty but Julieta looks like she knows the story.

What a party! I never expected Ari to be in full rebellion nor did I expect Yela to set Julieta up. One thing I really enjoyed was seeing everyone in their costumes especially Imelda as the devil and a Crisanta as the angel.

More mañana.

Jarifa, thank you for a really great recap, very definitely "Power Plays All Around".

I don't at all like what the writers have done with "Audifaz (of the peace symbol and beads)", they have turned him around 180 degrees. And I think he was tending this way even before he met that religious group. I think so but I can't really remember, so maybe it's them who are making him crazy.

I like Susana more and more all the time. This is a turnaround for the better.

Andy

Thanks Jarifa. I only watched this intermittently last year but I never liked Audifaz. A man who doesn't support his family and lives off what his wife can mooch from the relatives and the earnings of his son is not sympatico. And now going all righteous and screaming at his son in front of others....puh-leeze!

We all have a giver and a taker in our personalities. But Yela, Crisanta,Imelda and Audifaz seem to be waaaay out there in their selfishness and judgmentalism. Julieta is often annoying but I really felt sorry for her last night. That elaborate birthday party took enormous work and Dave's birth mother totally sabotaged it. Susana is not the only one who envies Julieta's seemingly golden existence with her husband and family.

Great title as always. Effectively resumes the action last night. Happy Saturday Patio!

Thanks, Jarifa. Terrific title and recap.

Andy, ITA I guess we're suppose to forget about last season, because Audi had no issues with Ari's dancing back then.

JudyB, ITA about Yela. She's here poisoning Dave though she knows Julieta has loved and nurtured him. I'm convinced she doesn't want Dave back, so what is her motive?

Writers, get it right. Back when Blanca fed Dave tripe, he got sick on the stomach. Now tripe tacos have no affect on him, really?

Yay, Pancho and Susanna so cute together.

Crisanta is acting most foul, but I still like her. Maybe it's the charisma of Carmen Salinas.

Thanks Jarifa, great recap and you're SO good at titles.

The party would have been so nice if Yela and Crisanta had just stayed away.

Andy, Audi has never impressed me as a father or husband...and he impresses me even lesss now. He must have inherited some of Imelda's character. He is yelling at Ari for a small earring when he is wearing all those chains....hypocrite! I'm so glad Ari stood up to him..now where is Ari going to live though?

JudyB, "Yela, Crisanta,Imelda and Audifaz seem to be waaaay out there in their selfishness and judgmentalism. " my sentiments exactly!

To Susanlynn: My thoughts and prayers are still with you. I do hope you find some time to stop by and tell us how you are doing. Alfredo (Mr. AAA) sends his sincerest condolences and wishes you the best too.

Dear Chickie, thanks for the thoughts and prayers.

Susanlynn (((HUGGGSSS))) Sometimes words cannot express our desire to console a dear friend. I hope you feel all the virtual hugs sent your way.

Thanks Jarifa!

Audi has some nerve going after Ari when the kid is supporting the whole freaking family with his modeling money.

Sounds like Yela is trying to throw a wrench into the family. Does she want Dave back? I don't understand her motives right now.

Could Linda and Axel have been any more obvious with their costume choices?

Of course the title was beyond perfect. I'm in awe Jarifa. This was sublime.

"Audifaz (of the peace symbol and beads)" was my favorite line of many.

"Yela's gift of the poison pill". How sly and insidious.

"Yela tells him that Julieta she lied to him". I'm so used to being wrong, I wish I'd been right about anything other than Yela being a beyotch witch. Talk about dressing appropriately. Niecie, I completely agree with you that I don't think she wants Dave back either. I still think she is going to parlay this into asking for money to go away...I felt for Julieta, her quiverling lip clearly showing her hurt. She poured her heart and soul into the celebration.

"Susana is not the only one who envies Julieta's seemingly golden existence with her husband and family" is spot on Judy.

"The party would have been so nice if Yela and Crisanta had just stayed away". Amen RgvChick. Amen.

I'm fuming that Axel continues to address his mother by her name. I had thought that seeing her so upset might sink in and he'd realize his mother is due respect and love.

It must be me because my recollection of Audi from the first series was that he was kind and gentle and loving. I loathe what I'm now seeing and hearing from him. While Dave struggles to adjust to the woman who gave birth to him's reappearance, that should not allow him to speak to his mother, Julieta, in that way.

I was heartened by Gabe being comforted by his sisters and taking the test for depression. These few tentative steps are hopefully indicative of brighter days ahead.

The bright spot for me were the costumes. I laughed out loud at Pancho's "muscles". Imelda and Cris as the devil and angel respectively showed that both are neither but a mix of both. Tulio as Dracula with the little drops of blood was great. Dani's plain costume (whatever it was) showed her sadness.

I liked Susana and Pancho's little dance. Andy, I credit their chemistry (unlikely as it is) to the actress whom I'm convinced could charm anyone.

"Robert's ears perk up and he asks who Camilo is". Finally.

"Blanca is going to help her with English lessons". Blanca's wide eyed expression and arched eyebrows have me smiling. I have to give Cat credit. She is a go getter and her confidence is boundless. I wouldn't be shocked if she manages to get the job and handle it...

susanlynn, wishing you peace today amiga. We all miss you so much...

Jarifa, as much as I am enjoying this, your recaps add an extra dimension of wit, insight and pure fun. Thank you!

Diana

Thank you for your recap, Jarifa, and the perfect title, as well!

"Susana is not the only one who envies Julieta's seemingly golden existence with her husband and family" My mother always told us to never judge a book by its cover. So true in this story!

Yela is just bad news and she was perfectly evil in setting up Julieta. That was just so wrong! Hopefully there will be an appropriate anvil for her.

" Audifaz says he is no longer welcome in his home." Eh, who exactly pays the rent on that "home"? Is there any rent?

Audifaz was a worthless unemployed/unemployable person in season 1, but still a loving parent. This religious group is having a very bad influence over him. (probably a PSA in that somewhere)

The good news is that nothing lasts long in this telenovela. And like someone already said, who is Audi to criticize an earring while he is sporting to man buns? Hel-lo!?!? He really needs to get a paying job to justify his existence on this planet. There is no reason he cannot work as a janitor, busboy at a restaurant, or a grocery bag boy somewhere, cleaning hotel rooms, ANYTHING, since he has no apparent job skillz. Argh! He is pushing my patience. No, wait, I have lost all patience with him. Rant over.

OT-Anita posted some info on Susanlynn on the Amar a Muerte patio. I didn't want to copy and paste here since I don't have her permission, but I thought you all would like to read it.

Thanks Jarifa! I absolutely loved your title about the "poison pill", because that is what Yela is doing, poisoning David's mind against Julieta and Robert. She is nothing but a manipulator. She should have lost to "mom" card a long time ago because she has abandoned him not once, but TWICE. I'd get a restraining order against her.

I don't understand Audi and his being so uptight. I wouldn't blame the church just yet. If anything, the church should be teaching him to be loving and merciful, unless this is a mind control cult.

Andy, Audifaz has been a bit of a mystery from the beginning. I was surprised by his reaction. I give the writers rdit for making a seemingly supporting character a complex character of his own.

JudyB, I never have been a big Audifaz fan either just for the reasons you mentioned. I cannot understand that Polita is working in the family bakery but he just wanders around doing nothing. Why isn't he working there in there if a job is to be had supporting his family?

Niecie, I, too am wondering what Yela's motive could be except for some kind of twisted revenge on the Copers because she cannot care for her son.

RgvChick, excellent comment about Audifaz must having inherited some of Imelda's character.

Susanlynn, it is always good to see you when you pop on by. Take care.

Carvivlie, Ha! The costume choices for Linda and Axel could not be more obvious. What a pair!

Diana, it has always annoyed me that Axel causes his mother by his first name. What annoys me more is that she ever allowed it. Many kids try that trick with their parents but are quickly put in their place. You are so right "While Dave struggles to adjust to the woman who gave birth to him's reappearance, that should not allow him to speak to his mother, Julieta, in that way." Time for Julieta and Robert to nip that in the bud.

doris, good question on who pays the rent on Audifaz's "home". My guess is that he pays nothing to live in the family apartment building but then I am joining you in your ant-Audifaz rant today.

Cynthia, you are so right about Yela. She was despicable inciting and watching the "Dave drama" play out at the party. I wonder if she has anything else planned.

I should not have written this before my coffee. Please forgive the typos.

"Diana, it has always annoyed me that Axel CALLS. . . "

Jarifa, I'm drinking coffee now to take away those afternoon yawns. Typos are all forgiven!

Cynthia, you sure know how it goes. 😊
