Mi marido tiene más familia Friday 11/23/18 Capítulo 54 Moving Right Along with Truths and Tears

The first challenge of " Reality de Amor" is taking place.  It is called "Changing Roles". The women have to change a tire and the men iron a dress perfectly.  Team Osos wins the first challenge and a night together in a cabin.

Imelda is looking for the show on the laptop and is having a hard time finding it but does.  Blanca arrives and Imelda tells her that Dani has gone to Mexico City already.  Blanca just wants to drag Daniela home. Tulio wanders in drunk.

Back in  the toy store,  Susana wants to help Pancho because he helped her so much through the death of her father.  She wants him to be able to see a lovely past without all of the pain. Pancho insists there is nothing better than seeing his children happy but they remind him of his Rebeca. Susana explains that each person is an accumulation of memories. Pancho should think of everything that made him smile at the  toy shop, not what made him sad. She reminds him that people all around him want him to be happy.  She gives him a little horse to remind him of happy endings.  They hug and he thanks her.

Back at the Cooper's, Dave says Fernando hung up on him.  Can he call him back and have him come over?  Julieta says it is not quite time to see his bio-dad. Dave wants to know why.  The doorbell rings and it is Ari and Temo.  Ari explains how conservative his father is and even that Temo's is a little more open, he does not understand certain things.  Temo needs to get an idea of what it would be like talking to his dad so they want Robert to pretend he is Pancho.  Temo starts to cry because he knows he is different and doesn't "like" women like the other boys do. Robert does his best squeaky Pancho (No manches!) imitation and tells Temo that he loves him as he is and that he has to be proud of himself and proud of loving. Robert wants the boys to know that his home is always open to them for whatever they need.

Polita screams at Audi that she has caught him with  . . . the Bible.  What is this place? Who is she?  She is Aura Audifaz's Bible reading partner.  It is all becoming clear to Polita. So that is why he has changed the way he talks and all. He nods. He has been reading the Bible every day. Yes! Audifaz says he needed time for himself to find a new way. He found it by becoming a Christian. Polita thinks that changing your religion is a serious matter. Audifaz would like her to convert, too.  She is shocked. What if she doesn't want to?

Tulio is ranting and raving. The only time his family really wants to see him is when they have a legal problem. Imelda lectures Tulio on how alcohol does not solve problems. He  says there she is criticizing him just as she always has.  Blanca is going to make strong coffee. Linda talks about a cold shower. Tulio just wants more to drink.

When Ari and Temo leaves, Robert tells Julieta that they cannot keep making excuses for Dave not to meet his father.  She accuses Robert of projecting his feelings on the situation but finally gives in and agrees that they can meet but Fernando can't just pop by any time he wants.  Robert suggests that they meet today.  Dave later asks when he is going to meet his dad. Julieta says tonight. He hugs her.

At Susana's house,  Bratty Sebas is moaning that he doesn't want the toy. He just wanted Susana at the auditions. Crisanta tells him to watch how he talks to his mother. He complains to Crisanta that she didn't come either. Maybe he should invite his dad. Crisanta tells him to go ahead. Susana thinks that maybe she should just forget about Pancho. Crisanta tells her no way.  She needs to look out for her own happiness.

Blanca finds out that she needs a hearing aid after some hearing tests.

Susana tells Catalina how women have to be supportive of each other.  She is very happy with Catalina's work and effort. She is a great example.  Catalina says Susana's words make her fells important, motivated and values.  She is going to keep doing her 300%. Susana smiles.

Imelda, Blanca and Eugenio start watching the live feed of Gabriela and Daniela in their cabin with the fireplace.  Gabriel toasts to the day that Daniela tell him that she loves him. She toasts to it being as soon as possible. Suddenly romance takes over and they are all over each other. They start getting undressed. The Córcega viewing team don't understand why they don't turn the cameras off but Imelda doesn't turn off her laptop either.  Blanca is set to go and get Dani out of the "circus." She wants to give it a try.  Linda puts Tulio to bed on the couch. She tells Imelda and Blanca that she and Daniela are old enough to make their own choices.

Pancho and Temo are out to eat alone. Temo says there are certain things  you choose and certain things you are born with.  His dad is all he has in his life.  If he were to withdraw from him, he couldn't stand it. Temo just wants to be happy. He tells Pancho he is gay. Pancho does not let Temo say he is sorry; Temo doesn't need to apologize to anybody. As they walk home, Pancho grabs Temo and kisses him on the head.  How could Temo think he could ever stop loving him? Temo is still the same old Temo. He is Pancho's son. Pancho is not going to stop bing his dad.  Pancho's job is to take care of him. He asks Temo to forgive him for all of the stupid things he did. He asks Temo to have a little bit of patience with him. Temo feels like a big stone has been lifted off of him. Pancho says the most important thing is that Temo is unique; one of a kind.  In this grey cloudy world, Temo is a rainbow.  It may not be easy but Pancho will be with him forever.

Fernando has arrived at the Cooper's.  Julieta tells him that she doesn't want him to make Dave suffer in any way. Robert demands that Fernando be who Dave is expecting him to be. Fernando swears he will. When Julieta brings Dave out, he goes  and hugs Fernando. Julieta cries. Fernando asks about the scars on Dave's face. Dave explains it happened a while ago when his house caught on fire.  Fernando does not mind the scars at all.  Dave has lots of questions for Fernando. Fernando explains that he never could try to find Dave because when he was a baby he was wrongly convicted of a crime and then  he was in jail for a while.  Robert suggests that they talk about happy things. Fernando and Dave play with a top. They get along and have a good time. Then  it is time for Fernando to go. It is a school night. Fernando congratulates Dave on being cast as Oliver Twist.  Fernando says they will have to see each other again soon. Fernando only has one favor to ask: a photo of him and his son. Robert says sure and takes one.  Dave goes upstairs. Robert tells Fernando that he and Julieta have completed their part of the deal and now Fernando has to complete his.  There is to be no contact with Dave without their consent. Robert explains he has a similar background to Dave's and knows what he is going through. Fernando thanks them  for loving and  caring for his son. He leaves.  Robert is sad.  Dave tells Julieta he liked Fernando a lot and hopes to see more of him.  Julieta says little by little.

Jarifa, thanks for another great recap, especially it being the day after Thanksgiving.

It was a fun episode, mostly good things happening rather than bad. They have been working up to Tulio having a drinking problem, maybe now his family will help. He's the one all alone since the breakup with Anna. (I think her name was Anna... how soon we forget :-)

Are they going to cut away in "Reality de Amor" or is it an X-rated program? :-)

I thought it was cute the way they showed Pancho and Susana's feet and shoes in the toy store.

More later...

andy

Andy, I really enjoyed the episode and the “Reality de amor” parts. Yes, it was “Ana” the villain of last season. That seems so long ago. We have come so far. . .

Thank you for your recap, Jarifa! This was an emotionally packed episode (for me).

Robert had me totally cracking up with his Pancho imitation.

Imelda had me totally cracking up while she was glued to the laptop, watching Dani&Gabe's nookie time while Blanca and Eugenio had the grace to be a bit appalled. But noooooo, not one of them closed the laptop! LOL Do Gabe & Dani even know there is a camera in that room? (Probably not)

Pancho's reaction to Temo's confession had me reaching for a kleenex. Wow, what a great father. What a great scene on the park bench! And such a loss to womankind that Temo is not into girls. ~sob~ He is such a wonderful young man. I hope he will someday find an equally great guy for himself!

The looks on Robert's and Julieta's faces when Fernando was playing with Dave just broke my heart. ~sob~

Tulio ... yeah, we saw that coming.

Linda = FFWD>

doris, Robert sure knew all of the Pancho tricks. That imitation was one of the highlights. Robert and Julieta are going through heart breaking times. It would have been so much easier if Fernando were a jerk. I don’t even want to think where this plot could go.

Time to go run errands. . Looks like first real accumulating snow could be moving through tomorrow. Too early for that. Why do I feel it is going to be a loooooong winter?

Jarifa - I think you live up north? I read something online about a big snow storm this weekend. The Farmer's Almanac predicted a cold winter for the northern tier states. Down south here, we are facing a wet winter prediction. But it has been colder than recent years, for November. We won't know until it's all over. Stay warm and safe driving!

doris., thanks for reminding me of Robert's Pancho imitation. That was truly funny, but I did keep in mind that this is a TV show because in real life I'm not sure if Temo would have been amused or upset.

In any event Pancho did handle the conversation really well. It's as Temo said, some things you don't get to choose. Still, I'm sure it's difficult for everybody. Temo was so afraid because often that orientation is made fun of. Pancho might have some small regrets as he was no doubt thinking how to discuss girls and how to behave with them, because Pancho does want to be a good parent. Now what? Discuss with Temo how to behave with boys? He would probably feel awkward and confused about that. So at least one chance for father/son bonding is lost though it's nobody's fault.

Jarifa, be prepared for that snow. It can be beautiful, but is it ever a pain! We had one serious snowfall here already, but it was gone after a day or so which made it an excellent dry run. Well, not really dry, but you know what I mean.

:-)

Thank you, Jarifa!!

I too thought Robert imitating Pancho was hilarious. I wouldn't think that Temo would be amused or upset with the imitation, after all if Robert had used his own vocabulary and speech, I don;t think it would have been as effective.

Robert and Juli's expressions while watching Fern and Dave were amazingly on the mark. But, I must say, that Dave's initial reaction to meeting his father whom he had never met was not quite realistic, IMHO. Dave was very anxious to meet his father, but I would not have expected him to hug his father the way he did. I would have expected him to be shy and apprehensive.

I'm so glad Dani was the one who had to change the tire (as a challenge); had it been Gabe, he would probably have been lost. I sure hope participating in this "Reality de Amor" doesn't backfire on Gabe and highlight his shortcomings rather than bring him and Dani closer together.

Didn't Temo ask Robert to try to sound like Pancho, so he could truly practice talking to him? Maybe I misunderstood . . . would not be the first time! LOL

I agree, RgvChick, about the tire changing. Had Gabe done it, it might have been very embarrassing.

* * * Sending (((hugs))) to Susanlynn this weekend * * *

Hi, Doris, thanks for the hugs. I appreciate them and send some back to you.

Doris, I definitely remember Julieta asking Robert to sound like Pancho. Maybe Temo did too and she reiterated it???

At last a mostly fun episode. Thanks Jarifa. And oh my, snow coming your way? I raked leaves for a couple of hours yesterday and after the rainstorm last night, you'd never know it. Another yard full of leaves. But who cares? OSU the underdog beat Michigan convincingly. So things went right both for us and Mi Marido folks.

Susanlynn, doubling the hugs to you, and I'm sure the rest of the patio will triple and quadruple them. At the very least!

Thanks for stopping by the patio, everyone.

Andy, we are only going to get anywhere from 4-10” maybe 12” of snow (if I am lucky?) with lots of wind. LOL I need to get into my “winter frame of mind.”

doris, yes, I am up north in Chicago area, Okay, I just looked back in my notes and it is Ari who says what they really need is for Robert to pretend to be Temo’s father. Robert is sort of taken aback and says that he and Pancho are so different. Ari doesn’t see a problem because they are both fathers and men.

Susanlynn, it is always great when you stop by in the patio. Wishing you only the best.

RgvChick, I hope the challenges play to the strengths of both Dani and Gabriel so that they can get back to being the happy couple they once were.

JudyB, enjoy that OSU win. I got to see my Bears win twice in a week. It has been a long time coming.

We used to watch the Bears Jarifa. My husband lived in Chicago until he was in middle school but remained a Bears and Cubs fan for life. The Bears really had some great legendary players. And coaches. Hope the snow prediction was overrated. The weather report often is.

Jarifa, I'm going to join with JudyB in hoping that you get less snow than predicted, 4 - 12" with wind is just too much. Here in New York City we had several days of bitter, sub-freezing temperatures, but clear. Then the temps went up and we got drenched with rain, and now it's cloudy but in the 50's. In a sense we got very lucky, if the precipitation had come with the bitter cold we could have a mess out there.

I'm glad Susanlynn checks in with us occasionally during this difficult time.

andy

OT...Jarifa...sorry that winter is coming your way. The snow we got before Thanksgiving is gone. I Still have the $80. snow plowing bill to pay my neighbor. Seems high to me. Huh paid all the bills , so I am clueless.

Judyb, I, too, am still raking leaves. I am also hoping that the squirrel that was in my garage is now out. I like stopping by here and "seeing" old friends.

The patio is always open Susanlynn, and the porch light is always on. We love you.

OT..thanks, Judy b..got a lot done today...leaf raking, laundry . Made a big pot of ham and string bean soup. I went through a pile of papers and found photos of us in the first cruise we ever went on compliments of our older daughter. We looked so happy. Staying busy . It is what it is. I cannot change it.

Chickie...are you watching the Christmas movies
on Hallmark?

That soup sounds wonderful Susanlynn. The best part of ham is the ham and bean soup afterwards. With cornbread. And maybe some greens if your mom is from Kentucky as mine was.

Finding old photos of happier days can be wonderful. A reminder that not everything is the sadness that we are going through now. Your past is filled with joy and magic. And I'm hoping at some point the future will be that way as well.

OT....judyb......joy and magic...that was Hub.

Susanlynn - I've been watching a boatload of Hallmark Xmas movies already. Keeping the DVR busy. There are some real gems in the pile, some dogs, and some occasional snark on "my Patio". And always a HEA.

HEA?????

Happy Ever After ❤️❤️❤️

SusanLynn, yes! I’ve been overdosing on the Hallmark Christmas movies. Lifetime has done good ones too. I just can’t believe what they are coming up with now, “A Shoe Addict’s Christmas”??? Ohhh, maybe we can come up with our own: “A Caray Patio Christmas” with lots of HOPEOS!! :-)

Diana, Hope you got back safely from your Thanksgiving trip, and Jarifa, seems like so far the snow has not made much of an impact in Chicago, other than a slushy, wet mix on the streets. Hope you have power and are cozy and warm.

JudyB, it is cold tale from my neck of the woods. The power just came back on. It was out about five hrs. and the furnace in the building is supposed to be replaced tomorrow. Only about 4" of snow but the car was encased in ice this morning. Enough moaning for one day! : )

Yikes. Sounds like a good day to either stay under the covers or scrape off the ice and head out to a warm, toasty coffee shop. So sorry.

((jarifa)))..Ice is worse than snow. Hope that you are safe and warm now.

Thanks, Susanlynn and JudyB. You made a frustrating day better. : )

“Polita screams at Audi that she has caught him with . . . the Bible”.

Jarifa, this was just inspired. Loved it. This and the title were my favorites but it was a wonderful read and filled me in on everything I missed, especially Temo telling Pancho the truth and David’s meeting with Fernando.

“In this grey cloudy world, Temo is a rainbow”. Which is why we all like Pancho. Pancho reacted as we knew he would. Bless him.

“She wants him to be able to see a lovely past without all of the pain”. If only that were possible Susana.

“Susana thinks that maybe she should just forget about Pancho”. Perhaps Susana should forget about Sebas?? Kidding. Truly.

“Tulio just wants more to drink”. And needs therapy.

There really is such a difference between Dave and Robert’s histories. Robert was abducted and yearned for and missed by Blanca and Eugenio. Dave was dumped and abandoned by his mother, with perhaps a few tears but nevertheless. Robert had a great upbringing by his adoptive parents and as a grown man, was ready to meet his family. David has barely had time to acclimate to Robert and Julieta. My heart goes out to Robert and particularly to Julieta. This must be unbearably painful.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Susanlynn, I can imagine how hard this was for you, I hope your family’s love enveloped you and gave you comfort and support.

Jarifa, you are the best! Thank you.

Diana

Thanks Diana for delineatiing the contrasts between Robert and Dave’s situations. I cannot imagine how hurt and unsettled Julieta must be. She has compromised a lot for her love of Roberto. She cant seem to catch a break.
