Mi marido tiene más familia Monday 11/12/18 Capítulo 47 Julieta Sees her Life "Slip Sliding Away"--OR--Canuto on the Move

Blanca does a puppet show for the children reinforcing the message that just because something or someone is attractive does not mean that it is not hiding something bad.  Frida quickly realizes that this applies to the "Camilo" situation.  Frida wants to hear how Eugenio and Blanca met.  Eugenio volunteers that  Blanca was the most beautiful woman in the world. She worked at the post office.   When he went to mail a letter, he saw her and dropped the letter!

Temo discusses with Lupita Audifaz's reaction to Ari and the earring. He is afraid if he were honest with his father, he would have the same reaction as Audifaz. Lupita does not think so.

It is bed time in the girls' "dormitory.". Blanca takes Linda's phone away. Linda feels like she is in the Córcega jail.

Julieta does not want to go to bed angry.  Robert says they are just tense after what did/didn't happen today. Julieta thinks that it is just a result of what happens when  they are so attentive to their  families and end up neglecting  their own relationship and their own family.  Julieta is left concluding that happy families probably do not exist.

The next morning, Robert and Julieta go to pick up the kids. Blanca is excited to see them but she is disappointed when she sees their mood is so flat.  Julieta and Robert assure her  the night was special and thank her for the gift.   At breakfast, Imelda tells Linda she is going to need her help on the fashion show.

At "Papancho's", Julio and Lupita are are fighting over a potted plant and accidentally knock Canuto's urn on the floor.  It breaks open and his ashes are now all over the floor along with the dirt from the plant that Lupita also dropped.  The twins are left with their mouths hanging open. The twins apologize. Pancho realizes it was an accident. He tells the twins and Temo not a word to anyone.  They go to get a broom to sweep it all up trying not to step on the ashes.  Pancho with his gloves on sweeps up the mixture of ashes and dirt.  What to do?  Pancho proclaims that all four López heads will have to work on a solution.  Suddenly, Blanca is at the door. The kids stand in front of the ash/dirt mess like a wall.  She asks if the children are going to school.  She slips into the apartment and asks if everything is okay. Pancho explains  a plant pot broke and now they are cleaning up the mess.  Blanca has pots and she will find new one for them.  She goes to get one in the basement.  They breathe a sigh of relief and work fast to clean it all up.

Before school Robert sits down with Dave and reminds him that when he was adopted they promised to always tell him the truth.  Robert adds that Dave always needs to remember that no matter what ever happens he will always be his dad.  Robert tells Dave that his bio-dad is in jail.  Dave asks why and if he did something wrong. Robert asks that he talk with Tavo. Dave agrees.

Catalina shows up at the office with all sorts of charms to help her in her interview.  Julieta doesn't think she has a chance with her attitudes and not speaking English. She practices with Julieta, the phone rings, and it is time for her interview with Susana.  Julieta gives her a hug and wishes her good luck. Catalina talks to Blanca on the phone.  Yes, she is all ready for the interview. Let her mission to to get a well-paying job begin!

Daniela brings groceries to her parents's house and puts them in the refrigerator as Eugenio and Imelda watch.  Eugenio says that is not necessary. Daniela wants to contribute and Linda adds that once she is making money she will contribute, too. Eugenio says neither of them have to because it is their home, too.  Imelda says it is okay if they accept some help from the young'uns. Imelda tells Linda it is time to go and that she will be a model for the fashion show. Daniela says se will not model but could help out with carpentry or something else. Imelda suggests that Daniela might want to bring some of her alebrijes (wooden fantasy figures).  Imelda thinks about being blackmailed for a portion of Canuto's ashes.

Crisanta comes home and immediately notices that the ashes are missing. Did they steal his ashes? She confronts Imelda in the hall and accuses her of stealing the ashes. Eugenio and Daniela come out and inform Crisanta that they do not have them.  Eugenio is upset because they do not know where his father's ashes are.

Catalina has started her interview. Susana is impressed with her resumé. She offers Catalina a lollipop to get her to relax. Susana has one, too,  as they start the interview in English. Catalina has her phone on and has arranged for Blanca to hear the questions she is being asked and feed her the answers in English so she can repeat them to Susana. Needless to say this does not go well  and ends in a lot of confusion with Catalina  repeating things that Polita, Pancho and Eugenio are saying. Susana notices that English is not her strong suit but Blanca says she is continuing to work on it.  At the end of the interview, Susana says she will  get back to her. Catalina recognizes that as what they always say to get the candidate to leave and on their way but she hopes that she will be able to stay. She really wants to work and feel useful. Susana is touched.

Casandra asks Julieta if she is okay.  Julieta says not really  between home  and here and she doesn't even know where to start.  Julieta finds out Gabriel is still depressed but is getting professional help. Julieta wants him to know he can count on her.  She looks at a website called "Reality de Amor" and makes a phone call.

Robert has taken Dave to see Tavo.  Julieta calls Robert but he does not answer. She leaves a message that she loves him and wants them to be okay.  Robert tells Dave he is there to talk to Tavo about his bio-dad.  He reminds him they are the "magnet" family and will be together forever. Does Robert promise? Yes, he does.   Robert leaves Dave with Tavo. Tavo tells Dave  that every new piece of information that he finds out about his bio-dad is just like a piece of a larger puzzle he is solving. Robert told him the truth because he loves him. Robert is in his office when he gets another message from Julieta who still  thinks that it is best not to tell Dave anything about his bio-dad.

Casandra says Catalina has been with Susana for a long time which must be a good sign. She asks Julieta if it bothers her that her mother could be working with her.  Julieta says it does stress her out especially with Susana.  Her mother is complicated.  Casandra says if Catalina is working there, they will be together 24/7 and  mixing family with work is a nightmare.

Pancho tries to glue the urn back together.  Blanca stops by and asks what did he do with Canuto's ashes.  He explains and shows her the pieces and the ashes in the box mixed with dirt from the plant. They agree that Blanca will take the box with the ashes and dirt out of there but they almost get caught by Eugenio.

Linda and Amalia are at Imelda's business. Amalia is focused on getting a liposuction done and will not be dissuaded. Linda says she can help her in her new business with her self esteem and tells her the lipo is not a good idea. As soon as Amalia can get the money she  is getting it done. Imelda  takes the two of them to go talk to Crisanta. Crisanta comes out with her" protective shield" just in case Imelda has a fire extinguisher with her again. Imelda will allow her to be in her show only if she turns over ALL of Canuto's ashes. Crisanta agrees (if they ever appear).  Crisanta is going to use the show to promote her "anchakinis". (ancha=wide)

Robert comes with Dave  to see Julieta at work. She sends Dave out with Casandra.  She suspects why he is there and why Dave is not in school and she is not happy.  Robert said Dave had to be told his father was in jail with their honesty pact. He is there to talk to her for the same reason. She asks why what she wanted  didn't count in all of this. Robert says her feeling are important and that is why he came to see her.  She accuses him of doing it behind her back. He reminds her she said he could do what he wanted and the time had come. Julieta insists that Dave is just a child and Robert should have put himself in his place. He is confused. She does not want to see him hurt. Robert tells her Dave was already being bothered by the issue so he helped him.  Julieta is incredulous. As far as she is concerned, Robert failed her. She sent him a message because she  wanted to talk about it more tonight. Well, Robert didn't feel like lying to his child anymore. She tells him that everything is going to change and they will never be the same again. After the discussion,  Robert and Julieta talk to Dave. They want him to know they are still a family. While with Casandra, Dave drew a picture of his "complete" family with his birth parents.  Julieta and Robert both look upset. Susana comes in to tell Julieta that their meeting will be starting soon and that she has hired her mother as her new assistant.  Robert's expression shows he is  upset for Julieta. Susana explains that Catalina had the most hunger and passion for the job. Passion is very important to Susana.  She also thought it was important to give a job to an older woman. Julieta starts to scratch her neck nervously.

Polita and Pancho are helping Blanca in her kitchen preparing food. Pancho asks how her mysterious husband is doing.  Blanca asks if she is having problems with him. Polita says he is acting  very strangely.  Later  while eating lunch, Blanca suggests that Pancho just tell the truth about the ashes.  Robert  drops off Dave. Blanca asks Dave why he has such  sad eyes. He says he found out his bio-dad is in jail. Pancho manages to talk to Robert and tells him about the ashes getting  mixed with the dirt. Robert says he should watch his children better.  Pancho is going to come up with the best solution possible. Robert hopes so because the situation  could be really bad. Tulio arrives looking for Eugenio. Robert needs to talk to him.

Susana gives Catalina the good news.  Catalina is overjoyed and will not fail her. Susana loves her attitude and her enthusiasm. She is confident that Catalina will learn what she needs to.  Susana has only one request. Would she please refer to her as "Máster Susana" at  work?  Catalina wants to know why. Susana explains that people are not used to having a woman in power.  When it is a man, they always call him "Licenciado" (a title recognizing that the person has an academic  degree) or "sir" and women are called . . . Catalina finishes the sentence "by their first names." Susana got a Master's Degree for this position and wants to be recognized for it.  Catalina loves the idea.  She will call her "Máster Susana" to elevate the position of women!  They end up laughing together.

Robert talks to Tito and his drink. He asks his uncle if he can use his contacts to find out what jail Dave's dad is incarcerated in.

Julieta sure got a double whammy tonight.

I really got a kick out of the accident with Canuto’s ashes. Not terribly original, but it sure made me laugh. I cannot wait to see what Pancho does to solve the situation.

Catalina’s interview was great fun, also, as she went repeating Polita, Pancho, etc.

Finally we found out why Susana wants to be called “Master”. I liked her reasoning for using the title and also for hiring Catalina.

More mañana . . .

Thanks Jarifa. Again, a dynamite title...times two. Both parts are delightful. I just can't get upset about the ashes. They are simply the remains of the skeleton, but certainly not Canuto's "essence". And whether a body is moldering in a grave or reduced to ashes, it is not the person you knew and loved in life.

And I too was happy to finally learn why Susana wanted to be called "Master". Better than "Mistress" for sure!

Tired of all the spats and downturns in Julieta and Robert's life, but alas that is close to reality in many couple's lives. But I like TV as a relief from all that! Oh well, we will hope that this particular problem will be dissolved quickly.

Happy Tuesday everybody. Cold and crisp here. Family gone and suddenly the house seems empty. (But peaceful!)

The sidebar should be peppered with all of your marvelous titles Jarifa. This is surely one of my favorites.

Another incredible recap culled from the heart.

"all four López heads" had me smiling away.

"Let her mission to to get a well-paying job begin!" Endearing is not a word I would use to describe Catalina, but her face lit up with so much hope. I could not help but be excited for her.

"When it is a man, they always call him "Licenciado" (a title recognizing that the person has an academic degree) or "sir" and women are called . . . Catalina finishes the sentence "by their first names." Speechless. I find I am liking Susana more each day. I can't wait to see what the unlikely duo of Cat and Susana are going to accomplish. Together.

I had to laugh at the ash mishap too. Pancho's expressions crack me up. "And whether a body is moldering in a grave or reduced to ashes, it is not the person you knew and loved in life" was lovely Judy.

Robert did the right thing by telling David the truth. While I understand Julieta wants to protect him, he deserves an answer to his question. Shielding will only further contribut to his heartache. I suspect his birth parents are cut from not too fine a cloth and Dave will come to appreciate who his real parents are.

So Tavo continues to dispense advice yet as a recurring character we know nothing about his except his occupation. Is he too young for Cat?

I also am sad that our favorite couples are in turmoil. I hope the healing comes soon.

Off today and traveling to tend to my best friend recovering from eye surgery.

Jarifa, another masterpiece. Thank you.

Diana

Thanks for the kind comments. I recently decided to become "caffeinated" again, maybe that is the trick. . . .

JudyB, I also appreciated "And whether a body is moldering in a grave or reduced to ashes, it is not the person you knew and loved in life." That is something people often lose sight of. Cold here, too, but the sun is out which makes all the difference in the world. Time to break out the down coats/jackets.

Diana, I agree that Dave needed to be told but I felt that Robert took advantage of the situation when Julieta told him to do what he wanted. It was nothing that urgent that had to be decided on right away and far too important of a decision to be made without having her on board. I am not liking Robert much this morning. Oooh, is Tavo too young for Cat? i never thought about that pairing. He does look older that Robert but younger than she.

Thanks, Jarifa!

JudyB, I'm glad to know Susana's explanation for being called "Master" too. I just hope that she will share that with Juli some day...maybe it'll keep Juli and Cassandra from calling her monster. And, yes, Rob and Juli are having more than their share of spats and downturns...hopeoing the writer's will flash a glimmer of light into their tunnel.

Diana, ITA, David did the right in telling David the truth about his father, but I also wish he had waited and included Juli in that revelation. Telling him on his way to school?? Sorry, bad idea Robert!

Cat's interview was hilarious. I can't believe Susana would choose her after that fiasco.

Someone had mentioned that there would be a third season? I read an article about Zuria, Daniel A, Diana B, and Jose Pablo Minor not returning. It'll be a challenge for Juan Osorio to have a good show without these four. I also read that Regina Orosco (Amalia) and Latin Lover weren't returning, but we can do without them IMO :-)

Thank you for your recap, Jarifa. I'll be settling in to watch later this afternoon.

"Blanca takes Linda's phone away. Linda feels like she is in the Córcega jail."
Well, bless her heart, no one is forcing her to live there. ~rolls eyes~

Cat working for Susana just has "potential disaster" written all over it. LOL

Rgv Chick - I cannot imagine a third season of this show. What else is left that could possibly happen to them? Plague? Pestilence? Yikes!

Thank you, Jarifa. Fun recap and fun title(s)! And Finally we found out why Susana wants to be called “Master”. Yeah, it makes sense and is perfectly reasonable, but did she have to invent a title? Would she not qualify for "licenciada"? After all, who in the Mexican business world will know about "Master"? It seemed odd or laughable at first to Julieta and Casandra, what would business people outside the company think?

Anyway, the explanation seems part of rehabilitating Susana's character and making someone very likable and not a "Monster".

JudyB, Better than "Mistress" for sure! Well, maybe. She did seem to be (figuratively) cracking the whip a lot at first.     :-)

Diana, I had to laugh at the ash mishap too. Me, too. But that urn with Canuto's ashes was an accident just waiting to happen. Do people really use easily breakable ceramic urns for ashes? Maybe.

Rgv Chickie, thanks for the info on a possible third season. But I think it would be more of a spin-off if the actors you mentioned were not part of the show.

And I agree that Catalina's interview was a fiasco. Only in a TN would she have been hired.

Just finished watching. Pancho's facial expressions in all the Canuto ashes scenes were hysterical. The comic relief is so welcomed by moi!!! Crisanta's riot shield was funny, too. And so appropriate around Imelda. LOL

IIRC, in La Fea Mas Bella irmelse it was in Betty La Fea, Betty was called Licenciada. It was a vocabulary moment for me. 😎

... gah! Autocorrect! "or else" was changed to irmelse.....whatever that is. 😳

Jarifa, you just need to stop it with these hilarious titles! Too funny. Loved the recap. Didn't watch last night, but I can picture this: The kids stand in front of the ash/dirt mess like a wall.

I'm glad Robert told Dave, partly because he and Julieta were never going to agree. Because Robert is adopted himself, I figure he understands this better so I'm okay with his decision. Now, Dave can quit asking and move on with Tavo's help.

Glad Susanna gave an explanation for "Master," but I still don't like it. She cares too much what others think about her. "Licenciada" has a better ring to it.

Niecie in MD ---"The kids stand in front of the ash/dirt mess like a wall." described it perfectly. They looked like defending soccer players in front of a goal for a free penalty shot kick! So cute!

Busy busy day! Thanks, everyone for stopping by the patio.
