Mi marido tiene más familia Monday 11/19/18 Capitulo 51 Stumbling Along

Linda and Daniela run into the apartment with the good news.  They found Imelda's original marriage certificate.  Imelda is so happy she can prove she was married to Canuto first.

Amalia is with Enzo at dinner. She is all upset about her weight and is on a diet of only eggs. He asks when her self-esteem fell so low.  She said it was when she saw how super skinny his ex-novia was.  He tells Amalia that his ex-novia had so  many problems that it was terrible being with her. Amalia laughs in his face and says she Amalia was his second choice. He tells her she is taking a bad turn and is getting worse. He is angry.  It is absurd that she wants liposuction and that she betrayed her family to get it. He starts to leave. Amalia gets suddenly nervous and gets him to sit back down. She and her one egg look sad.

Susana is in a  fight again with bratty Sebas who refuses to turn off his video games and go to bed.  He will fulfill his part of the deal and be a good son when she is a good mother. Axel comes in looking sad and rejects "Susana's" offer of help.

Julieta tells Robert hat she saw Yela again and yes, she was responsible for getting Fernando thrown in jail.  He is not a criminal.  This really changes things.  Fernando never abandoned Dave. Yela saw to it that they were separated.  Julieta and Robert make a list of things  they are thankful for on posters. It goes from matching pajamas to knowing they will always be together.

Imelda comes knocking at Pancho's door to let Crisanta know that she found her marriage certificate. So that must mean that Crisanta's marriage is annulled. She wants Crisanta out of the building tomorrow one way or another. Crisanta looks crushed.

Mirror vignettes:

Julieta needs a moment and closes herself up in the washroom. As she looks in the mirror she is suddenly overcome with emotion as she realizes her family could be broken apart.

Blanca is looking in her mirror wondering how to stop time in order to always be with those we love.

Amalia wonders why she has never liked what she saw in the mirror.

Polita looks at herself and wonders if she really isn't enough  for her husband.

Diana wonders how she can motivate Hugo so he can find his way.

Linda wonders how she can be sure if what she feels is really love.

Daniela wonders if if she has to risk it all for the love of her life.

. . . . all of the "wondering" ends when Julieta leaves the bathroom.

Julieta comes back to talk to Robert.  She says she wants to believe everything will be okay with the two of them together. He says it will be.   He needs her up one hour earlier tomorrow.  He has one of his special family moments planned.  Dave comes to see what they are doing and their romantic moment is cut short.  He latches onto the poster that mentions adopting him. Then it is bedtime.  Julieta and Robert discuss their debt. Robert thinks it is best to sell his car. He can get around on his bike. He's a better bike rider than Julieta anyway . . . They can take that money and split it between the house payments, Robert's foundation and Julieta's penalty.

Hugo has gotten his license back to reopen his hotdog stand and he will be happy to be able to return the money he borrowed from Julieta and Robert.   Hugo thinks about taking on another job. Diana tells him he can sub P.E. at her school.

The next morning everyone is at the gym. Pancho is pushing a reluctant Temo into weight training to attract those girls. Diana is driving Hugo in his weight lifting. When Dave sees the swimming pool he gets hysterical and says there will be no swimming for him.  Robert tells him they are going swimming together.  Julieta tells him he is never going to feel free near water if he is afraid. Dave will go in as long as Robert and Julieta are with him. Robert says that is a promise. Julieta remembers Dave drowning at the river and sees him drowning in the pool but  it is all in her mind. Dave does well and is pracricing with a kick board.  Dave recognizes that they always take care of him.  They all love each other. Gabriel declares to the gym that depression is not going to win.

At Blanca's breakfast table, she announces that she is going to teach Ari how to drive.  Imelda says she has to have a lot of strength so she can wring Crisanta's neck but then thinks better of it because she doesn't want to spend her last days in jail. Blanca imagines a cigar smoking, aviator sunglass wearing Imelda behind bars dressed in black and white stripes. She thinks she would not be "mamá suegra" but would say she was the "viuda negra" (black widow)

Daniela is at home and smiles thinking back of her memories with Gabriel. She has decided to go ahead with the reality show. She leaves him a message that she wants to see him.  He will stop by. When he comes, she tells him she is ready to give "Reality de amor" a try.   She has her conditions:  They both have to really train for the competition/Just because they are doing this show together does not mean they are reconciled and back to being a couple so no romance/They have to work as a couple/They cannot tell her parents until it is all over.  Gabriel knows this will change their lives.

Julieta is taking Dave to school. Still at the gym, Robert watches Pancho supervising Temo's training.  Pancho wants Temo to build up his pectorals so he can be like. Robert talks to Pancho privately and says he really should not force his son to do something that he doesn't want to do. Pancho does not take the advice well. Robert explains that  he needs to put himself in Temo's shoes or imagine himself with those spindly arms.

Imelda goes out in the hall just to find a huge portrait of Crisanta dressed as an angel complete with halo and wings hanging on the wall. Susana comes looking for her mother.  Imelda says pretty soon she won't have to worry about her mother being here anymore because this circus is over. When Crisanta and Susana come back out, she and Imelda get into it again. Imelda tells her to go back to her home since she owns all of the building. Imelda has called the police to remove her. Audifaz accompanies them. Crisanta announces that she is not going anywhere without talking to her lawyer. The police arrive and try to remove Crisanta by force. Susana says that is not necessary.  Imelda  is going to be changing the locks. Susana escorts her mother out but Crisanta tells "the mummy" not to celebrate her victory yet. Crisanta will be back. Imelda chants that she won and defaces the angel portrait with a marker trying to make Crisanta into a devil with horns.

Robert confides in Gabriel in the steam room about his fears.  It has to do with Dave's dad seeming to be a decent guy and not a dangerous criminal.  He is afraid of Dave comparing the two of them.  Gabriel understands.  He talks about his own dad and his dad's fear of never being able to fill the hole caused by the death of Gabriels's mother.  He became estranged from his children. Gabriel thinks that Robert needs to be his best self.

Pancho continues unwittingly terrorizing Temo.  He has him  shave his face with basically no beard and then slaps after shave on that  tender face.  Robert tells Temo the next time he shaves it is better to use gel or cream.  Pancho puts bits of tissue all over his face to stop the bleeding.  He is the expert. Robert says okay "Franqui-Panchi-Lopi."

Julieta and Catalina disagree about the "active  break" activity. Catalina accuses Julieta of trying to set her up so Susana will fire her.  Julieta says they need to talk in private.  She tells Catalina she cannot have her mother telling employees that she does not support women.  She does not like her mother's attitude and this is just what she was talking about before Catalina accepted the job.  Her mother does not accept her authority. Catalina says it isn't that she doesn't accept her authority; it is just that she respects Susana more and is just doing what she said.  Susana appears. Catalina says she has everything ready but  Licenciada Julieta is having a problem.  Susana asks Julieta if she  is contradicting her orders. Of course not!  Catalina smiles.

Blanca takes Ari for his driving lesson.  Ari is nervous because Robert lent him his car for his driving lessons. Blanca understands him being nervous since she was the same way. Blanca promises to be more patient than Julieta was.  They have a rough go of it.  As they are stopped at a stop light,  suddenly Blanca sees Audifaz in a park with some woman.  She tells Ari to step on it and has him  run the red light to prevent him from seeing his father. Unfortunately for Ari,  a policeman sees him.

"Multipurpose" Enzo is at Cklass as the self-defense instructor.  He uses Susana and Julieta in his demonstration.  Susana is to be the aggressor and Julieta the victim. They grapple around the mat and suddenly it gets very real.  Susana takes Julieta down but it is she who is left on the mat holding her leg in pain.

Funniest part of the episode: a tie between Blanca envisioning Imelda as the "Black" widow in jail and Robert imitating Pancho by calling him "Franqui-Panchi-Lopi". Daniel Arenas is quite good at comedy.

Most grotesque part: Imelda defacing Crisanta's poster. She seemed like a wicked troll.

Ugliest Part: Arrogance personified Audifaz telling Polita that she just wasn't quite up to understanding what he was getting into. Maybe he is can go hang put with Vicente and Axel.

All in all, i enjoyed the episode.

Cannot stand Imelda for sh*t. She always does the most immature things ever (defacing the poster, the sidewalk paint, the paint bucket challenge, etc). Can she just disappear already? Worst clown faced sanctimonious person ever. Can't wait to see what Crisanta does next.

I don't care about Amalia at all. Her liposuction go fund me campaign is ridiculous. You have people dying of cancer and other serious horrible diseases everyday. Maybe if she focuses on others' plight she can finally feel better about herself physically. What the heck does Enzo see in her? If she can't even see her own qualities, who will?

Dave's frequent whining is annoying. Whenever he shows up on screen its all I hear. How old is he supposed to be? So far he kinda behaves like a little girl. And this is an overall observation of his character and tantrums, not just today's fear of water episode.

One more thing, . . . . . I really enjoyed the female characters talking to themselves n the mirrors. I like when they try to add a little variety no matter how.

Joyful Jarifa.

“She and her one egg look sad”. Great Jarifa - loved it. The little face drawn on it made me smile and reminded me why I still love this show even though it’s a bit too dark at the moment.

Who suffered the worst beating last night? The “incredible, edible” eggs. Amalia hacking hers, Audi stabbing his.

"Mirror vignettes" were excellent. These are strong women, questioning and letting their emotional turmoil out. I enjoyed seeing a rather different Polita. No pushover she.

Hottest moment of the night was Gabe going in for the almost kiss with Dani. I saw smoke with no fire. Whew!

“Ugliest Part: Arrogance personified Audifaz telling Polita that she just wasn't quite up to understanding what he was getting into. Maybe he is can go hang out with Vicente and Axel”. Perfect Jarifa. Could not agree more.

I am agreeing with those who've been saying Julieta is truly troubled. “Seeing” Fernando in the pool was worrisome. Julieta, who has always been the pillar of strength is fantasizing – and not in a good way.

“Pancho is pushing a reluctant Temo into weight training to attract those girls”. Trying to push any child to "improve" themselves to catch the eye of someone else is wrong. Contrast that to Robert's loving and careful coaching of Dave during the swimming lessions. Pancho has a big heart but sometimes he misses the mark. Come on Temo, time to tell the truth.

“He will fulfill his part of the deal and be a good son when she is a good mother”. Sad. “Axel comes in looking sad and rejects "Susana's" offer of help”. Sickening.

I am comforted a bit that Robert and Julieta are facing their debt head on. I am a bit worried that Ari is driving Robert's car and hope he makes it home safely. I wish Susana would forgive Julieta's debt and that Hugo hurries and gives the borrowed money back.

The writers have made us care about these characters. With your smart and savvy recaps, you and Cynthia have us the reasons to do so. I am so appreciative.

Thank you!

Diana

Had to laugh. Diana and I so often notice the same things:

She and her one egg look sad.

That phrase just cracked me up (no pun intended). And I loved your mirror vignettes, Jarifa. I've always been struck by how often in these stories the writers stage mirror conversations. I'm not sure anybody does this in real life, but it's one way for the inner thoughts to be voiced without the need of a listening buddy.

Thanks as always. Off to the grocery to stock up on items needed for Thanksgiving dinner. The stores are always filled with glazed-eyed women at this time of year, pushing loaded grocery carts and looking stressed. Ah the holidays!

Good Morning! Thank, Jarifa! I agree with all your "moments."

I with everyone who enjoyed the mirror vignettes. I hardly recognized Diana; she looks quite different with her hair down.

Diana, "Hottest moment of the night was Gabe going in for the almost kiss with Dani. " ITA for some reason, despite the ruly hiar and beard, Gabe seems sexy to me...probably the eyes. BTW, Diana, I have my first telenovio!! Not Gabe, though; it's Michel Brown as Leonchi on Amar a Muerte. When you have a chance, check out those baby blue eyes...I know JudyB agrees with me :-)

JudyB, be careful at the grocery, those women can be dangerous!

Rgv Chick, Gabe has "the look". Something in his eyes oozes sexiness - ITA! Sigh.

Now, I have to admit, I can't help but see the fist few minutes of Amar, and trust me, Mr. Brown has NOT gone unnoticed. Animal magnetism. Wow! You picked a winner Rgv Chick- I am now even sorrier I can't watch this. You and Judy have excellent taste!

I won't be cooking this year Judy and I will not miss it a whit! "glazed-eyed women" said it all..

Diana

Yep. Normally the "holidays" are anything but for women, Diana. Glad you can take it easy this year. Your everyday life with work and long commutes is grueling enough for anybody!

How old is Axel anyway? His sad face screamed teenage boy with his first puppy love! I would not want that sexting, annoying, immature doctor anywhere near me.I have PPO.

I am THANKFUL that I can follow most of the action in this TN through the recaps and comments. Never cared for Imelda's face and her character is annoying as well.

I'm in Diana's camp--not cooking dinner for Thanksgiving. Have worn myself out in years past. Baby granddaughter is in hospital with pneumonia, hubby has cataract surgery the Monday after Thanksgiving, and I'm working on Thanksgiving, so there's enough going on without making a big dinner.

Rgv chick, it was fine with me to repost that item. Wishing all the patio a great Thanksgiving holiday.

Thank you, Jarifa!

I have not yet had a chance to actually watch this episode and I have some running around to do, but hopefully later. If not, I won't be lost thanks to your recap. I have found that getting behind on episodes and trying to binge watch just doesn't work well for me. More later.

andy

La Paloma, I am saying a prayer for your granddaughter and one for your husband. Naturally, a heartfelt one for you.

Working the holidays is the worst, and I hope the time goes by quickly.

Thanks for your kind words Judy. Will be Jersey bound very early Thanksgiving morning and will miss several episodes so look forward to catching up when I return.

Wishing all of you a blessed Thanksgiving and hope you are with the ones who mean the most to you.

Diana

Hi, everyone! Thanks for stopping on by the patio.

Andy, I understand about binge watching. There are some shows where it just doesn’t work for me. Then what do you know? I usually search for recaps of those shows on line to bring me up to date.

As for “Gabriel”, I will let you all have him; not my type at all. Now, Michel Brown is another story.

Diana, yes! I do care about some of the characters enough to still want to watch in spite of the growing list of the nasty ones. As a matter of fact, I am looking forward to seeing another episode tonight. I can’t say that about many shows.

Anyway, got to go!

Thank you for your recap, Jarifa! Stumbling Along" sums it up perfectly, and I love your subtitle of "mirror vignettes".

Too funny when Julieta & Robert were "clock"-blocked by Davey, and Robert quickly grabbing and holding that pillow in front of him. LOL

I would like to see Susana take some parenting classes so she can learn that parenting is not just a power play of trying to boss people around the way she does at the office.

I would also like to see Susana stop letting Sebas get away with HIS behavior toward her.

Imelda = FFWD>> (she acts like a 13-year-old)

Audifaz = FFWD>> (meh)

Hopefully Ari won't total Robert's car and thus add to their financial woes.

Sadly, liposuction will not fix what's wrong with Amalia.

"Hottest moment of the night was Gabe going in for the almost kiss with Dani."
Yes, I agree.

Hhhmmmm .... had to google Michael Brown. Um, yes, I totally get the appeal. Woof!

La Paloma...I am keeping you and your family in my prayers.

Jarifa, thanks again, and I have managed to watch this episode with a little help from my friend the FFWD button

That sad egg was so silly I had to laugh, but Amalia would get on my nerves and I feel for poor Enzo.

I don't know about Michel Brown but Diana is totally hot, hair up or hair down. It was nice to see her softer side for a bit.

OT: Amar a Muerte is better than I thought it would be, though there is too much narco violence for my taste.

MMTF2 is a fun TN overall, but there is a lot of nastiness going around right now. Imelda, Audifaz, Axel and Sebas, meh.

Rgv Chickie: "... I have my first telenovio!!" At first I was thinking that you are way too fussy since I usually have two or three telenovias with every different TN, but then I realized that perhaps you are right. Many of the men in these TNs are good looking, but no way as hot as the women. Not even close.

:-)

andy

LaPaloma, thank you for stopping by. It is always good to see you here. Wishing you and your family the best this Thanksgiving and hoping your granddaughter is home soon.

Andy, yes, poor Enzo. This was the first time we saw him really have enough of Amalia and her obsession. It looked like Amalia was surprised by his reaction but knew when to give it up.
