Joselito has scared Augusto into giving him an address where Circe is hiding. Topo reminds him that Don Gavino said to leave her alone. José takes this opportunity to push out his chest and tell the guys that the cartel now belongs to him.
José insists that Augusto come along on the “find Circe” mission. Disgusto keeps whining. José says he needs him along because, if she isn’t where Disgusto said, what’s he going to do with all these bullets?
Circe tells Felipa about her plan to reveal Disgusto as a traitor and, smirking, says that Diego cayó (fell into her bed at last).
Salas and Diego argue about how the plan to use the Guevara name is now backfiring, and the tía is here. Salas says that the kids have to be taken out of school. Smarter than the average bear, Salas has realized that is the only way Margot could have found Isabel.
Isabel and Porfi talk fondly about being together as a family for Amanda’s school event.
Margot shows up at Amanda and Ricas’ school and gets information about the family from a too-helpful teachers’ aide.
Gabriela gets a call from Venezuela and finds out it will cost $3,000 U.S. dollars to get a passport. [Really? If this is true it must be because of corruption.] Deivid overhears and, as usual, Gaby gets snarky when he offers to help pay. But then they fall into bed together; and, in passing, Deivid says something to show his complete disinterest in Marlene now.
Speaking of La Gran Estupida, Marlene is getting all over Diana for spending the night with Chucho. [Really? After she jumped into bed with a married man when she was about 15? At least Chucho is single!]
Zoraida shows up to try to convince Miss Blockhead 2018 what a bad guy Disgusto is. As I’ve heard it said: Zoraida, save your breath to cool your soup! Marlene says she doesn’t care if her fat boyfriend defrauded Fernanda. She doesn’t care if he was involved with the Gaona cartel. Zoraida pulls her trump card and tells Marlene about his shooting the attorney general, having his wife hide the gun in the garden, and about she herself finding it and that it was covered in his fingerprints.
Diego and Salas pay a visit to Isa, Porfi and the kids. Salas tells them about the danger for the children to return to school. Like most kids Amanda just wants to go to the party and rags on Diego for ruining things.
Chucho tells Deivid about his nightmare of being shot. Deivid divulges some of how hard it was to get out of the cartel, and that it took them killing his mother for him to break free.
Jim has bought some tiny baby shoes. He wants Paloma to have their child, and he offers to take the baby off her hands and raise it himself. She almost walks off, but turns back and takes the shoes after seeing him crying in despair.
Diego offers to put the house in Isa’s name so that they can sell it and move elsewhere. We see Porfi perk up at this idea. [I never realized until now that Diego owns the house; I thought they were renting. I even think I remember Isa saying they needed money for rent when Diego wanted her to quit dancing.] Porfi tells Diego that they are a family now, and Isabel moves toward Porfi to stand with him and with her children.
Marlene is getting angry at Zoraida for what she’s saying about Disgusto, and actually asks her to leave. Zoraida tells her she wasn’t ever planning on staying in the home of a murderer. But she doesn’t plan to return to Álamos until she convinces Marlene. After Zoraida leaves, Diana is aghast at what she did. Marlene tells Diana that, if she doesn’t want to be here, the door is open. Leave.
While Deivid is warning Circe that José and the guys are dangerous, she gets a call confirming that Disgusto is on his way with José, and thus is the traitor.
Joselito, Disgusto, Topo, and some other thugs arrive in some rundown neighborhood. While Viewervlle awaits a hail of bullets, Disgusto sweats bullets. They enter some warehouse and…BINGO…it’s Jota Jota, who has a bunch of guys at Joselito’s back and some others in front. JJ tells him that he stole something from Circe that belongs to him. [I suppose the only clue was Circe saying she had a surprise for Joselito. But I'm not sure how Disgusto got the wrong address. Felipa?]
Isa tells Porfi about finding Diego with someone else. But she refuses to accept Diego’s offer of giving them the house.
Something seems to be missing, because JJ speaks as if Disgusto had already said something. Anyway, JJ repeats what he thinks he heard. Disgusto gave money to Circe to “invest” with him. “You betrayed her, right?” Disgusto starts babbling. He says he saw Brandon shot in front of his eyes, and he had no choice.
José: ¡Todavia no ves la reata y ya te estás bajando los calzones! [You haven’t even seen a whip, and you’ve already taken down your shorts.]
JJ says that there are two things he never forgives: betrayal and thieves. He says he sees two perfect examples in front of him. He punches Disgusto in the gut. Then he has his guys put a hood over Joselito, and they are dragged off.
Diego has come to see Fernanda at the restaurant. He wants to talk. She tells him about Porfirio needing a liver transplant. Isabel decided to give him a chance because both Porfi and the kids were very sad. Diego acts like it’s no big deal.
Fernanda: Tú estás diciendo eso de dientes pa’ afuera. [saying one thing while feeling another, or putting a brave face on something] She tells him she knows he’s hurt. He says the two of them never had that kind of connection. She reminds him she carried him inside for 9 months and knows him better than he thinks. She tells him that what’s important is the children, that they deserve a peaceful life.
Marlene discovers that Diana is gone. She has left a note saying she doesn’t want their disagreements to ruin their love completely. Diana has gone to stay with Chucho. She also tells him about how uncomfortable she felt around Disgusto.
Diego comes back to his apartment. Circe has decided she has to tell him that she’s been working for months with Disgusto. We don’t see Diego’s reaction, but I expect it to be explosive.
Many thanks, novelera, for yet another terrific recap. I especially appreciated the Spanish sentences you translated. They both included expressions I didn't know.
Speaking of not knowing, I'd never heard "save your breath to cool your soup" before. Loved it. I also enjoyed "Miss Blockhead 2018" and "While Viewervlle awaits a hail of bullets, Disgusto sweats bullets."
It sure looks as if Augusto is about to be not only unmasked but also undone. Neither Circe nor JJ have much tolerance for traitors. But it seems a bit too soon for Marlene to learn (or, rather, to accept) the truth. It will be interesting to see how the writers deal with this.
I think you're probably right about the $3000 passport being the result of corruption. I recall that even earlier, I was suspicious that Gabriela was being milked for money.
When do we start placing bets on who will wind up alive at the end of this novela? Deivid? Chucho? Diego? JJ Ibarra? I think it's unlikely that Corona will be alive, unless we have some absurd self-sacrifice on Diego's part to give Corona part of his liver. No, no, please, NO! And I'm almost certain that Joselito won't be with us at the end. Probably not Circe, either. Nor Disgusto. ¡Ya basta!
Thanks, Juanita, for your usual insightful comments.
Well, I went with what José's remark to Disgusto sounded like to me in context. But this morning I looked up reata and it is defined as rope or lasso and, commonly, the rope joining a string of pack animals.
Anyway, it seems to me that he meant that Disgusto was wimping out before anything had even been done to him. Certainly NOT part of the code of omertá, which surely exists in Mexican cartels as well as in the Italian Mafia.
thanks so much novelera, as always I really enjoy reading your recaps and the life you bring to the story.
is there anyone left in this entire novela that can tell Marlene ANYTHING nice about Disgusto? of course there is no proof, but...
in Engish Paloma told Jim that doing what he wanted would be about as easy as eating cactus.
I think Gabriela mumbled something about they didn't have the stuff to make the passports as to why they cost so much.
they kind of skipped over where Jose was going but apparently Circe agreed to meet Disgusto, but they led us to believe it was to be at Diego's place, I was surprised JJ stepped in as I thought he made it clear that Circe was to handle this, and so far he hasn't killed Joselito (my name is Jose).
I think Diego said he did put the house in Isa's name, and they are planning on moving, but not till they get some money, Porfi is to look for another school which Amanda doesn't want to leave now that she has a friend.
My recollection is that Diego offered to give her the house, not sure how Mexican real estate laws work. I don't think he had already done it. Otherwise why did she say she could not accept his offer?
Great reportaje, novelera. You and Juanita are brave to keep this going. I'm tired of crosses, double crosses, re-doubled crosses and all the shootouts. Don't they ever run out of men?
Another thing I've noticed, narco thugs are rarely married. Wonder why.
I'm on duty tonight. Bear with me. The scenes change so fast and I can't for the life of me get any continuity when they bleep so much (my continual rant). I've thought long and hard about this. I don't think Univision is at fault. I bet anything they are complying with U.S. regulations. It's just funny that they bleep out the Spanish words to do so. What do the CC's look like when the characters use really terrible slang?
Venezuelan passports are issued to citizens of Venezuela to travel outside the country. Biometric passports have been issued since July 2007, with a RFID chip containing a picture and fingerprints; passports issued earlier remain valid until they expire.
As of 2015 passports were 34 pages long and displayed a biometric symbol on the bottom of the cover. The cover is deep blue and shows the name Mercosur followed by "República Bolivariana de Venezuela" on the top.
The holder's personal information is written in a digital format on a plastic card which also bears a machine-readable zone on the bottom, and a picture of the holder on the left.
Starting from 5 November 2018, all new passport applications will be paid using the Petro, a cryptocurrency established by the Venezuelan government with the backing of oil, gasoline, gold, and diamond reserves. The cost of a new passport will be 2 petros or Bs.S 7,200 (115 USD).
So much for $3,000 for a Venezuelan passport.
*Diego wants to know from Circe, since *when* has she been working with Disgusto. He’s the dog that ruined his family. Circe says he’s the only one who backed her when she came to the city. He’s the one who bankrolled her. Diego asks did she know where he got the money? She doesn’t. Well, he stole it from Fernanda. Circe didn’t know. Not only that, but he was mixed up with some bad guys (corruption and drug trafficking? Didn’t decipher it.) and was responsible for his bro’s death (which he wasn’t, as Circe’s backflash can attest).
Circe tells Diego that first she’s going to get the merca back, then deal with Joselito. She’ll free Disgusto, if that’s what Diego wants. Diego wants him to pay for everything he did to his family. But how is she going to accomplish that? She’ll take care of it so Diego won’t get his hands dirty. Diego says she’s right, even though he’d like to have killed the guy himself. Circe says she’s going back to the warehouse, even though Diego doesn’t think that is a good idea.
*Joselito is getting his face rearranged by one of JJ’s thugs. Disgusto’s is too, unless it’s Joselito’s blood spatter. JJ wants to know where his merchandise is. Joselito only replies that his name is José. JJ turns to Disgusto. Disgusto turns to jelly. He starts whining that he didn’t betray Circe. JJ doesn’t really care. He’s missing a lot of $$-lana. He wants them both to suffer for a while. Disgusto gets socked by a thug. José tells JJ he's the one that started it all. He reminds JJ that he and Gavino were associates and JJ went with the Chilango all-girl gang. JJ reminds Joselito that it was because José failed him and lost a shipment. Joselito says they could have fixed it...as JJ interrupts. With Gavino in jail, JJ doubts it. As with all deals, MamiChula offered him a better deal and he took it. He’s just waiting for Joselito to spill the “sopa.” The beating resumes.
*Mateo chews the fat over beer with Piochas, lately recovered from being dressed as Swiss cheese for Halloween. Mateo predicts Joselito’s imminent fall from grace and Circe ending up with the whole wheel of cheese. Gavino is making good money on his prison sales, but it’s all going to that lawyer of his. Mateo has an idea of how to cut out the middle man. He thinks he and Piochas can take over the girl-kidnapping-and-turn-them-into-prostitutes gig and run it on their own. They leave Babel out of it and keep the money. There are always clients out there.
Mateo is rambling on about women in general. He tells his sad story of being abandoned by his ma, dumped on an aunt who was a prostitute. When she was caught, child services sent him to an orphanage run by clerics. That’s where his real education began. It boils down to his being a misogynist at heart.
Mateo is still telling his story to Piochas. After he got married, his wife abandoned him. Well, actually, he shares his secret with Piochas—he killed her, but she deserved it. The girls they kidnap and sell are no different. They’re all whores.
A little later, we see that Mateo and Piochas have a couple of glamorous dames in to party with them. They seem to be pretty drunk. Mateo is still rambling, but ends by blaming Isa for all of his son Porfi’s problems (oh, oh, watch out, Isa).
*Paloma has been to the clinic. She has about six weeks to decide whether to end the pregnancy or not. She hasn’t decided yet.
*Eric isn’t around (Nuria) because he’s in bed with some Random Blonde. She promises to pay double for another round. He starts to put her off when one of the resident gals comes to get him. He makes Random Blonde hide. He promises to see Random Blonde again.
*Marlene gets Disgusto’s voice mail. She’s worried about Diana shacking up with that no-goodnick Chucho.
*Isa and Zori meet in the park. She tells Isa why she’s there with her suitcase. Of course, Isa knows all about Marlene marrying Disgusto. So far nothing she’s done or said, including confronting her with Fernanda has made Marlene change her mind. Zori wants to meet with Salas. He has proof that might help convince her. Isa calls him to meet them there. As she’s telling Zori she can stay with them, Salas shows up. He has the proof that Disgusto killed the attorney general back at his place. It isn’t far.
*Amanda’s Amiguito from school comes to see her. He doesn’t understand why she wasn’t in school. Today was the festival. She tries to explain she won’t be coming to that school any more but Porfi is sticking his nose into her conversation. Amiguito tries out a joke on him, Porfi gets huffy, then relents. He lets the boy in.
Amanda and Amiguito are chatting and playing some board game as Ricas watches when Porfi starts to cough and his nose starts to bleed. Porfi excuses himself to go bleed in the bathroom. Amanda is very upset, but he minimizes the event. Actually, he calls Isa and catches her at the park. He’s in a bad way and needs her. She sends Zori with Salas and she returns home.
When Isa gets home she checks on the kids, then on Porfi. He’s in bed, still coughing and bleeding. Obvio, he needs that transplant. They need the money, so she’s going back to Babel, no buts about it. She wants him well for the kids.
*The too helpful teacher’s aide tells Emiliano’s Aunt Margot that the Guevara boy didn’t come to school that day but she doesn’t know why not.
*Deivid arranges with someone on the other end of the telephone to get a passport asap. Diana and Chucho arrive and tell Deivid that Diana is moving in with Chucho. Deivid doesn’t think that’s such a good idea—seeing as where they’re living isn't safe for young ladies and Chucho could get in trouble for “kidnapping” and holding Diana hostage.
*Chucho is worried that Marlene could have him put in jail. Diana doesn’t think she would. It was Diana’s decision to live with him. She says as long as Mar is mixed up with Disgusto, she wants to stay away from Marlene. He holds her tenderly.
*Marlene shows up at Fer’s job asking about Zoraida. Fer didn’t even know she was in town. She feels sorry for Marlene because she’s living the same life she did with Disgusto. By example, she asks Marlene how many times has Disgusto told her she was useless, that she needs him to live her life or that she was merely an ornament in *his* house
If Fer had known what kind of person Disgusto was, she would never have married him and wouldn’t have lost her son. Marlene says Disgusto couldn’t have had anything to do with Eliseo’s death. Fer says she wasn’t talking about Eliseo, she was talking about Diego. Diego left home as a teenager to get away from Disgusto. Marlene looks as if she might start to half believe what Fernanda is saying, but she brushes it off and tells her to have Zori call her if she sees her. Oh, and she’s looking for Diego so she can locate Chucho.
*Amanda says goodbye to her Amiguito, but invites him to come by to see her any time. He gives her a cute kiss on the cheek. Ricas teases her.
*Diego and Deivid are sitting in their patio having a beer when Marlene shows up. She’s looking for her sister. She’s considering turning Chucho in for criminality. After all, isn’t he working with Deivid? Deivid defends himself. Marlene knows darn well he doesn’t work with the cartel. Chucho and Diana just by chance overhear Mar telling the guys that she’ll report Chucho to the police for kidnapping. Everyone is just speechless.
*Joselito's beating continues. JJ just wants to know where his merca is. Joselito finally tells him. Now, either kill him or let him go. JJ needs to keep him around for awhile yet. Suddenly, Circe shows up, her lips the same color red as Joselito’s blood. They string him up again. She gets in his face. José calls out to her, the two of them will never be finished. She retorts, has he forgotten how he treated her? She won’t, as she gets a flashback. He says he should have killed her when he had a chance. He could have given her everything. She’s still dwelling on how he treated her. Remember what he brought her to eat when he had her tied up? She won’t, as she gets a flashback. Well, she brought him some worms and tries stuffing them into his mouth.
Circe continues with her interrogatorio, reminding him of how he forced himself on her. She says she intends to pay him back with the same coin. She grabs a thick stick and has him taken down. We don’t see it (thankfully), but we hear it and assume she’s whacking the sensitive parts between his legs.
Circe asks Joselito if he liked it. There’s blood on the floor in between his shoes (ouch). He stands up and tells Circe that maybe he didn’t love her the right way, but he did and he defended her from her father and Diego. He says to kill him now because if he leaves...Circe interrupts—nah, he’ll not leave here alive.
JJ is getting antsy. He wants to shoot Joselito now. He wants to go get his merca. Circe tells him she wants Joselito for herself. Then she turns to Disgusto. He whines he never touched her. That’s not what she’s talking about. He sold her out. He whines his excuses, but in the end, she whacks him on the side of his head—more blood.
Alex: He was dressed each time we saw him, before and after. It might well be, but, we'll leave it up to everyone's imagination.
Terrific recap, Anita! Lots of wit, including "unless it's Joselito's blood spatter" and "dressed as Swiss Cheese for Halloween". You got a very gruesome episode. Adding in Porfi, they might have had to send out for some more fake blood. And Uriel did a good job of acting how it would be to eat worms.
Mateo's conversation with Piochas was interesting. We got a bit more of what caused him to turn into a monster. A really disgusting part was his blaming the young girls for falling for him. This is an attitude right out of the 50's. Good girls don't give it up; they remain virgins until they are married.
My imagination was going the same place as Alex's. But considering the length of that piece of wood... I don't see how he'd live through it.
The frustrating thing is that I'm pretty sure both Disgusto and Joselito will somehow live on until the last couple of episodes.
Please, writers, don't let Diana end up back with Marlene and having Disgusto leering over her all the time.
For some reason the scene with JJ reminded me of the old saw about employees at work: The beatings will continue until morale improves.
what a wonderful recap Anita!
yep, this show is getting really gruesome, Circe is obsessed with how Joselito treated her and it's payback on a whole new level, which can only get worse because these 2 guys will probably get away, don't know about Topo, I guess he kept her for 2 days, so now she is keeping him.
the english caps were making a big deal out of Diana being a minor, kind of strange since she is in college and goes to clubs, but it's got the guys worried.
Isa made it clear to Porfi that he is no longer her man, I guess that cuddling up earlier was for Diego's benefit.
how does Marlene get around without one of those long white canes.
deb--yes, thank you for adding long white canes to our synonyms for blind as a bat. Much more colorful.
novelera--your comments always make sense....."I don't see how he'd live through it." I'd add, much less stand up as if nothing had happened. If Marlene has her way (though I don't understand why she's bothering, other than to salve her own conscience), at least Diana will remember to CLOSE THE DAMNED DOOR.
¡Muchísimas gracias! Anita, for stepping up to do last night's gruesome episode. I'm coming rather late to the party today, but I do want to say that I thought your recap was not only heroic but also wonderfully comprehensive, with some delightful snark to boot. My favorite line has already been mentioned, but it's worth quoting again: Piochas, "lately recovered from being dressed as Swiss cheese for Halloween." Among the others I enjoyed: "Joselito is getting his face rearranged" and Circe's "lips the same color red as Joselito’s blood."
I was interested to see that both Deivid and Marlene cited Diana's being a minor (menor de edad) as a serious issue, but while Deivid was worried about the fallout for Chucho, Marlene was ready to use the issue as a threat. [Hiss here]
I gotta say, like Alex and novelera, I assumed that Circe was going to use the pole/stick to violate Joselito from behind (though I prefer Alex's more vivid description :-) )
And Erick is looking for trouble. Not only is he cheating on Nuria, he's also cheating on Ramona, whose summons is what interrupts his fun with the Random Blonde.
I will put up something about tonight's (Wednesday's) episode. I don't really have time to do a full recap, but it will probably be more than a bare-bones list. As always, it will be posted late, but hopefully not as late as I usually post.
Hasta entonces.
Disgusto, tied up along with José and Topo, tells Circe he doesn't deserve to be treated this way. He gave her money, business.... Circe isn't impressed. She talks about all the harm Disgusto has done directly or indirectly. For example, his betrayal resulted in Felipa's losing an eye.
Salas plays for Zoraida the recording he has of Disgusto discussing with Gavino the fact that he can't find the gun he used to kill Ramiro. He also talks about drugs. Zoraida says if this doesn't convince Marlene what a dreadful person Disgusto is, nothing will. Salas cautions her not to talk about this too openly. "If Disgusto finds out I've given you this recording, there's no telling what he might do."
Marlene has come to where Chucho, Diego, and Deivid live, looking for Diana. Diego is stunned to learn that Marlene is planning to marry Disgusto. "He's married to my mother," Diego tells her. She explains to him that Disgusto and his mother got a divorce. Chucho tells Marlene that Diana doesn't want to live in the same house as Disgusto because he spies on her and makes her uncomfortable. Marlene says that's not true, Disgusto is a gentleman. Diana finally comes out, asks the others to leave, and has the same old talk as before with Marlene. Diana refuses to got back with her.
Circe tells Disgusto that she will arrange for him to be with Eliseo again, but before she does this, she has a favor to ask of him. "When you see Eliseo, you are going to ask his forgiveness for me for having killed him." Disgusto exclaims, "You murdered Eliseo!" No, Circe tells him, it was an accident, and you all put the gun in my hands. It was your fault. [I was astonished that she admitted to Disgusto what she did. I'm not sure why she did this.]
Isabel tells her kids that she will be working at Babel as a dancer. Amanda accuses her of dancing nude. Isabel replies that she does not dance nude, but if she did, would she stop being her mother? This turns into a PSA about not judging people by their work or by what other people think. [Yawn]
Emiliano Guevara's aunt meets with an investigator, who tells her that Emiliano apparently moved away a month ago, but the rest of the family stayed in that house. The name of the woman living there is Camila Guevara.
Disgusto keeps insisting that he's a victim, he doesn't deserve to be here, they should let him go. He blames José. Jose, meanwhile, warns JJ Ibarra that Circe will betray him. He offers JJ double or triple if he joins with José. Together, they could be kings of the drug world. JJ isn't interested.
Ramona catches Erick in a lie. He claims he was at the gym, but she knows that he was in the back room at Babel with another woman. Erick tells her if she's unhappy, she should go elsewhere. She asks him how much he would charge to see only her. He said he'd think about it.
Isabel tells Jim she wants to come back to Babel, she needs the money. Jim is glad she's back. She mentions that Paloma may not be pleased. Jim says Paloma has other things to think about. He tells Isabel that Paloma is pregnant with his child, but she doesn't want it. Jim says Paloma's wanting an abortion is madness, lunacy (una locura). Isabel says she doesn't think an abortion is madness. If a woman doesn't want a baby, she shouldn't have one. [Having a postive character like Isabel say this may be a first for Telemundo.] Jim says he offered to take the child and raise it. Isabel tells him it's not so simple. A woman carries the child for nine months and forms a bond, a strong tie (una vinculo). Or rather, una vin----. [Apparently, all the censoring is done automatically, and when the software saw culo (Spanish for ass) at the end of vinculo, it zapped those last four letters!!!] Jim asks Isabel to be discreet--no one else knows about Paloma.
Erick tells Ramona that he's decided he'll have sex only with her if she pays him 13 thousand pesos per month. She accepts. He tells her that Nuria is not part of this arrangement. She's his novia. Ramona is OK with this, she just doesn't want him sleeping with other viejas. They seal the agreement with some sex.
Mateo gets a call from Porfirio just as Mateo is about to start with a girl (and perhaps kidnap her?). Porfirio tells him he's very sick, has cirrhosis, needs a transplant. Mateo thinks he's just asking for money, or perhaps is trying to make Mateo feel bad. He tells Porfirio he won't get any money from him, he should just get a job, and then he hangs up. Porfirio begins to cry.
After he pulls himself together, Amanda asks him why he called his father. Porfirio said he wanted to tell him he was sick, but his father doesn't give a damn whether Porfirio lives or dies. He hugs Amanda but then starts coughing up blood.
The doctor tells Paloma that she had a false pregnancy. He explains that the sperm fertilizes an egg that's empty [at least, I think that's what he said]. The pregnancy hormone produces a placenta, but not a baby. However, a pregnancy test will come back positive. He says they should perform a procedure to remove the malformation from the uterus, and they should do so very soon.
Mateo is clearly shaken by the phone call from Porfirio. He tells the girls to leave temporarily, and then he and Piochas talk. I didn't get most of the conversation, but Piochas apparently says something that cheers Mateo up.
When Jim tells the girls that "Camila" has returned, all are happy--except Paloma, who is furious. Isabel tries to assure her that she's not interested in Jim, she's back simply because Porfitio is very sick and and needs a costly operation. She needs the money, just as Paloma needs money for her baby. Oops! Though I was appalled at this seeming indiscretion on Isa's part, it led to her telling Paloma all about her life with Porfirio, including his hitting her so hard she lost her baby and decided she had to leave him. She even confesses to Paloma that her name isn't really Camila Guevara, it's Isabel Fernandez. She then says "I've confided in you, and you can confide in me. We can start from zero." Amazingly, that worked. Paloma welcomes her, and they hug.
Fernanda has coffee with Salas. She's noticed that he seems different since their cita. She's afraid that perhaps he no longer wants to be her friend. He tries awkwardly to explain his feelings. He's saved by the bell, or rather, by the arrival of Diego at the cafe. Salas leaves so Fernanda and Diego can talk about private matters. Diego is furious that she gave the robbing, cheating, lying Disgusto a divorce and got nothing in return. She tries to explain that she said nothing to Diego about this because she was afraid he would kill Disgusto if he knew he was here. Diego accuses her of protecting Disgusto, but she insists that she wasn't protecting Disgusto, she was protecting Diego. She didn't want him to wind up in prison. She speaks of "we," and Diego realizes that the "we" includes Isabel. Isabel too knew about the divorce and said nothing to him. He seethes, and the episode ends.
