Mi marido tiene más familia Friday 12/14/18 Capítulo 67 Taking Steps Towards a New Normal--OR--How Many Products Can We Promote in One Episode?

Pancho runs into Robert in the hall. He notices that there is something wrong. Pancho knows that they aren't buddies or anything but they are on the same side. Maybe they could start over. Robert agrees that perhaps they just got off on the wrong foot. In spite of their quarrels, Pancho likes Robert. He'd like to have a chat with him on the stairs. By the way, Crisanta is back to snore some more in the building. That surprises Robert and he answers in his best "Pancho" imitation with "No manches!" (No way!)

Back at school, Julieta and Dave are happy to see each other.  Dave has missed them all. Susana is taking Sebas out to lunch and Axel will join them. She just wanted to spend some time with her sons. Fernando has come for Dave.  He reminds Julieta of the visitation schedule the judge set up. She tells him about how much she missed Dave and just had to see him. She didn't want to go against him or the judge. Fernando asks her to just let him be Dave's dad.  Fernando leaves with Dave.

Pancho and Robert are having that chat on the landing.  Robert admits that he had no idea they would ever take his child away.  Pancho admires him and says he is just thinking how he would be if one of his children were gone.  His heart would be split open. Pancho talks about his own problems with Julio and his reactions ever since he found out that Temo is gay.  It really hurts to see his children alienated from each other.  It is as if Julio has forgotten he loves his brother. Robert understands how love can just get away from us. That is how he feels about Julieta. Robert can't stop feeling guilty and like he broke up the family. Pancho says the same thing happened to him with Rebeca.  Pancho laughs saying he and Robert are very much alike with their great “locks “ (hair) and being quite sentimental. Robert laughs, too. They decide to try to be friends. They shake on it and "they became friends" a message on the screen tells us.

Susana is enjoying her sons over a lunch of pizza and soda. Sebas complains about the Oliver Twist role going to Julio. Pancho calls and Susana doesn't answer.  Later, she  tells Axel not to say anything to Sebas about her and Pancho. She will do that herself.

Pancho is at the table with Crisanta with a serious look on her face. He knows she has a mustache like Pancho Villa but she isn't going to try to start a revolution,  is she? No, she is just going to be a little docile fish in the water. She thinks that that will only be for a few days and then she is going to turn into a shark. The kids come in noisily but become totally silent and are surprised when they see Crisanta at the table. Pancho announces that Crisanta has come back to live with them.

Dani and Gabriel are talking about his business. He is going to name it Lucía after his mother who was also very good at planning events. Dani is proud of him. They kiss and Hermoso barks.

At home, Julieta brings Robert up to date on the day's events. Blanquita cried, Polita and her marriage, etc. She disappears into their bedroom, and yells out to Robert in Dave's bedroom that she saw Dave at school today.  He is fine. Fernando was angry that she came. Dave said he missed them all. She just wanted Robert to know . . . She says good night. Robert says good night, too.

Temo and Pancho make supper as Crisanta serenades them with her snoring.  Pancho calls Susana who apologizes for not answering the phone but she was busy with her sons.  Now she is studying Sebas' part for the play. No worries, because he understands that the children come first. Susana is worried because she cannot locate her mom.  Pancho informs her that her saintly mother Crisanta has taken up residence with him again and is snoring away.

Catalina arrives at Hugo and Diana's house and explains her plight and how she will be staying with them for a while.

Temo has a heart to heart talk with Pancho about not being able to get Ari out of his mind. He cannot sleep because every time he closes his eyes he sees Ari's face.

Ari talks to Polita. She tells him about wanting a divorce. All of a sudden, Ari looks stricken and guilty.

Dani is in bed with Gabriel. Hermoso is settled in his bed.  She is wide awake and thinking of babies. Gabriel wakes up and asks what's going on.  Dani thinks they are ready. She wants to be a mother. She wants to get pregnant.

Julieta wakes up in the middle of the night with a mosquito buzzing around her  head. It ends up that she can't sleep and she can't kill it. She chases it to Robert in Dave's room. Robert cannot take it any more and launches an attack. He smashes it with a book.  He then decides to tell Julieta about the great opportunity he has been given to go to Africa. It is not a done deal. Just an offer. It would be a great opportunity for him. She asks if he would consider going with all that is going on with Dave, their finances and their own problems as a couple. Robert thinks that since she cannot bear to be in the same room as he and since his education is so important to him, this would be the time for him to put his professional development as a priority for the first time.

Dave is sitting on the couch with his little red sweater thinking about his "Oppa" family and missing them. Fernando talks with Dave. He understands that he misses his other parents and that he and Dave are just getting used to each other. He assures Dave that little by little they will be really happy. This weekend he will spend time Robert and Julieta and his little sister. Dave is super lucky because he has two families. Dave asks if Fernando has anyone else but him. Fernando tells Dave no and that he is the only one but that he is enough and more than enough. Dave smiles.

Imelda calls Blanca to let her know that Tulio is about to drink again. Imelda tells him  he has to come over. He is stronger than the alcohol. He doesn't know if he can resist. She begs him to do it for her. Yes, he will come to her house.

Robert and Julieta are still talking. Julieta thinks that six months in Africa is not a short time to be away.. He won't be able to see his daughter and will be on the other side of the world. Robert repeats that he was only thinking about it. She adds them now having to rent the house and no place for her and Blanquita to stay to the other problems on their list.  Robert doesn't see that as a deterrent. If they cannot find a suitable place, she and Blanquita could stay with his mom. It would only be for several  months.  He could get trained, learn and send home a lot more money than what he is making now.  Julieta asks about Dave. Regrettably he feels like there is nothing more they can do about that situation.  Robert doesn't want her to think that he is being selfish. This is just an opportunity that has gotten them to think outside the box. He is leaving the decision up to her.

Dani and Gabriel continue talking about having a baby. Even Hermoso likes the idea. Gabriel is so happy and goes on and on. They want to get started on the baby making process right away but Dani tells Gabriel that Hermoso has to leave the room first.

Polita tells Ari that she no longer admires his father. She thought that Audifaz was a positive hard working man who was going to make her happy but things are not working out that way. Divorce is the only thing she has left.  Ari doesn't want Polita or little Arqui to suffer. He can find them another place to live and get a job and support them.  Polita tells him he such a kind heart.  Ari suggests  couples therapy. Polita says that won't work and  remembers walking in an Audi and Aura. She shakes her head and says it is not Ari's fault. It is between her and Audifaz.  Ari should never apologize for being who he is.  She wants to see him completely happy. He needs to go out and live and love. He has only one life.

Pancho is all ready to talk to Cuautémoc the last Aztec emperor over some sandwiches. Temo asks Pancho if it bothers him when he is honest with him and talks about who he is and what he feels. Pancho says if it is important to Temo, it is important to him.  Temo doesn't have to tell him all the details but he interested in what is going on in Temo's life. Pancho thought he was going out with Ari. Temo explains that things didn't work out with Ari. Pancho would like him to find someone who wants him, too. Pancho asks about Diego. Ari explains that Diego is his "friend".   Temo explains that just beause someone is gay doesn't mean that you are going to "like" them.  He thanks Pancho for trying to understand and turns the topic to Susana.

Susana is sitting up in her dining room when Sebas comes down wanting some chocolate milk. She gives in and they end up playing a game and doing a commercial for "Monos locos(Crazy Monkeys). and then playing another with false mustaches. She tells him that she loves him and is proud of him and what he will become. She loves him. Sebas loves her, too.  That is something Susana is going to remember as she thinks back on all of their difficult moments.

Pancho explains to Temo that he will always carry Temo's mother and Rebeca in his heart. Temo says he doesn't have to explain anything. He wants Pancho to find love again. Pancho explains that love has arrived again.  He tells Temo, in confidence,  that he is attracted to Susana and is in love with her.

Julieta tells Robert that he is the only one who can make the decision to accept the offer or not. Robert is asking her opinion because he knows that their last fight was about a decision he had made. She clarifies the situation that it was because he made the decision without consulting her.  They had a pact so it was hard for her to hear how he feels as if he doesn't exist and that he feels like he is not fulfilling his potential.  If going to Africa does it for him, she will not stand in the way of his dreams.  She understands how it is to want to develop professionally.  He has always supported her.  If he needs to take this trip, he needs to do it. She assures him they will work it out. Robert's phone rings.  It is Blanca. She needs him to come over because of Tulio. He says he will be right over. Julieta tells Robert that that is what makes him a good doctor and a good father. He is always looking out for everybody else.  She thinks destiny is pushing him to make a decision.  It is time that he do something for himself. Robert doesn't look like he necessarily likes what he is hearing.

Dave cries in his bed thinking back on how mean he was to his mother.

Catalina is at Hugo's.  She takes out an iron. Diana cannot believe she is actually ironing. Catalina promises not to make their home a "hell"  They get into it. Catalina says she comes in peace. She knows she is a lot better since she got her job.  She is only there because she got flooded out. Hugo and Diana want her agree to a list of rules of the house so they can all live peacefully together. Catalina is not happy.

At Blanca's, Robert tells Tulio he did the right thing coming over.  Alcoholism is a disease and he needs treatment.  If AA is not helping him enough, he suggests that Tulio enter a rehab center.  Tulio is agreeable to the suggestion. He wants to get better.  Polita asks Blanca if she can sleep at her place. Blanca says sure. They are family.

The next day, Dani and Gabriela are all happy eating Bimbo madelines and chilaquiles for breakfast.  He tells her she can have whatever she wants. He even has a pair of tiny baby shoes already bought for their first baby.

Lupita asks a pensive Dave what is wrong. He can tell her whatever he feels. Dave is conflicted. He wants to go back to live with the "Oppas" but doesn't want to hurt Fernando.

Julieta visits the altar of the Virgin of Guadalupe.  She knows she doesn't visit often or really at all but she needs to talk to her.

Vicente asks Robert if he has made his decision. Yes, Robert has decided to accept the position in Africa but he needs several weeks  to get things in order for his family before he leaves.

It was all Bimbo and toys tonight!

Robert looked a little sad when Julieta gave him the green light to go to Africa. Beware of what you ask for . . .

There sure were a lot of flashbacks tonight.

I am happy that Crisanta is back n the fray and look forward to her turning into the shark she said she would.

More tomorrow.

Jarifa, thank you for this great recap of an episode better than what they have been serving us lately.

Crisanta should be fun.

I was a little disappointed in Fernando. Julieta only went to the school to see Dave, not to take him away. I understand that Fernando feels a little insecure at times. That business with his shoes compared to others' shoes, and the fact that he doesn't have the money to pay Dave's tuition, and other things are making it a little difficult for him.
Still, he could have been nicer to Julieta, especially in front of Dave.

Aside from that, I'm hoping Caray or Caray2 will still be around in the future.

:-(

Thanks so much Jarifa! I recorded it and watched most of it. Thanks for giving me the details I have missed. (Sometimes I fast forward too much)

I was a little dismayed that Robert is really going to go to Africa. I had thought about that a few weeks ago when Vicente came back. So what this thing in Africa is going to pay him well? I thought it was more of a volunteer things like a Doctors without Borders. Robert and Julieta need to solve their personal and financial problems. Running away to Africa is not the answer.

I was so glad to see Sebas finally warming up to his mother too. It was sweet watching them.

Kirby: What's the latest scoop with the Punk Rocker Girl & her lover, who's Buji family hates her ?

Good morning, all!

Andy, I do agree that Fernando was, let’s say, a little brusque with Julieta. It bothered me that it was in front of Dave, too. He could have told her all that he did in a phone call.

Cynthia, ITA about the Doctors Without Borders depiction and my understanding but that wouldn’t be the first time my “understanding” would be different than what is in the plot. Certainly “running away to Africa” is not the answer to financial or marital problems.

Haven't seen this yet, but got a kick out of your Product Placements title. All we need now is Catalina with a shoe catalog, ready to take orders for those fabulous heels etc. I figure the orange juice industry is also a player, because in every telenovela, you see them drinking orange juice with all their meals.

Oh well, happy to hear that this episode was a little more upbeat. It's a dreary, rainy day here in Columbus.

Susanlynn, I was away yesterday afternoon, but so glad that you reached out to the Patio after a rough day. We are always here for each other. Sometimes late, but always.

Thanks Jarifa. Actually, chilequiles sound really good right now. Wish Blanca were in MY kitchen, ready to whip up some for me.

Thank you, Jarifa.

Judyb, thanks. The foggy gray weather that we are getting this weekend is not helping my spirits.

Andy, I would hate to lose this warm and safe place . I have been losing a lot lately.

It's a gloomy day here too Susanlynn. As I looked at the dreary gray rain outside earlier, I was hoping that you had sunshine and clear skies, but I guess not. Winter is especially challenging when you're grieving. But our patio is always warm and sunny because of the people who are on it. Blessings to you and yours....

Susanlynn, yes, it was very sad to hear that this blog could be gone very soon like in a week. It will be missed.

Wonderful Jarifa.

Another exceptional title and recap.

Enjoyed the lighter tone of last night’s episode. Seeing the two mothers greeting Dave and Sebas at school (with vastly different parting though) was heartening.

Favorite moment was Pancho and Robert bonding with Robert’s little devilish expressions a pure delight.

A sober reminder that Dave is suffering.

I still think having Robert go to Africa may be the catalyst that brings he and Julieta back together. Perhaps a brief separation will make them realize what they have.

Gabe and Dani having fun and David and Lupita swinging their legs in unison were other reminders as to why I love this show.

I'm very unnerved at even the thought that this blog might shut down. I would be devastated. This has been my support and refuge for a decade and I consider that I've made real friends here. A "warm and safe place" is the perfect description susanlynn.

I am hoping one of our angels here will be able to step in. I have several in mind but don't want to give any names as not to put any pressure on anyone.

Friends, I have to believe that Christmas will come and that we will be here together.

Jarifa, you are so appreciated! I enjoy every single word. Always.

Diana

SusanLynn and Diana:

Don't worry. This safe warm place is not going away.
We have a little team working out the kinks to transition to the people who live here.
We are working with Jane and If anything it will be better.

Kirby

Jarifa, thank you for your recap. I watched this while making Xmas cookies 🎄🍪🎄 so there was more listening than watching.

When Julieta was talking to Robert in the other room at bedtime, I almost expected to hear "Goodnight, John Boy..."

How nice to have a more upbeat-than-lately episode. And nice to see Sebas treating his mother well. I almost do not trust it.

Jane's message about accusations of depravity at Caray is confusing to me . Our MMTMF Patio has been most enjoyable and everyone is very dear to me.

Kirby, I will place my hopes in your message because if we lose Caray, I will be homeless as far as telenovela watching goes.

Cookies done, iced, sprinkled, plated, and we are off in an hour to our Sunday school class Xmas party. Always fun and good food. Let the grazing begin. LOL

Kirby, thank you. I have had enough life changes lately. I would really miss being able to distract myself everyday by dropping in here to read the recaps and comments from my cyber buds.

Kirby, let me add my voice to susanlynn and doris' in thanking you.

Caray is my sanctuary. I will leave it at that...

Diana

JudyB, yes! Catalina with a shoe catalog would be perfect. There was just so much advertising I could not believe it. We are into dense fog this a.m. I hope it burns off well enough to see my beloved Bears hopefully clinch the NFL north by beating the hated Packers (not really but only when playing the Bears)

Diana, I sure enjoyed Pancho and Robert together especially when Robert answered Pancho like Pancho! I think they could provide us with lots of laughs. Now I woukd love to see them on a road trip.

doris, “. . .so there was more listening than watching.” had me laughing. That is how I usually write my recaps. Making Christmas cookies sounds like a delicious activity for this weekend. I will be baking later this week. Anyway, Yes, there was that “Goodnight, John Boy” quality to that scene.

Yes, Kirby, things are sounding a lot more hopeful than yesterday morning. : )

Busy, busy Sunday and week coming up.

Good morning Jarifa, and thanks for being such a dedicated facilitator and monitor in this terrific Patio of ours. I love both the Bears (husband's team) and the Packers (sweet memories of my time teaching in Wisconsin)so I'll be happy whoever wins.

Making Christmas cookies sounds lovely. I have a wonderful recipe for roll-out cookies but my daughters have very strict rules for limiting sugar to their children, so I no longer make them. And our son, who used to be alarmingly thin has started to put on the pounds in middle age. Still....hey, it isn't Christmas without cookies and there's always the freezer! (Am I rationalizing here? Yep.)

Like everyone else here I love the Patio and the Recappers and hope that CarayCaray will be able to continue. I understand Jane's need to put her energy where it's most needed, but it would be very sad to see this warm and friendly place in internet space disappear.

JudyB, no problem ever with an opportunity for making Xmas cookies. As you mentioned, they do freeze well but never hard enough not to eat directly from the freezer especially with a hot cup of coffee. I will be making hundreds of kolačkes on Wed.-Thurs. If there is any energy left, I may do some Linzer or sugar cookies next weekend.

Jarifa... What are kolackes? My mother made the thinnest , most delicate cookies I have ever seen. My girls and I would go to the farm one day before the holidays . Mother would make the dough and cut out the cookies. The girls would decorate, and my job was to do the dishes. ...always my job . I never made cookies. The girls and I made small nut breads ever year to give away.

Judyb...Carlos is laughing somewhere now about us sharing baking stories. Remember his love of pibil? I still don't know what that is.

It remains gray and overcast here.

Ah Carlos...how I miss that guy! And I did finally get to taste pibil when my youngest got married in Mexico. Her husband loved the pibil that was served at a certain restaurant on the bus tour to see the Mayan ruins, so I had some. Not my favorite but okay. However at the hotel where we were staying, they served the most marvelous green drink made of all kind of veggies and fruit and you literally felt healthier after just one sip. It was a great week (although the heat was stultifying for me) and now I have a little baby grandson in town, so pibil and Mexico are all golden as far as I'm concerned.

Susanlynn, It is a Czech delight that is basically yeast dough or a cookie type dough with fruit filling. I do a cookie version with dough made of sour cream, flour snd Crisco with apricot, prune or poppyseed fillings. The ones I make are small basically one bite. They are a once a year endevor for family and friends and me!

It is 34 and sunny here. I will take it!

Yikes, I'm feeling ravenous just reading about those Czech cookies. Will you adopt me Jarifa? I'm sure we'd be great pals.

Alas, gray and rainy here. Columbus specializes in gray skies and folks on Prozac and Zoloft.

Good Morning, Patio! Well it's still morning where i am and we started off at 38 degress, but the sun is shining quite brightly.

Jarifa, you never cease to impress. Thank your for such a sterling recap.

I too enjoyed Robert and Pancho finally becoming friends. NOw when will Imelda and Crisanta follow? HA!!

I also laughed when Julieta was fighting off that mosquito...reminded me of the many nights I have done the same.

Isn;t it miraculous how Gabe got cured of his SEVERE depression and Dani is now ready to be a mommy? Ughh! Only in a TN!

OT - Those of you who know about my "kids", know that I got rid of all the boys so as not ↑ to get any more surprises. Well, apparently I didn't get rid of them soon enough! ->->->->↑
So I've been quite busy with that...among other things. Betty Jo,the brown goat, has never had a successful pregnancy, so she tries to play surrogate to the other babies. She actually got very attached to Clarissa, the black mama goat, so now she is helping take care of her grandnieces/nephews (I haven't checked for gender yet :-/)

Ay, Caray! Christmas cookies! When is the patio Christmas party?

And ladies and gents, don't stress about Caray...have faith! There are angels in the form of loyal, dedicated people who will make sure it'll be here for much longer than you think :-)

OT...Chickie...more kids!!! Will you keep the males?

Gray, Drizzly, and damp all day here. Spent the day doing my chores and hub's (taking out the garbage and recycling). Put out a few Christmas decorations since my sister is coming to see me tomorrow. Then I was off on some errands.

Judyb..I will be thinking of Carlos when I make my baked corn casserole for Christmas dinner. I might try a hash brown potato casserole, too .

Ah that corn casserole, full of butter and sour cream and, let's face it, yummy. A little indulgence at the holidays seems just right. Especially in this "cold, dark Winter" as the old hymn goes. Carlos would approve I'm sure.

The legendary corn casserole (as we call it) is a must here for the holidays! Susanlynn, a hash brown one sounds like it could be a keeper, too.

RGV Chick - new baby kids! Awwwww!

I've seen Linzers on and off thru the years and love those type cookies, Jarifa. I've never seen kolačkes though. They sound good!

My spritz cookies were a hit last night. Nothing left on that tray. LOL

Shall we have a Xmas party on the patio? Lots of cookies! Cookies are good. No forks required. :-)

RGV Chick - are those the new babies in your avatar??? Awwwww! So cute!

Thanks, Jarifa. Great job.

Yay, Pancho and Robert are friends at last. Love the comic side Pancho brings out in Robert. I just can't see Robert leaving for Africa right now.

Yokes, I'm craving Christmas cookies and all I have is oatmeal!

RGV Chickie, congratulations on the new kids!

It also sounds like some people, including you and Kirby I think, but whoever, are planning to save Caray. Yay!

doris., "Jane's message about accusations of depravity at Caray is confusing to me . Our MMTMF Patio has been most enjoyable and everyone is very dear to me."

I believe the problem (though I'm not sure it rose, or fell, to the level of depravity) was at another patio.

andy

RGV Chick: Loved your comment, "Isn't it miraculous how Gabe got cured of his SEVERE depression and Dani is now ready to be a mommy? Ughh! Only in a TN!" Maybe the reality show did the trick for him!

Oh congratulations on your "kids".

Niecie: I made some oatmeal cookies last night. I think Oatmeal cookies make good Christmas cookies. I do make the regular shaped sugar cookies for Christmas and decorate. I just haven't done that yet this year.

OT-

Susanlynn, I haven't even looked to see the gender; I don't want to know that they are males!! LOL But if there are some males, yes, I will have to separate them as early as possible and sell them.

Doris those are the new kids that I got two days ago. I'll post pics of the ones that were born today--SEVEN!! White Paw had three and Ruby had two! AAACKKK!!!And, no, I don't want to check for gender on those ...yet.

Andy, thanks!

Cynthia, "Maybe the reality show did the trick for him!" ...or maybe they prayed to the TN gods :-)

RgvChick, I love your goat tales. I had a chance to mingle with some goats at the zoo lately. They have always been a favorite photographic subject for me. Very photogenic animals.

Cynthia, my hat is off to you decorating cookies. I even took a class last year and mine still looked like a mess. Sprinkles is as far as I go on those. Oatmeal cookies are always good.

Niecie, I hope Robert decides to stay, too. I cannot see it being a good decision right now. Too much turmoil. I think Pancho could have a good influence on Robert and vice versa.

Yes, luckily our patio has been very calm and peaceful just the way we like it! ☺️

OT..Chickie, if you sold the males, I guess that means that Jamie and Frank are gone, but do you still have Claire?

Good morning, patio peeps. Again, family and life circumstances limit my visits to the patio. I hope the plans to keep CC alive and blooming succeed. It is a bright spot in one's day.

RgvChick, I'm happy for your new kids. We really enjoyed our goats--so cute and fun. This is a place where we share our joys and sorrows as well as our addiction to TNs. I hope all of you are having a wonderful holiday season.

Howdy peeps,

I was alarmed to see Jane's message on the blog, and I'm glad someone is working to keep Caray alive. I miss hanging out here (and having the time to hang out here) with all of you.

And now I'm craving cookies, too.

Also, I would love to see some of the alleged depravity.

LaPaloma, thanks for stopping by when you can. We miss you when you cannot check in once in a while. It is always good to see you.

Julie, we also miss you on the patio. Thanks for coming on by.

I am very hopeful Caray will stay around. It was just about three years ago whenJane first wanted to limit/close the blog down.Funny how history repeats itself. Anyway, I have nothing but respect and gratitude to Jane for keeping it it going all of these years. Everyone’s interests and priorities change so I have no problem with her wanting to move on.

We will save you seats at the 🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪cookie table on the patio . . .

Hi, Julie and Paloma.

Susanlynn, yes, Claire is still here. In fact,I think she was pregnant, but had a miscarriage :-(

Hey Everyone, just got a notice that Caray, Caray, is still in business and now running under new management. Thank you for all your support. We all love you here in the patio.

Cynthia H - Thank you for this wonderful news!!!

Oh Doris, I just looove your avatar! SO cute!!!
