Mi marido tiene más familia Wednesday 12/12/18 Capítulo 66 The Cooper's Face Their Problems--OR--Venus Enters Catalina's Fifth House (Romance)

Tavo comes over to Catalina's to assess the flooding situation. He insists that she come stay with him at his place as a friend.

Gabriel falls out of be and is all excited because today is the day he is starting his new business. He and Dani go to kiss and the dog barks for some attention, too.

Imelda gets a surprise to start her day. It is Crisanta at her door in a sun hat and sunglasses. Crisanta explains  that she is on vacation and she is going to stay in the apartment that belongs to her daughter. Imelda is left with her mouth hanging open but then asks what could Crisanta gain living there.  Crisanta wants to be close to her husband' ashes and to know that her life with him was not in vain. She knows Imelda understands her pain.

Audifaz is about to leave the apartment. Polita tells him this time he is not going to run away from his problems as he has always done. She feels very sad. She is disappointed in  his reaction to Ari and to her finding him with that woman. She no longer trusts him. She reminds him  how tough it was for her when her own mother abandoned her and left her feeling like she was nothing. She is not about to go down that road again. She needs to know who she is without him.   She is done. She cannot live with a man who despises his own son. She wants a divorce. Audifaz's expression shows that it wasn't quite what he was expecting.

After Ari leaves for school, Julieta fills Robert in on their mortgage situation.  They are almost four payments behind and her penalty at work is still not paid off.  They also need to continue paying Dave's tuition so Dave doesn't take him out of that school.  They could sell things but Robert doesn't want to get rid of their vehicle because of Blanquita. Julieta thinks that  they will have to rent the house.

Audifaz says he will refuse to give Polita a divorce. It is against his religion. She makes the point that it has nothing to do with religion but with his attitude.  He preaches on that divorce is prohibited by the word of God.  She reminds him that other things are also prohibited like despising one's own son.  He starts pontificating on the ills of homosexuality one time too many. Polita tells him to just shut up already.  She feels terrible even living in the house with a man who is so different from the one she fell in love with.  She is asking for a divorce because they no longer happy or love each other.

Robert says there has to be another alternative. Julieta does not think so and the way their debts keep mounting. If they cannot pay up, the bank will certainly take the house.  It is better to just rent the house and be done with it. Robert cannot believe this is happening now on top of their other problems.  Robert agrees that she is right and it is probably time for him to give up the foundation. Julieta doesn't want that to happen after all of the work he has put in. It would make it seem as if had been for nothing. She cannot work anymore than she is working.  She tells him about the personal loan she rejected because she just  couldn't  replace one loan with another.  She rejects his idea of a loan from the hospital for the same reason.  She finds it incredible that they are finding themselves in this situation. He is an important doctor and she is a vice-president at a corporation and the money is just not enough.  Robert thinks about the position Vicente offered him in Africa.  Robert thinks there must be come alternative they can come  up with now that they are talking again.

On the stage at the school, Axel and Iker are going to have a wrestling match to see who can better defend Linda. Linda gets on a chair as the men strip down to get a better view. Axel wins the match.

Fernando takes Dave to school. He will have to talk to Dave's "Oppa" parents about paying his tuition. He suddenly feels self-conscious about the state of his own shoes when he sees the shoes of other parents at the school. Lupita and Dave are happy to see each other.

The doorbell rings at Julieta's. It is Tavo and Catalina. Robert and Julieta wonder what is up.  Tavo looks a little sheepish.  Catalina says the black cloud came back with triple the lightening  strikes. Everything is flooded at her house, Tavo agrees. Robert asks Tavo how he would know.  Julieta looks puzzled. Tavo explains that after Catalina's therapy, they became very good friends. Catalina goes on saying that he quit being  being her  psychologist for ethical reasons. They all nod in agreement.  She will have to move in with  Hugo because they have Ari staying with them.  Since she could not contact them last night, she, with great "regret," had to spend the night at Tavo's house.  Robert's and Julieta's eyes get real wide. Julieta says "mamá"! Tavo says there was nothing regretful about it. Tavo says his house is her house and Catalina giggles. She thanks him but promises not to bother him anymore. Julieta says it is good for Catalina to be thinking of staying elsewhere because she and Robert are probably going to have to rent the house.

Diana welcomes Dave back to school. Sebas makes a big deal about it and Julio watches it all. Diana reminds them about everything coming up: first communion for many of them and then "Oliver Twist". A new assignment: write about what your dad means to you. Dave doesn't know which dad to write about.

At work, Robert talks with Tavo. Robert tells him he is thinking about taking Vicente up on the Africa offer.  The problem is he cannot leave Julieta and Blanquita with no where to live. Tavo thinks it is a good idea. He could support both his family and the foundation that way.  Fernando has come to see Robert.

At work, Susana is on the phone with Pancho as big red heart shaped balloons saying "I Love You" float past her window.  Pancho is at the bakery and says "his novia" (he loves how that sounds) deserves that and more. Love knows how to fly! She loves him. He is floating in the clouds . . . Julieta knocks and ends the call.  When she comes in, Susana tries to hide the balloons with putting posters over the windows supposedly to "block the sun". Julieta only wants to know if she can suspend her penalty payments temporarily because she is in a real financial predicament.  Susana asks Julieta to go see if Catalina is in the hall and in the meantime, she lowers the blinds and the balloons finally are hidden.

Fernando tells Robert that he has changed his routine so Dave can stay in the same school. He is just uncomfortable that they are paying his son's tuition. Robert knows it isn't easy but he wants Fernando to remember that whatever they do, they are only doing it for Dave's benefit. Dave is a son to all three of them.  Fernando also needs some advice. How can he connect better with his son? Robert suggests to just be himself so Dave gets to know him.

Dani works,  Hermoso barks and barks messages of love between her and Gabriel. Clarisa comes in to help her brother with his new venture.  Gabriel will be the best event planner in all of Oaxaca. They do the Mussi cheer.

Susana has bad news for Julieta. Because of policy, the company cannot cover the fine or allow Julieta stop payment.  Julieta thought that would be the answer but had to ask anyway.  Susana understands that Julieta is going through a very difficult time and  offers to lend her some money. Julieta says no. Susana wants Julieta to hear her out. The loan would be with interest of course but with much lower interest than any bank. She asks Julieta to let her help her out as her boss.

Pancho comes home to Crisanta sitting in his living room with her suitcase.  If it is not too inconvenient, she would like to stay with him a short time. Her daughter owns the apartment and she wants to help him  raise his kids because she found out that he and Susana are novios. That means they are family. He is her son-in-law and she is his mother-in-law. She starts bossing him around.

Daniela is still thinking of babies and Hermoso is still barking. She has made him a dog bed.

Polita tells Blanca about asking for a divorce.  Polita says she never thought she could confront Audifaz.  Blanca admits that as women they have kept quiet for a long time.  Blanca suggests couples therapy. Polita  says the worst part of it is hat she just doesn't want to be with him anymore. Her children are all that are important to her. Polita asks if all the love she had for him is gone.

Audifaz tells Tulio about getting a divorce.  Tulio says he's been through that already. Audifaz says his wife has never spoken to him like that before.  It is as if she stopped loving him. Tulio tells Audifaz to put himself in Polita's place. She doesn't feel supported. He doesn't have a job and is hanging out with that Aura.

Imelda comes in and interrupts Blanca and Polita.  Something has to be done to get Crisanta out of the building.  Imelda asks what is going on. Polita tells her that she asked Audifaz for a divorce. Imelda says "No way!" will that happen on her watch.

Julieta talks to Catalina about  staying with Hugo. Has she talked to him and Diana? No, and she is afraid of what Diana is going to say. Julieta is sorry she cannot help her out. Catalina says no problem. If things don't get straightened out with Hugo, she will just go and stay with Octavio again.  Julieta never knew they were so friendly.  Catalina was surprised herself by how naturally their friendship happened.  Julieta is going to spend some time with Blanquita. She misses her and Dave. Catalina doesn't want her to take this the wrong way but she will see Dave again. He is right there in the city.  Julieta thanks Catalina because she is feeling desperate. Catalina hugs and kisses her.

Linda joins the discussion at home about if a woman has the right to make a change if she is not happy with a husband or a boyfriend.  Imelda can't see anyone throwing out all of those years of marriage.  A couple should try to solve their problems rather than separating.  Polita tells her nicely she isn't the best one t give advice given her track record with Canuto.  Imelda thinks that was different because Canuto was unfaithful. Polita says Audifaz is doing the same thing with Aura that woman from his church. Also, she is not staying with a man who hates his own son. Blanca says it is important  for Imelda to listen to both sides. Suddenly, Julieta appears on the scene. In the hallway,  Blanca fills her in on Polita's situation and says they need Julieta's "modern woman" point of view. Robert shows up to also see Blanquita. Robert tells Blanca they are going to have to rent the house to make the payments. So, they will have to find another place to live.  Blanca offers her home. They can count on them and stay with them. Expressionless, Julieta thinks about it . . .

Of course, Imelda is sticking up for Audifaz. He is just confused because of Ari.  She knows Audifaz would never be unfaithful. Polita is so tired of women like Imelda who she blames for helping "machismo" continue because of their attitudes. Linda tells Imelda that you cannot justify men's bad behavior. Polita tells Imelda to put herself in her place as a woman. Her son is not doing the right thing.

Julieta doesn't know if living there would be a good idea because of a lack of space. Blanca  sees it as only a wonderful chance to spend time together. Robert says they will have to talk about it. There would be no rent, good food, easy childcare, and she could spoil and pamper them . . . They don't have to decide right now. Blanca wants them to know he door is always open for them. Julieta thanks her.  Blanca goes back into her apartment.

Pancho is making hot chocolate as Crisanta goes on how she will be the granny of the López-Córcegas. Pancho tries to slow things down saying Susana and he are barely novios. Crisanta thinks they are a beautiful couple. She wants to plan a beach wedding. Pancho chokes on his hot chocolate and says he burned his tongue.   Crisanta tells hi the real reason she wants to be at the building.  She wants to find out more about Canuto and try to understand the man she never knew completely. Now, that Pancho can understand that.

Robert and Julieta start to discuss Blanca's invitation. Robert sees it as a real option with lots of advantages. Julieta knows how things are not exactly peaceful with his family. She doesn't want any chaos.   Robert agrees but it might be their only real option. They agree to discuss it more at home.  Robert gives Julieta the good news that Fernando has agreed to allow Dave to continue at his school.

Hermoso, Dani and Gabriel appear.   Robert  didn't know that Gabriel was so into dogs. Dani says it is an experiment to see if hey are ready to be responsible for anther life.  Julieta notices a bite on Gabriel's hand. iI was from another doge, not Hermoso. Gabriel says they will be seeking Robert's and Julieta's advice from them when they are parents.

Back at Blanca's, they all discuss the possibility of Julieta and Robert coming to stay. Linda thinks it would be a tragedy if Julieta ended living with her mother-in-law.  Blanca reminds  her that families exist to help  each other. Imelda doesn't think it is a very good idea because the Córcega's think very differently from Julieta. Suddenly Robert, Julieta, Dani, Hermoso and Gabriel all come in. Hermoso jumps into Imelda's lap.

At school, Iker tells Dave and Sebas that Julio will be Oliver in the presentations. Iker didn't know if Dave was coming back to their school so the role went to Julio. Sebas  argues it isn't fair because Dave is better than Julio. Iker goes on to say the best he can do is for Dave and Julio to  do alternate performances. Julio is not too happy but everyone cheers.

Blanca asks Julieta and Robert about their opinions on divorce.  Julieta has never been in favor of these "interventions" but if a woman decides to get a divorce, she must have some good reasons to do so.  Imelda says it just proves what she said: Julieta doesn't think like they do.  Robert asks her to let Julieta give her point of view and for everyone to respect each other.

It is later in the day, and Julieta is outside of the school. She is using her lunch time to go see Dave. Susana is there, too, and for the same reason: her family.  Julieta apologizes for being so defensive but it has been so hard being away from her son.  Susana  tells her to be strong for him and for her family. Susana is there to support her however she can. All Julieta has to do is ask. Susana says she is a woman and a mom so she has been there.  Julieta calls out to Dave.  He runs to her and they hug.

Another good one.

Catalina and Tavo were so cute as Robert and Julieta became aware of their relationship.

Pancho and Crisanta were a real hoot tonight but then so were Pancho and Susana with the balloons.

I felt sorry for Fernando when he was comparing his own shoes to those of the other parents. I like Fernando.

Jarifa, you're still on a roll with your titles!! and of course a delightful recap to follow. Thank you!

Agree with your comments above. Can we just X-out or white out the Axel-Iker fight? blech! What a waste of air time.

More manana!

Jarifa, thanks. I love the "Venus Enters Catalina's Fifth House"

This chapter was not quite so depressing, but I'm still tired of Audifaz and of Linda and her two silly suitors. Rgv Chickie, ITA "Can we just X-out or white out the Axel-Iker fight?" That was so bad it was embarrassing.

"Julieta notices a bite on Gabriel's hand." Uh, oh. Sounds like another problem and the PSA that goes with it.

I still find it a bit hard to believe in Tavo and Catalina as a couple, but I'm willing to be convinced. I had great doubts about Susana and Pancho and they seem to be working out just fine. In fact at times they save this TN from being totally depressing; I'm looking forward to happier times in Oaxaca.
Crisanta is fun and much nicer than Imelda, but then, who isn't much nicer than Imelda?

andy

Jarifa, your title? Inspired. Wonderful, wonderful recap.

You always capture the events so perfectly: "He preaches on that divorce is prohibited by the word of God. She reminds him that other things are also prohibited like despising one's own son". Thank you.

Finally, Julieta and Robert are actually conversing. With each other. Granted, it’s not murmurings of love or affection, but at least they are attempting to solve their financial dilemma. Together.

“There would be no rent, good food, easy childcare, and she could spoil and pamper them”. Hmm. Let’s see. Free room, board, childcare, meals and a comfortable home vs. losing a bit of privacy. May all such decisions be so easy.

Glad Susana offered to lend Julieta money. Her heart is in the right place. Take it Julieta.

I’m starting to wonder a bit if Robert going to Africa might not be a bad idea. His career is stalled in gear, he and Julieta are drowning financially and a change of scenery might be just what he and Julieta need. Julieta has family to keep her company and while the situation poses many issues, it might do more good than harm.

“…the men strip down to get a better view”. Unfortunately for us, seeing a shirtless Axel is not a better view, is it? I keep yearning for Fuego en la Sangra and the fabulous shirtless baker boyz (right doris? Niecie?)

"Can we just X-out or white out the Axel-Iker fight? blech! What a waste of air time". Yes, RgvChick. Who on earth cares???

“She knows Imelda understands her pain” Oh, undoubtedly!

“Imelda says "No way!" will that happen on her watch”. Shut. Up. Imelda. And andy, "who isn't much nicer than Imelda?" You nailed that one! :)

Ack. “Polita is so tired of women like Imelda who she blames for helping "machismo" continue because of their attitudes”. Tell her Pol!

Some small steps forward...And I've tried to stiffen my spine but so far, can frnakly find no fault with Fernando. I'm shocked he asked Robert for some advice. Maybe this extended family really can work (?)

Things aren't looking quite so bleak. Thanks to some talking and listening on the part of our characters and some masterful words from our recapper.

Thank you Jarifa!

Diana

Okay, best Jarifa title ever!!!!! "Venus Enters Catalina's Fifth House" That had me laughing hysterically. Have always found horoscopes really amusing and you nailed it.

More later.

Jarifa: Catalina has a 5th house ? Who does she think she is...... Pena Nieto ?

I agree with Diana (as I often do) that Julieta moving in with the loving Blanca and Robert going off for a bit to Africa might be just the ticket. Financial troubles and exhaustion, feeling unappreciated and under-valued can totally erode a marriage. This may be the temporary solution to all their problems. Plus as Fernando finds out the challenges of being a single parent, he may welcome, rather than reject, Robert and Julieta's help. All depends on attitude.

As for Polita and Audifaz' marriage...I doubt that there will be a divorce, although I understand the PSA for it. I think Audifaz will eventually see the error of his ways if Polita moves ahead with a separation. Imelda, at this point, just seems to be a straw man representing all the "old ideas" that this telenovela is attempting to knock down. We shall see.

If Imelda is dead set on Polita getting a divorce, Polita should run off Audi, get a fake death certificate for him, and put an empty coffin in a grave topped with a nice marker. Imelda shouldn’t have a problem with that!

"Imelda, at this point, just seems to be a straw man representing all the "old ideas" that this telenovela is attempting to knock down". Very well phrased Judy...

"Polita...get a fake death certificate for him, and put an empty coffin in a grave topped with a nice marker". RgvChick: MUST it be empty?? :)I dunno, my charitable quotient is low today. Audi is a hot mess.

Diana

Personally i enjoyed the stripped down fighting between Iker and Axel. Iker is Hotttt!!! and Axel has a good body too. Just don't like how Linda just doesn't make up her mind and pick Iker already

Forgot to mention "we" are being preempted for futbol tonight.

Sigh.

Diana

Diana, thanks for the info about the soccer. Did they announce it during the show last night?I FF’d myvideo during commercials.

Thanks for stopping by the patio, everyone. It certainly seemed like a lighter episode last night. The Linda subplot does nothing for me but there are so many plots/subplots that there are other plots to keep me happy.

It is a busy day for me. I will stop back later.

Jarifa, when I didn't see any previews last night, I checked the Comcast schedule and futbol was showing for tonight. I'm fairly certain I had checked it two days ago and there was no futbol on the horizon.

Diana

I can back you on that, Diana. I'm usually on top of interruptions to the schedule, but this came out of nowhere. Previously they were only showing it on in the afternoon.

Wonderful recapping Jarifa. Your titles are just spectacular! I am glad that Julieta and Robert are talking again and that Julieta isn't so angry right now.

RGV Chick: I agree! Imelda is a hypocrite telling Polita not to divorce her son. Hey, as far as Polita is concerned, Audi has betrayed her too with another woman in his life. Guess she would approve of Polita faking Audi's death the way she did with Canuto.

I thought the "fight" between Axel and Iker was just silly.

Well no show tonight with soccer on instead.

Thank you for your recap, Jarifa, and the great title!

"If Imelda is dead set on Polita getting a divorce, Polita should run off Audi, get a fake death certificate for him, and put an empty coffin in a grave topped with a nice marker. Imelda shouldn’t have a problem with that!" 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I was thinking the same thing. I also like Diana's suggestion that the coffin NOT be empty.

Hermoso the dog looks like a close cousin to Happy the Hallmark Xmas movies dog, who really is a rescue. OMG I'm overdosing in those things. LOL

Linda/Iker/Axel = FFWD->

I'm warming up to the Cat/Tavo pairing.

Loved the sun hat Crisanta wore for her "vacay". LOL

Diana, you and RGV Chickie cracked me up re Audifaz:

"Polita...get a fake death certificate for him, and put an empty coffin in a grave topped with a nice marker". RgvChick: MUST it be empty?? :)I dunno, my charitable quotient is low today. Audi is a hot mess.

MUST it be empty?? Come on Diana, he's not that bad. Close, but not quite.

:-)

andy

Thanks for the info, Diana and Kat!

Thanks, Jarifa. My fave among many: Hermoso barks and barks messages of love between her and Gabriel. Those two are so not ready for parenthood, but thankfully have a family full of helpers.

Diana, I've missed being here. My dad has been quite sick, so it's been a lot to deal with. Thankfully, he's improving. ITA who cares about Axel and Iker. Ay, those Fuego en la Sangre hermanos skinnydipping, now that was choice beefcake!

FELS had awesome gratuitous shower and swimming hole scenes. And Adela Noriega has not made a telenovela since FELS. Apparently she has retired?

Count me in on the fake death certificate and coffin. I can go with the coffin either empty or full.

Hmmm. Too bad Fuego en la sangre was before my novela watching time.

Niecie, It was good to see you on the patio!

Niecie, I'm very sorry to hear about your father's illness but relieved that he is improving. You were very much missed here...

Ahh Eduardo Yanez. A pure ahhhh moment("choice beefcake" indeed :) While I'm glad a few here seem to appreciate Axel and Iker, truthfully, I am not one of them. Internal beauty is what really speaks to me and as far as Axel, I'm hearing silence.

Jarifa, the baking and swimming scenes were the most gratifying story in Fuego. I'm sorry you didn't see Diana Bracho though. One of the most truly evil mothers of all time. Her portrayal of Blanca is so different. Great actress.

doris, Fuego was the only thing I saw Adela in. I believe she was supposed to be in Pasion but backed out. The part went to Susana Gonzales who is my absolute favorite. Adela had such an angelic quality. I'm surprised she retired so young.

andy, Audi is pretty much pond scum at this point. He's almost destroyed his family, breaking his son's and wife's heart. I suspect he will be redeemed but have no idea how.

When I went to Dunkin early this morning for coffee, I was greeted with "Happy Wednesday". I was in sheer panic for a moment before I recovered. I politely suggested she might try some of her goods and we had a good laugh.

Happy FRIDAY all! :)

Diana

Diana, love your Dunkin Donuts story. Now that I'm no longer teaching, I worry that I'll forget what day it is. Evidently it happens to the younger folk also.

Niece, glad that you are back and sorry about your father's illness. Watching our loved ones weaken and struggle is so hard. When we were young, our parents seemed all powerful and indestructible and often we miss the first signs when they are no longer able to do all they used to. Sending you prayers and hugs as you go through this journey with him.

I think everybody, guys and gals, loved Adele Noriega. In Amor Real, she was really captivating, in spite of the fact that her role required her to cry most of the time. I have heard that she moved to the states and was also being treated for breast cancer, but don't know if that is so. Anyway, that was indeed her last role.

Judy, I cannot tell you how many times I have to look at the date during the course of a "normal" work day. Thank heavens for my computer screen which I have my nose buried in 99% of the day. And just becuase I know the date doesn't necessarily mean I know what day of the week it is :)

Your words of wisdom about aging parents were touching and true.

And in a day and age where (sadly) there is little privacy, it is rather astonishing that Adela has been able to keep her private life just that. I also heard she lived in the US but nothing more.

Diana

Cannot wait until tonight!

oT......Hello...I needed some patio love. My dear friend ,who has been battling lung cancer for three years, sent me an email last night. Cancer is now in her brain. Just got off the phone with AAA to let them know that I only need a single membership for just me...more ugly phone crying.

Niecie...so good to see you here. So sorry about your dad. Sending you my thoughts and prayers.

Everyone, thanks for the well wishes. I love this group.

Susanlynn, sending hugs. (((()))

Come on, Mi Marido bring on the laughs, more Pancho.

Wow, I had forgotten Blanca was the villain on Fuego. The actress sure has range

susanlynn, you are experiencing pain and loss that would hurt the braveest of hearts.

While it's hardest now, pray. Give thanks for your blessings and ask for comfort for your wounds, your loss of the love of your life. Take solace from your children and grandchildren. Take the patio's love and affection and be soothed. Pray for God's mercy for your friend and tell her you love her every day. May it be those words that echo as she nears her final days here on earth. May they buoy her in the next life, in heaven.

Love,

Diana

Susanlynn, I'm so sorry about your friend and that phone call to AAA must have been quite difficult. I echo what Diana said because I certainly couldn't have said it any better. Daily (((hugs))) and prayers go out to you.

Niecie, prayers going out to you and your father as well. Glad to hear he is improving; it must be a great relief for you.

Susanlynn - I can not imagine how #@$&%§! awful this day has been and I absolutely hate it for you. I'm sending you more love and (((Hugs)))

Niecie,Diana, Chickie...thanks for the good thoughts.
