Mi Marido Tiene Más Familia, Capítulo 65, Tuesday, December 11, 2018; Julieta plays the “blame game” or Susana and Pancho become Novios

We begin where we left off yesterday, with Audifáz receiving his much deserved slap in the face by Polita. [Yes he did beg for it!] She really stands up for herself this time and shuts him down. She tells him that even though they had nothing previously and were poor, at least they all had each other and they were a united family. But now, that is not the case since he has changed so much. Now, he is leading them to a ditch that they will never be able to climb out of. Audifáz  won’t back down though and says that Ari cannot return. Then he self-righteously walks away. Ari hugs his mother as she cries, apologizing and trying to comfort her.

Daniela and Gabriel settle on a cute little white dog together. They name him “Hermoso.” Then Dani makes a list of the dog chores and says that the dog cannot sleep with them. Gabe mentions having children in the future and she imagines herself holding a baby.

Julieta talks with the bank representative and she explains that she and her husband have had way too many bills. She explains all the bad stuff going on, having to pay lawyer for the custody battle and having their car stolen. [Don’t they have theft insurance in Mexico?] The bank rep says that none of that matters to the bank. They are going to have to go with a more extreme alternative. They are in danger of the banking taking their home and the only other alternative is for them to move out and rent out the house to someone else so that they can have the money to make the payments.

At Blanca and Eugenio’s place, Susana is there with them and Frida wants to know what makes “boobies” grow. She then asks Susana who then tells her to ask her grandmother. Susana then asks to speak with Eugenio privately. As she shows him her paperwork [I am assuming this is about the ownership of the building] Eugenio says he always wanted a sister, since they are only brothers. Susana says she always wanted a brother too, but it’s taking some time to get used to having three brothers. Then Eugenio says, “Why is it that we just can’t get along?” Susana says, “Because our mothers hate each other and our father hid his life from us. However, we still have time to change things for the better.” Eugenio says that there is nothing he would like more than to fulfil his father’s wish that all the Córsegas be a united family.

Robert gets to talk to David by phone. He wants to know how he feels about changing schools. David says he will miss Sebas and Lupita. Robert tells him how much he loves him and misses him and wants to be sure he will never forget him. Then Robert speaks with Fernando about the school change, but Fernando says that he is the one who has the last word.

After Susana leaves the Córsega apartment, she sees the little tree where her father’s ashes are. She “talks” to her father, but then Pancho playfully comes from behind and then asks her to dinner. Susana says she will go after the kids are asleep.

Ari tells Temo how horrible his parents fight was and how much worse his father has been. Temo tells him that it’s obvious he is suffering a lot and advises him to not play this game any longer.

Robert sets the table at home and puts a setting down for David. Then he realizes his error and gathers it up. Julieta comes in from work and Robert tells her that David called him. She seems hurt that David didn’t call her. He mentions that he talked to Fernando to ask him not to change schools on David. Then Julieta walks away from him and he tells her he doesn’t like her attitude. They start fighting again, she starts blaming him for everything that has gone wrong. He can’t do anything right. He tells her that he sacrificed everything for her and put his life on hold and his career on hold to take care of her needs. She yells at him and tells him that he cannot be the super hero and cannot solve everyone’s problems. Robert says he has tried and tried to fulfil everyone’s needs, her needs, the children’s needs, his work, but now he feels like he does not exist. Julieta keeps telling Robert what is wrong with him.  They are at a standstill, but Ari comes in, realizes that there are problems between Julieta and Robert and says he will go to the kitchen and find something to eat.

Later that night David is seen praying for his Corsega family. We see Julieta and Robert sleeping separately in non matching pajamas.

There is another flood at Catalina’s house. She decides not to call Julieta because Julieta has too many problems. Then she decides that she can call Tavo. [I didn’t know Tavo was a plumber too.]

Gabe and Dani go to bed, but the minute they start getting romantic, “Hermoso” jumps on the bed with them and they can't keep him out of their bedroom. "Hermoso" insistes on sleeping in the bed with them.

Audi complains to Aura about his life. Then he tells her that she has been his light. She moves from her chair sitting across him to then sitting next to him taking his hand.  As they look comfy together at the alter, Polita walks in and doesn’t look happy at all. “I thought you were coming here to read, Audifáz.” He and Aura get up and Aura looks a tiny bit embarrassed. [Well she should be.] She tells Polita not to misinterpret what is going on. Polita says she isn’t misinterpreting anything. Polita says, “It’s been months since Audifáz has gotten close to her to show affection, they way he was just doing with you. Look I’m not dumb. Audifáz has been escaping for months and getting away from our family. He is doing this because he wants to be with you.” Both Aura and Audi look down when Polita says this.

Polita goes on to say that Audi started out with good intentions, but has turned into an authoritarian husband and very critical. She accuses him of being unfaithful to the life they have created together. “You’re just not the man I fell in love with anymore.” Polita weeps and turns around to leave.

Eugenio is trying to warm up some milk for himself and turns on the gas for the stove. Then he leaves the kitchen (also leaving the matches on top of the stove) and goes to the bedroom. He and Blanca talk and she says something about wanting to light a candle in honor of family unity. In the background, the gas is still on. They continue to talk about the problems. Blanca decides to go to the kitchen for a few minutes, light a candle and then put it out. She looks for her robe, but she grabs a sweater.

Blanca comes out to the kitchen and is looking for the matches. She calls out to Eugenio and wants to know where the matches are. The gas is still on but Blanca does not know. Eugenio comes wheeling in and points to where the matches are on the stove. Next, Blanca picks up the matches and goes to light her candle, but then Eugenia finally notices that the gas is ON and stops her from lighting the candle and creating an explosion. Eugenio confesses that he must have left the gas on. Blanca says this is the reason she does not like natural gas, because it has no odor to it. They could have all died. [Gas companies in Mexico must not add the chemical mercaptan to give natural gas that distinctive odor we are used to here in the USA]  Blanca goes to open the windows and Eugenio apologizes. He says he has so many things in his head that he could not remember to turn off the gas. [Hmmm…sounds like this is headed toward Alzheimer’s and or dementia.]

Someone is knocking at the door and Blanca goes to answer. It’s Polita who is in tears.

Fernando puts David to bed that night and he tells David that he has decided to let him go to the same school. David is very happy about that.

Temo gazes at a photo of Ari on his phone. Lupita tells him everything will be alright. She tells him she felt badly because David did not show up at school. She asks where their father is, and they both wonder if he has a girlfriend.

Pancho arranges for a romantic dinner for him and Susana in a private room at the restaurant. He breaks open the champagne. She wants to know what they are celebrating. He says they are celebrating their love together. It’s a lovely dinner and Pancho is playing both her date and waiter. He also has actors come with signs that declare love. In the background we hear violin music. They eat and they toast their glasses. Then he presents her with “Do you want to be my girlfriend?” It’s written in fruits and vegetables. He explains that if they are happy, their kids will be happy. She accepts his proposal. They end with a romantic kiss.

Cynthia, thank you for another fine recap and your red letter comments :-)

Audifaz has become such a jerk I don't know how they are ever going to redeem him. And why is he taking so much of our time? Unpleasant plot line that doesn't add much of anything.

Jarifa, thanks for the information yesterday re why Gabriel and Dani are looking for a dog. I missed that part of the story, but it all makes more sense now. Sort of. If people actually acted rationally and intelligently, weighing all the pros and cons of having kids, the human race would have died out long ago.

OK, not really, but I don't think we wouldn't have an overpopulation problem either.   :-)

That bit with Eugenio leaving the gas on was scary. They need matches? No igniter or even a pilot light? And odorless natural gas? In 2018? Yeah, that's dangerous.

Right now it's mostly Susana and Pancho who are making the show watchable.

andy

Um, take your pick: "I think we would not have an overpopulation..." -OR- "I don't think we would have..."

Sorry, it's late :-)

Cynthia, there was little to love last night, but much to love in your recap.

This was grim. Very grim. But “[I didn’t know Tavo was a plumber too.]” had me smiling in spite of it all.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but this was the worst fight Julieta and Robert have had. Julieta’s palpable anger was not the first we’ve seen. But, Robert, hurt to the core was really difficult to watch. Everything he said is true. And while I’m not taking sides (Julieta is heartbroken over the loss of David), it is Julieta’s wearing her anger like a righteous badge of honor that is one of the main problems. Robert had no choice but to confront her as she’s blamed him for everything. They should be working together not continue to hurt and decimate each other.

“Aura looks a tiny bit embarrassed”. Yes, “as she should be”. “Then he tells her that she has been his light”. Please! She was definitely not rebuffing his inappropriate actions. And what’s most puzzling is why. Is it his wealth? Loving, supportive personality? The list is endless.

andy, too much Audi. IT. There are far more important things going on here.

I was on the edge of my seat while the stove burner was turned on. Eugenio! ITA, I don’t think this was a mere lapse in memory. This is a TN after all.

Did Dani and Gabe think their new family member was going to sleep in the hall peacefully without a stir? Obviously, neither has had a dog :)

Pancho and Susana were nice to watch but there is so much enotional turmoil, not even their sweet romance was enough last night.

Cynthia, this was wonderful. Thank you!

Diana

Yikes, I agree with Diana. Too much turmoil last night, but I always love your romantic screen shots and your red ink comments Cynthia. And started chuckling when I read that Gaby said the dog wouldn't sleep with them....riiiiiight. Anyone with a pet, dog or cat, finds out they are snugglers. Time for romance has to get creative, just as it does with children in the house.

Thanks as always for taking time out of your busy life to bring us these recaps Cynthia.

Cynthia: How long before Susana ends up PREGGERS ?

Cynthia, thank you so much for the excellent recap of a packed episode. I loved your commentary in red.I never knew that odorless natural gas would be in use anywhere. Another PSA on being careful when using gas. Alzheimer’s? Another type of dementia? could be but I hope not . . . But again this novela never saw an opportunity for a PSA it didn’t like and in spite of all of the elderly in the novela, nobody has had a dimentia disease yet. Yes, the paperwork was to show Susana’s ownership of a portion/apartment in the building.

Andy, yes, they are giving way too much time to Audifaz. Here is hoping for less tirades.

Yes, Diana, I think it was the worst fight for Julieta and Robert. Although the “Dave “ issue was the catalyst, there turned out to be more discord brewing below the surface with Robert and now it is out.

JudyB, yes, you cannot avoid those animal snugglers.

I actually enjoyed last night’s episode.

Aura is just too comfy with Audifaz. At this stage of the game, Polita should tell them both to just go for it and give them her blessing. Maybe she would get more money out of Audi if he had to pay child support.

The whole dog adventure with Hermoso was cute.

Hmmmm, Catalina uses Julieta’s problems as a reason to call Tavo . . . Loved it!

Pancho always makes me smile and his vegetable/fruit laden message of love after an unforgettably original dinner was the best.

Thank you, Cynthia.
Poor Julieta , poor Robert. Losing a child can be very hard on a couple's relationship. When our baby son died, I read that couples are sometimes torn apart by it. However, Hub and I became closer than ever after we finally worked through our separate reactions. I also read that men and women process loss differently. Men tend to deal with their grief and then close the door and move forward. Women tend to not let go completely and take that lost person along with them as they move on with their lives.

So true Susanlynn. We do "take that lost person along with them as they move on through their lives." Although I'm sure it's hard for some to understand, I still carry the child I miscarried along with me. To me, I have four children, but one is not living. I hope that I will see her in the next life.

Sorry but Juls is the problem. Everything has to go her way or the highway. She never realized Rob felt underachieved? She never realized he made many sacrifices due to her petulant demands? Just shows how selfish she is. And please, does anyone actually believe Juls would have chosen her kids over the job? No. She would have still chosen to work. She’s just brushing all of her problems off to Robert. Wasn’t he the one who warned her that adoption wasn’t easy last season?

Btw, the silent treatment is a form of emotional abuse. Juls uses it all the time. She needs a shrink. She’s unbelievably emotionally immature. Rob should walk.

"Women tend to not let go completely and take that lost person along with them as they move on with their lives". Very, very true suanlynn.

I am saying special prayers for you, Judy and those whom you both lost.

God bless.

Diana

"Women tend to not let go completely and take that lost person along with them as they move on with their lives." Nothing truer said, Susanlynn. My thoughts go out to both you and JudyB. I am sorry you had such tragedies in your lives.

Thank you for your recap, Cynthia. I especially liked your red letter editorial comments! Life has gotten in the way and I may not have a chance to watch my recording of this episode.

"Maybe she would get more money out of Audi if he had to pay child support. "
Ha! But then he would have to get a job. And keep it. Eh, no.

Gas stoves/cooktops . . . I am terrified of them, especially as we are aging. I've always had electric, and even the coil type can be fire hazard. When we got a new cooktop we bought the induction type. It is almost impossible to start a fire with those.

"Women tend to not let go completely and take that lost person along with them as they move on with their lives." So true, whether a child or any loved one. My mother once pointed out, decades ago, that every time she went in for a hospital procedure, even outpatient, she was always asked if she had ever lost a child. As an adult, I have had the same question asked when going in for any type (so far it has been outpatient) hospital procedure. It apparently makes a difference to medical providers.

I once heard our minister say (at a funeral I attended) that a parent never gets over the loss of a child; they just learn to cope.

Gah. I hit publish before I meant to.

I am sending (((Hugs))) to both Susanlynn and JudyB.

judyb...I had a miscarriage six months after our baby son died. So many women share this sad experience. I cannot remember who said it, but here is one of my favorite quotes . …."Life is an accumulation of love and loss."

So true Susanlynn. And because of that we need to really treasure the love that we have been given. Much better than what I often hear people my age say which is "Life is a series of losses." I will counter with your saying now, my wise friend.

It's getting late, but... Diana, I agree completely that last night was "This was grim. Very grim." Too much so for a TN that's supposed to be fun.

Susanlynn, it's good to see you here. I have made note of "Life is an accumulation of love and loss." So true.

Many great comments here but time is running short, so I'll just leave it at that. Busy day here and more to come.

andy

Thanks, Cynthia. Great title and recap. I couldn't take Julieta blaming Robert, so I tuned out. But I'm glad to get the deets from you.

Anyone can see Robert is hurting as much as Julieta is, so why why why play the blame game, Julieta?

Niecie!!

So glad to see your post. I've been asking where you were...

Welcome back, Diana

Thanks everyone for your comments! I too am very tired of seeing Audifaz play so high and mighty. He criticizes and hates gays, yet he is committing adultery in his heart. He has absolutely nothing to offer. AS Polita said, they were poor because Audi didn't have a job, but at least they had each other and their love. Now he has distanced himself from her and at odds with his son. She said it's been months since Audi has been affectionate toward her. Someone needs to put him in his place.

I feel sorry for Robert. He doesn't deserve that treatment from Julieta. It is NOT his fault that things turned out they way they did.

I like to focus on the story with Pancho and Susana. That's what is most interesting to me right now. I'm tuned out with the Linda/Iker/Axel stuff.

AS for Eugenio, the reason I said that he might have dementia or Alzheimers because one of the things that people with that condition do many times is leave the stove on. I remember my great aunt forgot she turned the stove on and their house caught on fire. Her daughter then put them in assisted living after that. My other aunt lived with my cousin and he had to take off all the stove knobs when she was around because she would turn on the stove and leave it turned on. I am surprised that Mexico does not add this chemical to the natural gas. I need to look this up and find out if is true.

Susanna says she’ll wait till the kids go sleep before she leaves for date! How old are they. These kids..basta!.
