FALSA IDENTIDAD – LUNES – Parte 1 de 2

Friday Jota Jota tells Diego and Circe they have to cross with some drugs once more or can’t ever leave this way of life behind. Mateo tries to get Saint Porfirio to turn on Isa, talking about the dead Guevara auntie, but it doesn’t work. Nuria goes after Ramona, tearing out her extensions and hitting her. Circe tells Felipa that, if she can’t share happiness with her, then she doesn’t want her around. For no reason that I can see, Diana and Gabriela are taken to the police station for just being on the same street as the gas sales.

Lourdes calls again and this time identifies herself to Mateo. She at least lies to him, telling him she’s in the same hell he put her in. She says she’s going to escape and get even. So, after this colossally stupid move, she then tells her mother they have to leave. Mateo wants to call someone…Piochas? But the docs say he has to go into surgery at exactly the same time as his son

In Porfi’s room we see some possible foreshadowing. He tells Isa that, if things go wrong and he doesn’t survive the surgery, she should find Diego.

In the corridor, on gurneys, Mateo and Porfirio talk. When Porfi asks if his father is scared, Mateo replies: Si fuera por algo venimos en esta tierra es pa’ morirnos. (If there’s any reason we’re here, it’s to die. – a very fatalistic and very Mexican point of view.) Porfi doesn’t want to die without having accomplished anything in life. Mateo says he’ll tell him something he never said before – that his son is a better man than he is and in every way. If he, Mateo, dies, no one should care.

Isa is told the operation should take 12 hours, 8 of actual surgery, and 4 for recovery.

The crooked cop gets in the car with Circe. He makes her laugh telling her how Acevedo caved at once fearing he’d be killed. The cop says they’ll let him go after a while and let him cross the border back to the US.

Diego comes to the police to try to help Gaby and Diana. Salas is trying to pull some levers to get Gabriela released, but it doesn’t look good.

Erick pounds on Nuria’s door. At first she doesn’t answer, but opens the door a bit. He tells her that Ramona meant nothing to him. He wants to have children with Nuria. She goes on to name all the women he had paid sex with at the gym. And she tells him he’s a prostitute.

Gavino has a visitor. It’s Circe again. But before he goes out there the guard calls him patrón and apologizes for having to put las esposas on him. [I get a big kick out of the Spanish for handcuffs.]

Circe tells Gavino that, when she paid big bucks to get in to see him, she found out that he’s paying a ton of money to get out of prison. Circe: Me saca mucho de onda porque según tú, tú no tienes con que caerte muerto. (This annoyed me a lot because, according to you, you didn’t have a dime to your name.)

Sergio Goyri has a fabulous evil laugh. We get to see it as he tells his daughter he knows she thought he was finished. He tells her that he sees now that she’s scared because she knows that the only reason he wants so badly to get out of prison is to get her.

Diego is talking to Gabriela. Like always in TN’s the visitors walk right up to the cell bars and talk with the one inside. Diego promises Gaby he’ll get her out. She tells him she was an idiot to give in to Diana and take her to where Chucho and Deivid were.

FALSA IDENTIDAD – LUNES – Parte 2 de 2

Diana calls Marlene to come get her.

Isa reassures the kids all will be well. The doctors have told her there’s no point in her staying the whole time. Fernanda comes to let Isa know that she won’t help her with the location of the Guevara bodies and put Diego at risk.

Circe tells Gavino that he disgusts her because he’s putting the blame for everything on Joselito and she also despises him for helping Augusto, the #1 traitor. He calls her the queen of traitors. He goes on to say that this trick of putting the blame for your crimes on someone else he learned from her. Because she was the one who killed Eliseo. She tells him that, when he gets out, she’ll be far, far away.

Gavino sneers at her and says that Diego doesn’t know she killed his brother. Or is she going with Felipa? He tells her that Felipa killed her mother because she was in the way. When Circe insists that her mother died of cancer, he tells her that when he and Felipa were young, tenían queveres. (Could not find an exact definition; I’m going with fooled around.) But he didn’t want a relationship with Felipa.

Gavino tells Circe that Diego and Felipa are like reflections of herself in a mirror. They aren’t real, and she’ll never be happy with either one of them.

At la delegación Marlene insults Diego and he hollers back. She then takes Diana – the little princess – away.

Circe remembers scenes in her past with Felipa. But she starts burning photos of her. [Yes, Felipa killed her mother; but it was because the woman begged her to do it because of the pain from her cancer.]

Has there ever been a telenovela surgery without a big problem in the middle of it, complete with flashing numbers on a monitor? I can’t tell if this is a red herring or if Porfi has really shuffled off this mortal coil. But Isa gets a call to come to the hospital.

Erick rushes into Ramona’s office and throws wads of money on her desk. He says he never wants to see her again. She screwed up his relationship with Nuria. He tells her she means nothing to him. Ramona really grovels. He goes on to say that sleeping with her or with the other women is like pouring drinks at the bar – work.

Ramona finally gets angry and says she’ll throw both he and Nuria out of Babel. He tells her that they’ll see what Jim says about that.

Diana comes for her clothes; and, speaking of groveling, Chucho does a lot of it. Marlene tells him he’s a huachicolero in a pretty nasty way. Chucho looks at Diana, surprised she told her sister. She packs her stuff, and tells him he’s a big disappointment, etc. I’m rooting for the sister from Venezuela.

Lourdes spies on Piochas, who’s escorting yet another hooker into Mateo’s house.

The doctor tells Isa that there were problems. Both doctor and nurse look very sad. But I’ve bit on these red herrings before, so I won’t be sure Porfi has died until tomorrow.

Another great recap, novelera. Many thanks! You've covered just about everything important, and your discussion cleared up some things for me.

I loved your snarky observation about Lourdes: "So, after this colossally stupid move, she then tells her mother they have to leave." I too was scratching my head over her frantic statement to her mother.

I think the crooked cop tells Circe that he (the cop) promised Acevedo that in a month, they'd let him go. I guess that was so that Acevedo would just accept the blame for Margot Guevara's death until things blow over. Circe doesn't care whether he spends lots of time in jail. She just wants it to seem as if they've caught the killer and won't go looking for any other suspects. I think she expects that in a month, she and Diego will be far, far away.

I'm glad you called attention to the Spanish word for handcuffs, esposas. I recall being simultaneously stunned and very amused when I first learned that.

Although it seems too soon for Porfirio to die, I definitely did have the impression that he died. The doctor at one point looks at the numbers on the screen and then I think he removes Porfirio's oxygen mask, as if nothing more can be done. But like you, I nonetheless have the feeling that Telemundo is playing with us.

Yes, Diana is becoming a bit too self-righteous for me. I too am thinking of joining team Venezuelan Sister.

Identidad

thanks so much novelera !!!

I'm having trouble with this story as nothing good ever happens.

in the engish caps I think Mateos told Porfi, he never recovered from what he did to his wife, (probably thought about it every time he went to the bathroom)

and Marlene is hanging on to anything that will drive away her loneliness, (and I keep expecting her to run into Disgusto in the apartment.)

and my Taro cards say...

identidad

I'd like to add that what really turned me off Diana was her apparent indifference to his pleading, saying that he'd lost his job (thanks to Diego)and had family he was supporting with the money from stealing gas. True, he's doing something illegal, but he's using the money to help his family and is attending school. He's not driving around in a fancy car and sporting gold chains!

Thanks, Juanita and novelera. I'm all caught up and anxious to see last night's episode. It makes so much more sense, truly, to have this "cheat sheet" ahead of time.

novelera: about your puzzlement--"...he tells her that when he and Felipa were young, tenían queveres. (Could not find an exact definition; I’m going with fooled around.)" You got the gist of it alright, but it's "tenian que ver" using the verb ver. It means they had "an understanding," in other words...fooled around.

identidad

Anita, I had the Spanish captions on, and it clearly said queveres. I wanted to get a definition, but what I got from Google was a whole bunch of articles in Spanish about celebrities who were having queveres, written as one word. Because it was late, I didn't read all the articles to see if they meant extramarital affairs, mild flirtations, or what. So I went with "fooled around". I'm sure you're right that this neologism started with que ver.

Falsa ID
novelera--that's a new one for me. I should never have questioned your resources! It's entirely probable I've been stuck in a 1980s time-warp. Things change so fast these days, including language. I had to ask my grandson what they mean by "drop the mike" and "optics."

identidad

I'll do a recap of tonight's episode. As always, it will be posted quite late.

Also, I might mention that a while ago I came upon a discussion on WordReference.com that mentions "queveres," but the word wasn't in the title, so it won't be easy to find again.

Falsa Identidad - Capítulo 63 - Parte 1 de 3

The doctor tells Isabel that Porfirio's surgery was successful in spite of some complications. Isabel calls Zoraida to tell her that all went well. She asks Zoraida to tell the children that their father is out of danger. Isabel then goes off to work at Babel.

Diana and Marlene leave Chucho. They call him a criminal and a thief. Gabriela's sister (Mara?) witnesses this.

Deivid feels guilty about Gabi's being arrested. "All was well until I made her my novia, and now look what happened." Diego assures him what happened is not his fault. Salas reports that he could do nothing to help except to keep Gabi from being deported right away. He gained a little time.

Marlene doesn't want to leave Diana alone. She asks Diana whether she wants to come with her to Babel. Diana says she needs to be alone. Marlene tells her "this won't be the only time you'll be in love."

Paloma sees Nuria take a pill. She asks her not to swallow it, but Nuria does so and starts crying. She tells Paloma about Erick's being a prostitute. She also feels bad about her mother, and the difficult life her mother has. (And how do the pills help this?)

Diego tells Chucho he (Chucho) is no longer in the gasoline stealing business. Diego claims it's for Chucho's own good. This way, he can get his girlfriend back and lead an honest, honorable life.

Chucho calls Diana to tell her he's no longer involved in the gasoline stealing business. He asks her to give him a second chance. Diana tells him she doesn't believe in him, and she tells him not to keep looking for her.

Circe calls Ramona, who is getting drunk and remembering Erick's telling her she's ridiculous and not important to him. Circe asks Ramona whether Gavino and Felipa ever had a thing going. Ramona says yes, her sister told her so.

Gavino calls Augusto. Augusto keeps saying that Gavino has to keep his promise. Everyone is after him. (Does anyone remember what promise Gavino made or when?) Gavino says that Augusto is the one who failed to keep his promise--he was a traitor both before and after. Still, Gavino says he will forgive him, and they wipe the slate clearn and have a fresh start (borron y cuenta nueva). However, if Augusto ever betrays him again....

The dancers at Babel put on a show with just four dancers. Nuria, clearly high on something, kisses some guy in the audience. Erick, tending bar, becomes furious and goes after the guy. Nuria then announces to all the men in the audience that as of today, she'll be giving private dances. Jim restrains Erick and the other dancers take Nuria backstage. In Jim's office, Jim tells Erick he really should fire him. Erick protests that this other guy put his hands on Nuria. Jim points out that in fact Nuria threw herself at the other guy. Erick comes to his senses and says that he feels very much the way Nuria felt when he told her what he had done with Ramona and the others.

Paloma is upset about whatever Nuria was taking and tells her they should go to the hospital. Nuria claims that they need to dance. Paloma insists that Nuria see a doctor. As they're going out the door, Nuria says something about having a rapid heartbeat (Tengo taquicardia).

Diego tries to persuade Deivid to help him with the huge drug transport across the border. Deivid again tells him that it can't be done. Diego argues that it can be done. He wants to cut Circe out of the operation and just have Deivid and him. He tells Deivid that it will be an historic crossing, though he doesn't yet have all the details worked out. (Oops.) Friendship apparently wins out over common sense: Deivid agrees to be part of Diego's historic non-plan.

Falsa Identidad - Capítulo 63 - Parte 2 de 3

Chucho packs his things and leaves with his suitcase. Gabi's sister (Mara, I think) sees him leave and speaks with him. She mentions that Gabi had talked about him quite a bit and he's very much as she expected: quite formal, very nice, a good person. Chucho replies that he doesn't know who he is. He hopes that perhaps in going back to his pueblo he can find what he lost when he came to the capital.

Augusto is about to be released from the hospital. The doctor tells him that life has given him a second chance. When the doctor asks whether there's anyone Augusto would like him to contact, Augusto says that since he has a second chance, he wants to stay away from the bad company he used to keep. (Yeah, right.) The doctor adds that the lawyer (Gavino's lawyer) who asked to speak with Augusto when he gave the inteview has paid all of Augusto's hospital bills.

Diego knocks at Chucho's door but gets no answer. He then sees a note on the door. It says, "I've gone back to my pueblo. Thanks for everything. Chucho." Diego tries calling Chucho, but Chucho, getting on the bus to leave, decides not to answer Diego's call. Diego leaves a message saying that he thinks Chucho is doing the right thing, and that he wants Chucho to know that he has a pal for whatever he needs.

Diana and Marlene are at Marlene's house. They're joking around and being happy, so of course there's a loud knock at the door and it's not Publishers Clearing House. Marlene goes to see who's there. It's Augusto, who proceeds to start strangling her. Diana comes to see what's happening. She tries to free Marlene, but then Augusto grabs Diana instead. He tells Marlene, "You took my money, you took my house, if you don't give it all back, I'm going to take your sister from you." Marlene calls the police. Diana finally succeeds in biting Augusto's hand and breaks free. Augusto threatens that this isn't over, and he leaves. Marlene then calls Jim and tells him what happened. Jim offers to come over. Marlene is pleased.

Felipa and Ramona growl at each other. Then Circe enters and angrily asks Felipa, "What did you have to do with the death of my mother?" She slaps Felipa and then holds a gun to her head. Circe accuses Felipa of killing her mother because she wanted to be with Gavino. Ramona is stunned. "Who said that?" she asks Circe. Gavino, Circe replies. Felipa is slow to defend herself. She keeps emphasizing how much she loves Circe, how she regards her as her daughter. Felipa then talks about what a wonderful woman Circe's mother was. "She was the ony one who was decent with me. I loved her. She was a saint." Circe asks again, did you kill her? Felipa says, "I only did what she asked. She was in pain, and she asked me to help her die." Ramona, furious that Felipa killed her sister, grabs Felipa and holds a knife to her throat. "Either you kill her or I will," she tells Circe. Circe demands that Ramona let Felipa go. After a standoff, she does. Circe tells Felipa to leave. Felipa is devastated. She tells Circe, "You're the only thing I have in my life." Finally she leaves, saying "I hope one day you'll know that the love I have for you is not a lie."

Apparently Paloma and Nuria did go to the hospital and did see a doctor. The doctor told Nuria that what she was taking, methamphetamines, is a dangerous drug. Paloma tells Nuria that she has a serious addiction. Nuria is surprised that what she was taking to help her lose weight is so powerful and dangerous. Ramona had said just the opposite. Paloma offers to help her battle her addiction. Nuria was there for Paloma when she needed her, and she will be there for Nuria.

Falsa Identidad - Capítulo 63 - Parte 3 de 3

Porfirio complains of being in pain. The doctor tells him that what he's experiencing is normal. The doctor tells Isabel that there's a six-month period during which Porfirio needs to be checked carefully to be sure he doesn't reject the donated liver.

Mateo is also in bed at the hospital, and also uncomfortable, though his complaint is more that he's very thirsty. For some reason, he can't yet have even water. He also wants to make a phone call, but apparently the hospital rules forbid this. However, the nurse may bend the rules a bit to give him a bit of water to wet his lips.

Lourdes tries to leave her house. Her mother stops her, asks where she's going, and offers to go with her. Lourdes tells her she wants to go alone. The mother finally says that if she wants to go, she should tell her mother who kidnapped her and took her away from Alamos. We see no sign that Lourdes has yielded to her mother's request.

The last scene in the episode shows Gabriela in handcuffs being escorted by two policemen to a car. Just where they're taking her isn't clear. Diego and Deivid are present, as is Gabi's sister. Deivid tries to prevent the police from taking her away. Diego has to hold him back before he assaults a policeman and winds up in jail. On this sad scene, the episode ends.

Identidad

wow, thanks so much Juanita, that was a great recap!

I'm beginning to see some light in all this darkness, I believe Diego's plan not only includes crossing the border with a ton of merc, of historic and legendary proportions, but then tipping the DEA and taking out the Colombians, (wow, can he pull this off) and he is leaving Circe out of the deal to protect her, that's why he needs Deivid's help.

Gavino never misses a beat in reading and controlling those around him, he sure took down Felipa without lifting a finger.

I think the nurse indicated that the liver transplant is harder on the donor.

Falsa ID
Juanita--Thanking you in advance of watching the episode. I'm disappointed they fed us that tantalizing little bit on Porfirio's condition at the end of the night before. I really could care less if he makes it or not. If he was destined to make it, they could have chosen some other scene to be the ending. Glad Mateo is in pain. What on earth is Lourdes planning to do...have fried liver and onions for dinner, thanks to Mateo?

Deb--Great speculation. I'll go with that. But Diego runs the risk of getting caught himself.

When do we get to see Joselito again. Ashamed to say I miss him.

identidad

Many thanks, deb and Anita, for your interesting comments.

deb, thanks VERY much for clarifying what Diego has in mind for his "historic" mission. One thing that bothers me about this is that his cutting out Circe is meant to protect her. Protect her from whom? So he'd prefer to sacrifice his best bud, Deivid? Whew, if that's really the case, I've just left team Diego.

Anita, I almost commented in my recap about the apparently deceptive preview at the end of the previous night's episode. I too was expecting Porfirio to start failing big time, but the doctors are saying that all is well. Of course, THAT may be how they're playing with us. OTOH, perhaps we can no longer assume that Porfirio will die. Given what a jerk Diego is part of the time (not to mention his preferring to endanger Deivid than Circe), it now seems quite possible that Diego will not make it and will die in some perhaps honorable, perhaps not, way, leaving Isa, Amanda, Ricas, and Porfi to end up happily together.

I gotta say, I'm getting increasingly impatient with this novela. Last night I tried to understand what was being said in sentences where most of the words were bleeped. "La ----- de la -----! Ay, --------- el ---- -------." (No, the number of dashes are all made up in my example, but I think you can see how frustrating it is.) If only I could tolerate dubbed programs, I'd jump ship to La Sultana. But I HATE HATE HATE it when the words I hear don't match the way people's lips move.
---- Telemundo!! (and yes, the number of dashes there is deliberate)

Identidad

Terrific recap, Juanita. Loved: It’s not Publishers Clearing House!

I was SO frustrated with Marlene. In a lot of ways she’s such a dumb bunny. Don’t they have any locksmiths in DF? That is the FIRST thing I would have done – change the locks. I also think a piece of her eagerness to put paid to Diana’s relationship with Chucho was her inability to be alone. When she still thought Augusto was her life companion, she didn’t hesitate to tell Diana to leave if she wouldn’t agree about Augusto being such a great guy. Now she has to have someone there with her.

Yes, deb has it right. Diego’s plan is to cross with the drugs and then have the DEA seize them. Not sure how this stops Jota Jota. Can’t he just visit some of those coca farms in Colombia and come up with more drugs and find another way to get them across?

Well, Corona padre e hijo are not exactly stoic about pain, are they?

Felipa appeared not to blame Circe all that much for having turned on her. I have expected all along that she’d be the one to tell Diego who killed his brother.

What I remember is Gavino’s lawyer, and presumably Gavino himself, having promised protection – bodyguards or some such so neither Circe nor Joselito can get their hands on him. This was in exchange for Augusto making that video about Gavino's supposed innocence.

Insofar as Nuria. Pfft! I’m so over her. I guess it’s a PSA about not using drugs and/or loving your body no matter its size. But she just annoys me. I wasn’t even sorry when she found out about Erick. I never could figure out what he saw in her anyway.

When Nuria planted a big, hot kiss on someone in the crowd, I thought it was a patron. But later Jim accused Erick of fighting with another employee, so I think the guy may have been a waiter or guard or something like that.

I was kind of surprised that neither Circe nor Ramona could believe that Felipa was asked to help Circe’s mother out of her terrible pain. And where was Ramona when her sister was going through all this?

Identidad

thanks Juanita!

in Diego protecting Circe, I may have read too much into that, I think he just said he was cutting her out, but the plan involves tipping the DEA without giving himself away and taking out Ibarra's operation.

"La Sultana" is really cooking, I'm loving it!

identidad

Juanita, we posted at almost the same time. You are right about the slang and bleeping being very annoying. Fernanda is about the only person on the show who speaks "the King's Spanish", if you will. I've had Spanish subtitles on for this whole novela because the speech is not the clear, well enunciated Spanish one hears when watching a non-narco novela. Say, one of the ones that features rich people stabbing each other in the back (figuratively).

La Sultana

Last night's recap is up.

Identidad

Thanks, Juanita. My fave: Friendship apparently wins out over common sense: Deivid agrees to be part of Diego's historic non-plan.

Ay, I really like Deivid and Gabi now. Diego better not screw things up even worse for them.

August choking one sister and then the other was too much. Come on, ladies. Find a frying pan and bash him on the head already.

Glad Chucho took off to think. Maybe Diana will realize how much she misses him. Marlene, you've been hooked up with the same married man for more than a decade, so what are your quals to give love advice to Diana? Chucho is no Augusto.

identidad

Thanks very much, novelera and Niecie, for your appreciative comments. I confess that I too liked the statements you cited.

novelera, good question about why Marlene didn't think to change the locks. Then again, that's only one of a dozen things I wonder about her choices and non-choices. And I loved your question "And where was Ramona when her sister was going through all this?"

Niecie, I definitely agree with your suggestion about the frying pan. I think Diana's biting Augusto was a step in the right direction.

Identidad

hmm,

looks like Nuria is hooked on the meth, ignoring Paloma.

Marlene keeps cuddling up to her friend Jim.

Disgusto leaves town with the lawyer, he says something about his new court testimony will reveal something new about Eliseo's death, didn't catch what he said.

Amanda agrees to be Edgar's novia.

Mateos gets his phone call, threatens Lourdes, who has revealed to her mother it was him after hearing that he visited their house, they pack and leave.

JJ likes Diego's plan, they load the RV.

Fer quits her job and plans to open her own place with Zoraida.

Felipa bugs out on her voodoo, how long has that eye been drawn on her eyepatch?

Circe bribes the judge to keep Gavino in jail, Gavino saw it coming and splits the money with him, using his cut to plan a surprise for Circe, on the level of her set-up of him putting him in jail.

Diego stops by to say good bye to mom, one last time, he's ready to roll.

identidad

Thanks, deb, for the mini-cap. Lots happened last night. I also noticed the eye patch with an eye on it. Was that a fire wherever Felipa was doing her incantations? She better hope she doesn't burn the place down. As always, I hate brujería in novelas. I find it ridiculous.

I got the impression that Augusto was planning to add to his supportive testimony for Gavino that Eliseo had hidden the fact that Diego did not die along with the rest of his team at his house and that he had assumed a false identity. He signed something Salas prepared as part of the deal wherein Fernanda let him keep the money he'd stolen from her. But he no longer has that money so I guess he's ready to get even with Diego.

I really enjoyed the "last straw" scene with Fernanda where she tells off the obnoxious boss and most of the rest of his staff follow her out.

Wow, Gavino is one step ahead of his daughter, isn't he?

identidad

Thanks very much, deb. I too was putting together some stuff that happened. Rather than go through my list to remove duplicates with yours, I'll just post it as is. Also, see announcement at end.

Porfirio, lying in his hospital bed, is concerned about his work. Isabel tells him he should focus on getting well, and not worry about work.

Circe asks Ramona whether Ramona's sister suffered a lot. Ramona says yes, and admits that because she couldn't stand seeing her sister suffer, she rarely visited her.

After visiting Porfirio, Isabel goes to Mateo's hospital room. Mateo complains about the pain and about not being able to make a phone call. Isabel touches him not so gently where the incision is (reminiscent of Diego's treatment of Augusto, but not prolonged).

Lourdes finally tells her mother that Mateo was not a compassionate policeman but rather the person who deceived and kidnapped her. The mother wants to report him to the police! Lourdes points out how futile that would be and says she needs proof of what he did, she needs others who experienced the same thing to testify.

Marlene describes to Fernanda what Augusto did to her and Diana and warns her that he's probably out for vengeance against Fernanda as well.

In a great scene, Fernanda criticizes her nasty boss at the restaurant for never praising her for any of the good things she has done. She then hands in her apron and quits. Inspired by her action, the other employees do likewise.

The doctor makes an exception to the "no phone" rule and lets Mateo make one short call. Mateo calls Lourdes and tells her she'd better keep her mouth shut. He knows where she and her parents live.

Paloma tries to get Nuria to throw out the rest of the pills she got from Ramona. Nuria goes into the bathroom, supposedly to toss them in the toilet, but she hides them in her in what she's wearing, flushes the toilet, leaves the bathroom and show Paloma the empty plastic bag that had held the pills. Paloma praises her for getting rid of them. [I don't see a long future for Nuria.]

In a car with Gavino's lawyer, Augusto says he plans a surprise at the hearing. He plans to say that Eliseo made it seem as if his brother was dead, cheated people, and told lies.

Fernanda looks at sites for a new business she wants to start.

Fearing Mateo, Lourdes and her family flee from their house.

Nuria buys more drugs from some guy.

THREE MONTHS LATER....

Porfirio and Mateo are both staying with Isabel. Isabel tells Porfi she's not comfortable having Mateo in the house. Porfi points out that Mateo saved his life.

Diego shows JJ the large RV that he plans to use to transport the huge drug shipment across the border. JJ tells him that if he succeeds, he'll be a legend.

Marlene and Diana both think Jim is muy guapo.

Diego comes to see Fernanda. He tells her he's very proud of her, starting a new life. He too is starting a new life, he tells her, and this will probbly be the last time they see each other. Fernanda is stunned.

Gavino says he's going to deal with Circe the way she dealt with him.

THERE WILL APPARENTLY BE A TWO-HOUR EPISODE OF FALSA IDENTIDAD THIS COMING MONDAY!

novelera, you and I posted at just about the same time. I see we both enjoyed the scene where Fernanda tells off her boss and quits. And I too thought Felipa's brujeria was just silly.

I just checked with Zap2It, and yes, there will be a 2-hour episode of Falsa Identidad this coming Monday. It will run from 9 to 11 PM.

Egads! Two-hours on Monday. What did I ever do to deserve that?

Sorry I'm so late to the party. Deb, Juanita, thanks for the review of the highlights and the lowlights. I actually watched before reading today. There's not much to say otherwise.

I think Diego is a total idiot to think he and Deivid by themselves can outsmart JJ and his organization. Is he planning to melt into the numbers of undocumented residents in the U.S. and not worry about JJ and his posse coming after him? Oh, wait a minute--doesn't JJ know Diego as Emiliano, or has Circe, Felipa or Ramona spilled the beans. If not, he can ditch the Emiliano and buy himself some more false papers somewhere. I'm not saying he SHOULD, just that he might.

Animo, novelera. You can do it. Except that I would suck at the conversations, not using captions, I'd volunteer for the 2d hour. I will, if you are really stuck.

Juanita--It's too bad you have such an aversion to dubbed material. Under almost all circumstances, I do, too. La Sultana is different. I wouldn't understand the Turkish anyway and so I pretend the sound track isn't quite in sync with the lips. It's probably a little too late to jump in, but you've missed a wonderful chance to enjoy a production made a world and an age away. The costumes, by the way are out of this world. However the names are confusing--and there are too many sultanas and they all kind of look alike!

Anita, I think JJ knows Diego by three names, sometimes voicing them all: Emiliano, Romeito, and Diego. IIRC Isabel, shocked by seeing JJ in the hallway of her home when he first "dropped by", called Diego by his real name.

La Sultana
There are only four Sultanas and they aren't that difficult to tell apart.

Sultana
Toung in cheek, but even 4 are too many when each has her own retinue.

Identidad

Thanks, Deb and Juanita. A lot happened last night.

Paloma will have a cow if Marlena and Jim get together. Por eso, I like it.

Fer and Zoraida in business together, love it.

Diego telling his mom this is probably the last time they'll see each other, just stupid.
