Here are the current evening telenovelas (all times are Eastern Standard Time):

¡Feliz Navidad! ¡Felices Fiestas!
Thanks, Juanita, for the heads up! There will be no telenovelas shown December 24 or 25, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. The schedule will resume December 26.
Everyone is welcome to join in the conversation. Since discussions of all the Telemundo novelas share the same page, please remember to put the name of the telenovela you're referring to at the top of your post so readers can easily find the conversation they're looking for.
By common agreement, this group DOES NOT discuss previews, trailers, or any other plot information not found in a current or past episode of the current production. Spoilers WILL be removed by the admin. This includes references to earlier productions of the story, and even the original novel. Thanks for your cooperation!

Anita, I want to second the message novelera posted shortly before Telemundo y Más changed to page 2. Since you and others may not have had a chance to see it, I'll quote it here: "Anita, perhaps there is an uplifting thought for Christmas Eve: Caray, Caray, will live on - a very nice Christmas gift to us all."
Many thanks, Anita, to you and the other members of the Caray blog team who worked together to save this wonderful site.
Thanks, Juanita and novelera. It was definitely a team effort, not one I could have undertaken alone. My contribution was my name and a little housekeeping behind the scenes. We are still on a learning curve. I'm glad I can be a part of keeping Caray up and running AND familiar to all of us telenovela lovers out there.
Steve, lucky you--nice weather I assume.
Halimacandy, according to Zap2It, Caso Cerrado will be shown at its usual 7 pm time except for Dec. 31 (New Year's Eve), when all the novelas will be preempted by Latin American Music Awards 2018. The current Zap2It listings go only up through January 7. If at some point Exatlón returns later in January, I imagine Caso Cerrado will disappear again. Frankly, as bizarre as Caso Cerrado is at times, I'd prefer it to Exatlón, but apparently Telemundo thinks differently.
Friday
- Diego and Circe talk. She tells him someone betrayed them. We see him later speaking on the phone with Frank, the US contact. He offers to turn in Circe to the Feds.
- We again see the Keystone Kops pursue Mateo.
- Some immigration lawyer tells Deivid that the way to help Gaby is to marry her.
- Diego tells the corrupt cop who forced Acevedo to confess that he’s a business partner of Circe.
- Mateo calls Ramona from the car in which he’s fleeing with Piochas. He tells her to run from his house.
Mateo tells Ramona to get going, but first he wants her to find and bring with her the photos of Porfirio as a child.
Diego is in a car talking with Acevedo. He gives him the usual manila envelope with lots of cash. He tells him to hightail it wherever, maybe the beach, but to not breathe a word about Emiliano Guevara.
Joselito has come to see Felipa. These two old enemies talk. She’s trying to enlist him to help Circe. He tells her not to kid herself. Circe uses people like toilet paper and throws them away. Felipa: “Ok. But then why did you jump like una liebre (a hare) right to my side.” She tells him he still has hopes of getting with Circe.
Jim talks with Nuria. He tells her she’s important to him as a person and as a dancer, but he won’t have her back to work until she goes to rehab. She vehemently denies being an addict. And, like a complete idiot, tells him about things she’s seen on the internet about it being OK to use amphetamines.
Nuria’s mother is at the club also and attacks Erick.
Felipa says that she and Joselito must kill Gavino. He grins and tells her that he’s read HER cards. He thinks she wants for him to clear the way for Circe to escape with Diego. Felipa scoffs at this, saying that her cards say that Diego is not Circe’s destiny. He pooh poohs her fortune telling, but she replies that the cards have told her that Diego will betray Circe and that he is the only one who can save her.
We are treated to a ridiculous scene involving Nuria, her mother, Jim, and Erick, all screaming at the same time. Nuria’s mother tells Jim her daughter is quitting!
Marlene apologizes to Diana for having exposed her to pond scum like Disgusto.
Amanda again starts a hissy fit when hearing that Isa is going somewhere with Diego. Isa explains that it’s to bury the Guevaras. Porfi tells the kids that he and Isa aren’t going to be a couple any more, just friends. This sends Amanda off in a huff.
Salas and Diego talk. Diego says he has a strong desire to kill Circe. But he’s going to turn her in instead. Salas asks about what he plans to do. Diego tells him that the Colombians think he’s going to return the drugs the DEA seized. He is going to set something up with Frank (who Salas, of course, knows) to have the US intercede and grab up Circe and the Colombians. They’ll be locked up for life.
Diego wants a favor from Salas. After he’s turned over Circe, he wants Salas and Fernanda to get together all the evidence they have against Augusto and Gavino and to give it to the press. Diego tells Salas that Gavino thinks he’s going to use him to get even with Circe. But Diego plans to get even with them both.
Gavino sees the news about Augusto on TV. Piochas brings in Mateo, who is very worried. He says the cops are on his heels, and he’s desperate. Gavino assures him he’s now part of the Gaona family.
The kidnapped girls find out that Mateo escaped.
Edgar tries to reason with Amanda. But she only wants things her way: her parents in a “normal” family. She comes home being disrespectful to both her parents.
Nuria refuses to admit to her mother that she’s an addict. But when her mother says she’ll go directly to the doctor who treated Nuria at the hospital, she admits that she took some pills. But she sustains the same ridiculous posture that this is a normal career move.
Porfirio gets a call from Chavez, the second in command at the Álamos PD, about his father’s being on the run, after 5 women apparently accused him of kidnapping them.
Jim walks into a ridiculous set-up at Babel. It’s rather like the fancy table Gavino had set up for Fernando, Diego, and Salas, at his ranch. He’s got another table set up there with candles, fruit, and some alcohol. Ramona and Mateo are at the table with Gavino. Gavino tells Jim he sent the other employees home; they’re going to celebrate his return.
Fernanda has told Zoraida about going to bed with Salas. Zoraida is delighted. Just then Fernanda gets a call about coming to pick up Augusto’s body.
Diego bids farewell to Circe. He's vaguely said he's got things to do about their plan to get the drugs back. She tries for some sex, but he says he’s too busy.
Marlene comes to tell Zoraida and Fernanda that she was the one who killed Disgusto and why she did so. They both have refused to collect the body. Zoraida says he more than deserves to be buried in the fosa común (pauper’s grave).
The crooked cop comes to tell Circe that he did as she asked and let Acevedo go. Whoops!
Diego arrives to pick up Isa for the trip to Álamos. He and Porfi are pleasant with one another, but Porfi tells Diego that he doesn’t want Isa salpicada with Diego’s problems (splattered with). There is a very cute scene with Diego and Ricas, who is delighted to see Diego.
Gavino insists on having a tequila toast with Jim. Dripping with fake geniality, he says he’s come to see how things are going. Things can’t have been easy for Jim with first Joselito… and then Circe… Jim just stares. And then he says that one after another they rise to take Babel and then fall, making his theater their trophy.
Deivid tells Chucho that he wants some help with something about Gaby. And inside Mara tells Gaby that she doesn’t want to leave Mexico.
Gavino expounds on his plan. Ramona will launder the money once again. Mateo, his right-hand man, will supervise the place. Mateo will again bring women (presumably for the prostitution, although he doesn’t explicitly say that). Gavino smirks and says he heard about Jim’s success dancing again. He says that this will bring women to see Jim dance. But que te quede claro de que lado masca la iguana (Jim should know which side of the bread has his butter.) Jim looks him right in the eye and tells him “No. I’m not going to be part of your plans.”
While Diego and Isa are in a car preparing to leave for Álamos, Diego speaks with his mother, calling her ’ama. They are apparently discussing Augusto’s death. But after he hangs up, he gets another call: Circe.
Thanks VERY much, novelera, for this wonderful recap. I missed an embarrassing amount of the dialogue, especially between Joselito and Felipa, and your account really helped. There were lots of other places, too, where your recap filled in things I'd missed. Thanks too for quoting and translating the statement that Gavino made to Jim.
I was somewhat surprised that Jim told Gavino outright that he wouldn't be part of Gavino's plan for Babel. It was a courageous thing to do; I hope it isn't also a deadly one.
Speaking of being surprised, I was a bit surprised when, after Fernanda tells Zoraida that with Salas she's experienced things she hadn't experienced before, Zoraida exclaims with delight, "¡Ay. Un orgasmo múltiple!"
I enjoyed the scene between Edgar and Amanda on the swings. When she complains about her life and says that she just wants to live a normal life in a normal family, Edgar asks her what's normal. "Do you want to have cancer like me? Do you want your father to abandon you as mine did to me?" Edgar goes on to say that he doesn't believe normal exists, and that there is no normal family. Edgar may be a kid playing on a swing, but he's on the cusp of adulthood. I found this scene quite moving.
And, as always, I loved the interaction between Ricas and Diego. I don't know how old the actor playing Ricas is, but I suspect he may have a promising future as an actor.
Novelera, wonderful recap! I was really lost in places – a lot of places, actually - so thank you so much for all the detail. This show makes me feel like I’ve made no progress in my Spanish learning. Sigh. I wish they wouldn’t bleep so much.
Juanita, I agree about the little Ricas actor. This show has a terrific cast, so it takes a lot of stand out among them. I’m also admiring the actress playing Nuria’s mom.
Like you, I also liked the poignant scene on the swings.
Now I'm starting to wonder about Zoraida's own love life. ; )
another wonderful recap, thanks so much novelera!
I keep remembering Jim saying early on that he was the sole legal owner of the Babel and if they kill him someone else will take over and the cartel will be out in the street, Joselito got to him by threatening the girls.
I'm confused why Diego and Isa are going to drive to Álamos, take care of the bodies and be right back, like it's only going to take a couple of hours.
Circe pretty much told Felipe and Joselito to take a hike, but what will she do now without Diego?
loved Nuria's mom beating everyone up, and impressed with Erick just taking it, including the slap from Nuria.
doesn't Gavino have a drug business to run, he no longer has any suppliers or connections.
I guess Diego's plan is to get JJ and Circe in a place where they can be grabbed by U.S. officials.
Thanks for the kind words! I do enjoy every scene Sergio Goyri is in. He's seldom seen without a cowboy hat. Last night was white. Sometimes he wears a black one. I bet those babies cost a lot. A quick Google search tells me that fine quality felt hats (beaver or rabbit fur) can cost as much as $4K.
I wonder how Piochas feels being passed over by Mateo.
Deb, you get the prize for Best Telenovela Memory Bank! I had forgotten that Jim is the legal owner of Babel, in order to hide the narco backing from the authorities.
I am also confused about how Diego plans to get JJ in a position to be arrested. I certainly hope this includes the other Colombian (JJ's brother?) He's the one who always chimes in with dire threats and trusts no one.
I can't explain why I got a case of cyber blushing about Zoraida's remark to Fernanda. Thanks, Juanita, for going ahead and posting it!
