Moises (black-shirt goon)
is still pointing his weapon at Lucía when the goon in the front seat tells him
to calm down; if something happens to Lucía, they will be the ones who will end
up getting killed. Moises then warns Lucía that the boss won’t have to find out
about anything….because if he does find out, Moises will investigate LCJ who
calls her so much; she will never see him again because he will kill him. When
he gives her the hood and tells her to put it on, Lucía obliges.
At the company cafeteria,
Teo goes to sit with Keila. After she tells him that his “platonic love” went
to have lunch with her boss, Teo assumes that there is something going on
between Renata and Guille. Keila isn’t sure, but Renata is old enough to know
what she is doing…and Renata doesn’t tell her much. When Teo hopes that it’s
not one of those relationships that only happens in the mind of the one who
falls in love because there will be much suffering, Keila wonders if he is
talking from experience. Teo asks if it hasn’t happened to her; so Keila says
‘no,’ and adds that Renata is an expert at it…she must like to suffer. Teo
sighs and loses his appetite.
Renata and Guille return
from shopping. As they walk on the grounds, Renata is still in awe of the place
and thinks Guille probably comes every week-end. Guille shares that he hasn’t
been there since his father brought them and his father spent all his time on
the phone as always. He then tells Renata that they have had the house since he
was a child; his father gave it to his mother as a gift…his father always gave
her tokens…on her birthday, his father would lavish her with surprises. When
they would come there, Vale and his mother would go horseback riding and his
father, Eva and he would go skiing. When Renata mentions that she and her
father would go to the Azteca and cheer for her team, Guille is surprised. They
both laugh about their favorite teams.
At the Carvajal kitchen,
Eva is looking through the pantry and is aghast to see the type of food
available; she assumes it was Lucía’s doing since Lucía has no class and
wouldn’t know about refined food. When she tells Silvina that they will restock
with the type of food her father was accustomed to, Silvina apologizes before
asking Eva to be understanding; Silvina doesn’t want any problems with either
of them, but she works for Lucía. After Eva points out that Silvina has worked
for the family for many more years, Silvina worries that Eva will return to her
home after the remodeling is complete and she (Silvina) will have to stay there
and work for Lucía. Eva responds that they will see who leaves the house first;
she tells Silvina to throw out all the food before stomping off. BTW Silvina, dig out your favorite rabbit
recipe too.
Mateo talks on the phone
with Vale who is being driven home by Leon/Chino/Jacobo (LCJ). When he tells
her that since they published the article about the kidnapping, nothing else
has been heard, Vale tells him that everything has been crazy. She summarizes
that Lupita escaped, was shot, and ended up in the hospital. She continues
about the attempts to kill Lupita at the hospital and the plan they came up
with. Mateo offers to help by publishing a death notice for Lupita; hopefully
they will stop looking for her. Vale thanks him profusely and apologizes for
getting him into this ordeal. After she ends the call, LCJ suggests that she
keep away from Juls, but that’s the last thing Vale wants to hear.
At the company, Johny
greets Cardenas and gives him a Janus-faced hug and welcome. After some small
talk about how long they’ve known each other, Johny brings up how he helped
Cardenas’s son get into some prestigious school. Cardenas thought it was León
who helped him, so Johny adds that there were many things that people thought
León was responsible for, but it was he who was behind everything. León took
credit because that was how it had to be, but many things were initiated by
Johny…such as getting the son into the school. Johny then hands Cardenas the
detailed report of all the financial transactions for the past year. Johny
found out that Cardenas had requested it and, as his forked tongue flaps, he
continues that he like Cardenas’s initiative and wishes all the board members
would have that same drive that Cardenas has (barf, barf, barf) Johny then asks
Cardenas that if he finds anything out of the ordinary in the report to please
let him know. An unsettled Cardenas agrees.
At the ARM(enta)
fortress, Moises guides Lucía into the house and tells her that it’s too bad
she won’t be able to talk to Jacobo there; he has a surprise for her. After he
stands Lucía before Armenta and returns her phone, Armenta welcomes her with a
glass of champagne. Lucía refuses because she doesn’t want any, but Armenta
sternly tells her that she does want some. Lucía takes the glass; and Armenta
tells her that this will be a night of many surprises…and there is nothing that
goes better with surprises than a glass of champagne.
At the hospital, Montilla
tells Juls that faking her mother’s death was not a good idea; the criminals
will find out soon. Juls wants her mother to at least recuperate; after that,
they will see what they will do. Montilla thinks that once Lupita is well, they
should leave the city since it would be quite unreasonable to think that they
are free of the criminals. As Juls agrees, Vale approaches only to be told by
Montilla that she doesn’t seem to understand. Vale understands, she just
doesn’t agree with him. Montilla pleads with her to stop taking risks; her
family is in enough danger.
At the school, LCJ,
Hec-Maru and Cami sit outside on a bench. When Cami asks her/im to talk about
his wife, Hec-Maru takes out a picture of him with his wife, Cecilia. When Cami
asks how they got along, Hec-Maru replies that it was like any other
couple…they argue then the woman does whatever she wants…but with a firm hand,
all is well. LCJ asks for an example, so Hec-Maru tells them that his wife
wanted to go back to the university to get a career. He thought that was
ridiculous; so with his firm hand, he settled her down. When Hec-Maru gets up
to go to the restroom, Cami calls him ‘Maru’ and almost gets his head bitten
off since the name should be Hector. After he leaves, LCJ chides Cami for not
using the right name. Cami thinks Hector is insufferable and LCJ thinks he’s
like a nightmare. Cami then rags on LCJ for being so preoccupied about Lucía
and tells LCJ that he should think about why Lucía is with someone like
Armenta.
At the ARM fortress
library, Armenta shows Lucía his favorite book, but she has no interest in it;
in fact there are so many books that it makes her feel woozy. When Lucía tells
him that the library is nonetheless spectacular, Armenta remarks that that is
why he wanted her to see how beautiful the place was. Lucía agrees that it is
quite beautiful, but it is getting late. Armenta thinks otherwise and pins her
to the wall; as he looks down her cleavage, her tells her that the only thing
lacking in the house is the presence of a woman. She considers telling him not
to get too worked up, they are plastic.
At the company, Johny
asks his secretary if she has heard from Lucía. He secretary has tried several
times to call her, but it goes straight to voicemail, When he asks about the
interview with Sanchez-Bueno, the secretary assures him that the crew is
already at his house just as scheduled. He leaves after telling her to keep him
up to speed if she hears from Lucía.
At the Sanchez-Bueno
home, Susana is interviewing that hopeful couple. They talk about what a
dedicated father he is. Susana nods grudgingly as he tells her that is how he
wants to treat the people of his country…as if they were his children…that they
eat well, have the best health system possible and that they have a suitable
roof over their heads. When he states that that is the job of the president,
Susana comments that the job of a president is much more intricate than that.
She starts to mention politics, but (no)S-Bueno doesn’t believe in politics;
politics is trash. The majority of politicians are more into bureaucracy and
their own interests. When he becomes president, he is going to make sure that
the country is for the people, not for a small elite. After Susana points out that Sanchez-Bueno is
not the first to make that promise, an assistant comes to tell (no)S-Bueno that
he has an important call; so he excuses himself leaving Susana to contend with
Patsy. Once gone and after Patsy makes sure that the camera is off, Patsy tells
Susana that she likes her…she is not like the other reporters who are stupid
and want her husband to like them. Susana is surprised when Patsy asks her to
talk about herself.
At the Carvajal hacienda,
Guille and Renata sit nervously on the couch. When Guille tells Renata that she
is the first person he has invited there other than his family, Renata asks
which of his sisters he gets along with better. Guille replies that he is closer
to Vale…he tells her everything. Renata wonders if he has told Vale about
Castillo; so Guille assures her that he has said nothing about that to Vale
because he doesn’t think she would understand. After he tells Renata that, at
that time, she was the only one he could confide in, he confesses that he likes
it that she is there with him. Renata likes being there too. Guille slowly
closes in for a kiss, but as Renata closes her eyes in anticipation, Guille’s
phone rings…it’s Eva whom he didn’t tell anything about leaving the office.
Just then, Renata’s phone rings; it’s Keila. Renata panics that they are being
looked for. She starts rambling that she didn’t inform anyone that she would be
out and fears that she will get fired (silly Renata, you are with your BOSS!).
Guille tells her to calm down; she is with him…the BOSS! After Guille suggests
that they forget about everything else, they kissss…
At the school, Hec-Maru
returns and plops her/imself down and brusquely asks how much time they have
left to live. Cami replies that that is still to be determined, but Hec-Maru
insists on a timeline. LCJ interjects that he also asks himself that question on
a daily basis since he has some pending issues. When Hec-Maru gets nosy, LCJ
tells her/im that it’s personal and asks her/im if s/he doesn’t have anything
pending to resolve. Hec-Maru sarcastically replies that it’s personal. When LCJ
and Hec-Maru start to argue, Cami interrupts to calm them down and tells them
that they need to continue researching the issue. Crabby Hec-Maru agrees to get
her/his tests done…anything to avoid going back to classes where s/he is
treated so badly.
At the hospital, Vale tells
Juls not to worry about all that is needed for her mother. When she offers to
help in any way she can, Juls responds that she has already done a lot; she
need not do anymore. Vale, however, insists and is not necessarily referring to
Lupita’s needs. Juls feels uncomfortable and asks Vale not to look at her so
intensely, but Vale persists and tells her they need to talk. As Juls refuses,
Pancho walks up and tells Juls he brought the clothes and other necessities for
Lupita. Juls then asks him to stay with her mother while she and Vale go have a
talk. Pancho agrees.
At the Carvajal hacienda,
Renata is trying to cut tomato quite unsuccessfully. Guille takes over and
tells her that when he was abroad, he roomed with buddies that were even more
useless that he was; so he had to learn to cook and do some other chores. When
Guille asks if he has told her that he likes her, Renata replies that, yes, he
has told her, but he shouldn’t stop saying it. They start kissing and get muy
passionate (hope nothing is on the stove!).
At the Sanchez-Bueno
home, Patsy and Susana are talking when (no)S-Bueno walks in with Johny
strutting behind him. True to nature, Johny pours on the compliments, but
Susana wonders if he is checking up on her. After Johny assures her that he is
just there to see how things are going, (no)S-Bueno invites him to stay for a
strong drink. Johny thanks him and refers to him as “Mr. President”-to-be.
At the hospital, Vale and
Juls feel awkward and nervous as they have their talk. Vale never thought she would
kiss a girl and wonders if they are gay. Juls doesn’t know, but she does like
Vale. After Vale leans closer and tells Juls that she enjoys spending time with
her, they both smile until they see Lucho approach with a bouquet of flowers.
At a gallery, Mayela is
focused on writing a text when Lucas thanks her for the interview. When she
tells him that that is what friends are for, he questions if they are now only
friends. He asks for Guille and about her relationship with Guille; so she
tries to tell him that she and Guille do have a thing, but Lucas knows her
well…since high school. When he adds that he has been crazy about her since
then, Mayela assures him that what they had ended…bye...kaput! Mayela assures
him that she is now with Guille, but Lucas knows better…she is NOT with Guille.
Let's see...delusional, stalker, crazy, friends know you are crazy, what did I
miss?
At the Carvajal hacienda,
Guille and Renata are still in a lip-lock as Guille leads her awkwardly to the
bedroom. As he is about to push her onto the bed, Renata stops him and asks if
this is what they both really want. She doesn’t want to be let down and wants
him to be sure he is ready for this. Guille assures her that he enjoys being
with her and savors every second they have together; he hadn’t felt this way in
a long time. Renata gives in as does Guille…and they make passionate love...
At the hospital, Vale
wonders how Lucho knew where she was. After her tells her that he always knows
where she is (stalker? Phone tracker?), he hands the bouquet of flowers to Juls
who is quite surprised. He apologizes for the way he has treated her and
explains that he loves Vale very much so he is going to treat her friends as if
they are his friends too.
Groveling. What you do when a
chick stole your chick.
At the children’s ward,
Alicia sits down because she is dead (tired). When Beltrino tries to tell her
that he was the one that was dead; she wants to hear nothing of it. Instead she
wants to know who the lady was who was with him on the trip. Beltrino ignores
the question and goes to get some coffee. On his way, Beltrino catches sight of
Barb who is there looking for him; she wants her cut of the money. When he
chides her for being there where his family is, she hisses that she is not going
to leave without her money; and if he refuses, she is going to go tell his wife
everything. He already tried, they for
sure won't believe you, Bruja.
At Cecilia’s house
(Hector’s former wife), Cecilia entertains her new beau when Hec-Maru comes a
knockin’. When Hec-Maru tells her “Cecilia, it’s been awhile,” Cecilia has no
idea who she is or what she means. Nonetheless, Hec-Maru stomps inside and asks
who the guy is. The guy responds that it is she who should be telling them who
she is. When he asks Cecilia who the child is, Hec-Maru growls that she isn’t a
child. Hec-Maru then tells Cecilia that she is her husband’s friend and she
wants to talk to her about him. After Cecilia tells Hec-Maru that her husband
is dead, Hec-Maru responds, “Really? I wouldn’t be so sure.” This could write a whole new chapter in Urban
Dictionary under 'Splainin'.
At Cami’s house, Cami
jeers LCJ for still being on his phone. They argue about whether LCJ is or is
not in love with Lucía. When LCJ points out that the issue is that Lucía is
with a drug trafficker, Cami thinks it’s absurd. LCJ is dismayed that Cami
would think it’s absurd when they are currently dealing with transmigration
which is truly absurd. Cami decides to change the subject and brings up
Hec-Maru’s situation which is intriguing. LCJ can’t fathom that a man’s soul
ended up in a young girl’s body; it’s an explosive situation. See? Death Chick
does have a sense of humor.
At Cecilia’s house, new
beau doesn’t understand why Cecilia is allowing the young girl to roam around
the house. Cecilia feels uncomfortable since Hec-Maru is just a child. Just
then, Hec-Maru approaches and compliments Cecilia on keeping up the apartment
so well…except for some painting that is of poor taste. After Hec-Maru takes a
sip of wine and is criticized for it by new beau, Hec-Maru asks to talk to
Cecilia alone…in the kitchen. Once in the kitchen, Cecilia gets gruff and tells
Hec-Maru she can’t be talking to her that way and that she needs to leave.
After Hec-Maru tells her that her husband sent her a message, Cecilia thinks
she is crazy since her husband has been dead for six months. Hec-Maru continues
that the message Hector sent her is that if she doesn’t leave that man in the
living room, he is going to kill her.
At the hospital. Barb
wants to go tell Alicia everything; so Beltrino assures her he is going to give
her the money. They argue in the hall until Beltrino gets really pissed and
tells her that he has a code of honor; he is a man of his word…he said he would
give her some money and he will!
Meanwhile, in Javier’s
room, Beltrino’s phone rings; so Alicia decides to take it to him. When she
sees Barb, she immediately asks Beltrino who she is.
At Cecilia’s house,
Cecilia asks Hec-Maru to explain as new beau comes in and asks what is going
on. When Cecilia repeats what the message that Hec-Maru said was from Hector,
new beau tells Hec-Maru to leave, but Hec-Maru yells that he is the one that
should leave…he doesn’t live there and is no one to tell her to leave. New beau
decides to call the police, but when Hec-Maru chides him and asks what he think
s the cops will say since she is just a child, Hec-Maru doubles over in pain
and her tattoo starts bleeding. After they offer to call an ambulance or her
parents, Hec-Maru tells them that she is leaving…but this is not the last they
have heard of her…because Hector is not dead. Once out the door and walking
down the hall, Hec-Maru sees Roy, his son, arriving and calls out to him, but
Roy doesn’t hear him and enters the apartment.
At the hospital, Beltrino
tells Alicia that he is going to tell her the truth; the woman is a witch. Barb
interrupts and tells Alicia the she is a spiritualist with divine powers. When
Beltrino growls that she is a witch, Alicia wonders why he talks to Barb like
that, how he knows her and why he talks to her with such trust. Beltrino confesses that when everything
started happening, he sought Barb out so she could help him understand. When he
adds that Barb took advantage and cheated him, Barb calls him a coward. Beltrino
and Alicia move away as Beltrino tells Alicia that he was hoping that Barb
could help him complete a job to try to save Javier, but she didn’t and now she
wants a bunch of money. Barb insists that he owes her money, so Alicia tells
him to resolve the situation, but Beltrino insists that Barb is trying to take
advantage of the situation and is threatening to make a scandal if he doesn’t
give her money…she doesn’t even care about the tragedy they are going through
with Javier. He then goes to Barb and reiterates that he will pay her because
he is a man of honor; but he is a professor with honor and whoever messes with
him will pay. He motions that she leave
and says good night.
At the hospital, Lucho
asks about the shooting; so Vale tells him it was an assault. After Lucho
offers to help in any way he can, Vale tells him he can donate blood which
Lucho is very willing to do. After Juls thanks Lucho, she mentions that she
needs to go be with her mother. Vale wants to go with her, but Juls tells her
that visiting hours are over. Disappointed, Vale responds that she will have
Alirio take her home, but Lucho relays that he already told Alirio to leave, so
he will take her home. Oh Luc, on the way let's play a game. Here, wear this
wig and bra.
At the studio, Mayela
tapes her interview with Lucas. When she asks what inspired him for a
particular painting of a woman, he responds that the woman represents the woman
who, despite the passing of time, turns his world upside down. The great secret
is that the painting was made as he thought of her smile, her smell and her
flesh. As he gets closer to her, Mayela interrupts and announces the cost of
the painting, but Lucas tells her that the painting is no longer for sale
because the painting’s message has already reached the person it was meant for. Stalker, meet
stalker. Have fun you two.
At the Carvajal hacienda,
Guille and Renata are still going full force when Renata suddenly remembers her
cat; she didn’t feed it. She gets up quickly to go call Keila, but when she
sees all the messages on her phone, she worries that the whole world is looking
for them. Guille calms her down with kisses.
At the ARM fortress,
Lucía complains that her glass keeps getting refilled once it is empty. Armenta
wants her to be calm; and as he holds her hand, he adds that everything will be
easier that way. Lucía wonders what “everything” means and thinks that the
drinks may have clouded her thinking because she may be misinterpreting his
intentions. Armenta counters that it’s perfect then because he won’t have too
much trouble convincing her to spend the night with him….and he doesn’t accept
‘no’ for an answer. After Lucía responds, “Exuuuse me?” Armenta adds, “This
night… Lucía Borjes will sleep…in my bed…with me!”
Up a creek without a
paddle, m’dear?
